I want to give a 5-star for food but I gotta give a 4 because of it not always being prepared perfect. A pizza isn't that hard, used to make them in high school so when I occasionally get a pie that doesn't have sauce even and close to the edge or has bubbles, I get a little more peeved than the usual customer. But taste is always good, even if pie isn't always consistent on thickness or topping.

Today I had a taste for some ribs and garlic bread. I've had ribs from here before and they used to be good, not so anymore. The ribs were cooked without sauce which was added afterward. The garlic bread was large enough, but consisted of a dry mix on dried out bread. I guess they didn't want to get the oven dirty by cooking the sauce on the ribs or adding butter to the bread. Out more than $ 30.00 with delivery and taxes. Expensive and not worth it.

Delivery guy was nice. But the females on the phone was extremely rude. They've sent wrong order to delivery but .. Hopelessly, they don't seemed to know how to apologize and tries to solve problem with a manner..instead yells at customer. After dealing w the ladies on the phone, lost a petite of touching the food... postponing it to be tasted until a petite returns.. maybe the next day? ^^' Oh, and says grub-hub's complete pricing at the end of exit isn't correct pricing that they'll be asking you at the door...so be careful! Two stars are for the delivery guy who looked & sounded like he felt bad.. poor guy. Taste of food... ordered couple items, one was cheese fries - cheese seemed to be old?..some white crumbs almost looked feta cheese.. so we tossed it in garbage after trying to pick good parts. Rest of the food is in refrigerator until... later. T.T

Not the pizza I grew up with. New corporate owners and old recipes are gone. I have given them multiple times in the last year to get their stuffed pizzas right and they have been consistently bad. Too bad. 28 years of excellent stuffed pizza is now gone. The search for a new place begins.

Food was okay but ordered through GrubHub and it took an hour and a half at 10 p.m. at night on a Tuesday when the restaurant is less than 15 minutes away. Also, they completely misread my order and put items on it that I specifically asked to be withheld due to allergies. Never ordering from them again!!!

Well made a reservation when we got there we didn't see the person who was in charge of sitting us so we sat ourselves, alone with that I had to go outside to get a menu someone left outside on the table. Then we had to wait for another menu. As soon as we got the menu then here comes are waiter. (Man can we even look at the menu) The drinks were tasty but didn't taste any alcohol. But my pizza was on point. The way of the layout of this restaurant doesn't make sense to me. Don't know about returning.

Do not ever order delivery from here. Ever. Unless you are a masochist who enjoys the pain of having to deal with the staff here. As with other reviewers I have had issues with delivery. Delivery coming late, delivery missing items, delivery without utensils (apparently this is restaurant policy - how am I supposed to eat my pasta at the office? Using 2 pens as chopsticks?). Isn't this what I am PAYING for when you charge for delivery? Food is okay, portions are big, but honestly it is not worth the hassle. Get your food from somewhere you won't have to worry about issues with delivery and where you get utensils to eat your food with.

I order all the time- good food, gret pizza. I guess it only lacks because the pizzas are by far the best thing on the menu and it would be nice if the other things stacked up to the pizza because they deliver late and make preferring easy through grubhub or on the phone. Have yet to get a messed up order but I can't honestly say we've ever eaten inside, only delivery.

Disappointed that every year our school has their 8th grade banquet here, but they never give back to our school. The food is average, but I'm just really disappointed that they haven't given back to the community like other establishments have.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!!! Not many have heard of it because its not really in the heart of Chicago, more like the outskirts. But boy this pizza is amazing. Pan or deep dish, their sauce is just amazing. And if you are looking for somewhere romantic to take your spouse, its very lovely inside with free parking across the street!

This place was good before the rehab of the restaurant and menu. Now it is fantastic! The ambiance is modern with lots of wood with glass accents. The bar looks comfortable and inviting. The classic rock music is nice. Service is good. The food is absolutely delicious! Kids menus are available too. The spare rib is my favorite so far. The pizza is delicious as is everything else I've tried on the menu. A must try!

I originally posted this months ago but apparently an email from Yelp got past me explaining my last review of this horribly managed establishment was removed because I suggested a competitor. I have removed the competitors information and revised my review as follows: I would give zero stars if it was an option. If you don't mind getting your order screwed up about 40% of the time go ahead and order here. If you like being charged for delivery order here. If you like buy one get one free pizza offers well they told me none are available at the time. Why this negative review. The last time they screwed up my salad dressing it was completely oil, as in 99.99 % oil you could not even smell any vinegar in it. I called in and spoke to the Manager, in typical italian fashing he told me he would send new dressing. I said no thanks because i am tired and this one is already covered in oil. He said next time I order just ask for him and he will take care of it. I agreed and was not worried about him making it up on my next order. When I called on another occasion, and mentioned the above the girl on the phone said, all I get is $5.00 off. This is less than the cost of the salad that was ruined with oil. This is not the first time, this place has screwed up our order. Another time we ordered the linguine with with clam sauce to find out the plastic lid shattered in small pieces and ended up in the dish its self. Discovered a clear piece in my mouth. This review will stand until I am contacted by someone who has more business ethics. "Take care of the customer and the business will take care of itself" The opposite can also be said. I shared this review on Facebook. Please share it on your Facebook. This place has come to far on its name. Save money and get a better product at any other pizza establishment.

