I recently visited the Backroom with a friend. The night we were there, the band was excellent. They were playing early 80's music. My friend could not drink her first drink because it tasted terrible. I am not sure how a bartender can mess up a vodka and diet coke. She switched to beer after that. I was drinking scotch on the rocks. When I got the tab, I noticed that the they charged a dollar a glass for the ice. The drink experience decreased my review by two stars.

Great music, nice people, but mediocre and expensive drinks. We stumbled upon the place and it is very well decorated with an excellent band but that is it.

Went there tonight based on good reviews, the band playing was Double Shot. I'm sure they love music, but they can't sing. We stayed 20 minutes and left - a complete waste of our money! Check and be sure of what band is playing.

We got pulled off the street with no cover since it was a slow night.... FANTASTIC band, we had a great time. We ended up putting a bunch of money in the band's tip jar. They were great. I've been in here when it is packed. It's still fun but I like it better on a "School Night." Well worth the price of a couple of drinks. Compared to theater and concert tickets costing $150. a seat this is actually a really cheap night out.

The music was great, the drinks were heavy and the mc was funny. They even sang a birthday song with the names and professions incorporated. A bit pricey for a dive style bar, but entertaining for sure.

We were stopped on the street by a Backroom promoter. He gave us a "VIP" pass for free entry into the BR. We took it and sat in the front row of the first set of the band. The bar was empty. The band was great-- tight instrumentals and ok vocals. When the bill came we were charged more that 60 bucks for 2 drinks-- 11 for one; 40 for the other; and 10 for gratuity. We we asked about the $40 drink charge the staff said that was the regular price. Don't go unless you have cash to throw down the toilet.

I liked BackRoom - we stayed at The Westin then went to dinner and walked here. 2 drink minimum. We sat at one of the round booths and our waitress was attentive, not annoying. The band was bluesy with a touch of jazz and seemed real homey, not stuck up as some more well known performers can be. It's dark, chill and rowdy free. Er, except for the lady at the bar who knows the owner or somebody important and kept interrupting the band until enough patrons complained and gaave her the boot. I would return.

Went to see RICKEY RAINBOW & Ott band & it was just that. OVER THE TOP!! Had a great time, the atmosphere was beautiful and kicked back and the service was excellent but the performance of Mr. Rainbow & the band made the night memorable. Why isn't his guy writing exceptance speeches for a Grammy!!!?,??

I dig this place. It's a great back-up plan for spontaneous nights when you want to do something different and you're willing to pay the $20 cover. It's small enough that no matter where you sit--balcony, ground level, at the bar--you'll have a good seat. It's never been too crowded when I've gone. I like that it's cozy and intimate. The band/singers might seem amateurish compared to other places, but they have a good time. The music is usually on the bluesy side with occasional old and neo soul, and the crowd is pretty laid back.

A great venue. My bartender, Amy, was fantastic, courteous, sweet, and fun. The drinks were potent, fairly priced, and tasty. Try the Moscow Mule! The food was delicious. The music was fantastic. Great musicians adapting old and new favorites to fit the crowd. I had an amazing time. I recommend it to anyone visiting in Chicago.

I love this place ! the music was fantastic, the drinks were good and the staff was very cool ! It's dark and cozy, great for a date and they're open late ! If you're in the Rush St. area late at night this is the perfect place to end the night !

We had a nice evening, until the bouncer and owner? harassed us. Not pleasant. i would not recommend this place. The "touristy" label on over reviews seems true. We sat down at our table and we didn't want a drink right away and the waitress seems irritated with us and one of the managers came over and reminded us that there was a two drink minimum which we were told at the door (more than once).. They were more concerned about turning the table over than treating their customers well. Very irritating. Also the manager gave us a hard time outside the club (we were smoking). Overall not a pleasant experience. There are so many clubs in Chicago. i would choose another over this one.. The concierge at our hotel tried to steer me away, and i should have listened to her. I won't be going back anytime soon , nor will i recommend this to my clients. One the positive side the band we saw was OK, although the sound could have been balanced better.

  • Lisa M.

The music was amazing but there's no place to dance. The drinks were awful so get a bottled beer. Even water from the tap was questionable. The cover and 2 drink minimum were ridiculous and made the night much more expensive than we anticipated.

