Man, not sure what has happened in the past 6 months... But this place has become a true #strugglebus. The latest example: we ordered delivery and there were enough strikes against it that even underpaid teachers feel for us. -It took OVER 90 minutes even though they quoted 1 hour. I even called twice to make sure it was still on the way. Patience ain't my virtue. -We ordered the lentil soup and it was sour/spoiled. Just Nasty. -There was also no hot sauce or any extra sauce... Even though, I SPECIFICALLY asked for hot sauce, tzatziki, and tahini. AND I even mentioned that they could charge us for it. Fell on deaf ears. Mos' def. The rest of the food was OK... just the experience and soup left a bad taste. The manager said he'd hook us up when we came in to dine next time... but not for delivery for some reason. Now on a new hunt for a go-to Mediterranean delivery.

Be true to your operating hours. Ordered at 10:30 and got a call at 11:00 saying it was too late. BOOOOOOOOOO Oh yeah, I'm still hungry so now I have to do this all over again. BOO

Afternoon weekend visit. Chicken shawarma was not ready for 30 min so we ordered beef and lamb. (Apparently the chicken was just placed on spit and needed this amount of time to cook. Fair enough. ) We also order baba ganouj. Basically, this meal ended up being at the quality level of a shopping-mall food court. Shawarma was meh: it was more dry than moist and fixings were tired. Pita bread was dry and seemed a two or more days old: no comparison the warm, soft, chewy pockets served by places like Pita Inn and Noon o Kabob. Baba Ganouj was waaaay too lemony/acidic. It was also bland. It did not look like the eggplant was roasted as the flesh was very yellow and the taste was more raw than roasted. All the best versions I have eaten have a lovely roasted flavor and a silky mouthfeel. This blah version did not have those characteristics. Naf Naf Grill does a way better version and they, too, are fast food. Bottom line: We won't go back and nor should you (unless you are pining for stale and insipid poser food).

This review is just for the baklava...They make their own baklava. Walnuts inside, pistachios on top. $1.29 a piece + tax. SO GOOD!!!! Tastes better than the boxed baklava they have. :)

Generous portions and very delicious. Lentil soup, pita and hummus are all so good. I love this place.

SHAWARM-ASTIC We were attending The DoDivision Fest and looking for some food but not street food. We opened up our Yelp App and saw this place. So we all agreed and headed over. At first I was surprised how empty it was but then realized they didn't serve alcohol and most people attending the Fest were getting their drink on. So the calmness of this place was a great break from the craziness outside. One of the first things I noticed was the stacked chicken on the rotating spit. Not pressed or processed chicken but real chicken. I knew what I was ordering and I asked for a Chicken Shawarma sandwich. It is also available as a plate but I didn't feel like building my own sandwich. After ordering, I saw a spit with stacked beef and lamb. They also had a third spit with the processed gyro meat that all Chicagoans seem to love. The owner told me that he sells a ton of those and at $4.99 it might be the best deal in town. My chicken shawarma looked amazing. I could hardly wait to dive in and it was delicious. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor. I really loved how the meat was seasoned and not with salt but real spices. I can not wait to come back. I shared a few bites with my girls and both were having shawarma envy. I was in jeopardy of losing my food, so I had to redirect them to their choices. Ha! My wife ordered a large hummus with pita. I will say it was the most beautiful hummus plate I've ever seen in my life. It not only looked good but it tasted fantastic. One of my new favorites in Chicago. The owner was really nice and shared some of his lunch with us and gave us some circular bread with toasted sesame seeds on top. The bread was delicious, in fact, my wife was sad when it was gone. It was hard to go from this wonderful bread to the pita. I really must say thank you to the owner for giving us this wonderful authentic culinary experience. I had no idea what this Special Sesame Bread was until, a Yelper friend from California, John D saw the photo and told me it's called Ka'ak. This bread is commonly consumed throughout the Near East. It is made in a large ring-shape and is covered with sesame seeds. It is sold by street vendors and is usually eaten as a snack. Thanks John for the insight. I really appreciate it. My little one went with a Side of Rice and a Lentil Soup. She loved the rice and I must agree it was really good. She was not a huge fan of the soup but that was good news for me. I was able to finish off what she didn't. I liked the soup and loved it more when I squeezed the fresh lemon into it. I also observed how the staff ate as a family. It was really sweet. They all gathered around the back table and ate family style. I was really jealous of their giant plate of olives. They were also enjoying the Ka'ak bread. My wife asked me if I would go over and ask for some more. I looked at her but realized she was joking. I like this place from the great food to the amazing staff. This place was over 5+stars and the food was incredibly affordable. I can hardly wait to come back for another visit. If you are looking for a great place then this is it.

