Did someone say wonuts!?!?! One of the most delicious things human has ever created. We ordered breakfast (room service) wafflescafechicago.com/r… too... don't remember how we felt about the breakfast... doesn't matter. This place should be all about wonuts anyways. I can't imagine waffles or donuts the same way anymore. There should (yet shouldn't) be more wonuts in the world.

To start, the place is very close to Magnificent Mile and it offers a clean and welcoming environment, coupled with prompt service. The waffles are just right, a welll balance of softness, crispness and flavors. The portions are generous and could be shared; price is not an issue since everything is priced reasonably. We tried the egg waffle sandwiches which were amazing! And now, for the piece of resistance, the flagship waffles - to go. Free Wi-Fi and Intelligentsia coffee is served to order!

I deducted a star for the bathroom... Seriously smelled so bad I almost threw up my waffles.... The waffles however were divine! Really liked the red velvet.

I had the chocolate turtle, blueberry, and cinnamon apple cider wonuts(a cross between a waffle and a donut). The chocolate turtle wasn't great, it was a bit hard in the middle of the wonut. The blueberry was great but pretty sweet. The cinnamon apple cider was really light and sweet and airy, so soft. I had hash browns that looked packaged and eggs over easy. The eggs were straight.

Came for the wonuts and should have left after getting them. Unfortunately, also tried the Eggs Benedict Waffle dish and I immediately had a stomach ache after. This was the first dish I ate that morning so it can't be from anything else. Even the orange juice that is supposedly fresh squeezed using this cute gimmicky whirling machine was meh. Weirdly way too sweet. I only recommend this place for wonuts. I had raspberry and green tea. Green tea was amazingly yummy and raspberry was good but not as tasty. Service here is okay, not great. Plenty of time I have been ignored because server walking around was not serving my section. My server was no where to be found, had to ask people to call for them. Note* they do provide free wifi. Only 1 washroom for girls and 1 for boys. Must get a key for it too.

I LOVE WAFFLES. It is important to know that beforehand. I was drawn to this restaurant because a friend told me about their wonuts. We did end up trying a few wonuts, which were a lot of fun (unfortunately, they usually only stock a few kinds at a time, and it varies throughout the day, so the wonut menu is useful just in the descriptions of the wonuts). There were no holes in the center of the wonuts either. Basically, the taste/texture was denser than a donut, kind of cake-like, but with the shape of a waffle. In addition to the wonuts, we also ate brunch here and enjoyed some sweet and savory waffles dishes. We had the flight of donuts, which was fun, plus a pork/shoulder + cheddar waffle dish and an eggs benedict dish. I loved the novelty of all the waffle dishes, because most other restaurants I've been to don't offer so many savory waffle dishes. Service was average. They seem to be pretty busy. They did take a photo of our group for us when we asked. The restaurant itself is also very simple in decor, although there is one wall that features various waffle irons of the past. Prices average. Overall, a solid restaurant for the waffle-lover, but nothing spectacular.

Great for breakfast ! Opens early and tastes awesome ! The wonuts are great ! I wish I had these in Miami so far I have had the plain and simple followed by some wonuts also I noticed the kids menu is just under $4 !! Seems like a good deal to me!

Home of the infamous wonut, which I first saw on buzzfeed, and almost jumped a flight from the Jerz to Chi-town for, I made a special trip to the city to try this delicacy last weekend. It was just okay. It made me glad I didn't spend $200 on a flight to Chi-town to try a wonut. Perhaps I tried the wrong wonut? I had the white ganache wonut and it was just off. It is hard to describe; it was very sticky, like a cinnabon. But the wonut itself was good; the ganache ruined it for me though. I had two bites and it met the trash can. I would go back to try the Mexican Chocolate or the Cinnamon Sugar. the food was not up to par. I was hungry after wandering around the city. I am new - i need to get acclimated to the hood. Sure, I live in the burbs but I play in the city. AND I NEEEEEEEDED A WONUT. I didn't eat waffles because that would have defeated the purpose of a wonut later. I had an omelet. It was kind of rubbery and dripping in oil. I can definitely say I have had better -- heck--I have even cooked better and I can barely use a stove. What intrigued me was the has brown shaped like a waffle. It tasted like a potato latke and was the star of my breakfast. I was in love. Eat the hash-waffle. Skip the eggs. This is a meh and a half resto. I am rounding up because the wonut has potential for success.

I came to Waffles Cafe for a quick brunch around 11AM on a Thursday. All tables were taken, which I took as a good sign. It took about 10 minutes for my party of one to be seated. However, I was seated at a wet table. I didn't realize this until I sat down and opened my wet menu. However, the woman working there for the day realized my table situation and got on it right away. I'd say right now, she was the highlight of the visit. Once she filled my mug with coffee, I ordered the Mexican Chocolate Waffles - it sounded pretty appetizng. After a 10-15 minute wait I received my waffles! The portion was quite large, two full size waffles drizzled with chocolate and orange vanilla cream. The waffles lacked any chocolate taste. I think the orange vanilla cream had too much of an overpowering citrus taste to the dish, I could have done without it. I really expected more. Being that this cafe is off the magnificent mile, I can understand why I was charged what I was charged. But looking for those looking for value, I'd say look elsewhere. I should have tried the wonut while I was there, since it seems like that was what they boasted.

The Wonuts are delicious. I loved my hash brown waffles wish they were not as thick. Overall this place is great. Love the concept.

Came here because of a Groupon discount and had the steak and eggs. The steak was a little spicy and the eggs were over cooked. The service was just ok. Had to ask for silverware, sugar and cream and then noticed that the napkins holder on the table was empty.

I am a big breakfast fan! I just want to make that clear so any type of breakfast is amazing to me unless it is just your regular plain and simple breakfast place. I would say I am more of an exotic eater and like trying new things. Once I saw Waffle Cafe on Yelp and read the reviews, I knew I had to try it out! I told my friends we have to try this place since it was our last day in Chicago!!! Once we go there, we were amazed on how full it was! Everyone was there eating Waffles, Wonuts & Home Fries in the shapes of waffles!! It is a very cute little place and to be honest, we passed it two times while looking on Ohio Street! We switched up breakfast at ordered three wonuts as an appetizer. We had the Chocolate Turtle, Birthday Cake & Cinnamon Sugar. They were all good but my absolute favorite WONUT was the Birthday Cake! For breakfast we ordered a few things. I ordered the Red Velvet Waffles with a side of mixed berries. My girlfriend ordered the basic waffles with strawberries and our friend odered the Chicken & Bacon with Waffle dish. We were all pleased with our meals and just totally enjoyed it! Oh, and we shared the homefries which were in the shape of the waffle. It was DELISH!!!!

A tad underwhelming, especially for the price and portion sizes - on the most recent outing, I popped into the Streeterville location on a Sunday, just before noon, to find only two tables occupied and at least four wait persons standing around. I was greeted and seated immediately and left to choose from the three page menu. The offerings are, true to their name, "waffle-heavy", with a mirage of flavored waffles, ranging from luxurious-sounding sweet treats like Red Velvet Waffles ($8.95) and Mexican Chocolate ($8.95), to rather savory'ish items like the Cheddar & Short Rib Waffles ($12.95) and today's bucket-list item, the Waffles Benedict ($12.95). Other options include a "Prime Burger" (4ozs for $4.95, 8ozs for $7.95), a Turkey Burger ($8.95) and a couple of veggie options, like the Black Bean Burger ($9.50) and a Quinoa Burger ($9.50). Sweet potato and "waffle" fries are optional ($2.75), and there is also a small bowl of Mac & Cheese ($3.95) as well as a simple bowl of Roasted Veggies ($4.95) available as sides. There are a handful of Panini sandwiches on the menu as well, ranging from Chicken Pesto ($9.95), Short Rib ($9.95) and the somewhat tasteless BBQ Chicken ($9.95) I had sampled the week previous. These all come with a very small order of nicely done French fries. With my stomach jones'ing for the Waffles Benedict, I ordered and waited less than ten minutes for my plate to arrive - two coaster-sized waffles with a spoonful of pork shoulder almost hidden beneath two perfectly-poached egg. The tiny towers book-ended a small salad that was not only missing from the menu's description, but was also completely devoid of any dressing. The tiny liege-style waffles were dense and didn't really have that caramelized sugar taste you find with most yeast waffles of this variety. Sadly, while the pork was nicely cooked and juicy, it was utterly tasteless - the smattering of gray flesh could have easily been brought to life with a tiny spritz of Eastern North Carolina -style vinegar sauce. The "Spiced Hollandaise" was chilled, probably whipped up from an instant packet (?), its hue altered with a dash of paprika - neither spicy nor true Hollandaise. $12.95 for the tiny brunch waffle felt a bit overpriced, as did the $2.00 fountain drink that was never refilled. Tack on a pair of signature "wonuts" for the road - a greasy Peppered Bacon ($3.00) that soaked through the bag before I walked home, and nicely glazed, perfectly sweet White Ganache- and the tab topped out at $23.00, before tip.

Solid breakfast place with a wide variety of waffles and wonuts. Prices are reasonable considering it's a minute walk from The Magnificent Mile. My short rib waffles were a little dry, but it came with dipping sauce so it's forgivable. The red velvet, Liege, and chocolate waffles the others had were very good.

