This place is awesome!! Only missing a star because the didn't get my order right the first time, but I was still good so it was worth ordering again. The second time everything was right and delivery was speedy. This is probably going to become a usual spot for me.

Great food. Never had a problem. One of my favorite Mexican places in the area. They are a "dime a dozen" in this neck of the woods, but this place is solid. Love the flavor of their carne asada. Only downfall is that its a running family joke that, although it's called "Fast Burrito"...they are actually on the slower side, and often get annoyed with the length of time it takes them to make a simple order when things don't look busy. But besides that, food is great. Not greasy and very flavorful. Not a fan of the rice though.

Ordered food from here tonight. We really enjoyed the chicken enchiladas in tomato sauce. Very good, came with rice & beans. The steak nachos were good but the carne asada was too salty.

Yum. Huge portions and great prices. I got the lengua torta which was decent. The meat could've been a little more flavorful but I like how it the torta came with avocado, tomato and lettuce on a massive roll. Will definitely return!

This place is OK. We had two pastor tacos, a steak taco and two chicken tacos. I'm not a huge fan of chicken tacos, but they were pretty tasty. The pastor was a little on the sweet side. A bit sweeter that I like. To me, really good pastor needs to be smokier with just a hint of sweet, and this was heavy sweet with a hint of smoky. I also love steak tacos on charcoal instead of on a grill, but I know that's not achievable for every taqueria, neither is pastor off the spit. Taking those factors into consideration, I think this place still does pretty well. The food is fresh and the flavors are good, even if they're not my ideal. When I walked in, there was an African gentleman with a heavy accent sitting at a table. He was a customer and overheard us deciding. He said, "Is this your fist time? It is?! You will love it! The food is so good. And this is coming from a black man!" Obviously, the regulars love it. I noticed he was having a dinner and not tacos lie we ordered. It's BYOB also. I think I'll try it again, bring some cerveza and sit down for a meal. The service was really good so I would not mind coming back.

My go to burrito place. I like that it's in my neighborhood and local. Not a huge fan of the rice but the crane asada burrito and horchata are great. Been here multiple times and I always get those items. Haven't dined in but take it to go.

We happened upon this place by accident. We were at a quincenera in the area and, like a wedding, there was a break between the church and the reception. We did a Yelp search and found out that this place was nearby. We were were the only people in the place and the owners were super friendly and had a nice conversation with us. The food was pretty good -pretty typical of any taqueria you find in Chicago. For me, it wasn' t so much, but just the whole experience. The owners were really nice and the food came out fast. It was a good experience and it is a place i would eat at again!

1st time here & way better food than the Salsa Verde Mexican Rest. Liked it very much. Loved the way they serve you Pico de Gallo instead of just regular sauce. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 b/c the environment is not the best. Very small tables & chairs & not a lot of space for a big group of people.

The delivery came hot/warm enough for my tastes. The delivery driver was upbeat and smiley which is refreshing. The problem I had was the chicken fajitas I got were extremely bland. It was if the chicken was not marinated at all. The asada taco was a bit better, but still lacked a lot of flavor. The ingredients seemed to be fairly fresh however. It was kind of disappointing I had to season my own fajitas though. I have had worse Mexican food delivered however by other places. But I can't say I would order from here again.

I have three words for you: CARNE ASADA NACHOS. I have one word for you after eating that: GYM. Seriously though, the carne asada nachos is a huge appetizer filled with steak, lots of melted cheese, tortilla chips, lettuce, sour cream, and sliced avocado on top... Sorry I had to wipe my keyboard because of all the drool that came out of my mouth right now. Gross. Anyway, it's a huge appetizer and two people will probably get full off of eating just that, but if you've got a stomach that's an abyss (like mine), then you'll probably have no trouble finishing that on you're own, and if you do... You go Glen Coco.

Ordered late night delivery via GrubHub. Used cash delivery option and only had a $20. Delivery driver had no change, so forced my hand to give him an over $5 tip. Very unprofessional. Will never order again.

What a big surprise! This food was really great! I just love to be pleasantly surprised. Sometimes you order food and you know you're probably going to be disappointed. Well, I saw the four star reviews for this place and had an inkling of hope. I was right! Yay intuition! I ordered some pretty basic stuff after throwing a dinner party (I just wanted to reward myself) and it was great, it hit the spot, and everything was steaming hot. Also, the guy got here SO much faster than grubhub said he would. It was great. And there was a ton of it, so Mama's going to have a terrific breakfast! YUM.

Excellent food especially for the price highly recommend. Tacos are very good they are open late and the cooks know what they are doing.

This place had the smallest and not very good tacos, the Spanish rice was so yellow that it looked like they used food coloring to make the rice. I will never eat there again.

