This place sucks. I ordered online on the app and it told me my order would be ready at 4:33 and that I can come thru the drive thru so when I got there I waited for 10 mins for the girl to even take my order meanwhile two ghetto females were in the parking lot arguing with the police present because they were racing to get into the drive thru and apparently someone hit the other while they were being petty. Any who the girl finally takes my order and I tell her I ordered a crave case online and she replied she was looking it up and found my order then she says "u say u ordered the crave case" I said yea she replied what about it? ... I'm thinking wtf do u think I'm here to pick it up???????? Did she think I was just riding through the neighborhood checking up on the crave cases at the local White Castle? I'm so done.... I kno I lack hella punctuation marks but u catch my drift lol

Come On! White Castle is awesome, as good as my local Krystals. I wish they had seating inside. However, they did not complain while we ate inside the front door. They have tasty chocolate shakes.

One of the most terrible customer service experiences I've ever encountered. From the homeless men outside and inside the restaurant selling DVDs, to the excruciatingly lackluster staff, this is absolutely the most terrible White Castles this side of Chicago. The food, the shrimp bites in particular, are the only highlight of this place.

After a five hour flight from Los Angeles, my friends and I were starving. To satisfy the craving, we could only think of one thing: White Castle. Upon arriving in this location in the South Loop, we noticed that the entrance was locked for security. We were able to proceed with the order once we were buzzed in. One slider is a reasonable sixty cents. I placed my order of four sliders and fries to a kind lady that was safely positioned behind thick bulletproof glass. Good to know that White Castle invests in the safety of their employees. As we awaited our order, we noticed why these security measures were necessary. I busted my camera and proudly took pictures of our delicacies; however, my friends questioned the wisdom of doing so. The burger reminds me of the regular burgers that we can get at McDonalds. The difference being that they sell sliders and their burgers aren't loaded with mustard. The buns were wet from the grease of the burger and steam. Their fries taste like frozen fries that we could get at supermarkets. 5 stars for burgers with quality that can only be topped by the dollar menu at McDonalds and for security rivaled only by prison. On a serious note....Don't come here at night. There's a reason there's bulletproof glass. Do your homework and, if you really want white castle...go somewhere else.

We don't have White Castle where we live, so we always try to come here when in Chicago. We're hooked on the fish nibblers! They're so good that they don't need any sauce. Just a little salt is all you need. The sliders are good, just like Krystal's, although my wife insists WC is better. I can't tell much of a difference. What I do know is that Krystal doesn't have those nibblers. If they did, I'd be all set! The staff are friendly, and the service is fast. I'll look forward to coming back here.

Wow, how hard is it to redeem a coupon. Wanted $3 off order over $10, got a $2 off sack 10, after a lengthy wait. Clueless Manager, feel sorry for staff with so little training. The food still great,

I have to be in the mood to eat WC (don't know what that mood is lol) but when I do have the WC mood, I visit this location because it's on my way home in the Bronzeville area. I have never been dissatisfied with my food; however I cannot say the same for customer service. I have ordered through drive-thru and have not been inside. The drive-thru always had trash on the path and falling out the trash bin. Back to the customer service...the employees seem to always appear unhappy and never say "Thank You" or "Have a nice day." They always have a mad face or the expression of ugh. I receive my receipt they are silent, I receive my food they are silent. One time I felt awkward in my own car waiting for my food because of how the drive-thru employee face looked and her refusal to say a word to me. I don't think she restated my food total, hmmm. Like I have stated, I have not been dissatisfied with my food, just the poor customer service so I have to give 3 stars.

Yeah, I'm new to the area. Hellllo, Bronzeville! Thankfully, I'm no longer working in the non-diversified North Shore. (By the loving grace of God, I should say.) But, after three years working up there, I knew all the lunch spots. Time to explore what this 'hood has to offer, huh? Today, I just wanted some fries. I thought stopping into WC would be a prime choice. When you walk in, you'll notice that the cashiers are shielded behind some bullet-proof glass. Really? It's dangerous? Surprising as this was probably the friendliest service I've ever gotten at a WC. No, really. (Have you BEEN to the one on Ridge?) AND - it was sweet gesture that the cashier came out to my table and handed me a coupon book (since she couldn't find it when I was paying). Too sweet. I'm diggin' this 'hood already.

