Good Mexican restaurant although they need to improve their customer service...NO "good morning or Hello" ..Just very blah..!!! My boyfriend and I waited for about 10 mins before any of the 3 waitress took our order... and mind you there was about two or three families having lunch and 3 waitresses on duty ....and we still waited. They have good gorditas and a good breakfast menu...I would like to see them improve their coffee. The coffee seems to be watered down... but over all I prefer my experience in the morning then I would had during the evening.

This is a hole-in-the-wall family joint restaurant. It's kind of a cramped space, but very cozy. I go with close friends to just eat really good food for really cheap. They serve the best gorditas! The chicken is juicy, mixed in with sauteed onions and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Squeeze a bit of lime and eat with the pickled spicy carrots provided. It's so heavenly...and greasy. I like to drink it with cool agua de horchata! The carne asada is great too, though the portion may be a bit small. But remember, an entree and drink amounts to less than $5. Well worth the trip for some good Mexican food.

The gorditas here are very good,the best i've tried in the city and they are affordable.They have another location on 51 st and kedzie.THE BEST DEAL THEY HAVE THOUGH IS CHICKEN BREAST TORTA with mayo(sounds gross but tastes great),avocado,jalap,and lettuce and tom. with a can of pop for $4.50 can't beat that!

I hadn't been to this place in a really long time (not sure why), but decided to go back for Saturday Brunch. The place wasn't over crowded at all...I mean, we were able to find a table right away. All three gals had chilaquiles...watch out for the green ones - they're HOT! What I like about La Haciendita that other Mexican restaurants don't do is include potatoes with all breakfast entrees - that means you get rice, bean (these are vegetarian FYI), the main course, and potatoes. As you can imagine, the plate is piled high. The people next to us had gorditas that looked really good. I'm definitely going back to try them too. The only complaint is that waitresses failed to refill my coffee cup - I literally had to hunt them down to get their attention. But they made up for it by going around and offering their dessert selections in a platter for people to see.

I used to frequent this place quiet a bit before but I haven't been there in a while. I used to always order steak gorditas from here. I agree with the previous review it does get packed on the weekends. Its a nice place to go to grab some delicious Mexican food. The area can be a little sketchy during the night time.

Pros and Cons: Pros *Good Quality Food* *Solid Portions* *Awesome Tequila Bar* *Extensive Menu * Cons *Lazy Waitresses* *Slooooooooow Service* *Discrimination against Tacos,Tortas,and Burritos* There is another Haciendita on 5151 S Kedzie Ave however neither are numbered one or two unlike say a "Comales"and as the waitress here informed me this is more "restaurant" as opposed to the other location which is considered a standard taqueria. Their in lies the problem, If you choose to order a taco,torta or burrito be prepared to wait unlike the other Haciendita on Kedzie where they serve you said items in a fair and timely manner. However in this restaurant it takes forever for a simple item! No joke the last time I came here along with my family it took 20 minutes for my burrito to arrive! Which was inexcusable I mean come on the burrito is nothing more than a glorified taco on crack which is cool but it should not take 20+ minutes for it to arrive nor make. When the burrito came I was relived and pleasantly surprised at it's size, believe me this burrito is packed with meat and since I ordered it "combinado" which is basically a burrito that is stuffed with two different meats and in my case it was beef tongue and carne asada. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked and the vegetables where fresh but they did not overshadow the meat which is important in an artery clogging burrito. The dinner plates here are inexpensive and varied as opposed to the other location which has overpriced and under portioned plate options and also unlike the other location this place gives you free chips and salsa! They suck and taste very stale but hey it's better that paying two bucks a pop for the same thing at the other location. Back to the service yeah it's slooow even with a half empty restaurant the waitresses here take their time for example: five minutes to attend you and bring you their crappy chips and modest salsa:five more minutes to take your order and or bring your drinks:then ten to twenty minutes for your tacos,tortas, or burritos that is unless you order a dinner plate. That's right prepare to be discriminated if you order a simple taco,torta, or burrito but if you order a plate of something anything lo and behold you get it almost immediately well seven or eight minutes but it's still a huge difference when compared to the standard tacos etc. It's sad that the service is so lackluster because this place is actually really delicious and the decor is a mixture of a cantina and traditional Mexican but with a subdued but relaxing atmosphere thanks in large part to the fact that it's caters to families and other working class individuals. Don't worry there are no drunken idiots here since I'm quite sure they water down the alcohol well except the beer. The parking is also a mess especially on a busy weekend so if you plan on coming here plan accordingly and if you don't speak Spanish don't worry just look at the menu and do like Russian roulette and hope for the best. Verdict: If you want tacos,tortas or burritos go to the other location on 5151 S Kedzie Ave but if you want a good dinner plate with good flavor and solid portions(and good prices) come here but with horribly lazy and slow waitresses and service it could test your patience so consumer beware. No go and have a taco you deserve it:)

