this had to have been the worst chinese food i've ever had. let me preface this with: 1. as a teenager i worked at a chinese restaurant which caters to white folk, so i can appreciate good white folk chinese food 2. that being said, i know good chinese food in chicago (everything from down and dirty chinatown, like lao szechuan or three happiness, to high end opera or red light) we ordered cold sesame noodles, which tasted like elmers glue and peanut essense without any flavor; it was only edible after i added a bunch of soy sauce, sesame oil and sesame seeds...the way it SHOULD be made. then we got hot and sour soup (just nasty, what else can i say) and mongolian beef (the best thing we got, which does not say much, especially because it made us kind of sick) and tofu and vegetables in a spicy garlic sauce (the sauce had way too much corn starch and sugar; pretty much inedible; i plan on trying to resurrect it by straining the sauce out and using the leftovers to make fried rice). what made the experience even more disappointing was that we had an expired menu that said if we ordered over $25, we got free fried rice. i'm still trying to figure out if they did us a favor (even though it's still the deal on the current menu); maybe they saved us from more disappointment, but we should have cancelled al the extra things we got to make $25. anyway, we really should have gone with szechuan house, our second choice (which has great food, a little oily, but much better than this crap!). ugh.

The Thai food is not good. The crab rangoon are ok, very crabby tasting (a little too crabby for me). The chicken curry doesn't taste anything like it should. You can't taste the coconut. It taste like a chicken stew with thick broth. They give you chili paste on the side to mix in on your own. The dish is totally unseasoned. There is no salt or pepper. It just taste like chicken broth with yellow curry powder added. Maybe the chinese food is better. I'm really disappointed.

Best chinese in Chicago. I have only had delivery, but it is always great. I bet most of these bad critiques are of another restaurant called "The Original Tai Tsangs." They are not the same and that place is horrible. This place is amazing. The Sweet and Sour Chicken or General Tsao Chicken is awesome, get the sauce on the side and you will see it is the freshest chinese restaurant out there. The mongolian beef is really lean as well. I love the egg rolls, mu shu pork, anything on the menu is great. Again, when ordering on Grub Hub, make sure it is the Tai Tsang's with the black logo, not the "Original" with a red logo.

So I got the lunch pasta special with chicken/beef/shrimp.... sounded good online (had it delivered) but I was pretty disappointed. There really wasnt much flavor or spice to it at all.... at least I got extra fortune cookies with my order to make up for it. The egg roll was also good, and big! ok back up to 3 stars cause of the egg roll hehe

After living elsewhere for 12 years, I was thrilled to see that Tai Tsang was still here. I was worried that the quality wouldn't be the same as it used to be but my food was as good as ever. The things I missed the most? The Mongolian beef!!! I haven't found better anywhere else... And the egg rolls....

Ordered here from GrubHub last night. It wasn't bad. Husband had the jumbo shrimp fried rice and he really liked it. Served him for two meals. (Not too many shrimp but the rice had a good flavor) I had Lo Mein noodles w/beef, chicken, shrimp, bamboo shoots, shrooms, celery, etc. Really really good. Loved it actually and I was able to have dinner and lunch with the size. The only thing that was horrible were the crab rangoon. They tasted more like tuna fish filling instead of crab. Definitely not the OG crab rangoons I'm used to so they were not a hit. Delivery was RIDICULOUSLY fast. I mean fast! 20 minutes!

Got some food delivered and I definitely won't make that mistake again. We ordered 5 or 6 items of the menu and there wasn't any one of them that I would reorder.

So I ordered delivery here thinking about the type of Chinese ginger soy wings or such would be here, but they are breaded. I know I should have asked, and now it's become an afterthought. The coupon special on there little mail piece had got me interested because I could order $15 worth and get the free wings or egg rolls. I got them spicy it just seemed like breaded deep friend wings rolled in the spicy chili seeded sauce that I could have gotten at the Asian grocery store. I was quiet disappointed as I could have made better, a lot better. The combination lo mein wasn't much to talk about either. I guess I should have known when it's written in the menu as pasta. I also got the Tsang chicken dish which seemed like it was really a slightly more souped up unbreaded sweet and sour chicken. I mean it will do the job for leftovers to take to work, but highly doubt that I'll be ordering there again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
