for the greasiest pad see ew... ...visit this establishment. thai restaurants are a dime a dozen in chicago - we live a stone's throw away from 3. i had completely forgotten that i already had a horrible experience here (my former yelp review appeared as i wrote this review!). i don't how i wasn't scarred for life 5 years ago :) can i give this place ZERO stars? the person taking my order said i needed to meet a minimum amount for a delivery but i finally convinced him to waive that since we live 3 storefronts away - i was just unable to leave my sleeping baby alone in the apartment. he did slap on the $2 delivery fee though and it took over an hour to deliver! stay far away from this place.

Brought my parents here on a groupon, which I maybe shouldn't have done. They only come to the city once a year and I should take them somewhere that I've been and rave about rather than wasting their time on a random asian joint. The staff was extremely friendly and the place was clean with nice decor, but we were the only ones in here. There was a street fest going on outdoors and my mom seemed more interested in the churros being sold outside than the ginger chicken on her plate. To make up the groupon total of $40, we ordered a lot of food. Crab rangoon were good, though not the best I've had. And the pad see ew and pad thai were decent, but again, not the best I've had. My parents liked their selections well enough, but nobody was raving about what they were eating. So yeah, it was just a-ok.

Well I was looking for bubble tea for some reason I was craving it. So I picked this place for that reason, I wanted the bubble tea. I also then got a craving for pad Thai and I got that too. The bubble tea was soo good and not spilled. But I don't know what I got. It had all the toppings of pad Thai but the noodles were spaghetti noodles and it was covered in some other type of sauce. Really creepy.

Ordered delivery from here a few times and its quickly becoming my favorite asian delivery joint for consistently giving good food. Great price and a generous serving size. Green, red, and Panang curries were all delicious, as are the combo fried rice and smoothies. In fact, this is the only place whose fried rice I've really liked in Chicago, no one else has gotten me to order fried rice more than once. Definitely recommended

I love this restaurant. Food is fantastic! I've had pad Thai a couple of times and it is great...so is the Pad Khee Mao and the Panang Curry!! They're fast and delicious and pretty cheap too.

I have to edit and update my review. Originally, I had left a 2-star review outlining the mix-ups with our order. Now, it is a 5-star review! 55 minutes after posting my original review, the owner (I'm assuming) rang our doorbell. He explained that he was very sorry about our bad experience (must have read it on Yelp) and he told us that he wants all of his customers to be happy. He then presented us with our entire order, remade to our specifications. It is all amazing! The Thai fried rice is just right. The smoothies are smooth, creamy and delicious! That was an extremely nice gesture, unheard of in this day and age. I will recommend Thai Thank You to anyone looking for great Thai food around town. Any company with this kind of service deserves as much business as they can handle.

I've only had Thai Thank You via take-out or delivery so I can't comment on the dining-in experience, but the noodles I've had have been very good! I usually get the Pad See Ew with vegetables and it's always very tasty and fresh. Is it my favorite or even my second favorite Thai restaurant in the city? No. But it's convenient and the dishes I've tried are very good.

I was starving during lunch a couple days ago and went here reluctantly when I saw that Pho's was closed for vacation. It was two, so a bit late on the lunch side, and thus, no one was in the restaurant. Was planning sitting there and eating, but the place was depressing, so I go up to the girl at counter and ask if I could take the lunch special to go.. Got their Pad Thai in literally 7 minutes. It came with my choice of appetizer and I chose Spring Rolls. When I got back to work to eat it, the Pad Thai was still steaming! The spring rolls weren't that good, it was on the more chewy side. The Pad Thai: "It wasn't bad" is probably the best compliment I could give the dish. The decor is much to be desired and food seems pretty average. I won't be coming here since there are other Thai places around that are much better.

Really wanted to enjoy this place, but everything was a mess. Was with a group of 8, and our food all came out separate. The first person to get food was easily done before the last two were served. Then, they wouldn't split our bill, saying they couldn't because of their machines. Eventually we got them to say they just didn't want to pay fees. Just ridiculous.

I ordered the orange chicken and It wasn't very orange or chicken like. Im not sure if I noticed any chicken in my order actually. It was only dried pieces of "something". The sauce was watery and bland and the entree made me question everything. Very fresh vegetables and then one very soggy disgusting piece of broccoli that could have been there for days... The worse part, the restaurant was not the least bit surprised when I called to complain. He was very polite and very quick to give me a refund. ????!!!! I actually signed up for yelp because I was so shocked at my orange chicken....

Now that I've had Thai food in some other parts of Chicago, I realize this isn't as excellent of a place as I thought it was. I thought very highly of this place, but after a recent visit I realize it's good, but not great. The prices also went up and I would assume that's because they are on a lot of different deal sites. Should someone try it if they haven't? Sure! It's not a bad place, but it's also not the totally best either.

Nice clean restaurant with enticing menu pictures and the like. I went in for lunch and was waited on almost immediately. Prices were fair on the menu and they had a lunch special set. I ordered one of the noodle dishes with chicken. I'm not sure what's happening in this city, but the portion sizes at Thai restaurants are TINY. They were also at this restaurant. The food and noodles were perfectly spiced and presented, but there was so little of it that I was done in about 5 minutes. Yes, 5 minutes. And I'm not a HUGE dude with a pig of an appetite. So if you're not super hungry and want a nice meal. This is the place. Value is not great, but they are nice people with a good-tasting product.

I want to like Thai Thank You. I've tried it twice now because it's the closest restaurant with Chinese food near my place. The people who work there are very friendly. The orange chicken and sesame chicken are super disappointing. They are both dripping in grease, which dilutes the sauce flavors. The sesame chicken was very crispy, which is the upside. Their rice is flavorless and overcooked but I appreciate that they sprinkle it with black sesame seeds--it makes it pretty! I've struggled to eat half the meal both times. And I ditch the leftovers which I hate doing!!

