Sports Corner! What did you do to yourself?! Once upon a time there were two feisty young Cubs fans, who loved cheap beer, tater tots, and watching games with smarmy old men in dirty bars. They had two favorite bars, one on the northside, and one on the southside. One day, one of the young ladies spied, out of the corner or her right eye on the red line, that their northside bar had been demolished to shreds. "Oh noes! Wherever will we be able to wear our blues!?", she gasped. After furiously texting her friend, and a few short googles, they discovered that their charming, dirty, old man bar was going to be "renovated" into a "Restaurant and Lounge". Sad So the girls waited. And waited... then... it had arrived... the first night game of the year! Now was their chance to check it out. The girls knew it was a bad sign when the Cap'n and his Wenches walked in. No thanks. After slamming some Old Styles, they went to the game. After a rousing Cubs victory, they returned to their spot, only to find it OVER RUN with the least desirable of folks in Wrigleyville: Bandwagon Cubs AND Hawks fans, trixies, Cougars, and Pumas. UGH. No thanks. Give me my old bar, and some tots ANY day.

This is definitely a 4-star place for a Cubs fan. It is right in the thick of things whenever a game is going down. The beer on tap is pretty good (312, Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada, Blue Moon, etc). The food was alright, but my chicken fingers didn't come with fries, so they were kinda expensive for the price and only getting 3. I wouldn't rec you get them. I'd have to warn people that this place is big (3 levels) and can seem pretty empty when there isn't a Cubs game, weekend, or the Hawks winning playoff games. Overall, the staff was friendly and the place looks cool. Lots of well placed TVs to catch the game on. I gave it five stars because the Lakers crushed Boston by 22 points and then I came within 3 feet of the Stanley Cup on my way out. So, 4-stars for you... 5-stars (because that's the max) for me.

This place will get the job done. Post or pre cubs. It has got to get done somewhere. Word.

Disturbingly bad service and consideration when they screwed up. Owner is also a piece of trash, love bringing guests to town and have them treated like that such, an embarrassment. If you are visiting Chicago stay away

I've been here a few times since they reopened and I have been pleasantly surprised. It's always clean, my servers are good, and their food is decent. The location is wonderful and it's a very large space. They have an outdoor beer garden, which is phenomenal in nice weather. It's one of the bars in Wrigleyville where I can go and not worry about dbag city.

I came here after a Cubs game on a Friday (8-19-11) to drink on the company tab. You should know that I am not really the kind of person that requires a certain type of drinking environment to have fun so on that principle, I do not regard my review to be biased in any way. It's really about who you're with more than about where you are, right? However, per the reviews below, yes, I was expecting obnoxious Cubs fans but the real problems were as follows: - Being that I wasn't paying for my drinks, of course I ordered all Grey Goose. Whatever I got had way too much bite to be top quality liquor, and I never got what I'd asked for (Sprite instead of OJ, ew). Mind you, I walked into this place being fairly sauced as it was, in which case I should've been pretty numbed to the taste of the drink, but given the caliber of the so-called mixology, my palate could not ignore what was invading it. There was one male bartender handling the entire tab for my company and he wasn't friendly or accommodating at all, just passive with a pretty douchey demeanor. - Music was super, super loud... at 4 in the freakin afternoon - louder than I've ever experienced at Soundbar, even. Seriously? - The top level rooftop patio was closed for a private party. Kinda disappointing but lucky them, because it was a gorgeous day I didn't have any of the food so I can't speak for that, but I was pretty much on the verge of losing my lunch anyways because my drinks were so disgusting. Not disgusting as in too strong, because believe me, for a tiny girl, I love strong drinks. I'm talking disgusting as in cheap-liquor, sour/cheap/possibly expired juice. Pretty much lost my buzz due to that too. Overall I'll give the place 2 stars because you're getting exactly what you'd expect from the Wrigley Wradius so I suppose you can't complain much. That and it's undeniably a great location. I will not be back though.

I am torn in my opinion of the Sports Corner. On the one hand, it's full of creeps and tools. Wankers and wankettes. Loud, annoying people everywhere, singing along loudly w/ Dave Matthews or whatever lame mid 90s garble is coming out of the sound system. On the other hand, a good friend's sister is a bartender there. (I can see why she does it. The place must be a mint during games.) So, it's hard to knock a place when they discount your drinks like that. I guess the major take-away is that I'd NEVER EVER EVER go to this place during a Cubs game or when the Cubs are even in town. Last night wasn't so bad because they were in Tampa. (And lost their 3rd straight) I love the Cubs. Just not enough to endure this bar for too long.

Aaaahhhh, again. Another bar full of Cubbie tools and over-priced drinks. I would much rather go up and down Clark Street than hit the Sheffield bars. If you need a tool, then head to the tool shed. You will love it.

Located right next to Wrigley Field, the TV's are plentiful and can get packed on game day. Thursdays are the best days to go featuring: $1 domestic/well drinks $2 import/call drinks $3 premium drinks $4 bombs There are also darts in the back room and a full food menu.

