Food here is great!!! I haven't had anything on the menu that I didn't like. Well actually, the tortilla chips suck but the rest of the food I love. Service is fast and the staff is accommodating. Definitely recommend this place. Small but great!

Food is good .like the tacos with tortilla made by hand. Customer service is bad. They never and i mean never get my order right . Waitresses are doing a lot that they cant just focus on one customer . Will keep going but i will check my order before leaving the restaurant .

Food is decent but not great and place is clean. Only problem here is the food is way too expensive. Paid almost $15 for a Torta and a quesadilla. Are they crazy.

I love Tio Loco for their authentic plates. I know that every time I go to Tio Loco my order will come with homemade tortillas. I recommend this place for a quick bite to eat. It's a small but delicious restaurant.

I've been going back to this place for years. Their staff is super friendly, they know practically know us by name. The huevos al albanil is my favorite breakfast item with their coffee which has cinnamon in it! Their tacos de chile relleno is great, we order them with sour cream and onion, nothing else. The quesadillas de chicarron prensado are delish. The carne asada dishes are my husbands favorites.

Terrible service!! I ordered a quesadilla de rajas con queso and I asked if they can as steak on it. They brought me the quesadilla with no steak they told me they would bring it right after. I waited 20 min for the steak and I told them I didn't want it anymore. After that, the waitress never came back to our table to ask if we needed anything else or how was everything. On another occasion I order to go some chilaquiles with the eggs over easy and the eggs were over hard!! Never again will I come here.

Bad service. I ordered 2 rib tip dinners. After we waited about 1 hour we left. The food never came out to our table, the waitress totally forgot about us. This was a good restaurant about 5 years ago but it has since gone down hill.

Went for lunch..food is good, service okay, prices little on the expensive side $5.40 for 2 steak tacos with avocado ($0.25 per taco). Would go back if I'm in the area.

Was there last friday for breakfast with my mom and the service was horrible. Waitress took forever to take our order and then when I asked for a straw she practically threw it on the table...not very nice and had a bad attitude. The food took forever to arrive at our table and when it did the rice was hard and tasted old. My chilaquiles were very unappetizing to look at and tasted even worse. I saw other guests eating the huaraches and the sopes so I may give it another try later on and try those out. But overall I wouldn't recommend it especially for the bad service

Great service! I have been going to this restaurant since it opened and can never complain. The food is a bit greasy, but that's a lot of Mexican food. They have a large variety of dishes and drinks.

Cant comment on the food but the service sucks ballz! One waitress taking orders for the entire restaurant and taking carry out orders doesnt make sense at all. I saw a dine in order just sitting on the counter for at least 5 minutes before she even served it to the patrons.. I walked out didnt even get to order after 10 mins.. and didnt want to wait another 20 mins for my food.....

Uncle Crazy is what this place was introduced to me as (Thank You, Heidi) and I'm aware that the grammatically correct way to translate it would be "Crazy Uncle", but I'll stick to the first one. I'm usually not in this neighborhood often but my sister recommended it and I took her word for it. The food was delicious. The tacos de bistek are probably my favorite thing I tasted but the quesadillas con ongos were pretty good too. Massive, but good. The gorditas de asada were pretty average but they weren't bad. The price was pretty average but some of the items on the menu seemed too pricey for my wallet. The service was decent. We went fairly late in the afternoon so only two other tables were occupied but the waitress seemed rushed. My sisters and I had a hefty order. You tend to order the whole menu when you're starving and only end up eating 50% of whatever was brought. When she brought us our food she said "ay muchachas no se para donde se va todo este pero aqui tienen" translation, "oh girls, I don't know where all of this food goes but here you all are". haha My coat must've appeared loose but I'll take that as a compliment. It loses a star because it's so far out of my way.

At first, I shed a tear or two when this place replaced the famous Bunyan's, though after being a regular for several years I've come around full circle. Although there are many Mexican restaurants down Ogden avenue, this one sticks out a bit. The tortillas are exceptional, and everything I've ordered has been good. It can be a little slow when it's super busy, but I've never had a problem with service. I would recommend if you're looking for Mexican fast food!

I have been coming here every now and then for the past 9 years. Lately their customer service has been slacking... A LOT. If you have a large order (like more than 5 items), have it written down because they will most likely mess it up. And when you bring it to their attention, instead of accepting their fault & fixing the problem, they blame it on you. And of course, it is not on the receipt since they manually enter the numbers and just have the totals. Sad because I really like their tortas de carne asada (when they don't undercook the meat) and the horchata. The liquado de fresa is good too.

Went to this place the food was exquisite! Visited several times..recommended to family and friends..the service not that good..they have 2 waitresses that looked like they are mad at the world! They give bad attitude and they taake forever to serve you or take your order. One time during our lunch break we went to dine in and the servers had the radio blasting, I asked her if she could lower the volume and she gave us a bad service. We looved the food but never going back there to eat. We never complaint but every time we went we always got bad service from them.

Came by here yesterday and have to admit that the food was better this time. Not to say that it was bad before but I think because I ordered "Lomo con chile de arbol" a dinner special, as opposed to your typical Mexican fare (tacos, tortas, sopes etc.) it tasted better than I anticipated. Interestingly enough the best part was the salsa. Fresh and spicy. Just the way I like it. They also have more American style dishes and when I come back I might try one.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
