Not all Starbucks are rated equally. Let me just say that. With that in mind, I have to say that this is one of my favorite locations. It's smack dab in the middle of a pretty busy area, but every time I come in, these people are friendly, fast, precise, and don't forget to treat everyone with respect. They have gotten my order correct every time, which doesn't happen at many Starbucks locations. They have enough people on for busy times- again, something that doesn't happen at every location. I've stood in many long lines at this spot, and I get my drink pretty fast. There's a Starbucks on every corner, so stop at this one!

Any location lacking a drive-thru is worth a star lol...may be petty but I am who I am and I like what I like! Otherwise it's a great location seated directly across from Nordstrom on State St. I found it to be tight quarters and no room to spread out at all. This is the type of Starbucks you'd just grab a cup and get out of. Do Not expect to chillax here.

Great friendly staff! Sometimes a bit of a line, but it always moves fast. I stop every morning and am always pleased at the service. Large seating area with mainly communal tables. One of the nicer Starbucks locations in the city.

This location Rules! Super convenient for me that is and the Staff is Friendly too. Rachel and Sidney are by far my Favorite! Sid keeps it Metal and Rachel is a Doll. They all seem to be genuinely happy to work here unlike other locations that are far more bitter than their Coffee.

It's a decently sized Starbucks with some seating throughout. It's not a super spacious place, but it's not cramped either. Location is great though, right in the River North area. Has all the usual selection and service you'd expect from a Starbucks.

I liked this spot because there was enough open seating to sit and do work while in town. There is an open shared table in the middle of the place w seats for 8 or 10. There is also a shared table in the corner for 6 in addition to tables and a bar area w street view.

This starbucks gets a 5 star for location and a sweet twist. They serve food that you may normally see at a Starbucks. The baked mac n cheese was delicious. Also if you want to enjoy a adult beverage they serve beer and wine. Solid amount of outlets and tables, two thumbs wayyyy up!

My first choice of menu item they were out, second choice out also. It's a Tuesday, I would expect regular menu items to be in stock.

Restaurant review It is great to have this starbucks located right across from Jewel. This place is always busy but the barista's keep the line moving. Pro: fast service, friendly Cons: expensive of course it is a starbucks Hidden gem: Starbucks registered gift card to earn stars and to obtain gold status for free drink after 12 stars. Nothing to really report, it's Starbucks. Service was very fast and there wasn't a ton of people waiting which is a pleasant change from California.

NEVER COME BACK for any weekend afternoon. its not too crowded today, but I cannot even connect to internet or even if i do, extremely slow!!! taking minutes to review A Page?? WTF!!! I was a big fan of Starbucks in SF, NY and enjoyed strong internet connection. thats why its worth paying for the overpriced hot liquid. But here!!!!! if you have this shitty connection in NY or SF, youll be closing down in 1month. c'com, if you are reading this, management at Seattle office, we need this starbucks at 600 n state st in chicago to receive extra warning. its not living up to SBUX standard on customer service. now, if this is a chicago standard, you claim? such a place with mediocre infrastructure.

Worst customer service I've ever received at a Starbucks. Rude, unfriendly staff. And this is coming from a former Starbucks employee. Considering how many locations there are in the area I'd definitely recommend avoiding this one

oh dear sweet jesus that artichoke and goat cheese flatbread. I wouldn't expect a STARBUCKS to have good food, but this is one of the froufrouy special ones with wine and small plates, and that flatbread is awesome. It's not too heavy to give you a food coma, but it's still rich enough you feel satiated. It's also a healthy size coffee shop, with tables and outlets galore. I camped out here for like 6-7 hours (till closing - which is MIDNIGHT on a friday, amazing!!) to study for my upcoming pathology exam and tried half the damn menu, with no regrets. In fact my only regret is that i didn't discover it sooner. I'm praising your glory, fancy starbucks. bless your heart for being within a mile's stretch of my apartment.

Not only is it not open at 5 AM on Sunday as it says on Yelp. it's not open at 5:30 AM like as says on the door.

