Does me well. That neighborhood variety of Chinese with the over-sweetened options and tasty egg rolls. This is totally it. It's close, tasty, and cheap. Thanks, Wen Cai.

It all started when I got their menu in my mailbox. Hungry one night, and in the mood for Chinese food, I decided to give it a try. I went online and tried their online ordering system, but even though I live less than a mile away, the system told me that I was outside of their delivery zone, and I needed to call. Doing so, I forfeited the online coupon I was looking forward to - free crab rangoon :( Oh well, I guess in hindsight, it's better off I didn't get them, if the rest of the meal was any indication of the quality they'd be. I ordered chicken and broccoli - one of my favorites, and an utter disappointment :( Why can't Chicago seem to understand how to make this staple dish actually taste good. I don't know which was worse, the absolute flavorlessness of it, or the fact that it was 90% veg and 10% chicken. Let me move on to the wonton soup, which was filled with other things, I'm not even sure what, but veg of some sort, so fine. I take all the solid pieces out of the container and put them in a bowl, and I'm being generous if I say there was an inch left of broth in the container. This to me is NOT soup :( Cut the alleged wontons in half and discovered that they weren't actually wontons, but dough folded over itself so many times and pressed together to become an actual solid chunk of dough...no filling whatsoever in any of the pieces :( I'm desperate to find a decent Chinese restaurant in Chicago that will deliver to my neighborhood - Wen Cai definitely is NOT it :( :( :(

Tried this for the first time. Really disappointed. I got the Szechwan beef. It was really terrible. It had no flavor, I mean you would have to go out of your way to make something this bland, and the beef was like rubber. It was inedible. The crab rangoon didn't have any flavor either. If it had come in a box I would have been better off eating the box (it came in a plastic container) Tthe egg roll actually tasted like food. The fortunate cookie was even bad. Won't be back to this place. Avoid unless you enjoy chewing....a lot.

People need be aware. I got food poisoning from this place. I had beef fried rice, and white rice. Woke up violently ill. I had food poisoning years ago and it doesn't change one bit, it sucks! be very very weary of this place, I shall never return. The meat they use for beef is extremely questionable, beef? I think not.

Excited to get some bubble tea here after reading the rave review from another yelper. Came in and saw the taro bubble tea on the wall and tried ordering that. The lady at the counter said that she knew there was a pic of taro on the wall but they don't have it. Ok....then she started mumbling under her breath and left the counter and started packing things to go and answering the phone! I was a little dumbfounded that she ignored me while in the middle of ordering my food...?! So she comes back and I ask her if they have tofu. Again some mumbling under her breath and she looks at some papers and said no tofu today and seems like she's ready to dismiss me AGAIN. Ok...so I still want to order something! So I ordered Vietnamese chow fun with shrimp. She repeats the order and says how much is that? Grabs a menu and starts studying it to get the price. In the meantime the line behind me is growing and I'm getting irritated. I say, on the wall it says $5.75 for a small order. She ignores me and rings it up for $7.20. I repeat that on the wall it says 5.75 with a picture. She says no no that's not right!! Then comes around from behind the counter to see the picture menu. I point to the pix and she says no! This is VIETNAMESE chow fun! I said yes that is what I ordered! So she rings up the right price finally. Then I waited nearly 30 mins for the food which is a little unreal. The staff seemed overwhelmed as people kept streaming in and ordering food which is a good sign I think, but communication skills are a leeeeetle lacking... The actual food: it was not the best I ever had but it was decent. $5.75 got me a TON of food, probably enough for 3 meals. I also asked for less oil and they obliged...it was definitely not glistening in oil so they listened. Lots of jumbo shrimp and generous heaps of rice noodles. Not bad.

First time I opted for delivery and it got here in ten minutes on a Saturday night! The woman at the counter (I feel rude now for not knowing her name!) always remembers my face and greets me warmly. My hot and sour soup and veggie lo mein had extra bonus points ingredients I was very pleased to see: large mushrooms, zucchini, etc... they don't skimp ya! Sometimes certain fruits aren't available, which I don't mind bc they do stock whats mainly in season or available. I can attest they DO have the taro and it tastes magically like oreo fillings! Unfortunately I guess they just can't be 100% stocked always

good thing about this place is that there is a parking lot, so finding parking is not an issue.. i ordered the Mongolian beef combination dinner which comes with a bottle of water, chicken fried rice, Mongolian beef, and egg roll.. i also ordered some fried chicken wings.. the fried chicken wings was pretty bland .. taste below average.. the Mongolian beef dinner was horrible.... the beef tasted very chewy and doesn't taste that fresh.. the sauce was more on the sweet side then spicy.. it was loaded with onions too... the fried rice was very bland also..

Any place that has a vegetarian egg roll that doesn't skimp on size or flavor gets my seal of approval. They're a little greasy, though. Nothing to call home about, but decent Chinese food outside of Chinatown.

Their food is great!! the service is phenomenal. They are very polite as well, the food sizes are great. They really stuff the carrying box, it's great they even offer little candy in the front. It's super clean and you can peek into the kitchen. Just stay away from the smoothies they're not good they taste like frozen water with some kool aid not good. I'm a regular here.

You know those days when you're like, man, I really want some shitty orange chicken? Just some typical fast-food Chinese garbage? This place is great for that. This was my first time there, and I was a bit hesitant for lack of reviews, but I went for it. I got the Governor's Chicken, which was really, really sweet. No spicy at all :( I think some Saracha would fix that (which they had gallons of), but I carried out. Portion size was pretty big for the Large (I couldn't eat it all in one sitting). Be warned though - this dish has those creepy mini baby corns in it... I don't mind, but I have a friend with a mini-corn phobia. I also got the crab rangoon which was actually not something I'd get again. It wasn't creamy enough for my taste and the filling had too much crunch. But that's just not how I like my crab nuggets. Service was good, place was very clean, and it didn't take too terribly long to wait for my food. If you want mediocre Chinese food, and are in Pilsen... Do it.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
