I just want to take the time recognize that management and staff at the Chicago - Diversey location. I had dinner there last night with my husband and our 3 month old. The manager and staff were very courteous and helpful. They went above and beyond with assisting us since our hands were full (diaper bag in my hand and 3 month old in carseat in my husband's hand). This Qdoba location is not close to our home but we will definitely go out of our way to eat here more often.

I love this location. Never crowded, the employees are always--and I really mean always--energetic and seem to enjoy pleasing customers, and the restaurant is conveniently next to the Diversey station on the Brown Line. Qdoba recently changed their process, so all the things that used to be add-ons such as queso and guacamole are now free. I also like their loyalty program--easy to use, and lots of ways to redeem points for food.

Straight up just a crappier version of Chipotle. Plus, the staff at this location are not helpful- more interested in their TV show of girls in bikinis left on mute than the food. I had 3 crispy corn tacos, which are not so crispy after all. VERY stale, and the worker who put them together for me first told me they had soft corn tacos, gave me a look like I was crazy when I asked for them and then informed me (as if it was my fault) that "they don't do soft corn any more. Just crispy." Anyway, the taco shells were quite chewy. The pulled pork wasn't horrible, but definitely underseasoned. Had to put a lot of Cholula on them to make it worthwhile. All around, chipotle's tacos are better and more flavorful. For $9, three tacos at Qdoba are just not worth it.

I found a ladybug in my qdoba bowl. Disgusting. The manager didn't care, I had to ask her several times to give me a refund, even then she was reluctant to do so and wasn't helpful/didn't care. Gross establishment. I will take my business elsewhere to CHIPOTLE. Shame on you Poodoba.

Really friendly staff at this location. Queso... delicious. The "Pick Two" menu is one of the greatest ideas of all of fast food chains.

I used to be a big fan of Qdoba, but either the quality of their ingredients have gone downhill or my tastes have changed. Either way, I'm not a fan of their meats any longer. While Qdoba does have vegetarian options, they practically punish vegetarians with higher prices on similar products. Take the vegetarian nachos for example, they cost the same as chicken nachos and the only difference is no chicken. Something similar to the veggie burrito would be nice, with free guacamole in place of the meat. They also charge extra for fajita veggies, while their competition does not. I brought this up with their management at the beginning of the year, and someone did call me back from this location to ensure me they are looking into additional vegetarian options, and thanked me for bringing it up. They even invited me back in for a free entree of my choice. I never did receive a free entree, and when I went in to ask about it I was turned away. Needless to say, Qdoba will no longer be receiving any of my business. There are much better lunch options in Chicago.

Qdoba is Qdoba. The staff was really pleasant when I dropped in to grab a quick dinner to go.

Love their Mexican Gumbo soup! Filling and delicious! Place is clean and staff friendly. Better than Chipolte.

I don't frequently review locations of large chains, but I felt compelled to make an exception this time. I went into this Qdoba last weekend to pick up some food, and the service was just extraordinary. It's always refreshing when you can tell employees actually care about their jobs and making customers happy, and that's what I found here. The two staff members I encountered were both incredibly friendly and very understanding of my ordering from live text messages. They made what would normally be a mundane experience fun. The food was pretty good, as Qdoba tends to be in my experiences.

Sooooo fresh! I looove the nachos ;) Queso, black beans, ground beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, sour cream and LOTS of cilantro. Chips on the side so they don't get soggy. Kijuan was very customer service friendly!!! No more Chipoltle for me! Qdoba is what's up!!!!

One of the nicest and accommodating staffs I've ever come across in a Qdoba. Food tasted great and was prepared nicely.

Great burritos. I started liking Qdoba much better after I stopped putting the corn salsa on my burrito. I don't know what's in there, but it overpowers everything else for me. I recommend trying the whole wheat burrito. I get it with no cheese or sour cream to save about 500 calories. I consider it equal to Chipotle, basically with different flavors.

