Full disclosure, I am particularly impartial to The Ogden because it is literally in the bottom floor of my building. However, I'm a stickler for customer service and good food, so if this place sucked, the proximity would not be enough to lure me back. That said, I love this bar. We've got winners, we've got losers (but not this year- official Hawks viewing bar!!)...seriously, the staff is super friendly- I've only had an issue with crappy service at the bar once or twice from someone I no longer see anymore, so that speaks to the emphasis this place puts on good service. (Manager Sean is super cool- ask if he's around and say hi) The food is consistently good; however, I would avoid the guacamole- it's definitely the kind that comes in a tub, which is a crime against humanity. The flatbreads are tasty (and on special Wednesday's) and the burgers are pretty good too. My favorite is the southwest salad with chicken. I had never had grilled lettuce before but WOW, it is damn good and the dressing has a sweet spicy kick to it. Drinks are a little pricey but you almost always get an overpour, so can't complain about that. Only reason I would avoid this place is if the Hawks are in the playoffs and you don't like huge crowds. The Ogden is THE bar to watch the game and it gets a little rowdy as the fair weather fans jump on the band wagon near the end of the season.

I wouldn't ever go back. I had multiple problems with this place. 1. This place's food is good, but no wear near good enough to be called a "Chef's Driven Sports Bar". 2. When a customer asks for a refill, it shouldn't take 10 minutes, and they shouldn't have to ask more than once. Also, if you know that your machine is out or low on syrup for Coke, don't bring me a watered down Coke and tell me it's watered down. My friends and I went and we were literally rationing our drinks because we knew we were never going to get refills. 3. Service is just terrible, it's slow, the waitress we had was awful. She would stop by every 20-25 minutes, and then we wouldn't see her, at all. We had to wave down other servers and the manager eventually to just get some silverware. (Which we did ask for as soon as our food got there, but after 10 minutes of waiting we thought we would ask someone else) We also never got the ranch we asked for when the food came. The only reason this place doesn't get a one star is because they had an amazing selection of draft beers and it was a very cool place. The vibe was nice, but the service and food was very lacking. Take off your label as a "chef driven sports bar" and hire some capable people and a management staff who actually care. Then you will be at a 5 star.

The food is okay but the venue and drink selections make up for it. I love how the booths are large, private and each booth has its own small flat screen. Great crowds it gets that come for events at the United Center. Valet parking is always a plus in my book and this place has it.

This place is doing the sports bar right. My husband and I are UFC fans and found that this place shows all the pay per view UFC events. Not only that, they have large booths with your own TV in each. That works well if you're with a group. If it's just us we sit at the bar, which is lined with flat screen TVs. The service at The Ogden is top notch. We've went a few times, and the staff is extremely attentive and friendly. The beer list is impressive. There are at least a dozen good beers on tap, and a good three dozen in cans or bottles. The Ogden's food is delicious. The mac n cheese, wings, veggie burger, hand cut fries, and nachos are all great. I plan to keep working through the menu as we return. The food is a bit on the pricey side but not outrageous and I find it to be more than worth it.

They seem to have some decent deals on sunday monday and thursday at least. We came in here with a Giltcity voucher. I got the ogden chicken sandwich, she got the cowboy burger, and we shared the animal fries. The animal fries are especially great for those of you who want some kick because of the giardiniera which also juices up at the bottom. The fries were just way too salty which made it get kinda gross halfway through. The pork and cheese curds made it really good though. The meat in the burger was delicious and cooked well BUT it was waaaayyyy too salty on the outside. The chicken sandwich was good but felt like it was missing something. The service was a little slow at one point towards the end but she was very nice and polite. In general it was a decent place. The prices are a bit high but with the specials they have it seems ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back here but if i was in the area i might come back, though there are a few other bars down the road.

Great happy hour deal with 50% off drinks including drafts 4-7pm. No shots though and the happy hour deals not valid on united center game days. The regular draft price for crafts is on the higher side for its location. An imperial draft (20oz) Guinness is $8. Other crafts are around $7. Burgers, appetizers are in the $12 range. Ordered the $5 burger special on a Thursday, it was tasty. It doesn't come with tomato, lettuce, onion. It does come with fries

The food would be 4.5 stars. The menu isn't the most creative, but the quality and execution is high. They also have great specials. The problem with this spot is the service. Some co-works and I (a group of 10-15) are trying to make this bar our after work spot. It's close, the parking is decent, and it has a good atmosphere. Unfortunately, both of the times we went the service was lacking. Friendly, but slow and inconsistent. We hope they can better train their staff (or add more serving staff!) in the future!

It's bar food, it's ehh, but the ambience Is what got me, it's probably the second best place to watch a Blackhawks game, the United Center being the first. It gets really packed so if you wanna sit, arrive early. Everyone's friendly and they actually take care of you.

Went here to watch Bulls game. I love the atmosphere because they have so many TVs. They even have TVs in the booths where you sit. Inside the building is dark but has candles lit. They also have some couches and comfortable chairs and a pool table. The animal fries are delicious but expensive ( $14) . On Mondays they have 50 Cent wings and they are also very good. I feel like their drink menu is a little too pricey. I had alcoholic root beer which was nine dollars and it barely had any alcohol in it.

A Chicago sports bar that substitutes the rowdy fans for some really damn good food. I'm not sure if it's always as low key as when I was there, but it was during a Hawks playoff game and the place was about half empty. Either way if it's crowded the grub is definitely worth waiting for, and that's only speaking from the tiny late night menu. At any time I'd say the burger is a solid choice. One of the better I've had in town. It's a half pound Black Angus patty with 2 year old Wisconsin cheddar, caramelized onions, bacon jam mustard and served with lettuce, tomato, a pickle and side of fresh cut fries. Also awesome were the chicken wings which can be ordered in pairs 6 or 9. Overall I'd say the atmosphere is pretty chill for being so close to the United Center, but there's definitely something nice about that when you're watching a game and gobbling down some amazing bar food.

Was looking for gumballhead on draft and I found this place. Didn't know Blackhawks game was going on and walked into a party b4 game. Found spot at bar and was told no food till 30min b4 game starts so I drank. Lots of big hdtvs at bar. Bartender was awesome. Told me to wait till game starts to order bc it becomes 2 for 1 appetizers. Ordered wings and truffle Mac n cheese. Both dishes beat my expectations. 4 stars for food prices....but def would come back for 2-1....

Need to update my review as I have now had both experiences here as a customer and attended events here (family party). I have never had a bad experience here and the staff is very accommodating. I keep going back because it is clean, the staff is great, and the chicken fingers are just the best. I was actually at a family party out of town this past weekend and the topic of the Chicken Fingers actually came up in conversation... apparently some of my cousins feel the same way I do. I have also started going to school again in the West Loop (near Illinois Medical District) and this is a phenomenal place to go after class. I love stopping in when we have night class on a game night - It is way easier to catch the second half of a hawks game there then to listen to it on the radio driving home. UIC and Rush students should take note, this is a great place off campus to avoid the normal crowded campus bar feel!!

Great option for when you are hitting the united center. It has affordable valet parking which is AWESOME! The place is very hipster sheik and serves upscale bar food which doesn't disappoint. The food was great and the service could not have been better. I will defiantly be back before bulls games and other events at the UC.

I'll begin with saying that the food is absolutely incredible. Some of Chicago's finest bar food. We came in to watch the Sunday afternoon NFL slate and were not disappointed. The animal fries are amazing - topped with giardanera, pulled pork, cheese curds, and a fried egg on top. The wings were also amazing - we had 6 garlic buffalo and 6 sweet BBQ, both incredible. And finally, the fried pickles, which are tossed in a unique batter with an interesting kick. The space is also pretty cool - you can watch any game you want. It is a little dark inside... We expected some brightness in the middle of a Sunday afternoon! The glaring problem is the service... Organization is not their strong suit. We were checked on sporadically by two different servers, neither of which had any clue what was going on. The food took awhile, and the servers weren't sure if the other one had put our order in, so we had to order twice! Also, the beers were left at the bar due to poor communication with the bartender and server, and did not come out ice cold. Not good! Further, it took the servers about half an hour to settle a check, which we put a credit card out for immediately. I may come back before or after a game, but all in all, if you're willing to trade poor service for really good food, give this place a shot. I'd still come here over many of the bars on Madison.

The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 star instead of a 4-5 star is because of the service. Our food was awesome and I was happy to hear they had a vegan burger but our waitress was pretty terrible. She rushed us, didn't check on us, and was overall not very friendly. When you go out to eat, you pay for not only your food and drinks but your service. Therefore, I would probably choose another place just because of the service we received.