The staff is very friendly, and their beef pad thai was decent. I would have liked more spice, but it was good in a pinch.

Don't waste your money. With the great Thai food that exists in Chicago (Tac Quick, Sticky Rice) this was huge let down. I ordered delivery even though I live 2 blocks from the restaurant because it was raining. It took the standard 45 minutes, which was fine. When it arrived the food was not even lukewarm. The Tom Kha soup might be the worst I've ever had in Chicago. It tasted like someone poured a full can of coconut milk in a bowl and added a hint of lemongrass. The shrimp was totally overcooked and rubbery and there was zero heat. The chicken dumplings had a decent flavor (although still a bit bland and nothing to write home about), but they were bordering on cold and could barely be called warm. I recommend the Tom Kha soup at Sticky Rice (it's the best in the city, in my opinion, and I've tried a LOT), and the Tom Yum Mu Saab at Tac Quick. If you're looking for great, authentic flavors and delivery of hot food.

I was looking for somewhere new to eat on this corner. There are not many options that aren't bars, unfortunately. But this place looked promising. And four cops were eating here so you know it's gotta be good. I ordered the thank you noodles and steamed basil dumplings. It came out in no time. I dove into the giant plate and ate it heartily. The noodles were a bit sweet, which I wasn't expecting from the description but were VERY tasty. All told, $15 before tip and I didn't order a beverage. Not too cheap for one person, but it was worth it.

Thai Thank You has never let me down! We've ordered delivery AND eaten in the restaurant, each time service is wonderful and super polite. The delivery driver is amazingly friendly and never ceases to make me smile. We don't live that far from TTY but in crappy weather it's nice to have delivery. The food is always hot and fresh. And most importantly- DELICIOUS! always on time or even before their estimated arrival time. Dining in Every time it's always either just my group or my group and 1 other table. Our food came all together and in a very timely manner. Water glasses constantly being refilled. The crab Rangoon is awesome! I'm falling in love with their curries. I've never had anything to complain about. Not too expensive. Worth every penny! Try Thai Thank You!!!

Disappointed to say the least!!! I'm not that person who usually go's out of my way to write negative reviews on yelp but I felt the need to warn ppl not to waste your time on this place. The portion size was almost embarrassing in comparison to the competition you might find elsewhere & the taste was only mediocre. If it is something satisfying you are hoping for, do yourself a favor & continue your search elsewhere.

Currently one of my favorite Thai places on the North Side. Love their Panang Curry and their Thank You Noodles. Not nearly as spicy hot as Pho's Hot and Spicy Noodles a block up Lincoln. Hot at Pho's will make me sweat and drink a gallon of water. Hot at Thai Thank You is definitely hot but it's perfect for me. Customer service - average.

This is the best Chinese place I've had in the city. I'm very picky about Chinese food and there's three main things I order just about every time I order out- sesame chicken, crab rangoon and fried rice. Lucky for me, this place is pretty much the only one I've eaten in the city (after living here one year) that does all three exceptionally well. Their crab rangoon is sweet, which is how I prefer it, and has lots of cream cheese and a little bit of crab. I don't mind the overwhelming cream cheese, and am super glad they don't have a lot of celery in them the way a lot of the places in the city tend to do. The sesame chicken in most of the orders I've received has been nice and crispy and the sauce is so good I usually pour it over my fried rice too! I tend to order from grub hub and upgrade the portion size and request fried rice instead of regular, depending on who is working they'll upgrade the rice for me for a small fee of $3, in which I usually pay at the door. I've also had the bubble tea in a few flavors and have enjoyed them all, I'm very picky about tapioca balls, and theirs are great. My only complaint is that sometimes it's very obvious when someone good is working and someone bad is, because on good nights all of the food is cooked perfectly and tastes great, and I'm called to upgrade the fried rice for the fee. On bad ones, the chicken is soggy and the rice is greasy or no one even acknowledges that I requested fried rice at all but luckily that's only happened a couple of times. The delivery man is always the same for me and he's the happiest little old man I've ever met! Such a pleasure and honestly what pulls my review up to five stars. I really enjoy Thai Thank You, especially for a place that delivers in Lakeview!

Back story: I have ordered takeout for well over a year about once a month. I always get the same thing and I ordered last night and they were beyond rude. I called to place my order and went to pick it up. The guy was beyond rude and told me there was a $10 minimum (which is a new policy) and I did not have cash. He proceeded to charge my card and be very rude. When I got home, I realized that they screwed up my order. I called them and they proceed to yell at me and to come in the next day. I told them that this has happened many times before- they have forgotten my drink many times, and DO NOT EAT THE SPRING ROLLS. THEY ARE BEYOND AWFUL. I will NOT return and would not recommend that anyone use this place.

I've never actually been in here, but I've ordered from them twice and been really happy both times. First of all: online ordering! Second: they were open on Christmas! Already they earn a couple stars for those things alone. I like having the time to waver over my order and debate with myself, then take forever finally placing it. Anyhow, delivery takes a reasonable amount of time and the service has been SUPER friendly and polite. Awesome! My orders have been correct and accurate both times despite ordering a bunch of random little things. Their fried tofu owns really hard, and I love the sweet-and-sour w/ peanut sauce that comes with. Their vegetable rolls were crisp and tasty, and the cucumber salad is really nice and has a good sauce for it as well. The lemon tofu is great, as lemon chicken is one of the few things I truly miss as a vegetarian - I'm glad it's a pre-existing menu option (not something I have to special request) and that it costs less than the chicken version! Certainly not the world's greatest food, but it's a good option for an ex-lemon chicken fiend like myself; the sauce is really nice. Pineapple fried rice is also good. The only minor disappointment was the Thai custard, though that might have been a side-effect of traveling so far and steaming itself to a weird consistency in a closed styrofoam container. I finished eating it, but it really wasn't that great. I usually like Thai custard and this seemed to have potential, so it may be better in the restaurant proper. Anyway, the food's solid and the delivery is timely and convenient. I support these folks.