You're probably wondering why I am giving a chain faux Mexican restaurant five stars? Well, if you're a wannabe fatty boombatty like me, you maybe aren't wondering. You probably already know. one word. QUESO! I won't lie. I came here on Saturday night for an order of chips and queso. The sweet woman at the line asked, "Anything else?" Nope. Just chips and queso. That was my dinner on Saturday night. It's delicious, gooey, creamy, delightful, yummy and the answer to all of life's problems. I grew up in a home without things such a queso. My mom was a crazy marathon lady. She created a grown woman who will eat hot cheese and warm chips for dinner. Thanks, mom! The woman (manager?) was super fast and efficient on a busy Saturday night. My only tiny complaint about this store is that they are sometimes out of iced tea. How can I truly be happy without a huge paper cup of iced tea? Besides there being ample free parking in the lot, the best part about this place is that it's right next door to Lover's Lane! How can you not love a night of hot Mexican food AND HOT mannequins dressed in ridiculous clothing?! The male mannequin is always dressed particularly sexy, but I truly do wonder what is happening in his undies. What's in there? Maybe I will get finally meet the man of my dreams who will take me on a night great big fun. Dinner at Qdoba. Dessert at Lover's Lane!

Fast food non-authentic Mexican category: I'll give 'em 4 stars. We strolled in for burritos with all the fixins' a little before 11pm tonight... yes, they're open 'til 11pm on the weekdays! The first signature burrito that caught my eye was the poblano pesto, and you know what they say about trusting your gut (and a hungry one at that!). I dig the cilantro lime rice (cilantro anything, really) and they're quite generous with their toppings. I also hear they that don't use lard, and that their beans are vegan. So maybe they're a bit healthier than some of the Mexican joints slinging burritos out there? Still, I'm well aware of what I'm getting myself into: a huge flour tortilla filled with chicken, rice, cheese, salsa and sour cream is NEVER lo-cal. Friendly, fast service and a parking lot. In Lakeview for crying out loud! Alright, you're on the list, Qdoba!

I love Qdoba! The burrito is my go to. With chicken, black beans, queso, mild salsa, sour cream and more cheese!! Yes yes yes!! And they are so fast! The nachos and quesodillas are also delish!

Q-doba is greater than Chipotle. Fact. It's more flavorful, whereas I consider Chipotle pretty bland. The only thing that I wish they would do is grill the tortillas like Burrito Beach, because when they pile on all the goods, the tortilla can't sustain it's innards. I got the Sharp signature burrito, and was really impressed.

They have a parking lot which automatically results in a few stars. Good fresh food which is a good value. They have this you pick two mini entree combo thing which is perfect if you're not wanting a huge entree. Had a groupon for them, and I'm glad to learn they're in the neighborhood.

Another fine Qdoba. Friendly staff. Floor was a bit slippery and the dining room is crowded, but the food is as good as any other location. :)

Super nice employees, but not quite as flavorful as Chipotle, and I had sticker shock when I bought myself and a friend lunch today- these are $9 chicken burritos! Holy moly. (ok, $8.60 with tax, but close) I don't remember them being this expensive in the past- but apparently everything is included now. guac, queso, etc. I try and avoid those add-ons for caloric reasons, so I guess I'm paying for everyone else's extras. Awesome! Not a fan of this pricing structure. The only thing Qdoba has over Chipotle is the magic pop machine and the "punch card" system. (you know- buy 10 get one free) Otherwise? Chipotle it is!

Yeah for a healthy choice on a chain's menu! It's not completely fat free, but when you are running around and just don't want to eat crap, they have the Naked Taco Salad. Chicken, low fat chipotle ranch, lettuce, corn salsa, green salsa and for me a little guacamole, it's perfect. Service has always been good as well, and I took my kids over and they have a larger kids menu.