The music was pretty good. That said, I haven't been very impressed with the Back Room the few times I've gone. 1. It's expensive. Although the music is good, it definitely doesn't justify the $20 weeknight cover. The only jazz club where a $20 weeknight cover is OK is the Jazz Showcase. Drinks will run you like $7.50 here. 2. It's loud - the audience, not the music. The Back Room is, on any night, packed with flocks of tourists (they offer big discounts for groups of 10+) who are in town for conventions, etc. and just ate dinner on Rush St. Tourists are about cameras and conversation, not local music. Tips: - Print out a coupon from the website for half-price cover. Know that to use it, you have to sit at the bar. There are about 10 seats at the bar. - Call ahead or use the website to make reservations because this place is small and doesn't allow standing. Some drunk lady named Amy from Indiana asked me and my buddy if we were "together." The funniest part is that if we were gay, it would have made her night. You know, because she's from Indiana and they ain't got none o'them gays over 'ere.

Loved the music and overall experience. Skinny Williams and band are consummate performers and you will get your money's worth! At first I was a little irritated with the "rip off the tourist" game the management has set up. First you pay to get in ($20) then they announce that if you want to sit at a table you must order two drinks per person (another $20 minimum if you buy domestic beer). Then they add a 20% tip for the server (on your bill, not listed anywhere). It just felt sleazy. But when the band was playing I was thinking about what I would be paying at some upscale venue for the same quality music without a table at the stage, without drinks, and I Alize's that I was totally getting my money's with here. Just wish they would dial down the sleaze factor so you don't feel you are getting ripped off. Also, if the girl in the bathroom wants me to tip her she should clean the pee off the seat before she directs me to one of the several open stalls. I don't expect pristine toilets in a bar, but I'm not going to pay for dirty ones!

Quietly tucked away in the madness that is Rush St. is this wonderfully intimate little club. You can get VIP passes on their website for half off the cover, which is usually @ $20.

  • Darrick A.

Place is fine it's really has a good name cause it is the "Backroom" the long hallway is a trip! But I attend when the performer was "Diva D" great show, band off the chain. Only complaint cover charge and then 2 drink min., you'll be out off a good 90.00 for a couple, and a few of the wait staff are very rude. My suggestion would would be drop of the charges it would be much better!

  • Sharon C.

We had a great time there, last Saturday. The music and atmosphere was good for you to realx your soul..... Cover is 15 for shows, only. Minimum order - 2 drinks/pp.

  • T L.

I recently visited the back room. The waitress was extremely rude!

    (2)
  • Eunice S.

I've gone to the backroom about 2-3 times now. I know that there is cover, (~$20) but I have yet to pay. It was definitely a memorable experience to listen to the live jazz/blues band. The band usually does a set and than it's repeat. I believe they take requests with a tip. Overall the ambiance is low key and laid back. The crowd was mature and older which was expected. It's alright to go once in awhile, but not somewhere I'd go often. If you decide to go, print out their coupon, make reservations, and expect to pay for cover+drinks.

I had a blast when I came here with family. I was born in Chicago but Detroit raised, so when they asked me where I was from I yelled, "Detroit" and they broke off some Motown goodies. Then my cousin yelled out that he was from Columbus, Oh and all had a nice laugh at his lameness. Cool.

Great place for an intimate jazz session. But....how can tanq and tonics be $12 and Hennessy $13? With a two drink minimum and cover charge this gets pretty pricey. The minimum makes no sense when some people are drinking water and other pay for the premiums. Anyway, it was very disturbing that the band had to ask for money for their fishbowl when management should be taking care of the music (isn't that what cover charges usually cover?). Yes, i like the place, but you have to expect price gouging. BTW the band was great.

    (2)
  • Dan V.

Recommended by the waiter at Hugo Frog's, he hooked us up with some passes. Only down side is that it's pricey! Still $25 to sit up front, two drink minimum. That being said it was kicking. Four piece band, rocking some great jazz and R & B. Mauree was the lead singer, what a great voice! Very intimate and involved with the crowd. They take requests from the crowd. It's what you think about as a "back Room" lounge. Brick walls, upstairs and down stairs. We had a blast!!!! Very cool!

  • Amit M.

This place is super small but is definately a place to at least stop in and have a drink. We went there on a Sunday night after dinner and were seated almost right away. The music was good, people were into the music and dancing and the place had an overall good vibe. Should definitely check it out if you're by there.

  • Alexis M.

A sexy little lounge serving up great music and cocktails. To get into the lounge you go through a extremely long, incredibly dark hallway. HOT! And yes, the cover is a bit high, but here is a tip for you. They may let you sit in the upstairs bar for free. The view isn't the greatest, you see the tops' of the bands heads, but you can still grove to the sultry jazz. Don't go if you are extremely horny. The music is just going to make you want it more. I'm speaking from experience. Trust me - IT'S THAT GOOD!

