They give away free hot dogs here after every cubs home game!

First time here on night of Cubs season opening home game. It was packed, as you can probably imagine, but a decent crowd. Not too rowdy, and pretty respectful group! Our server was smiley and attentive enough. I didn't eat, except for the bite of mac and cheese I tried from a friend's plate (it was A-OK), but those in our group who did thought the food was decent. One got wings and said they were alright. Another got a burger and said it was fine. One girl got a spicy chicken wrap...she said it wasn't spicy at all, but was surprisingly pretty tasty! The only complaint I have is the volume of the music. Good LORD was it loud! Volume control people, volume control.

This place just can't seem to make up it's mind! I have been coming here for over ten years, (and also owned three restaurants for eight years) and it was so awesome for the longest time. Then everything started getting all screwed up. Then it came back for a little while last season, but now this season it has been a complete disaster! Not sure what happened since last season, but this place is a wreck! No more popcorn, gross paper menus, tickets for hot dogs, and a ton of staff turnover. Figure it out guys! Get back to your roots!

Stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago and so glad we did. The staff was super friendly and made me and my boyfriend feel like it was our own regular bar. We ordered wings and they were actually up to par (everyone undercooks wings). These were perfect and CRISPY! They also have giant Jenga which was a lot of fun (especially after several beers)!!! Since then we have been back a few times and are always welcomed by the bartenders and staff. Glad we stumbled into this unsuspecting place. And seriously... People are complaining about a popcorn machine being gone?!?! Some people can't be pleased. They should stay at home and make Jiffy Pop or just maybe they should consider BUYING something off the menu. Besides, they already give away free hot dogs before and after home games.

I like to stop in here before heading to the metro... Food is pretty good, drinks are cheap and never seems to be too crowded..

New management equals great move. Cool bar, awesome service. Great place to watch the game or just hang out with friends. Spitting distance of Wrigley Field. A good stop if you're visiting Chicago, but want to feel like a local.

Been eating here for years as I work very close. Food used to be decent bar food with quick and friendly service. But not anymore.

I've been here a few times over the years and have never had a bad time. Unlike many other Wrigleyville bars the Full Shilling is relaxed and chill. They also consistently have excellent specials making it more affordable than many places to have a night out. I'd highly recommend coming in on Tuesdays for trivia or Fridays for karaoke. The specials on Tuesday are truly outrageous with a cheaper than cheap appetizer menu of food that is pretty darned good as well as $18 Dos Equis beer towers. The karaoke on Fridays is also a blast and a big win. I'm glad the Full Shilling is around the corner from my home!

Went in with a bunch of friends on a Thursday night. Not very crowded and there appeared to be two bartenders. Neither one of them asked if we needed anything and I sat at the nearly empty bar for around 10 minutes before I was able to call out to one of the people behind the bar. (I used to bar tend for years and hated when people did this) Desperate times called for desperate measures. The bar staff needs some serious training. I am sad to say I will probably not be returning to this place which I used to frequent (lived around the block for 4 years). I hope the new management group steps in and trains this staff. The other bars in their group are great. I worry about some of the 5 star comments because the menu hasn't really changed. Please get this place back on track. It was a neighborhood gem.

If you want cheap beer and a free hotdog before a Cubs game this is the place to go. Other than that, I'd say no. Music was waayyy to loud and bartending staff had bad attitude. Was really disappointed that there is no popcorn machine anymore.

My go to place before Cubs games. Who can beat reasonably priced beer and free hotdogs? The bartenders are really pleasant, something you don't often see in Wrigleyville. The bar has a ton of space and wraps around the building. Good atmosphere and classic bar feel. You can't go wrong here.

I absolutely love this bar! Karaoke on Fridays is a blast, drinks are cheap and the bartenders are awesome! There are usually tables if your group likes to have a "home base" and the dance floor is always packed!

I have a number of really annoying food restrictions (celiac disease, onion allergy, lactose intolerance, etc) that make it really hard to go out to eat. I thought this random bar in wrigley was gonna be a nightmare, but they made us the nicest plate of deconstructed bar food so my girlfriend and I could eat normal food (her) and annoying food (me) off the same plate. Thanks kitchen guys, i appreciate you!

I have been here twice. The first time was an okay experience. I had a salad that was mediocre. The waitress was attentive but to be expected since there was not that many people there. The second time was awful. I had the chicken sweet potato pie and I posted a picture for proof. This was probably the most expensive thing they have on the menu. Although it was very tasty, it was the smallest pot pie I have ever been served. It was more a bowl of soup than a pot pie and to be the most expensive thing on the menu was ridiculous. It was in a soup bowl with about eight slices of bread surrounding it. There are better bars to go to and eat than this one in the Wrigleyville area.

Came here on a friday night looking to get some drinks for cheap. They had free popcorn and $4 Irish Car Bombs. Pretty sweet deal. They also had a little karaoke going on so I joined in and it turned out to be a great night.

We stopped in while waiting for a show at the Metro to start. i pretty much stay out of Wrigleyville, but it seemed pretty laid back. We had a couple of PBRs and a ton of the self-serve popcorn.

Watched the AFC Championship game here a couple of weeks ago and loved it! I just think this is one of the best neighborhood pubs in the city. The staff and crowd are always friendly and interactive. There are always great features, on Saturday, we had $2 drafts. The food will never be considered fine dining, but that's not what neighborhood pubs are known for, they just have good people there with good food and drink at very fair prices. Soon to become a regular!

  • Gina G.

My boyfriend is a regular here. That is how I was introduced to The Full Shilling. Though I have to say for a Wrigleyville bar it is above the rest. The atmosphere is like "Cheers" everyone is friendly, knows your name and make sure you are satisfied. The food especially the wings, mac n cheese bits and tots are some of the best in the city. They always have specials during the week and weekends, wings are $.50 on Sundays, can't beat that!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Went to watch MSU play in the tourney, but they had the Blackhawks game on the big tvs but they market themselves as an MSU bar. Took forever (10 minutes) to get the waitress to come over to the table and then she greeted us with "Were you just sitting at that table?" Neither of the bartenders were friendly or provided prompt service - 8 minutes in a fairly empty bar to get a beer - and the sour waitress didn't crack a smile, say hello and simply appeared to be angry. The food is less than par and everything is served with a side of ranch dressing. However, that was left off of my plate, thankfully. It was painful to be in this place. A mistake I will not make again.