Besides the really good fries there's not a ton going on here. Shawarma is dry. The "tomatoes" consist of 2 tiny chunks. Same with the pickles. I don't get how it takes so long to make so little food.

  • Zach K.

Hummus was amazing. Plates were definitely big. However, chicken was dry and the kofta kabob was seasoned incredibly potent with some weird taste. To cap it off, after eating, the dude sneezed behind the counter. And for the price it was more on the snottier side, I.e expensive.

Kafta, Hummus & side salad. Oh, yeah & fresh baked pita. It taste much better then it looks. The Kafta was full of flavor & juicy

Thanks to Shawarma Garden, my late night drunken eating habits have become healthier! Stops to Phil's Last Stand have decreased in frequency and I've eliminated trips to Picante altogether! The shawarmas, gyros, and falafel here are all exquisitely prepared, offering a pita or wrap option (something most Middle Eastern joints don't do). Their fiery hot sauce is also the bomb! As is the spicy vegatables option. Balance that with their homemade tahini and you have a hell of a sandwich! Service is also top notch. Who knew Palestinians could ace customer service with such ease? The guys always accomodate special requests and routinely deal with our drunk asses with a smile on their face. Have already been here about ten times since they opened and will certainly be back. Hopefully these guys will stay in the neighborhood for awhile!

I'm always a sucker for all things falafel and shawma. So, it's really only natural that I'm a fan of Shawarma Garden. I've been meaning to write a review for a bit, but I keep wanting "more taste tests." Really, it's just me making excuses as the food here is absolutely awesome. Whenever I go to a new Middle Eastern/Mediterranean place, I have to get the falafel. It's my version of a control. The falafel here is pretty damn killer. There's a spice to it that I can't put my finger on. It's hard for me to pick out just one other thing after that. The range is extremely good and one really can't go wrong with whatever they choose. But, one really does need to get themselves some hummus if we're being nit picky (it's like silk in your mouth). People, take notice of this innocuous place on Division and Damen. They are bringing some real good shit for all of us to enjoy at very affordable prices.

  • Noam S.

So, coming from someone who's actually from the middle east, this place serves mediocre okay'ish food at best.. The hummus is pretty good, the falafel is decent, but the Shwarma was not good, and neither was the service, or any part of the general experience. This place is fine, but it is far from being the best in Chicagoland, and I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it.

Great quick, fresh mediterranean/middle eastern food for delivery. I've never been to the restaurant but have ordered from them several times via yelp. The Jerusalem salad is tasty and I am a sucker for the gyro plate which is odd because when I am out I typically opt for the steak schwarma. I highly recommend this place for something quick and easy and very tasty! We did order from here tonight and although delivery took forever and a day, it was worth it :)

Come here!!! I've had Shawarma Garden bookmarked on Yelp forever, and finally pulled the trigger last night. I'm not going to lie, I didn't expect much but I was wrong. It was one of those nights where you don't want to leave the couch, so I ordered in. It was so easy. About 30 minutes after I placed my order online, the delivery guy was at my door. He was very friendly! Now, I ordered the chicken tawook entree platter (which comes with rice, salad, pita, and hummus), and the falafels. Holy balls. The falafels we're absolutely delicious. The blend of spices, and the perfect crunch, all dipped in a tahini sauce. I was so full after half my meal, and kept eating afterwards, simply because it was so good. If you're a sauce person, I'd recommend getting the garlic sauce. I originally thought it was going to be the traditional garlic paste (thoum) you get at Lebanese restaurants, but it's not. This is more of a garlic infused Greek yogurt, nonetheless was it delicious. The sourness of the sauce mellowed out the spices and made a nice mix. All in all, I will definitely be here again! and I highly recommend coming!

  • Amy A.

