I love potbelly sandwiches. I think they have the perfect amount of spiciness and different sizes to choose from. I write about the potbelly in the south loop location because the staff is cool because I would imagine that we know what to expect when it comes to the sandwiches. They remember you and they are very friendly. I always ask for extra hot peppers on the side and they never charge you extra for it. Im sure thats the case at every Potbelly's. Its cool to know that some places don't charge extra for extra ingredients. For the most part, its always clean. I go here at least 2x a week for lunch for the past year and I have yet to be disappointed.

The sandwiches at potbelly are the best sandwiches I have ever had! Ok, I have only had the meatball sandwich, but why change when you know you've got a good thing? Maybe the next time I make it back to Chicago I'll order something different...or maybe I'll order as many meatball sandwiches as I can to fill up my carry-on.

I'm a regular at this Potbelly location (usually go once a week) since they opened and all of the staff is always warm and inviting and most importantly the food is consistant. I particulalry enjoy the tuna on wheat for lunch (with hot peppers) or sausage egg and cheese for breakfast also with hot peppers and Starbucks coffee which is a nice touch. This location recently added a soda machine to compliment the soda can offerings.

I came here because of the positive reviews from other Potbelly locations. I didn't know it was a chain since I'm not from here... first restaurant I ever tried in Chicago. Pretty decent. Let's see... Service - I saw on other reviews that the service is not the great here.... I agree. The server who took my order did not seem that happy and didn't even smile. When I wanted to change my soup order, the worker looked mad and then yelled out the new order to her other co-workers. Other than that, I can't complain much otherwise. Customer service is so important in food service. Food - Of course, what is wrong with Potbelly food? Nothing really. It sort of tastes like a higher-class of Subway (which I didn't mind because the price was still pretty decent). I believe you can't go wrong with an of the sandwiches here. I have to rave about their soups though..... you have to try their Chili soup even if it's a little pricey! It's chunky and filled with ingredients. The flavor is on point. So hearty. Yum. I also had the enchilada soup... which was good as well. Overall, I would come here only for soups because the sandwiches are not that spectacular. Customer service broke my review though. A-okay.

Love Potbelly. I am a sucker for the "Wreck sandwich"...on a flatbread. Toasty and crispy. Sometimes the fillings are still cold, so it is best to ask for the sandwich to be run again thru the oven. Delicious...I am not a sandwich type of guy....but Potbelly is just great...

Potbelly's is one of my favorite sandwich chains! My husband introduced me to this chain when we lived in Michigan, and it always hit the mark. At this Chicago location, we didn't come across any service issues. It was kind of slow that day so we were attended to pretty quickly and got our food. My favorite item here is the Italian sandwich because: 1) who doesn't love an Italian sandwich? and 2) you can add hot peppers to it, which creates another dimension of deliciousness! The hot peppers add a nice kick to ANY sandwich. I have to admit it's one of the main reasons I'm a fan of this chain. Did I mention that I love the peppers? Lol. Sadly, I haven't come across any Potbelly's in Florida (the sandwich chain... not the anatomical potbelly). But whenever I'm in the Midwest, I know where to go for a good sammich!

Food is potbelly good but the one star is for the WiFi. It sucks. It's painfully slow and to make matters worse since there are only windows on one side, the front you get a poor signal.

The employees looked like they didn't want to be there. It wasn't a friendly environment at all. I've been to other Potbelly's and they're friendly, but other thsn that the food was good. I always get the Wreck with cheddar, ir tastes amazing.

Bad customer service from this potbellys I came expecting a great service since I work in a potbelly but manager seemed upset and was in a bad mood no smiles no thank you. Just wanted to get us moving.

Just want to recognize great customer service, and today the award goes to Sam!!! My soup ordered was incorrect during my lunch break from work and there was no possible way for me to go back and correct it. So upon calling I spoke with Sam who offered to bring me another soup herself and she did just that within a matter of minutes, I was still eating my sandwich when she arrived smiling. Thank you Sam for great customer service because you rarely get that nowadays keep up the great work...

It was a cold night in Chicago when we found this safe haven from the very, very cold weather. Everyone both meat eater and veggie alike was able to find something they wanted. But really all we wanted was some hot food and heat for our bodies, and we got both here. I've always found the sandwiches pretty average, but I think my freezing body made it taste just a little bit better. They have two veggies options of the menu, which is better than many.

