Besides being just steps west of the Montrose Brown Line station, these baristas are kind and friendly. Recently, I've developed a problem with my legs and thankfully this location has footstools so I can rest my legs on. Now my tastebuds and legs are happy.

Favorite neighborhood Starbucks. Really close and convenient to home. Parking can be a challenge during busy times of the day. Staff friendly. Wish it was a little bigger; its your typical storefront Starbucks. Don't expect to hang out for long, since a lot of folks use it as their "office." Will continue to be my go-to in the 'hood.

I just started working nearby and I always walk past. I stop by once in a while and I think this is the best Starbucks I've been to. The guy who works in the mornings always has something cute, witty or funny to say. I swear if you go in there, having a bad day, the few minutes you wait in line, are well worth it. I guarantee, you will leave there with a smile on your face. I always consider trying out the baked goods, but I'm happy enough with my Tall Java Chip Frap no- whip. Most places I've been, make it way too icy, and I can't enjoy the goodie bits of java chip because they've blended it into a pulp. Not here though, they always make the perfect blend and leave enough cookie bits at the end for me to nibble on.

This is my favorite near-work caffeine haven, and I would die without it. I visit this location every week during the work day, usually multiple times each week, and every single time I've been there, the staff is always absolutely wonderful. They are the best service crew I have ever seen at a Starbucks. In addition to that, I have never had a mishap or messed up drink! Check PLUS to the fact that even when they are busy, they have always paid my girlfriend and I plenty of attention. Delicious drinks, a wonderful and courteous staff, a consistently clean and well kept shop... Hrmm--no wonder this Starbucks is so lovely!

I love this starbucks, it is the closest to me but it's never too crazy busy like some of them are and all the employees are super friendly. If you had the choice between this one and the one on Lincoln I would come to this one.

I don't know where I would be without this Starbucks. I love the service. Found out the wi-fi isn't expensive. It's semi-free. You have to use a Starbucks card to get access, and when you sign up you actually get two hours a day as long as you use the card at least once a month. Not really a bad deal. This is a very small place, but I always have a seat. Also, one of the baristas recognizes me from my last review and she thanked me for the nice words.

Ok, I want to give 2 separate scores. Saturday Mornings: 5 stars The rest of the time: 1-2 stars Here is why: The girls that work at this store are terrible with customers. On several occasions I've come in with a friend and been completely ignored by the female employees. It's usually in the evenings, there's a tall girl and a shorter one. I've stood at the counter, ready to order for several minutes before either of them even looked up at me. The, instead of asking what I'd like, they just kind of stare at you like "what do YOU want?" it's pretty annoying. Plus, the drinks aren't ever properly made. My chai has been mostly foam more than once. Oh, and I asked for a venti ice water one time, she filled the cup with ice and then only filled the water about 1/3 of the way up. I said "can I have a full glass please?" and she glared at me before yanking the cup off the counter and making a big deal about filling it up. Same thing when I asked for a refill. Now, I can understand being annoyed with customers who want water when it's super slammed...but usually I'm the only one in line. Now, it's a completely different story on Saturday mornings. The few times I've been in early on a Saturday, it's been all boys working and they are the friendliest and fastest crew I've seen in the city. I know this review makes me sound like a woman hater, but I assure you, I am not. I worked at Starbucks for a few years and it's usually the men who are incapable, so I was shocked to find the exact opposite at this store. And, it's not only me. I have had a few friends tell me about their terrible experiences at this location on week nights but stellar service on weekends. I'll keep stopping in but I'll try to make sure it's only on Saturday mornings.

A Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks. Since this is the closest one to my place, it's my Starbucks by default. Being a student, I've ventured here several times to study when my cold, dark bedroom just wasn't cutting it. I've always been able to find a table, and sometimes I get free refills on my coffee as long as I keep the cup. There's really nothing to complain about, except the back cushions on the chairs could be fluffed a few hundred times. Come and see them for yourself, you'll probably agree.

At this tiny little Starbucks is everything I adore about my nieghborhood: It's next door to the glorious Hazel shop, has a Big outdoor eating area with water bowls and places for your puppy, big bright windows, small clean space, half-dozen papers to choose from for reading (including the Wall St. Journal and the NY Times), proximity to the El, plus the coolest baristas that remember your name, what you like and even name of your dog. A few of the people who work here (Marissa, April, Dan the uber-friendly bearded guy with the sunny southern accent who reminds me of home...) should be not only be photographed by thesartorialist.com but also as teach classes in customer service to the majority of the retailing masses: For instance, I was late for work and hadn't eaten anything all day. April said "This ham and brie sandwich is yummy, but the turkey has less fat- depends on which you want today, but the ham will taste better with your latte" SOLD! Naturally- I became enamored with the fatty ham and brie and have been buying it ever since. I and my expanding thighs thank you and think corporate should give you a raise and promotion!