This three level bar rocks the spot right across from Wrigley Field. The staff here go out of their way to make sure that your experience is a five star one. The drinks are always ice cold and the pours generous ( I heart my Jack). Sports Corner has a rooftop bar that is open during the non-snowy months (half the year). This is a special secret spot to checkout sound check if a band is playing at Wrigley Field or to catch a little bit of the game (you can only see the outfield). The outside patio gets lots of sun and is primo for people watching. The ONLY reason that this is not five stars is the lack of menu items. I did have a burger and it was tasty. The on-line menu - sportscornerwrigley.com - seems to be more detailed than the actually menu on the table. I really like the rich wood decor and high-top tables. Seriously, the staff here are courteous and go out of their way to make sure everyone is taken care of. I just found this gem and look forward to going back soon. I figured since it was by Wrigley that it would be another drunkin stupor establishment. I learned quick that I was in the wrong. Great prices and location to the El train. Get some!

The drink and food menu is pretty good. I would recommend the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Although it is not authentic, it is pretty good. I would also recommend getting tater tots smothered in chili. It is not on the menu, so you need to ask for it specifically. The problem I have with this place is the placement of the TV's. It is not the best place to watch a sports game on TV because: 1) The TV's downstairs are too high and 2) The TV's upstairs are not in the best spots or blocked by the bar or a pole.

Food is simply not good. If you say anything different then you prolly think taco belz is just deliciouso! rest is standard stuff for a bar by wrigley. we all know what I mean. Oh yeah, we do.

This place just reopened and I must say I was not that impressed. Although the remodeling job has changed the interior drastically, the service and the cost are not worth checking it out. No real drink specials ($4 bottles is not a deal!). Service was slow. Maybe after a couple months they'll get their sh*t together, but for now, I'll be avoiding this place.

    (2)
  • Heather H.

There's almost too many televisions going on in this place. I'm a sports nut and even I, while interested in many different scores, felt ADD induced by the flashing screens. I must admit though, it is a decent place to catch a game. Waitresses have always been friendly and prompt when I've been there. I do tend to avoid the place during the craziness of Cubs games, and during those times I'm sure it's a completely different ball game. If you're looking for a more laid back, not flooded with a younger crowd of drunk college students kind of bar (excluding Cubs games!) this place isn't too bad.

stopped in here for a quick drink with a coworker and was pleasantly surprised! To start, the drink specials couldn't be beat- $1 domestics, $3 rail, $3 imports. There was a big MLB Playoff game going on when we arrived, the place was packed but you couldn't tell from the service. Our waitress was fantastic and we never felt neglected although she was responsible for half the bar. There was seating outside and although the cubs were not participating in any fashion of post season play, it was nice to see the stadium while watching the game and sipping good brews. The food was above average for pub food and did I mention the drink specials?! I am so pleased with Sports Corner, I'm going again in about 15 minutes!

I'm glad I didn't go here during a Cubs game cause I'm sure it is ridiculously packed, but my friends and I did make it for a Thursday happy hour yesterday. I think I spent a total of $8 between 2 beers and 3 shots - we were celebrating some great things! I think I was just more amazed by the $2 sambuca shots. I remember paying $6.50 per shot at Duffy's once :( Just watch out... $20 minimum on credit. On Thursdays, you are gonna get a little too wasted trying to meet that goal.

This bar has reopened. It is an impressive bar with three levels. My favorite of which is the roof beer garden that I am anxiously awaiting good weather to spend some time up there. The staff has been friendly, and the atmosphere rocks. It's a great location for before or after cubs games, but moreover is a great place to hangout off game day too.

    (5)
  • Pat S.

Location can't be beat for pre-game dogs and drinks. Outdoor seating directly across from the bleachers entrance to Wrigley. Tried the Chicago Dog, wasn't bad. Drafts are tall and servers keep them coming.

  • Andrea C.

Went here with a bunch of coworkers last night and had a blast. The staff was friendly and the specials were great. 2 Bucks for Captain and Coke, just a buck for well drinks, and I think fancy shots were just 4 dollars. Needless to say, we had a blast and probably drank too much. Full Bar - check Decent Food - check Decent Service - check Decent Crowd - check All around good place, I would come here again.

meh. i think the theme of this bar is "suburban hell". my bf used to LOVE sports corner back before it was remodeled. he insisted we return when it opened to experience the glory. no glory was experienced whatsoever. they don't serve drinks in glasses, the menu is boring, the service is blah. i felt like there was an applebees near clark & addison...oh wait - isn't that part of the new plan???

  • Lenene W.

They sponsor our softball team. They always have bad service, no one ever knows what is going on with the sponser special. The last time we went this past sunday the waitress came back to te table and asked for her tip. Turned out we already tipped her, she didn't actually count the money and mixed us up with another table. Won't be back after the season.

So all I tried were the mimosas (looks like the food is a different story) and they were fantastic! I liked this place, our bartender was amazing and bar was bright and sunny with floor to ceiling windows. I dreaded going and was pleasantly surprised.

