Cannot recommend The Montgomery Club enough!! My husband & I were married at The Montgomery Club this past New Year's Eve. Our entire experience start to finish with the Gibsons team has been phenomenal. From the planning process, there was nothing the team couldn't pull off for us. The professionalism, service, food, and atmosphere was far beyond anything we could have dreamed of. Our guests are STILL raving about the food & service they received at our Wedding. The attention to detail the team had was not overlooked--one of our guests was allergic to nuts that we had in our salad. Within seconds, the team had brought her a new one, no questions asked whatsoever. Not one glass of wine was left empty throughout dinner-our guests were MORE than pleased :) The atmosphere is classy and gorgeous. The room felt absolutely magical, and was perfect for our NYE wedding!! Doug & Britni are a dream to work with. Cannot recommend The Montgomery Club enough, and hope we are lucky enough to come back to attend as guests of a future event or wedding!!

I attended an industry event (drinks and appetizers) at The Montgomery Club this summer. Until reading other reviews, and going to the web site, I was not aware that this club is the private events venue of Gibson's Steakhouse - in fact, I had not even known about the existence of this venue until the cab pulled up to the entrance. The event space itself is par excellence- high ceilings, dark wood, and art deco mirrors surrounding the bar. All of the servers were phenomenal, and I give the people passing appetizers props, as it couldn't have been easy circulating with laden trays within this packed space. My favorites were the shrimp and the lamb with mint sauce. I also sampled a mini burger, and one of the pieces of flatbreads. The drinks were flowing and the bartenders were swift and professional. I am deducting a star as the restroom experience was slightly awkward. As mentioned in previous reviews (see Rockit) I am not accustomed to having an attendant at an event comprised of professionals and/or people who have paid for the privilege of attending. This particular attendant was playing a boom box, and seemed to miss that I didn't want to converse. I can see the need for an attendant at a club, when things can get rowdy and there is a motlier crew of attendees on any given night. Perhaps this is just my personal preference, but I think this at least bears mentioning.

We decided to have our wedding at The Montgomery Club this past September (2013). We knew that we wanted a venue that would work hard to make us happy, as well as make the guests happy - with amazing food. The Montgomery Club is owned by the Gibsons Restaurant Group, so that met our criteria. Everything went off perfectly - from the early-on coordination with Kasia, the day-of room set-up, the open bar, the waitstaff, barstaff, and even tear-down/pick-up the next door. My sister just celebrated her wedding at the Montgomery Club, and honestly, if there were a 10-star option, I would have selected it. As the MOH, I got to be part of the process throughout the way, and I can say with conviction that the team at MC is the best in town. Douglas made the whole process completely seamless for us and made the impossible look easy. My sister was very involved in every detail of the event, down to how bright the lights on the patio should be, and Douglas not only accommodated these requests in a professional and friendly way but was always thinking of the other little details that can be glossed over. He is truly incredible and deserves a raise! I unfortunately did not get to meet the rest of the team but my sister was completely happy with how everything was handled. As a guest, the space is remarkably beautiful - it feels very "Gatsby" (though the actual style is French art deco), the food is obviously incredible (you get to say you served Gibson's steaks!) and the entire experience is one you will never forget. I wish I could get married all over so I could go here!!!

Who knew that they took one of my favorite, now closed restaurants (Brassiere Ruhlman) and turned it into a wonderful banquet space! Yes- those crafty people who own Gibson's, have an unique event venue space called aptly so, the Montgomery Club- given it is in the lobby area of the old Montgomery Ward headquarters. I recently went to a private function here and I have to say, the space, food and drink are still amazing. The large bar with the etching above it still dominates the right had side of the space. The mosaic tile and dark woods define the dining space. And the staircase up to the well adorned bathrooms is still a place to pause and look over the entire room. If you are looking for a place to hold your wedding, corporate function or other type of large event, look no further than the Montgomery Club. You won't be disappointed!

First I like to say what a wonderful place to host any type of event. I was here for the Sweet Soiree auction event for Walter Payton College Prep high school. The hors d'oeuvres were literally out of this world!!! Everything from the steak skewers, crab cakes, salmon tar tar, and of course those mini burgers! Finishing the night was cupcakes, cookies, and brownies. Throw in some music and a staff that caters to your EVERY need and request. This my friends is the Montgomery Club. The best I saved for last. Thank you so much Christopher, Douglas, and some girl I don't remember that had blue eyes. Lol, you three really stood out and took charge in keeping the night running smoothly! That deserves an award in my book.

Not open to the public as a steakhouse but I wish it were! Or actually...I really wish it were an awesome lunch spot that also operated as a brewery after 4pm for me to have happy hour :) As an event venue it is very large and getting a taxi (or uber these days) is convenient

I was here for an event in November and I needed to get around to plugging this joint. First off this space is amazing and well kept. Can't believe that it isn't open all the time serving dinner. At any rate we had our corporate event here and it was perfect. the service was out of this world and the food was top notch. It was hard to believe that this was a Gibson's venue. It has a totally different feel than my Gibson's (Rush st.) experiences. All I can say is that if your searching for some some great catering form a reputable Chicago icon then look no further. I hope our next event is held at The Montgomery Club. I also heard that they are doing off site catering too. I will be calling them for my next event without thinking twice about it.