Bad night at Suparossa. Did they change the recipe? The stuffed was different. We all agreed. Everything was different. The sauce, the sausage, the onions the cheese. We called ahead as usual because the stuffed takes 45 minutes. We got there in about 30 and waited the 15 minutes. When the pizza came to the table it was just warm. We asked about it and the waiter said it just came out of the oven. Impossible. We've eaten here dozens of times and tonight the pizza even looked different. I'm not sure but maybe they used a lower grade cheese. OK. Enough. Sorry, but this pizza is usually great. I mean fantastic. Oh well. I'm gonna write this off as just a bad night for Suparossa. Instead of your usual five stars, tonight you got one. We'll try again in a few weeks before we write you off.

I'm going to start this review by stating that I live four blocks from Suparossa. FOUR BLOCKS. Also want to state that I may be partially biased, because I love me some extra greasy pizza. I've ordered pizza for delivery from Suparossa twice now. The first time I got a large with onions, green peppers, and sausage. Everything was fine. Told delivery would be an hour, delivery was an hour and ten minutes. Let me repeat, FOUR BLOCKS. Pizza was pretty good considering it wasn't as greasy as I typically like. Sausage was tasty, veggies were fresh as pizza veggies can be. The second time I ordered myself a small pizza with black olives, bacon, and ground beef (my favorite.) I'm used to getting ground beef as.... yuno... ground beef. Suparossa has some big 'ol nuggets of ground beef. Ranging in size from large marble, to larger than golf ball but smaller than tennis ball. Kindouv ridiculous. This second time I was also quoted an hour delivery, this time it showed up in 25 minutes. Awesome, now that makes sense since I'm FOUR BLOCKS away. Figured, hell, pizza in 25 minutes? That deserves a hearty tip. Tipped, walk back to feast, opened the box, all of the toppings were smashed to one side. What the hell was he doing, riding a bike with the pizza in his backpack? Who knows. Either way, I spread the toppings out as much as I could, and somehow, only about 60% of the pizza was covered. Got hungry, had to take the pizza out of his backpack and stop to eat some enormous ground beef nuggets to get the energy for the bike ride? Who knows. Too expensive to deal with a fast but jacked up pizza with all the toppings all over the place, and way too close to deal with delivery taking over an hour. Overall, the pizza was pretty good, but too many negatives. Only way I'm eating Suparossa's pizza again is if somebody else is paying.

A great place for Chicago Pizza! So I don't do thin crust pizza in Chicago. That's just blasphemous. It's stuffed pizza all the way! You can get crappy pizza anywhere, but in Chicago, you get stuffed or deep dish. So when you order a Deep dish or stuff pizza from here be prepared to wait (or call and place an order) for about 45 minutes for your pizza. Get some appetizers and a glass of wine and enjoy your company. The staff is very knowledgeable about the wine on their menus and can give you a great recommendation. Everything here comes in large portions, so be prepared to put away some food. The hot wings are REALLY hot! They have their own parking lot and a large restaurant so its perfect for large groups. You can even get here on the CTA, either by the Montrose bus or the Central bus.

This location is totally different from the location on Lawrence ave. The pizza quality is totally different. I would suggest you order from the one located on Lawrence Ave. I ordered from here on my way into town expecting the same quality(ingredients, service, etc.) NOT!! It was horrible. The girl on the phone was rude and the pizza tasted like some regular old dive pizza joint. I dont choose Suparossa for mediocre pizza. I challenge you to try the Harwood Heights/Norridge location. It's not much further and it will be worth it Trust me!!

I have been coming here for years my family loved the food and the service i made reservation for Valentine's day for 8 pm I was very surprised to walk in to a new place was a little hurt cuz i use to come to this place for the memory of my dad but I won't say its wasn't beautiful but boy was I unhappy with the food and service. Got there at 8 didn't get my food untill 10 had to ask for my bread 6 times and then I get burnt bread and we all got all our food a different time and my boyfriend and to send his chicken parmesan back cuz it was cold and and the chicken was hard and chuy so we had to share mine cuz by the time the waitress came back we where all done eating and what I think made me more upset is that I never got inconvenience taken off my bill .it would have been nice when I made reservations that I would have gotten a heads up of all the changes especially of the menu .WILL NEVER GO BACK and I will let all my family know to .very very sad

Just ok, hadn't been here for years, We had gotten carry out menu in our mailbox and decide to call for carry out. the meatballs were not good at all not like i remember having from Suparossa as a kid these tasted like they were frozen then thawed & microwaved. wish when i ate spaghetti & meatballs i would have felt them fond memories from years ago. One good thing was death by chocolate cake wish order 2 of them it so was so good. We might give them one more time to try the pizza but since the pasta was such disappoiment I'm thinking after all these years they let all the food slide.

What a surprise to have been taken to this wonderful, friendly restaurant. The waitress was a big hit...promptly telling me when I was undecided " What do you have a taste for - we will make it for you! "...The food was incredible and the spicey sauce for pasta was out of this world good. The whole meal with two appetizers, wine and dessert was under 80 bucks and the service and food was way better than average. Can't wait to go again.

What happened to the Suparossa I remember as a kid? The only thing worth getting here is pizza. It is ok and eatable although nothing to write home about. The boneless chicken "yummies" are ok as well, but they seem to slather them in cheap high fructose corn syrup laden ridden garbage crap. The dipping sauce is of inferior quality as well. The Italian Beef came dry and tough. The only creature that might eat it and appreciate the Italian Beef is your dog.

The pizza is gross here. There is another Suparossa a few miles away with PHENOMENAL pizza - I don't understand why THIS Suparossa's pizza is so terrible. it made me sick! The garlic and the sauce on the pizza were so bitter! The Chicken Parm is ok and they have ok salads.