So tasty and so cheap. Best gyro I've ever had and my boyfriend's platter (schwarma garden platter 4 mixed grill) was so amazing and what I would expect at a high end restaurant. The staff is friendly and efficient. My new place for quick food!!

  • Sam H.

The food here is outstanding!! Like an old school street cart with great food!! There's no ambiance, there's no frills, there's nothing special.. Just some dam good food!! And really nice people. Just pop in order a shawerma wrap and have at it!

Had the vegetarian sampler plate the first time, "good, not great". Falafel plate tonight - will let you know. The meat options look delicious but I aspire to be a vegetarian so I've, as you see, been avoiding the meat thus far... Atmosphere is decent. Casual. The food smells tasty!

  • Olivia M.

Some of the best middle eastern food I've ever had - and wow does $10 go a long way. I got the chicken shawarma dinner plate and it came with a salad, rice, and hummus. I was totally skeptical of this place initially because to be completely honest, it's pretty ugly, has sparse seating, and it's strangely quiet but I'm so glad I tried it anyway! My only recommendation is to take the food to go if you can.

  • Lisa L.

I stopped in for lunch last week and immediately expected to see some lunch specials available (since its very common of Mediterranean places) but I couldnt find one in site. Prices still wernt too bad so i got the kefta wrap. I took it to-go with plans to eat it at wicker park. While the sandwich looked to be huge once i bit into it i found that it was a lot of romaine lettuce with my one little link of kefta and one purple-hued pickle seemingly placed in the middle so i could see it was there when cut in half. Flavor was ok. I would try again but get one of the chicken sandwiches which looked better, or the classic standby, falafel.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It could easily be passed by for other, older Division Street establishments, but finally I made it in. It's very much fast mediterranean food. Not much in the way of ambience inside so I think Shwarma Garden will be a carry-out over a sit down place. That's exactly what I did. The employees (3 gentlemen) were attentive, polite, but definitely busy. I decided to go with the veggie combo platter. Not only do you get to try a variety of options, it's the cheapest item on the dinner entree section of the menu! Score for being a vegetarian! The veggie combo was delicious. You get 3 dolmades (stuffed grape leaves with rice), tabouleh salad, hummus, 3 falafel with 4 pieces of pita bread (technically two whole pitas sliced in half). Quite the feast! The only thing that is disappointing to me is the lack of french fries. Maybe that's a tradition to me but when I get mediterranean, I usually get some fries and tzatziki. Oh well, you can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you might find yourself happily stuffed with yummy foods from Shawarma Garden. So if you're in the neighborhood, check it out!

Chicken shawarma was probably my favorite of all time, or at least for a very long time (Hamido out in Dearborn makes phenomenal chicken shawarma too: yelp.com/biz/hamido-dear… ). Sultan's up on North Ave. is really great too, but the sandwich here has a few extra nuances that make it superior. First- the chicken is shaved off of the rotating spit roaster right before your eyes, to order, and the meat is so tender, juicy and flavorful. Perfect! Second- the use of pickles on the sandwich (along with adding Sambal Olek) sets it apart from Sultan's. While the cost is a bit more (at least in terms of the amount of food you get for what you pay), this stuff is solid, and still cheap. The space reminds me of an old school hotdog stand, but don't take that to mean anything offensive. It's Mediterranean fast food, absolutely delicious, reasonably priced, and served by very friendly staff.

One of our regular go-to places for an inexpensive and filling lunch. Love the gyro platter when I want some leftovers for the next day as you get gyro meat with sauce, basmati rice, salad, hummus, and pita. Still five stars in my opinion.

Great and easy shoarma place. Open til midnight and in a great neighbourhood. Had the chicken shawarma and gyros, both were good.

Wow ! I have become a regular. For under $20 you can get an order of falafel, beef/lamb Shawerma plate which includes salads and hummus plate and split between 2 people! We even brought home a box of rice and extra beef. Love this place.

Thought it would be a great idea to order in tonight and read great reviews about this place. Really excited I ordered, was told 20 minutes, and now it's been over an hour. I called 45 minutes in, was told any minute. I'm starving so I just called again, (an hour now) and was told the same thing. I live about a mile away, and I'm starving. Will be calling back in 15 minutes to get a refund. I'll stick with Sultans.