I have a sixth sense about delivery drivers. We don't have a doorbell for our second floor apartment, so I have to rely on this superpower to detect when my food has arrived (I can usually make it downstairs before they can even get their phone out to call). After ordering from Thai Thank You, I got a tingling spidey sense and saw a delivery guy outside of the apartment across the street. I opened the window and heard him saying "Thai Thank You, Thai Thank You" over and over again. Apparently the restaurant had ripped the ticket where the address number was and the delivery guy just had to guess. He guessed wrong but was extremely nice and apologetic when I walked over to him and clarified the situation (he was in the process of calling me when I saw him). Problem solved, we got our food and it was delicious. The green and red curries are bold and spicy, and the steamed pot stickers are a perfect start. There are so many Thai places in the neighborhood to choose from, but TTY is near the top of my list because of the great food at a good price point.

Their name is a play on words(WHY thank you). They have only been open for three weeks and their entrees are perfected and highly consistent, appetizers are to-die for, and service on the weekends is very knowledgeable and friendly(always giving out free stuff to returning customers). I recommend Thank you noodles and fried rice, all their curries, especially the duck curry, Pad thai is alright, Pad Seew is pretty good. EVERYONE who likes Thai food should go here!!! P.S.- its BYOB

We ordered lunch for the office and were able to try a variety of goodies. Veggie Roll - super yummy Crab Rangoon - decent, I have had better elsewhere Pad Thai - run of the mill, flavor could have benefited with a little bit of kick Pad Woonsen - eh, not really my thing. I was glad I didn't order it. Seasame Chicken - very greasy dark meat breaded chicken. It had a great taste however I could have gotten a belly ache from all the grease. Thank You Noodles - I think it was the best entree of the lot. Noodles were perfect and the amount of goodies in it was great.

Decent Thai, order today for the first time. Huge portions, nice Spice Seafood and pad thai. Don't order the spring rolls they are AWFUL. They are not made with your typical "rice paper" I dont have idea what they use but it is terrible. You can't don't even take it out of the box, it comes apart!

worst thai in the city, below the quality of panda express with just as bad quality ingredients. Anyone who scored this above 2 stars either needs to get out more, or are paid posters.

I've walked by here a few times, and decided to give it a try with some friends. We had egg rolls, shrimp rolls, teriyaki chicken and orange chicken. The egg and shrimp rolls tasted like soap, and the chicken dishes were literally inedible. They tasted like they'd been left in the fryer about 10 minutes too long. That, coupled with service that could only be described as "leisurely" ensures I will not be back. I will say that my panang curry was edible, but the serving was disappointingly small (as it was for the other two dishes). But, as edible as the curry was, the poor quality of the rest of the meal still makes this place worthy of a single star.

For starters i love Thai food - all thai food. This place is pretty sub par (and i am not picky with thai) Quick delivery with their online ordering service - but everything is pretty bland / dry. When i did pick up - the place smelled very weird. This place is less than a block from where i live but i will typically walk 3 blocks more to get Asian Avenues on Belmont.

Ordering online, woohoo! For some reason nothing makes me love a place more than allowing me to become even more of a social leper by eliminating a phone call. I like the green curry and egg rolls. :) Wasn't the greatest curry ever, but definitely delicious. Can't wait to try more.

Having just moved to the neighborhood, my roommates and I were looking to try a new place on a beautiful Saturday night in July. All of the patios around were packed, but Thai Thank You was completely empty. I found this very odd for a Saturday night, and found no real reason that this should be the case. The menus have beautiful pictures of the food, and there are tons of great options. I had duck curry, which was delightful. All of the food I tried lived up to my expectations, but the only thing that wowed me was the rice that came out in a little heart shaped clump. Service was pretty mediocre. There were 5 of us eating, and they brought out all of our entrees one at a time, with 2 minute intervals between each.

An ideal diet plan would be to order from this restaurant as you will undoubtedly starve. Though the food can be adequate, the delivery is unreliable. Only 1/3 of my deliver orders ever arrive as placed, and my most recent delivery order never arrived at all. Even more unforgivable, this could have been alleviated but our first call to the restaurant to check on our order resulted in a staff member blowing us off by telling us our order was already on its way. In reality, our order was lost on the floor and never fulfilled. Only after an hour and a half and our third call on the order did someone actually take a moment to track down our lost order. Staff at the restaurant was indifferent telling us to take it or leave it. The staff implied that the owner of the restaurant was there, and when we asked to speak to him or her, they refused. We haven't even begun to talk about getting our credit card refunded back. This restaurant is a third rate food emporium that is unworthy of the ratings on Yelp and its desirable location in Lakeview. Avoid unless you enjoy heartache and starvation.

Thai, BYOB, and catching up with friends is easily one of the best ways to cap off a bland Monday. Last night, I was with a few friends and we planned on going to Asian Avenue at the busy corner of Ashland, Belmont, and Lincoln. We quickly found out that they were closed...bummer! However, right down the street was Thai Thank You. Before we went in, we stopped at Whole Foods to grab a bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner. I can't say that the decor of Thai Thank You stood out. Pretty basic, bright orange walls with flower wall art. It was nice because it was quiet and all the tables were spread out enough that we didn't overhear other guests. Our waitress was very pleasant and took our bottle of wine and brought it back in a bucket of ice. We started with the edamame which was very warm and came quickly. For dinner, I decided to go with the tofu and broccoli. Yum! The portion was perfect and the food tasted great. Tofu and broccoli is a basic dish, but if the broccoli is cooked wrong, it tastes like you're chewing a tree branch. Not the case here! The friends I was with got a fried rice dish with tofu and orange chicken. Both were pleased! We didn't go with a desert, but the waitress was happy to bring over a bag of candy for us! I thought that was really sweet. A pretty basic Thai restaurant, but there was a little extra with the service and the food was solid. Enjoyed it!