They closed!!!!! We had a great time at The Backroom. I wanted to go back recently but they closed. The ambiance was great as was the music and drinks. Our servers were nice and friendly. So sad to see them go. I hope they open up somewhere else!

All I can say, after our Saturday night, nightmare, is, it is not fair to dance on someone's grave, but it is timely that The Backroom is turning out the lights. Caberet Series was a BORE, the following jazz/motown band was not ready for prime time. But like I said, no grave dancing,

Cool place. Cool atmosphere, music and service. It is unfortunate that the smell was so bad that I could only make it through one set. I would have liked to stay longer, but the smell pushed me out.

I don't live in Chicago but this place is pretty good. If you are a live music fan, you will enjoy. They schedule live bands there I think for every day of the week. The night I was there, Avain Hightower and Full Circle ( youtube.com/watch?v=djOz… ) was playing. They are an R&B/Soul band. Great place for date night or an outing with a group of friends. Only downfall (big one for me) is that the bar is expensive. I am from Atlanta, so I know the expensive bar tab scene, but never I never get used to it. The list of drinks that the bartenders know if very short and service was slow for the number of people there. Be weary of how much they charge as they charged me the cost of 2 shots for a french connection after they asked me how to make it. I would have rated a 3 for the service, but the live music made it up for me.

The good. The bad. And the ugly. First the good. The band on the night we were here was really good. They played everything from jazz to Motown and had our large group up and dancing for most of the night. And this was on a Monday! Big fun there even though the dance floor is only a small strip of carpeting between the stage and the first row of tables. The bad? $5 cover on a Monday night when the place is empty? Please. And the décor? White palm trees against black walls just screamed tired and old to me . . .I didn't even know bars like this were allowed in this part of town. And now the ugly. My martini came to me in a sugared martini glass that was sticky and covered with lipstick. Oh. Did I tell you that it was a for a dirty martini? No sugar necessary which means the bartender put my drink in a dirty glass. YUCK. Yes it was quickly replaced when I brought it back but how he couldn't see, or feel that the glass was dirty was beyond me. Will I be back? Doubtful. There just places that I would rather spend my time and money at. Although that band was really good . . .

A dive bar and an interior makeout-a-thon venue with a 2 drink minimum and a $10 cover. AV setup -- sucks! Instruments are too loud. We weren't able to hear the lyrics or the good voice. NO lyrics allowed. :-) Venue -- Be careful. The floor is cement, carpet and a step up that is potentially hazardous with alcohol consumption. Drinks -- special price on Tues. Drink Portion is itty bitty with lots of ice. Non-alcoholic drink is $5. Failure to order 2 drinks, you also get charged $5. Unknown Band -- after 4 hours, I know about their CD, but no clue about band name. Chairs/Tables -- plentiful and crowded.

If my friend didn't bring me here, I would never have known it existed. Backroom is tucked away down an alley, but as soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and initiate atmosphere. I was expecting jazz but it was more like a really good wedding band with music you can sing and dance along too. The singer that night had an amazing voice. The drinks were Manhattan prices (~$15 each). I would come back!

    (4)
  • Stu F.

Enjoyed the music and crowd enthusiasm. Poor wine selection and what they do offer wasn't good. Could use a sound man ( desperately!). Added gratuity to my bill for a two person tab and also paid a cover cover charge. That is a joke since rail bourbon and diet was $12/ per. I won't go back.

  • Fri A.

Was convinced to try this place out after the promoter flagged us down while walking out of Le Colonial. The situation seemed a little sketch, you know? Either way, we paid the $10 and followed him down the dark alleyway and we had a great time. The band was good the night I was there, it was a little empty, but we enjoyed ourselves. The drinks were just okay, but I could have ordered the wrong thing. Overall, it was good time and I will definitely be back.