I like this place. I was looking for somewhere to watch the UFC fight and it seemed to be the only place to watch it in Wrigley. Luckily we found it on time and I went everywhere b4 heading back home when we thought.....SPORTS CORNER! and yes it had the fight! Ive been here during cubs season they have good appetizers and good wings too. The waitress was always there to serve us on time and it seemed to be a more mature crowd for the wrigley area. i'd go back to watch a fight or big game.

A hidden gem on in Wrigleyville with wonderful drink specials when the cubbies are not at home. On Thursday nights, a $2.00 door cover will get you, $1.00 domestic, $2.00 imports, and $2.00 well drinks. Honestly, how else can you enjoy a wonderful night of drinking blue moon for around $20.00? Hey look, the door men are nice, the bartenders actually know what they are doing, and the music isn't too loud. This is not your place if you: A)wear sunglasses at bars, B)want people to look at you, C)you need to spend more than $200.00 and D)expect attitude from everybody. Highly recommend it for a casual night out with friends.

  • Ellie B.

Oh Sports Corner, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways! This is a hidden gem, a treasure of sorts... Let's face it, many bars in Wrigleyville charge $6 for a bottle of Miller Lite. And there's usually a cover at those places for a whole lot of NOTHING. Sports Corner, a true sports bar, doesn't pretend to be anything but. Drinks are reasonably priced, the place isn't packed with pretentious assholes, and the whole staff is incredibly friendly. So take that, trying-too-hard-to-be-trendy-when-you're-still-just-a-good-old-sports-bar bars! HA!

After tearing down the old building & rebuilding in 2009, SPORTS CORNER IS BACK! First this is a great location, just off the L. The space is great especially the rooftop. TV's are everywhere just like a sports bar should be. The food is slightly above average bar food, no gourmet, but soaks up the beer just fine. Check it out next time you are in Wrigleyville.

    (4)
  • Eric M.

They've closed, and demolished the beautiful old building. Maybe they'll re-open with a new building, but why patronize a company that cavalierly tears down a part of what makes the Wrigley Area so great?

I would definitely come back to this bar again, when I had more time. We got dropped off for the Cubs game around 1:13pm for a 1:20 start. We had taken a school bus to the game and all needed to use the restroom so we darted in here. They had two bouncers checking IDs for a quick entry. The place was bustling and busy, but we were able to run to the bathroom quickly. The bathrooms were super clean for a busy game day too! The bathroom had an attendant too with every supply a girl could need! Since we basically used this place for their bathroom, we decided to stay for a quick shot. $8 each for a Soco Lime, which is better than Captain Morgan across the street, and pretty on par for what I think of in the city. I'd love to check out this place again- especially to see the rooftop!

  • Jeremy B.

Sports Corner is just your average Wrigleyville bar - there is nothing great about it, but nothing bad either. The staff seems friendly enough, though they can be a little slow and lacking of personality. The food is ok, the staff is ok, the prices a little high probably b/c they can get away with that due to their location. Having just bought a condo around the corner was hoping this could be the regular local watering hole (during non home Cubs game days) but there is just nothing really drawing me back.

    (3)
  • Sherwin C.

While neither the drinks nor food are bad, the value for what you're getting is not good at all. Drinks are served in plain plastic cups, not even filled close to the brim. The drink specials are necessary to bring prices closer to those of other bars. Food was pricey as well and portions were not generous. Even though there are other bars with similarly priced food in the area, there was nothing special about any of the dishes that I tried and the portion sizes were a bit small for the prices charged.

Okay so this visit is a complete blur since my buddy and I were at the game and during the game we wanted to try some tequila. So decided to walk over from the stadium while the ball game was on. Place looked desserted but then again the game was live across the street. Bar staff was okay and fast.

I've been here twice, both for Tuesday night trivia. Trivia is every Tuesday at 8 when the cubs aren't home. It is also half price food and $3 drinks. You really can't beat that. The food is average mediocre bar food. Better than cubby bear at least. Nachos aren't bad. Wings aren't bad. Just nothing to right home about. But for a few bucks I'll take them any day. It usually fills up pretty good for trivia. The trivia itself is a blast. They have hard questions and easy ones and categories. Something for everyone. I'll be back on Tuesdays from time to time. Probably wouldn't go any other day though.

Solid bar & grill. Nothing above or below what you'd expect. Bathrooms could use a regular check up as it had little toilet paper when I used. Food is decent, prices are average, good selection of beer, full bar. Given the location is where they profit.

I am from southwest Missouri, but visited Chicago to see a Cub's game. After the game, I was looking for a place to watch the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Not only did they show the fight on at least 30 screens, but they were one of 3 places in Chicago showing the game for free. They take good care of their customers. When I visit Wrigley again, I will definitely come back to this bar.

Great place to go before the Cubs game. I was in town for business and had never been to Wrigley before so my local office suggested we hang here before, great I'm down. Extensive apps and good beer selection, and 4 floors of space including the rooftop terrace which was very nice to kill a couple hours at. A stones throw from the ballpark, this is my ideal place to go to booze it up before watching the Cubs get their clocks cleaned.

Great service. and they have specials every day., even Saturdays surprisingly.