Good location close to the museums in Chicago. They had a musician playing inside that was just awesome. He made our lunch even better - the food was just okay.

I like to come here since i live nearby because i really like the soup, salads, sandwiches. But omg the lines move so slow and I will never understand why when I order a skinny pair for example I have to tell basically each person in line what soup i ordered to get my soup... It's not perfect but the workers are nice and the food is good so i dont mind returning.

I really enjoyed this location. We ended up eating a quick lunch, I got the Mediterranean sandwich and my friend got a salad and a sandwich. Both of us were extremely satisfied by the end. The bathrooms were clean, we sat near the booths and it was busy but comfortable. Definitely a great experience eating potbelly for the first time.

Potbelly's has become one of my favorite places to grab an afternoon meal. As a matter of fact, I just went to the one across from the HIP yesterday. My mom and I decided to make most of our afternoon together by using the CTA and spending our time at the Field Museum. By the way, the World Fair of 1893 exhibit was a disappointing waste of money. I became hungry. As we walked back to the Red Line on Roosevelt, I asked my mom if it was okay to eat in the S Loop area before we headed back... Of course I knew this was here. Unfortunately, I did not know how uncomfortably hot and loud it was going to be inside. I didn't mind it as much as my mother did. I've heard about musicians performing at Potbelly's but their space has always been quietly unoccupied at all the other places I've been to. There was a gentleman performing today. I found out later he's been at this location singing and playing his guitar since 2007. When I compare this location to other Potbelly's, I give this one 3 STARS: it is unbelievably HOT in this place. The square footage is SMALL. There is only ONE bathroom per gender. Because of this, there are bodies standing every where. The people behind the counter are incredibly and genuinely friendly. I have to give them a lot of credit for having a sense of humor and dealing with what is given to them to work with. I asked for a Chicken and Cheddar Sandwich on a Flatbread with tomatoes. The man asked me if I wanted the tomatoes heated or fresh and then he recommended that I try it with bacon. Bacon? Of course! I also ordered a cup of chili and since my dog wasn't with me, I added onions and cheese. As for soda, I can choose between Pepsi and Coke products from their fountain.

Potbelly is yummy in general. I like a wreck and the grilled chicken cheddar sandwiches. The broccoli cheddar soup is good. The vanilla shake is delicious! This particular location is great. The sandwiches are made quickly and ingredients are fresh. I like how they put in just the right amount of hot peppers in the sandwich when they're requested. The location is great as it's right off the Roosevelt Red/Green/Orange lines and some bus stops. They don't deliver after 7pm, however. The service is fine and there's plenty of space for seating. They had candy out on Halloween, which was sweet.

For starters, I have never heard of this chain in California, so a couple of friends took me here for the first time in Chicago. Honestly, I wasn't so thrilled thinking it was just going to be an ordinary sandwich shop. But I am glad I trusted their good judgment as I was in for a surprise. I must say that I was impressed by the live music entertainment for a casual restaurant, and the old-fashioned, quaint feel made the experience enjoyable. I'm not sure if the atmosphere is the same for every restaurant around the area, but this was exceptional. Its store location was a plus, as well. If you bring an appetite after visiting The Bean or The Art Institute, the food served is pretty filling for a decent price. The mushroom melt skinny sandwich on a flatbread and their broccoli soup had my vote on the first try.

I thought most Potbelly's were about the same in terms of quality of food and level of service. Not this location. I found a hair in my salad I took home. Disgusting. The wait times are ridiculous cause the staff is some of the slooooowest people on earth. I wouldn't even know where to find these slow moving people to hire if I owned a business... They spend more time trying to put their gloves on and talking to each other, it really pisses me off. And when I say no mayo, I really mean no mayo. It wasn't something I just say randomly. Listening is half the battle. And whats with the 2 hour wait times for delivery when you try to order online? I know its not subs so fast, I'll freak but do they have a delivery guy who is just as slow as the people making it? 2 hour wait time for delivery?! I'm getting fired up, so that's it. I'm done.