Proximity to Metro: Good. Bitchy bartender: Bad. Free popcorn: Amazing. Yep. It's a rarity, but from time to time I do find myself in the Wrigleyville area. It's not really socially acceptable these days for the 30+ crowd to be hanging out on Clark street, right? But if you're catching a show at Metro, or celebrating a W at Wrigley and you're so drunk you don't even care if you're out in a super lame neighborhood, Wrigelyville can happen. Places like Gingerman make things more tolerable. Surprisingly, so does Full Shilling. So while I enjoyed the $3.50 Jameson shot special and the free popcorn and the cool trivia guy on a Tuesday night, I didn't enjoy the bartender. Here's why. You know how at a lot of bars there's sometimes an old guy that sits at the bar by himself, sipping his drink, making conversation with the bartender and whomever might sit next to him? He's a regular. He's probably pretty lonely in life and retreats to the bar every day after work to feel a sense of community, have a cocktail or two and such. Well, I encountered just this type of guy at Full Shilling. And the lady bartender working could not have been a bigger bitch to him. She told him straight up: I don't have time for this. C'mon, lady. The guy is obvi a regular and he's kinda old and again, probably lonely. Throw him a bone. It's your JOB to be polite. This gal really rubbed me the wrong way. So anyway... good atmosphere, BAD lady bartender that works Tuesday nights.

This is my FAVORITE bar to go to during Cubs season!! I love the fact that I can get a free hot dog during and after the game!! Plus, it's not super crowded like the mainstream Wrigley bars, so I can get great service as well!!! Yay for the Full Shilling!!! I tell all my friends about this place and they love it as well!

Decent beer specials, plus some premium tunes pumping. I'd totally suggest for off-season bar-hopping in Wrigleyville.

whoa. this place was a major blur. came here after a cubs outing for work. great staff. lots and lots of drinking. there was a guy in a hotdog suit (see added photo). there was free popcorn. i'm not sure, but there may have been free hot dogs. or someone loves me and fed me one. oh, there were nachos! those were okay. they did go fast, though. oh! they had skinnygirl tangerine vodka! hello! LOVE THAT!

Five stars for free popcorn and hot dogs! Ended up here twice by default - once before a show at Metro and once when it started to rain and it was the closest decent looking bar to wait it out. Interesting, older clientele both times. This place is chill but bartenders can be slow. Last time I was there, the manager (I think that's who it was, he seemed official) greeted us, assured us the bartender would be with us shortly and encouraged us to help ourselves to free popcorn. Then he offered us free hot dogs. FREE HOT DOGS!!! This man knows the key to my heart. I think he said that they offer free hot dogs on game days but I was too busy running to the condiments area to drop some hyper green relish on my dog.

If you want a little elbow room at a bar while you get your Cubs pre-game on, THIS is the bar to go to! Totally laid back (okay...maybe a little TOO laid back at times as getting the attention of the bartender/waitstaff away from their phones was a little tricky at times) but it's a great place to chill, eat free popcorn, free hotdogs, enjoy drink specials (see photo) and actually hear what the person next to you is saying. Since I was merely a visitor, I can't vouch for other nights or post-game happenings but again, if you don't want to cram yourself into the bars across the street from Wrigley on game day and want to save a bit of cash for another beer (or Cubs souvenir) at the game, this is the place to go!

  • Candice G.

For me, the best thing going for this place was the location- right next to the Metro. I was in here with a group of friends that got wrangled by the sign for cheap wings- great for them but not for a non-meat eater. I got the soft pretzel and the tater tots. Both were very not great; in fact, the tater tots were the worst tots that I've ever had. I know what you're thinking- how badly can one f up tater tots? Well, my friend, pretty damn badly. The tots were hard as rocks and hollow on the inside. Like they had been fried several times, refrozen , and then fried again. I could have microwaved "oven only" tater tots and had them turn out better. The service was fine; our server was nice and attractive but that didn't change the food or the WAY overpriced beer.

As I'm sure is noted in other reviews, the Full Shilling is right next door to the Metro, which makes it convenient for staggered food runs while waiting for shows. My friends are I have nothing better to do with our lives, so when we arrived at 2pm for an 11pm Black Keys show, we knew there was going to be a food run. I had a bleu cheese burger, which was surprisingly good - I don't expect much out of bar food like this, but the burger was juicy without being greasy, crusted with good cajun spices, properly cooked with just a hint of pink, and coated in cheese and onion straws. Really very good. Plus - served with tots! Service is really nice too - they never question us when we come back in to use the bathroom. Granted, we always buy food, but they could still cop an attitude and toss us out. Big points for that. My complaint is that it's a bar. As a certified loser, I don't want to listen to the standard singalong bar songs (and the drunk idiots that sing along) and that was in full tilt on this particular afternoon. It's not going to change, obviously...because it's a bar...but I can still gripe about it pointlessly. Bar music aside, I have a feeling that the Full Shilling will remain on our pre-show agenda.

While there are many options around the Wrigleyville area to choose from, this is a place that can sometimes be overlooked. What I really like about this place is that up to an hour after Chicago Cubs games, they give out FREE Red Hots (hot dogs)!! I would guesstimate that at least 93.8% of people that attend Cubs games are intoxicated before the 7th inning of play. Most people end up picking up a local watering hole and staying there for the after party and possible even food. Why pay extra for food when you can have it fo free at the Full Shilling?!?! They even have there Hot Dog Mascot Guy walking around Wrigley Field passing out flyers to everyone so that they swing by after the game and yet, sometimes the place is only half full! I personally think that this is a good thing because if you've ever gone to some of the other local establishments, while very good, are too crowded. It's pretty difficult to get your order if you're not aggressive enough. On top of the free Red Hots, you also have unlimited free popcorn to munch on as well!! They have a full bar and tower beers for those who are still thirsty. Maybe I should be writing a bad review instead because I now fear that the word is out on this place and it will become just like every other place in Wrigleyville!! Either way, Check It Out!!! -Papa Bear

A small group of us popped into Full Shilling on a Friday night around midnight after deciding to check "Singing Karaoke" off my bucket list (I seem to be the only person in America who hasn't had enough cocktails to try it yet). There weren't a lot of people in there AT all, which was surprising as every other bar on that street seems to always be packed with 20 somethings. Although that could very well have been due to the few inches of snow we accumulated that night. All things considered, it's a decent little pub that serves yummy popcorn, and is filled with sweet sounds of intoxicated men belting out their best Corey Hart tunes. Now I will say that their sweet tea vodka drink was delish, but unfortunately it didn't do the trick to knock singing off my list. Maybe next time...