The Backroom is directly connected to the Drawing Room lounge in the front. It does have its own dedicated entrance through an alley, but this wasn't the way we got in. Tickets are available online for 15 bucks but since our bartender from the Drawing Room walked us in, we didn't have to pay it. Keep in mind, our tab was around 60 bucks so that may have been a factor for entry. The cocktails served in this venue were not as involved as Drawing Room, but if you wanted an Old Fashioned, you can get it here. There are also snacks to chomp on like Ranch Flavored Popcorn or Calamari as you sit and enjoy the live music. -=-The Live Music, Skinny Williams Band-=- It was a touch of Motown and Jazz. Pretty enjoyable when he went around and saxaphoned in everyone's face. They encouraged people to get up and dance, which a few did, but most people sat around their tables and sipped their drinks. The atmosphere was lively and on this busy Saturday night, the band would be playing till about 2am. We heard that afterhours to chill and hang out would extend all the way to 4am, but we didn't hang around long enough to find out.

Came here the night after Christmas. What a fun thing to do!! I thought we'd catch the first show and go home but we stayed until it closed. The drinks and service are wonderful. The show we saw was Ricky Rainbow. He was fun and is very talented. He did a range of Motown to The Eagles to Black Eyed Peas. My only rub was not the venue's fault - the PDA. The were a few over served couples that were gettin' down in an embarrassing way. I'd come back for some cocktails and live music anytime!

I have been here twice in one year most recently last night to see Ricky Rainbow and the Ott Band. I am a native to the gold coast hood so I like to patronize local spots if they are good quality establishments. And this place is for sure one of the those This is in the space that used to occupy the gold coast hood. e For those of you that have been to cafe wha in Greenwhich Village, this spot will remind you of that place only that this space has more room. it's kinda cozy with two bar areas. The manager was nice and comped me a vodka and cranberry for me when they door guy told him I was a local. It's not about the money or the fact that the drink was free. it was the fact that they appreciated that you have decided to hang out there despite other choices that you may have to you walking down Rush Street.. All the bartenders, wait staff were nice and no one was copping an attitude like at some places on Hubbard Street which shall remain nameless. The band was very lively and played some tunes with different variety. "the thrill is gone" a soul/jazzy/funk inspired version of "highway to hell" "everyday people" "hotel california" "do you remember" This is some of the music that I recall hearing in the hour that I was there last night. There is some room to dance if the mood strikes you and it will...dont worry about that :)

This is a nice place. I want to write this before I think about it too much. Ordered 12 year old Scotch neat and they charge an extra $2.00! Never saw this before at any other place I have ever been in all my travels. I also have to throw the bs flag on the band that played tonight . My wife comes from a family of professional music players. I have severe doubts about the horn player in this band. I know the keyboard player can manipulate just about every instrument there was on the stage tonight. His movements did NOT match the notes he was playing. I had the same issue with the female singer and some of the songs she sang on. Again based on my knowledge I have gained from my wife's family I have to question this group.

Chicago Blues as you have NEVER heard them before! This is absolutely the real thing. Your experience begins before you even enter the premise. As we were walking along Rush St., we were greeted by a gentleman who asked if we would be having a cocktail at the Backroom. When we said yes, he took us through an alley to the actual "back door" of the Backroom. It was a novel touch that added to the excitement and anticipation of what was next to come. And we were not disappointed. The interior is classy with some nice touches like a unusual horn sculpture. The bar is well stocked so you are sure to find the drink of your choice. There isn't much food but it's the type of place you go after dinner. The stage is a nice size and there is a bit of dancing space between it and the tables. Music is played until the big show. The night I went, Skinny Williams was playing. He is an EXCELLENT saxophonist. His band plays all the old smooth jams as well as the new tunes of today. We heard everything from Al Green to Cee Lo Green! The lead singer and Williams were intimate with their audience and a lucky few were the recipients of a serenade. They were not shy about interacting with their fans. So in between dancing, serenades and screaming HELL YEAH, this venue will give you the ultimate Chicago experience.

Had an amazing time with a few friends of mine on a Tuesday night. $10 cover because we arrived before the band began to play, but the bouncer mentioned that it cost $20 if we had arrived later. Pro- Small, intimate, great band Cons- Band was a little too loud for my taste; 2 minimum drink purchase

    (4)
  • Kevin W.

Terrible. I was brought by a friend and will never go back. The music was good. The skinny, tall, younger, white "bouncer" working the night of 10/7 was rude to everyone in my party. It was an extremely homophobic environment. Very sad to experience in Chicago in 2014..

This is a really cool place to hear live music. We saw Omar Coleman and his band playing outstanding blues. The service is very good and the prices are definitely reasonable.