If zero stars was an option, I would select it here. Went in, based on Yelp reviews, before a concert at the UC. We wish we didn't. Had a brief wait, which was no big deal. Host was friendly, and sat us before our quoted time. As we waited, we grabbed a drink and took a look at a menu. Noticed a disclaimer on the menu stating "if you are attending an event at the United center, please order an hour prior to your desired departure." (Quote approximate, but pretty close). Having spent some time in the restaurant business, I figured it was just them covering their rears in case of an irate customer. As it turns out, it was them essentially legislating their complete and utter disregard for their guests. Allow me to explain... We sat down. Our waitress, as seemed to be the case with most of their staff, was attractive, which was a plus for her, as she would never get by on her brains. She made a large show of the alleged importance of getting our order in quickly...then spent what seemed like minutes (likely 30 seconds) focusing on getting us drinks. While my beer was canned, my date's glass of Guinness was a fairly clear indicator that our drinks were good to go. After we finally got her back around to the recently and inexplicably deemphasized food order, we asked for sliders, a BLT, and some parmesan fries. A fairly simple request, we figured. Of course, our tabletop scientist made the point of mentioning the "tickets to the floor" when she came back five minutes later to force more drinks down our gullets. Fine, give us hippy booze water, and leave us be... Not so simple, we found out. The waitress had to come back to confirm that my special lady friend's beverage was "THE" Guiness. Upon her return with THE beer, she informed me that my requested drink was not in stock. This was our second out of stock. On beer. At a place that prides itself on its craft program. Update the menu, people. Anyway, to pull it back a step... We ordered our food at 6:35. The show was at 8, about 4 blocks away. Using their hour rule, we figured that, worst case, we got fed at 7:15, with plenty of time to eat and enjoy our food, and get in our seats for the show. The beers came about 6:50....5? Somewhere in there. So we waited for our food... ...and waited... ...and waited... ...got THIS CLOSE to a theoretical cure for cancer (we had some time)... ...and waited... ...well, the GF is patient (she puts up with me, so she's d*** near a saint). SHE put a 10 minute limit on it, at 7:12. Guess when we got our food? No, seriously... We don't know. At 7:25, we checked the beer menu for the prices of our drinks, put down cash, and walked. Here's my problem. The Ogden chose to open a pub near an event center. Good for them. It's smart business - they probably clean up on game days, and concert nights. While they seem very keen on a business plan that maximizes their profits, they show, at best, a calllous disregard for caring a lick for the people actually spending money there. Rather than having a kitchen with the capacity for their peak business, or staffing to ensure all the kitchen stations can keep up...they just tell you you have to wait, and don't even hold themselves to that standard. Don't go here. Ever. They don't care about you. Your money...sure. You...not so much. Literally the worst restaurant experience I have ever had.

I loved this place, but I would have to say the food is average except the plate is spoiling over. The atmosphere before hockey was amazing and the people working there are so friendly. Very sporty and I am site I will be back.

A great stop before attending an event at the United Center. Free parking on streets surrounding the bar make it a great place to go to avoid UC Parking and traffic. Overall I had a great experience at the Ogden. Great design and upscale sports bar atmosphere. Sat at the bar and had various bottled beers, draft beers, and mixed drinks. When I wasn't sure about a draft beer, I was offered a sample without hesitation. Also ordered the bacon cheddar mini cheese burgers off of the appetizer menu which were delicious! The bartenders were friendly and kind. Lacking the 5th star because the mixed drinks took really long even though it wasn't busy at that point and they were overpriced considering the alcohol content did not seem high in them/not especially large cocktails. Definitely would return again.

Must try the cajun dry rub wings. All other food items were good too! Staff was great, place was nice and clean and big. TV's galore! We stayed for 5 hours, pregaming before BlackHawk's game and watched till the end... Will definitely be back!

Came in on Sunday during the 4th quarter of a Bears game. $15 all you can eat brunch was advertised outside but coming in late I just ordered a few Bloodys and the buffalo chicken wrap. Both were delicious and the truffle Parmesan fries were soooo good. Place is super spacious and comfortable. I'll definitely go back soon to take advantage of the brunch special and update my thoughts!!

Awesome food! The sliders are sooo good. Great place for a private party or before an event at United Center. Tons of TVs, even personal built-ins in the booths. Pool table is great and the staff is some of the best. Great place for West Loopers!

Stopped into the Ogden tonight. Another 5 star experience. Sean truly runs a great bar, he is always on the cutting edge with cocktails and craft beers. Also keeping outstanding staff such as Kathy, Matt, and monmon. If you are around the west loop or going to united center for a game, this is where you go!

One of the best bar foods I ever had. Burgers are delicious; one of the best chicken strips I had in a while and animal frieda are to die for. Good thing that I live in the same building as THE OGDEN.

This place is horrible. They stop serving food at 6. Wtf? Oh and a $7 beer? Really? You are better off drinking and eating at the game. We wish we never would've came here. They failed to tell us they won't be serving food when we checked in for a table. So we waited 30 mins for a table n then they tell us the kitchen is closed. Idiots! This place is garbage!!

Was looking for a sports bar close to the UC. Read the reviews before going here. Made sure we had enough time before an event at the UC. No problem, event at 7, reservation 5:30. Was seated right away, waitress arrived took drink order then told us we needed to order all our food right away to make it to UC by 7. 50 minutes later our apps arrived......ugh. we were about to cancel the rest of the order but the waitress didn't deliver the food someone else did and by the time she came back at 6:40 she had the food. We took a couple quick bites and boxed the rest. Seriously do not understand how they can continue to get this wrong. I've never waited that long for food unless the waitress made a mistake. They apparently do not read there reviews or don't care. The menu disclaimer should say.......you won't get your food for an hour after you ordered so plan for an hour and a half before even leaving. I personally like to enjoy my food, not wolf it down in 5 minutes. No reason to even come here unless going to event at UC and after that wait, won't do that ever. Too slow!

I went here for the Hawks championship game. I ordered a couple of beers and paid with my credit card but tipped the server in cash. Days after I realized my bill was more then what I had a receipt for. This means the server tipped herself without my acknowledgment. I called to speak to someone and they stated the GM was not in and would contact me that same day. I was never contacted...I called again days after and spoke to the same person... They stated the GM would contact me and again I have not heard back from them. Don't appreciate being lied to. Terrible service.

Ahhhhh yes. Signs that we are now old? Not being able to hang out in a crowded, standing room only bar. This was the case after the annual Illini game at the UC. One of my friends suggested heading to West End, but apparently all the other Illini fans already made their way there. No seats and having to yell to hear each other? Not happening. Thankfully, one of my other friends suggested heading to the Ogden and it was definitely our saving grace. Not only was seating plentiful, but it wasn't too crowded and we weren't forced to yell at each other. The décor was cool, there were lots of tv's to entertain the men if need be and there were plenty of drinks to choose from. Food was good - 3 bbq pork sliders ($9) had a nice, sweet sauce and, as I denied the food at the UC, I practically inhaled them. Our waitress was super sweet and even split up the bill for our group! Nice, low key Saturday afternoon with some of my favs! Move over, West End! The Ogden is now the place to go after all UC events!

Came in about 9:50pm for a quick bite and a cocktail. Sat down at the bar, since there was no host but a sign saying "please wait to be seated".... Anyway, we asked the bartender if we could sit but the open windows, he said sure so we headed over. We ordered a couple drinks, 10 minutes later we get ONE drink, the other one apparently can't be made?! So I re-order for a second time & another 10 minutes later I receive the most discussing "concoction " I've ever tasted. By this point my husband had tasted his beverage & it turns out they had screwed his up as well, giving him the wrong mixer. Well by this point I'm unhappy, still hungry because with all the cocktail screw ups we still have not had our order taken. FINALLY the server returns with my husbands corrected cocktail & we order a bite. It come out about 15 minutes later, looks and smells good, but when we bite into it....you guessed it. There are ingredient that WERE NOT listed in the menu in the food!!! Grrrr. Seriously, WTH! How many mistakes can one place make!? LoL, apparently everyone possible. And on top of it all when we get the bill they had charged us for premium alcohol when we had asked for well, about a $5.00 upgrade PER-drink. NOT COOL! I'm all good going with the "good stuff" just not when I DONT ask/order for it! Seemed like a bit of "scheming" was going on! Again, not cool people. This place looks nice & seems like there's potential, but our first experience there was to say the least awful. Big bummer too, we live really close & were looking forward to having it be a spot we could hit up a few times a week. Oh well, onto the next!

When scrolling through my "places you've checked into but have yet to review, you big loser" I was reminded that I still needed to review the Ogden. And for the life of me, I could not remember when I went here or what for. Then it came rushing back to me...it was for a first date that frankly should have never have happened. But I digress. Since for some reason I am always the one who has to pick a place (what happened to the gentleman being gentlemanly and planning a romantic date to impress a girl?), I chose the Ogden because it seemed okay and had a fireplace. I'm on a fireplace kick for some reason. Unfortunately, although we settled on "7ish", my date arrived extremely early and was well on his way into his third beer by the time I got there. Apparently he needed the liquid courage/wanted to block out all the Hawks fans that were pre-gaming. I arrive, and the place is virtually empty. We sit at the bar as the fireplace couches aren't conducive to eating (according to him) and I order my own beer. We each get some burger slider things and I get a side of truffle fries. HOORAY the burgers come out promptly and delicious. BOO to the fact that our fries order apparently wasn't put in. The bartender was very nice about it, but...with a place that dead it's hard to understand how it happened And for fries, they took awhile to come out. I would probably go here if I needed a sports bar/fireplace combo, but considering how out of the way it is for me, I doubt it.