I've had Potbelly's sandwiches before but I'd heard that the milkshakes were good. So, I popped in on a sunny afternoon to grab a cookies and cream shake. It was thick, creamy and delicious. Although I was intending just to get the shake, the fresh cookies at the counter caught my eye so I had to try the chocolate brownie cookie. Amazingly great! The cookie was incredibly rich but ohhhhh, so good! I may have had a little cookies and cream overload but who cares? Everyone needs one every now and then!

I love Potbellys but , NOT THIS LOCATION!!!!. After asking what type of bread for my sandwich twice, it was still wrong! It was not busy either!!! (Blondish brown hair, large physique lady). It was not busy either!!! Why so many employees standing around doing nothing??!!! When waiting for them to remake my sandwich, an UNPROFESSIONAL cashier mocked me to another coworker, while I WAS STANDING THERE, that I was waiting for my sandwich!! No one seemed warm, welcoming or friendly and went out of their way to make me feel uncomfortable. I only go to this location b/cause they have a parking lot next to great Trader Joes. I have been a loyal customer since I was a kid eating at he original Lincoln Ave location. I get your style.....old decor, but he floor at this location is gross and unappetizing, chairs felt sticky/dirty and they stuck to the floors! You are expanding everywhere, put some $$ into this one, and demand better attitude from your staff. They are cold, unwelcoming and rude. Hope they train staff better for future locations. Like Mediterranean sandwich with chicken, great flavor and I have been a loyal fan of the Wreck and roast beef.

Friendly staff, good sandwiches, pretty cheap. If I have to rank the "sandwhich chains," here is how I usually go: 1. Jimmy John's (love that bread!) 2. Subway (super convenient, healthier options) 3. Costello's - Lincoln Square (expensive, but good sides and very tasty) 4. Potbelly (tasty, usually good amount of seating inside) 5. Quizno's (Meh) This Potbelly lived up to my expectations for my turkey sandwich, but I was disappointed that they only had one flavor of ice cream and frozen yogurt: vanilla. Is that normal? I know it's supposed to start getting colder this month, but some people still want ice cream, right?

It will come as no surprise that communications is how I scratch out a living. I pride myself on effective communications. Being clear & concise. And as a foodie? When I go to someplace like Potbelly, I pride myself on knowing what I want, not holding up the line hemming & hawing over the order. On the rare occasion I eat at Potbelly, I get the same thing: A "big" Wreck on wheat. With everything. EXCEPT hot peppers. Harvest cheddar Sun Chips. Orangina. So it's Saturday evening. It's not busy. Two people ahead of me who don't know what they want. They wave me through since I know what I want. I order my Wreck. With everything. EXCEPT hot peppers. Dude says ok. Does prelim work, theoretically passes said sandwich down the assembly line. I tell assembly line girl exactly what I want. Everything. EXCEPT hot peppers. While waiting, I head to the fridge to pick out my Orangina. I walk back to the cash register and I wait. And I wait. Even though it's empty, I wait. I peek over the counter at assembly line girl and I repeat to her, smiling: You know there's no hot peppers on that Wreck, right? She smiles back at me, "Right!" So you know how this ends, right? You know I got home, opened the bag, and that bish put hot peppers on my sandwich. I felt like I was being punished, because I have no business eating a Wreck with everything EXCEPT hot peppers anyway, but dammit if I'm paying for it and I'm clear about what I want, I want it the way I ordered it. With apologies to The Good Book: My people perish for lack of active listening skills...

Kind of cross between Subway and Quiznos. Yes I am very aware that sounds like a giant insult The major difference is all the ingredients are fresh all the sandwiches are well made the place doesn't smell like ass ( Subway that's aimed at you.) and I would recommend Potbelly to anyone looking for a good sandwich and a friendly staff.

I played a game the whole time I was visiting Chicago called "Find the Potbelly's on this street!". There are tons of them all around! The bf has stopped at this place back in the day and seemed to remember that the sandwiches were pretty good. We got the veggie sandwich and the meatball sandwich. I'm not sure if we were just super hungry from a day out and about or if the sandwiches were just that good, but we shoved those suckers down in about 2 minutes flat. The potato salad was pretty decent too! My only complaint...the employees at this joint! We walked in and were standing there waiting to order when the woman behind the counter just said "are you going to order or something?" Uh yes...we were just waiting for you to acknowledge us and turn around from whatever you were doing! There was just a lot of staring at us by the employees rather than asking questions or acknowledging us. Totally a five star place if they could just get a little more friendly/helpful employees!