We've eaten here twice now, delivery both times, and both times my thoughts are pretty much summed up as "It was fine. Totally okay." Then again, I've only ordered the noodle dishes. Yesterday I had Pad See Eiw, if I'm even spelling that right. It was a bit low on sauce, and thus flavor, but it still was comforting and hit the spot at the time. My gentlemen friends had curries, and enjoyed them. My boyfriend's panang curry was pretty spicy, in a good way, but I think it was just pretty standard Thai fare. Also, apparently the delivery man was the nicest delivery person my boyfriend had ever encountered. The man was exuberant. We were on the second floor and could hear him talking excitedly through the closed window. Apparently when he saw my BF open the door he just went "Hello!!!! Here is your food!!! This is for me (the money), and that is for you (the food)!!!!!" gotta love that. Also you can order online, which rules. And you get a free appetizer with orders over $18. Shazam.

Thai thank you, But no thank you. Yes that is what we call it. So here is what this junk is,If you walk out of there with this:):):)on your face, you are wrong. Here are some reasons we did not like it. We went there when it had been 1 month old and it was not busy and it was horrible service. It felt like it was 1hour to get our food,But it was 45 minuets .Oh !Oh !Oh! and the shrimp came out raw,Oh and the bubble tea did not taste like real bubble tea - if there was such a thing as soft serve bubble tea, then that is what it was. Bye, and also remember, Thai Thank You, but no thank you!

My fiance and I have now made the trek past Pho's twice now, heads hung in shame, to pick up takeout from Thai Thank You. The curry is by far the best I've had in Chicago - the right amount of spices, plenty of basil, and fresh vegetables. The red curry with noodles and the panang curry are both fantastic. We also tried their pad thai, which was outstanding, and the pad woon sen, which my man liked but I didn't really care for. With a coupon (on the back of the takeout menu), you get a free order of crab rangoon or egg rolls - we went for the crab, which was crispy without being too greasy - quite tasty. I'm not sure about the table service, but give this place a shot for takeout - it's great!

No thanks... Thai Thank You! So I was driving home last night and happened to have my usual 9 o'clock craving for Thai food (that's totally normal right?). I pulled over and decided that I would try out Thai Thank You! I'm somewhat of a Thai food slut and pretty easy to please.... or at least I thought I was. I only ordered two dishes and thank goodness because that alone was enough of a waste of money. I ordered spring rolls which were totally devoid of any flavor. I suppose if had drenched them in sweet and sour sauce that might have helped in the flavor arena but that's not my style. Also, I ordered a bowl of Tom Yum Soup with chicken. I consider myself to be a Tom Yum consiour since I order it at just about every Thai place I go to so I feel that my review is pretty respectable. And let me tell you, it was simply bland broth, a few measly pieces of chicken, and a few sad tomatoes and onions - where was the flavor and the spice? I like my Tom Yum to be so flavorful it makes my eyes water. And to think that I risked getting MSG poisoning for this....

I really wanted to eat here again to see if my previous review would remain unchanged. Also, I wanted to see how their online ordering system worked and how good their delivery was. Some places are pretty bad about it and it is always nice to know that if you are feeling lazy you can just have them bring it to you and you don't even have to pick up the phone to do it. The online ordering system works pretty well. It gives you nice descriptions of most of the menu items, if not all, and is easy to navigate. It is, however, pretty slow. It isn't slow to the point of frustration, though, and I actually do not enjoy ordering food over the phone so it is just fine for me. My girlfriend and I ordered the vegetable rolls to share. She got the Pad Thai and I got the Pad Woonsen. Both were good, although the Pad Thai was the weakest dish we've had from Thai Thank You. It was a bit dry. Delivery was very quick and friendly. We will be using it again. Thai Thank You is a nice little place to eat in or at home. They are also BYOB, so if you do go, take a bottle of wine and enjoy. If you stay home, still drink some wine.

Eating from Thai Thank You is a lot like Bikram Yoga: It's an experience that only white people would enjoy because they think they're doing something culturally diverse. I hate to do reviews of places after only one experience, but considering that they opened within 2 blocks of my beloved Pho's, I felt I had to comment. My biggest complaint about any restaurant is when they put the chili pepper icon next to a dish to indicate how spicy it is and then hand me something flavorless. I ordered the Chili Pepper Chicken from TTY not expecting something as spicy as Pho's, but as least something that would cause a sniffle or two. No such luck. I've had black bean soup from Whole Foods that is spicier than this. The chicken was very over cooked and extremely dry. In terms of portion, I'd say there was about 1/3 the meat that a similar dish would have at Pho's. Even if the chicken wasn't overcooked, there was still no flavor at all. The rice was pretty good though, perfect stickiness! I've seen a lot of comments about how nice they are, but I didn't have that experience. It could be written off as an off night for the person who took my order and rang me up. The room is much nicer than the Susie China, so there is something to be said for that. I have no reason to give them a second try as I can walk less than 2 blocks and get much better food at Pho's. But, if you like your food dry and void of spice, stop in to Thai Thank You.