The food is great. It's chef driven, and every time I've been there it's presented differently. Plenty of screens for sports games, specifically Blackhawks and Bulls games since it's so close to the United center. I'm drunk and had to leave a review because this place is classy and legit.

I had one of my worst bar experiences here just this evening. I went for a drink with coworkers and saw that the special was a burger and beer for $10. I ordered it (which I was told was just a cheeseburger) when I first got in and was told to pick a beer for $5 or less, so the waitress said she would give me a minute. Ten minutes later, she came back. After I ordered the drink, she told me my burger wouldn't be ready until 7:15. I ordered it at 6:10. I asked if there was anything faster since I had to leave around then. She said the only thing was buffalo wings for $15. I asked to substitute it for the burger since they were so backed up, and she said I couldn't. So all I ended up with was a beer and a very empty stomach. AND 18% gratuity was included in my final bill even though my check was separate from the group. I am not coming here again.

Great place to watch the game... I came in on a Sunday to watch the Bears game at the last minute. I'm glad I did because they have a great brunch special on Sunday's for $15 and $25 for mimosas and Bloody Mary's with brunch. It is 100% worth it seeing that I was going to spend a lot more than that. Since I was technically at work and you can't drink during work hours, I had just the brunch. But I "heard" the not your fathers draft was good. It has 10% abv and tastes just like root beer. "I heard". Reservations are needed if you come in for a major game. I came in at 12:00 on Sunday and seats were available. The buffet has pork and turkey sausage as well as egg white and spinach omelettes. Enjoy.

My hubby and I wound up here after getting out of a concert at the United Center quite late (11:30pm and we hadn't had dinner yet). I found The Ogden on my Yelp app and was happy to note that they were open and serving food until 2am. Our server was super friendly and lovely, and the food was way more than I expected from the look of the place. Hubby had the cheeseburger and beer special; I had a glass of wine and the burger with pulled pork and cheese curds. The burgers were a little salty, but cooked a perfect, juicy medium. Toppings were fresh and the pretzel roll was a great touch. By the time we left, some of the patrons were getting a little rowdy, but I'm not much of a bar person so I tend to be easily annoyed by that kind of thing. Because cabs are hard to come by there at that hour, our server showed me how to sign up for Uber, and gave us a code for a ride credit up to $20, so our ride back to the hotel was free. If I'm ever in that area again, I would absolutely eat at The Ogden again.

We had a fun time going here before a Bulls game. Decent apps. Our server did go MIA for a few minutes, but for the most part, she was good as well. Delicious alcoholic (10%) root beer. $10 valet and walk to the game. Cheap parking.

The Ogden is my favorite spot to watch a Bulls or a Blackhawks game or just to get something great to eat. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for awhile and this review is overdue. The menu has changed a few times but the food is consistently great. I haven't tried everything but my favorites are the buffalo chicken wrap and garlic buffalo wings and the breakfast burrito on the brunch menu. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgable and also very attentive, especially if you're sitting at the bar. I definitely recommend trying it out if you're looking for somewhere to watch a game (there are plenty of huge tvs) or just have some great drinks and food.

Okay.... for starters....TURN THE VOLUME DOWN! Holy crap it's LOUD in there. Not a good loud...it's ear- ringing loud. We went with a group during game 7 of the Hawks and you couldn't even understand what the announcer was saying because the speakers sounded like they were about to blow. The waitress couldn't even hear what we were ordering. ALSO...staff should be taught to ask if someone is done with a drink before taking it away. I'm sorry but if I'm paying $12 for a mixed drink I should drink every last drop. We asked for our bill just so we were ahead of the game and the waitress came and took my drink away when I wasn't half way done! And it was so loud that when I said "waaaait!!" she couldn't even hear me. So I get it...you're a sports bar...you play the music and sports loud... which, again, is fine but not when your eardrums are throbbing and you can't even hear the person next to you when they are screaming. So turn it down and teach your waiters how to properly clear drinks.

What a diamond in the rough. This particular section of Ogden Avenue is pretty desolate but the addition of The Odgen was a breath of fresh air. When we walked in, we were greeted with a modern sports bar atmosphere of contrasting woods and stone detailing, clean lines emphasized by a bar that ran nearly the length of the restaurant and lined impressively with bottles of booze and plentiful TV screens not only bar-side but in each booth alcove (although you couldn't change the channels on your booths personal viewing screen). I went with a black and tan (tan being Stella). It was great. The hubs and I shared a hummus app to start, which was a generous bowl of hummus accompanied with less than generous side of veggies and pita...three of each to be exact. It was a little hard to "share" that third piece. For grub, I went with the black bean burger. It was a generous patty topped with a generous amount of avocado and large slices of L-T-O and pickles on the side. I went with a side salad that came tossed with a balsamic vinaigrette, it was okay. Great atmosphere, nice beer selection, priced well and generously portioned (aside from the hummus appetizer), it's a good addition to the neighborhood.

Been here twice. Place is usually empty on non-game days. TV's are huge. All the food is presented very nicely on square plates but tastes average/below-average. Food also came out waaay too fast which made me question cook to order. Had cajun wings, didn't like them. Had soup, it was warm. Had chicken sandwich, it was basic. Bar didn't have all ingredients for a moscow mule. Might go here for a game for drinks but not loving up to the chef centered sports bar motif in my humble opinion.

Came here with friends to watch the Super Bowl...to be honest, I was expecting the worst. I never watch the Big Game at a bar because service is usually terribly slow, food takes forever, and it's just packed beyond belief. Not so at the Ogden! I was pleasantly surprised by our bubbly server and the speed of the food. There were 8 of us and everything came out quickly and correctly - amazing! I wish I had gotten the server's name so I could compliment her here. Our table had pork sliders, truffle fries, raspberry salad, wings, a chicken burger (I believe) and spinach & artichoke dip. Everyone was happy with their food and I was personally VERY happy with the raspberry salad - they didn't skimp on any ingredients and the breaded goat cheese on top was delicious! The decor was nice, bathrooms were clean, and staff friendly. Important things to me! My only complaint was the parking situation. They offer valet parking and when we arrived, my car was quickly parked. However, when we were trying to leave there was only one guy working and a line of people waiting for their cars. I wasn't exactly into standing outside in the freezing cold and snow, so I asked him to just grab my keys and I went to get my car myself. Overall, my first visit and definitely not my last! This vegetarian is always happy when bars have a number of veggie options, and this place definitely does. You can get your typical bar burger or a healthy, tasty salad. Definitely not your typical bar. I will be back for sure!

Location, location, location. This place would get lost in a more trendy area, but being where it is, its a gem. Bartenders were on the ball.

Honestly the place is hit and miss. I've had times where I go and the service is great, the waitresses are nice and the manager comes and talks to some of the patrons. Food comes out piping hot and drinks are served at the proper temperature and brought on time. Other times not so much. The last few times I've gone, surprisingly when the manager is not there, the place is just plain bad. ~30 people in the bar which is maybe 1/4th of their capacity and we still have to wait an hour for chicken tenders and nachos? AND it's all cold. Nevermind the fact that it's 15 minutes to get a bottled beer to our table. I think the problem is that the workers stop working when the manager's aren't around. Joe/Sean need to be on duty or get somebody that can get their workers in line on duty at all times cuz when they aren't there the place is COMPLETELY AWFUL.

Prior to heading to the UC for a Bulls playoff game, we stopped by for dinner. We had reservations at 6:30 pm and were sat down immediately. We had seen the menu earlier online as well as other website for suggestions and had decided on their wings and the Cowboy burger. Our server was prompt and on top, even though our order took a while (about 30 minutes) to get it to us. We filled the time with $4 Lagunitas. The placed filled up pretty quickly. The loud Top 40 hits we're annoying, but the atmosphere was great. There was good amount of people, with a great mix of young and old, as well as some families. Their bar is huge with what I estimate being 30 large screen tvs as well as smaller tvs in the booths. Our order came and were surprised at how well stacked the burger presentation was. Fried onion in a pretzel bun and then BEEF! We also order the garlic buffalo and Cajun wings, 6 each. There was a cayenne cream sauce holding the Cajun wings in place, whereas the buffalo sauce drenched the other 6. Of the two wings, the buffalo garlic were so good! Not too much garlic and plenty of buffalo sauce flavor. And the chicken wing itself was not crispy or skin gooey. It was smoked just right. The side blue cheese was really good. The Cajuns were not that Cajun, even with the cream sauce. I'd pass on them next time. But the BURGER...the Cowboy burger is one of the best tasting burgers in Chicago, bar none. We had it medium and that patty was perfectly cooked and SOOOOO GOOD!the beef flavor along with the sweetness of the ketchup and the taste of the onion ring was perfect. Each bite was pure heaven! The Cowboy burger needs to be the draw for this place because it is the very best in town! Overall, the Ogden is a great social place with a fantastic burger, nicely priced food and drinks, good service staff and inviting atmosphere. With specials like eating free between 3 pm to 6 pm, we are definitely returning to try the rest of the menu! We highly recommend it!