  • Jared M.

Pretty good sports bar right next to Wrigley Field. It was pretty good. The nacho burger and fries were pretty good. Seemed to have a good beer selection. It was several floors with an open roof seating area. I was a little disappointed that the roof is only open on game days. The service was alright. Food came fast but the waitress had big gaps before she visited. She was really nice, and seemed a little new. So that was probably it. Would be an awesome place to go for a game.

Came here right before cub's game since it's conveniently located right by the Addison El stop and Wrigley Field. We had their nachos and Corner Burger. To be honest, the quality of food wasn't the best. Also, disappointed by number of options available. Overall though, great service and seems like a fun place to watch games.

    (2)
  • Saba A.

It's a perfect location to hit up before going to the Cub's game. As soon as you get off the el or the bus - walk up to the hidden third floor rooftop and enjoy a high top experience with the views of the park and the busy street of Addison. I enjoyed my burger before paying money for expensive ball park food at the game. The service is great- friendly people. And they don't rush you. I would def. come for a drink or for food and because Wrigley can get so crazy- this chill spot was perfect.

  • Steph U.

Came here after the cubs game. It's your standard Wrigley bar, not sure what else to say other than that. There were no drink specials when I came, which was on a Wednesday, and my boyfriend ordered my drink so I'm not sure how prices compare to other Wrigley bars. We were only here for a drink or two, so I don't really recall anything spectacular. There were some TVs to watch sports and the staff was alright. Overall, not super memorable, but nice that it's so close to Wrigley Field.

    (3)
  • Sarah E.

Great place to watch games (there's tons of tvs). This is the BEST place to come before a Cubs game. It's multi-levelled, which makes it easier to find a seat. Friendly staff. Their food is good, especially the mozzarella sticks.

  • Christine M.

Our go to place before, during and after games and concerts hosted at Wrigley Field. This last time we were there the food was just mediocre, (blue cheese burger, hot wings and goat cheese with grapes salad-the salad was excellent) service was very slow and our waitress seemed annoyed with everything and everyone. The rooftop space has new bar tables and stools for seating.... Flashy red color, but I preferred the previous....regular square tables and chairs/seats with backs. Our group meets there regularly... and we are there for several hours. It's just more comfortable, for me. Not too sure I'll be back.... Maybe it's under new management. In the meantime, we'll have to find a replacement venue for dinner and drinks ASAP.... Billy Joel will be performing at WF tomorrow nite.

Bought a groupon for our first time here. Just writing this review about our server, Mary. She was awesome! Very genuine, very attentive, and encouraged us to come back for a tuesday night special. We definitely will. Thanks, Mary!

Typical sports bar vibe with typical bad sports bar food. We came here before a Cubs game. Since we didn't want to eat awful stadium food, we thought it might be a little better here but I think stadium food would be of similiar quality. If you're desperate for food, just go to Subway across the street; you can bring Subway sandwiches inside. Rowdy crowd during the weekend game day we were there.

To hear my husband say "these may be the best wings I've ever had" is SAYING SOMETHING people. We could be at the best restaurant in Chicago and he would order wings! My burger was fantastic, and I order the burger almost as often as he orders the wings. ;) plenty of options on tap which we appreciate. Overall a great experience!

I thought, as a society, we were past this. Apparently not. And it scares me. My friends and I were out enjoying the hoots and hollers of Halloween last night when we decided to wet our whistles at this watering hole. ("Hole" indeed. Read on.) Though three stories tall, this bar only uses the first floor on non-game days and they packed everyone in to the first floor so there were no open tables when we entered. After showing the doorman our identification credentials, indicating that all five of us were indeed over 21 years of age and legal citizens of this country, my friend C-section found a table in the corner, albeit with only two chairs for the five of us. The time was 9:25 p.m. Situating ourselves at the table, with Chuckles and House Potty standing, we noticed that there were no other of our kind in the establishment. And that was fine. As clowns, we realize there will be times that we enjoy drinks and merriment with non-clowns. As a society, clowns and norms have been able to intermingle for years. But not at Sports Corner, they seriously frown on you if you're not a norm. Once settled at our table, anticipating our drinks, we were informed by the waitress that she would not serve us. "You have to get your drinks at the bar," she said, eyeing our colorful garb in a distasteful manner. "Oh, you're done with your shift?" I asked. "No," she said, rolling her eyes and walking away. We watched as the waitress spoke to the bartender, gesturing over her shoulder at us. The bartender shook his head and stared at us as if we had brought the plague inside. Realizing that we were not going to get served at the bar or at our table, we decided to try our luck at a more tolerant establishment (Murphy's down the street, FYI). As we left, one of the norms clapped. The toll hit Tinkles pretty hard. As we pushed through the crowd to get outside, she turned to me and said, "Why? Why don't they understand? Beneath the makeup and frou frou and wigs, we're just like them. Why?!" All I could do was tell her the truth: "Sports Corner only caters to norms."