This is for the guy who took my order last Tuesday for tall Salted Carmel Mocha. You helped me with my iphone app and you loaded up my starbucks card. This is what makes me want to come back and be a Loyal customer. Not all starbucks are the same. This one just went above and beyond! Thank you!

This place is your basic Starbucks. It has all the usual drinks, features, etc. This location is slightly more spacious than some in the area. It also offers drinks and food after 5 pm, so you can also stop in for a quick bite to eat or some drinks after work. The staff is pretty nice as well.

Saturday morning (3/21/15) staff were very rude and inconsiderate. The person in front of me was a foreigner visiting Chicago and the barista impatiently huffed and puffed while saying "I just can't understand you" even though the persons was saying their order clear enough for my fiancé and I to understand what he was asking for. This is a Starbucks that is part of a large hotel in a major city, the baristas should be accustomed to multicultural clientele and at the very least show patience when taking an order. When it was our turn a different barista Evan took our order and although the magnetic stripe on our card wasn't working (happens every time only at this Starbucks) couldn't figure out how to type in the numbers on the register although we've had this done at least a dozen times before at this location. Finally coffee came luke warm and when I asked for a new one the barista gave me attitude and made another coffee at the exact same temperature.

Perfect location to where we were staying and a wonderful staff! We dropped in for a quick cup of coffee shortly after checking into our hotel and were greeted with smiling faces and hot coffee on a cold day. With all the Starbucks out there that are quick and go, it's nice to have a great little staff.

Not the best Starbucks, but I wouldn't give them one star. I ended up here because the other Starbucks was closed...even though Yelp said they were open till 5pm *side eye*. The location was alright, conveniently located... I was a bit irked with how slowly the staff moved.... and the barista seemed almost irritated that I was ordering more than one drink. He worked soooooooo slowly that I wanted to grab the pen and the cups and just right down our drink orders myself (we ordered 5 drinks). After spending about 5+ minutes having him write down our orders, we moved down the bar to pick up our drinks... and some of them were wrong. Great. Again, only thing saving them from the 1star, they're open when they say they will be.

The staff here is as good as it gets! For about 2 years, I would bring the redline downtown for work and get off at the Chicago stop to walk to my office at LaSalle and Erie. I would stop in teh Starbucks at Erie and Clark every morning for a Venti Awake tea and a Turkey Bacon Sandwich. Despite doing this - every morning for about 2 years - the staff of that location would look at me and greet me as if they'd never seen me before. One day, I went a stop further on the red line to Grand and stopped in the Starbucks at State and Ohio and what a difference. The staff was cheerful and upbeat. So I returned and by my 4th or 5th visit, they knew what I wanted. The manager (I think his name is Chris) si very friendly and customer-oriented. How I start my day sets the tone for the next several hours. Its rough enough to bring the L into town every morning. A happy face and a cheerful bunch who seem to appreciate my business, no matter how small, is just what I need to reset for the day.

Another Starbucks review from me?!?!?!? Of course, what else would you expect? I am a devoted fan and a huge addict of Starbucks coffee. If I didnt love it or NEED it to keep my caffeine rage suppressed, I would not drink it. But the rage is there, so I must have it! There must have been 5 people in front of me, and I had my drink in my hand in less than 10 minutes. 2 minutes per drink is FAST!!!!!!! Lots of seating inside and outside this Starbucks.

Service here stinks. They don't ignore you and instantly forget you ordered, like a couple of other Starbucks I've been to, but in order to purchase my items, I had to wait for someone to finish chatting (she could have said, "I'll be with you in one moment"), and when she turned around, she asked who was next in line (there hadn't been a line at all for the first two minutes I waited - thankfully, the next customer said I was first). Then she asked if I needed a bag, even though I was standing there waiting for one, since I had bought several food items, not just a coffee to go. She didn't say thank you or anything. That's the second and last time I pop in there after visiting POSH across the street.

Your typical, run of the mill Starbucks. Got a caramel brule latte...which was sugartastic and delicious! Thanks for being conveniently located! :)

Great location if your'e staying at the Embassy! We frequented it while we stayed downtown and they were friendly and fast! As long as I get my caffeine, you can have my money and Starbucks is pretty dependable when it comes to that.