The good is still good - terrific, knowledgeable staff and delicious food. It seems like the bad has been handled. Delivery / take out orders have been outsourced and run much more smoothly. I would love to see Eggs Benedict on the brunch menu though!

What I look for in a bar, in priority order: * no frat boys -- I'm over that scene. * busy, but not slammed -- I want a fun vibe, but I don't want to have to scream at my friends for them to hear me. * good beer selection -- especially Kona, Lakefront or 3Flyods * greasy food -- some menu staples but maybe w/ a few twists What I found in Arrow on Ogden: * no frat boys -- Maybe I got lucky because I went in on a Tuesday night during the Hawks playoffs against the Kings. Hopefully weekend nights don't bring out the frats. * greasy food -- Yum yum yum! The mac & cheese w/ chorizo was to DIE for. Loaded fries were delish too. * good beer selection -- Eh, it wasn't anything special. I wasn't drinking that night so it made no difference to me, but the next time I'm back I hope they have a good seasonal in. * only a few full tables -- Other than a large group at the front of the bar by the lounge / pool table, it was pretty dead. But again, not sure how many people are die-hards who go to bars on Tuesdays just to watch the Hawks. I'll be back!

This place is good, I like it... their service is great, the staff has been nice, the food is high quality bar food. This is the perfect place to watch a game or have a few drinks with friends. Maybe its the 15(ish) 60" TV's, or maybe its the fact that the place is has a cool vibe and is never packed- but Arrow has their sights dialed in. Its VERY close to the United Center, so it is the perfecting landing pad post game, or pre-game food and watering hole. I will be back, you should too. Get the mac 'n cheese. Boom, its good.

This place is a roller coaster and seems to purely exist for Game days at the United Center. Come any other day and you will be sitting next to crickets. Plenty of room and semi comfortable seats for the tall tables. Beer selection is decent (hard stretch for great) and the real ups and downs are with the food. Not sure if they are running a full rotation with the cooks/chef or what. It is so inconsistent, you really do not know what to expect. However the food is not the reason this place gets a staunch 2 stars... Remember how I eluded the place is usually pretty empty, the crazy thing is the Bartenders are absolutely devoid of serving customers. I thought it was just one or two individuals but it seems it must be in the training manual. They certainly react and behave like the place is packed and do their best to avoid you. Oddly enough when the place is jammed packed with subur

This place I assume is really good for drinking since I usually see people partaking in that activity there quite frequently. It's very nice inside, very friendly people who take good care of you and it's quite huge... Not some stuffy bar. They have pool and plenty of seating and even well kept couches.. Lounge area! Food is quite good here for bar food and I've even had breakfast here and they give a large quantity! Lots and lots and lots of big screen TVs and there's always some game going on! All in all it's convenient for me and I thoroughly am pleased with what they do.

I think I've found my new bar, to go grab drinks and good food before a Bulls game. It's only about 3 blocks from the United Center or a 1-minute cab ride if you're late. There's some street parking in the area, but they offer valet parking if you can't find any. This sports bar looks really nice, with wooden floors, tables, walls, and a fireplace. The bar is lined with flat screens, well the place is loaded with TVs. Every booth even gets their own private TV. They have nice beer list, with plenty of craft beers on tap, with the likes of Three Floyds. Even better is the food, which isn't your typical sports bar grub. My favorite was the Mac n Cheese Curds. You get a large mug, filled with melted cheese curds and shell pasta, with a couple cheese curds on top. Super gooey, cheesy, and delicious. I also liked the Bacon, Dates, and Apples. I wasn't sure what kind of dish it would be from the menu, but it turned out to be a tasty salad. The bacon is super thick and goes great with the dates... as it always does. When I saw what was in the Animal Fries, I knew I had to order it. The fries are topped with pork ragu, cheese curds, pickled peppers, and a fried egg. It was a bit disappointing, but wasn't a big deal since the other food was great. The fries were good, but it just didn't go well together. The fries quickly got soggy, there were barely any cheese curds, and the ragu was a bit too strong in flavor. There's a lot of food on the menu that sound good, like the chicken fat popcorn, giant grilled buffalo turkey wings, and steak tartare. I'm definitely stopping here before going to my next Bulls game.

So my friend and I went to the Ogden for the first time just before the Queen concert. We were greeted and seated nicely and promptly but it took some time before we got any contact from a server. We ordered drinks but they came about 10 minutes after we ordered them. Then it took about 10 more minutes before she returned to take our order. More disappointingly, it took about 40 minutes for two appetizers to be served while three other tables that were seated after us got served before us. The burger was delicious by the way but the flatbread pizza crust was heavily burnt and there were practically no toppings on it. After complaining about this to our server she said she would send over a manager but never did. We asked her for silverware and napkins and never received them, having to take them off of another table on our own. Now had she apologized for the delay or for being too busy or for a manager that was just too busy to come over at that moment i would not be so upset. But when we asked for one more drink before we left, we got an eye roll like we were asking her for a big favor and an attitude like she was being over-taxed to take care of us. And it wasn't like the place was packed. It wasn't. So the bottom line is, take your chances when going to The Ogden. I usually don't criticize service but this was an epic failure in hiring and training and in how not to treat a guest. Go at your own risk.

Great animal fries. Our waiter Matthew was a cutie! He was so very knowledgeable about the menu. The Ogden chicken sandwich I had was super yummy. My son had chicken strips & said they were awesome. Hubby had a flatbread pizza. Service was great. Nice atmosphere, plenty of TV's to make my crew happy!

I want to give Ogden 5 stars, I really do but like everyone else said its a tad overpriced. I dropped $48 on 4 drinks and a beer. However, the drinks are exceptionally made so I really can't complain too much. I wish I had something to eat here because everything looks delicious. Its a sports bar, people shouldn't expect to get huge, elaborate servings. The menu is extremely thought out and its not-your-average bar fare. Everything has a nice flare to it and each dish is made with something you would never expect to go well together. My friend's friend had the duck taco which I had a bite of. It was loaded with mushrooms, goat cheese, and cabbage. I love duck and goat cheese, but hate mushrooms however I loved the flavor of the mushrooms in the taco- shocking! Now on to my main meal- the 5 course drink dinner! Like the food, the drinks were crafted exceptionally well: 1. I first tried the Diablita which was basically a pomegranate tequila margarita. It was very tasty, a bit sweet, and very salty. There was a salt rim, but I think there was actual salt in the margarita itself. Its sweetened with agave nectar complimented by sour lime juice. 2. Next up was the Ginger Slap. I love ginger so I knew I would enjoy this drink. Its made with ginger simple syrup which adds the perfect amount of tang. I did not like the rum so much, I wish it was made with some other type of liquor, I feel like gin would compliment the ginger well. 3. The third, and best, drink I tried was Lakeshore Drive. It was gin, acai, lime juice, and ginger beer. The acai was sweet, the lime made it sour, and the ginger beer added a kick. It was the perfect harmony of flavors. This is the only one I would get next time. 4. For the next drink I wanted to stick with the same ginger beer theme. I decided to get the Tuscan Mule. Its made with Tuaca, which is basically a vanilla, citrus liquor, lime juice, and of course, ginger beer. This one was OK, but it was a bit to sweet for my liking. 5. The last drink I always order when I go out is a nice beer to wind the night down. I looked at the tap and didn't see one beer I recognized. Some of the names I can remember are Unita Baba, Delirium Tremens, Allagash White, and Unibroue Ephemere. I was hoping to see blue moon, I mean that's a crafty beer right?! Well it wasn't there so I decided to go with the Ephemere which was an apple flavored beer from Canada. Its red in color and serves in a stella artois shaped glass. It was the perfect way to end a sweet night. All in all, I plan on going back. Maybe I'll leave the drinking to others and stick to the food. The prices are the only thing I really didn't mesh well with. Each cocktail was $10 and the beer ran me $8. I'm not going to hold it against them that much. What really made the prices alright was the excellent service though. The bartender, Shawn, was extremely helpful with explaining each drink to me. This is a great spot to watch the game with friends and has a sort of lounge, homey feel about it. TVs line the back of the bar and there is one in each booth. Its a pretty cool twist on your typical neighborhood sports bar.

Name change! The Ogden is now Arrow. Not sure why the name change- but maybe it has to do with the signage out front with is a huge downward pointing arrow? No matter. Just know it comes up differently in a search although it's still the same place!

Love the brightly lit arrow in front. They've got a great selection of drinks, live music on Friday nights (I don't know if this is a new thing, but that's what they had last Friday at least), and a pool table. Fun times on a Friday night can definitely be had here! Great crowd, great energy, and tv's all around. Next time gotta try the food.