This bar is one of a select few that are beginning to restore my faith in Wrigleyville bars. Don't get me wrong...I would never come here on a game day. But any other time, I would be happy to return. I was craving a cheeseburger and my friend was craving bloody mary's, and it just so happens that these are both on special on Sundays. So are the wings, so we got some of them as well. The drinks were good. The burger was good (and cooked properly! Why is every restaurant in Chicago unable to cook burgers to the specified temp?!?) The wings and the tots that came with the burger were not good. We didn't finish either of those and that is saying something because I love tator tots like Tom Cruise loves David Beckham's underwear photos. The wings were really cheap, low quality stringy sad wings. And the tots were totally overcooked. I know you get what you pay for, but I have had much better and equally cheap wings and tots around town, The highlight of our visit was the excellent service by Brian the bartender. Even though we were sitting at a table and he was the only one working, he did a great job of keeping our drinks full and getting our food orders in, while still taking care of the rest of the bar. Usually, when I go to a bar and I realize the bartender is the only one working, I will sit at the bar. Otherwise it is pretty much guaranteed you are going to get shitty, slow service. But it was such a beautiful day on Sunday and the window tables looked so inviting. Thankfully, service was awesome. I just wish the food was half as good. We did give our leftover wings to a homeless fellow that walked by and asked for them and he came back 5 minutes later to say they were the best wings he ever had and God-blessed us...so I guess taste is subjective. And at $28 for a dozen wings, a cheeseburger with tots and six drinks, I should not be complaining. *Check their website for daily specials. There are some good ones. **Check the Cubs schedule. If there is a home game, then DON'T GO (unless you really like the Cubs and/or free hot dogs).

I'm becoming that old person who's not really old, but acts like they are. Ya dig? Case in point, when I want to hang out with my friends I no longer want to go to a crowded bar in LV or LP, rub up against other youngsters and strain to hear any conversation. I want to sit at a table and drink a beer while having conversations at a reasonable tone of voice. NOW GET OFF MY LAWN. The Full Shilling is great on a Friday night because it allows you to do just that- get a table without issue, order up a novelty sized "table topper" beer and just hang out. No pressure to do anything but that. Nothing groundbreaking, but a good neighborhood spot.

We went a couple of times for the quiz night. Overall, a pretty fun game but it ran kind of slow. Typical bar fare and standard beer selections. On the quiz night (I can't remember if it's Tuesday or Thursday), they have half price appetizers, which is excellent. The tater tots (which are delicious) are only $.75 for a basket! You really can't beat that. The table tappers on this same night are also a great deal - best bang for your buck. Definitely a place to avoid on game days, which is standard for any bar in Wrigleyville. Prices shoot way beyond normal ($6 for 24 ounces of Bud? That's not even right) and there's ass holes everywhere. Overall, a fun bar to go with friends on a weeknight. NTN Trivia is always on and the food is pretty decent. On non-game nights, there's always a $2 selection of something.

I was pleasantly surprised by this neighborhood gem. Super fun atmosphere, and the servers here are all very friendly and down to earth, unlike some of the other bars in the area (think sports corner & murphy's) where the service is terrible & the staff is rude. At full shilling this was not the case! I went on a Sunday to watch our NFL game, they had awesome specials which included $2 beers and 30 cent wings, also $3 burgers... not to mention the burgers & wings were actually reallly really good. I would recommend the garlic parmesan, the bourbon or the sweet chili wings. In my opinion they tasted better than b-dubs wings. also, FREE POPCORN! and on Cubs game days, 1 hour before the game starts and 1 hour after the end of the game, they have FREE HOT DOGS The drinks here are nice & strong, and the atmosphere is super friendly. I am from Michigan and I felt right at home with all of the Spartan decor, however it is mostly a Chicago sports bar. I noticed on their menu that every day of the week they have pretty good specials, although I don't remember them off the top of my head. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting the Wrigleyville neighborhood to check it out & grab a drink & a bite to eat for a good price

Get your hotdogs....Get your hotdogs.... Yeah, normally, you would just walk past, right? but if you hear or see, "free" hotdogs, you'd jump on it, right? Well, Full Schilling gives you free hot dogs an hour before and an hour after the game. And they are soooo good. And they have a little hot dog toppings bar, which I love. You have to buy a drink to get a dog, but if you are going to the game, arent you ready to slurp on some beers anyhow? For sure. I've been here a handful of times and I am a superfan. We were there the night of a rain delay for my dad's birthday and we had the sweetest server ever. She was on top of her game and had the greatest personality for a server, especially in Wrigleyville, where most of the servers are snotty and slow. She was great. :) They have huge cans of beers for 7 bucks. Nice touch. We tried the wonton mozzarella sticks and they are pretty great. Some of the other drinks are pretty expensive, but I mean, you pay for the area, I guess.

I hate crowds. I especially hate drunk crowds of people 5 years younger than me making a good case study on evolution in reverse. So about 3 years ago, I started going to The Full Shilling, where there was a distinct lack of both. It was amazing. I went every week for about a year. But then, to my dismay, they got rid of their best bartender, their best servers, and started hiring girls who are sub-standard waitresses/servers. They changed the menu and the new plates I tried were boring/tasteless/overdone. I was very disappointed, and stopped going altogether. In an effort to give it one last chance (an homage to 1 great year), I took out-of-town friends there a few months ago, thinking that it hadn't changed THAT much and that maybe this time would be better. I ended up having to eat my words, and don't plan on ever going back.

Waiting in line at the Metro can be a tiring experience. Solution? Tots. Around 6:00pm on a Saturday afternoon I stopped in to satisfy my tot hankering. I ordered a burger that came with two cheeses, forgive me I can't recall the catchy burger name. It was a nice side dish to a hearty helping of crispy, fatty, delicious tots. I also enjoyed the Guinness on draft. I believe a Cubs game had ended multiple hours earlier so there were a few hangers-on, hanging on. Sweet Caroline coming from the speakers, and the crowd, was loud, but I guess that's to be expected. Thank you Full Shilling for providing some quality tot de-hankering. I shall return.

The scenario: Californian visiting Chicago with no channel in my hotel room showing the Cal game I wanted to catch. The solution: Full Shilling! Yeah, I was visiting a new city. Yeah, I could've been running around checking out good things for my tummy. But hey, it was time for beer so I might as well got my beer on with a good ol' cal game. The bartender was friendly and I certainly felt welcomed rooting for my team away from home. Yay for the Cal Alumni group of Chicago and yay for full shilling (whose owner I heard is also a Cal grad!) A beautiful partnership combined to give you regular Cal games hundreds of miles away from the bay. I was able to check out wrigleyville and see my bears win. Service was good and it was nice to see fellow cal bears with my new city goggles on. :) go bears!

I would state first and foremost that the bartender service I received was first rate, which is what the three stars are for. The food rates a single star if that. Completely uninspiring, yeah I know it's pub food, but dammit, you should care, no matter what. The quessadillas didn't even look like they hit any kind of heat source, they were pale and not the toasty deliciousness that I have come to to expect from a quality quesadilla. The potato skins were also a disappointment, again, no toasty/crispy deliciousness. I would be willing to go back to try the burgers, but for sure come back for the great drink specials.

Great place to Go after a Cubs Game! Come in and Get some Free Popcorn, a Free Hot Dog and Hang Out with the Beer Vendors after a Game. Also if your a Michigan University Fan this IS the place to be! REAL Chicago Guys own this place, they may be Michigan Alum but They are TRUE Chicago Sports Fans otherwise.