Stopped in for breakfast and the place looked busy, there were a few couples waiting to be seated. I walked up to the first employee and asked who I should give my name to, so I could be seated. He said "uh me", but didn't take it down. Told me it would be about 25 minutes. 15 minutes later I noticed mutiple tables clearing up, some where cleaned off and available for the next guests others weren't. I saw a lot of busboys walking around but not really doing anything. One lady went to ask to be seated and pointed to the empty tables, they were, but walked out a few minutes later looking quite angry I waited another 10 minutes, the situation was still the same, so in left. Also they store their cups right behind the bench where people wait to be seated, so there's this awkwardness when the employees need to reach over you to grab them. Don't need your crotch that close to me thank you very much! This place needs to get its act together.

Stopped in for breakfast on Sunday and the place was packed so we sat outside. The waitress came and took our order and we waited. And waited. The server came by and we asked for more water and what was up with our food "it's coming". It got cold outside so we asked to move inside. Still no food. I asked again, "it's almost done". Then, 35 minutes later I see the server and Manager talking. I went and asked what was going on "your server forgot to put your order in". Ok, I get that, it can happen but I asked two other times and was told "it was coming". Ridiculous.

I am currently sitting in waffles cafe I use to work here. The owner is one of the most horrible bosses I have every worked for. It is Wednesday (payday) he has told me paychecks are to be picked up after 3pm and he also has said we pick up checks on Tuesdays as well. He is the most unprofessional person I have worked for. He he breaks the law has people working for free on their days off if they are late or cannot come in for their shift he has no labor law notice posted in his back whatsoever against the law and he says he has cameras (two)but they are hidden against the law. The Night crew make 5.95 an hour with tips on a good night with tips they make a $60 but on a bad night they walk out here making $8. Tell me is this fair or not. The department of labor needs to come and show this boss how to run a legit business

Meh sums it up. I had wanted to try the wonuts from the time we moved in and so took the family in for breakfast when they came to visit. Breakfast was a waste of money. Ordered the sampler flight $14 and coffee $3+. We were literally sitipting next to the tiny beverage station and after 7 mins finally had to ask for the coffee, which was terrible. I stopped next door at 7-11 when we left for a better cup of coffee. Got 4 small waffles AND NOT ONE WAS DONE. NOT ONE. Family ordered the waffle sandwiches. Again, waffles were gummy and sticky on the inside. They offered to remake one and they walked up,to the table with it after about 15 mins and said, oh, this isn't yours. We waited so long for the refired sandwiches we paid the check and left and they didn't notice. Maybe the small expensive wonuts are better? I know they are made offsite, we watched them bring them in.

In town for work. Was looking for traditional breakfast food and stumbled across this quaint cafe......opted for the plain and simple - two eggs, toast, hash browns and turkey sausage. I thought they forgot my hash browns, but didn't realize it was actually a little hash brown waffle. Omg....everything was great, especially that hash brown. Then my server decided to give me a "wonut". Never heard of that before, but it's a mix of a waffle and donut. It was delicious!!! This will definitely be my breakfast from now on when here in Chicago. Looking forward to trying other menu items.

I rarely give fewer than 3 stars but this place is well deserving. The food, drink, service and atmosphere were all lacking. We ordered short rib waffles, chicken and waffes, mac and cheese bites and hot chocolate sampler. Maybe the wonuts or sweets are better but the savory items were definitely a big miss.

This was a disappointment. The service was slow and unfriendly. The wonuts were okay, but not as good as I imagined. We tried the birthday cake one, but there's a big assortment of flavors. I ordered a make your own scrambler which was actually pretty good with kale, onion and Swiss cheese. It came with cute waffle hash browns but unfortunately those looked better than they tasted, they don't have much flavor. The toast was awful, burnt beyond eating. I don't know how you can serve that. Overall not satisfied and will not be returning when there are so many better options around here.

Arrived and saw there were about three groups waiting for a table. We were told the wait would be about 25-30 minutes. We opted to get food to go... It's been 25 minutes and we still have yet to get our to go order. If we hadn't already paid, we would have left long ago. This is ridiculous.

Came to ChiTown and passed by this place due to my fiance researching places to eat prior to flying in. The place is nice and quiet with a pretty simply concept. The waffles are right in front of the counter and you just pick and choose your flavors and fillings. We chose the red velvet, white chocolate and the turtle. My favorite was the white chocolate and red velvet.

3.5 Stars I came here on an empty stomach and absolutely starving! I knew right away I wanted to try the waffle flight. It came with Strawberry, green tea, Mexican Chocolate, and Apple. I loved the apple and the strawberry, but the other two were just okay. The waffles tasted sort of like mini cakes. I love that they were on the softer side and not crispy and hard. I think I prefer just plain waffles though (I know I'm weird). I also went for a side of scramble eggs, which were good. I went with someone who has an allegic reaction to Soy, so her choices were very limited. She desperately wanted a waffle, but since they use (as most places) vegetable oil to spray the pan that wasn't an option. One of the only choices she could get was a burger. LOL...she got the burger and said it was good. This is totally not the restuarants fault that was her only option since soy is bascially in everything. Next time I think I want to explore the menu more and choose soemthing other than waffles.

Total mom and pop shop. If you're looking for a different interpretation of a donut, you've come to the right place. The service is pretty good, too. The servers are friendly as well as the host. Our wonuts were brought out pretty quickly, and they were definitely nothing short of amazing. I really wanted to try the green tea wonut, but they didn't have it. I went with the peppered bacon wonut, and I was not disappointed. I would have given them five stars, but they got my order wrong. I ordered a cheeseburger with no tomatoes and a fried egg on top. I received a hamburger with tomatoes, no cheese, and a fried egg on top. I was already halfway through when I realized the discrepancy, so I let it slide. It would have been better if the egg was runny, but it was cooked all the way through. Same with the patty, I usually order my burgers as medium rare. The bun was really good, too. I'm a huge fan of lettuce, so the large serving of lettuce in the burger satisfied me. All in all, I'll definitely recommend trying the wonut. It's an experience that you won't get anywhere else.

Don't get me wrong the food was great! The service was TERRIBLE. Took forever to have a waiter come over and take our order then forever for us get our food! Finally 2 of our plates came and our friend waited at least 10 more minutes for her food!! Overall the wait staff was not in sync. After our dishes were cleared we waited, and the waited for the check. One waiter even came by and asked, "What are you waiting for, your food?" I couldn't believe it. I could go on and on about the staff... To top of bad service the place was DIRTY. Silverware, napkins, and garbage all over the floor.

Cute little place for brunch. Staff is welcoming and friendly. I had the waffle flight. It consisted of the red velvet, green tea, Mexican chocolate, and Apple compote. All were delicious. (My favorite was the green tea and the Mexican chocolate.) Waffles benedict was another winner at our table. Yummy pork shoulder with poached eggs! Oh AND...they have a machine that squeeze fresh OJ! Yum yum yum!! We had a good experience here. Friendly staff. Good food. Good company. Def will be coming back in the future!

I know you all are hard working men and women here. I felt that when I walk in, but with all respect your customer service sucks. Waited about 6 minutes to get a menu (the place wasn't even half full), and then a guy with a bad attitude came up and asked for what I want. Except the one African American gentleman there, I would say, the rest of the waiters don't know what they are doing. (One of the stars are just for him, otherwise I would rate the lowest) Anyway, after a few minutes they borough my pancake and orange juice. Pancake was half burned and the juice was hot! Plus when you charge $10.95 for a one topic pancake, you really shouldn't charge $1 extra for the maple syrup. Again, I know you work hard, but people pay to get good food and good service.

Tried Waffles Cafe for brunch today & we weren't disappointed. It's a simple little cafe with no-frills decor, which was cool with us. They had something called "Wonuts" on the menu so we had to try one. Had the Birthday Cake Wonut & it was delish...imagine putting donut batter into a waffle iron cooking until partially done then finished in a deep fryer & dipped in glaze & cake icing. I had the 3-egg omelet, my son had the waffle egg sandwiches, & my daughter had a Brussels waffle with Nutella & eggs. Everyone was satisfied & the service was prompt & friendly. Would definitely go back.

This place is awesome! I am a donut fanatic so I'm always interested in sweet doughy creations. When I heard of a "Wonut" I was interested to see what the Waffle Cafe had to offer and they absolutely delivered!! The Wonut is the perfect mix of a donut waffle baby. The Cafe could stop there but they keep the belly satisfied with their delicious breakfast options. From their 3 egg omelette with waffle shaped hash browns to their waffle breakfast sandwiches. I was in heaven . The owner and staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Their only down side .... they don't have a location on the east coast.

Highly upset that the meal ordered arrived late. The waffle was half cooked, so i could not eat it. Then I ordered a corn dog and got a hot dog. I was not going to complain about the dog. A dog is a dog, so no worries, but now I have a half eaten waffle sitting on my desk. A can lemonade that I paid $2.35. The best thing was the strawberry topping for the waffle. At least the strawberries are fresh. Will not order from them again.

Wed morning at 8:00. Not busy and was seated promptly and given water and menu. I heard much about the wonuts and ordered the Green Tea. I was not sure what to expect and I thought it was a little dry/stale......but maybe that is what it was supposed to be like. Tasty enough though. Ordered chilaquiles, very tasty but not outstanding. Decided to try another won't and had the blueberry, still a little tough but tasty enough. Two wonuts, chilaquiles and tea was $21 without tip. Service was prompt throughout. Welcome to the big city....