I went to the Yelp event, which already pushes this to three stars, because any restaurant willing to give me a free entree because I review things for fun --and therefore there's a possibility I might not review them favorably-- is pretty awesome. Anyway, the roommates (gf, bff and myself) and I were broke, so this was the perfect chance. My girlfriend and I had been to Qdoba before, bff had not. The girl wasn't a huge fan. So basically I'm the one talking up Qdoba and its queso and giant burritos here. Yet, everyone walked away happy. We walked in the door and were immediately greeted by a friendly woman who I assume is the manager who offered to point my less Qdoba-familiar friend in the right direction (she declined, but still, nice); the staff was friendly and engaged, and we got the drinks and normally extra condiments for free too -- yes, you heard that right, those little traps that usually make people pay for coupons were on the house -- which made my ENTIRE MEAL FREE. I mean, it's a Qdoba. Fast "Mexican" food. It has a number of variations on burritos, tacos, nachos, etc. For meat-eaters there's a range of fajita chicken, carne asada beef, etc, but obviously I haven't tried any of that. For me - there are a number more vegetarian options than Chipotle, which I like, and it also has really good queso, which I will be back for. (Weirdly enough, queso fundido of the actual "dip" kind has been INCREDIBLY hard to find around here, even at decidedly Tex-Mex places.) Their tortilla soup is vegetarian, which is awesome, and the manager helpfully informed us that the beans are too, which is a concern sometimes. I wish the place would take a hint from Moe's and invest in some tofu, but still. Good times. New-ish on their menu seems to be a Panera-like "you pick two" (I believe it's "craft 2" for Qdoba) option which offers two from a selection of smaller portions of nachos, tacos, soup, or...a couple other things (I will be back for tortilla soup and tacos, oh yes). Add to that the fact that this is one of the NICEST Qdobas I've ever been in, really clean and pretty, and that we were talking all night about how much more cheap and tasty this place is than Chipotle, and the only reason this isn't getting five stars is because, well, it feels wrong to give a fast food place five stars. (Also, their water button on the soda fountain wasn't serving water.) Four and a half? Definitely.

I love, love, love Qdoba. They have a great variety on their menu & the is a craft two menu which allows you to have a realistic size portion of your fave things. I use it to get the 3-cheese nachos. The queso is yummy, but straight to the hips it goes. So this is the perfect size. A dieter's dream. There is no need to compare Qdoba. It stands alone. It is my Mex heaven.

This Qdoba just opened. I tried to go before they opened and one of the workers came out and gave me a free entree coupon. This is a great tactic to get my business! I tried it the other day and fell in love. It's very similar to Chipotle. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. My friend got the famous queso dip. I tried some and it's definitely worth it!!! Delicious.

This place needs a staff overhaul. So I go in there and the dude is grabbing cardboard boxes full of tortillas with his gloves on and cutting them open...not a big deal. Next though, he keeps his gloves on and starts making my burrito. DISGUSTING! Who knows where else those gloves have been. I went online and complained simply due to the grossness factor of 8.7. I was surprised when a really nice lady called me and offered to send me a gift card so I could re-establish myself as a customer. The gift card never came...waaa waaa. Even though this one is within walking distance, I'd rather drive.

The food is great but the service is bad. The servers - person who prepares the food doesn't smile at all. It looks like they are not happy that you came in to eat.

    1. They have queso. 2. They have two different kinds of veggies: fajita (peppers) and grilled (squash). 3. Their meat doesn't make me ill like their *cough* largest competitor. 4. They have a nutritional calculator on their website. Way better than Chipotle.

  • Vanessa F.

Chipotle Junior. There's not really any better way to describe it. I couldn't really tell you the difference between the burrito I just had and the latest burrito I got from Chipotle. The reason I go here instead of Chipotle is because their habenero sauce is hotter. I loves my spicy food. It is filling and tasty and good and fast.

I love this place! I stop here for food once or twice a week, and they have never let me down. The staff is friendly, the food well done, and the place is always clean. I also like the fact that no matter how busy they are, they never fail to offer me a better deal, and to remind me about my club card. Again, it's clean, and for me that can be a deal breaker.