This is one of the few bars in Wrigleyville that I can handle going to during baseball season. There are the usual amounts of obnoxious drunks, but for some reason, the Shilling is able to make it bearable. They have good drink specials, including tall cans and table tappers. Service is usually good, and they have decent bar food. Also, when I was still a smoker, I really appreciated their little back door outside smoking area - it has a space heater so you don't freeze to death in the winter.

After a good concert we made our way to this place that stood out because they had $2 bud lights. Hell yeah... We were kind of hungry so we ordered some wings and yes yes yes " the best mac n cheese" I've had (my opinion okay). It was orgasmic. Everyone was digging out of my plate and I had to cover it, they were like hounds on a bone. The wings were tasty and crispy, and cheap at that. The scenario was like your typical Wrigley bars, big screens, tables etc. The bartender was really cool, too bad I can't remember his name due to the Bud Lights and the Heinekens @ Metro... oh boy... I will definitely go back and have some more fun at this decent bar.

Dropped by here on a Saturday evening between 7-8pm. A cubs game had just let out as well and our intentions was to scope out the place and grab a bite to eat. The place was pretty good. Nominal pricing and great deals. They offer 24oz domestics for like 4-5 bucks on Saturdays. Only when the Cubs are out of town though (don't blame em). They also have this giant beer tube they can install on your table. A type of mobile tapp. Pretty awesome option if you have a big party of beer drinkers. The atmosphere was quite nice. Good music (The Beatles are definitely a unique and satisfying choice), low key and not crowded at all. Mind you this was in the early PM, but directly following a Cubs game. It seemed to us that there was but one server for our area who also doubled as the bartender. No worries though, he filled us up and checked on us plenty and was quite the multitasker. The burgers were tasty - as general bar food goes - and very affordable. Go for the traditional Shilling burger, its a great eat. The table we sat at upon coming in was overly sticky though, as if the busboy decided to neglect wiping it down and merely cleared and disappeared. Oh well, nothing a piece of ice and a napkin can't fix. I'd definitely go back. I look forward to seeing the place with a group of good friends for a night out. Not to many places I could see myself at in the after hours. But being less crowded and more low key, raises my eyebrow of interest greatly compared to the rest of the bars in the area.

Stopped in here after a long (and hungover) day of holiday shopping. My sister lives across the street and in our worn out state, proximity was key. I typically avoid Wrigley at all costs but luckily, we were here at such an odd time (5pm on a Saturday) that we were the only two in the joint. The bartender was nice and food was speedy. I was debating between the turkey burger and Sharon's wrap but the bartender steered me to the wrap. Lesson learned...he likely suggested the easiest thing to make seeing as the only person he had to talk to (besides us) was the cook. It wasn't terrible, just kind of tasteless. Two redeeming qualities on the wrap: (1) they let me add chicken and didn't charge me and (2) it comes with tots..nuff said. I'd come back here for the affordable drinks and decent food. Though next time I'm going with the turkey burger.

Had dinner last night here and it was great. Had the chicken quesadillas; granted not like in a Mexican restaurant but variety is the spice of life. They were delicious and filling for sure! Boyfriend had a burger and he said it was one of the best he's ever had. He had the one with pepper jack cheese on it. It was so good, he never even got around to put ketchup on it. The tots were good too. My other friend had the grilled ham and cheese and his comment was that there was almost too much ham on it....is that possible? He enjoyed his sandwich as well as his tots. Great service from a very nice bartender. Cold draft beer that tasted great. Looking forward to an opportunity to go there again.

This is my go to place for drinks before a show at Metro. Yes, I am sure you are thinking I should go to Gingerman instead, but hear me out. The FS is never super busy right before a Metro show. That's probably because it isn't a "cool" bar, but really, not many places in Wrigley are cool anyway. So what? They have free popcorn, good beer (Green Line) for cheap and friendly bartenders. Oh yeah, they let one of the other customers plug in his ipod to play The Damned (as we waited to see them next door). Hey Gingerman, I like ya, but Full Shilling gets my pre Metro beers vote.

This is one of my favorite bars in the neighborhood! Its rarely crowded, except during baseball season. The food and drinks are cheap, tastey and consistant. I wish they had $1 burgers and 25 cent wings all the time, but its only during football season. =/ There is free popcorn too so you have something to munch on if you're not super hungry. :) This is the one bar in the area that my bf and I frequent. Oh and one more thing: its not really a place to pick up chicks! Some of my guy friends have been disappointed. lol

This place gets 3 stars merely because they are adjacent to the Metro and have good drink specials on weeknights. I stopped in before a Lawrence Arms show and they had 2 dollar bottles. I could tell that the bartender wasn't used to having a bunch of guys come in with punk t-shirts on. Other than that it is just another shot and beer place in Lakeview, lots of plasmas, the obligatory satellite jukebox crammed with Journey and AC/DC. I guess I just can't figure out how someone would make this "their bar." Do you really like the neon signs? Or the fact that they have Old Style bottles? Bottom line...use this place to work up a good buzz so you don't have to spring for 10 dollar beers at the Metro.

I was crazy enough to live right across the street. No matter how busy the Cubs streets where, we would always end up at good old Full Shilling. Not to many crazies ( John barley) Oh I miss the 383 parking.

Friendly enough bartenders, but that's not enough to make the bloody mary's any better. I would never order one of these here again, especially on game day. Served in a plastic cup without any seasoning was pretty much unacceptable. However, the bartender did give us the obligatory free hot dog, but we didn't stick around long enough to eat it..

Nothing beats a Cubs game at Wrigley Field, but a visit to the Wrigley bars before and after the cubs game leave much to be desired for me these days. Long lines and pushy drunks? No thank you! That being said The Full Shilling isn't quite as bad as the others in this area. We were attempting to go to Casey Moran's, but the line was about an hour long (insanity!) so we headed over to The Full Shilling, which I didn't even know existed. It was a bit crowded for my taste, but the free hot dogs (they give them away after every Cubs home game), cheap beer, and fabulously cheesy music made up for being pushed around. And I even scored a seat at the bar, which is unheard of after any cubs game!

I was here yesterday............we were pretty drunk! But we saw the sign from far away! free hot dogs!!!! Free hot dogs!!! needless to say we stopped in for a couple of 24 oz's and our free hot dogs. This is your typical Wrigleyville drunkfest of a place......awesome! the free hot dogs is a nice perk! Shake & bake seal of approval!