Waffle Cafe is literally 2 minutes from my condo so when I saw it had opened, I had to go in and try it. I definitely will be going back and here's why.... 1) Great music -- they were playing Ella Fitzgerald when I walked in. 2) Service was good for a new restaurant. They forgot the syrup for my waffles and after it was noticed that I never got syrup.... they still failed to bring it to me. I did get a free freshly squeezed orange juice and a wonut! 3) Vast array of different kinds if waffles. Some I've seen before at other places, but also some new ones (Ham & Cheese, Mexican Chocolate and Albondigas (beef meatballs on a queso fresco cheese waffle topped with spicy tomato stew) Waffle) 4) Pound cake French Toast sounds amazeballs! Must come back to try it 5) Nice non-waffle options such as: build your own omelet - pick up to 5 non-meat ingredients. Don't like that you have to pay $1.50 to add meat to your omelet. Also, a couple other egg dishes. 6) Hot chocolate flight! Holy Chocolate Grail YES! I couldn't try it on my first visit (the flight of French toast was killing my diet enough for the day), but when I go back I will be trying this for sure. 7) They have a good selection of burgers and sandwiches for those looking for a quick bite for lunch or dinner. My meal Flight ($13.95) smells and was amazing. The waffles are light & fluffy. * Mexican Chocolate - loved the crunch from the shaved dark chocolate. The orange vanilla cream was nice, but he orange flavor overpowered the chocolate a little. * Green Tea - tasted like a slice of cake in my mouth. The lemon ginger cream was a perfect compliment to the green tea flavor and the topping of ground pistachio was a great touch. * Red Velvet - was my least favorite of the flight. There was too much strawberry compote considering the size of the waffle. Also I didn't really like the whipped cream cheese on top; again too much for the size of the waffle. * Liege (pearl sugar served with whipped cream and topped with a slice of brown sugar pear). This was a little over cooked but was still delicious. The pear topping made my toes curl.

The restaraunt appeared very dead for the first few hours it was open. A very "home like" space. Some areas of the table were sticky and the syrup bottle had not been cleaned. The music was blasting and my mom kindly asked for it to be turned down a bit because we couldnt hear our own conversation. Nice manager and waiter though. The food was okay. I had fries (very good) but the "red velvet" waffles took away a few points. It just tasted like waffles that were dyed red, with strawberries thrown ontop and powdered sugar. Eh.:/ and the whipped cream stuff would have been a loveley compliment if it didnt have a bitter tart aftertaste. My mother wasnt too fond of the waffles ontop of her egg and cheese as a little creative sandwich because the flavors were conflicting, but she did enjoy them separately. I recommend this to those who enjoy smaller, quiet atmospheres with less people in the early mornings. And good for kids too :)!

Can't comment on the food, but the "wonuts" live up to the hype. Crispy waffle exterior with a chewy doughnut middle. I tried the Oreo, Blueberry Waffle, and White Chocolate Ganache. All were stellar. Hit them up while on the Magnificent Mile.

Items Ordered: Birthday Cake Wonut Lemon Blueberry Wonut Mexican Chocolate Wonut Pound Cake French Toast with Balsamic Berries In search of something sweet after our disappointing lunch at Yum Cha it was to trendy hybrid food that we turned and walking from Millennium Park to Ohio Street in just under fifteen minutes our arrival at Waffles Café found the small store empty, a pile "wonuts" lying in wait alongside a menu of items both sweet and savory. Long, narrow, and clearly redesigned from whatever once stood in its place with tables doubling as chalkboards for youngsters and those young at heart it was too off-kilter service that we were greeted and after being grumbled at for filling my own glass with ice and water an order was placed, a trio of pastries arriving moments later while the kitchen readied our menu selection, a twenty-five minute process that made me wonder exactly how the restaurant would keep pace if it were actually busy. Beginning first with a deep fried white waffle lacquered in overly sweet glaze and a dollop of sprinkled frosting suffice it to say that our first bites of the restaurant's signature item were not only underwhelming but far too oily and progressing onward to a Lemon-Blueberry variant sorely lacking in citrus the theme continued, only the chocolate topped option studded with cinnamon even remotely memorable and still nowhere near as good as many of Chicago's donuts or waffles. Again turning our attention to newly decorated table while beverage refills languished it was after the aforementioned delay that three slices of 'pound cake' French Toast arrived and ignoring the generally unattractive plating I'll simply say "at least it was better than the wonuts," as crumbly bits of cake lightly tossed with custard served as a pleasant backdrop to mushy strawberries that very well may have been frozen plus a drizzle of balsamic that helped remedy a spritz of Rediwhip that I'd have refused if it had been listed in the item's description.

My husband and I live close to waffles but today was the first time we have been here. We were a little confused about the service worked. Did we just sit down? Did we have to order at the counter? It was hard to tell as they only have one waitress who works both the dine in and carry out sections. Once we established we could sit down and someone could serve us, we were pleased with the menu. We both got the eggs and tortillas, which came with guacamole and salsa. yummy! They serve intelligensia coffee and we got a "side" salad which was enough for two for $1.95! It was very yummy with romaine lettuce and a good compliment with eggs. Overall it was a nice brunch with reasonably priced food. A little confused about the ordering process but it was a good quick bite.

Met a friend here the other day and absolutely loved it. I try to eat gluten-free and oftentimes have to avoid waffles but not here! The Cinnamon Sugar wonut was tasty. Reminded me of a churro a but a little lighter. My friend had no clue it was gluten free! My GF waffles (4 small round) with whipped cream and strawberries were perfect! The service was attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back!

The service at Waffles Cafe was embarrassingly bad, and unfortunately the food wasn't good enough to make up for it. We were seated outside by our waiter, who was very nice. We then waited for around 25 minutes to order, during which time nobody brought us so much as a glass of water. Finally we got our orders in and began the long wait for our meals. I don't mind waiting at a busy restaurant, but Waffles Cafe was not busy at all. In all, we dealt with about four different staff members, and they seemed forgetful and continuously passed the buck onto someone else when we inquired after items we had been waiting for or errors in food preparation. Our table shared four wonuts (waffle-donuts), which were great --- far and away the stars of the meal. There was Mexican chocolate, blueberry. Green tea, and turtle. I definitely recommend dropping in to order one or two (to-go). I ordered an omelette, and it just wasn't very good. The accompanying hash browns, however, were quite good. They were pressed in a small waffle iron. The omelette also came with mini waffles which were very boring. I chose them over toast, which I think I would have enjoyed more. Waffles Cafe has a interesting menu. It's unfortunate that the quality isn't up to the calibre of comparable places in the area.

I was really excited to come here. The experience wasn't bad but, it wasn't good either. The wonuts are yummy, especially the maple bacon. I would stop in for this. The rest of the food you can order was not so great. For Chicago, don't waste your time. I would not go back here for breakfast again. I think if I do go back it will be running in for a wonut to go.

Not often do I write reviews and rate it 5 stars, actually I never take the time to write a review but this place was that good! For being a little place it was great! I love breakfast food and I can be picky at times, this place satisfied my needs to the fullest! The waffles are amazing, the Green Tea Pistachio I had was very delicious. I also had an omelette and that came with toasted bread which isn't any type of bread it literally has some type of flavor added to it when toasted! Accompanied by waffle shaped hash browns and sour cream. But their highly recommended waffle that literally felt like a chocolate bomb in your mouth was the Mexican Chocolate waffle, that really topped it off. Freshly squeezed juice! And the cute chalkboard tables brought me back to my childhood. I enjoyed it!

The food was great! The service was amazing! We even got a free white ganache waffle to sample! My coffee was never empty. Definitely coming back again soon.

The food was delish - much fancier than you'd expect in what looks like a small diner. I got the eggs and chorizo and my husband got the chilaquiles. We both don't care for corn tortillas, but they were not the hard/dry kind like you usually find at restaurants, so that was a nice surprise. Now let's talk wonuts. After enjoying the cronut in NYC, I was excited to try this new pastry. I am a lover of all things fried and fatty - but this was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted! I couldn't even down more than one bite. Very disappointing. For the record, I got pumpkin and my husband got green tea. Both were equally foul. 4 stars for the real food!

Fabulous food and service! A friend and I popped in before they closed and our server, Alex H., made us feel comfortable and unhurried while we dined. The food was FANTASTIC! I had the flight of waffles and the flight of hot chocolate. The waffles arrived quickly and were chewy and soft. The hot chocolate flavors were fun and surprising but definitely enjoyable! My only complaint would be that the strawberry topping wasn't fresh strawberries but seemed like frozen. They were good but I understand how difficult it can be to get fresh strawberries this time of year. Everything was wonderful though and I'll certainly be returning for more waffle deliciousness! Bonus; the Cinnamon Sugar wonut is gluten free AND really yummy!

I don't get the middling reviews of this place, because I loved it. The food was good. The service was good. The wonuts are awesome. We had: Chocolate wonuts Chicken and waffle 3 egg omelette with mini waffle side Mini-waffle egg sandwiches

WOW WONUTS! These little guys BLEW MY MIND! I ordered the Red Velvet Wonut in addition to an Egg Scramble with spinach, goat cheese and mushrooms, and a side of mini waffles. The wonuts came out before my meal, and they not only looked amazing but were absolutely delicious. It was like biting into a sweet cloud. My egg scramble quickly followed the wonut, and my order which was enormous. The Egg scramble came with a hash brown shaped like a waffle, and it tasted more like a latka than traditional hash browns. It was delicious. The next time I'm in Chicago I will definitely be back!