As soon as I saw the Thai Thank you sign go up I needed to try it. I can agree with other reviewers that it was nice to finally see an open business on that stretch of Lincoln. We started off with the pot stickers, very good! Our meals were great, the chicken with veggies and the Pad See Ew were cooked to perfection. Thai Thank You has great prices, but don't expect to take home leftovers, the portions aren't as big as most Thai restaurants in the area. The staff is so friendly and you gotta love BYOB :)

Thai Thank You is the third of probably many more to come Thai restaurants that have opened near the six-corner intersection of Belmont, Ashland and Lincoln. Thai food is great and all, but does there really need to be so much competition? Even Chinese restaurants in this area are starting to offer Thai food! I ordered shrimp pad thai, chicken panang curry, crab rangoon and a mango smoothie for takeout. The crab rangoon was free with an online coupon. The mango smoothie was way too icy, the pad thai was "meh", the panang curry lacked thickness and subtle spicy kick, and the crab rangoon was tasteless and was on the verge of losing its "lotus" form. All of the portions were small. Despite how unimpressed I was with the food, I was impressed with the clean decor, how it's B.Y.O.B., and the exceptionally polite cashier. The cashier is definitely a person to add to my "nice people" list.

7:30pm Thursday. Crappy day at work, so what's for dinner? Thai food, of course! I remembered getting a pretty little menu rubber banded to my door and broke it out. A little online ordering and about 30 minutes later, I had panang curry, beef salad, curry fried rice and free crab rangoon delivered to my door. The crab rangoon was probably the best I've had in Chicago. The beef salad was good as well. If anything, it was a little heavy on the beef. It wasn't quite as "fresh" as I'd like with less veggies and more meat, but still very good. The panang curry was fantastic and so much! There was so much chicken that it'll definitely be split into two meals. The curry fried rice was okay, if a little too light on the spice. Since there was so much panang left over, though, we just spooned some over the curry fried rice, and it was perfect. I live close, so the delivery was fast and the food was hot. I will definitely be ordering again soon!

I walk past this place on the way home from work, and at 9:30pm, after a long day, nothing sounds better than not cooking and picking up some Thai to go, so inevitably, this place had me in the door within a month. I was greeted by an adorable young woman who asked if I had a take-out order, and when I awkwardly asked to place one and wait, she was very friendly and brought me out some water. She said it may take 15 minutes, but I had my food in 10. Quick and reasonably priced, very friendly. I got the basil fried rice, and let me just warn you, if there is a little picture of a pepper next to your dish, proceed with caution. I stupidly thought that in a dish full of red bell peppers, the green pepper was also a bell. It was a near-death experience. But everything I could taste before that point was delicious.

These folks are so nice and they deliver some great food. The pad kee mow is ta-dow! I think it is a family owned place and the whole family works there. The guy who i think is the patriarch of the group is super nice and says every english word in total soprano. Super nice folks and very good food. Even went in once for lunch and service was phenomenal...i was the only one there, but it was great.

We have been ordering this for 5 years! We get the same thing everytime....chicken pad thai, pad khee mao and steamed shrimp shumai. The crab rangoon is also delish! We have never actually eaten in the restaurant because the take-out is so good. Plus there is not much around the location other than Xsport and whole foods so I think that is why they aren't usually busy. I highly recommend this place...the food is delish, the delivery is always accurate, and they are super friendly. It is our Sunday night go to----definitely try it!

I don't understand why this place isn't that popular. The food is really good! I love Thai food so I have been to many Thai places to find which place is my favorite. I have to say this is my favorite spot. There are so many good Thai dishes besides pad thai, so I push myself to try new dishes and now instead of pad thai, I love pad bamee (stirred fried egg noodles with meat and veggies). Whatever they put in it, it's amazing. They balanced the sauce, salt and sugar to perfection and just makes you crave for more. Something simple with noodles, vegetables and meat and they make it phenomenal. My boyfriend ordered chicken lard nar and not only did he finished it, he drank the rest of the excess sauce off the plate. It was that good.

Pretty good delivery Thai here. I usually order the same thing every time I have thai. That being said, I've had all those dishes many times from many different restraunts. Everything I had was up to par. Noodles were perfect, curry had a nice zing, and the som tum was spicy as all hell, just how I like it. Really damn good. Quick delivery. It really hit the spot! I'll order again. Maybe a little more spice in the red curry next time. George like his chicken curry spicy.

Nasty. Everything tasted over-fried and stale. The crab rangoon tasted like it had been sitting in a deep drier for an hour. I still can't quite get the after-taste out of my mouth. The edamame looked old and withered - and tasted as it looked. I will not be ordering from Thai Thank You again.

I went here for some take out on a Friday night when I had no dinner plans. I thought it was a bad sign that on a Friday night there was only one table of two in the restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised!! I ordered steamed potstickers and vegetable pad thai (two of the most unadventurous thai foods to order) and both were delicious. Plus I loved the online ordering...an easy way to avoid an awkward phone call. Maybe since I had some simple food it was good, but I will definitely be going back to see if the next order lives up to the last. If not, then maybe there will be an explanation for the vacancy that is always there every time I walk by. I don't get it.

Certainly not a bad thai option, but with Pho's right up the street it's not gonna make it as my first choice.

Walked in here to grab a bubble tea on my way to a manicure. There is a 10 dollar minimum to use a credit card which I didnt like (I never have cash on me but thankfully someone who had owed me money gave me cash that day so I was still able to make my purchase). The place was pretty empty around 5:30 when I went, and the service was still slow. The bubble tea was way too thick (I got it frozen and blended) but it was still tasty. Didnt order any food, but it seems like your standard chinese restaurant.