A few $2 beers... a few $3 cocktails... a couple $3 cheeseburgers with fries, and a 25 cent side of ranch dressing. Sounds like a pretty cheap, but fun night at a local bar, right? WRONG. At the end of the night, I ask for our tab. $25 and some change. I give her my debit card, and wait for the receipt to tip, and sign. She returns with a receipt showing an $85 TOTAL! I immediately point out the error, and our incompetent waitress realizes that she ran my card for the tab being held at the table behind me!! Are you kidding?? Its not like our orders were even remotely similar! So now, the $85 dollar charge has to be reversed, AND I have to pay for my original $25 tab. I receive a receipt showing the refunded $85, and pay the correct tab. So with all things included, I managed to spend $110 on 2 dollar beer night at the Full (of shit) Shilling. This happened 2 days ago, and I have yet to see any evidence of that $85 being returned to my checking account. I called them, and they say its out of their hands, and up to my bank. I go to my bank, and they say it could take up to 2 weeks. The bottom line is, if our idiot server didn't make the mistake in the first place, I wouldn't have to worry about it. But now I'm the one stuck doing the running around, making sure it's completed properly. If you MUST go here, do yourself a favor and pay with cash (assuming these imbeciles actually know how to add, and subtract proper change). Otherwise, there are plenty other dive bars in the area to choose from. And..... the burgers sucked. We WILL NOT be back, and I will spread the word.

Still the best non douchy bar in Wrigleyville. Tons of tv's, but none of the cheesy fraternity atmosphere. Decent specials too.

I've been avoiding this review for a while and I'm not sure why. I guess it's just because I wasn't impressed with it and there's not much to say. The beer was overpriced. The crowd was obnoxious (I was here on Halloween which was cool seeing everyone dressed up being jolly though). The bartender dissapeared for a long time when we were waiting for another round... Parking was shitty, but expected for the location. The mixed drinks were actually mixed pretty well which was a plus. But overall, I wouldn't go back. In fact if friends of mine wanted to meet up here, I'd probably suggest another spot if I could convince them. It's just not the bar for me. Maybe a sportier crowd would enjoy it after a game downtown.

  • matty z.

What's to review? When it comes down to it, Full Shilling is a good bar, but it's just like every other bar on Clark in that stretch. So, been to one, been to 'em all, I suppose. But, the servers were very friendly. And the towers of beer are funny. Wheeeeeee.

Hello, my name is Amanda, and I have been brought up to love football, and all things football-related, especially the Chicago Bears, and I think I might have a problem. (Hi Amanda.) Well, not really. But I do enjoy the game since my dad took the time to explain the rules to me years ago. And the Full Shilling is an excellent place to take in the Bears on a Sunday afternoon. Sundays: $3 cheeseburgers with fries (or tots, yum!), $.25 wings, and $2 drafts...my idea of good football-watchin' eats. They're friendly to the regulars, quick with the drinks, and when the Bears are doing great, the atmosphere is super fun (playing "Bear Down" everytime the Bears score a TD). Not sure how often I'd be here without football Sundays, but this tight end will continue to abuse her football problem so long as there is cheap beer and burgers... (I know, the tight end comment was a little lame, but I had to do it!)

Do not try to go for $1 drink specials at this place and expect the waitress to tell you if you order a non "house drink." I specifically asked our waitress what counted as a $1 house drink and she said - "well, you know, house drinks. Bottom shelf." Ok, I ordered cranberry and vodka. No problem, it was $1. Too bad she didn't bother telling my friends that the drinks they ordered didn't count as "house drinks"-they were $5!!!! A $4 surprise right after we were asking about what counted as $1 drinks! AND she only told us the drinks my friends ordered were NOT $1 drinks when I asked to get what they were having after their first round! Pretty much all of our mouths dropped to the floor. Really crappy considering the drinks were all the same size and we ASKED!!! PS: Their fried twinkie is not very good at all and the $1 were really watered down after having sat on the counter while the ice melted prior to them getting served to us.

  • Brett G.

Decent place to grab a drink pre/post Cubs, although there are far better options. This place is usually packed wall-to-wall, with the typical mix of obnoxious fans and people from out of town who didn't really know what they were in for in "Wrigleyville" and have that deer-in-headlights look. Their "Big Ass Cans of Beer," 24 ounces of delicious Miller Lite or comparable American beer, for like $6 really is hard to beat, although you tend to drink it faster than usual so they don't lose their chill. Free hot dogs before and after the game (for an hour) are a nice, (but not very classy) touch. You don't come to Wrigleyville for class though, do you?

Went there with a bunch of friends to watch the game on Wednesday night.Their prices are high and not only that the wait staff was terrible and actually rude. They also charged my friends credit card twice!

After a horrible experience at the "new" burger joint on the corner, came in here with by bud to watch the Bears game and grabbed seats at the bar. Our tender, Stephanie, Jennifer?? I think (sorry if wrong), was friendly and attentive right away and despite being very busy gave great service the entire time . Buckets of beer and burger specials for the game were awesome! Great joint and a great crowd, will definately be back for another game!

  • Clara F.

Is it Grand River? Mystic Celt? Casey Moran's?? Who the hell cares, this place is just like all those other Sheridan/Lakeview bars: typical. Old college buddies hang out in packs, girls are semi-overdressed for how casual the actual bar is, people go there for Sunday brunch to talk about how drunk they got all weekend... Nothing special, nothing terrible. Meh.

  • Justin W.

This is a decent bar, I can't say anything really jumps out at you as being great, but for this area it's got the advantage of less dirtbaggery. Depending on the concert going next door at the Metro you could have any kind of potpourri of clientele which is kind of cool. There are decent beer specials and the servers are nice which is a surprise for Wrigleyville most times. I have never eaten here so I have no comment for that but I assume its as good as the fryer.

    (3)
  • Jon B.

Good if you like board games, trivia, and everything that a Wrigleyville bar usually isn't. It feels less like a frat bar than other Wrigley bars, and (thank goodness) there's no dance floor. As a PSA, I'll say this: Bars with dance floors need to be burned down. Go to a club if you want to dance. I go to a bar to have a drink, talk with friends, and maybe even meet some random people. I can do that at the Shilling, which makes it A-OK in my book.

  • Chris P.

My first experience with The Full Shilling was during Game 7 of the 2003 NLCS. My friend and I were looking for a bar to watch the potential pennant clincher. We tried the usual unimaginative haunts nearest to the ballpark: Cubby Bear, too full; the since-shuttered Hi Tops (good riddance), charging cover; Murphy's Bleachers, no fuckin' way. So onward we walked until we stumbled upon the Shilling. That night ended up being one of the greatest times I've had in a bar (obviously excluding the outcome of the game) and a spectacularly bittersweet way to end the baseball season. When Kerry Wood took one to the seats, I jumped into the arms of strangers and we embraced in ways that heterosexual men never should, gleefully hugging and jumping around in circles as if we had won the lottery. We ate (outstanding cheeseburgers) and we drank (a lot) and we sang ("When the Cubs Win the Pennant") during commercial breaks. A+ atmosphere. It's been a fine love affair since that day, due in no small part to the fond memories of watching Cubs games there throughout the years. When the Cubs aren't playing at Wrigley, the Full Shilling offers cheap drink specials and good food. When the Cubs ARE home, the bar still offers drinks at lower prices than most of its neighbors. It's $3.50 for an Old Style tall boy (16 oz.) and I think $6 for a "Big Ass Can of Beer" (24 oz.). Oh, and the Shilling offers a free hot dog an hour before and after ballgames. I've always been able to feast since I linger long enough where they unload the extras on anyone who wants to eat them. And I always 'wants' to fucking eat them. Friday nights are karaoke night, and while I don't usually like when bars reserve one of the nights of the weekend to amateur hour, the Shilling is the only place where I've actually ever stood up to sing (led the crowd in a raucous rendition of "Go Cubs Go"). Virgins to the Full Shilling aren't often enthused about going there versus a more well-known bar in Wrigleyville, but almost everyone I've gone with has enjoyed it. What more do you want?