Due to how much I love Middle Eastern food, I'm SO happy this place came to Division and is a short walk away from my house! I've been there several times since it's opened. Really friendly staff and delicious chicken shawarma and hummus. YUM!!!

  • Dave H.

First perception walking in was an over priced chain serving low quality meat. However upon taking our food to go and opening up a full serving of goodness, my perception greatly assumed wrong. My wife and I both ordered the chicken shish tawook and our meals were cooked and prepared to perfection. Great place for a quick pick up or even a casual dine in. Well worth the $10 - $15 bucks for a full meal, plus it taste just as savory the next day for some leftover lunch.

I ordered a chicken kabob meal with rice and I'm extremely disappointed because I specifically asked for garlic with my meal and guess what I didn't get!??.Yup, you guessed it, garlic.

Absolutely fantastic little place to grab a quick bite. The food is consistently top notch, especially given the price point. I've had the gyros as well as the combo dinner and both were great. This is my top quick food spot in the Wicker Park area for both pickup and delivery.

First time I came here was after a night drinking on division street. Honestly I was pretty drunk so I got hungry. Walking back home I came across this place and at the time a shawarma reminded me of the doener kebabs in Germany after the bars. At this point there was no way for me to not get a shawarma or at the very minimum a gyro. Needless to say it was delicious, then again I was quite drunk so anything could have been delicious. A couple of days later I was walking home from Ashland-Blue when I passed this place again and decided to check if it actually was delicious or if it was just me being a drunk. No noooo apparently I have good taste when I'm hungry and drunk because this place is really good. Maybe the place doesnt have the best facade but trust me when I say this place is great. By now I have probably had everything on their menu excep the salads (yao ming face). The shawarma plates and the grape leaves are my favorite. Don't over think it and go check it out!

Stopped by after having a meal at SmallBar since we weren't quite satisfied and didn't care to spend even more for a super small dish. We ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and baba ganoush. - chicken was a little on the dry side, but the baba ganoush was so amazingly garlicky with such awesome flavor that I would go back just for that! Great deal for tasty food!

  • Elizabeth N.

For the quality and cost of the food - you can't get any better. The food reminds me of some of the meals I had in Greece last summer (just as good as the real deal - because these guys ARE the real deal). They give you a pile of food too (I always have to take home a box). Even the salad is amazing. And the hummus (!!!)... I think I need to go there right now.

    (5)
  • Erin M.

No frills here. The food is clearly the star of the show. Quick friendly service at an amazingly affordable price. Try the chicken shawarma sandwich. You will not be disappointed. It's packed full of meat and super tasty. They even stack there own marinated chicken on a spit. You can get free views from the window outside. The hummus was one of the best I've ever had. I loved the fresh spicy jalapeño in the center. It added some nice spicy. The dish came with pita but the owner was nice enough to give me some special sesame bread to dip in. It was very good. The lentil soup is a standout along with the rice too. We had a fantastic lunch for $18 and all 3 of us left full with some pita in a bag. We can hardly wait to come back.

  • Julia V.

Best falafel sandwich I've ever had! Is it customary to add pickles? I thought it was an odd addition but it made it perfection. My boyfriend had the beef and lamb shawarma. The guy at the front desk (who was super nice) said they make it fresh daily. You can definitely tell. I think they deliver to us too. Wooooo! Best find this year so far!

We've been waiting for this gyro/shawarma place to open on Division Street right off Damen and are happy to welcome them to the neighborhood. It fIrst caught our notice with the grass green bright interior. Further exploration found a decent amount of seating inside and free wifi. Upon entering you immediately notice gigantic meats rotating on splits - lamb and beef. I ordered chicken shawarma and a veggie combo to go. The service was friendly but not quite up to takeout now speed. My husband said the shawarma was fine and my veggie combo was just okay. The falafel in my combo lacked that fresh crunchy texture that makes falafel really delicious. It's hard not to make a comparison to the all mighty Sultan's which is a half mile away. If Sultan's is perfection, then Shawarma Garden is a good runner-up. This restaurant is just starting out so I'd keep an eye on this new kid on the block. Something to note - open late on Friday & Saturday night with a 2am close.

  • Jaclyn C.