Wife and I went here on a Friday night at the reccomendation of the Hard Rock Hotel Concierge. Our request was Live R&B within walking distance. The Back Room was ideal! The band that night was "Full Circle." A local R&B band with a wide repetoire -- Smokey Robinson, Temptations, Maze, Earth Wind and Fire, Parliment Funkadelic, Jacksons, Prince -- just a few of the hits they sang. And these guys sing! They put thier hear into it and the female lead put on an aerobic singing, dancing show that would kill any Zumba instructor!

Music venue inside of the Drawing Room. We didn't even know this existed until we started hearing the music through the doors. Apparently there's a $20 cover but if you have drinks at the Drawing Rom, this is waived. We headed over there after our drinks and it was great. There was a jazz band playing and they were phenomenal. Not sure I would pay $20 to just go here and take my chances on a good band, but I would definitely have a drink ($13) then come over. 267/365

*********************** 787 ************************* When I was in a relationship with someone in Chi Town, I loved coming here on an off night (not weekend) when they used to be at the old location, a block down, next to Le Colonial resto. They always have great artists playing here, and sometimes special guests from all over the world. If you are a Jazz lover, and doesn't want to travel outside of the this Gold Coast and Viagra Triangle area, this is it for you, so convenient. Although it can get real packed at time! Come early and fall in love with Jazz! Now The Backroom moved to the new location, more space, more table, and the service is always good here. This time I got ticket from a hotel down the street, it was another great night with all that Jazz.

  • Patricia T.

I've been here now 3 or 4 times, and each time it's been great. The music has been consistently fun and lively: jazz and R and B mostly. The drinks are definitely better and more mature up front at the Drawing Room, but are acceptable in the Back Room. The atmosphere is good. Sometimes people are dancing. Overall, good place to have a drink and enjoy live music weeknights or weekends.

  • Jen K.

The Backroom satisfied my need to experience some live music in Chicago, but it left me wanting more. We had a little bit of sticker shock when you add the cover charge [1] to the two drink minimum per show. Perhaps it would have gone down smoother if the performers were better. That is luck of the draw and also timing. We were there for the first show of a jazz/blues trio. At one point they played, "Wind Beneath My Wings" and I was like, what the hell is this? It improved after that, but it was a stripped down experience since the later shows included a singer. I love a lady who can sing the blues. There are three shows a night with a fourth abbreviated set late on Saturday nights. The main showroom is cozy but there is no standing, so everyone has a good view of the stage. At first we wandered up the spiral staircase and I believe those seats (don't hold me to this) don't have a cover charge, but you don't really see the band. Sadly this was the only club I visited in Chicago (so others will have a better basis for comparison). Next time I'll do a little more research and stay out later. [1] Ask your hotel about discounts.

Terrible. As soon as we arrived they were forcing drinks on us. I literally felt pressure to suck down a drink and order the next...I am a nurser as a result I got sick, after getting ill outside I was told I could not come back in by Matt. I was not aware that getting sick after you get on with your 2 drink minimum bs. Ridiculous. Would not ever go back and whomever the skinny black guy at the door is should be fired. They are lucky I don't file the way he treated me. The music was not that good. Was more like R&B than jazz and no one was dancing. The 'show' was 2 hrs then I guess you had to leave to clear out for the next show. Again ridiculous. Hated it.

The Backroom! What can I say? I somehow end up here almost every time I'm in Chicago, yet I don't know why. It's so incredibly unlit in here, which is OK, but if you've found yourself exiled to the upstairs bar and lounge area, beware! The only way up and down (that I can tell) is a tiny, spiral staircase waiting to grab your drunk ass and toss it over the railing. Trust me, this happens. I can tell you from experience. The music has always been awesome - that, I can say with confidence. It's loud, rhythmic, pulsing, and oh-so-Chicago. The drinks at the bar are just OK and pretty expensive, which you can expect for the area.

  • Amy L.

The band took a-while to come on, but it was great when the music started. The servers were beautiful and the service was good for a place that was super busy. The drinks were a little higher priced- but it is a place located in the Gold Coast. For a fun time.. and drinks ..GO!

We were here on a Saturday and used a Groupon for dinner at the Drawing Room and it came with free admission and drinks here. The space is very cozy and laid back. They have a lot of tables for 2 plus a handful of tables for larger groups closer to the door. We were promptly seated and given our bottle of prosecco. Then that's where the night went array. The waitress completely ignored us after leaving the prosecco in an ice bucket. She never came back to check on us. EVER. Then she appeared out of nowhere and handed us our check....Um I actually wanted to order food and additional drinks, but since she was so quick to dismiss us, we left. So maybe she had to give us the check because of the Groupon, but she made no eye contact so I'm not sure what happened there. It was busy by the time we left, but the cold shoulder started before the crowd arrived. We didn't want her to think that Groupon people were cheap so we left a 40% tip on the full price of that prosecco. Oh yea--the live music was spectacular.