This is a solid burrito spot. Got the asada burrito dinner which came with a huge burrito and rice and beans. I would definitely order it again. Also ordered the guac and chips which was fresh but could have used some lime and salt. The prices are reasonable and they are fast.

I ordered a steak burrito from here, the steak was dry and it had no flavor. I ordered a Taco Al Pastor and it didn't taste good or look right. They do however add avocado to their burritos, so I had that going for me, which was nice. And the delivery guy was friendly.

The steak Tortas and steak tacos were fantastic as well as rice and beans , for this place being so little it is well worth the trip . The owners were great , loved this place .

Steak Tortas and Chicken Burritos are to die for! Extremely friendly and quick service. My girlfriend is jealous of my relationship with their food!

The al pastor was pretty good, the carne Asada lacked flavor. Horchata was real cinnamon tasting ....it's better then tbk at least

Pretty good. I live in the neighborhood and get the steak burrito all the time. Definitely above average food, but nothing amazing. Cheap, fast burrito - perfect place when you are hungry and want something quick and delicious on the cheap. Not a place for a date, but thats totally ok with me. You can even bring your own beer. I like this place to stop in grab a burrito to eat at home personally.

My mom and I wanted a real authentic Mexican dinner in the city. Since she was visiting from Ohio, I wanted to take her somewhere really different. I found this place just by searching on Yelp. We decided to dine in, which I wouldn't really suggest since it's pretty tiny and we were just about the only ones there. My mom ordered the chicken fajitas and I ordered the Burrito Suizo. OH. MY. GOODNESS. Sooooo good!! I am so glad we came here. The prices were so cheap and the food was some of the best Mexican I have ever had. We also got the guacamole as an app and again, AMAZING! I would certainly recommend this to anyone who loves them some Mexican food! However, I would recommend that you take out and not eat in! It's pretty plain inside and there was bit a basement smell. But in any case, insanely delicious Mexican food. Go try it out!!!

So this oh so FAVORITE restaurant o mines, is no longer my fave. It was sold and new owners took over. Worst thing that could've happened to this place. The food just isn't the same. New owners, and new cooks= me not a happy camper. I gave em a couple of chances and the last time was just it for me. I won't be coming back. I ordered the nachos minus the lettuce, I wanted it strictly with the guac and sour cream and cheese. The guac had hot peppers in it, that were clearly visible when inspecting the guac closely...I'm highly allergic to spicy or hot foods. When I brought it to the waitresses attention/owner she asked the cook and he denied it. How can you deny what I can clearly see and smell that opens up my sinuses?! Its over!! Such a shame, I loved the convenience.

Was outside of my normal neighborhood getting work on my car and dropped in at the recommendation of Yelp. Was not disappointed. Completely agree with others here- sadly hidden under some construction scaffolding with a name and exterior appearance that would have certainly made me miss it. Felt much like how I'd expect hanging out in a Mexican family's living room and getting a good home-cooked meal to be. I usually head straight for the tacos at a taquieria, but something about this place had me craving a burrito. Was rich with a lot of flavor. Price was super reasonable. What looked to literally be a mom and pop running the show were super friendly. I'd come back to this area just for another burrito.

No, this is not some knock-off Chipotle as the name sounds. Having been on a search for a good authentic Mexican restaurant in Chicago, I think I may have found it. No frills, no fuss, just some good freakin' tacos. Portions are large, the meat is well-seasoned and juicy [side note: I hate that word], and the tacos hit the spot. We tried an assortment of pastor, chicken, and asada. While I always lean to chicken tacos, the pastor were the highlight, as were the chips with the freshly-made guac. Friendly staff and owners, easy on the wallet, and super clean as well. Winner.

Have been searching for a new burrito spot after my job moved me away from L'Patron in Logan Square. (Sad) Tried Fast Burrito after reading some Yelp reviews and was glad I did. Like a lot of taquerias, the interior is pretty plain, but I'm not looking for a dining experience. Just cheap/fast/delicious. I had the el pastor burrito. It was tasty although a bit on the small-side. I'll definitely order again to try their other burrito offerings

This is a little family owned restaurant suffering from poorly chosen name syndrome. The food is both hand and well made but the name implies a garbage fast food Mexican place that provides you Tabasco to spice up your burrito with. Had I not been killing time on the same block I would've never thought to give them a try. They seem like a nice couple and I'm glad I did. The al pastor was very good, portions were solid, the chips were warm and I believe made fresh and the guacamole was delicious. Everything was well seasoned without being too salty. It's a good little place just a bad name.