Placed an order for wonuts via phone for next day pickup. The customer service on the phone was great and I was able to put in my order easily. I came in to pick up a few minutes before my scheduled time and they were still getting my order together. Everyone was friendly and accommodating so no issue there. The 2 stars is for the wonuts themselves. They are much much smaller in person than they look in pictures. Overall, they were pretty disappointing. I was advised to heat them up before eating, but my party decided to eat them at room temp. They felt a bit soggy and rubbery. Not the melt in your mouth donut feeling you should get. No question that they are strictly waffles with glaze on top. None of the flavors stood out to me either. I probably wouldn't order wonuts again.

Service = absolutely horrible Food = good but when I have to refill my coffee, water and ask for my check from the hostess, it makes the whole experience horrible. The manager needs to manage his employees and stop serving tables. There must have been 5 bus boys wandering about doing nothing and the manager was trying to wait on every single table. I don't see this place being open that much longer

Came here with a Groupon for 12 Wonuts, and should've stuck with those to go and left. Instead we opted for those to go and ordered breakfast to eat there. The eggs benedict on a waffle sounded good, so I tried it. I've had my share of breakfasts in Chicago and this was the first time my breakfast came with an odd salad smashed between two eggs benedicts. The meat in an eggs benedict is usually canadian bacon (ham) or a piece of off the bone ham. Here it's more like dried pulled pork and just wasn't my idea of a good breakfast. The wonuts were good, it's a shame the rest of the experience here wasn't.

I would have given this place a solid 4 stars if it wasn't for the host (I'll get to him in a bit). The food is great, our waitress and the rest of the staff serving tables were attentive and polite. The wonuts are definitely worth the trip, and my Brussels waffle was delicious (I strongly suggest topping it with Nutella). The rest of my table all ordered the Chicken and Waffles and loved it, especially with the spicy syrup. I can't suggest the birthday cake wonut enough, it was delicious! The host though. We had a reservation for 11 am on a Sunday, knowing they'd be packed at that time and wanting to make sure our party of four had a place to sit. We arrived a little early, and one of our party went up to check in. He asked what the name was under, and she told him...then he wanted her name (not the same as the reservation name) and she told him. He put us at the bottom of the list under the new name, and she reminded him that we had a reservation, he reassured her that was fine. Over the next 15-20 minutes, he seated several tables that didn't appear to have reservations ahead of us, some of them with the same number of people. We had to confront him to find out when we were going to be seated. He didn't even walk us back to our table, just pointed at it and waved a little. One of the customers at another table near ours (they had four adults and a child) was in the process of taking one of our chairs to sit on, because they hadn't been seated either and needed a fifth chair for their table. All this, on top of the fact that he seated three people at a six top that came in with no reservation and just barked at him "We're getting seated here, now!" I get that confronting customers isn't comfortable, especially with really entitled assholes, but now the rest of the customers are suffering because someone threw a tantrum. Like I said, the food is delicious and our waitress was charming and lovely. We had people checking on us and refilling our coffee/water regularly. If the host had even at least been pleasant, we would have had a great day. But his attitude and inability to manage the floor soured the experience up front.

This place is really yummy! Holy moly! The wonuts. I am a lover of all donuts, meaning I am a lover of all donut fusion creations as well. Man oh man, these little guys are the best. They're pre-made in the morning so be sure to ask what is still available rather than checking out the menu. I had the birthday cake one. It was absolutely decadent. For my entree I just had the plain and simple, so egg whites, hash browns and turkey sausage. The hash browns are really cool. They make them in the waffle iron so they're shaped like a waffle with a crunchy exterior. It was SO good. They have a GREAT waffle recipe. They're very dense so you don't need much to fill you up. Great place to stop before shopping on Michigan Ave.

So I think we were a little misguided lol. We decided to try this place because, well, the idea of a wonut sounded amazing, anndd I found a groupon. The Groupon was a bit confusing, and I think we ended up not getting the full discount from it... The waitress was new, and I didn't want to make her ring us up a third time, so I just let it go... Other than that, the service was just fine. Also, I must note that the waffle flight is NOT made of wonuts, just regular waffles that when fried become wonuts. Boo. That doesn't mean they weren't good! I didn't particularly like the green tea waffle, but the other ones were tasty. Unfortunately, they got a little soggy after a few minutes...and I really really don't like soggy waffles. It was also a lot of carbs. Thankfully our Groupon allowed us to have a free side each, and the fruit side is a must-have. It came with about 5 different kinds of fruits on the same size plate as the waffle flight! The albondigas + waffle was interesting. Very spicy and just plain waffles. They do serve Intelligentsia coffee and FRESHlly squeezed oj. We bought the Mexican chocolate wonut to-go. It wasn't as amazing as it sounded, but we didn't eat it until the next day so maybe that played a part. I say try it if you are in the area. However, just as I think the cronut is definitely overrated, I might say the same for the wonut...

Dang the wonuts at this place are legit!! We had the white chocolate, cinnamon, and chocolate ganache. Absolutely delicious stuff and I wish we had this in the Houston area. As far as location it is conveniently located off of the magnificent mile on Ohio street. It's a tiny place but we had no problem getting seats. The Service was great and I can't wait to come back to waffle cafe!

My review is just for the wonuts. so delicious! It's a tough call if I like them more than cronuts, they're both so delicious! The wonuts are pretty tiny--don't be fooled by the pictures! This is good, because you can try multiple flavors with your friends (I'd suggest to go with a few and share a couple). This is also bad because I went in expecting something bigger--well, we can't always have what we want, can we? I've only gone in the afternoons, when business was a little slower. They sometimes run out of certain flavors, but if you ask nicely, they might make them again and tell you to come back after a while for some fresh fresh fresh wonuts (perfect for a short stroll along mag mile or shopping in f21). My favorites are the mexican chocolate and the red velvet. Lastly, everybody there is so nice, it's hard not to smile ear to ear when you're inside--both from their friendliness and the delicious, seductive scent of the wonut.

I really really wanted to love this place but I cannot lie it was pretty disappointing! I think they were short staffed and it may have been the manager waiting on us and he was super nice but the confusion and rushing around and forgetting things made it hard to enjoy the experience. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of hashbrowns. A coffee and a fresh squeezed oj. My waffles were doughy.. Very undercooked in the middle and the chicken was down right disgusting. I think they coat the chicken with waffle batter. The hashbrowns were very different as well.. I don't even know how to describe then but I took a picture. My friend ordered the cheddar short rib waffle and a side of bacon. Bacon was fine.. 3 pieces. The waffle was again doughy but the couple of pieces of short rib I tried was good. He said there were a lot of fatty tough pieces though. We didn't have the heart or stomach to try the Wonut after being disappointed. Also we bought a groupon for $22 which includes an entree, a side and a premium drink for two so make sure you purchase that before trying.

We happened upon Waffles Cafe because it was across the street from our hotel (Inn of Chicago). It was an amazing find! The Wonuts were one of the most unique things I had ever eaten and we actually went back the next day because they were that good. We had the pumpkin the first day, and then the birthday cake and mexican chocolate on day 2. I was pleasantly shocked by the quality of the food aside from the waffles also. I got chilequiles which were really exceptional! Over all, can't wait to go back!!!

I was visiting Chicago from out of town. After a 5 hour dive we arrived at our hotel and were hungry! We had never been to Chicago before so we started walking around and stumbled across this gem. Out of our whole trip, this was our favorite place to eat! We ended up coming here twice! Severs were very nice. ORANGE JUICE IS FRESH SQUEEZED AND AMAZING!! I recommend the blueberry wonut and the banana pancakes! Delicious!!! If I ever go back to Chicago, this will be my first stop!

I'm a huge waffle fan, but was a little underwhelmed here - not sure if they are still working out the kinks or if I ordered the wrong things, but I've had better waffle dishes elsewhere. Piggybacking on the whole cronut craze, they make "wonuts", which is more like a donut in a waffle shape. It's definitely more donut in texture than waffle. They do have pretty good flavors available: birthday cake, green tea - make sure you ask for these when you sit down if you want to try one. They only make a certain amount every hour. I tried the green tea wonut and it was good - they are small but shareable between 2 people. I ordered the Waffles Benedict ($12.95) - normally I like sweet and savory in certain combinations, but this was just a little strange. The poached eggs were fine, the pulled pork was delicious and soft, but the waffles were the sweet-ish, denser Belgian waffles that are just better paired with something sweet. I ended up eating the eggs & pork separately and then eating the waffles separately. I think I would have liked this dish a lot better if it had been on a savory waffle, or a plain, fluffier, buttermilk waffle. The service was just okay - they forgot our coffee and we had to ask for it two or three times, and then forgot to bring the skim milk that I wanted several times. I'd still come back here one more time to give it another shot and see if they have worked the kinks out. I do love waffles, so I'd love to see this place succeed, but I was just a bit underwhelmed with my experience. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are reasonable so you'll be able to to eat your dish & have coffee for under $20.

This place is awesome for kids (and adults that act like kids...). The wonuts were awesome. We tried several and all were great. The Brussels waffles were great too. I had the eggs and chorizo were fantastic, as were the huevos rancheros. My kids already want to know when we'll be back!

The service here is literally terrible. It seemed an impossible task for them to figure out how to seat 5 people at a 4 person table. It took forever for us to get water or menus- in fact I got the menus myself from the hostess stand. The wonut order was messed up when we got it, someone in our party had their breakfast forgotten, and then when they brought it out finally, it was wrong. I also think I saw a new kind of creature who had grown/died in the toilet. The wonuts were hard. My actual breakfast meal was decent, though. I would still never go back because it literally hurt my brain watching the staff trying to function.