This place is called 'The Back Room' because basically that's what it is.... you have to go down a long hallway to get to this bar located behind another bar. I actually had a pretty good time. We went on a Sunday night and it wasn't terribly crowded , but the place is so small you probably wouldn't want it to be. Because it was Sunday there was no cover charge and a good thing, too because the drinks were super expensive. I'm talking $12 for a glass of house wine. The music was excellent though. We had an awesome band playing for us and because the place was so small there wasn't a bad seat in the house acoustically. They were very engaging and interactive with the crowd and actually looked like they were having a great time on the tiny stage. They sang old great motown hits and blues. We got there relatively late and after the two drink minimum our group of five had spent well over $150. The place was clean and the only restroom was located up a single tiny spiral staircase. They had additional seating upstairs, but it wasn't crowded enough for people to go up, also u couldn't see the stage from upstairs unless u look straight down. The atmosphere was appropriately relaxed , tea lights on the tables, dimmed lighting, tiny cafe tables, and attentive wait staff. Great place to go listen to music and chill with friends. Honestly, I wouldn't return on a night with cover, but I had an excellent time.

Intimate, old school jazz joint. Pricey but the music is - usually - excellent. Don't sit upstairs! The spiral staircase is narrow and steep. Table service can be very slow.

Awesome place!!! We were heading back to the hotel after dinner, drinks, and some dancing when we passed by this place and the amazing music made us come in and check it out. They had a very talented group playing that night so we found a table and ended up staying there for quite a while. Very cool place to come for some drinks and good live music. I think this was my favorite place during my visit in Chicago.

Great time & Great Music...but the drinks are pricey! It was a friends birthday and she ordered without asking the price and we had a $120 bill within 30 minutes.

A nice place to go for great live music so it is worth the $20 bucks a person. They take credit cards for the cover so that is a plus. They do have free coat check and will even hold on to your left overs if you grabbed a bite to eat before heading over. The drinks werent anything special considering they have a 2 drink minimum. However, the waitress was decent in her service considering the place was packed. The music is loud and not a good place for conversation until the band goes on a break. FYI, the band will pass around a tip jar. Overall, this was a nice find.

Very cool spot! My wife and I were told about this place while eating at Devon Seafood and Grill. The Smooth Jazz & Blues music was LIVE indeed! Great energy! Skinny Williams is one bad ass dude on that Sax! Skinny at one point made his way around the club serenading all the ladies with his sax. Gettin' them ready for us guys. Lol. 2 drink min. per person is the norm, so I'm not surprised there. We will return indeed! Great spot to chill and groove to VERY good musicians!

We took a girls trip to Chicago and stopped in as someone recommended. So glad we did. Small and low light. All seats have a good view if the stage and the sound quality is good. I can't remember the name of the band but the singer is Sandy Redd. She was amazing and the guys were so much fun. Great drinks- try the mules!

The Chicago experience we all Dream of, it's HERE Folks. I was pissed off, on a biz trip from hell, wandering aimlessly from Navy Pier, first time in Chicago, and still had hope... Headphones in, ignoring most of the world. It's Friday night, and I am in search of Jazz, comfort food, and a strong cocktail. I rolled passed this place and stopped in my tracks about 20 feet from the door, something told me to turn around. And there he was, a dashing fellow there using his little index finger to motion my return... "You like Jazz?" - "I love it." - "How's your Night going?" - "Not so well" - "Usually it's $20 to come in, but I am going to wave you down...Come on in" !!!!! :D So, a couple of flights of stairs later, here I am, in the most gorgeous scene, and it unfolds like this ::: Epic jazz band, friend oysters and if I remember correctly- hushpuppies, rum and coke and soon to be joined by 2 hot sisters from London. I was smiling ear to ear. Seriously, my first time in this swinging town, and I had found a place that was the Chicago I would have only experienced if I did just what I did, ditched my co-workers. They said they had just moved to this new, bigger location a few weeks ago, I was happy to help Christen it. I only wish I would have stayed here all night until it closed up. When I am back in Chicago, look out back room. This Girl is glued to you!!! Best Review Points I could possibly give. 10 out of 10. THANKS FOR SAVING MY CHICAGO EXPERIENCE!