I went with a large group for the UFC fights last weekend. The guys would probably give a low score due to lack of drink specials (because of earlier Cubs game) and the fact that all of tv's went off twice mid-fight... I however enjoyed that the 2nd floor was chill enough that I could still talk to my girls without yelling, and the best part of the night -- when we asked to cash out we were sure that one $300+ bill would come out and our server would run and hide and pretend "oh, you mean your group of 10 people who all came separately didn't want to be on one tab?!" BUT..she didn't!! The bill was split perfectly and she didn't add the group gratuity like she could have! I was Really impressed by this! Everyone else was too, so I'm sure her tip was well above what it would've been with typical bar service. Good work, Sports Corner! And good chili cheese dip, too :)

Friends and I came here right before going to the Cubs game. They recommended their burgers and I didn't want to pay for stadium food so it worked out perfectly. The burger I got was good but wasn't that good. I asked for medium-rare and it pretty much came well-done but not dry. The ambiance of it is really nice. We sat upstairs next to the open patio/balcony so we got to enjoy the food, view and weather. That probably made me really like the place.

We went during a Cubs game to watch some of the game with other sports fans. The noise in this place was so loud, I couldn't even hear my wife talking less than a foot away from me. $6 for a 8oz Angry Orchard and $6 for a 8oz Mike's. We left in search of a quieter bar to watch the game at. Zero ambition to go back to this place.

  • Bryan H.

Go here for beer and location only. They serve the worst drinks ever. Powdered mix for a top shelf margarita. $10. Really for a powdered drink? I didn't know they even made powdered mix any more. Wow.

  • Jeff C.

We couldn't even try the food because we couldn't get waited on. We came in at noon on a Thursday. There were only two other tables in use. The waitress cleared the plates of another table, walked around for awhile, then started writing on a specials board. Not a hi, not a be with you minute. minute. Just oblivious. Absolutely ridiculous service.

If there was a zero I would give it! Beer is beer but the service is absolutely terrible! And the food was so gross, they are also serving multiple underage kids! Never go to this gross spot, seriously. -veteran bar goer in Chicago

Came here to watch the Bulls playoff game. I was on a date and even though the place didn't scream romantic ambience we still had a great time. The space was clean, crowded and there were flat screens everywhere. We sat upstairs where there was a smaller room but you couldn't beat the view of Wrigley Field 100feet away and the sun going down. It was getting pretty chilly outside (about 50deg) but all the windows and doors were open until management must've seen people shivering. We ordered wings and a bratwurst plate. It would've been a good idea if the prices were clearly stated. It also would've been better if the wings (medium) weren't so hot! After 3 and 2 glasses of water I had to stop eating. Luckily my date shared his tater tots- how can you ruin tater tots, right? We were also put off by the plastic silverware and plastic beer cups. Maybe instead of a few flat screens they could invest in classier silverware. Also, if they had specials they weren't listed anywhere. Our tab was $31 - brat plate, wings, and 2 Blue Moon drafts in plastic cups. Pricey. Overall though we had a great time even though the Bulls season was over that night. The service was great, atmosphere is perfect to watch multiple games, music was decent.

  • Stephanie M.

nice large space so you don't feel like you're ever over crowded. the bar has multiple floors and during wrigley games the roof top is open. i recommend going during the weekdays as the beverage cost isn't as high, and the bar has specials to offer. they have a good number of beer on tap, and a full liquor bar. on new years day, they had a great special! $3 you call it drinks, and no cover! so those of you who don't want to make plans for NYE next year, look into this place.

I only came here for a few drinks on a Sunday night when there was virtually no one else there. Our small group was well-attended to (of course, as we were the only group in there) and I got a chance to chat with the bar tender (manager?), Frank. Drink specials weren't bad at all and reflected similar specials at other bars in the area on a Sunday night, but the service and friendliness of Frank and Juan Carlos were what really sold me on this place. I haven't tried the food yet, but I'm certainly planning to come back solely based on the friendliness of these guys. Great first experience!

I have gone here a couple of times in the past since it was very near my childhood home. There is nothing special about this bar except for the fact it is right across Wrigley Field. The service is slower than the game and you would expect the bar closest to the ball park would be something more memorable than this.

Not much Yelp love for the Sports Corner Bar & Grill. Julie D will give it some. We stopped by before the Cubs game. Our server was great. We had simple food, we shared a plate of nachos. Everything from the meat to the guacamole was delicious. This is also a good place for the pre-game people watching. I do feel sorry for the bouncers here. They seem to have to do a lot of grown up people babysitting.

In my book, this bar is consistently the "Scene of the Crime." Not a bad thing... My friends and I usually start and end our Cub game days here. It is in this local establishment that I've made many a new acquaintance. Sure, it can get packed. But when it's game day, we all know what to expect. I've always had fast and friendly service. And the bouncers really know how to keep the crowd under control. This place will stay one of my "usual" haunts on game day!

It's a bar like any other. Great for sports fans; they serve drinks and food. I don't have an issue with the way anything was done. I happened to look at my receipt a few days later, however, and I DO have an issue being charged for condiments. Apparently ketchup and barbecue sauce are a premium here.

