Clever idea, nicely implemented: Canadian interpretation of BBQ plus Montreal's staple, poutine. Spotless "Airstream" interior decor with a great condiments table featuring different styles of Q sauces. Service was superb and portions are generous. This was our first visit so we shared the kitchen sink poutine, which gives a sample of most of their meats on top of their delicious fries/gravy/cheese curds. One person had the pulled pork sandwich; two split a rack of ribs with slaw, beans & cornbread sides. We left happy - in a mild food coma - with enough leftovers for 2 adults = good value. Beef BBQ is dry rub Memphis style but you can morph it into anything you want at re sauce table: Carolina, Kansas City, Texas. The ends were dry but the middle racks were tasty and filling. Slaw is fresh and delicious but tastes different from typical Chicago slaws. Same with the beans - an interesting combination of pinto beans that were a little crunchy rather than overcooked with lots of cumin. We all liked it. If you want run of the mill American BBQ and sweet mushy baked beans plus non- descript slaw...go somewhere else. If you're craving something that's tasty but a bit different, Q- tin might just hit the spot. Nice selection of iced cold adult beverages is an added attraction.

Came in on a Monday night at 7p and there were plenty of tables. Walk up ordering. Got some ribs, brisket, Marquez poutine, watermelon slushy margaritas, and corn dogs for the kids. The ribs were dry and a bit tough (I like a fall off the bone rib). The brisket was delicious. It was fatty and crispy. I think it would be better in sandwich form since it was so rich. The poutine was good, I think I got the wrong flavor, but the gravy was very good. Margarita slushy were not as good as Parsons, but fun and tasty. The sauces, although a nice selection, were not really needed on anything. They were also one dimensional. Best bbq in town? No. Fun to have in the neighborhood? Sure!

Went there late night around 10pm, good fast service food was great which was brought out to our table. Cheese curds were amazing, pulled pork sandwich was excellent and I don't like coleslaw but theirs was definitely an exceptional. Will be going back!!!

Did carryout and opted for the barbecue offerings rather than the poutine. Montreal meat sandwich was delish, but contained 4 paltry pieces of meat. Very disappointing given the cost. Smoked brisket trended more towards a burnt ends texture which my husband loved, but wasn't really my taste. On the side, my husband insisted on the corn dog, which he said rocked. Might come back again for the poutine and some other offerings, but for now....meh.

After a couple attempts to like Q-Tine, I can honestly say it's NOT great. Nothing special to eat here. The fries are terrible- they can't stand alone and be great and that's the first problem. How can poutine be great when the fries are SO BASIC? Hand-cut? Big deal they taste like a 12 year old cooked them. I've had frozen, oven baked fries that taste way better than the fries here. Each visit we gave chicken wings a chance and each time they came out way over-cooked and dry on the inside. Forget the delicious sauce on them- the wings are so overcooked and dry on the inside, when you bite into them the dryness is an immediate turn-off. Chicken shouldn't taste like a mouthful of sand. I can go on about other menu dishes but I'll just leave. There's nothing left to read here or eat there.

You don't need to be Canadian to love fries, cheese curds and gravy combined. I've been missing my poutine fix since Bad Happy closed, so seeing this place open was awesome. I had the Coach Q, and promptly ate it all like a duck (pigs tend to chew). Loved every forkful. Good selection of craft beers, too. I'll definitely be back!

I love this place- have been 4 times- first time I had the brisket sandwich, the next 3 times it was the pulled pork- I was hooked - The French Fries are fresh and tasty, the slaw on the Pulled Pork was perfect, nice pickle too. And a great selection of sauces- (try the white bbq sauce) There is a lot more I still need to try, I will be back ... Friendly staff too, it's a nice clean space with ample seating. It's counter service, which is fine by me.