I ordered delivery from this place one nght. They deliver later than most places, until 12:30am. I was hungry at 11:30 pm and didn't want to go anywhere. I found this place and they have a nice variety of Italian food here. I had stuffed shells. They were delicious! The food was VERY hot when it arrived. Delivery was about 45 mins or so. I also order mushrooms. wierd combo, I know. But everything was good and I will be ordering again! Another plus is that they have wine and beer for delivery too :)

Having been there now three times, the consistency is there! The third time, though the circumstances were much different, still shown consistency on the dishes we repeat ordered! I've kept my promise that there being a fifth star for consistency and they've held up. This place still remains to be the place for Italian fare in my family and we still keep coming. For further details, please have a look at the previous post before the update.

Well, for years the stuffed and thin pizzas were phenomenal! However, after my last 2 orders I am thinking maybe it's time to say bye-bye to this place. They sent me an antipasto salad instead of an antipasto tray Sunday past. Then on Thursday I ordered this super deal buy 2 sandwiches get 1 free only they sent me the wrong sandwich. At first I didn't mind the antipasto sald but when they sent me the entirely wrong sandwich and it was 2 wrong orders in 1 week I called. I didn't ask for a credit, I simply called to voice my concern. I was treated rudely, called a liar, etc etc not even offered a credit and I felt un-appreciated as a customer. Maybe it's time to call the credit card company and ask for a dispute. I made 2 orders in the same week and I placed previous orders (the man on the phone looked at my history), the least they could have done was treat me politely and just for the inconvenience offer a coupon or something. He didn't even bother, rather insinuated that I was lying. OK, I'll go take my liars $$ somewhere else!! BYE BYE Suparossa!

I'll have to say that 9/10 times we get excellent service. Every so often we get this one waiter who is a little rude but it may just be the cultural difference. Customer service aside the food is awesome! I always get the Olive oil and garlic pasta with shrimp and broccoli. I have yet to find a restaurant that makes one even remotely close to this. At first taste I did not like their pizza but I am definitely a fan now. If you ask for gorgonzola cheese on it, you are definitely in for a treat. We also love the bread and cheese they serve, my kid can't get enough of that! I still haven't tried a dish I don't like.

We had a stuffed spinach and ricotta cheese pizza as well as an order of bread w/ olive oil and parmesan. The delivery was decent and the food was warm. the pizza was very good but not great. i was disappointed that we received a small portion of bread that i felt was overpriced for what we got. the food was good, i will have to try again sometime.

I would say that this place has the best tasting thin crust pizza in the Chicago-land area! Very large sausage chunks, and fresh mushrooms, not the canned type! I have ordered pizza here numerous times. Other foods such as chicken tenders, french fries, and chicken parmesan is just okay.

BEST PIZZA EVER!!!!!!! not only in Chicago, but this is definitely the best pizza in the world. I would consider myself a pizza connoisseur, having traveled and tried the best pizzas in Italy, New York, California, and across the world. I have been a part of a pizza club, pizza tours, and let's just say I LOVE PIZZA! And, this place is the absolute best you can get- the best combination of a great, flavorful sauce, cheesy mozzarella, and a perfect thick crust. THE BEST! I am quite confused by the mixed reviews to be honest, but you can trust me- if you want the best deep-dish Chicago pizza, you can't get a better than this. When I have family come in town, they consistently eat at Biagio's Suparossa Pizza before they come to see me and the rest of the family. The only reason a person would have a negative critique of the pizza would be if they don't like good deep-dish. Otherwise, enjoy and you're welcome for the review. Happy eating! :)

We have been happy every time we have ordered from here! Large portions of pasta at reasonable prices. Tonight we ordered at 5:00 (on a Saturday night) and had our food by 5:35! Can't say enough good things.

I wish I could give them zero stars. Earlier tonight, my boyfriend and I ordered two stuffed burgers and some rolled eggplant via GrubHub. The burgers were absolutely disgusting. They were essentially a pile of cold, crumbly beef with chunks of cheese and undercooked veggies. The meat was too big for the bun, which was soggy and also falling apart. They didn't even get the ingredients right- my boyfriend ordered mozzarella and got cheddar. Basically, they weren't edible. The fries were also cold and soggy. I could have used the bread that came with the eggplant as a bludgeoning weapon. The only food-like part of the meal was the rolled eggplant. Everything else was inedible and disgusting. I called the restaurant and asked to talk to a manager. The manager refused to take my call, and the employee I spoke to was only allowed to offer me credit toward my next order. They offered me a $6 credit. (The burgers were $8 each, and- as I mentioned- inedible.) When I refused, the employee tried to get the manager for me again. After a few minutes, she came back on the line and offered me a $10 credit. Rinse and repeat- this time they offered me a $12 credit. It was getting closer to the price of the burgers, but by this point I was irate, and I'd been on the line over 20 minutes. It was getting ridiculous, so I let them go and called GrubHub. The customer service person at GrubHub had to call me back twice because Suparossa was refusing to refund my order. Eventually, they agreed to refund part of my order. I just wanted to get off the phone by that point. Not only was the food disgusting and inedible, but they have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. In the end, I had to cook myself dinner after going back and forth with Suparossa for an hour.

I'm a softy for this place because I've grown up with it. It's been with me through almost every highlight of my life from graduations to birthdays to family parties, etc. It's also been there for every low light including during my law school days when all I wanted was to wallow in my own self pity and stuff my face with a comforting bowl of pasta. Suparossa has been like a faithful friend. The food has been consistently good. Their pasta sauce has complex flavors with highly pronounced garlic hints and basil. Their pastas are fresh and prepared "just right." Their pizzas are delicious, especially the wood over fired ones they serve in the restaurant. Here's a tip, you can still get the wood over fired pizza to go -- it's not on the takeout menu--but just ask for it by name and they'll happily fill your order. The salads are fresh and crunchy and come with more than enough crusty bread on the side. Service can be spotty sometimes but overall, it's definitely got a homey, warm feeling inside the restaurant. Warning -- you will have plenty of leftovers as their portions are huge and most entrees come with soup or salad! Who wouldn't love that?!