You know you are already having a good night when the biggest decision you have to make is where to go after the game. Such was our dilemma the other night. But as my dad always says, "look around you to solve a problem" and when I did, I found myself standing in front of the "new and improved" Sports Corner Bar. The original location had been on that corner since the 70's, but a couple of years ago- they tore down the building and built the new modern, 3 story Sports Corner which, while it might lack some of the quirky charm of the original, more than makes up for it with plenty of room, many beers on tap and good service. We went after the Crosstown Classic with Wrigleyville in full swing. We dared to enter and ask if there was a table for the four of us. The door guy directed us to the 2nd floor area- and sure enough- a table! We sat and were immediately waited on by a friendly server who didn't seem daunted by the mass of humanity that just invaded the bar. She got our beers- checked back often and was great to deal with. The beers were reasonably priced and I liked that by sitting up on the 2nd floor- we had a "Birdseye view" of the streets settling down after the game through the open windows. There is also a 3rd floor "Beer Garden" to enjoy your beer on although it is often closed for private parties. And here's a tip- the Sports Corner seriously has the best women's bathrooms of any place I have been in Wrigleyville. Clean, well stocked, functional and with plenty of stalls this was a surprise of the greatest kind! The old Sports Corner seemingly had more quirky charm based on the reviews on here. But for this girl- I'll take functionality on game day over all else!

Came here after dinner and to grab a few beers before we went to Smart Bar down the block. Definitely sports bar with TONS of televisions. I was a little surprised that the Sharks game was on, but that's A-OK with me :) They had a pretty wide range of beer on tap. I tried Purple Haze, which I liked with a wheaty flavor at the end. I also got a couple of their cran-vodkas on the well drink special for $3? But they were pretty weak. I had two and a beer and meh. It also came in this dinky 6oz plastic cup... I guess if you're a big sports buff and trying to get in the last minute score to a game before the bars, this would be the place to be :)

GREAT burger: Corner Burger. Beers are small and service is very slow...might have been game day delay. A good place the check out if you're going to the game.

My friend & I came here after receiving poor service down the road. We sat at the bar for lunch, and the whole experience was fantastic. The bartender greeted us immediately, was extremely friendly & attentive. I had the buffalo chx wrap, and some ice cold Sam Summer's, both of which rocked!

Obviously this place is across the street from Wrigley, or to be even more specific in between the addision red line stop and Wrigley.... so it is a good idea to keep one's expectations in check based on that alone. I've at here twice, once watching bowl games on New Years, once after being out for a Bears game. Food is horrible. Obviously you're going to get bar food, but there are places nearby where you can have some pretty decent bar food. This is not such a place. The portions are small, over priced and taste like they came right from a Costco bag in the freezer, right into a deep fryer and then to your plate. That being said, the place is spacious, and has a TON of TVs for sports fans. These factors are preventing a one star review. It could be worse, but not much.

If you understand that the primary reason for being at Sports Corner is its proximity to Wrigley, you'll be okay. If you think the reason is the amazing food, you will be completely, utterly disappointed. I've been here several times now, and am surprised that this place is still open so long after baseball season is over. Just because you have the automatic foot traffic doesn't mean that you shouldn't make an effort to make good food. Sports Corner is attractive enough of a place to not be just another Wrigley tourist trap. But unfortunately, that's all it is.

We went here to grab a quick drink and some food. Their drink specials were great! Unfortunately, they brought us the wrong sides with our meals. Rather than take our plates away, as most restaurants do, they put in an rush order for the sides we ordered and let us keep what they gave us. The server was very apologetic and insisted that we order a round of drinks on him. Mistakes happen. This was a fantastic way to make everything right again. The food and drinks were really good (basic bar food), and other than the mistake the service was good. We'll definitely go back!

I went here for the big game on a Sunday afternoon. It really couldn't have worked out any better. I got crowded but never overly-so. Even with the big crowd, my friend and I snagged seats at the bar. There are two million TV's...well 27 on the first floor to be exact so it is perfect for watching sports...hence the name. The food was excellent pub fare. The chorizo poppers were to die for and my burger and fries were far above average. It was way too cold to go the top floor, which is outside but i will definitely return in the summer to check it out.

Not as bad as I expected. We were on the 2nd floor after the game, it wasn't too crowded and we had a bunch of tables together. The crowd was pretty after game typical, loud drunk... Server was decent. The food we had was absolutely terrible. Nachos=NASTY. Stale chips. Nasty fake nacho cheese. And probably a guaranteed trip to the toilet had anyone actually ate more than one. The bouncer is a loser though... He stood over our table (a group of co-workers, nothing crazy) and watched everyone like an eagle. Totally unnecessary of him.