Canadian here. rabid poutine advocate. Once I found out you guys exist, I had to come by right away. Its the closest thing to proper Canadian poutine being sold in Chicago right now, as far as I can tell. Badhappy may have edged you out by a bit, but they are gone, and here is your chance to shine. Now, I'm not sure what exactly was wrong, as it was very close, but there was something odd about the curds. They just didn't want to melt, and the most tasty of poutine tends to. Even after I buried them in fries and gravy, they just kind of sat there. They didn't seem to be refrigerated (as curd should never be), and seemed to be warm enough that I thought they should melt, but I just couldn't make it happen. Maybe a narrower, deeper bowl would concentrate some of that heat, but it may be easier to find a curd with a slightly lower melting point. Either way, I'll be back for more, as it was definitely the best I've had since my last trip to Canada. Glad to have the restaurant in the neighborhood.

I really liked this place. Tuesday night 8 pm. Great service and pulled pork sandwich was excellent. Good sauces and you can kick them up with hot sauces if you like. Fries were super crisp and I will be coming back. Fun layout

I was killing time in Logan Square while I waited to pick my husband up from O'hare. I just happened to find a parking spot right in front of Q-Tine and I also had just read about it opening on Chicago Eater. I only had an appetite for a snack so I ordered the Q Classic poutine ($5.99). Fries hold up to the gravy and aren't soggy right away. Great chewy bite to white cheddar cheese curds. Gravy has great flavor but the texture was just a bit thick and lumpy. Condiment station has 4 different sauces: white, mustard-like, BBQ, cayenne wasabi bbq. Poutine didn't really need it. They serve a good range of local beers. I ordered their house iced tea ($1.99) and was very pleased. Not as many poutine options as Big Poutinere in Wrigleyville but that's probably since they offer some BBQ dishes too.

Very good solid poutine, but the barbecue sauces were the highlight. The standard red and mustard sauces were what I expected, and were quite good; the white horseradish sauce was unexpected and awesome!.

I had been drinking and poutine was what I needed. Let's not get overly "yelpy" here. It's fries. With gravy. And other assorted toppings. They aren't going to mess it up, and you're probably going to be intoxicated when you're eating it. The coleslaw was insane delicious. I mixed the mustard sauce, the white BBQ sauce, and hot sauce together to create a new sauce that was more powerful than you could imagine. Great price point and I look forward to having a sixer of Old Style and coming back.

We left the bar early in anticipation of eating poutine and were very disappointed to be turned away at the door (they were still unlocked). The bouncer told us to come earlier then looked at his watch and realized it was still before 1 am and apologized. He double checked with the kitchen and came back outside, apologized again, and let us know they were out of gravy. He was genuinely nice but pointed us in the direction of a few " late night pizza places" frustratingly he told us to "try again tomorrow". The sign clearly says open til 4am so very disappointed to be turned away before 1 am

I love that its open so late! Who doesn't want BBQ at that time of night at an amazing location. I have to say that the ribs were just okay, but I also personally prefer ribs with lots of sauce. The sides were not very memorable, but I did like the corn bread. The watermelon margarita slushie was pretty pricey but tasted great. I had my friends poutine and it was awesome! Definitely get that if you come here. Friendly staff as well!

Wasn't much a fan of the poutine but the pulled pork and sides (slaw, cornbread, beans) were excellent. Not sure why everyone is bitching about a NEW establishment. These things take time and money people! Overall a very cool addition to the neighborhood!

Without a doubt the best poutine in Chicago. Also, the staff went out of their way to make our experience awesome. I highly recommend you try this place out if you're a poutine fan!

Very friendly, clean, and food was delicious. Boyfriend and I spotted it going home and decided to check it out. Ordered the brisket plate, and the "Coach Q" Poutine. I tried a few the sauces red BBQ stax, yellow mustard, and white horseradish. The brisket plate came with good Cole slaw, spiced beans, and cornbread. Need to head back soon.

Stopped at Q-tine yesterday afternoon for a 'snack'. It was happy hour so everything we ordered was 50% off. We ordered the Classic Poutine (curds and gravy), a corn dog (it was HUGE - that's what she said) and 2 Molson beers. All came out to a little over $10 for Happy Hour. Food was great. The gravy on the curds was good although I could have used a couple of more curds. The fries held up well considered they were covered in the gravy and half melted curds! The corn dog was delicious. Forgot to mention that have a few different sauce offerings. We tried this white sauce (I think they called it white BBQ) which was more like a horseradish-type sauce and they have what I would equate to HP Sauce. Will definitely be back. oh and they are open to 4am on Friday and Saturday! score!