A place i'd heard about via adverts and word of mouth for many years and in nearly 15, had never had Suparossa's pizza....until about a month ago. Wanted to like it (?), no really, it's one of those places you *want* to love but it was mid range or a bit above board. Can only comment on the thin crust pizza and it was tasty but lacking a little in the cheese and sauce dept, just didn't connect and strike the necessary pizza crust/sauce/topping balance. Sat at the bar while I waited for take-out and the staff were friendly and it's a neighborhood 'regulars' sort of place, good ppl.

Pizza has always been good. Have ordered from the Harwood Heights delivery for years. This was not crowded at all though on a Saturday night. Only a handful of people in the joint. We had the anti-pasto salad to start. Huge! My wife and I could barely eat 1/2 of it, and we had it wrapped to go. Stuffed pizza came. Tasted great. Only problem was that it wasn't completely hot on all parts of the pizza. A tad disappointing with no dinner rush. Plenty for leftovers.

We had dinner here the other night, and I thought it was very good. Not mind blowing, but everything was fresh, tasty and served in classic Italian-American portions: gigante. Seriously, I still have leftovers. I have veal parmesan, which was 4 veal cutlets cooked well with plenty of cheese and a very good marinara. We split the antipasti, which was one of the best I've had in a while - everything was very fresh and obviously just sliced. I recommend it. The service was the standout part of the evening. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and even comped us a desert, which was a surprising and delicious gesture. She pretty much sealed our return with that. Good for kids.

I attended a wedding reception in one of their banquet halls last weekend. I was skeptical, because I frequently am of banquet halls, and also because the name kept sticking as Ponderosa in my head. But I was wrong. Sometimes it IS nice to be proved wrong. We had several hours to kill between the ceremony and reception so we went into the restaurant proper at 2pm on a Saturday. It was pretty empty except for a table full of Nuns and a family or two. We ordered their cheapest bottle of Chianti, but they were out, so they brought us their more expensive bottle, for the lower price. Now, that's awesome! We ordered the calamari to munch on. The calamari was really pretty good. Nothing gourmet, but nice and satisfying. Is wasn't overly breaded or fried and the pieces were large and cooked just right (not too chewy and not at all soggy). The fresh bread at the table with e.v.o.o. and Parmesan was really good too. Actually, that bread was addicting! The waiter was sweet and didn't bother us too much, nor leave us waiting too long. Later, at the banquet hall next door I had some really good wedding food. The newlyweds are vegetarian, so their meal was all meatless. Started out with a baby green salad with dried cranberries, on to cheese tortellini soup and followed up with cheese stuffed shelled and grilled vegetables. I was already in food pain at this point, but I couldn't stop myself (stupid lack of will power!) and ate the yummy grilled potato, eggplant, and carrots anyway. I did manage to leave the shells pretty much alone, thank god. I don't know if the bride and groom specified this, but peanut butter ice cream was served with their cake. It was the WORST THING EVER not to be able to eat more than a bite of that, but I was just too full. They also have a free parking lot across the street and good staffing. The open bar was the best part of course. God, I love being a wedding date. If anyone out there's in need of a wedding date...you just...never mind...

Not bad. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but not the worst either. Found Suparossa through Grubhub.com and these folks deliver late, even on Sundays. We ordered a large pan with double mushrooms. The pizza arrived by the promised time and was as ordered. With a little help from some oregano, garlic powder, red chili flakes and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese the pizza was decent. SUGGESTION: This is my main reason for writing this review. If you order pan pizza ask for NO FOIL! I appreciate the fact that they want to keep the pizza warm, but unfortunately the foil stuck to the top of the pizza and we lost a considerable amount of cheese. Again, not bad if you're hungry and its late and you want to stay in your PJs!

WASSSSUP MY YELPERS!!! Alright lets get right to it. Pizza again people sorry bout that I'm going to to have to branch out and eat different food eventually, but give me a break I lived in Las Vegas the last few years( not exactly a mecca for pizza).Once again suparossa was good ate there many years ago was good then and its good now. Had there french fries they were cooked to perfection(well down and crispy) There sandwiches however are just average nothing special. The prices at suparossa are fairly priced. Its funny because my sister live 30 or 40 steps away but we still have it delivered, sometimes the guy walk over how funny is that. Now I have never ate in there so your on oyur own with that sorry.

I really wish I could give Suparossa a five-star rating, because their pizza is probably the best I've ever had in my entire life. (It's all about the cheese...there is just something spectacular about Suparossa cheese. Yum!) However, I generally order carry-out from this place, and they screw up my order more often than they get it right. It's quite ridiculous, actually: They either send the wrong pizza, forget to send a dessert, put shrimp in my fettuccine instead of chicken, etc. And stuff like this happens ALL THE TIME! Also, whenever I have a problem with my order and call the restaurant to have it corrected, they act like I'm the biggest pain in the butt, even though they're the ones who screwed up the order! Bottom line: Suparossa's food is excellent, but their customer service sucks. It may not be worth it to you.

The pizza from here is very good. Has a lot of cheese usually which can be a good or bad thing. Usually get delivery, but have been there a few times as well. Pizza is clearly what they do best. The rest of the menu is pretty good too, but not at the level of the pizza.