Not sure what happened to the folks who had those awful problems with their service - mine was fine - though I was so focused on my wonuts I'm not sure I would have noticed much. Come here for the wonuts - come early because they run out of certain flavors - devour those little waffley-donutty delicious treats and then get the heck outta there. There is no ambiance, and really nothing that should bring you or keep you here aside from the wonuts. #wonutlyfe

I purchased two groupons for this place, one to eat in, and one for takeout. It was alright both times, though I much preferred my eat in selection. That time, I tried the chicken and veal burger and was able to order goat cheese and jalapenos on it, a suggestion by the super nice server. I ordered sweet potato fries thinking that would be my side, but the server was going to substitute my waffle fries for them and still gave me another side option, which was awesome, so I tried the mac n cheese. The burger was delicious and I was happy with my toppings and the pretzel bun- the fries were excellent as well. The mac n cheese, however, was super bland, and a huge portion so I felt terrible wasting it. Because it was near closing time, they gave us some green tea wonuts to go and they were just ok- a bit on the sour and soggy side, and you could tell they had been sitting out all day. Their waffle fries are the way to go, by the way. I tried my friend's and was happy I got the sweet potato fries instead only because I would have eaten all of the waffle version and hated myself in the morning. The take out experience kind of sucked. I phoned in my order but then they had issues finding it when I got there. I was going to grab some wonuts as well, but seeing them sitting out with the door open and potential flies sitting on them turned me off from the idea. I ordered a build your own salad and there wasn't much leafy green in it and they forgot the cheese I added. Plus, the added chicken, which cost me $3 extra, was dinky and just looked like sliced deli meat. I wasn't impressed. Oh, and once I tried using the groupon for delivery, because it was for takeout or delivery, but they couldn't deliver because they only had one person working the front and couldn't leave the restaurant. So what's the point of offering delivery then? I'd like to come back to try a waffle sometime, with a side of waffle fries, but i'm not in a rush.

I would say the food is pretty good. Unique waffles. I did not try the wotnut. I'm giving it 2 stars because the service was bad. When we showed up, we stood there wondering if it's a seat yourself situation. When someone came and seated us, we waited a long time before a waiter came to place our order. One the order was placed, the food came in a decent amount of time, but not our drinks. And we just asked for water. It took a long time to get the bill settled too. They weren't that busy...

Delicious! The peppered bacon wonut was really good. I also got the waffle flight, which came with four mini waffles. They were all unique and tasty! I'm a huge red velvet fan and that waffle was my favorite on the plate. The Mexican hot chocolate waffle was a little too sweet for me personally, but it was very authentic in flavor for sure.

I really want to like this place, but it needs some major improvements. Management: please read and make some adjustments so you can have an awesome successful restaurant. First, I was served by two waitstaff. A guy who was excellent, and a woman who was awful. Second, I got the flight of hot chocolate and was given 3 samples, it looked like 1 was missing. Third, the waffles benedict was okay; the pork was really dry. Fourth, your decor is kind of depressing. Not enough ventilation inside and it feels dark, probably partly because of the black ceiling.

Chaos. I came here on a Saturday morning around 9:30 AM because I work in the area, had previously seen the sign for the restaurant, and my fiance was eager to try the green tea waffle. When we walked in the front door we did not know what to do - nobody greeted us or even acknowledged our arrival and we stood awkwardly at the front door for a few minutes until someone pointed at one of the few remaining open tables and said "You can sit." This should have been a sign of what was to come. We were promptly given menus, water, and silverware and then had to wait 10 minutes before a server came back to ask us if we wanted any coffee. We had heard good things about the wonuts so we asked which kinds were available. We were told there were only two kinds and as I was allergic to an ingredient in one of them, opted to split a birthday cake. Again, we waited for about 5 minutes (although the wonuts were ready and sitting out) before our server brought us the wonut. It was really tasty but we were upset to see a fresh batch of wonuts (of many varieties) come out as we were eating ours. Couldn't our server have let us know the others were being prepared and would be ready shortly? We definitely would have ordered a few more to sample. Our waffles came out quickly and everything was fine. Fiance enjoyed the green tea waffle and I had the luge with bananas. It was good, not amazing, but as we do not have a waffle iron at home it was still a special treat. After we received our food, we did not see our server again for about 30 minutes and it seemed like the waitstaff was running around in a disorganized chaotic fashion. Nobody stopped by to see if we liked our food, if we wanted anything else, etc. Even after we finished eating, we waited at least 20 minutes for someone to stop by, clear our plates, and give us our bill. All of this despite the fact that there was a wait at the restaurant and many hungry brunchers waiting to eat. As a summary, wonuts were good, waffles were fine, service was bad. Get carryout.

I really wanted to love this place! Its close to me and I've always seen people crowd around it on weekends...so I thought it had to be great! It took forever for someone to take our order. I ordered waffles with strawberries and neutella, but they were incredibly cheap on the neutella and strawberries. I ate one of the three waffles on my plate because there weren't any strawberries or neutella to eat tue others with. Im not a fan of dry waffles. Also they only had three types of wonuts - all the ones I didnt want!

I was really excited to try the wonut since I spent a whole lot of my time researching for a unique Chicago experience prior to my trip, and I must say it did not disappoint. I visited Waffles Cafe the day after Lollapalooza and so they were swamped with people that came in for the festival. Service was somewhat slow and our server forgot our drinks order but the food definitely made up for it! I wanted to try the "birthday cake" wonut as soon as I saw it on the menu and thought it would have been appropriate since that was also my birthday but they were out of it. So I suggest getting there early. We settled for the green tea and Mexican chocolate wonuts. I was not fond of the green tea one since I thought the flavor was very faint but Mexican chocolate is deliciousness. For the main course, we ordered Abondigas and Waffles Benedict. I absolutely love the waffles benedict, I thought the lightly sweet waffles goes very well with the savory pulled pork, add some hot sauce to that and you have perfection. My friend had the abondigas and he loved his dish just as well. Overall, I give this place a thumbs up!

To my surprise this Waffle breakfast egg & bacon sandwich was great. I have been walking pass this café for about a year finally this morning I went in to grab a bite to eat. The café was fresh and clean and the food did not take that long to prepare. I will consider some of the other options on their menu in the near future.

I have been here twice. The first time was in May, and it was fab. I got the chicken and waffles, my cousin got the red velvet waffles, and the other person we were with got a couple Wonuts. We used a Groupon and were very happy with the service and how great the food was. I returned last weekend with a party of 6. We called ahead of time to reserve space, and I was glad that they had enough seating for everyone, even though the setup was a little different than it had been when I was there the first time. When I called, I asked whether they had alcohol, and the man I spoke to said "no", but that it was BYOB, which is almost better. Since this was the case, everyone in my party brought a bottle of champagne and/or a tall boy. When we were seated, we asked for a (ice) bucket and a bottle opener, which since this place is a BYOB establishment would not have been a problem, however that was not the case. We were told there was only ONE bucket available and no one seemed to know where to find a bottle opener. To be fair, one of the employees did go next door to the 7Eleven to try and purchase one for us, but returned instead with a beer bottle opener, which obviously was not very helpful. The food arrived, and I was disappointed with the temperature of my food. A few other people at my table also said their food was also cold. I don't know whether they just had it sitting out while preparing everyone else's food? But, c'mon we had a party of 6, not 16, it is not hard to pop things into the microwave or place them in on a heated shelf. It was just poor service and I was pretty put off by the staff and their "help". The whole thing was incredibly frustrating. Based off of my most recent visit, I probably wouldn't go back. Service should be consistent and hot food should never, EVER be served cold.

Bought a groupon for the place, at first wasn't sure how good it was going to be...but it was probably the best restaurant I've been to! Our wait or which I believe was the owner was incredibly helpful, and will work with you so incredibly nice!!! And food wait wasn't too long. The wonut was delicious and is one of a kind as well as the hash browns which are in the shape of a wonut and were so yummy. Everything is really good!! And he gives a bunch of food! Check it out, only place in the world to get wonuts a donut and a waffle ahhhh

This place just opened last Saturday and is a combination breakfast/sandwich place. The food is innovative & delicious. I just devoured a ham & cheese savory waffle order (with a fried egg & served on 3 perfectly made waffles), while my fiance got the cheddar & short rib waffles (also on 3 waffles, and with a LOT of meat!). While the prices are not necessarily the cheapest breakfast items you can find, the quality and portion size is worth it. The centerpiece of this place that will likely pull the people in is the "wonut," or waffle donut. This is no joke. I just shared a red velvet wonut with my guy & almost bat the last piece out of his hand because I wanted it for myself. It is perfectly tender & rich, with delicious frosting on top. Beware, this one had nuts on it, for those of you who are allergic. These little guys come in a variety of flavors and are the density of a donut but in a waffle shape. Basically, they make a donut-shaped waffle & then deep fry it. SO GOOD. The place also has other more traditional breakfast items (sweet waffles, etc.), and a slew of sandwiches. It's fantastic and I'll definitely be going back (especially because it's in my building)!!

Like a previous reviewer, I tried stopping by twice and both times the sign said "Closed" even though it should have been open. Alas, 3rd time was the charm. It was empty when I entered and the interior was quite drab, but I was on a mission to try these elusive wonuts, so I didn't let it bother me. Overall, the wonuts -- red velvet, birthday cake and turtle -- were quite tasty. I am in no hurry to come back, but I will stop by if in the area again. Hopefully management will fix its impromptu closing problems and maybe even fix up the décor because I do think this place has potential.