    (4)
  • Billy E.

Good food, drinks for every budget, and a great locale between 2 of my favorite Chicago locations: Wrigley Field and the Metro. Go for the specials and btw they have KARAOKE! That seals the deal for me.

    (4)
  • Brad H.

I enjoy watching NFL games here on Sundays. $2 Miller Lite drafts, $2 burgers and fries/tots, and 35 cent wings keep things cheap. Service is consistently good, and they'll typically put on any game you ask for on one TV or another. Bears games bring in a lively crowd, and you get to sing along with "Bear Down, Chicago Bears" each time Da Bears score a touchdown. Good times.

    (3)
  • liz d.

This isn't your typical Wrigleyville bar. It is easy to get a drink and not packed to the gills. Friday karaoke nights are entertaining to say the least. Aside from the cheap burger/beer specials, this place is perfect to watch the Sunday-Funday Bears games. The manager blasts "Bear Down Chicago Bears" song at every TD and games are playing based on the score of the game.

  • Megan O.

People are treating this place like it's the red-headed step child. Not anything special, huh? Maybe you'll take that back after you see the abundance of food and drink specials they offer every day of the week. Lots of places don't even offer weekend specials but at Shilling on Saturdays, there's 25 cent wings and dollar burgers. Awesome! Especially if you're hung over from Friday and craving that tastey, delicious burger! Plus they have tater tots here...mmmmm! People shouldn't knock this bar. Unlike the other Wrigleyville bars, you'll never find a line and Shilling is always a prime choice when deciding where to watch a game. Anywhere you are in this bar, and I mean anywhere, you'll be able to see a flat screen plasma tv. Plus they have darts and table tappers...what's better than that combo when you're chilling with some buddies...NOTE: Table Tappers are $5 cheaper on Tuesday!!! Guys, give this freakin' bar a chance. Trust me, you'll go back for seconds...probably even thirds.

Extremely friendly, attentive staff (who spots you a cigarette for free these days?) and cheap drinks. Loved it.

This bar has really good specials and that is the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars. My frugality wins out in this case because if I were grading on service the score would deteriorate. There are 2 seperate rooms with two seperate, but adjoining bars and a friend and I met a group of people in the second bar. The room was just as crowded as the first room, except our bartender was never around. She was always in the first room. At the beginning of the night we all had to go to bar 1 to et drinks, which wouldn't be the end of the world seeing as it's a whole 10 steps away, but when I get to the bar both me and the bars own f'n waitress are standing waiting to drag the bartender's attention away from his intense conversation with the pople at the other end. She was jumping up and down to try to get his attention and I was just getting tired of standing there. I got beer so the story ends happily and to be fair the service picked up and got better as the night went on, but I can say this bar would have gotten 4 or 5 stars if I thought the service was even mediocre. I will probably go again and try it out since it's a short bus/cab ride from me and I have plenty of friends who troll around the wrigley field bars.

Full Shilling is far and away my favorite Wrigleyville bar. You get all the good parts of a sports bar (cheap beer, great bar food, and plasma flat screens) without having to wait in line or spend a fortune. The food and drink deals are incredible every night of the week. Every time I get the bill I'm shocked at how cheap it is. They have $1 burgers and 25 cent wings every weekend, and everything else I've tried on the menu has been great. Go a little early before a big game to get a table, and you're almost guaranteed to have a sweet waitress taking care of you the entire time. If you get hungry waiting for your food, there's an old-fashioned popcorn machine that you can help yourself from. And on Fridays there's KARAOKE!!!!! What a blast. I'm not a big sports bar girl but this place always makes both me and the die-hard sports fans I'm with happy. Full Shilling, when I move out of Wrigleyville I'll miss you!!

    (5)
  • Brad K.

Have been a couple of times now and wholly unimpressed. Lousy service but the odd experience we had both times...the prices on the menus were different (less) than what we were charged. Really didn't think about it the first time around, but when we asked on the return trip, we were told they were limited time specials. Never mind the fact the prices were printed and laminated on the main menu! Huh?? Any rate, we actually asked the manager about it and she proceeded to treat us like we we're con artists, handed us the check and indicated we were no longer welcome. Allrighty then! No problem. Hey crummy service happens but these people are clearly full of themselves over there, from mgmt on down. I live in the neighborhood and am a regular visitor to all of the local watering holes. But, I tell my friends and anyone else that will listen, Full Schilling should be your LAST choice of any Wrigley-area establishment.

    (1)
  • Jon G.

They should have never closed Fuel. Did we really need another Irish Sports Bar on Clark St near Wrigley? That said, for bar food, its good. But I probably wouldnt come here if they didnt have great drink and food specials. Its a nice pre and post game spot if you have a Metro show.

    (3)
  • Derek J.

The Full Shilling is a great place to go if you are looking for cheap food to pair with your drinking habit. Every night there is a different special for both food and drink, and the Fried Twinkie for dessert is worth ordering. Friday nights are for karaoke, and in general it is a low pressure environment. You still get the rock stars coming out, but if you're off-key, they don't boo you from the stage. I have noticed that their food quality has gone down recently, but overall, it's still worth checking out.

    (3)
  • Jim O.

I've never really been here on the weekends, but during the week (non-cubs games) this bar is actually has a great neighborhood feel to it (Free popcorn). Live trivia (Quizzo) is hosted by the National Trivia Association is every Tuesday at 8pm and has a pretty regular following of teams. They also have an assortment of beer and food specials on Tuesdays. Again during a cubs game or on the weekend this place kinda turns into every other bar in Wrigleyville. But during the off season and non-cubs games this is actually a great place to throw a few back and hang out with friends.

    (4)
  • John B.

i always go here before shows at Metro. it's never too packed or loud and there's always a reasonable drink special. last time i was here, a guy that looked just like Kenny Rogers face-planted walking out of the bar (at 6pm!). i had to wait for about 5 minutes for him to get up and get out of the way of the entrance so i could get in. yeah, i should have helped him, but he looked like he smelled bad. and he was wasted. the staff was laughing at him. i think they have free chicken wings sometimes. this is a decent place to kill an hour at.