Was a little skeptical of this place when it first opened. HOWEVER, they have the best beef shawarma I think I've ever had. I love the addition of pickles on their sandwiches. The only thing I'd improve on is speed of service. But really, the staff is so nice and attentive that it doesn't even matter. Visit soon!

I've only ordered delivery, but my God this place is freaking delicious. I don't know if I've had better food. Just amazing with how fresh and flavorful everything tastes. I highly recommend the combo shawarma platter.

This place is seriously awesome. Great food for the price. Delivery was about a half hour and the people were very nice that took the order and brought the food. Gryo - not greasy. so good. 4 meat plate - so much foor for $13. Rice is outstanding. Lentil soup - better than average. Tangy, not too salty. Will order again for sure.

Best shawarma in Chicago. Period. Order of magnitude better than Sultans which oddly seems to be the standard I. These parts.

  • Autumn H.

YUM! I'm very happy this place opens up and hope the food they are turning out stays as good as it has been. The customer service is kind and really care about what you think. They are better than many greek places I have tried in Chicago. Sure it's they same old fast food style greek food, but done to perfection. If you're vegetarian, the hummus and falafel are amazing. No nasty dry falafel here. YUM. What I love even more is the meats, specifically the Gyro Sandwich and the Shawarma lamb and beef. The spices are subtle and taste homemade. The only thing I wish is they had a fries to go with my Gyro. I know it's cheesy but I like fries.

Really nice staff and good food. The ambience is lacking though, so get your food to go. They have very generous portions as well.

  • Steve M.

I saw that this place had opened, and being the chicken-schwarma-addled freak that I am, I had to give it a spin. The portions are generous, and the staff is super friendly. I had a chicken schwarma plate, which comes with a ton of rice, pita, hummus, and jerusalem salad. The chicken schwarma was delicious - shaved thinly, so that each piece has a nice balance of juicy and charry from the spit. The spices were great too. Some pieces were a little bit on the dryer side. This is in contrast to a Sultan's Market schwarma that stays moist by sitting in a hot tray all day with a ton of other stuff. I would call this a "dry rub" version of schwarma where Sultans' is more of a marinaded or "wet" version. Either way, it was delicious in it's own rite! I'll definitely be back!

I've said it before and I'll say it again...the entire West Town area needs more fast casual places like this. I'm a big fan of Shawarma Garden. I've been here twice since it opened and the food has been great both times. It's pretty affordable since it's more casual, but not low quality. I've had the gyro and the chicken shawarma and both have kept me satiated. Definitely recommend this place for a quick cheap meal.

  • L N.

The lamb and beef shawarma dinner is succulent. The meat is tender and delicious, the rice is perfect and buttery, the hummos is yummy. Comes with a small salad and pita bread. Had the tabbouli salad too which was good; refreshing. Lentil soup was flavorless and unappealing looking. Even after trying to doctor it up at home it was still bland. Will return for more shawarma in near future!

Awesome food drunk or sober. Nicest staff. Amazing seasoning. What more could you want?

  • Danielle S.

I had the beef & lamb shawarma plate... It was delicious! The Jerusalem salad was a bit heavily dressed but otherwise the food itself was by far the best I've had in Chicago and second only to Kabob Palace in DC. Service was good and prices reasonable. Not much in the ambience department but thats just the style of this place so its not really a negative. I will be coming back for sure and will probably be checking out their delivery radius as well!

I'm here at 1:58 on a Friday and have no idea where everyone else is. Having been seduced by the sirens song of late nite spots offering "food" that would normally induce retching in those of full and clear hearts, the silence here is deafening. Hark wicker parkians! There are few places on division with edible offerings during normal hours. That this spot offers mana until 2 on Fridays is far more than we deserve. I suggest the combo platter for cost and time effective purposes, but am eagerly awaiting gyro

I really wanted to love this place. Really. But a few things soured me. The good: People working there were friendly and service was good. Food was prepared quickly. My gyro sandwich was good, but nothing exceptional. My wife had a chicken shwarma plate that was good, but, much like the gyro, was overall bland and lacking seasoning. The bad: The menu board said the sandwich came with a pickle. I didn't get a pickle. Also, the falafels were dense and bland. AND....they were supposed to come with tahini dipping sauce, but got none. So pretty hard to eat them without it. Overall. Meh. I wish I had received the tahini and pickle I was promised. And I wish the food had more flavor. Will I go back? Maybe.

i ordered the Lamb & Beef Shawarma.. it came with rice, salad, hummus, and a few pita bread .. i thought the meat was a little dry.. the lamb also has a bit of gamey taste to it which i ended up picking it out of my food.. other then that it was a decent meal..