Had my 1st Wonut here ever!! We had the small circular green tea wonut, chocolate, red velvet, and birthday cake. I personally loved the green tea one although it wasn't VERY flavorful. The chocolate was very decadent, a little to sweet for me. Red velvet and birthday cake I really liked as well...sooo I'm pretty much saying that you can't go wrong :) The manager (?) I think, is extremely nice so that was a plus!

We came here for Saturday brunch just to try it out. We usually head to Yolk or Wildberry but figured this place is closer and could potentially wow us. Interior is pretty bare, simple chairs and tables, and semi-open kitchen. Service staff is a bit disorganized as we weren't sure who was taking orders versus filling waters or playing hostess. When the restaurant is full, it can get quite hectic and you could wait a while before being noticed or helped. The good: the build your own omelet was delicious! They pack it with your choice of ingredients and it tastes fresh and very filling. they serve intelligentsia coffee which is always good and they kept our cups filled The bad: we waited a while for our orders even though the place wasn't super busy; we tried the waffle sampler. it arrived cold, each waffle had an inconsistent texture, some were mushy and not fully cooked, another was too crunchy, and each waffle is TINY. given that the place is a sampler, we expected as such but each waffle was literally 3-4 bites. the fresh squeeze OJ is served in a giant glass filled with ice so the juice is diluted and tastes like nothing. definitely not worth the $4.50. A ton of people came in hoping to try the "Wonut" or the waffle+donut; except they ran out for the day. I wonder what the big hype is! Perhaps the next "cronut"? In short, we were not completely satisfied with our meal. Yes we were full but it did not satisfy the brunch craving. We probably won't be visiting again.

I came here a few weeks ago with 4 coworkers for lunch. We were the only ones sitting, but quite a few people came in for take-out. Service was really slow, which was surprising because, as I mentioned, we were the only table. For us all to order and eat our food, it did take about an hour. I got the huevos rancheros, which was very good--and filling too. Some of the other dishes my coworkers got looked pretty basic, but they all seemed to enjoy it. I was very excited to try the wonut. So I tried it. And...I mean, I don't get it. It's just a donut in the shape of a tiny waffle, right? It was good, but I'm not crazy about it. I had the chocolate wonut, and I also sampled the red velvet. The bottom line is that the main entrees are really good, but the wonuts aren't what will pull me back in.

I saw the menu and was very intrigued and ready to buy 4 different wonuts. However, I found out they only have certain ones baked each day. They only make you a "special order" if you want to order flavors off the menu that were not baked that day. We got there around 3-4pm, so there were only 5 choices left. Only 2 of them sounded appealing but they guy convinced us they were all good, of course, so we got 3. Chocolate turtle- OK, but totally reminded me of a chocolate dunkin donut Green tea- ewwwwwwwwwww, never again Red velvet- OK They were all dry, probably because they had been sitting out all day. They were also very tiny. I think they were $2.25 to $3.00 each. I'll give them credit for creativity- the texture of it taste like a waffle in the beginning and then at the end, it just taste like a dunkin donut. Idk, maybe they taste a whole lot better fresh... but I personally would not come back again. The guy that helped us was super nice though!

My wife and I were planning a visit to Chicago from Houston and found a deal on LivingSocial for Waffles Cafe and decided to give them a shot. The offer stated that it wasn't good on holiday weekends and we were visiting on Valentine's Day so we emailed the restaurant to see if we would be able to use it. Alex, the owner, responded confirming that we were all good. When we got to the restaurant, it was a moderately busy Saturday morning. We were seated quickly and placed our order. The coffee was good, the selection of specialty hot chocolates was fantastic. We each had a waffle flight and their hashbrowns made in a waffle iron. Everything was delicious and our server happened to be the owner. The restaurant was busy but the staff was helpful and attentive. If we didn't live so far away, we'd definitely love to go back.

BEWARE random closing times! I just came back from a trip to Chicago. Went to visit this location on two separate occasions. On 7/5/14 around 2:30 or so, I went to have a meal and redeem a groupon but I was welcomed with a locked door and a closed sign. There were still lights on and people inside. A customer walked out of the restaurant and I walked inside to speak with someone. A man greeted me ( assumed it was the manager) and let me know that the restaurant was closed due to "kitchen" issues and that the restaurant would be open again the next day and the issues would be resolved. I left and decided to wait an additional day for any issues to be cleared up. Went back to the restaurant on 7/7/14 around 6:30 and found another locked door and closed sign. This time there were no people inside and was completely dark. The website and store front states the restaurant closes each day at 8pm. The website did not mention any early closing times There was no sign on the door stating why they were closed earlier than their posted hours of operation. To top it off, my girlfriend called the number on the door to speak with someone about the issue and left a message. The message has still never been responded to as of the date of this review. Terrible experience.

Got to try wonuts recently and they were really fun and tasty. Sampled a variety, including Mexican Chocolate, White Chocolate, Banana, and a Sugary one (don't know the exact flavor name). They even had gluten free. They were about $2-ish a piece. I would try again!

I was on vacation in Chicago for 3 days and my friends and I ate at Waffles Cafe every morning. The service was AMAZING. Every server was super friendly and attentive. I tried breakfast and lunch foods; My favorite breakfast items: WONUTS! The red velvet was delicious. And the hashbrowns side dish came in the form of a waffle. It was so flavorful! I tried the turkey sandwich with waffle fries. EVERYTHING with the word waffle in it is DELICIOUS here. I will absolutely be coming back here when I visit again.

I was in Chicago for a work conference with some friends and one of them had looked up must-try restaurants including this one. I ordered the Mexican chocolate waffles and was not disappointed. I was worried I might get brown batter with little or no chocolate flavor, but the waffles had a rich chocolate flavor and a nice crispy and chewy texture. The orange cream was a perfect compliment. My friends tried savory (short rib and cheddar) and gluten-free and they were both pleased with their waffles. The wonuts, on the other hand, were disappointing. I'm not sure if it's because we took them to go or because they were on a rack and not fresh, but I only ate a couple bites of each (blueberry and birthday cake) and tossed the rest. They were like greasy sponges in look, texture, and flavor. I would say go for the waffles and skip the wonuts--they are a novelty whose time has not come.

I got the pound cake French toast and it was amazing. Great flavor and the pound cake made it unique. I would recommend this place to anyone. We wanted to eat at The Yolk due to great reviews but this place was worth it with no wait!

It was a cute place. The fresh squeezed Orange juice was tasty too. The wonut was yummy! The waffles weren't anything to right home about though. They definitely needed to be crispier . The staff was pleasant and I loved how the tables were chalkboards.

Went for the Wonuts (Obviously), was told they ran out at 9am. Apparently the Wonut fairy only comes once a day. I hate when places do this just to create buzz. Opted for the Waffle flight since I was already there and pretty hungry. Included a green tea waffle, Mexican chocolate, berry and red velvet. Overall pretty tasty, but nothing that stands out as worth a special trip or the price tag. Ya know what, I'll make my own Wonuts.

Slow service and mediocre food Tried visiting during Sunday morning - it was definitely busy but not packed. After getting seated it took 10 minutes to get coffee and water. 5 minutes more to get someone to take an order. 15 minutes for food (an omelette straight off the menu). 10 minutes for check. Omelette was just approaching cold and bland. Hash browns (cleverly smashed into a waffle shape) tasted like it had been made with week-old grease...really awful. Maybe it was just my server or something, but it was not worth it. I wish I had gone to Einsteins across the street instead. I live in the neighborhood - trust me there are much better options within walking distance of this place. Dunkin' Doughnuts would have been a far better choice. Another note - inside the restaurant was HOT. Not just mildly uncomfortable - HOT - when the outside temperature was only mid-70's.

I was wondering why a new cool concept in a fancy neighborhood has no business, after a visit I know why. I ordered takeout, only coming home to find that they missed my order! They didn't give me everything I ordered but charged for everything. I didn't check the package before I left, that's my bad, but they weren't even busy! It was 6:30pm, no one was there and they cannot get my order right! I'm not going back ever.

Saw an article about this place and their Wonuts and had to check it out!! We went in a group so we got to try a bunch of the waffle dishes! We had to wait a bit for our food, so be sure to allow some extra time here, but in the end it was worth it. I had the waffles Benedict. The roasted pork should was amazing and the eggs perfectly poached! The chicken and bacon waffles were also good, the Albondiga had awesome sauce and meatballs, and the shortrib and cheddar waffles were tender with a great sauce. Definitely going back. Probably tomorrow!

Wow do they ever have good breakfast/brunch here! Don't let the exterior/sign fool you, it's really more delicious than it looks. And the service is super nice. My favorite dish was a scramble I ordered with spinach, mushrooms, swiss and onions. They carmelized the onions. OMG. Above and beyond. The savory waffles are great. Pro tip: don't get waffles to go. They steam themselves in the to-go container. Nobody likes a soggy waffle.

The is a small but delicious neighborhood gem. Great variety of burger's. Fries included - now thats awesome. At the end of your meal, wrap it up with a wonut.

Come early before all the good stuff is gone. Very small breakfast diner. Good food. The server couldn't really answer a lot of questions about the menu. Used a Living Social so it was worth it.

  • Brittany K.

