Ducked into this Starbuck's while Retro on Roscoe was trying to get itself started. Despite the fact that it was after starting time, there wasn't a beverage or any kind of food to be had. I was starving and thirsty, so glad to find that this Starbucks wasn't crowded. It's a spacious one, well designed and pleasant to be in. More and more, Starbucks are starting to feel my indy and not so institutionally. I changed my order and the server was really gracious about it. I loved the egg feta wrap I had for breakfast. Just the right amount of food and quite tasty. I'll be back, for sure. Next time I'm in the area.

Starbucks' are all serving you the same stuff so it really comes down to the staff. These guys are good. The rest of the review will be written in hopes of one person reading it: The ****** that likes to get a coffee around 630 am with the company of his loud rapid-fire barking dog that he ties up outside. I'm trying to sleep dude, your dog clearly cannot be taken on this trip without barking loudly for 15 minutes straight. Whatever happiness you get from the company of that dog pales in comparison to the urge to step on said dog I have every morning. Firstly - go F yourself for not realizing that this is annoying. Secondly, kindly leave the dog anywhere else and have a lovely day with your fresh coffee.

This is my go-to "get shit done" spot. It's a little further away than the other Starbucks in my area. The staff is pretty cool and always accommodating. The baristas are always accommodating and the space is nicely laid out. Bench seating, large tables, window-facing laptop and a PHONE BOOTH all work cohesively to bring the real hometown coffee shop vibe to this otherwise corporate establishment.

This Starbucks was once a diner (confirmed by Winter from starbuckseverywhere.net ). This location has all the great elements that you could want: booths, oversided chairs, a fireplace, exposed brick, tables/workspaces, and a fairly friendly staff (check out my posted pictures). The 3 times that I've been there the employees were friendly and after my drink was made engaged in small talk with me. This store is one of the most unique in terms of design space and elements. Well worth the trip and the metered parking.

Starbucks is great. Though some of my friends say that Starbucks lack a bit aroma, I still love it. Soy milk Latte is my favorite drink when I need to warm up in winter, Vanilla bean frappuccino is my favorite drink on a hot summer day. Even when i need energy before a long day at work I get a cup of coffee here. You can get here many different coffee related goods. From cups, mugs and souvenirs, everything smells like coffee here. Moreover, sometimes they surprise you with a free gift card! This happened to me some time ago, I received a gift card with $15 so I was all set with coffee for next couple of days!

I'm in love with Starbucks. Every morning I buy a green tea latte, which is the best tea latte I ever had. It's so addictive plus the pumpkin spice latte, only for the season is great! They used to have pumpkin pie, but perhaps they shall add it later during the season! ITS GREAT! Can't live without it!

I recently had an experience at this Starbucks that was not very neighborly. It was Friday night on the 19th and my wife and daughter were walking home after dinner. We expect our second daughter early next week and were really enjoying the evening. On the way home my wife wanted a chocolate chip cookie and we were right by this Starbucks which is also the last place prior to our house that we would have an opportunity to grab something sweet. I went inside and there weren't any chocolate chip cookies in the case, however there was a full rack of cookies on the side. I picked up two and went to check out. The person behind the counter told me those weren't for sale. I obviously thought she was joking and asked again if I could purchase the cookies. She said "no they are for tomorrow"- I could not believe it. I explained that my pregnant wife really wanted a cookie and that I would pay extra for the cookies. She still said no, and suggested I speak to the supervisor - this was really happening while trying to buy a cookie! Wayne (supervisor) came over and when I explained myself and my cookie needs, he insisted that he could not sell me tomorrow's cookies, today. I'm not joking. I had cash in hand and they turned me away. The employees didn't break any rules, they weren't rude, but the problem was they didn't care. In a neighborhood you don't always get the small local stores you get larger corporations, but the employees of that corporation store can still make a place feel local and neighborly - this experience fell very short of that and it was a real misstep by Starbucks this evening. I don't always yelp but when I do it's not good.

A good Starbucks, in fact one of the best I've been to. I like the layout, fireplace and cushy seating. I especially like that there are nice big booths to spread out and get some work done. People come to this location for 1 of 2 reasons. The first is to get some work done, many people stay for hours studying/working. The second reason is a mom destination. There are tons of babies and toddlers here, but I haven't seen any out of control or disruptive kids so I don't mind all the kids. The employees are not very friendly or talkative which is fine because they are good at getting through a long line quickly. Oh and this is a busy Starbucks, sometimes it's difficult finding seating.

Walked in to a line of 6 people, with 10 min before an appointment in the area... it seemed to be moving quickly, so I stuck it out. Less than 4 minutes later, I'm walking out with my soy latte! Hooray! This place is efficient!