This is a very nice place to relax, very nice open area. My husband and I tried it out as it's close to home and it wasn't jam packed. The food is decent but feel they should have a bigger selection as I would love to just sit down and have dinner and not just "bar food" as the ambiance of his place is very nice. It can be a little slow as every time that we went there was only one waitress. I would definitely return for the convenience of the location to home and the ambiance. Nice place to have a party but needs to have a nice deejay.

It's been a couple of weeks since my visit to the Ogden. I know I had a good burger and some tasty wings, but all I remember is the Bourbon-infused Beer. It was Beer that was aged inside a Bourbon barrel. It may have been the best Beer I've ever tasted. Here's the foggy bottom line: The beautiful interior, personalized TV's at the tables and great food were all overshadowed by the Bourbon-infused beer. When I die, I want be be buried in one of those barrels.

I actually love this place. I have gone many times before and after hawks games and I never had a bad time. The decor is nice, the layout is good, they have tv's everywhere, the food is good, drinks are good and the staff is great. My favorite part is that they have delerium on tap and other not so readily available beers. I have even been able to stop in, grab a seat near the fireplace and order a scotch at times. I can't say anything bad about this bar to be honest.

Great experience, great food, great location. We came here before a Blackhawks game starting off the night with Not Your Dad's Rootbeer Beer.. So good. My party split an order of fried pickles, then for entrees we chose their chicken sandwich, buffalo chicken wrap, and BLT. All were great, can't wait to go back!

Review by D: I have a mixed review about my dining experience this past Saturday. Pros: I made a reservation for 4 people for Saturday night before Kings of Leon. Even though we showed up early, we were able to seated right away. HUGE PLUS since the bar was so packed. Also, I love that you can make reservations online- another score! Food was good, but I felt it was a little over priced. I know this is supposed to be "upscale" bar food, but I didn't get that feeling from any our dishes. We had the chicken wings (wtf was up with all the drummettes? I am one of the few people who HATES them. I think there was one flat on the plate! Boo!). Fried pickles were good too and portions were pretty large. Things went slightly downhill with my order. I ordered a veggie burger without cheese and asked to have French fries instead of the side salad. My plate comes out with a side salad. I inform the waitress of this mistake and my fries come out quickly. Annoying, but resolved rather quickly. Next, I bite into my veggie burger and taste something cheese-like. I flag down the waitress and remind her I asked for no cheese. I open the burger to show her and its not cheese but some kind of thick pink sauce. She tells me its some kind of creme sauce and begins to argue with me. I tell her that the sauce should be listed on the menu description of the burger. Don't surprise people with additional ingredients! I want to know when I order something, what's on it. PERIOD. I explained this to the waitress and she took my plate. I received another veggie burger after everyone in my party had finished their meals plus an additional side salad. I'll chalk this up to a busy night because the food and atmosphere were decent, but my biggest gripe is-- always disclose what comes in your meal on the menu! This mishap could have been avoided!!

I would give zero stars if I could this place is terrible. Food is decent but service is awful and it is always empty. Bartenders ignore you and chill at the end of the bar socializing. They didn't know if it was still brunch service or not so they just said , "I guess it's over." We were the only table there and waited almost 15 minutes to get acknowleged. The worst!

This place is excellent! We had our work holiday party here in December and the staff was more than accommodating. The food was great, they made specialized drinks for our company, the DJ was amazing, I could go on and on. This bar is definitely worth checking out. They get pretty busy for Hawks and Bulls games and it is a ton of fun!

Came here after the Paul McCartney show an even tho the place was empty I loved it. Bartender Matt was amazing. Being from out of town I wanted to try local brews which he had a plethora of knowledge on. He gave me multiple samples as well as a vast amount of bar and activity options for the rest of my trip. Next time I'm in town I will definitely be back.

I went to The Ogden on 02/17/14 after a long day at the hospital. It was my first time eating here even though I pass by on a daily basis. Upon walking in I was pleasantly surprised to find that on a Monday there was actually a large crowd hanging out and having a great time. I ordered the pulled pork mini sliders and my friend ordered The Ogden chicken sandwich. After about a half hour wait, it was crowded, the food did arrive. I found that my pulled pork sliders were about average but the sliced apples on top did give it a nice flavor. My friend said the chicken sandwich was excellent (obviously I ordered the wrong thing) and he would definitely return. His sandwich came with hand cut fries, my ultimate weakness, and I must say they were amazing. Any place that serves hand cut fries I would def return back too.

Went with good friends on a Sunday before heading to the UC for a Blackhawks playoff game. Beer selection was great, nice atmosphere with lot of Hawks fans as you would expect but not overcrowded. The pulled pork and the shrimp & grits appetizers were outstanding. Also had 2 orders of wings and while the quality of the chicken was good the sauce was cold as if it was poured on right out of the frig instead of being baked on. Normally would have sent it back but under then gun to get to the game. Having said that would give the Ogden another shot. Valet parking is the usual $10 but a nice deal if you are going to the game since it is walking distance and saves you $15-$20 compared to the other lots.

I decided to go here after reading some other Yelp reviews. We were headed for a night out at the United Center, and rather than eat/drink there we settled on going to the Arrow first. I'm glad we did. It's a nice sports bar with a ton of TV screens. We started out with the mac and cheese which had bacon in it. It was really good and the portion size easily fed the two of us. Next we had the basic cheeseburgers, which were done a perfect medium as requested. Tons of beers here. I had the Revolution Anti-hero IPA which was tasty. Only two things prevented a fifth star. Slow service, which might just be because of being short staffed and not the server's fault. The other was I was initially charged $6 for each beer, when the menu read $5. This was quickly rectified once pointed out. It gets very loud once it fills up, just a warning. Otherwise it was a very good experience. This could easily become my go to place near the United Center.

This sports bar, which sports a fireplace and lounge furniture, is a kind of oasis in an area not known for it's robust bar scene. I stopped by after a weekday Bulls game and was pleasantly surprised to see Arrow busy but not swamped. The place can easily be described as cavernous, with the aforementioned lounging seats, bar stools, and assorted tables throughout. Hot tip: make this your postgame hangout spot.

One day my friend wanted to head to the Boiler Room for a day drink or two, but due to having a lackluster lunch that left me hungry, I wanted something that wasn't pizza. From the moment we walked into The Ogden, I knew I was going to be a happy camper. So many TVs! If you're in a booth you can ask for a specific game and they'll happily change the channel for you. I love it! Speaking of those booths, they're awesome simply because you don't feel as though you're hearing the person behind you/you have some privacy. Oh, and they're huge. After having one beer too many, I was tired and was able to turn my body towards the bar and stretch my legs. I'd say you could fit 4-6 people in there. Anyhow, they have an impressive beer list, including some beers I've forgotten about/haven't had in years! Oddly enough, my latest favorite is the Hopslam. I also really enjoy their bloody marys. I'm actually not a huge fan of a ton of unnecessary crap in my drink, but The Ogden makes it work. The slim jim and pearl onions are great when soaked with booze, and normally I'll settle for a couple of olives. Regardless, it's not as spicy as I can handle, but that's easily fixed with an "extra spicy, please". Plus, for a $1 more you get that cute little High Life beer back. Now, the food has yet to disappoint! Wait, that's a lie. I'm dumb and when I read "olives and peppers" I thought of olives and peppers you'd find in a bloody. Wrong. They're talking olive bar olives. A nice mix of them covered in oil. Not bad, but if I had my thinking cap on I would have realized what they were before we ordered them. Whatever, my friend loves any type of olives, so she was happy. The pretzel is 5 sticks of warm, soft, not overly salty pretzel with a mustard. Everyone else seems to love the mustard, but I'm just not a mustard person, no matter how many times I try. That's fine though, because I'm perfectly happy with the pretzel itself. Plus, the sticks make it easier to share as an appetizer instead of everyone touching the pretzel to pull off pieces. I'm a big fan of the burger (with cheese and bacon!) because it's always juicy and flavorful, and most importantly, filling. Now, I finally came for brunch and ATE brunch and I was not disappointed, at all. The short rib hash, the biscuits and gravy, the potato cheddar soup w/ bacon....it was all so delicious. I feel like our table just kept asking or demanding people try each other's dish. In fact, one friend even finished her french toast and she never finishes her food. Either she was starving, or it was just that good.....I'm going with the latter. I've tried other items from the menu and have found I'm always happy with my choice. Every server/bartender has been great and while they all know their beer, some REALLY know their stuff. It's a nice atmosphere. Inviting and relaxing, even on game days. There really isn't a bad seat in the place and I have yet to feel as though it was so packed I couldn't move through the crowd comfortably, and I've been here before a Bulls game. As others mentioned, it's so close to the United Center, it's clearly going to be a stop along the way. Sports and beer galore! Oh, and they have beer that should appeal to all beer drinkers in the group. One friend was disappointed with their lack of Corona, but she drinks Miller Lite most of the time anyhow, so she really had nothing to pout about. I'm definitely a fan.