Came in here on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm with some girlfriends. We went ahead and bought the living social for $40 worth of food, and glad we did because the bill easily went over $70 for four people. I ordered the waffle flight. While it looked SO pretty, the flavors fell kind of flat. The waffles were a little too dense and chewy. The liege was not as crispy and sugar-y as a traditional liege. Overall my favorite was actually the green tea, which was surprising. It had the most flavor and the sauce on top was not overly sweet. My two other friends got the chicken and waffles and LOVED it. Four huge pieces of bacon waffle with two drumsticks! Be wary, the syrup that is served with it has a lot of pepper and spice to it! Definitely had a kick to it. At $9 we buckled and got the carafe of fresh-squeezed orange juice, very much needed after a long night of drinking. Overall, it was a good experience and decent food, it can be quite expensive if you don't come armed w/ a Groupon or Living Social

So my first experience with a wonut was that it was a pleasant surprise. I got the red velvet and the texture was slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Very tasty indeed. But they didn't have all the flavors they advertised so apparently you have to get there at a certain time to see what's fresh. By the time we got there they only had three options and we were a little disappointed. Needless to say I ordered a separate waffle and it was very good. One note about service, this place gets completely full on the weekends so expect service to be a little slow. But once you bite down on that infamous wonut I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Heard good things about this place but was underwhelmed. Tried the cheddar and short rib waffles. They were only ok, in my opinion. Husband had the pound cake French toast. He thought they were good, but nothing special. Didn't get to try the mythical wonuts.

  • Beth M.

The wonut I got (red velvet) was too heavy and greasy - not sure if it was just a bad batch, or if the concept is less than brilliant. The portions were huge and the food was very good. It's got a great casual vibe - a lot like a diner, actually. Great convenient location if you're in that area, not in the thick of the Mag Mile madness but central and easy to find. I'll be back when I'm down that way again.

I had a pretty frustrating experience with Waffles Cafe. I ordered blackberry iced tea mozzarella sticks and a waffle with berries, which took a fairly long time to arrive. I was seated close to the kitchen, so I saw my mozzarella sticks cooked and placed on a plate, and then I watched them grow cold for twenty minutes. Literally I watched them, and my server went past them multiple times. Other dishes went out and were served after my sticks, and when I finally got them they were not good because cold breaded cheese isn't a good combo. My waffle wasn't anything special either, and they forgot my berries. My iced tea tasted vile, almost like ketchup. I would give them one star if not for the wonuts which are pretty good. I'm never going to sit down there again, and if anything will just get wonuts there to go from now on.

I really wanted to love this place. I've walked past it many times and my first impression was a bad one from the start. Within weeks of opening, they always seemed to make there own hours. The hours were posted on the door but they seemed to close hours earlier and sometimes in the middle of the day, closed again. I overlooked this because it was new and I thought maybe they needed "time" to get established. The first time I walked in, the guy I spoke with...I'm pretty sure he was the manager (skinny dark hair tattoos) was very short and kinda rude. It was my first time in and I was asking questions and he seemed bothered. I left without buying anything. Today was my second time going in. I called beforehand to ask about the wonuts. They sell out quick and I wanted to be sure if I stopped in, that they would have some. The girl reassured me over the phone that yes they would have them and that the lady that makes them was actually there today and that they wouldn't "run out" I walked in...the setup was a little confusing, I wasn't sure where I was suppose to place my order. I walked to the back and the same manager was there that I encountered the first time. He looked up and I said "can I order here?" He responded "yeah". After standing for several minutes and people walking past me, he said "what can I get you" I ordered a wonut and he said "I don't think we have any of those already made" Apparently they have some made that sit on a rack in the front counter. He didn't explain that to me. I had to walk around the store and basically figure things out on my own. I decided on a different wonut (that was already made and sitting on the rack). It wasn't that good and the service sucked. This manager is truely horrible and needs some lessons in people skills. I won't be back and will make sure to tell friends and family to skip this place and head across the street to Dunkin doughnuts.

As of today I can't say service has improved from the previous reviews. The staff are nice people but don't seem to have a clue how to handle busy crowds. Made reservations but didn't make a difference. Still took an hour to sit and 30 minutes to get our food even though the place was now half empty. However, great looking food and very tasty.

New restaurants should be like brand new cars - crisp, clean, with a sense of excitement in the air. Everybody loves that new car smell. When I walked into Waffles Cafe this morning, the place was quite busy and hectic. I was escorted to the "waiting area" in the back (made up of three chairs). While looking at the menu, something caught my eye - the world's biggest cockroach was crawling on the ground right next to me. Maybe he was just chilling out waiting for the next table to become available. Or maybe he was hanging out with his friends, helping to prepare the next batch of waffles or wonuts. Or maybe he was the restaurant's greeter in the waiting area. I mean, a man's gotta make a living somehow. Needless to say, I cannot remember the last time I saw a cockroach in a restaurant, and I ended up losing my appetite - that thing should have been caught and put in a museum - it was huge! I ended up turning in the menu and heading to another restaurant. For breakfast, I'll stick with Yolk and Wildberry.

Yes, it's a divey little hole in the wall but they don't pretend to be anything else and the food is delicious so what the hey, right! Go early if you want to try their famous Wonuts because they sell out fast! As for me - just loved the Chilaquiles - scrambled eggs with tortilla and tasty salsa. Yum! I'd recommend a stop for some nice, inexpensive but tasty grub just a block or two away from the craziness of Michigan Ave.

The food was great! Went with a group and we all ordered various meals...a chicken pesto sandwich, cheeseburger, omlets, eggs and of course waffles. Everything was amazing and everyone loved their food. They include a "waffle" theme with every meal. My potatoes with my omlet were shaped like a waffle, the sandwiches came with waffle fries..so cute! Service was good and price was very reasonable.

Just got some wonuts to go. First of all, the hours listed on yelp are wrong for this location, they open at 7am. Maybe it's because it's a Wednesday, or because wonuts aren't entirely known yet, but it wasn't busy at all at that time. They had 3 flavors at the time I went that others have already listed: Red Velvet, Mexican Chocolate, and Green tea. It's an interesting (good interesting) texture, not as soft as say Doughnut Vault, but almost like a light version of an old-fashioned donut. The Mexican chocolate had a nice crisp around the edges, either burnt (still good) or an actual cookie crumb covering, that was pretty awesome. Red velvet, again, more cake-y. Green tea i haven't tried yet, saving it for my fianceé. Overall though, they were pretty good. I don't know if its stolen my heart like doughnut vault, but it's something i'd definitely get again. Btw, i got 6 and it came out to like $14. on second thought, just kidding, they were terrible, don't go, don't want the lines to get long ;)

The wonut is like nothing I've ever eaten before. It is delicious. Very rich. Something I'm glad I got to try while out here in Chicago. I sampled all the ones they had and red velvet was my favorite.

Came here for the wonuts, and ended up trying chocolate banana I think. It was definitely banana something! Overall, the wonut was good, and I would like to return to try other flavors. The reason this place gets 3 stars is because the customer service is painfully lacking. I showed up on a Saturday afternoon and the place was not busy at all. No one was there to greet or seat me, so I was awkwardly just looking around to try to figure out how I could buy a wonut. Finally a cook from the back asked me if I needed help, and let me know there were no wonuts, but a batch would be ready in about ten minutes. So I sat at a random table and this clueless waiter walks over with zero social skills. Then the guy who I guess was supposed to seat me came over to the table and he also just seemed overwhelmed, which is interesting because the place was not busy at all. At the table next to me was a worker going through receipts and it just looked like a chaotic mess. And why was he doing the bookkeeping out in the open? Finally the wonuts came out and the guy who was supposed to seat me helped me pick one and rang me up. So I finally got what I was came for, but I just don't get why all of the workers seemed clueless. Also, if they aren't going to have every type of wonut available, they should do like Sprinkles and serve certain wonuts on certain days so you know what to expect when you show up. When the batch I waited ten minutes for came out, I believe it only had 6 flavors, which would have been a huge let down if none of them were the one I wanted.

Terrible - I would never go back. The store had advertised specials on a sign out front, which I ordered. When I got the bill, the price was higher than advertised. The server could not give an explanation and did nothing about it. The food was nothing special and the service was terrible. I was there in the morning and the only one in the place, the waiter never came back to check on me and I had to ask for the bill.

Not sure why they only sell yesterday's wonuts. Would be better if they were made fresh. Also if they ever had any available. Very amateur and felt thrown together at best. We had to wait for about ten minutes while the host just ignored us even though there were open tables.

I was in town for Memorial Day Weekend and heard all about wonuts. I'm not a huge fan of donuts but I liked the Mexican Mocha one because it wasn't too sweet. However, it wasn't as amazing as I expected it to be.

Unique experience when visiting Chicago. Our 3 teen-aged children loved the place because of their unique Wonuts, while I was impressed with their more traditional breakfast foods. Wonuts don't look very healthy, but they'll give you and your kids something to tell your friends about when you get back home.

I should preface this review by saying that although I love breakfast foods, I'm not a waffle connoisseur as some are. That said, however, I thought this place was delicious! My husband and I stopped in during an off peak time and were seated and served promptly and courteously. Everything on the menu looked great, but we decided on the Chicken & Bacon Waffle, and the Ham and Cheese Waffle. Both were delicious and savory. My fried chicken was very tasty and fresh along with my bacon infused waffle (though I'd suggest adding some syrup just for some moisture). My husband's waffle was gone before I could really taste it which I took as a good sign and had a tasty cheese sauce along with it. I tried their fresh squeezed orange juice which was very refreshing, and then, on a whim, we ordered their hash browns and a side of mozzarella sticks, too (we were starving). The mozzarella sticks were pretty standard, though I'd still say above average, and we loved the hash browns. Though, I'd really call them waffle potato pancakes rather than hash browns (they are small waffle shaped potato pancakes. So fluffy and tasty!). On the way out we ordered the int hot chocolate which was VERY chocolatey and perfect for a cold Chicago day. Definitely would go back again for some breakfasty/savory goodness!