Qdoba is the shit, I love this place. I would go here any day over Chipotle because they have more options, mainly their queso fucking rules. You could smother a piece of dog shit in their queso and it would still taste pretty good. Trust me, I know from experience.

Being from Colorado, I like to think I am a connoisseur on big burritos. The first Chipotle was founded in Denver back before McDonalds took over and I believe Qdoba branched off from that. Most people from Colorado are extremely partial to Chipotle but I think Qdoba is better. Back to the review... This is a newer location and closer to where I live. One of the many perks about this Qdoba is location. It's right next to the Diversey Brown Line stop and has a parking lot with FREE parking. The parking issue was one of the things that annoyed me most about the Fullerton location. I eat here at least twice a week. A major perk about Qdoba is that you just don't have to get a burrito. They have variety on their menu which is something Chipotle lacks. The tortillas are softer and Qdoba specializes in two sauces that make the perfect burrito; the queso and habenero sauces. Queso, enough said. Habenero, well let's just say I am tired of the hottest sauce from Chipotle tasting like burnt crushed red pepper that is not very hot to begin with. The staff here is great. They realize the value in customer loyalty and always say hi when I visit. It's not the factory-type line found at Chipotle. Last, if you are a student, don't forget your student ID. You can get a free medium drink with your purchase just for showing it. Very cool considering the Chicago Chipotle's seem very anti-student drink considering they started the trend in Denver.

This place gets a two star rating, only because I didn't have to rush home after eating here. Other than that one postive, everything else deserved a one star. The chicken burritto was so bland, I had to use half a bottle of Cholula hot sauce. I dont understand how this place got multiple 4 star ratings. So if you give this place a 4 star, then you must be giving Taco Bell a 3 star???

Authentic? Who cares... you pretentious yelpster foodie. The chips are addictive. Sure, you scoff when the big scoop is raised to fetch your order... but then you start trying to haggle and score more chips. Before you know it, you have salsa, guacamole, sour cream and queso. Then it's all gone and you are already contemplating when you are going to devour even more though your stomach is full, you are a little pained from eating too much. Ow. More Please. I want. I think. Mmmmm... roll me out.

While taking a walk today I decided to go in and grab a bite. The place is spacious and quiet-which is a good thing most of the time but I now realize why it was empty. The young woman who helped me acted annoyed and impatient. I worked in the restaurant biz for years, so I know hoe to order in an efficient manner. She was rushing both me and my husband to order and while preparing our meals (tortilla soup and vegi burrito) she did so sloppily. The burrito was falling apart and when I asked if she placed the tortilla chips that went with the soup in the bowl, she quickly tossed them into my tray while several were falling all over the counter. She was rude and the ambiance is extremely cold. The food tasted like I ate a pile of salt. Bad food, bad service. The young woman working the counter needs a serious attitude check.

I'm going with 4 stars because this is Qdoba. It ain't fancy. It'll never get 5 stars in my book because it's a freaking Qdoba. But, it was a good Qdoba. How do I know? Because they gave yelpers a free meal with coupon today, so my entire household ate free. Party at the Qdoba tonight, fools. But seriously, my food was hot and filling and actually good, which is amazing because I normally hate Qdoba. So if I ever decide I want quick tex-mex, heavy on the tex (or possibly on the midwest), I'll go to this location. It's a lot of food for cheap and they actually probably gave away most of the food they served today since the joint was filled to the brim with yelpers and not many other folks tonight. Even making no profit and giving away free stainless steel water bottles, the employees were all smiles and totally helpful. The place in brand spanking new and thus is clean and well organized. They have a ton of salsas (as is customary in Qdoba) and two different hot sauce options by the drinks. On the whole, it made me very happy to have food and drink that were solid and definitely of great quality for what they are. Maybe having hated Qdoba in the past set the bar really low for them, but everyone in my party was happy and we had fun, and that's what matters.

It's weird to review a corporate place. I just happen to think that Qdoba does this burrito thing better than many of their non-corporate competitors. And to me Qdoba and Chipotle are interchangeable, though I have a slight preference for the latter's interiors.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