What better way to get to review #100 than to review a Starbucks in a city I'd never been to? Yeah, you can find a Starbucks practically everywhere on Earth these days, and I apologize for not seeking out a cool local Chicago coffeehouse, but sometimes you're in the area, you spot the green siren, and you just have to go in for your fix. In this case, we were in the area and had about a half-hour to kill. This is a pretty cool Starbucks - I don't think any within a 200 mile radius of my home are decked out with brick, nor do I think any of those feature a big old-school telephone booth functioning as a community board. There's a lot of seating, and the windows offer a good view of the street. Even with all the large tables, the place was jammed - everyone had a laptop out, doing whatever. This location would definitely be a good one for serving as your "branch office." Service was competent, a refreshing change from some of the dull high-school kids and hood rats that the 'Bucks at home seems increasingly predisposed to hiring. I'd have to say that in the realm of chain coffeehouses, this is about as good as it gets. Hence this is me dropping yet another 5-star review. I'm beginning to think I'm an easy touch.

I wanted to be selfish and give this 1 star to keep this Sbux gem all to myself. But I just can't do it b/c it's awesome! I love local, independent coffee shops, but Starbucks are like Corollas---there's one on every block and they never let you down. I'm a proud Gold Card member at Starbucks, and frequently get pumpkin lattes, peppermint mochas, hazelnut lattes--um basically the entire menu. *I like THIS Starbucks in particular b/c it truly has a neighborhood feel unlike many of the other Sbuxes. A good amount of seating, ranging from booths, to study tables, to cozy chairs. A wonderful place to study. Friendly employees and free wi-fi as well. I highly recommend this Starbucks--just don't go telling too many of your friends! =P

This is a really nice Starbucks. I love the brick, seating setup, and the local art on the walls. Staff was nice, good coffee.

So, here is the deal. I live in Old Irving Park and my closest Starbucks is a 5 minute walk. THIS is not my closest Starbucks. However, this is MY Starbucks. I drive to this location at least once a week and sit in their comfy booths and work for hours. I love to watch the various people walk in and out of the door and I love how spacious this place is. The staff is friendly and they are always having a lot of fun. MY Starbucks actually made me want to know about Roscoe Village. Maybe one day MY Starbucks will be a 5 minute walk...you never know.

  • Linda D.

I know. 5 stars. Starbucks. But this isn't any old Starbucks. It's the Roscoe Starbucks, and it holds a special place in my heart. It's the perfect little sanctuary: local art adorns the walls, there's plenty of seating, and a variety of seating options including booths, comfy chairs, regular tables and long communal tables. Lots of outlets and just the right amount of noise to get work done without feeling like you're furious typing is too loud. The employees are friendly, there's free wi-fi and free water for when you're cracked out and dehydrated from all the coffee. Plus, there's usually plenty of free parking around the corner if you look for it. It's rare that I would say this about the crazy empire that is Starbucks but this one in particular has become a home away from home.

One of the bigger Starbucks in area, totally remodeled like 3 months ago. Fireplace, Booths, Exposed Brick, and a very nice staff...

  • Carrie R.

I hate saying this, but it has to be done. On weekends I can barely move through this place without needing ear plugs from the high shrill sounds of kids voices and protective gear from getting rear ended by giant strollers. I have begun to travel a little further to other coffee joints on weekend mornings, which is unfortunate considering this is the closest place to my house. I'm not even a kid hater! I love kids! But not when I want a quiet place to read and relax. I know its a neighborhood filled to the gills with new moms and I realize moms need coffee too...but there is actually a place JUST for this demographic right up the street called Family Grounds. They even have an enclosed play area! Go there!

    (2)
  • Amy G.

This place is just great! Every time I come I've had nothing but good experience with the employees here and the coffee they have. I would of given them a 5 star rating, but it seems to be hard sometimes to find parking here. Other than that everything is good!

    (4)
  • MaryAnne M.

This is the only SB within walking distance to my home, that alone would only give it 3 stars. That fact that it is H-U-G-E tips it to 4, they have booths. Booths. In a Starbucks. Add to that the staff is super nice and makes my nephew half cocoa /half milk tips it to 5 stars.

  • Al N.

This particular Starbucks isn't very close to where I live or work - yet I keep coming back. I simply love this place. The people who work here are exceptional. I've probably been to a dozen or so other Starbucks in Chicago. This is the only one that I'm inspired to come back to. I particularly enjoy their comfortable booths and the tables by the window. Tables by the window are great for people watching - especially in the summertime. I should probably point out that I'm not one of those people whose life revolves around Starbucks or coffee. I come here probably once a week on average. But when I do come here - I really enjoy it. There are probably five or six Starbuck that are closer to my home than this one. You won't find me at any of them.

  • Tina B.

It might be just a Starbucks, but this is a really nice Starbucks. It's like two separate storefronts connected together by a walkway and the counter. On one side there are booths to sit in, like cooshy diner booths, and a coffee demonstration type bar area that one of the workers there told me has never actually been used lol. There's also a random, old-timey red telephone booth just up in there. The other side is all comfy with stuffed chairs and couches and a really cozy fireplace that I've taken at least one wonderful nap in front of - that is a super prized spot in the wintertime, and it is amusing to see some fancified people all ready to shank each other over prime seating. I'm in no danger of shanking though, because if I'm sleeping in a big stuffed chair there, I am probably exhausted and more likely than not look like a hobo. And they aren't maybe so used to hobos on Roscoe? I don't know, but I've gotten no grief from either staff or other customers - and the staff is always really nice here. A word of warning - This place on a Saturday afternoon is like the fucking county fair - everyone but a fucking goat and a prized pig is in there forming giant Soviet era like bread lines - avoid, unless there is a serious Frappuccino emergency or something. Of course, there are like 50 other Starbucks within a 5 minute drive of here - at least. And, last but not least - They have local art on the walls here! Like from local artists from the city of Chicago! On their walls! At a Starbucks! Lord, please let that become a trend. Of course this isn't as good as all coffeehouses get, but it is as good as Starbucks gets.