I've become a Starbucks addict and I've been to many many many Starbucks all over the city. I usually order the same thing every time and every where and THIS location is by far the best Starbucks in Chicago! The employees are ALWAYS friendly and they remember and greet many regulars here by name, and they are the fastest baristas in town. I love you, Starbucks, but I can't stand when your baristas are so slow and not only that, but they mess up your everyday white chocolate mocha like the location on chestnut & rush, I've completely given up on them. They should really take down notes from this location, because this one is excellent!

RUDE. Avoid. The one at Lincoln and Wilson is bigger and the staff is far more pleasant. They really ought to fire these losers for their sneers, tone, and yelling at customers.

Near the brown line and the 78 bus. Indoor and outdoor seating. No clover machines but otherwise it's a full service Starbucks with a very nice staff. The only think you need to ask yourself is "Is it open?" Hours at time of review: M-F 5:30am-9pm Sat-sun 6am-9pm

I recently moved further away from this location but I usually stop here for a Redeye on my way to school. The baristas are extremely friendly and welcoming. A while back, I accidentally spilled my half-empty macchiato on the table. The barista was nice enough to make me a new one without me even asking. Thanks guys :)

Ok I am a little late with this review of my neighborhood Starbucks. I've lived very close by (in fact it is about a three minute walk when I leave my apartment) for seven years so I should have reviewed my Starbucks a heck of a long time ago. The baristas who work there are super super friendly. They are so friendly that it sometimes feels scary. I'm kidding when I say that but they are so nice that you wouldn't mind hanging out with them over a beer or two. Dan the guy at the register in the morning is a riot. I just love busting his chops. He is from Kentucky so I like getting on his case about that. Patrick who also works there is ultra friendly too. In fact EVERY barista who has worked there over the several years that I lived in the neighborhood is extremely friendly. I cannot even begin to recall if there was every an unfriendly staff member who worked there and they do have a consistent turnover of employees. If I ever move from my neighborhood I will make the effort to visit this Starbucks. I just feel like I am home when I drop by. All I can say is GREAT JOB!! You guys are the best.

Just your run of the mill salt of the earth Starbucks, right off the montrose stop of the brown line, with a cute little outdoor area.

Update: The female barista that works on Tuesday nights is the worst employee I've experienced anywhere. She is rude, slow and doesn't make the drinks very well. It's obvious she'd rather be somewhere else, and wishes you (the customer) were somewhere else. It still gets 3 stars because the Saturday baristas and the guy that works Tuesdays are great.

As Starbucks goes, this is a good location. Friendly and fast service. But dear god, people! There are more than 4 songs in existence! I sat down to read a little and realized about 30 minutes after arriving that I was hearing- for the 3rd time- the same song I'd heard as I was ordering. I used to like that song, too. After hearing it a dozen times in the last hour, I could safely say never hearing it again would be too soon. This is not hyperbole, folks. They really had only 4-5 songs in rotation. Also, it's so loud that I couldn't block it out with my headphones on full volume. I'd have left, but I had an hour to kill and needed to get some reading for work done before meeting my friend, who lives a 1/2 block away.

I study here often; it's one of the cleaner and more modern looking Starbucks that I've been to. Located near the Montrose brown line stop and across the street from a swanky local bar. There's outdoor patio but the space inside is on the small side; it's gets packed pretty quickly.

I'm a Starbucks addict, and I'm willing to admit it.... This location happens to be the closest to my apartment, so I frequent here often. The staff is always enthusiastic, friendly and quick with service. While it is not the largest Starbucks, there is always room to sit and do some work or relax. There are tons of outlets available for computers and a large table available for bigger groups. It's located right off the Montrose brown line stop, as well.

I am not a huge Starbucks fan. It's okay, but honestly? I don't like the push-button espresso bar shots. They suck. And I get to say that 'cause I worked at Starbucks for 17 years. That said, I got a bit tired of the hipster attitude at the Beans and Bagels down the street. So I started going to this Starbucks when I was dying for coffee on my way to work. And? I love them. They do everything right. Friendly, no attitude, but it doesn't feel fake. Which is the way it should be. I do admit though, I will only get an espresso drink if one particular woman is working the espresso bar. Because I doubt I would be willing to make a fuss if my shots sucked and I have yet to get a bad drink from her. Plus, she is fast. I am usually almost late and if I see more than about 2 people waiting at the bar, I get coffee. They almost make me miss working at Starbucks. Almost. :D Addendum. I would just like to state that overall, I would give Starbucks 3 stars. The coffee is okay, you know what to expect. Like it or not, they are pretty much the McDonald's of the coffee world. I gave this particular Starbucks 5 stars because they are full of win.

I only patronize this location when I'm leaving town, because I know they're open early. I don't like the new decor, but it's not enough to stop me from going. My drink is simple enough: non-fat misto. However, at least one employee does not seem to know the name for this drink and I end up waiting longer than I need to because I keep waiting for "non-fat misto" and don't hear it. That's because she calls out "coffee with non-fat topper." Huh? Starbucks is not my favorite coffee. It always tastes burned, even with dairy and sugar. (In fact, I have a friend who once worked at a Starbucks who said they double-roast their beans. No wonder.) Intelligentsia is better coffee. But there's not one in my neighborhood. Soooooooooo...................