Found these guys courtesy of grubhub.com . The ability to order online pretty much ensured that they never got my order wrong. I've found several of their pasta dishes that I love, and they always make it to my place piping hot and not mushy. Unfortunately now that I'm without roommates, their big portions are just too much for me to finish or splurge on. Hopefully when my love life picks back up again I will once again be able to enjoy their tasty linguine w. white clam sauce. Om nom nom!

I can't seem to find a pizza place that I absolutely love in my neighborhood. I've tried a few and they always seem to disappoint me. Suparossa is hit or miss. Sometimes I feel like the pizza lacks flavor. My latest experience was good. I ordered a thin crust with sausage, mushroom and garlic. My husband ordered the ribs. They were tender and yummy. My true test for a good pizza is eating it the next day. We both did and we were pleasantly surprised.

My girlfriends and I visit this pizza joint every two weeks after we get our nails done. We have pizza and a split of champagne. Service is great, food even better. A casual fun spot!!!

I just wasted $40 on the WORST meal of my life! I figured I'd order the Pescatore pizza and the Pasta Pesce so I could have leftovers for tomorrow, but instead I'm throwing this crap away. The scallops on the pizza were so gross that I didn't even bother trying the rest of it. I managed to pick at the pasta, but I couldn't bring myself to really eat it either. Needless to say, I won't be ordering from them again.

I've lived here for 10 years and passed this place many times...I thought it was a "chain" (which I guess depending on how you define chain, it might be - they have a few locations). We went here for the first time last night...parking was hard, we ended up parking on the side streets as their lot - a gigantic lot - was full. Ended up a lot of Chicago marathoners were doing their own private pasta parties there. The service was OUTSTANDING. We walked in (apparently after a rush) and the manager/host looked really frazzled to the point of funny. We sat down and he took our drink order (I think they had just got over a rush) and then bought our drinks for us....ummmm wow. I'm still not sure why, but that was really cool. It was me and my husband, so not like we were getting hit on or anything, lol. Our server was friendly and when she figured out we were chatty, she was too. Just enough, not overbearing. The food was pretty good...not OMG I have to eat here every day for the rest of my life good, but good. We had pasta dishes, it looks like I need to try their pizza though. The ambiance was probably the most "chainy" thing about it, but it wasn't bad. I'd totally recommend a look see - we'll be back. I have a feeling that during the week is probably the best time to go, as the kitchen serves the restaurant, take out and the banquet hall.

Love Love Love their pizza. We usually order the "american pie" or "football" pizza as it is sometimes refered to. Lots of cheese and toppings. Nothing skimpin here! Only downfall is that it seems that when I order on weekdays it's MUCH better and not over cooked...and they are when I order on the weekends. I am assuming there is a cook change or something, but I wish it were more consistant. I DON'T like the cheese brownish and I like lots of it. On weekends it's not as good....but still pleasent. I have eaten inside a couple times too. They have good calamari..and their salads are VERY GOOD. no wilted dry, dead lettuce...it's nice and fresh and very yummy. Their chicken tetrazzini...to DIE FOR! I never had it made that way and it was way good. They bring you HOT bread to your table and have the staple olive oil and parmesan cheese for the bread. The last time I was there however, it was on a week day. I came in with my mother and grandmother. There was only one waiter working...and they had a party in the "party" room. It took them 45 minutes at LEAST to bring out a salad, chicken tetrazzini, and a egg and pepper sandwich. I thought that was a bit rude considering how small our order really was. They kept bringing plate after plate out to the party...but we were left waiting and waiting and waiting. They need to plan ahead a little better when taking in large parties. (not sure if it was problems in the kitchen or the wait staff). if I wasn't in such a hurry...I would have bitched a LOT. But at this point I was late to get my kids from school. I just paid up at the desk and left. However, even with the one bad experience (I've been inside before and haven't had problems) and the sometimes non consistant pizza....I'll still drive all the way to pick up their pizza. (they don't deliver all the way to me).

The only time I've been to Suparossa was when my prof. from Wright took us there to celebrate the end of the semester (Human Bio Summer Session with Janus in case you were interested). For having to deal with 30+ community college students, the food was good, the wait staff attentive, and I will go back, eventually. I'm probably more likely to look into Suparossa for delivery/pick-up (I live less than 5 blocks away) or for their seemingly always packed banquet hall.

Disappointing at best. Service was attentive, but food service was terrible. We ordered a lunch salad and personal pizza with an add on of soup. The soup came right away and was good, as was the delicious bread, but then we waited over a half hour for anything else - and there were only two other people in the whole restaurant. Our waiter came back and told us the pizza would be another 10 minutes, so we said just bring the salad so one of us could eat. This antipasta salad was gross - it was like someone opened a bag of italian lunchmeats and dropped it on top, along with about a half bottle of Wishbone dressing. The pizza took almost another 20 minutes and was not what I expected from a Margherita-style. This had diced (canned) tomatoes, basil that looked to be either old, dried or just plain over-handled and way too much cheese. I expected real tomatoes, less sauce, less cheese - and fresh mozz. would have been nice - and fresh basil. We probably won't be back - the prices on the specials and entrees were really high for this area and given the quality with 4 people in the place, I would hate to risk it when they get busy!

I grew up in this area and I now live downtown. All I have to say is that you will never find a FOOTBALL size pizza to feed a group of people for under $30!!!!! It's a great deal and the pizza is good! When I am ordering for me I like the stuffed spinach and mushroom.

I've been a fan since first trying them at Taste of Chicago back in the '90s. Then I got hooked on the frozen pizzas in the stores. I *WISH* they would make those again! I make the 36 mile trip from Waukegan just for the cheesey goodness of their stuffed cheese & sausage pie. I've been sampling numerous pizzas around Chicago in the last month, but I still come back to craving these. Think I'm going to have to stop typing and order a couple for pick up. Stock up and put them in the freezer. They reheat well too.