Everything was really bland and flavorless. Truly disappointing, especially considering the other positive reviews. We got all veggie items, though, so maybe that's just not their strong suit.

Granted, I was STARVING after my yoga class...but this place is legit! Ordered the chicken shawarma plate, which comes with the delicious long grain rice, Jerusalem salad, and hummus (pita on the side of course). The chicken was nicely seasoned and pretty juicy, not dry. The guys who run the place are friendly and when I asked one of them of the types of sauces they had, he was happy to give me a few to try with my meal. I think I'll always want to go with all of them: Tahini, Tzatziki, Garlic and hot sauce. Yum! Can't wait to eat my leftovers today for lunch. Like many have said, the service is QUICK. I ordered the food and they prepared it immediately, which was perfect since I really needed it ASAP before hanger would creep in. That creeper.

We've gotten delivery from here a couple of times - now that Chickpea is closed, we were looking for a new go-to Mediterranean spot. I've tried the gyros and the greek salad with gyro meat. The meat was super salty both times I tried it, so I don't think I'd order gyros from them again. My husband got the 4 meat kabab plate one time and the falafel sandwich the other time. The kababs were fine, and the falafel is really tasty. I'd give this place another shot, but I'd probably skip the gyros - Greek Corner has the market cornered on those.

  • Brandon M.

This Mediterranean restaurant is my new favorite in this neighborhood. For obvious reasons it will be compared to falafel grill on Milwaukee. I think that Shawarma Garden exceeds the others because it is much cleaner and slightly cheaper. The people were very nice and were willing to talk to you. I got shawarma plate and everything was great. Sometimes shawarma can get dry, but this was tender and super tasty. It was a lot of food and came with hummus, puts bread, salad, and rice. It was actually a lot of meat and probably more than they could fit in a sandwich. I would recommend this place to anyone and I look forward to heading back soon.

  • Rebecca R.

Came in here after a night where it got too late to cook anything because I was starving. It is near my house, so I ran down to grab a sandwich. They were very nice and and didn't rush me when I wanted to take a minute to look at the menu. As soon as I was ready, they were there to take my order. My reasonably priced six dollar gyro was ready and I ran home and devoured it. Full of flavor with plenty of cucumber sauce, my favorite! I will be back again to try some Shwarma soon I'm sure. It'll be good again for dinner or late night!

Ordered takeout from here for the first time last night. Hummus was very good, but did not come with pita. Shawarma was messy and not very good. Ended up picking the meat out of it. Falafel was mediocre.

This new Middle Eastern restaurant that has recently opened in Wicker Park on 1951 W Division St. is absolutely delicious. From their Shawarma to their Falafel to their Kabobs. Everything is marinated with such flavor and then cooked to perfection. The staff is amazing. I love the Chicken Shawarma. Btw the open Till 2am on the weekends. Shawarma Garden check them out you, won't be disappointed

Awesome! These guys know how to do it right. I had a chicken shawarma platter and loved it. The rice in these places is usually a throw away, but this was really well seasoned and delicious. I ordered again from then the other day and tried the veggie combo and it was also great. I really like that they warm the pitas for you. The only problem I had was that I ordered two sodas with my meal that they forgot to put in the bag. Not a deal breaker, but kind of annoying. Today, I was walking by (i live two blocks away) and the guy from the restaurant comes running down the street after me with 2 diet cokes! It was really nice of him to remember and hunt me down. And they have only been open a few weeks, so I am sure things will only get better. The only other thing I can say is that it is not the fastest casual food ever, but it because they actually take the time to prepare things to order and don't have food sitting around which makes everything taste so much better. And we are talking about five or ten minutes. I think it is better than Sultan's.

Coming from a brown person, they may have the best chicken shawarma ever. The guys are friendly and the atmosphere is perfect. Stop in for lunch, dinner or late night- you will not be disappointed.