Went on a Saturday. The place was empty. Ask for drink specials, and our stoic and our unfriendly waitress said they 'don't have specials on [Cubs] game night.' WTH. It was 11pm, and the Cubs played a 1pm game. LAME! Our chicken tenders were not real chickens breast. It seemed like they got them from the frozen section of Jewel. The worse part was our waitress; took 10 minutes to come to our table. And when she did come, no greeting, didn't tell us her name, and never cracked one smile. And why the f@*k was my Corona beer $6. On top of that, it came out in an 8oz. can, with a plastic cup. Really??? I felt unwelcomed there. I was stared at by all the staff there; I am black. I could be overreacting here with this point; I don't want to discourage anyone from being a patron here. My girl didn't leave a tip. We felt bad about this, but we were so disappointed because I was checking the place out to see if I'd have an event here soon. Prices to high as well.

the outdoor garden gets an a-ok from me headed up and out last nite to eavesdrop on the dmb concert at wrigley and i was not disappointed...they politely turned off their music during boths sets so we could listen in now...the rest of the place...there is really nothing special...no fun lighting no decorations no photos no wall art...its pretty bland...get a decorator in here and this place could be top notch on top of its top notch location beer is super duper over priced for no apparent reason but the food is reasonable and really pretty good (btw tots as an option always makes me smile) friendly staff all around (sorry i think i jipped our server on the tip) but it was hard to tell whos job was what will be back for sure and im bummed i hadnt checked out the garden earlier

One of the first places you see once you hop off of the Red Line on Addison. Not too bad of a place and they usually have specials. They pour a pretty decent drink (Jameson & Coke especially). They have a pretty good staff and service here is usually cool. Not a whole lot to say about this place, but its a good place to stop in when you get off of the train and you are ready to get a drink in your system on the way home.

My wife and I visited Sport Corner with a Restaurant.com certificate. We started out with chicken loaded nachos, which were just OK. I ordered the Chicken Club which was delicious. My wife had to send her wrap back to the kitchen since it was very cold. The restaurant certainly has a lot of TVs and the atmosphere is pretty standard for a Wrigleyville bar. Service was friendly, but the kitchen was a bit slow (with no one there). Overall, the experience was worth it due to the certificate.

I am giving The Sports Corner Bar & Grill 4 stars because it's right across the street from Wrigley field, has a nice selection of beers on tap, and better-than-average bar food. If it was any other place in Chicago it probably would only get 3 stars. But, you know what, when you go to a place like this you're not looking for gourmet food, you're looking for atmosphere and excitement before, during, and after the game. And this establishment is in the perfect location and has a nice setup for all of the above. We arrived here about 2 hours before game time on a Saturday, and the place was already filling up. Flat screen TV's were in abundance and in a nice circular setup that I haven't seen before. As it is the beginning of college football season, this was a great place to catch the early football games before heading to the baseball game. Check it out, if you're a sports fan and love the local atmosphere before a game, you'll love this place. If you're looking for more gourmet or quiet, there are plenty of other options around Wrigleyville. Well, maybe not quiet :)

I came here this past Monday to watch Monday Night Football. It is a huge space and 99% of the people were there for Euchre. I'm not a fan of Euchre so I can't comment on the tournament. Euchre was being played on the 2nd floor and the first floor was empty! For a reason? I think so. Monday specials are 1/2 appetizers. A great deal until you eat the food. I got nachos and they were just blah. The cheese was cold, the guacamole tasted old (I avoided that) and there was nothing great about it. My friends shared wings and they seemed to like them so maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I hate going to Wrigleyville and this bar was sub-par at best. I doubt I will come back. I try to avoid this area like the plague.

I'msitting at Sports Corner as I type this. That's how awful my experience was. I could not wait to get home to write a review. I was interested at first. The menu offerings are sufficient and a few different items that caught my interest/attention. Boy, I was sorely mistaken. Shall I start with the horrible service or the wretched food? Let's say service as a bus boy literally just took away my beer before I was even finished. So that's number one. Number two, I had to wait 20 minutes before a server took our order. My friend had to flag her down in order to even get that accomplished. Then let's come to the fact that as she delivered drinks, she wouldn't even ask if anyone needed anything else, although we had empty glasses on the table. And there are the numerous times she walked by without seeing if we needed anything. oh, and she completely forgot my friends drink when she delivered ours. Now onto the food. How do you screw up mozzarella sticks and nachos? I don't know either, but they sure did. The nachos were cold and the cheese nearly solid, which i can't understand as it didn't take that long to receive our order. The mozzarella sticks--over fried. Yes, over fried! How do you do that? The inside and outside were hard as a rock; and the marinara sauce was like a combination of salsa and ragu sauce. I was tempted to walk down to the Taco Bell a block away, as they probably have better food than this place. The only redeeming quality--half price drinks and food on Tuesday's.

This bar also officially HAS to be in the top 10 nastiest bathrooms in the city. I can't say how many times I have gone to use it and there has been puke everywhere. Also if it is crowded or after a Cubs game expect to see a line up the stairs . I used to be a regular here as I live a block away. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed that they fired most of the staff, and changed their menu. They had a great chili cheese fries and appetizer sampler which has now been replaced by some nasty attempt at bar food. I'm going to give it another chance, but it's still hard to swallow your local bar getting a staff overhaul.