    (3)
  • Steve O.

The deals here are solid. Every weekday has something available worth the visit. Food is pretty good. Service couldn't care less of your arrival, so don't expect high fives. Crowd is typical wrigleyville sluts and schmoes, but since this place is much less crowded than others, you tend to get the more tolerable. Not much to offer other than location and reasonable prices, as well as perhaps decent food.

Excuse my language, but fuck this fucking place. After a Saturday night of bouncing all over town, we decided to cap our night with a few friends at the Full Shilling. Two of my friends had arrived approximately 20 minutes before my boyfriend and I, and were sitting at the bar with drinks when we showed up a few minutes after two. Given the lateness of our arrival, we hadn't planned on staying for more than one drink before calling it a night. One thing that stuck out immediately was that (other than our group and another table) the bar was completely empty, and the air conditioning was on full blast. It was a beautiful night outside (about 72) but the interior temperature lingered in the upper 50's. Other then the cold, there wasn't anything wrong with this experience until I realized that the coldness was likely brought on by the frigid bitch of a manager that decided to rear her nasty head 10 minutes after we had been served. For the record, I was sober (my first drink at Full Shilling was only my second of the night) but the other three people with me were drunk. As I talked with one friend, my roommate and boyfriend got a bit loud as they began a debate over a ridiculous subject that has been ongoing for months. After hearing the subject matter (superhero powers), two bouncers that had finished working decided to weigh in and it became a four way debate that was admittedly a little loud. Keep in mind that the bouncers were 50% of the foursome. The manager had been lingering for a few minutes so she saw that while loud, the situation was harmless and that her own staff members were engaged. Despite the fact, about 3 minutes after this began, she came over and yelled at us to put our drinks down and leave immediately because they were closing. At this point, we were less than halfway through our drinks that had just been served, and it wasn't even 2:20. I stepped in and told the manager that we were finishing our drinks and leaving and I urged my boyfriend to drink his drink a little faster. I figured that she would ease up a bit once she realized that one person was sober enough to herd the group out. I gave her entirely too much credit. She stood directly in front of my boyfriend watching him drink (I had given up finishing mine) and when he asked the bouncer a question benign to this situation she screamed at him that he was not to answer. Ignoring her ignorance, my boyfriend took a sip of his beer and just stared back at her. She yelled at him to keep drinking, and when he paused she barked at him to chug. By now, I was livid, and I told her that she was being rude. For this, she declared that my boyfriend was "done" and reached to take his beer. As a reflex, he pulled it out of reach (she was about 5'3 and he is 6'5) and watching her lunge at him sent me off the deep end. The only reason we left that bar before my boyfriend finished his beer is because if we had stayed longer this review would have included a girl fight. I've worked in enough bars to know that drunks are annoying when you are trying to close. However, there is absolutely NO reason to exhibit the level of hostility when a party is still finishing their drinks per your request 30 seconds prior. I'm not sure what caused this particular manager to get so much sand in her vagina, but she managed to change someone that spoke highly of The Full Shilling (in the previous review and in Yelp Talk) into someone that will never spend another dollar there. Good job lady - Now you're on the banned list.

  • Jason Z.

It's ok. Nothing special. We come here a lot because it's close to our place, and never really crowded. The only time it's ever hard to get a table is Thursday night, when the special was $1 burgers, $1 drafts. They just double the prices on those now. On Friday there is Karaoke, so if you're not a fan, stay away. Otherwise, there's usually a crowd, but rarely crowded. I agree w/ the other reviewer, when they call last call, they usher you out very quickly.

    (2)
  • Colleen S.

They got rid of the jeans seats covers. Those amused me. Now nothing I sit on in this place amuses me anymore. Minus one point. Table toppers are an ecomnomical to drink with many people or just one other alcoholic. Kareeokee (I can't spell) is terrible and the DJ that hosts it is even worse. Minus another point. Great Cubs and Chicago stuff on the walls, other than that, just a regular "irish" bar. The girls' bathroom's really cold. Go figure.

    (3)
  • Samantha M.

Food is pretty good, drink prices are VERY good but most of all, THE OWNERS ARE FANTASTIC AND SUPER NICE PEOPLE! They came and spoke with us and were very friendly and made us feel at home. definitely give 'em a try.

Another fake Irish bar in Chicago. Great. This place only makes out with two stars because they had the Sox game on a couple of the tvs. The beer was cold, but the service was colder. Seriously, at least feign a smile for you tip.

    (2)
  • Beavis M.

Corporate-owned but still fairly personable. The people there have always been nice, but I keep hearing that they're not all that cool to the "rocker" crowd from the Metro shows. Being in Wrigleyville, it goes without saying that their bread and butter is the neighborhood fratboys and trixies. They do have some good deals, but they got rid of some of the bargains too. Bring back the steak special!

Thursday. $1 Domestic drafts, $1 burgers. Enough said.

    (4)
  • Erin C.

There is something endearing about this bar. I've come here a few times in the past few weeks and it's not a bad spot. Cheap drinks, good tunes on the jukebox. Not a bad alternative to the other bars in this area.

Stopped in on a Sunday night 2 buck Miller Light Drafts and free popcorn . Where else are you going to find that in Wrigleyville ?? THen we met friends there opening day @ Wrigley. Of course the place was packed and they had 24 oz cans for 7 bucks . Will be sure to stop back at this location . The Full Shilling does offer more than most locations near the ball park .

    (3)
  • Matt M.

Stereotypical wannabe Irish bar, but on Saturdays they have $3 domestic drafts in personal pitchers and free (stale) popcorn. If the crowd is sparse, as it has been on the few occasions I've been there, it's tolerable, though I fear what it'd be like before or after a Cubs game. It's not a fantastic place to go, but it'll do sometimes.

    (2)
  • Becki L.

My friends and I used to be regulars at the Shilling. We became friends with the staff and it was truley a 'Cheers' atmosphere. I also must say that their off-season specials are AMAZING. 1/2 off sandwiches and $1 well drinks? Count me in! Once the Cubs started playing again the service started going down hill, the staff all turned over and the entire menu changed. No more good specials. Not to mention they raised all the prices. I've become very disapointed. I'll give it a shot again once Cubs season ends but it's scratched off my list until then.

    (3)
  • K O.

It's a fun place, I love that they have games and karaoke, but I can no longer trust their business practices. I ordered a table tapper of a "better" beer (Blue Moon), and found that they watered it down with cheaper stuff. I was with a large group, and we all drink Blue Moon regularly...this was our first drink of the night so our taste buds were all fully operational, and we all agreed that the Blue Moon we ordered had been massively watered down...

    (2)
  • Tony G.