Very brief - this place is simple, workers are friendly, and food is well-priced. I've only had the chicken shawarma and gyros (though a handful of times on each), and they are both absolutely delicious. This is my go-to in the neighborhood when I want something quick and tasty.

Stopped in today and so happy to see that they are open. This Lebanese/ Middle Eastern restaurant is rock solid. Entree's come with excellent hummus, tomato-cucumber yogurt salad and toasty pita. The lamb shawarma is nicely seasoned and juicy with a great grill note. The Kifta Kebab is delicious and juicy. You get a feast for a ridiculously affordable price. They have a nice sandwich and salad menu as well. There is dine in room for about 20 or so people. This will now be in my repertoire of take out places too. By the way, the owners are so nice and they are obviously happy people who are proud of there food....they should be. It is excellent. Check out the photos of my meal, you can see the quality.

Dudes who work here are really nice. Food is pretty rad, too. Pretty awesome place if you're feeling too lazy to make the walk over to Falafel and Grill. It's also slightly cheaper than that place, too, which is cool. A bit of advice, though: Better off ordering the sandwich instead of the full dinner plate. This goes for most shawarma places. You just end up paying more for pretty much the same amount of food, except now it's all spread out in on a plate instead of wrapped up in bread. Just get the sandwich. Get two sandwiches. Bring one to me. I'll give you a beer. Thanks, dudes.

Legit coming out of Yelp retirement for this. SO. Yes. So good. Stupid good. I think the gyros at Greek Corner (Damen and Augusta) are a tad better, but nothing touches the beef and lamb shawarma plate at Shawarma Garden. The spinach pies are insanely good. This place is so good. Also they're so nice. Also the hummus is incredible. Also the hot sauce. Go here, please.

For the price the food is great! The quality of chicken is pretty good.

Best Mediterranean food in the area. Best baba ghanoush we have ever had to include in the Mediterranean. Friendly staff. Fast service. Reasonable prices.

Great Gyro and potatoes. I have been waiting for a place like this in the area cause the one down on Augusta and Damen is just too inconsistent! Prices are good. They said they applied for the BYOB license so that means, beer baby!

Exactly what you want from a gyro meal. Great meat and sauce, warm fresh pita and a few fresh veggies. I'm also a huge fan of the lentil soup with fresh lemon. They earned some bonus point when I peeked into the back room and saw them prepping their giant meat skewers themselves (since I always thought this was something you just ordered pre-made).

Consistently great food at reasonable prices. The hummus is topped with a spicy jalepeno purée, a nice touch. The chicken shwarma has a subtle curry flavor, delicious. Try the spinach pies, they're home made.

This has become my go-to take out spot. I love love love the the lamb and beef shawarma plate. It comes with hummus and enough meat, rise and pitas for practically three meals! I always get an extra pita and use it - which means the meat and rice works out to four full pitas. All that for about $11. I am so happy to have this place in the neighborhood.

I had them cater a party for me this weekend. They were very easy to work with (flexible, arrived on time, etc.) and the food was great. All my guests loved it. And there was so much of it. It's a great value and the quality is excellent. I will definitely use them in the future. Plus, they're nice guys, so I'm happy to give them the business.

Yum. Wanted the chicken shawarma but it wasn't ready yet. Got the gyro plate so glad I did, it was delish! Loved the hummus that came with it and greek salad. The olive oil they use had such a depth of flavor. Definitely a new to go place in my future!

This place is great! My coworker and I were looking for a new place to try for lunch and came across Shawarma Garden. The staff is super nice and the place is clean. We didn't have to wait long for the food either. I had the chicken kabob entree which comes with rice, Jerusalem salad, hummus & pita bread while my coworker had the gryos plate. They also have a tasty hot sauce if you like your meals on the spicy side. We had more than enough for leftovers as the entrees are big and the staff even gave us 2 free falafels to try. I will definitely be coming back to this place and try more of their items. I highly recommend Shawarma Garden.

Huge proportions and very friendly staff. Nice that its open late, definitely healthier than Picante across the street for late night munchies.