In the corner building at the intersection of 47th St. and Christiana Ave. The interior decoration is very good. In the rear there is an elevated dining area with red walls underneath an arched ceiling. At the front between the entrance and the kitchen door is a countertop structure designed to look like a roadside stand in Mexico. They have an ATM and a jukebox in the main section. Some of the artwork is kind of generic paintings that are produced for the purpose of decorating Mexican resturants. But they also have some original works by local artists, which included some woodcut print portraits of Pancho Villa and other famous generals of the Mexican revolution. The enchiladas with mole were quite good and in an authentic style. Prices are good considering the quality and quantity of the food you are getting. Tortillas were thick and crunchy. Slightly awkward moment in that the waitress who came to the table is clearly not accustomed to speaking English, so she went to get the woman at the front counter to take the order instead. Maybe I should have told her it's OK to speak in Spanish because what she was trying to ask me was simple enough. Also I agree somewhat with previous comments that it's hard to get the attention of the staff, there were three waitresses on duty which was more than enough for the mostly empty space, but they all seemed listless and indifferent. Eventually I gave up and walked to the front counter to ask for the bill. The clientele at that time was exclusively Mexican working-class and middle-class people from the nearby area. Some high school soccer players in uniforms also came in. This is a popular and good place in the neighborhood.

Really good, tough to complain. It's a typical small taqueria with a menu that, while not extensive, is enough to fill you up pretty quickly. The food's really good, the "sopes" are awesome, and the salsa is tasty enough (my tolerance for ultra-hot biases my taste buds). I usually get the burritos without cream (makes it less juicy so it holds together longer), I ask for "tacos de carne asada" with only cilantro and onions (cuz you get more meat that way & it reminds me of street tacos in Mexico), and maybe some jalapeños "dorados" to spice it up even more. La Haciendita is IMO better than the other quick taquerias in the neighborhood. Elia's down the street has started to taste too average, Manolo's is always running out of one thing or another, Atotonilco tastes average, and that one way down near 59th in the plaza is more after-clubbing quality. Plus Haciendita is open 'til 1am most nights. Sunday mornings are incredibly busy. Try to stay away from the salt/pepper shakers or you can wipe down some things before you use them. There's a lot of rampant toddlers in there sometimes and you know how babies like to put their mouths on everything. Sorry Haciendita, but you know how it is.

This place is your typical Mexican looking eatery. We get our table and we are brought menus. Sometime later (wait staff is not too attentive) we get chips and salsa. Mind you, it is Sunday, it is busy. The chips are stale and the salsa is OK at best. This should have been our clue to leave. We are hungry. It's been a long day, we stay. Orders are typical, easy enough. Tacos and tortas, and a burrito. We are now brought a green salsa on addition to the red salsa served w/ the chips. YAY green salsa, not even I can mess that up! Wow it is horrible! The carne asada is bland and over cooked. My burritos tortilla is so over cooked it is like a cracker. We now see the table across from us get a bin of pickled carrots, so we ask can we get some? Her response is you have to ask we don't just put them on the table. Um that is what we are doing...asking for some. With living in the Little Village maybe I'm spoiled but this was the worst experience I have ever had. Next time the chips and salsa are not good, I won't be sticking around for the rest.