The staff here is very attentive. As soon as we got in the door we had many welcomes. This was my very first time here so I didn't know what to expect. I didn't want to eat pizza because that's all I really ate so I chose the jumbo stuffed shells that came really fast. I didn't finish my salad but that's okay, I had enough w/ the huge portion that they gave me. I glanced at the waitress for 1/2 a second and she came to our table right away. Talk about fast service. My kind of place. I will definately come back again and try the pizza next time.

We rushed ourselves through dinner, our own fault, but the wait staff were patient and accommodating. They double checked everything we ordered to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. Good size portions and a clean establishment.

Some of the best pizza in Chicago. I love the ingredients such as their sausage and green peppers. Amazing crust and alway hot upon delivery.

Stuffed pizza at most restaurants is a mere shadow of its former self. NOT so at Suparossa. After many years of being disappointed with other pizzas my husband and I went this past Saturday to try this place again. My husband has been going there since the late 70's (think it was called Nancy's). When we lived in the city and went there often, we always got the stuffed veggie on Whole Wheat crust. And even though Whole Wheat was NOT on there menu, when we asked, they made it! Absolutely phenonimal. Great, thick, ample veggies and cheese! REAL STUFFED PIZZA!! Go there, its "old school" and GREAT!

  • Jason L.

Not terrible, but not the best by any means. Their menu says "famous" and "award winning", however I found nothing special about this food. It was as "run of the mill" mediocre as you can get. OK pizza (cold when delivered), and OK Buffalo Wings. Decent Blue Cheese Dressing. Probably wont order from here again unless i'm in a pinch, doesnt seem like the quality met my standard for the price I paid. $37 including tip and delivery for pizza and buffalo wings? By the way, they are NOT italian, dont let the menu or anything else fool you, Italians do NOT put Spanikopita on the menu, they also don't cut their pizza in squares....Greeks do that!

My family usually will go to this restaurant for special occasions. The service in the restaurant isn't bad, and the food is great. However, the last two times I ordered for delivery my order was messed up and it was quite an inconvenience. The first time, my sister had ordered linguine with shrimp and white wine sauce. The linguine had no shrimp in it and they had to come all the way back out to correct the problem. This was a 30 minute delay in her meal. The second time they had forgot to give us an order of mostacolli which left one of our family members without anything to eat for 30 minutes as well. I probably would have let it slide had it not happened twice in a row. It also didn't help that the person that answered the phone when I called to complain was very snooty.

This is a great little North West side restaurant. I've been here twice now while visiting friends in the area. The waiter starts you off by bringing you bread and a plate of shredded cheese. Combine these with the olive oil at the table and you're in heaven! It's a great start to your meal. In my two visits I've had their cheese ravioli and chicken vesuvio. The cheese ravioli was good, but the chicken vesuvio was out of sight!. It might be the best chicken vesuvio I've ever had! This is a rather unassuming family restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by how good their vesuvio was. This is the best restaurant I've tried on the North West side and I look forward to going back!

Comfort food, and so much of it. The vegetable pizza is fantastic. I enjoy the chicken vesuvio, and the lasagne is some of the best I've ever had. Skip the meat-filled ravioli, but the cheese option is good. It's basic and casual, and you can always get a table. Good service and the host is so friendly - he always recognizes us.

We usually get delivery from here, but we went into the restaurant last night. The pizza is good and the service was fine. I don't think there is anything spectacular about this place, but they provide good pizza on a consistent basis. One thing to note: spinach and mushroom pizza is one of my favorite types of pizza, but I never order it here. For some reason the spinach is weird and clumpy. I don't know if they drain it too much or what they do, but it does not taste good. Go with the broccoli instead. And garlic is always a good addition. While the restaurant was fine, it is easier to get delivery. So, I will probably stick to that from now on.

I've never eaten anything but their thin crust pizza which I tried on a whim. I fell in love. The crust is flavorful but still light, the sauce is the the right amount of spice and the sausage is really high quality, too. Very yummy and I love the on-line ordering option, so easy.

I received a menu in the mail last week and thought I'd give it a try. Horrible, horrible horrible. We ordered via delivery the Antipasto tray, Italian Beef and Lasagna. The antipasto tray was nothing more then four slices of hard salami, fatty bologna, and long past prime prosciutto. There was also a few peperonci, roasted red peppers, sliced mozzarella (low moisture not fresh), cherry tomatoes (old-you could squeeze them and not break the skin) all on a bed of iceberg lettuce. No olives as the menu stated. There were three containers of what I'm guessing was seasoned olive oil. The Italian Beef sandwich was huge but had no flavor. They also dipped it in house instead of sending it on the side. The bun was soaked thru by the time it arrived. The lasagna was nothing to write home. Burnt cheese, over powering Italian sausage flavor and over cooked noodles. The togo container had almost a half an inch of grease in it when I opened it. Yuck. The phone person was very nice as was the delivery guy. The order came very quickly; I just wish the food was acceptable. For the $24 spent ($4 off coupon) it really was overpriced.

In our usual visits to this place we thought of it as a nice, neighborhood Italian-style restaurant. But ultimately, management is responsible for staff and this place has hired a waitress with issues. So we walked out and went down the street to Poretta's, another nice, Italian-style restaurant without the waitress-from-hell.