The kind of sports bar perfectly situated, I think, away from the average Chicago sports fan. Walk into this bar and you will find a different breed of cat. My observation is based on my 1 visit there. As far as I could tell, there was plenty of free street parking. I also think my visit was on an off night for sports. When I walked in, the decor immediately threw off the aura of a micro brewery more than anything. I remember high ceilings and different shades of browns and greys which I felt were defined primarily by the wood and metal materials used to design the interior. The bar was an open design, but didn't feel like a gymnasium. I could tell it would be able to accommodate standing traffic without having everyone packed in like sardines. I say this thinking of Superbowl weekends or various ball games that might draw a crowd. I liked the way the place was set up. Right when you walk in, there is the bar with bar stools, and then high tables with bar stool seats. Toward the back there are actual sit down tables for people who want a cozier place to eat. I really felt that was a great idea. I think as a result this place might lend itself to being a good place to "pregame" it with friends, and get some food in your stomach, before hitting the club. I don't think this is a place you take a first date. The bathrooms were roomy and very clean. I almost wonder if they could have squeezed 1 extra toilet in each of the bathrooms in order to accommodate for those beer swilling sports crazies who need to break the seal on game day. I went there on a fluke and I can't see myself going back unless I end up dating another moderate sports fan, and I am subjected to watching a game. I will definitely be dragging him here. The place just doesn't seem snooty. It isn't filled with those local Chicago southsiders that throw the kind of accent that makes you wonder if they might be from Green Bay, WI either. Perish the thought if this bar saw a Packers fan! Definitely go. They have a decent beer selection to ward off a beer snob. This is a great place for a bunch of dudes to just hang out and catch up.

My fiancé and I had reservations an hour and a half before the start of a concert. We knew it would be crazy busy, but there were still many open tables when we arrived. Sat down immediately, waited a while for the waitress to get our drink order, waited more for the drinks, waited again for her to take our food order. We ordered their putine/load fries appetizer. And we waited at least an hour and fifteen minutes for French fries! Then they came out cold and missing the cheese curds! We had to flag her down and ask where our food was. I have never been so tempted to walk out of a restaurant before. When we were finally able to flag down our waitress to tell her (she didn't stop back, we had to stop her again), she asked if we wanted another order or it comped. Well, almost two hours of being there, we told her to comp it. Then we waited for our check of two drinks, then for her to take our payment, and again for her to bring the receipt. All of this happened while we watched other people come and go with meals. I stood around to see if I could find the manager who seated us but he was nowhere to be found. At least the opening act was lame and we didn't miss the main act. I wouldn't have gambled then!

The Ogden is awesome! The atmosphere, food and service are all fantastic. My friend and I went here tonight prior to a Bulls game. Its a great pregame location because it is within walking distance of the United Center. They have valet parking but we were able to find a close street spot. Waking in for the first time, the bar seems really cozy with friendly waitresses greeting us right away and a blazing fireplace! Brick and wood decor add to the homey feel. The booths here are awesome! You get your own personal TV to watch whichever game is on. Tonight the Saints and Giants were playing which was a friggin awesome game! They have a good selection of craft & import beers, I went with the Old Speckled Hen from England. One issue, the price said $4 but we realized they charged us $6.50. Whats up with that? Now on to the food! Its unlike any other food I've had at a bar! We had the animal fries which were very good but probably not something I would get again. They were covered in ragu with moist pork in it and topped with an egg. We also tried the bacon date salad. This was a great, light option! Yep, I said it was a light option even though it has bacon in it. Honestly, it felt really good to have something that wasn't so heavy with our beers. Apple, dates, bacon, some leafy non-lettuce salad character, and nuts made for a really tasty bite. I truly enjoyed this dish. And finally the dish of all dishes for me was their mac & cheese. I'm a mac & cheese aficionado or so I like to think and this Mac & Cheese is Sarah Approved! It is BEYOND cheesy & creamy with cheese curds-yes you read that right-right in the mac & cheese. Cheese curds are a guilty pleasure of mine to have them in this mac & cheese is just genius! The portion is huge and filling and could make for a whole meal in my opinion. All in all, it was a great meal in a fantastic location with a very friendly staff! I will be recommending The Ogden to all my friends as a great pre & post game place for some good drinks & tasty grub!

Oh Ogden. You've changed. You added that Arrow to your name and got rid of all of your interesting food. Where are the turkey wings? What happened to the egg on the burger? Where the hell did you go with my chicken fat popcorn? So sad.

Just saw the The Ogden added Boxing PPV fights and UFV PPV events. This just put them over the top as my favorite sports bar in Chicago. I'll definitely be going for the Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley fight as well as UFC 172. Nice add Ogden!

No idea what it used to be, but love what it is! Had dinner here for the first time yesterday on the recommendation of a friend. We ordered a lot, not realizing how big the portions were going to be: We had the loaded fries with onion gravy, cheese curds, cheddar, and bacon - so good, it could've been my meal just in and of itself. 3 parmesan crusted chicken sliders. Mac and cheese shells with bacon and crumblies - it was so creamy and crunchy and perfect! Husband's buffalo chicken wrap was HUGE and came with handcut fries. We were very impressed with how much food there was for the prices - very reasonable for being in the city. We also enjoyed the table side tv's and that the music was not obnoxiously loud. I don't go into the city much. But the food here is worth going back for!

Food was great but service horrible. We did go before a Hawks game. But I would think they expect that crowd. No wait for a table but had to ask if the waitress knew we were there after no waters and no one coming buy for about 10 mins. After ordering was at least 30-40 before we received our food. We had to flag waitress and she said its really backed up, should she cancel the order? OMG! The manager came by to say food was on the way. I asked again 5 mins later. He said he saw it being plated. Well that worried me since it was taking so long to make it to the table. Took forever to get chk too. Valet got car before we got bill. Should have just left.

Food service took a bit long, but decent food and drinks. Personal TVs at the booths is a plus. We came for a playoff Hawks game - good crowd, but you still can grab a seat.

Been here a few times in the past month or so and it's always very un-crowded. I'm not sure why either, the food is great the atmosphere is also really nice. Maybe just because it's in a slightly odd location? The service has been very good and the sandwiches excellent. The fries are amazing...and the give you a ton of them. My friend loves the pulled pork.

Found this place on Yelp as we were looking for someplace close to the United Center to hang out before the Prince concert. The goal was there there early to take advantage of street parking around 6 pm. The bar is close enough to the UC so you can walk there. The decor was really nice, nice clean lines. We walked in and were immediately seated. Service was pretty good and the food was nice (we got the cheeseburger bacon sliders, salt/pepper fries and naked wings). Drinks are on the expensive side but are tasty (according to my friends). If you are a wine drinker, I would suggest that you go with the bottle option as it is cheaper than getting it by the glass. Would have given this 5 stars but I observed two things that knocked it down: * first thing was that one of bus boys brought out an order of cheeseburger bacon sliders to our table about 5 min after I had placed my order. I didn't eat it but let it sit there as I wanted to wait for my fries. After sitting for about 10 min, our waitress came over and was surprised to see cheeseburger bacon sliders. Turns out that they were for the table next to us. She simply took them from our table and gave them to the correct table. * second, the table next to us all went out for a smoke, leaving their beers. The host started to clean the table, removing their beers. The people came in, asked about their drinks and the host immediately brought back the original drinks. I just felt that since I had been talking over the cheeseburger bacon sliders that were at my table as well as the fact that the table next to us had their drinks removed, the host should have brought out new items. On that note, gotta say that it was not a deal breaker for me. Overall, I had a great time there and will make this my go to place when I am going to events at UC.

Arrow on Ogden seems to be the place to go before heading to the United Center. I came upon the bar, while looking for a place to hang before heading to the United Center for a show. When my husband and I arrived, it was still quite early. The food selection was pretty decent. I enjoyed the flatbread pizza as well as their fully loaded fries. The husband, however, was not impressed with his buffalo wrap. The one thing that really bothered me about The Arrow was how loud they turned the music up once the bar filled up a bit. The volume was beyond the regular background bar music, it was as if we had walked into a night club. So all the reasons why I liked this place went down the drain when the volume went up.

I played a show there last week and it was my first time being at The Ogden. Great environment and the staff were incredibly nice. I got the grilled cheese with bacon and it was actually something to write home about. Anytime goat cheese is one of the cheeses, it's a no brainer. Really good beer selection with a concise drink menu. On the grilled cheese the menu also says chihuahua is in the sandwich. Fun Fact: Chihuahua is also a type of cheese so no need to worry that your sandwich has bits of dog in it. Will return.

Great, relaxing bar with lots of TVs and it is never very crowded. Great food, especially truffle Mac and cheese. Manger is very chill, makes effort to actually conversate with u when ure sitting by the bar. Definitely recommend it.