Boyfriend & I decided to check this place out tonight and it was deeeelish! The cashier girl was super nice and attentive along with the rest of the staff. My sandwich was the bomb dot com and the lime chili (or chili lime) sauce literally made it perfection. This place has a lot of potential to fix some negative reviews posted, it is fairly new so let's all keep that in mind. Overall, our experience was great and we left beyond satisfied! Thank you qtine, we shall meet again!

Tried this place last night at 1am. I had the beef brisket and the classic poutine. We got the order to go so I didn't know that the brisket had no bbq sauce on the sandwich. It was still pretty delicious though. The poutine, was a bit soggy and as others have said the fries are indeed from a bag and very bland alone. I tried my friends 3 little pigs poutine and I wish I had gotten that one instead! It was bacon, pulled pork and cheese. So delicious! The staff is also friendly even late at night. And orders seemed to get out rather quickly.

    (4)
  • Ross H.

Much MUCH better. The last three times I went, the poutine was actually hot, lending itself to the now-smooth gravy melting the curds and being a true Canadian delicacy. I wish they used a more soothing "yellow" light, rather than the harsh white florescent lights, but as long as the food is good, it's not a huge deal.

Had the half slab, wife Han the chicken(looked like 1/4 white)both were very dry, mine was edible, but my wife was too dry to eat. Could've been even old. Very disappointed in this place I was looking forward to a good barbecue place in Logan Square.

Consistently great, always awesome. Q-Tine's become my go-to when it comes to a hearty meal with friends. Loved the Apple Pie Poutine, and you can't go wrong with BBQ + poutine.

Been here twice now. I love the meat, slaw, fries, curds, and sauces. I thought the baked beans were a little dry, but that is the only thing I didn't LOVE. The prices are super reasonable. I will be back. Maybe immediately.

What's wrong with people on here? This place was awesome. Come on, the fbi fries were so amazing and I could have them everyday. I met the manager Gaby and Amber, they were both so nice and took great care of me. I love this place....so maybe some of these people should try it again.

Just had delivery. Do NOT order the cole slaw. It was a bunch of lettuce with I dressing for $2. On the flip side,Garbage plate was really good.

I ordered the Pulled Pork Q via Postmates as part of a promotion for free, on-demand Q-Tine. I didn't expect much, since it was free, but Q-Tine far exceeded my expectations! I received a full size, hot order of fries topped with gravy and a generous amount of cheese curds and meat. Way more than I thought would receive, even if I had paid full price. It was enough for 2 meals, or maybe 1 if I didn't feel like I would have had a heart attack if I ate the full serving. The pulled pork was juicy and had great flavor, and the fries were fresh and not soggy, despite the gravy. My only complaint is that I wished there was more gravy; maybe this wouldn't have been an issue if I hadn't ordered in and had access to the condiment station. In any case, I was impressed and will definitely stop in next time I am in Logan Square to fulfill all of my poutine needs.

Hell yea. I got the $7 chicken dinner to-go and it was delicious. I heard mixed reviews from this place from my coworkers but I think it's pretty dank -- im excited to return

See those hours folks you know what that means. Late night alcohol-absorbing gifts from the Drunk Gods. Had my first ever poutine and it was excellent. Temperature was on point, gravy was good (and I'm not a big gravy person), and the sauces they offer are great. Horseradish, mustard, and hot sauce are all great options to enhance the mild poutine. The squeaky cheese curds, though a staple of poutine, I could skip. I mean cheese that doesn't melt!? Blasphemy! Otherwise this place has my vote.

I came in here one night with some friends ,after the bars, not knowing what to expect. We ended up ordering the kitchen sink and it was enough to fill up 3 normal sized ppl. I definitely need to try more on the menu next time.

  • Denise C.

First I'm giving them a three out of fairness because I only had one thing on the menu. That was the classic poutine. Now cheese curds are most favorite food in the entire world. I am also from Wisconsin. So naturally I also Love pouting. And cheese curds are hard to find in Chicago. Let alone good SQUEAKY CHEESE CURDS. So the first thing I noticed was the cheese curds are indeed squeaky. But the gravy is not good. Salty and to much. And there was not many curds on my fries. Overall I was not satisfied. And I was so excited to have a place with curds right by my house. The service was great...... If only they sold cheese curds by themselves. :(

Just left and I have to say they have new poutines and the one I had " the Zeus" was amazing!!! Gyro poutine are you serious. The halal sauce is awesome! I have to go back and try the "Garbage plate?"