The worst. It took OVER TWO HOURS for them to deliver our food. They called and told us that our estimated delivery time of 12:30 would be more like 1 PM. Fine. I can relate to being crazy busy. When we called them to ask what was going on (after waiting patiently for over 1 1/2 hrs), all we got as a big attitude and no sympathy. Food arrived cold. SHOCKER- probably because they had to drive around for 2 hours to find our office that is LESS THAN 4 BLOCKS AWAY. Why not just go get my own sandwich? Good point since I could have walked there and back and ordered about 15 sandwiches in the time it took to get to us.

Buffalo chicken skinny new sandwich which is pretty darn good. Think this place is just levels above Subway, Quiznos, Jersey Mike's, or any other chain place. It has an small sandwich feel and taste from a local chain. Given the choice between most of the sandwich places out there this is my goto location.

Friendly staff and sandwiches are good. Love the toasty bread. Vanilla shake was pretty good. Not too sweet which I like.

The staff here is very friendly and the service was excellent. I usually order the wreck and add bacon and mushroom. Very tasty sandwich. Their milkshakes are very good too, nice and thick with great flavors to choose from. The thing i love most about potbellys is their cookies. They have the best cookies in all of the sub form sandwich joints. Very chewy, very tasty and very sweet.

This place has simple and delicious sammiches. I was getting dinner with my husband earlier this week and he picked us up some Potbelly sammiches. I ALMOST went for a strawberry milkshake (omg, they are SO good) but that's not going to help my waistline, so I held off. Anyway, I ordered a veggie sammich with hot peppers, mayo, mustard, lettuce and onions on wheat bread. Nothing too fancy. It was cheesy and mushroomy and DELICIOUS. Food doesn't have to be complicated to be satisfying and Potbelly's is a testament to that. I don't eat at Potbelly very often since in order for them to deliver to my work, I have to order more than just a sammich, and that's more than I need on a daily basis. So, Potbelly remains an occasional treat.

A Potbelly is a Potbelly is a Potbelly to me. But can we please turn down the music a smidge? Or get people that can hear me? I was already yelling and they still couldn't hear my complete order. *sigh* Otherwise, they're nice people that work in here. And I love the lunchtime live music. Helps artists out! Just turn it down a notch, kaithxbi.

Here is a place that makes good sandwiches for a decent price. They toast their bread (which I love) and give you the option to make it pretty much any way you want. The quality and taste are really good I feel but they do have a minimum for delivery which sucks sometimes. I also have to wait 45 minutes just to get my order...and I'M NOT THAT FAR! They need to change that. This place works better if you go in person.

The staff is very friendly and I always get my order very quickly. I had a problem with my potbelly gift card and the cashier told me not to worry about it and took care of the entire situation for me. Great customer service!

I generally don't like to review huge chains such as this, but I went to this location so often before I moved that I wanted to give them a good review. I literally lived on this block, so I would order from there quite often. I'd been going since they opened and I always enjoyed my sandwich. The food is consistently good, and the staff is really friendly. They're super helpful and quick, and when my friend came to visit and told them it was her first time at a Potbelly's, they took care of her and even threw in a free strawberry shake. Now that's service. I often ordered my meal online because it was a time saver, and they always had it ready in advance of when I got there, even if I was a little bit earlier than my pickup time. I'm a simple girl who only gets lettuce on her TKY's, and I always got thanked for having such a simple order. Guess they get a lot of people who put a ton of toppings/spices on. Unfortunately since I moved I probably won't be back to this location very often, but since Potbelly's has become my friend's favorite lunch place in the city, I'll go for sure whenever she comes to town.

My friend was raving about Potbelly's ice cream sandwich, so of course I was tempted to try one. I ordered one with oatmeal and mocha ice cream. The ice cream, I suspect, wasn't firm- so it melted before I even took my order to sit down. I didn't want a dripping mess on my shirt so I asked if I could get another ice cream sandwich with a firmer and more frozen flavor of ice cream. The server did it without ANY hesitation! I was really surprised that I was able to exchange it without any problems.

Potbellys are normally all the same. But this place was open on the day after the huge storm 2 weeks ago. A roast beef sandwich and warm oatmeal chocolate chip cookie never tasted so good.