Love this place! This staff here is amazing, always on top of it from sitting you to making sure your drinks are full, even a diet coke! Their wings are the best, they are smoked first and than covered in buffalo or bbq sauce! I also like their nachos! their menu does change pretty often. Best time to go is during an event, they have TVs everywhere with an awesome atmosphere!

Nice looking place. First time here for Bears game. Leaving at half time. It took 15 minutes for my bear in a half empty place. Horrible, horrible service, when we asked for the bill it came in less than 20 seconds. No beer specials and no personality.

  • Jack K.

Went in for end of the Bears game before heading over to the UC for Hawks vs. Sharks. No problem getting a table. Service was fast and friendly. Lost of good craft beer on tap. Food was very tasty. Yes, the gameday menu is rather limited, but my only recommendation would be to add a burger option, sliders maybe. Easily the best place to go before or after Bulls/Hawks games, only a very short walk from the United Center. Will be back.

Stopped at the Ogden before an event at the United Center. They obviously get plenty of traffic before events, and are well prepared! We enjoyed the broad tap selection and our sampling of the food. We had the salt & pepper fries & the Italian Sub. After watching trays go by in front of us, we wished we had tried the sliders! They looked great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and managed to get all four of my party drinks & snacks without a notepad (although this generally makes me nervous). In my experience, if a place has both fries & chips, one is better than the other. Not so at the Ogden. The fries were cooked perfectly, as were the chips that came with the sub. The Ogden looses a star for having an out of date tap list on the website. I would rather not see a tap list then peruse one then arrive to a completely different selection.

You like sports on giant TVs stretching the full length of the bar? They got that. You like a huge drink menu with many local beers? They got that. You like friendly attentive service with a smile? They got that too. When I eat there, I will update. But so far I've just been for drinks and sports on the telly. I will be back for sure.

Wish I could give 4.5 stars. We stopped in during Big 10 tourney just for the game. Staff was spot on for an early Sunday. Each dish brought to us was impressive and better than expected. They even went so far as to ask us what we would like to see improved. Thats pretty rare. I would go out of my way to visit Arrow my next time in Chicago.

Good place to watch sports. Very modern clean look. I thought drinks would be cheaper given the locale near the United Center but maybe it's gentrified now. Food: Mac and cheese crumbs and mussels were very good. The duck tacos fall apart in your hand - they need to use stronger tortillas, taste was pretty good tho. Nothing amazing here but all pretty solid. Very spacious if you're rolling with a big crew. Wow - i wrote the review before realizing they're getting almost a 5 star rating. This is called anchoring, see. But i'm gonna stand firm with my initial assessment.

I live above this place and have found it to be quite a nice bar to watch the games and snack on some appetizers. The staff is friendly and very personable. The culture is relaxed, which I enjoy because I go to places like this to relax. This place has awesome decorations and looks very upscale and new. It has a ton of TVs and seating. There are even a couple pool tables. Next time you are wanting to watch a game without being covered in people, I would check out this bar. Definitely get the chicken fingers, as they have excellent breading on them and make for a tasty snack.

WHEN: My husband and I were here on 3/23/2012. LOOKS: Very pretty, I like the look a lot, super modern. Ton's of TV's, I would assume a great place to watch a game. HOW: We saw a segment in 190 North - and we were really excited to try the turkey wings. When we had looked up the menu online - saw they have chicken fat popcorn - we pretty much ran there. Parking was easy - we made sure there was nothing at the United Center first. DETAILS: We had the potato flat-bread - it was okay not great I think over priced.... more about $10.00 not $12.00. There was nothing to it really, not even a great flavor. The turkey wings were excellent, of course they are larger then chicken but you are only given 2 and some slaw... I think 3 is ideal. Or though some celery in there... something. The popcorn to die for! If sharing with more then 2 ppl. would not be a large enough serving. I almost think this is something that should be served in baskets and placed on the table as a given. (makes me think of Chicago Q, with the homemade bbq chips on the table) Deviled Egg Crostini very good - but once again should have 5 toasts not 4... I mean deviled eggs are not expensive. I felt the portions were small, seemed stingy to me. SERVICE: The place was pretty much empty for a Friday night @ 7PM. The service was okay... the waitress gave us our menus, asked if we have any questions.... we didn't at the time but when she returned we did - and they were out of the Brandade Cakes (what we were asking about) - don't you think you should have told us that as you were handing us the menus? also - They were OUT of Iced Tea ..... um really.

Living in the city for the first time with kids has made our selection of places more interesting. We now have to find "kid friendly" and "family friendly" places. When it comes to watching sports at bars and pubs, this isn't always the easiest thing. So when we saw that "The Ogden" was "Kids: OK" we decided to check it out. When we got there, we weren't sure if that was the case as the place is very nice. It seemed like an upscale bar or nightclub based on its decor. Yet we were greeted by friendly staff that assured us that kids were "totally OK." It was a Sunday, and the Bears were at home, so it was fairly empty. This surprised us, but it was NOT an indication of their quality. Their brunch menu was imaginative, but not too crazy. They had something for everyone, including the kids. I would describe the menu as "American, with some upscale flavor." For example, they had french toast, but made with banana bread. They also had sliders of all varieties including sausage and gravy. The prices were decent too. Their beer and liquor selection was solid and well priced. The place is really nice, without being uppity. There are TV's at all the booths, and enough BIG screens that you can't miss what you want to watch. Honestly, I loved the atmosphere even though it was a blend of sports meets "upscale" lounge. Definitely a nice find for families, based on how inviting they were.

Just look for the BIG Arrow on the west side of Ogden Avenue right before you reach the united center, can't miss it. I am really glad this contemporary haven opened up within walking distance to the UC. No shuttle needed, and sometimes they will even let you leave your car there with the valet. I really enjoy the laid back classy casual atmosphere, tons of TV's and great service. They have a great local and craft beer selection that I am a big fan of or a cool Pabst blue ribbon if that's what you prefer. I have not been dissapointed with the food, I love the loaded fries and the burgers are delicious. I also enjoy the wings and the turkey club are good for a table splitter or app. This is my go to pre and post event United center bar without a doubt.

Basically a pre United Center bar....THAT's IT! Also a great majority of the bar stools and high top seats are lawn furniture. What a joke. The most uncomfortable things in the world to sit on. The owner of this place must have run out of cash. The place is totally decked out yet the seats are lawn furniture......embarrassing.

This place is a hidden Gem! Great beer selection, food that definitely beats expectations and typical bar food, and a truly great staff that really goes above and beyond to satisfy any need and get to know their customers. Also great for games and closest bar to the UC on game days! Never brought anyone who hasn't come back on their own. Free street parking and cheap valet also a major plus.

I've been to this spot twice now and can't wait to go back again. The first outing we were so impressed with the space (it had a comfy feel with a fireplace and great for viewing games with all the TV's) that we took our friends with for the next visit and they loved it every bit as much as we did. The food is upscale bar food and it's clear that there's a real chef in the kitchen. The turkey wings had been recommended to us so we started there are were not disappointed. We also had the mac n cheese, ranch popcorn...EVERYTHING is delicious. The one thing that bothered me is that although they have a tremendous beer selection they don't put on the menu that lite beer is available. I even asked our server if they had any lite selections and she pointed out lagers, which after a few beers they all are just too flavorful for me. The second time I was there I specifically asked for a Bud Lite (or Coors Lite, I forget what they actually had) and they did in fact have it! I love a good beer but after a few I want the lite, watered down stuff.

These five stars are for drinks, staff and ambiance! I had already eaten but the menu looks awesome. It's an absolutely gorgeous bar, very current and sexy. Drinks were really good and they had a HUGE selection and really cheap beer which is always nice. The bartender who I suspect is the owner or manager was so nice and really cool.

This place has had a serious identity crisis. First, it was The Ogden: a cool new bar with amazing beer and gourmet bar food. Now, it is Arrow on Ogden: ok beer selection and equally ok food. Sad that it changed... no longer a destination for two locals in the neighborhood.

My fiance and I have been 4 - 5 times now, since we live next door. The food is great and the atmosphere cozy due to the fireplace. The staff have seemed a little frazzled and not quite sure about what is going one, but I am still giving it 5 stars because I am giving them credit for learning new menu's etc. The burger is one of the best I've had also the turkey wings are awesome! Awesome beer list as well!

Yelp is right on here with 4 stars. Nice big place with a lot of great beers (Hitachino Nest White?!?!) I'd like to go back here to eat sometime, but I don't think I'll have the popcorn again... Even the small was too much flavor to handle.

Stopped in with my cousin to have a quick bite to eat before the Bruno Mars concert this past Saturday. Never going back!! They weren't sure about letting us in since my cousin is under age, but since it was early evening they said okay, which was much appreciated. But everything went down hill from there. The manager dropped us at a table with 2 menus, a bus boy brought us some water about 5 minutes later and we sat there for 25 minutes as the owner, waitress, and some other manager kept walking past our table like we didn't even exist. Needless to say we never got waited on, we just up and left. Absolutely ridiculous, wouldn't recommend this place and I most definitely will never be coming back here.