Feeling like lunch food, I dated to eschew the waffles in favor of the pulled short rib panini. I was not disappointed! The sandwich was delicious; the meat was tender and flavorful and the cabbage and spicy aioli were great complements. The "small" side of waffle fries that came with it was anything but small. The fries were hot, crispy, and full of flavor, but were quite greasy. A few small things bring the 4-4.5 stars on the food down to a 3 star overall rating. First, is cleanliness. I immediately got maple syrup on my hand from the menu. Considering that they are laminated, cleaning them after after somebody's mountainous waffle breakfast should be a given. Second, there were several small insects on the wall. Nothing flew around or ventured near my table, but unpleasant nonetheless. Second, my order was slightly off. I asked for wheat bread and I got white. Also, pretty sure that the sandwich was supposed to have shredded carrots but I got chopped cauliflower instead. Lastly, the charge on my coffee was ridiculous - $3 for a small mug, which I understand is priced for unlimited refills, but I got no refills and there's a large menu on the wall that lists a 12oz to-go coffee for $1. Seems like that should have been offered to me.

I have been here twice. Ironically, the first time there I really didn't feel like having a meal with waffle as main feature, so I decided on an omelette. You can pick 5 ingredients, so I ended up with tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, goat cheese and ... um forgot the fifth one. sorry. I also upgraded my toast to a mini waffle. I couldn't very well eat here without trying a waffle. I also ordered a cup of coffee. My second visit I ordered a Waffle Benedict. Waffles, Pork Shoulder, Eggs, Hollandaise sauce. Sounds good right? the place__ My first impression was that I liked the feel of the interior, but the lighting was a little depressing and didn't match the upbeat vivid colors of the great chairs in the space. I decided to sit outside. On the second visit, I ended up sitting inside as it was a little chilly in the shade. I still found the lighting awkwardly dim. There was no music playing inside which maybe felt more strange as there were only a handful of others eating besides our table of four. Something else a little bizarre was that to use the washroom in the back hallway, there are keys you have to use, but they are not labeled men or women. So I had to guess. I guessed wrong. Oh well. Not a dealbreaker. the food__ The coffee was decent. Not one refill though the entire sitting and the waiter more or less abandoned us after delivering the food. I was able to grab a cup to-go, though. The omelette came off really dry, so no points for them there. My favorite item was the mini waffle. Very light overall, with a nice crunchy texture on the outside. I don't remember what type of syrup they offered up, but I suspect it wasn't 100% maple. I could be wrong though. On visit 2, coffee was still decent. Waffles Benedict was pretty decent, but nothing truly amazing. Tepid reviews from the three friends I went to lunch with as well. the service__ First time, the service was decent, not stellar. The saving grace, was a somewhat friendly manager who checked in on at the end of our meal. The second time, we were greeted by smile-less waitress as she walked by carrying some waters and then pointed at menus in a container and saying she'll be with us shortly. We sat ourselves and cleaned the table of a leftover water glass and napkin. A busser came over to take our drink order and we finally ordered and got our food. At least three of us did. Not a good sign when the place isn't busy and the kitchen doesn't time out the orders so they arrive together. The waitress kind of just dropped off three of the orders and kept walking. She didn't notice that we still hadn't gotten silverware either. I had to get up to ask to find out that the fourth order was still working and to get us silverware as well. Overall, waitstaff seems lacking on experience and personality. I wanted this place to be more together. After going twice and being underwhelmed both times, I will be hard pressed to revisit a third time. But maybe I'll think about giving the wonuts (part waffle, part donut) a try at least. And maybe I'll just get it to-go.

Went there with my wife on a Groupon. We were staying at the very fancy Peninsula hotel for a getaway night, so this was quite a change of pace! It was a very unique meal at a cute little cafe. It is very non-descript on the outside. But it is worth the trip! Our server, a trainee, was very friendly and helpful. I had the Huevos Rancheros. It was very good! They probably should have warned about the Jalapenos on top, but they were easy to pick off. My wife had an egg scramble dish that she enjoyed. The fresh fruit was excellent also! We had to take the wonuts home to try them!

I wanted to like it. Everything looked pretty good, but ultimately it didn't taste very good. I ordered scrambled eggs and was disappointed to find that they were not real eggs. The pork sausage lacked flavor and the coffee was just average. The pancakes were very heavy and doughy and ultimately had to be sent back because they were raw in the middle. The menu said they would come with fresh fruit, but instead were served with a compote, which I suspect to have come out of a freezer. Like I said, I wanted to like it and the staff were friendly. They were happy to replace the pancakes with waffles and not charge me for either. But in the end, these issues need to be taken care of before this place will take off as a business.

Our son pointed this spot out and really was looking forward to trying it out! VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED! Ran out of the "famous" Wonuts which we understood (sort of...). It had a nice crowd but not busy, so I have no explanation for the poorest service we have experienced in our entire 7 days in downtown Chicago. The food did nothing to minimize the poor service, everything was doughy! The waffles doughy, tasteless! Pancakes awful and how you mess up scrambled eggs is beyond me. We travel here at least 5-6 times a year, this won't make our list of "must go to". Very disappointed all around

Just ok, actually not that ok. Reasonably priced and a kid friendly menu would be the highlights. Everything about our experience would've been exceedingly average until we had to use the bathrooms. Think truck stop, not restaurant- ruined entire experience

Red velvet waffles were great. No need for syrup as waffles were lightly sweetened with powder sugar and strawberry cream. Hash browns were the best, hands down. Staff was helpful and service was quick. Would definitely recommend for a brunch on your day off.

  • Hannah B.

The waffles are good, very light. My main issue was that they don't give near enough toppings, probably as much as you'd typically have on one waffle as opposed to the three waffles that they give you. The coffee is pretty good and the server was nice enough. I'd recommend against getting the wonuts though. They're cute but we thought they tasted more like cooking oil that anything else.

I live very close to Waffles and frequent the spot often. For brunch, they can be busy, so we try to go early so you can get the best wonut selection (the cinnamon sugar one is so good with Intelligentsia coffee they serve). I also love the chilaquiles (so, so good), especially if you want something savory -- I'm vegetarian and you can get them with vegetables instead of meat. I have a sweet tooth and prefer wonuts to the waffle selection.

This place was amazing! We went this morning for breakfast around 9am with our two year old. My husband got the waffle egg sandwiches. They came with egg, cheese and choice of meat. Also accompanying were two slices of watermelon and the cutest and most delicious waffle shaped hashbrowns. The hashbrowns had a really good flavor and had a dollop of sourcream on the side. I had a plain latte with my pick your own ingredient omelet. The omelet was just right for me, not too greasy, not too fluffy. It also came with the hashbrowns, which again are delicious. I had the choice of toast, pancakes or mini waffles as a side...I opted for the waffles...Pretty good with fresh whipped butter. We ordered the cinnamon "wonut" for our two year old and they brought it immediately. We also got her the side of fruit which was a VERY generous portion and variety of grapes, banana, oranges, pineapple, watermelon, and strawberries. Service was great, highchair available, and sweet little atmosphere. Our total for all that plus a large apple juice was $42. I'm bummed we don't live closer!!!!

Very disappointing. I selected chicken and waffles and it was not good. The chicken was gray. Yes, gray. And it tasted like it had been in the freezer too long. . No crispy skin, no flavor. The waffle would have tasted better if it was warm. It wasn't. My husband got the waffle flight. It looked good, but it was lukewarm. $42 later (food, coffee, juice) and we feel disgusted. Will never go again.

I like the theme and it looks like they have chef inhere but poor decoration and atmosphere! Poor flavor and not fresh made. Very expensive for what you get and not much experience!

Happened upon this place after trying to get into a different restaurant that was super crowded. It seemed a little disorganized when I walked in - I didn't know if I should seat myself, order standing up & then find a table, wait to be seated, or what. Once we got that out of the way (still not sure of the rules), everything was great. I ordered the waffle sandwich & it was yummy. The staff was attentive even though I could never really figure out which server was actually mine. Could be a Chicago thing, I don't know. I would definitely go back.

This place is great. Thanks Alex for our delicious breakfast for lunch a few weeks ago! Loved the potatoes! Great addition to the neighborhood, will be back soon!

Interesting, delicious new takes on breakfast staples. Four of us ate there- we got the red velvet waffles (heavenly), eggs with chorizo (delicious), and plain waffles and pancakes. Everything was good and the server was very friendly. Price was reasonable.

Well, the food wasn't inedible. But I really was pulling for this place since its close to home. Had the waffle sandwiches, which were ok, but nothing to get crazy about, and i love breakfast sandwiches. The turkey means turkey sausage by the way. The service really needs to work out its kinks though. Took quite a while for my order to be taken, as I was watching their one server chatting it up with another table. Whats funny is I saw a table sit down after me have the same problem of waiting and telling a busboy that they are ready to order. Im all for friendly service, but it comes to the point when you know you have other tables waiting, you can always go back. Then when my order was finally taken, I ordered my meal along with their so-called Wonut. Heres where it added insult to injury. After I finished my meal, I was waiting for my Wonut and he served me the wrong flavor. I corrected him and he said they sold out of it. Whats funny is that he offered me the flavor as I ordered, and I actually overheard him take the order and serve the table behind me after me, the same flavor wonuts I had ordered. It just left me with a very negative experience of the place. Maybe I need to check this place out later after they work out service kinks, and I guess I should give it another try for the actual food.