This place is amazing! When I first started to look at the menu I thought to myself, "I want everything on this menu!" As I looked closer, they have an item called "The Kitchen Sink" which is exactly as it sounds, the highlights on their menu in one large shareable format. If you have a couple friends that don't mind sharing and want to test out their menu I would highly recommend it. We also got the cornbread. It wasn't the best cornbread in the world but still above par. Their selection of sauces had a great range, from tangy to sweet to spicy. I especially liked the mustard based sauce, a close second was the horseradish based one, both very different but good in their own way. All in all, a must for anyone who likes poutine, and highly suggested for those who just want Barbeque (the pulled pork was awesome!).

  • Jeremy M.

Went on their opening night and it was amazing! The classic poutine was simply perfect. Returned five days later to relive the dream, only to find the portion size of the same order to now be 1/2 to 1/3 the size of our previous trip. And the fries? Where before the fry to gravy ratio was in perfect harmony, the fries on trip two now swam in a pool of gravy. Would gladly get fat here if things return to form but this dramatic a change in a few days makes me very cautious.

  • Steve M.

I had high hopes for this place, I mean how can you mess up Fries and gravy? I got the coach q. The fries tasted like frozen, not fresh cut, the gravy tasted like it was out of a can and the meat lacked proper seasoning, in addition to being chewy and fatty. The kicker is that for 12 bucks, the portion size wouldn't fill up one hungry person, let alone 2. If you want good poutine, check out frite street.. If you want bbq, go to Smoque.

    (1)
  • Edilberto B.

It is very good, I had the pouting. But it is kind of expensive. I have not tried everything so I will give it another chance to see what else is good.

    (4)
  • Kristen C.

We tried the Coach Q. For around $11 total it was less than impressive. First all three sauces didn't do it for us-needs a lot of improvement! The fries were typical frozen fries and the portion size was pretty small...for one person...don't attempt to share these. The gravy was basic instant gravy tasting and the meat was over half fat and had the texture of jerky. The meat was flavorless and overcooked. Big let down! If you want great poutine and/or BBQ go to Smoque or Fat Willies.

I, like many others have happened to stumble upon Q-Tine late night after one too many scotches and thriving with an appetite for some good grub. Little to my knowledge I would quickly fall into the deepest of emotional realtionships with my meal and a bbq sauce which name derives from childhood nostalgic conversations with my beloved Jewish grandmother which is called the "Oy Vey" white bbq sauce. My first meal was the Smoked Quarter Chicken ($6.99) which was accompanied with their non-sweet Q-Beans, Cold Coleslaw and Traditional Cornbread. The leg and the thigh skin had just the right amount of crisp and color which was already a step in the right direction because chicken skin tends to be a little chewy. Since chicken is already low in fat it will dry out in prolonged low temperatures. With that being said, the chicken meat itself had a delicious hint of smoke and the approiate amount of tenderness. The non-sweet Q-Beans weren't your typical side order of bbqed baked beans that you would order at any another bbq restaurant. These beans reminded me of a hybrid between baked beans and pinto consistency. The subtle bbq flavor wasn't overpowering, and the play on the non-sweet side of the tracks complimented the meal with its creamy smokiness which power played into the Cold Coleslaw which was fantastic. Personally, I am not a fan of a coleslaw ratio thats 95% creamy consistency unless that item is topping a bbq pulled pork sandwich. The coleslaw had a wonderful crunch and a delicate sweetness that made you want to keep digging in for more. Lastly, the Traditional Cornbread which is a must have accompaniment. I am not sure what I enjoyed more, the huge portion of well prepared cornbread or the fact that the sauce station had a squeeze tube of honey I could take advantage of and utterly drown my cornbread in. My second time drunkly dining at Q-Tine involved their namesake Poutine, and 1/2 slab of ribs. I tried the Merguez Banguise, which was the spicy Moroccan style sausage, red peppers all on top of their classic Poutine. The Fries had the good Medium thickness, the cheese curds were of desired texture, and the gravy had the light and thin consistency you'd look for which presented the salty and mildly spicy qualities. The combination of the traditional poutine recipe and the Moroccan flare definitely was a delicious twist on a variation of the dish. While having to pry myself from wanting annihilate the Mequez Banguise animalisticly, I had to take a moment to appreciate the godly slab of meat staring me in the face and teasing me like a virgin. The 1/2 slab was surely not enough, in the meaning that I wanted to keep ordering more but my stomach wouldn't allow it suffice what my tastebuds said. The ribs are not "Fall off the Bone", but if you know anything about properly smoked meats you'd know that slathered and fall of the bone is not of utmost importance. A perfectly prepared smoked rib should follow suit of a crispy crust and succulent meat. The rib meat should not be literally falling off the bone, but rather melting in your mouth and these ribs were a step in the right direction. The rib recipe needs more tweaking to officially fall on the Richter scale of smoked meat greatness, but I believe Q-Tine has the foundation and just needs a little more education. With that being said, the establishment in itself is beyond wonderful, as well as the profound hospitality served from all staff members involved. It should be noted that the sauce station is bomb-diggity and my jam of buffet style sauces as well as their slushie margarita in which I want to stick my mouth underneath the nozzle and give my life to the most masochism of brain freeze. And if you didn't know by now that this place is open wicked late and accepts all 7 levels of drunkness then you have failed at existence and should probably just go home.