Nice, airy space. The front wall opens up when the weather is nice so there's semi outdoor seating. Good service & beer selection. Food wise, I ordered the beef sandwich. A little thrown off that it was thinly sliced for a brisket and didn't have much flavor. the bread was also like a huge brick and was not fresh. the fresh cut fries saved the meal. A great place to go before or after a game at the united center and hope it does well in the off season.

Walked in 2 hours before the start of a Hawks game. 20 minutes after sitting, there was no sign of a server. I found the manager and he retrieved a server for us. She was very nice but told us if we wanted the food before face off, we would have to order from a " fast menu" so we obliged. 40 minutes Later, still no food. I found the manager again and told him the situation. Not Even an apology from the guy. We left one hour later without being served our food. No one in the place said a simple " I'm sorry." This place seems to have become arrogant and is not the same as it was in the past.

I was here before the Black Keys show and the place was slammed. They had no idea that the show was happening and were not prepared. Why the 4 stars? As someone who comes from a business owner parents, works with tons of businesses and is a professional diner/guest so to speak...they did us right! I believe the gentlemen that served us was the owner/gm - he explained that they were taken by surprise and had only 1 server, beautiful sunny day in March, I am sure he had a hell of a time trying to get any other staff to come in on their day off! Anyway, he took our orders and though it took a bit (probably would have, properly staffed or not, the place was packed!) he returned with our drinks stating they were comped and then the runner brought us a little extra something that was on the house as well. I am not a cheap o where I get swooned by free food, I do feel that service and taking care of mistakes sometimes lacks generally speaking. Ogden made a great impression because they were exceptional in how they handled it - this is often not the case for restaurants/bars in this category. This guy did us right and handled the situation as I would have, had it been my business. It was my first time and I look forward to returning! Food; Animal fries - good wish the tomato sauce wasn't on it - hoping that the fries are more crisp and there are more curds and pork on them next time around. Turkey wings were brought out and I won't not order those when I get back - blue cheese slaw was amazing as well. Duck tacos - Very good, great big portion! mussels - Good, very good, not the best I've ever had but definitely good. I am basing this review on the following; Situation we walked into and how it was handled. Amazing menu that is intriguing and different from other options The food and drink options!

I can see this place getting legs pretty quick. The location is a little odd, and I can see people walking right past this. They have done a great job though. Interior is great, the huge space up front is a little odd; but you get past that quick. Burger was juicy and the fries came out hot on my first trip. Big fan of the beer list right now. This has knocked off Beer Bistro as my go-to pre-hawks bar.

Went to this restaurant for the first time before a Bulls game with a few of my friends. First impression of the restaurant was great, plenty of LCD screens to watch all the sports. But on the service end, very slow... took us awhile to get some beer and when we re-ordered more rounds of beers our waitress would forget to bring us one of two of what we ordered. 3 of us ordered burgers and fries and ordered medium rare on the burger.. when we got them they were all well done and the bun used was somewhat cold and dry..the bun literally cracked and breaks apart cause it's so dry... I will not come back to this place again..

So I never really rate anything poorly in life, as I'm not that difficult to please overall (I may be biased, true). At any rate, my 2 companions would agree with what I am about to say so there you have 3 opinions rolled into one, thus diffusing my bias-nature to my own self. I digress... We had just come off a wonderful dinner at Tavernita (Jan 27th, Friday night) and wanted to grab a drink around 9pm or so. The Bulls were playing the Bucks at home, and when we got to The Ogden the place was cleared out except for a dozen folks at the bar and a few booths and random tables with people. We decided to take a pub table directly in the middle of the floor, in front of the bar and near booth folk. The bus boy brought us our menus and we proceeded to sit there for no less than ten-fifteen minutes. There were 2 servers that night, both of which looked at us while passing and walking next to us and not once asked if we were being helped. Finally, my husband went directly to the bar to place an order for 2 beers and a mixed drink, and told him that we had been sitting there for quite some time. He apologized. An additional 5 minutes later, our server came over and apologized saying she thought the other woman got our table. 'Fine, whatever, let's just try to enjoy the rest of the night' we thought. We ordered the soft pretzel (good) and the mac and cheese with cheese curds...or, not. Not one curd in our bowl!! Not a single one!! What a letdown. We ordered maybe 3 more rounds of drinks, and not one round was brought out any faster than our first one - which took about 15 minutes. We could never understand it. Folks came from the Bulls game when it was over back into the bar, and got served quicker and more efficiently than we did. We will not be back. Cool venue and good idea/location for sports games and concerts alike at the UC, but the service (contrary to previous posts I read on yelp before coming here) left a lot to be desired.

This place is great, would go back. My husband and I used a groupon here and got a great deal, not to mention the food, it was amazing. Really wish more people knew about this place, it's one of the few places on Ashland that has good food and great drinks! Got a chicken wrap and my husband got a the chicken sandwich, we had drinks that came with our groupon and was a definite plus!

I was just here last week and I think it's a great place to eat and drink, if you have the money. Anywhere I can find that many craft beers that can suit any of my beer moods is top on my list. The food is creative and tasty. However, like the rest of the reviews, I agree they are a bit overpriced and a little lacking. Either keep the price and beef up the plate or reduce the price to match the quantity. I love the decor and feel and music selection. Everything is a little unexpected and done well. It is a great spot to meet out, pregame, late night or sit down for dinner even. I will definitely go back just not as often as I may like do to the pricing.

I go back and forth on The Ogden. I live nearby so I have had the opportunity to go before and after a Bulls game, on a weekday and weekend night with no games, and Sunday for Brunch. Every time I have visited I have been disappointed in the service. I have taken a group of people here, had the server take two drink orders for two people in my party, randomly walk away, and then come back and finish the order. The same night, our server brought our check without even asking us if we were done. We were there for drinks and drinks alone and apparently she was done serving us. For brunch we ate at the bar (how could you be forgotten at the bar?). Two of the three people in my party got their food at the same time and I waited for about 10 minutes after their food came. No explanation, no one stopped by during my wait to tell me it would be up. I've worked in restaurants and know a ticket in the kitchen can get misplaced (you'd hope not at a "chef-driven" sports bar, but whatever). Disappointing. I am a huge craft brew person and I want to love this place. Tons of TVs, good food and great beer. But looking past the service is difficult.

Visited the Ogden a few weeks ago on a Thursday night (non-game night). Wanted to check it out without the craziness. I would like to give this place more stars and likely will eventually once they get their feet on the ground. The bartenders were very friendly and conversed with us for a while. You can tell this is a brand new bar as soon as you walk in. There is a 30+ foot long bar with some nice, huge flat screens. The beer selection on tap was about 20+ with a few new beers that I have not had before. As many new bars are doing, most of the beers were from craft breweries. The menu has some intriguiing items on the list... and with it being winter I started with the soup of the day followed by a bowl of the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was by far the best of the four items we ordered (i suggest you add bacon to it). The soup was a bit bland, but they bartender said it was made from scratch with no artificial or processed anything... some pepper seemed to do the trick. The french fries had a little bit to be desired and were not cooked enough. The flat bread of the day was ok. Overall The Odgen has a lot of potential and am sure I will be bumping my review up upon my next visit. I will be back for sure! It is nice to have some more bar options with above average bar food in the area.

The food, which we tried a variety of things on the menu, was excellent and inventive. The desserts were award winning. Recommend mussels, the red meat dishes (good quality) and desserts. A large beer list. Servers very helpful and staff in general attentive. The space is nice and airy feeling despite huge flatscreens everywhere and the lack of large windows. Seems very hard to find parking unless you valet, a down side, but that aspect I didn;t consider in the rating.

Wow, Love this place. Food is amazing. Our bartender Michelle was very nice and very helpful. Shawn was so friendly and so accommodating and he knew so much about the beers and wines. He made us feel very welcome. Fish tacos and mac and cheese were amazing! Will def be back and recommend!

the ogden is a gorgeous place. my husband and i met our friend paul before the peter gabriel concert. we dined and drank. they have a fantastic beer selection - tap, bottle or can. we also had some dinner. i liked my chicken parm sliders, quite tasty but i had a taste of my husbands burger which wasn't very good. i'd come back for drinks but not a meal.

Seriously how is anyone giving this place good reviews. I'll give them that they have delicious food but other than that I would never come back. I was really excited when this place opened up because I thought how great to have another close neighborhood bar, but eight months later the service is still atrocious and the ambience is terrible. I've been back here on several occasions trying to give it another shot but each time i am equally if not more disappointed than the time before. How does a Chicago sports bar run out of chicken wings before halftime of the Bears Packers game? They, as usual, we're not even that busy. The servers don't seem to know what they're doing, what the menu is or any other information that they should know as a server at the restaurant. Don't waste your time or money coming here -even though the food is good it's not worth it. They need some major revamping in their management before I'll step foot in here again... And I know I speak for several other friends.