I'm from the West Coast where you can only find White Castle in the freezer section of a grocery store. I had the hamburger in frozen-then-microwaved form once before when a Chicagan-turned-Californian friend hosted a Midwest Fest. The slider was unimpressive so I had to try to the real thing from the real place. Fast forward... I'm at one of Chicago's White Castle joints and order a jalapeno cheeseburger because I'm a sucker for spicy and cheesy. While I'm waiting for my slider to be prepared, I notice a sign warning customers can't stay for longer than 45 minutes in the restaurant. Talk about "you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here." It's just as well because I had to catch a White Sox game that night and ended up eating the slider while waiting for the bus to head to the Cell. The jalapeno cheeseburger turns out to be two steamed slider buns hugging a thin, grayish-brown meat patty topped with grilled, diced onions and a slice of cheese. While "hot and steamy" would be great adjectives to describe any scenario, I can't say I like my slider bun or meat patty tasting steamed. As for the jalapeno cheese, it tasted like a cross between pepper jack cheese and jalapeno cheese poppers. You can taste the jalapeno-ness, but it lacked in any spiciness. In the end, I'm just left wondering, "Wait, am I missing something about the White Castle hype?" Maybe it's because White Castle has been around long enough that it just becomes ingrained in Midwest culture. Or maybe it's because I wasn't starving and/or stoned. Either way, while I've had better fast food burgers, a place like this can't be that bad if its sliders are cheaper than dollar menu items and you can get cheese sauce with your fries.

Finally a White Castle! These are tasty little burgers! Melt in your mouth, not in your hand. I took the pickles off, and some of the onions. But the meet, cheese and bun are great. It's like the Harold and Kumar movie :)

When it comes to White Castle, the method of judgment that I prefer is examining the quality and speediness of a Crave Case. After all, the Crave Case is one of the biggest selling points of White Castle and is prominent in much of their advertising (that doesn't have to do with chicken rings - and with all of the judgment of McDonald's in activist campaigns asking where on a chicken you can find the McNuggets, nobody's bothering to ask where on a chicken you'll find rings) - so why not make the true test for this location be their "signature dish"? This time, there were two of us tackling the beast. And we tempted fate by getting cheeseburgers, though we well knew the risks of 15 tiny cheeseburgers each. This location, however, is located on MLK. And yes, it seems that whenever I'm in this neck of the woods, I tend to be one of the only white people (if not the only) in the vicinity. Considering Chicago is just a giant "melting pot", we certainly still have a lot of areas that have not fully melded into this racial amalgam - and we CELEBRATE most of them with names like "Chinatown" or "Ukranian Village" or "Greektown". Since any attempt to create a similar name for this area would be racially-insensitive, I will simply have to say that this neighborhood features a two-block stretch containing three fried chicken locations and an extra location with just chicken wings - and leave it at that. Because of those issues, the entryway is practically an airlock. The employees are all behind thick bulletproof glass. There are surveillance cameras everywhere. It's hard to say whether this level of security makes me feel safe (because it's all there) or unsafe (because it could be needed, and it's only there to protect the EMPLOYEES, not the CUSTOMERS). Actually, it's not hard to say. It feels unsafe. Walking the streets and feeling like the only white person is not a bad experience in the least, but accentuate it with bulletproof glass and surveillance cameras and stereotypes become more prominent and the world around you gets a little scarier. No offense to White Castle, but we obtained said Crave Case and got the hell out of Dodge. Thankfully it was a short trip to the spot of mass consumption. My friend shamed me by failing to eat his designated 15 cheeseburgers, so I had to pick up his slack and muscle down his leftovers for a total of 18.5 cheeseburgers (it shows a level of closeness and intimacy to eat a friend's half-eaten food, no?) and quite a full belly. Take-out trips to White Castle now involve building monuments out of cardboard burger containers, as fitting one empty container inside another creates a solid building block that can be used to make Towers of Gluttony. So yes, the speed and taste of these cheeseburgers was spot-on, but for scaring the crap out of me and my buddy and forcing us to flee to a safer location to gorge ourselves, I can't award anything higher than 3 stars.