Tried out Shawarma Garden for the first time today. Went for the Veggie Combo, which their menu states comes with falafel, grape leaves, hummus as well as rice and Jerusalem salad. After getting home noticed they did not include any rice in mine, and instead of Jerusalem it was a tabouleh salad. Perplexed as to whether this was an error or they decided to change their menu. Not at all a good value for $8 if it is the latter. The falafel was alright and thus they get the 2 stars. I would suggest sticking with my go-to Falafel & Grill or Sultan's over this place.

Really great food. I'm not embarrassed to admit that since this place opened (2 weeks ago) I've eaten there four times. It doesn't hurt that it's around the corner from my apartment. I would say as good as Sultan's, plus they take credit cards. I've tried 3 different menu items, and all have been great (though they did once forget the pita bread, which is a must for a great experience).

Shwarma was legit. Decor is meh, good for carry out. Servers are very friendly. I'll definitely come back for more.

Ive been waiting for this place to open up for a while and had high expectations... and needless to say they did not disappoint. I got the falafel wrap and it was good! They packed it full of falafel and for dessert I tried to get baklava but they hadn't made their batch yet but the guy behind the counter gave me a free piece. Overall they were super friendly and the food was delicious... Im excited to go back again.

Awesome food and awesome owners! They are so friendly and their food is always fresh and reasonable. My favorites are the chicken shawarma on the greek salad and their falafel sandwich. Honestly though i haven't had anything there that I didn't like.

Beyond delicious! Even the rice, which I usually view as a filler, had me gushing. We ordered through GrubHub and the serving size for the Gyro Plate and the 4 Meat Combination were enough for 4 large and satisfying meals. And the Garlic Dip? So good. Can't wait to try everything else! Welcome to the neighborhood!!

I just got back from eating here and it was fantastic. The staff was SUPER nice and accommodating and the food was great. Schwarma and gyros plates were good and huge. Enough for another meal. We ate inside and it was cozy and we even got se free falafel. I can see myself being a regular here.

Really delicious and the people there are friendly. Chicken shawarma was even better than the beef/lamb version, and the falafel was really crisp and tasty too. Big portions. There are a few seats, but it's really more of a take out place. I will be doing that regularly!

As falafel freaks John and I have long lamented the lack of a top notch Middle Eastern joint in Bucktown/Wicker Park. No longer. Sam, the former owner of Universal Liquors on North at Wood, has recently opened Shawarma Garden at 1951 W Division, just east of Damen. The make their own falafels from scratch and their meat and veggies are never frozen. Best lamb shawarma we've had in years. Lentil soup too. Prices are quite reasonable as Sam and son Nader try to grow a customer base. Lots of vegetarian options. They have take out, of course, and a delivery option. Highly recommended!! I live this place. Amazing service. The salads are fresh and yummy. Gyros are the best. Falafel eps are so very yummy. All for a great price. I recommend trying the Shawarma plate. It's a lot of food but so very yummy.

Gyro was delicious and filling. Quick service and friendly staff. Ordered online and my food was ready in minutes. Falafel was delicious and I had plenty of sauce for all meals. To the guy complaining about sauce how about asking for sauce before you leave? Lentil soup is amazing as well. I will be back for sure. Oh and I was sober.

What a great spot, delicious food and large quantities. We dined in. My hubby had the gyro plater and I had the shawarma platter, everything was delicious! We even had some to take home. We'll be trying everthing on the menu. Took the leftovers home and my 5 year kid was eating it up! Awesome place!

Food came quick when I ordered from grubhub. A great deal for all the food except everything was under salted. I rarely if ever salt my food, but had to in order to taste the other spices. I will definitely order from here again, but hope the owners take note as the food would be much better than it already is if they just added some salt! Please don't make the food salty, just a light sprinkle on everything when marinating/ precooking!

The owners and workers are really nice and attentive. I would call the food just alright but nothing special. It fulfills the evening hunger urge when we're too tired to cook...

This place is great! We have done both take out and eat in and they do a great job. So far everything on the menu has been great and the hummus is wonderful. The customer service for the eat in experience is really great too and they hook you up with anything you might be missing. I love middle eastern food and my boyfriend is extremely picky about it but we have fallen in love with this place, and it being only 2 blocks away is even more of a bonus. (we used to head to 6-corners area which is 4 blocks for us). Definetly worth it.