High quality, open late, reasonably priced. Ignore the rest of the yelpsnobs on here- this place is great.

I stopped by this place recently and was pretty skeptical. However the combination of poutine and roasted or smoked meats was too much to resist. I am glad I risked it as the food was delicious. You get a good bang for your buck here as well. I had the Q Philly Steak and was very happy with the choice.

Finally - brisket made right - smoked to perfection! Usually not a big sweets person, but the pecan pie isn't overly sweet & has wall to wall nuts. This is truly a gem in our neighborhood

This is a great, yummy, well-priced spot for a quick, hearty snack or meal! Good menu options, simple, and straightforward. Decent booze selection for a quick eats spot like this. You order at the counter, find a seat you like, and your food will be out quickly. I had the Pulled Pork Q-Tine, good bang for your buck. French fries loaded with pulled pork and cheese curds that you can dress up with various sauces. No complaints! I'm surprised to see negative reviews on here. For quick, yummy food at reasonable prices this spot is great and I'm glad to have it in the mix.

Just had the "Brisket Platter". The menu sign inside listed it under BBQ and said it was "Buttery". I found it to be Dry and could Not taste the slightest bit of Flame, Mesquite, Charcoal, or Smokieness which makes BBQ well BBQ. The First sign of trouble was when I realized this was "Canadian bbq" after I ordered and had paid. I was like OK lets see what they got. Then to my dismay when I opened my sealed To Go box after leaving I noted that this Brisket listed under "BBQ" came with No BBQ Sauce! Huh?! Are you kiding me!!! Just three DRY pieces of meat. Most places put bbq sauce on the bbqd item. I was later told I was supposed to get my own when I called back. How do you screw up what we would call bbQ-Beans? Well you use Pinto Beans in a Sugary sauce. That also did Not taste BBQish. The Coleslaw that came with it was just Basic; Nothing to wright home about. Excuse me if I sound narrow minded when I say this may fly in Canada; but Not with this American! So if you walked in the door with a taste for bbq I feel sorry for you because you Wont find it here! Right now I'm wondering how many of these Glowing reviews came from family and friends of the owner? Last but not least RIP to the previous occupant of this site which was the under appreciated Chicken Run which served Mexican style Flame Grilled Chicken and seafood among many other dishes. They were pretty good by comparison. Theyre decor did not cater to hipsters but had they bothered to check it out they might still be around. We waited a Lonnng time for some one to do something with this space for them to come with some Bogus bbq from Canada. I Only gave it a star in order to post a review but Not deserved. So Not a fan of Q-tine, wont be back, and what a Waste!