Over the years I have eaten a lot of White Castle. In fact their food sometimes brings back childhood memories because in my old hood we lived just a few blocks away from one. It was our favorite place to cool off in the summer time because they always had the A/C set to ice cold. Anyway, This location does the food right. Sliders are done perfectly. I also have a fondness for the "Fish Nibblers" and they always get them perfect as well. They are also speedy, I have never been stuck waiting more than five minutes at this location., so they are well trained and well staffed. Though I have to admit, this location scares the hell out of me. Bullet proof glass does that to a person. Also the staff isn't really welcoming, but i guess working behind bullet proof glass all the time would do that to a person as well. So I always just grab my food to go, and like the old saying goes "Make like a shepherd and get the flock out of here."

After seeing the A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas I had to make a stop at White Castle and get a crave case. No wait and exactly what I needed to end the perfect night **** for the friendly and quick service

As White Castles go, this is one of the better ones on this side of town. I've never had any problems here with the food or the service, though I've heard that sometimes homeless people may walk up to your car & try to hit you up for money. (But times are tough for everyone; that's why I'm eating at White Castle!)

So, I been dying to try this for years. As every has since seeing Harold & Kumar. The only thing in LA we have is the 8 pack of frozen sliders at the market. So, being in Chicago, and looking to try some of this, I go online and find that there is a White Castle a few blocks from where the White Sox play, and I was gonna see a game there, so it was perfect. On the corner of 35th and King. When I am driving down there, I find out that King was short for Martin Luther King. Now really, isn't MLK all about peace? Why is it that everywhere I have been, no matter what city, MLK street is always where the most dangerous crap occurs? Anyway, I digress, but not really. So, I see the White Castle, and can drive thru or eat in. Shoot, I am halfway across the country and first time eating fresh White Castle, I have to go in and see what it's like. Wow! So, I believe the following is only for this branch, because I went to other places later and it didn't have the same set up. I walk in through one door, and can't open the other door till that one closes, ok, whatever, it closes and i open the other to get in. I walk to the line and notice people are looking at me. Can they tell I'm from LA? Nope, I'm the only non-black in the spot, and I guess they think I'm lost? I dunno. Well, I ignore it and get to the front of the line. In front of me isn't your ordinary counter. It is like a bank now. There is glass in front of me, Bulletproof glass with a lil steel hold with slits in it that I talk to the cashier through. WTF?!?! Sweet!!!!! So I order my meal, I didnt know what I want, but there's people behind me and they are look for a reason, so I just order a basic combo. Now to get my food, there is a lil maze of bulletproof glass that I have to fish my food out of. Hahah, sweet. Got my 4 sliders, fries, and fruit punch. What the heck, let's eat in. I sit down and am asked for money, I give my change, 4 cents. He said he can't do anything with that. I said sorry. He got mad, I said sorry again. Some lady told him to back off from across the room. I stay and eat. I stay and eat because I have already had a bite of this lil square piece of perfection. Nice soft toasty bread, yummy beef, onion bits, and pickle. I can't be bothered at all. I finish my meal, and leave through one door, let it close, smile at the camera, then other door. I guess this is how they capture criminals? Now, I later find out that not all White Castles are like this. In fact, it was the only one of the 5 i visited that are. So, if you wanna feel more relaxed and safe, you can go to an uptown one. But if you want some people asking for money, 6 video cameras, bulletproof glass, and a little holding room with the 2 doors, come for the full experience.