La Haciendita has potential... there gorditas and tacos are good but platillos could definitely improve. My BF likes the place but isn't his first choice. I call it the 'chill spot" the times we've gone it's been empty so we get great service. Definitely not our favorite Mexican place but will do.

This restaurant makes mexican food the way it should be- good! They have an extensive menu from tacos to stews to dinners for a great price. It's mostly packed on the weekends, but you'll eventually be seated in minutes. They serve alcohol, fresh fruit shakes, and the decoration is very cool, sometimes they have local art on display. The only negative for me is the location, I only go when in the area; and although it's on a busy street I some how always find parking!

OUR FAMILY GO TO for quick bites, late night carryout, dinner and alcoholic drinks or just a nice family dinner. Food is fresh and they have a healthy menu which is great for a mexican restaurant, you really don't see that at alot of places. They take debit/credit cards which is great and the food is not that expensive. Clean place, practical prices, my kind of place. We always stick to tacos, tortas or burritos here, but will definitely mix it up soon in the future. Great atmosphere.

I actually found this place by accident when I was headed to another restaurant but got turned around so I ended up here. I really didn't know what to expect from this place because of the mixed reviews but I'm glad I took a chance. I have been here twice already that's how much I liked this place. The prices are reasonable and they gave a few of my favorite Mexican Restaurants a run for their money. There was a bit of a language barrier between me and my waitress the first time I went but we got things figured out. I had a burrito the first time with avocado, sour cream and cheese. I did think it was only .50 extra but each ingredient was .50 but that still kept the food at a great price point. I want to say $6.50 and it was stuffed with steak as well as piping hot. My daughter got the Taco Dinner which came with beans and rice it was so flavorful and that was only $7.50. I also tried the Margarita $6 (which I was told it was strawberry but it wasn't I still don't know which kind it was) but it was Excellent the bartender didn't skimp on the liquor and it came in a big glass. My daughter had the Tequila Sunrise $5.50 the glass wasn't as big but it was still good all the same. I also loved the homemade salsa and chips....very spicy and very good. The only thing I didn't like was when I tried to get a small container to take the rest of my salsa home I was told that it would be $2...I don't know if she thought I wanted an entire new order so I just ended up pouring the rest on my burrito I was taking home. The second time I went it was to celebrate my birthday and it was so worth the train ride to the place...the great thing is I was better able to communicate with the waitress. We started off with a Steak Taco and it was only $1.99 again just so good. For the main course we had La Tampiquena which is grilled skirt steak served w/enchilada, grilled onions and jalapeno peppers for only $12.95...now this wasn't the best skirt steak I have ever had but it very flavorful and I would order it again. This time I really did have the Strawberry Margarita which was made with real Strawberries that was treat. It wasn't as good as the first one I had but it was still good especially if you like strawberries. They are open 7 days a week and they do except credit and debit cards but you have to spend at least $10. All in All my experience here was wonderful, the staff was great and the food reasonably priced and oh so Tasty. I will be back for sure. If you are in the neighborhood I say give them a try I'm so glad we did! Enjoy!

I've been back a few times. I do like the strawberry banana shake. Ordered a carne asada torta and the bread was so soft and fresh. I wished they didn't cut up the steak as it kept spilling out so it was hard to eat. The salsa that comes with the chips are warm and pretty good. Think I'll try a different torta and shake next time.

My go to place when I want fast mexican food. The food is great, im stuck on the cheese enchiladas with red sauce. Their carne asada meal is awesome very filling.

I'm always looking for good tongue tacos and this place fits the bill. The meat is cut in chucks abd is always moist and flavorful. I usually order to go and so far they haven't messed up my order, unlike most other places where I end up with steak tacos instead. (I've just learned to always check my bag before I leave.)