Today I gave this restaurant a try and the couple running the establishment were very nice. The food was fresh and the corn tortillas were perfect, soft and warm. The al pastor was a bit dry and had some gristle, the carne asada was okay, the chicken taco was excellent. I liked the chips and two different salsas offered. Rounding out the dinner, the rice and beans were very good. The horchata was heavenly and I regret not having got the largest size. The restaurant is dated and lacks ambiance. It's a good place to eat a quick lunch or dinner. but I don't think you'd want to bring a date here.

Truly outstanding Mexican food hidden on Irving park rd near kimball! The tampiquena con 2 enchiladas and tacos asada were excellent. The best was the tacos and burritos al pastor/. Order some guacamole and add it to your meals. The guacamole was perfect. The owners are super kind and the restaurant is very clean. I just had lunch at frontera grill and dinner at xoco and this place was better than xoco and almost as good as frontera grill!

I think the name is very well chosen. I did not find anything special about their food, except that it is indeed as fast as any food you get in a taquerias. The food is rather plain. Honestly, I have seen many far more better taquerias in Chicago for the same price and in more expensive locations.

He got BBQ pork tacos and I got the veggie enchilada. We both liked our food and the horchata was yummy. Fast service and good prices means we might go back even though its a little far.

Wow I wanted a nice and juicy full of juice burrito with all the toppings mmmm mmm good not like quiznos ,but more meat to make me dance on my feet. So I was boggling my mind of what to eat on these cold chicago streets and I thought hmmm yes FAST BURRITO. I skipped in with my care bears jacket on and my jetsons shoes. I know my stomach was acting up not because I was hungry ,but for the fact I knew i had how do you say oh yea DA FARTS. I waited in line and all of sudden I was letting them GO rip, toot ,oh my goodness it was like a car backfiring. One after another. All of sudden the gentleman in front of me let's call him RONALD. " WHAT THE HELL YOU NEED TO STOP FARTING!!!. I was shocked and didn't pay attention ,but Ronald yelled maybe you need to use the potty. I went up anyways and put my order in for a big fat juicy BURRITO. As I was ordering RONALD yelled NO BEANS FOR THIS GUY NO BEANS! The cook was shocked and said what NO beans I said light on the beans for me cause of my tummy. As I eat the juicy mouth watering fun of meat. I have to admit the volcano of noise came back and it was off to the bathroom. Luckly 20 mins later after sweats and praying to the big JC I was on my way. whooo what a trip.

I like Mexican Food, plain and simple. mexican food is not afraid of a little spice...and I like SPICE!! Bring on the jalapeno's and RED HOT salsas.=D I've had carry out twice from this little gem. Delicious. My favs so far: 1. Tacos el pastor 2. Tacos asada Honorable Mention: HOLY MOLEY GUACAMOLE!! The cook made it fresh on the spot. MUST TRY!! Slather it on your tacos. Add the green and red salsas and you have a mighty tasty authentic mexican experience. Small mom and pops restaurant. Worth a try. If it tastes this good after a 20 min drive home, it must rock fresh off the grill! The meat is tender and flavorful. oh, I had Frontera Fresca (old orchard mall location) a few days..cringed at my taco el pastor and was like "Yuck!" ...give me my Fast Burrito.

Authentic small Mexican restaurant, recently opened, run by nice people who deserve success in the future. It's a little unfortunate that they chose the name "Fast Burrito", because it makes the place sound like some quite generic tacqueria. Actually many things here are a cut above average. Clean, new, well-lit, with an open kitchen. The woman there was preparing licuados in a blender when not working on the entrees. Nicer plates and cutlery. Has table space for about 25 people. Good salsas, not sure if they make them in-house but I assume that they do. Large menu, has some items which are specifically vegetarian. The enchiladas with mole were excellent. Very inexpensive prices, getting a very good value for the price. Read the Spanish-language newspapers. Talked with the owner for a long time about reminiscences of my travels in Mexico. Then we watched the Mexico versus El Salvador World Cup soccer preliminary match on TV. Mexico won, and we had a grand old time shouting "Goooooooolll !" along with the overdramatic Mexican sportscasters.

it'll do in a pinch--say if i lost my legs and arms and couldn't get anyone to take me to Traspasada. or, as in the most recent instance, because a blizzard kept me close to home. otherwise, this place is worth skipping. tacos are nothing special, and the rice is speckled with the mysteriously overcooked peas and carrots characteristic of places that use vegetable soup to flavor their rice. refried beans are a no--you might do better with a can from the grocery store. i do like their horchata, however. not too sweet nor dilute, and the fact that it's ladled out of a giant, worn pot makes me feel like it was brewed up by someone's abuela who learned how to make it from her own abuela. my experience with service here has been quite good, but not what i'd call "rapido."

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