This place is fantastic. I've ordered take out and dined there at least 5 times and every time the food has been delicious. I love both the Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups. I've gotten the Pad Thai just about every time with the exception of last night when I chose the green curry...LOVED IT! I asked for it mild and it still came out pretty spicy so beware. The service is great and I love the BYOB aspect. There is a Whole Foods a 1/2 a block away and you can grab a bottle of wine or some beers there.

Perhaps it's personal taste, but I like a little punch with my thai food. Unfortunately, I found Thai Thank You to be rather bland. Sauce was watered down and the amount of meat left some to be desired. In fact, I ordered extra meat for $2.00 and it still didn't have a lot of meat to it (I doubt there was even a full chicken breast in my dish and that is with the extra meat I ordered). The delivery was quick and nothing was screwed up. Portions were small though compared to a competitor such as Penny's. I was hoping this would end up being a nice Thai place, but there are simply too many good alternatives in the area to bother.

The Edamame was cold, old, and 2 of the beans were rotting. It was gross. Cucumber salad wasn't much more that shredded carrot and a little cucumber, no sweet vinegar and no flavor. 2 orders of Curry and both were good but for some reason they didn't come with rice. Who doesn't send rice? 4 dollar delivery charge and the driver still hit me up for a tip. Skip this place, it won't be in business for long.

I love thai thank you. I get basically the same thing every time I go because it's so good. The crispy panang noodles with chicken and they're delicious. I also love the crab rangoons. I would like to make more recommendations but these are the only two items I've had but they knock it out of the park on these. I order for pick up and delivery mostly and have never dined inside so I can't comment on service but delivery is ALWAYS quick

  • Frances A.

Ordered food for pick up. Requested extra lime... Guess what i didn't get - extra like. Scrimped on the peanuts in my pad Thai too. Shrimp was extra, naturally, bit there were only 3pieces!! Dry, super dry, just dry.

I came here for dinner Friday for a friend's birthday. I was surprised by how empty the place was. This is a solid Thai resturant. The staff is so nice, friendly, and helpful. It seems like they really care about their customers. The space was comfortable, clean, and nice. The food is delicious and inexpensive. Among the 3 of us we had crab rangoon, chicken potstickers, Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Basil chicken, and our total pre tip was $30. I didn't try the Panang curry, but it looked good. Everything else I can tesitfy did taste good. The basil chiken was a bit spicy, but I loved it. It had a good amount of vegetables, chicken, sauce, sweet and spicy flavor. Now that I'm writing this review, I could really go for more of this. Oh,and the food was all a good size. They don't skimp. Oh, and bonus they are BYOB!

I have ordered on grub hub for here and it has never surprised me besides how quickly it is delivered. The food is okay... Nothing extraordinary about it. The orange chicken barely has chicken. The pad Thai was not very good and they used skinny noodles. So far the old things I've enjoyed are the smoothies and the fried rice. Basically, they aren't the worst but aren't the best.

My girlfriend and I love this place! It's a perfect neighborhood Thai restaurant: good food, inexpensive, laid-back. The owner is very friendly and recognizes us now that we've been going there since we moved to Roscoe Village. I like their curries and that's what I usually get. I also love grabbing bubble tea smoothies in the summer. The restaurant is comfortable and nice, although it seems most people get take-out. I definitely recommend more people try it out, especially those who live nearby!

Amazing portions! I'm on my third meal of crabmeat fried rice right now, after getting delivery on Friday. Prices are good, portions are great. The steamed vegetable potstickers are very tasty. Pad Thai is pretty good (on the sweeter/oranger side, which is not quite my preference, but still good).

Ridiculous restaurant name aside, we really enjoy delivery from Thai Thank You. Oh, well, you're welcome. The food is always consistent, comes hot and fresh from a guy that is REALLY excited to bring the food to us. He's always super ebullient and in a mood so hilariously upbeat, I usually can't help but chuckle as he's singing his "hello's" and "how are yooooooooou's". My beau loves their Duck Curry while I'm more of a Bamee Garlic Noodle kind of gal. We agree on their Crab Rangoon and Tom Kha and call it a day. A Thank You day. Because shouldn't they all be?

  • John B.

The food is good but careful ordering delivery. They put my food in a Styrofoam container, noodle dish, which was very hot...by the time the food got to me all I could taste was Styrofoam and had to throw out the food.

This is my go-to Thai place which is right around the corner from me! I always love my food (I can't help it, I usually get the same thing every time...spicy basil leaves with shrimp, crab Rangoon...so good!). They are always friendly and food is always fast and fresh. The crab Rangoon is the best I've ever had. I feel that their food is lighter than other Thai places, not as greasy which I love! We've also had the sesame chicken which is delicious but you might want to add extra chicken if you are really hungry (my husband does this). My only complaint is the consistency and my reasoning for not giving 5 stars. Sometimes I find an added veggie that isn't supposed to be there or missing veggies (no mushrooms??) without a heads up from them and sometimes I get an enormous portion and sometimes it's a bit on the light side. It's always tasty but disappointing at times when they don't get it right.

Phenominal Crab Rangoon! Im a thai food queen so I am very picky with my orders but Thai Thank You never upsets me! Hot food and fast delivery! Their Crab Rangoon is so delicious and their pad thai is really tasty!

The food is good...i LOVE the sticky rice with mango! now on the other hand.... I just just got my food delivered and the delivery driver was EXTREMELY rude, he had the nerve to ask for more of a tip!! When i told him no he threw the bag at me and said forget about it and walked back to his car. Im sorry but im not gonna tip more than 20% for a 20 dollar order, its delivery for christ sake! He was asian with spiky hair and thick black rimmed glasses. So disrespectful!! After i wrote this review the owner of Thai Thank You personally reached out to me and apologized about my experience. Not only was he super apologetic but he let me know that he suspended that driver AND offered me 2 entrees on the house that I can redeem at anytime. Now that is great customer service and totally appreciated so im changing my 2 star review to 5 stars!!