Great specials, more beers on tap than you can count on all your fingers and toes, and plenty of tv's for watching whatever sports are on at the moment. I've never been here after a game- I live nearby and have only been here on some off-peak nights. Sports Corner won't wow you with ambience, but it will get you plenty of your beer (or other drink) of choice at really reasonable prices. I've always had a good time here over the years. I appreciate that they have a dartboard, they're becoming pretty hard to find. Bonus star for that.

me and some buddies went here over the summer when the cubs were out of town so it wasn't insanely crowded. there were some douche bag frat guys hanging out in the patio area, so we didn't wanna deal with that, and stayed inside. billiards is free as long as you're drinking, so that's pretty sweet. pool table was very lopsided though. drinks were sort of pricey, and i spent more than i wanted to that night. i would give this a 3 star review, but i have been in there on cubs game days and i don't care what the situation is, 5-6 dollars for a can of beer is robbery, so i dock a star for that.

What a shame. It seems as if the Cubs dictate everything in the neighborhood is closing per what the Cubs want. Hi-Tops and Sports Corner were neighborhood institutions. What a shame. They sponsored my soccer team in the mid-nineties. I am sure the replacement will be something kosher with the Cubs. IE- Harry Caray's replaces Hi-Tops.

admittedly in summer i avoid this place like the plague. drunken cubs fans falling out onto the street...crowded bars...ugh. Thats all i think about when i hear or even see this place. Luckily they have undertaken a change of scenery....it looks completely different that the last time you probably remember. there's a ton of more space and more tv's than the law allows. i like that.....plus give me an extensive menu of foods and drinks...nice way to recover Sports Corner! I alsolove the idea of showing free UFC fights if you buy a drink...a much better deal than some other places in the neighborhood. I went here for brunch one morning and alas did not expect the world, and granted thats what they gave me...not the world. at ten bucks its cheaper than most places in the neighborhood, but the food doesn't match up. better food quality would really improve things. nevertheless i love the new atmosphere.

This place over charged my credit card. Good thing I keep receipts even when I'm tipsy, so I went in and received a full refund. The manager gave me the run around, but I knew the server (who is also a manager) added on extra tip. Their "simple mistake" didn't add up, but adding a 1 in front of the tip was clear to me. Be careful of this place and keep your charge receipts!

This really is a good spot in wrigleyville. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. Our server's name was Gabriella and she was great! They have good specials and the new renovation is beautiful. The reason that I leave out a star is because I was a regular before it was rebuilt and I really miss the old vibe. While it is still a great spot and has a sweet interior, I'm still missing the dive sports corner.

My friend & I came here for the first time last night for a quick bite to eat because we had a groupon now coupon for 1/2 off. It was pretty empty on a wednesday night except for 10 or so other people. I must say, for a sports bar the food was awesome. I had the goat cheese & grape salad & my friend had the veggie wrap & we were totally impressed. Oh! And the fries were surprisingly really good. Our waitress was very sweet & attentive, and the manager even came to see how we were doing. The facilities are beautiful & there are TV's everywhere. The upstairs was closed so I didn't get a chance to check it out but I'm excited for summertime during baseball season when the rooftop deck is open.. (Hopefully the service will still be good during their busy season when its packed). Sometimes popular sports bars can have a careless attitude towards the satisfaction of their customers just because they can due to the high demand during their busy season, but I did not get that vibe, and all together we were very happy with our experience :) they have great specials during the week too which I like. We will be coming back soon!

Right across the street from good old Wrigley Field. Yes it gets mighty crowded here before or after games. If you have a headache you may not want to go here. Visting this area would not be the same without places like this and it's roudy patrons. It's part of Chicago and it's long standing traditions.

I like Sports Corner. I've been several times, but last night we just had a blast. We went to watch a Thursday night football game and while there was a group of super drunk people near us, they left pretty soon after we got there that it wasn't awful. Anyhow, the food was tasty. The burger I ate was awesome. I think the bun made it so good. Our waitress was great. The best part was drinks were $1. Can't beat that.

I think I found the best people watching spot in the whole city - The corner table at Sports Corner Bar, right at the intersection of Sheffield and Addison. You can work on your tan, have a drink, and watch the crazy Cubbie fans leaving Wrigley Stadium all at the same time. My ADD was out of control - I've never seen so much action in Chicago! We had no trouble getting a drink, even the though the place was packed. I definitely had a blast and am looking forward to many more afternoons at this bar --- although you definitely have to arrive get a seat at this happening spot.

I dont like sports at all, but this place has GREAT beer prices. The specials are even better. It's a great last-call stop because it's right next to the Red Line, you don't have to stagger far. Oh, and the jukebox is sweet.

Good drink specials and right by Wrigley. For some reason, slightly better crowd than the other places right around it. If there is a game going on, good luck finding a place to rest your drink, much less your legs.

This place is right next to Wrigley Field and can get crazy crowded during games. It's difficult to navigate through the crowd, let alone having somewhere to stand (forget about sitting down). Their beer selection isn't great - I prefer the other bars nearby.

Good pre-game place. I would never go here on a Friday night unless the Cubs were in Wrigley. But you will be close to the stadium which helps and you will see a lot of Cubs gear in this bar.