This used to be the best deal in the neighborhood. I think they figured this out and cut their food menu while raising the prices. You still get free popcorn, decent beer specials and free hot dogs on game days, but it's no longer worth a trip to Wrigleyville just to go to Full Shilling

    (3)
  • Kathleen C.

Liked it better when it was "Fuel"...annoying crowd, and bland decor. The tater tots and grilled cheese aren't bad though, if you're not too embarassed to order Tater Tots in a restaurant.

    (2)
  • Kitty H.

This place is kind of boring, but they do have trivia and some nice flat-screen TVs. We went on Saturday night, and got mini-pitchers of Miller Lite, the gods' nectar, for just three bucks. The also serve up a mean turkey burger, and some fabulous tater tots. Next time I go to this place, I'll just order the tots and bring a book. You probably aren't going to meet anyone super interesting here unless you plan to meet up with your amigos.

Stopped in before the Foo Fighters concert. Sat at the bar & had great service. Life size jenga was fun to watch. Good food (surprisingly good grilled chicken salad!) Crowd was fun but not too rowdy. Could see this becoming a regular haunt.

Used to be the go to neighborhood sports bar for all the locals. Now just an overpriced money pit who have been suckering people in by blaring loud Beiber'esc style music and also cuz of the location (next to Metro, Smartbar, and Wrig field). There are absolutely no drink specials (unless u consider a Coors lite tall boy can for $8 special). Simply gauging peoples wallets knowing that most of em come in from out of town for the Cubs games and dont know any better, or again, just settle for the fact its in close proximity to the above mentioned venues. There used to be a line out the door before they opened at 11am on Sundays just waiting to get a seat for Bears games. Now your likely to see 2 or 3 tumblweeds rolling through there at halftime. Its truly a shame cuz it was the place all of us neighborhood city dwellers wud assemble for 'all' Chicago sports games. Im under the impression the new owners just dont wanna admit what they thought wud work hasnt, and doesnt (hey we'll just buy a bar in wrigley and the rest will take care of itself). To wrap, the food was supposedly escalated from what ive heard from a couple peeps, but with and escalated price to go with it. Its a bar dude... get with it. You get folks coming back by taking care of them, not by financially ass raping em. Altho it states Irish bar those days are long gone. Nothing at all close to Irish. Really wish new owners wud change back to the old ways or just face facts that they werent as smart as what they thought. I predict it sells before next Cubs season.... to hopefully someone who takes care of their fellow neighborhood patrins. Neighborhood has sold out enuff already.. bring it back to the way 'real Chicagoans' do it - by taking care of eachother.

DONT EAT HERE! Got a turkey burger- the buns were so hard I could of used them as coasters. Not only that, it took almost an hour for my food to arrive and the place was empty! The only reason why I'm giving them 2 stars is because I feel bad for them.

They could give the entire bar away for free and it would still suck ass. Go buy a hot dog for Christsakes. Let me get this straight, they close Fuel, a rock bar where a diverse group of people could hang out, and reopen as this dump? What we needed was ANOTHER Irish themed bar for baseball goons to go to meet ex-sorority girls. Loser.

One dollar beers and burgers on Thursday, need I say more. I don't even eat burgers but I do like a cheap beer. You have to get there early though, or you don't have a table, which leads to awkward burger eating on a ledge or making new friends with a table. I wouldn't recommend going during Cubs season, since it gets really crowded, but on the off season, it is a fun place to meet up with friends.

One of the many bars in Wrigleyville. I personally do not see anything so special about it...nothing that makes it stand out from the rest. Well..maybe except for the free hot dogs before and after Cub's home games (with a purchase of a beer that is)...

If you value your sanity, you will stay away from this place. We went here in July 16th at 5:45pm the night of a concert at Wrigley. There were 4 of us who sat at the bar. First they only gave us 2 menus when they took our drink order, which were served in little plastic cups, they didint come back till 10 minutes later to take our order. We ordered salad, BLT, Turkey Club and Grilled Chix sandwich, 30 minutes went by, no food, no one even came by to apologize or let us know the status of our order. We saw other people who ordered 10-15 minutes after us get there food. When we asked about our order, we were told it will be out in a few minutes. Almost 10 minutes later my friends Turkey Club came out, then 10 minutes later my salad came out, another 10 minutes goes by and the other 2 people still didnt get there food. I called the bartendar over and complained, finally after almost 20 minutes of the first person getting there food the other 2 orders come out. The BLT was suppose to be no mayo and fries, came with mayo and tater tots, sent it back, came back with fries and with no mayo but on plain bread, they didnt even toast the new bread. Ridicoulous. I finally called the manager over because at this point I couldnt believe what we had to deal with. She told me they got slammed and certain things like burgers and steaks take longer to cook (which none of us ordered). I proceeded to point out the 3 other groups of people sitting next to us all who received their orders (even though they ordered almost 15 minutes after us) who were all eating burgers and steaks. She again tried to come up with some lame excuse. We had to rush and eat because we were already late for the concert. So until these people learn how to run their business and kitchen, I recommed the many better restaurants that are in Wrigleyville, that are 100 times better then this place.

One of my favorite post-Cubs bars in Wrigley. It has a very relaxed atmosphere, pretty cheap drink prices and always a great place to celebrate the Cubbies winning! There are also a few big screen TV's in case you don't feel like going to the game-you can always watch it here.

you gotta love the table top, personal mini kegs, plus everybody gets a free hotdog after the game, and a dj always comes on after the game to liven the place up

whoa. this place was a major blur. came here after a cubs outing for work. great staff. lots and lots of drinking. there was a guy in a hotdog suit (see added photo). there was free popcorn. i'm not sure, but there may have been free hot dogs. or someone loves me and fed me one. oh, there were nachos! those were okay. they did go fast, though. oh! they had skinnygirl tangerine vodka! hello!

Some of my guy friends have been disappointed. lol

  • Brandon S.

Meh.

Good food, drinks for every budget, and a great locale between 2 of my favorite Chicago locations: Wrigley Field and the Metro. Go for the specials and btw they have KARAOKE! That seals the deal for me.

Good times.

  • John B.

i always go here before shows at Metro. it's never too packed or loud and there's always a reasonable drink special. last time i was here, a guy that looked just like Kenny Rogers face-planted walking out of the bar (at 6pm!). i had to wait for about 5 minutes for him to get up and get out of the way of the entrance so i could get in. yeah, i should have helped him, but he looked like he smelled bad. and he was wasted. the staff was laughing at him. i think they have free chicken wings sometimes. this is a decent place to kill an hour at.

    (4)
  • Jason Z.

Go figure.

    (3)
  • Ren H.

They give away free hot dogs here after every cubs home game!

    (5)

    (3)
  • Chris S.

Loser.

    (1)
  • Sarah C.

    (3)
  • a w.

    (2)
  • Sophia S.