Their thin crust pizza is awesome. You can eat in for a very fun and lively experience or carry-out. The waiters are very friendly and you can rent a separate banquet/party room at Biagio's next door. I highly recommend their calamari. This place is great for people looking to do something special after a big event, and they always have a very nice mother's day brunch.

again, i hate to review a place that already has great reviews like those here, but as a pizza obsessor, sometimes i find myself in these difficult situations. Suparossa has to be one of the best deep dish/thin crusts around town. I used to eat here all the time and at their location north on milwaukee now closed (actually i think it's called kokonuts now or something). Thin crust - its that typical chicago thicker than thin kinda crust, but they maintain it dry not greasy and soggy. Ingrediants are top notch, fresh cheese, a sweet sauce, but not as sweet as dags, crispy crust for perimeter pieces (not pie but). Deep dish is one of my top 3 in chicago, probably goes, pequods, uno/due, suparossa. Generous portions and i rarely finish more than 2 pieces unless i recently visited secrets. i do a lot of delivery from this location specifically and be warned, you will wait the full hour. good daily specials. good entrees too, veal is ok, but it's medalions and i prefer chops, fish is fresh, etc etc etc. definately not a let down, oh yeah, definately not a budget pizza.

This review is for delivery only. 1) the food was arrived much less than what grub hub estimated. The entire delivery time frame was approximately 35 minutes, from the time that I ordered to the time that was arrived at the door. 2) the food is as good as it gets for somewhere that delivers at 11pm. Options are dwindling as you know. If you are super hungry after retail exhaustion (I'm not talking about shopping; I'm referring to dealing with customers for 8 hours), you need to make a choice of selecting the "best" out of all the secondary candidates. 3) the portions are good. Hubby and I both ordered pasta entrees that come with salad or other choices of yours. For $28 after tax, delivery fee, tip, and online coupon, you know it's pricy, yet I was able to save a portion of it for dinner tonight. 4) Once again, for a foodie like myself, ordering delivery is the last resort to ease my hunger before my life is over (sorry for the exaggeration). I only do it every once in awhile, even during winter time. I would rather walk to get something better than this. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. I will keep this place in mind if I ever use delivery again in the near future.

SO we order from here kind of often: 1) I love the stuffed pizza & quick service! However our last few orders haven't been up to par :( the cost of the meal seems to be different each order- same order each time! The last two stuffed pizzas were soggy and just doughy! The thin crust was ordered "well done/crispy thin crust" - it was a sloppy soggy mess. Seems the quality of the food has changed since the remodel of the restaurant! We dined in a few months ago and as the atmosphere is swanky cool, the food was banquet blah! You're rolling the dice with this place. Feeling disappointed & let down by our neighborhood stand by pizza joint!

I started ordering from this restaurant about a month ago, most orders were delivery, but one was for pick-up. The delivery is amazingly fast. The food is good some days, not so good other days. I have learned to NEVER order any pizza on weekends. On weekdays the pizza is about a 7-8, on weekends it is a solid 4. The pizza had no flavor whatsoever on a Saturday or Sunday. None. The crust was dry and in desperate need of salt. Pizza on a Monday or Tuesday is much better, but could still use some salt. I have never in life had to sprinkle salt on my pizza, but it can taste like eating the box it comes in, if you don't. Next time, I would like actual sauce on my pizza, and not little red specks. Thanks! The gnocchi is very good. The portion serves about five people. They will make it without the spinach, or even the tomatoes. The Vesuvio chicken sandwich was excellent the first time. Toe licking good, to be honest, but the second one was prepared totally different, and was not the same sandwich at all.

Nice ambiance since remodel and outdoor seating option. Ordered a ceasar salad on last visit. They've tried to get fancy with presentation and in my opinion, it hasn't helped the food. The salad was soggy with too much dressing. It consisted of about 6 whole romaine leaves stacked with a parmesan crisp on top. There was a sardine split in half and laid out on the side as garnish. It was not worth the $8 pricetag and I would not recommend.

This review is based on the lack of customer service skills provided by Claudia who took my phone order in addition to a poor attempt at an italian beef sandwich. Claudia had poor skills in taking my order, she should have politely asked me to call back if she couldn't hear me. She repeated everything I said, wrong and then insisted she had repeated it correctly when I proceeded to repeat my order. I got so frustrated I passed the phone on so someone else could finish the ordering. And even he had to let her know he was loud with her because she had things wrong. Italian beef sandwich seriously couldn't even eat it, the meat was just badly seasoned with all the meat piled on half of the bun, fries nothing more than your frozen buy and their coleslaw swimming in mayo...more like a colesauce. Horrible service horrible food, don't intend to ever order from their again! To top it off on the delivery ticket my info was WRONG!! I'm shocked we even got dinner.

Stuffed Cheese and Sausage Pizza. The good news: It's in my top 5 for all of Chicago finest pies. The Bad news: I cannot stop eating it and I'm going to have to loosen my belt buckle one more notch.

Wow. I didn't know this Suparossa was here. Came here several days ago to order football pizza w/bacon for pickup based on experiencing this pizza at a friend's house. This location does NOT use the same technique for making bacon pizza as another location on Western Ave. This Central Ave spot made my bacon super crunchy & plentiful. The ladies (Claudia & Michelle) in the carryout were highly polite, professional & very courteous for it being my 1st time visit. Will be ordering from here exclusively.