Love it! Service is awesome and friendly, not to mention they really whip up those drinks quite fast. This is one of three that I can walk to and I always prefer this one. Good job Starbucks staff :)

Me? Reviewing a Starbucks? There must be something amiss. But no, this Starbucks is worth reviewing. It is the nicest Starbucks I've ever been to. It's clean, peaceful with the several people studying, yet roomy enough to have a nice conversation around those keeping quiet. It's decor has personality such as a marble bar with swivel stools, big and cushy booths, plush over sized chairs, and local art. And, the green tea latte I ordered was the best green tea latte I've ever had.

  • Kathy B.

Their staff is usually very nice, except they tend to screw up drinks. This locations is beautiful, and the booths are great. It is really hard to find a seat though on busy afternoons. They parking situation kind of sucks too! There is also A LOT of great art on the walls.

They came by the pricinct to drop off free coffee for the election judges and for all during election day. That is above and beyond what I expect from a coffee chain by my book. The coffee got me through the long and hectic day. My local coffee joint, big comfy booths, friendly staff and to go above and beyond...... Thanks for caring about us.

Not a coffee person or a Starbucks person, but the staff here are really awesome. I just finished a good five hours of Village thrifting next door when it started to rain. I had three huge bags and didn't feel like walking in the rain to the bus stop, so I sat here for a good 40 minutes waiting for a ride. I find it rude not to buy anything so I bought a bottle of water and some tea. Staff was really cool and didn't mind that all 100 lbs of me and 3 bags totaling 50 lbs took up an entire corner.

I have always had a great experience at this Starbucks location. Coffee is always fresh and delicious. I love the layout of the interior with the exposed brick walls and the red telephone booth. Great ambience for a coffee shop. Pastries are delicious with a warm latte of your choose.

This is your typical Starbucks with a Harry Potter twist. The brick wall always reminds me of platform 9 & 3/4! This is a good spot to cozy up with a HP book. The staff are always friendly, quick and efficient.

Maybe this is just the highlight of the parents' in the neighborhood's week to come here with screaming children in what I consider to be an adult meeting space/workspace. I just can't really come here without getting highly irritated at the blatant disregard for others and the hot drinks that are around. Children should not be allowed to run around in here like I constantly see them doing. Please someone open up another coffee shop on Roscoe.

    (2)
  • Patrick D.

They do coffee, and they do it good. Since this is a chain, and there's reasonable expectation that its very similar, I won't expand much. It's Starbucks coffee, happy, polite baristas, and good coffee. Are you a member of their loyalty program? You should. Every 12th cup is free!

    (4)
  • Steve M.

I stop in to this location probably twice a week when I am down the street visiting my local chiropractor. The scary or nice thing is even though I only go there twice a week a few of the baristas/employees already remember my name and my drink. That's always a nice thing or is that a sad thing that I spend so much cash on coffee. Who cares as a shareholder I am only adding to the bottom line. The space is always clean although I find the brick wall and pillar in the center of the space awkward to get around to get into line to order. Parking is street and is usually very easy to find when they are not doing construction.

I have to say, "this starbucks is cool!" Most of the starbucks now a days are all the same. They're just different shapes. But the roscoe village starbucks looks and feels different than the others. The staff is really friendly and they aren't retentive about starbucks coffee rules like some of the other stores are. It's always crowded which can be a problem especially if the weather is bad. And sometimes the line is long - really long, but that's a problem at most starbucks. Overall I give this place a 4 star rating.

Came into the area for a PAWS adoption event. They were giving free coffee to shelter workers. I needed change to leave a nice tip because I appreciated the gesture of the free coffee. My $2.19 bottle of water netted me $15 in change for a $20. It's like they built in their own tip. They did the same thing to another volunteer in my organization.

It's Starbuck's. If you don't know what a Starbuck's is like, then you probably don't know what Yelp is, so I don't know how you are reading this. Anyway, this is a Starbuck's, nothing fancy, somewhat small, but with decent seating. The staff is really great. Also coincidentally good for dog watching. People are almost always walking some small dog outside. I think it's because the small dogs need a Mocha Latte to keep their quivering up.

Moreover, sometimes they surprise you with a free gift card! This happened to me some time ago, I received a gift card with $15 so I was all set with coffee for next couple of days!

I know. 5 stars.

Go there!

This place is just great! Every time I come I've had nothing but good experience with the employees here and the coffee they have. I would of given them a 5 star rating, but it seems to be hard sometimes to find parking here. Other than that everything is good!