Wow! We have been trying all the Thai places in the Bucktown area, looking for a go-to place. Our search is over! Green curry is creamy and spicy and full of veggies. Free crab rangoons. Prices in general are super reasonable.

YUM! I'm a huge fan of Thai food and definitely very selective when it comes to where I get it from. This place is great! I'm a huge fan of grub hub and Thai Thank You tops my order list. Pad thai is awesome, green curry is deeelicious with just enough, but not too much, spice and you can't go wrong with their vegetable spring rolls, so yum! Plus, if you spend over $20 you get a free side of edamame which is an excellent bonus :) The delivery is always super quick and if we're lucky we get the cutest older man who I think might be the happiest person on this planet, definitely in Chicago.

Sometimes it's painful to have to give a restaurant one star. But in this case two stars would be too generous. First let me start by saying the lovely lady that served us seemed frazzled and overworked. She was not only waiting tables, but taking phone orders, too. After she took our order, which was a good 25 minutes after we sat down, she literally ran back to the kitchen to tend to something else. Yes, she bolted across the restaurant, running to the kitchen. Odd. So my friend and I chatted with some of the tables around us. One table of folks was waiting and waiting on their food. Once the food arrived they told us it was cold. Our food came piping hot, but it wasn't very good. I ordered veggie rice noodles with basil leaves. Rice noodles and vegetables seemed pretty harmless. I expected this to be a savory dish, but it was actually sweet. Really sweet. Like sticky sweet. My friend ordered a yellow curry which she squeezed lime all over to give it flavor. After the meal I didn't feel so well. I'm not at all crying food poisoning, it's just that the sticky, sweet, starchy noodle combo wasn't a hit with my belly. We had a Restaurant.com coupon, and the man who came back with our check was very abrupt and cranky about us having this coupon. Geez. What's up with this place? Unfortunately there was nothing really good about it. I didn't even want to take home my leftovers. Dang, I usually love my day-after Thai. Not this time. For me it's Thai No Thank You.

Fast and friendly service. I love Thai food. I don't complain much. The food was awesome. Except for the spring rolls, which were just kinda small and dry and kinda meh. That's my only gripe. You should still go here. You should also floss on a regular basis.

Ordered from here once before, and enjoyed it, so I decided to order again. Really disappointed with the second order. I ordered from them via Grub Hub and they delivered me rice with really large blue clumps of mold in it. I'm not talking a little bit of mold, I'm talking blue cheese-looking rice that smelled pretty bad. With the health concerns associated with mold exposure, I will never order from here again. To add insult to injury, they also only refunded me $3. I would just recommend caution to people ordering from this place in the future, as the presence of mold in my food could mean the restaurant isn't practicing proper food storage and handling methods.

I stopped in here for a late lunch (around 3pm) to kill time before my nail appointment at CiCi's up the street. I ordered the Nam Tok and the Green Curry with tofu. I don't know if the people complaining that this place's food is bland were there on an off night, or if the chef this afternoon is just one of their better cooks, but both were surprisingly and pleasantly spicy, and generous with the beef (and tofu). I thought the prices were reasonable, comparable to most Thai places in town and the portions were larger than I expected. I suspect that like every other restaurant in the city that offers a lunch special, the portions are smaller if you order that instead of a la carte like I did. I was the only one in the restaurant, but the girl working behind the counter was friendly, and as attentive as I would've wanted her to be. I don't really know this neighborhood, but I would consider going back to this place.

ok, so the food isn't authentic, I know that. Its a little americanized. However that does not mean they don't make great food. I usually order online for delivery, they are fast and courteous. And the man who does the deliveries is this adorably sweet old man who will make you smile with his sing song delivery voice. The family that runs the place is delightful.

My honey was in the mood for some thai, and whatever honey wants.... Ordered online, which was a straightforward process, they have pretty good coupons, which thankfully were easy to use with the online ordering. The menus is simple, and since we were both hungry, we were not too adventurous. We got three appy's and two entrees, and overall very happy with our order. Edamame - the usual, as long as they're hot and salty I'm good. The crab rangoon, while a little light on the crab, provided lots of crunch and flavor. The egg rolls were good also, albeit a little greasy. Kudos to Thai Thank You for the way they package their fried goods, nothing was mushy! For entrees the spicy seafood and duck curry were on deck. from now on to be known as Yum and Yummer. The spicy seafood was loaded with shrimp, crab and veggies, which I tried, but my honey ate with relish (the verb, not the noun). My duck curry rocked! I loved all the pineapple goodness with the moist duck. There was just enough heat to keep it interesting, without me having to reach for a cold compress. For everything we ordered we got a free side of fried rice which rounded out the meal nicely. And finally the thai custard provided the final touch of sweet to a really good meal. I hope we get to actually come and visit this place, as it's a byo, and not expensive at all, there is only 1 (one!) entree in double digits, and that only barely (10.95).

We went to "Taste of Lakeview" on Lincoln Ave. a few days ago, and were very disappointed with the food options so we ended up at Thai Thank You. On a Saturday night, at 8:00 PM, the service was great, friendly, fast. The lighting was nicely dimmed, the décor clean looking, with fresh flowers on the table. The water was constantly refilled, the wait was about 10 minutes, most tables taken. The menu has nice pictures and the prices are great. I ordered the Whole Butter Fish from the Specials and it was the best fish I ever had!!! My husband had the Beef Salad and he found it good, authentic, with just enough spice and kick. We left with a very satisfied feeling and we returned two days later to confirm our experience. Monday evening at 8:00 PM most tables were occupied and they apologized as we sat down for being understaffed but the food came out in less then 10 minutes and it was great. The Duck Curry is Excellent, the Pad Thai Good, the Oyster Pancake huge and delicious. This is our new favorite Thai spot and I can't wait to go back for more. Than you, Thai Thank You!