Honestly this is the best pizza place ever. First of all, the food is delicious and always made fresh and hot. I used to eat here all the time ten years ago as a kid in Chicago. Then I moved to Arizona and have yet to find the quality that they have at Superossa. Yesterday I called in from all the way in AZ to have a pizza delivered to my friend in Chicago for her birthday. I have the best service ever! I asked for a simple request of making a heart shape out of pepperoni for my friends birthday, they were amazing and actually made the whole pizza into the shapes of a heart and had it sent to her at the exact time that I asked them to deliver. They made the process so simple, and their customer service is seriously amazing, not toe room their pizza quality tastes so great. My friend was thrilled to have a massive delicious heart shaped pizza, and I was thrilled to have such great service from all the way across the country. Overall, there's a reason this place has been open and serving food for so long- they're amazing!!!!!!! Give them your business, you won't regret it. I sure don't! I'm definitely a fan for life :)

I order from here pretty regularly, always delivery. So far, the food has been damn good (hence my repeat visits), but there is one issue I've noticed. This only happens when more than one of the same item is ordered (example below) 1 stuffed burger with bacon & cheese, med. rare 1 stuffed burger with cheese, medium. You get: 1 stuffed burger with bacon & cheese, med. rare 1 stuffed burger with bacon, cheese & mushrooms, med. rare Normally, I wouldn't care too much, but when you're allergic to mushrooms, it can get nasty. Since it only happens when you get two of the same, I'm not exceptionally concerned, I just dodge getting the same thing as anyone else. But as is, the food is usually good when I order, must be getting lucky judging from the other reviews.

Have been here a few times and I must say nothing about this place wow's me at all. It's very dull... boring.. the food is honestly not anything to rave about. It almost feels like a fast food place decorated like an italian restaurant. the servers are decent, but they look like they really don't want to be there. I'll eat there if need be.. but I'm not rushing back for any reason. Plenty of other places to go to.

This is one of the places and I'll definitely not order or even try to!!! Well I honestly don't know if I should blame Grubhub or the place itself. According to my knowledge GRUBHUB is supposed to have recorded or somehow know the restaurants operational hours. Well my family get hungry and decided to try a new place from where we usually order from. It is 1:30am and I decided to place my order at this place which it didn't even had operational hours or a closed. So if you see that it doesn't say anything and it is a new place where you have never order from and don't know their open and close times you assume that it is OPEN! So I placed my almost $70 and waited about 30 minutes until I received about 20-25 mins a notification on my email that my order was received. Right after I received my confirmation I received a call from GRUBHUB at 1:57a.m. saying that they are calling for the order I recently placed and just to say that the delivery guy had left for the night and they didn't have a driver. OK obviously I got upset and told the lady how come they were calling me that late to tell me such thing and that I had to go pick up my food which it was no biggy after I told her about picking up my food she told me that she was really sorry but the kitchen was closed and they weren't cooking anymore like WT heck!!! First she tells me there is no driver and then she tells me there is no cook!!?!!!! I waited ridiculously 30 mins for someone to call be back and let me know this nonsense! So after all that time WASTED I had to call somewhere else to place an order for my guests! Not even the restaurant called me to apologize for such mistake. It is now 8:50 a.m and they haven't even reimburse my money into my card!!!!! Not cool!!

This is my first review Ever on here. That just shows how bad the food is there. The food taste really old fashion and out dated.I just order a pizza and it really lacks flavor I've tried to get them a chance a few times but this was it.. The sauce sucks not sure how this place is still in business. Won't be going there anymore.

I have been ordering for Suparossa for MANY years, however the food has not been up to par the last few times we have ordered. Hit or miss on the calamari. I don't know if someone eats 1/2 of the calamari before we get it but it looks like we have only been getting 1/2 of the order as opposed to the full order as in the past. We usually order quite a bit of food so I am sorry to say that we will be going down the street to Poretta's for the next few orders.

Delivery food is great, but no more eat-in. They turned their eat-in restaurant into a pseudo-upscale Italian restaurant that thinks it's too classy to serve the pizza that made them famous even though they make it there and will deliver it. Thankfully, there are still some good eat-in classic pizza places in Chicago. Suparossa used to be one of them, but it's not anymore.

Ordered delivery from here one night with and I must say I am surprised I haven't tried this pizza place earlier. The crust was just perfect to my liking nice and crispy but NOT BURNT!! lol. I ordered it with Ground beef and the ground beef had really good flavor. Overall I am happy with this experience, I even went it to sit down and eat one night, not the most lively place, the music and the decor can use some revamping and the place will be a lot more lively in my opinion. can't wait to try them again soon!

Another good neighborhood spot that I love the food from! Much like another local spot near by that I has to give a poor review this place would get 5 stars if the accuracy of their delivery matched how great the food is! I've dined in several times and never disappoints. I like the dim atmosphere and the food is top notch. Their thin crust pizza is very under rated in the city but their pastas and traditional Italian dinners are all great. Delivery is a different story, although the last 2-3 times have gotten much better I did have at least half a dozen issues in the past year with accuracy of my orders. I shouldn't have to drive back to the restaurant to get my full order and then I didn't even get my delivery fee or anything refunded. Again great food but sometimes their delivery accuracy sucks

Very good and giant takeout dinners. Now that I live in rural America, access to good Italian food is a real treat- even if associated with a small chain of restaurants. On this visit home we hankered for some Italian (oddly it's not easy finding gnocchi around Portage Park). Ordered a number of takeout dinners, they were tremendous! The fridge was full of takeout containers by even the most dedicated eaters among us. The Gnocchi was very nice, good stuffed pizza as well. Looking forward to dining here again.

If I could rate it with a 0 I would. Service was very slow....perhaps they are understaffed, however we had reservations for a small funeral luncheon so they should have been prepared. Bread was good but had to ask for butter and salt and pepper to be put on the table. Pizza from the child's menu was awful and tasteless, Angus burger ordered medium well was cold and raw in the center, sent it back and they probably put it in the microwave and reheated. Have had indigestion about 1/2 hour after eating the meal and stomach pains continue tonight. Fire the cook! Quality of and presentation of food lacking. I will never recommend nor will I go back.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