I was given a gift card as a gift. I asked what price the hot chocolate was. The African-American, shiny-faced individual paused, rolled his eyes, and slowly looked behind him at the menu. I don't go where my money isn't appreciated. I did not catch his name, but someone of authority should remind him that people in non-business attire have money, too. And each total from each individual goes toward his paycheck.

Normally Starbucks coffee overall has good service. Hot drinks are always served very very quickly in a friendly fashion. The coffee cakes/muffins are always filled with flavor. So with the normal every day Starbucks, I never thought I'd be writing a review on this company. Until tonight that was the case. I stopped in a local Starbucks near where I work, where I was welcomed in by two baristas behind the counter with smiles & friendly attitudes. My younger brother was confused on his drink, and one of the gentlemen helped him to a new Cinnamon Dulce coffee drink. It was delightful. My latte of course was perfect. They each said 'Thank You' and they each said 'Have a wonderful night'. Saying like these go a long way. So thank you Starbucks gentlemen at 600 N. State Street. Bravo! I will be returning to this location!

We went here for breakfast because we knew we were going to be having a big lunch. The service was good and the pastries were better than imagined. This was my first time ever at a starbucks, and I don't think I'm so against them now...

Stopped in for the first time this morning and was completely ignored! The guy behind the counter helped the woman in front of me and then the man behind me but didn't ask me what I needed. The funny thing is when another worker pointed this out to him, quietly so I wouldn't over hear, he seemed not to care. I promptly left. I hate this starbucks location. I was dressed for work and they still treated me poorly. Sorry Marie c., I guess this place just stinks.

This Starbuck's couldn't be more convenient for Embassy Suites guests. It is in the southeast corner of the building. When I stayed at Embassy Suites last week, I patronized this Starbuck's two times. Once when I got fed up with the congestion at the Embassy Suites breakfast buffet and another day before riding a cab to the airport. Many people believe that Starbuck's is overpriced. I disagree. Less than $5 brought me a tall coffee with white mocha syrup and a butter croissant. Enough to control my appetite and calorie intake. $5 also included wifi and an outlet to charge my smart phone. Many people will say that all Starbuck's are the same. I disagree. All Starbuck's have their own personality. This one is a laid back cafe in the heart of downtown Chicago. It is a corner location offering a variety of seating that includes a patio, and windows to watch the people and traffic passing on State and Ohio Streets. If I return to this Embassy Suites, chances are I will be choosing this Starbuck's over the hotel's breakfast buffet. Or I might walk a block or two in any direction to another Starbuck's.

I went to this Starbucks for the first time this morning. The employees were friendly, my drink was delicious, and my drinks came out in a moderate amount of time. There was one lady who ordered around when I did who changed her order after she placed it and then she wanted it to be decaf even though she didn't mention that to anyone. This created a little mayhem, but it was deAlt with well.

Came here on busy weekday morning with line out the door - the service was quick and quality was flawless. Came back on Saturday morning at 7am, much slower, high quality beverage, great community vibe. I like the interior design.

Starbucks, oh Starbucks, you greet me so happily! On weekday mornings at six and Sunday 'noons at three. Alas, you are not the best and this you surely know. For others truely brew more sophisticated cups of joe. Still I visit you often. You're there just down the street. An oasis on sticky summers mornings with an icy coffee treat. But, I love you only sometimes, like a 900 girl on the phone, Only when it's convenient and I can't make it to Rom.

Another corner Starbucks Coffee joint. What can I tell you that you don't already know? Place is clean and service is friendly. I am particularly a fan of the patio on the corner outside. It's location can provide for some pretty decent people watching in one of the greatest cities on earth.

Ample outdoor seating! This Starbucks location gets 5 stars because they are the complete package: clean, with lots of tables both indoor and outdoor. The baristas are friendly and efficient. And, for as busy as the area is, it's always possible to snag a seat, even at peak hours.