Well, it's the most politely named Thai place I've been to, and less presumptuous than Yes Thai. But, they seemed to be unable to make food that was even a little bit spicy and the portion I got seemed rather small. The service was also pretty bad, especially for how slow it was. For me it was more of a Thai, no thank you.

Thai green curry with tofu is one of my favorites. I have tried it with chicken but it is much better texturally with tofu. I love that you have enough for leftovers. The papaya salad is also amazing if you're dining in but I have found that when it is delivered it lacks something.

Update. It got better. If possible, the appetizers (crab rangoon, shrimp rolls, calamari [tempura-battered!]) were even more phenomenal than before. Also, NICEST DELIVERY DRIVER EVER. Seriously. Check this place out. I don't want it to go away.

Thai Thank You is located in the restaurant that used to be Susie China. They've done a fine job remodeling the space. It feels so much cleaner and cheerier in there now. The food is a solid step up as well. We sampled the pot stickers, Thai rice soup, ginger chicken and pad khee mao. Everything was delicious. The pad khee mao was definitely on the mild side, so if you are a fan of heat be sure to request it hot. The service was fantastic, maybe even the best part. The nephew of the owner was one of the servers tonight and he was seriously one of the best servers I have ever encountered. The only downside of the meal was that, as I sat eating my delicious dinner, I couldn't help but feel as if I was cheating on Pho's. But with each tasty bite the guilt faded more and more...

I live right around the corner from Thai Thank You, and it's always my take-out place of choice when I don't feel like cooking. The yellow curry is sooooo good, but so is everything else I've tried there. It's pretty inexpensive, and best of all, it's BYOB! I don't think they charge a corking fee either.

Last night I tried the bubble tea and usually I'm not a huge fan because it tastes watered down but not at Thai Thank You. They made me and my sister this caffeinated bubble tea that was quite delicious. I would have to say better than in Chinatown. It was also my sisters first time at Thai Thank You and she absolutely loved the crab rangoon and the chicken pad thai!

Wandered in on a Saturday evening, as I had meant to try this new place out. The place smells looks and smells fantastically new, and there were not many other diners there when we were . Hopefully, things will change and business will pick up: it deserves to! Service was prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious and fresh. Try the pad bamee or the combo fried rice- they're excellent . The portions are great without being ridiculous, either (don't get me wrong, they're still enough to make big, fat 'murrikans happy!). I tried the crab rangoon and they were also quite delightful . If you're looking for high quality food fast and don't want to pay an arm and a leg, check our Thai Thank You. I'll definitely be back!

I hate to admit this but I love love love food. I can actually count on one had the number of places that I have looked back on and wanted to vomit after I have eaten there and this is one of them. They lied to me on the phone saying they only use white meat chicken and what I got definitely wasn't. It smelled bad. Just awful. Do not come here.

Thai Thank You opened up just down the block from us, so we decided to try them out on a Monday night a couple weeks ago. We ordered online and went to pick it up in the restaurant. It was ready quickly, and the lady was friendly. It was a pretty nice interior -- totally dead, though. No people whatsoever. The food was pretty good. The problem is that everything, for us, falls short of Noodles in the Pot. But we still enjoyed it, and I'm sure we'll go back.

We order from here very very regularly. The owner is often the delivery guy and is very kind. The food is always hot fresh and tasty. A while back I spent a little over a month backpacking in Thailand and developed such a taste for the food that I have to have it at least once a week. My favorite thing here is the basil fried rice. My husband likes the basil duck. We have tried other things on the menu and have NO complaints but often wind up with our old favorites. We have never been inside the place, always had delivery but our daughter says the pad thai is even better when dining in. She has been a few times with friends. Once our Thai pepper steak seemed significantly skimpirer than usual. We made a mention of it and they remembered us and brought us an extra one on our next order! I am not a big fan of their soups but I have found when you order out soup rather than dine in, its never as good. I think thats a soup problem not a quality problem on their part. My whole family loves this place and we will continue to order again and again. ---------------------UPDATE----------------------- I wrote this review 3 years ago and gave it 4 stars. Now I give it 3. I do not know if they changed owners, cooks or recipes but it has been different for almost a year and not as good as it used to be. Delivery is still lightning fast but the quality of the food has gone down and I really don't know why 2nd UPDATE******************************* I really used to love this place. I do not know what has happened, I have no idea but it has gone down hill again and I am knocking to 1 star. I am so disappointed. We have given them SO much business over the last 6 years (seriously a lot) but from here on out I will be looking for a new Thai restaurant. This last go around was almost inedible. I feel like a traitor but I just can't anymore.

Food is great, I like the crab rangoons and the garlic chicken and noodles. I always order online which is super convenient. The delivery dude is friggin hilarious with his wacky HELOOOOOOO. Anyways, I can't comment on the ambiance of the place cuz I have only ordered delivery, but the delivery driver is worth 4 stars alone.

Thai Thank You has the friendliest and funniest delivery guy I've ever had in Chicago. He's so charming and nice! I have only ordered takeout and have found the food to be consistently good every time. The crab rangoon is the best I've had in Chicago. I also like the spicy basil leaves entree with chicken (good white meat) as well as the Pad Thai and Lard Nar. The portion size is good relative to the inexpensive cost. This is now my go to Thai delivery place!

We tried Thai Thank You a few nights ago and have found our place for Thai! The service was fast and friendly, the food was perfectly prepared (with just the right level of spice), and the prices were extremely reasonable. We were surprised the dining room had such few people, but there was a steady stream of take-out orders. We will definitely go back!
