Horrendous service. Thank goodness the food is so good or I would never be back. I drove through yesterday afternoon. Couldn't understand a word from the person taking my order; then the person repeated my order back to me incorrectly and I had to make corrections. Pulled up to the drive through window and paid, only to be told I had to "pull around and wait" even though there was no one else in the drive through line and only a few visible customers in the restaurant. When my order was brought out to me it was incorrect; I had to get out of the car and go inside to get it corrected. The person who took my order and the person I encountered inside were both sullen, unfriendly, and disinterested. They both muttered and wouldn't make eye contact, forget a pleasant smile or an "I'm sorry" when I had to go in to make things right. Fortunately the food was delicious, although why the heck don't they have sides of cream gravy?

Last night I woke from a nap craving friend chicken. I knew I wasnt about to whip any up and remembered a Popeye's was near. I drove down and then waited..and waited. Finally got to the window which is this scary turning-lazy-susan thing so the workers are never in direct contact with you which is a bit creepy. Luckily though the food was good and hot. The gravy is better than KFC, the coleslaw is not. But the chicken was really good and spicy. I forget about Popeye's when I get fast food cravings but hopefully I'll remember this one. Just be prepared for a wait. I'll assume food was being cooked right then which is why there was a wait at all.

The food is great. I love popeye's. The workers are hit and miss, but most of the time they are good.

If you don't want head bobbing and attitude with your chicken you are better off going to another Popeye's. Once you get past that and the "watching snow melt wait" you've got yourself an average chicken dinner. Chow down!

I agree - it's hit or miss here - a hit being first in line when the chicken is fresh out of the fryer. (Unless you have an ulcer - go for the Spicy - which isn't really all THAT spicy.) Most of the sides are only so-so - though the Cajun fries and those biscuits are pretty good. This location leaves a bit to be desired (despite it's being across the street from a police station that always seems to be deserted.) Lately I've been doing the drive-thru - but when the chicky is good - it is good.

I've been guilty of going to this Popeyes Chicken location in the past when I just can't get the craving for fried chicken to go away. That said, avoid the drive through at this location if you go. Trust me, you'll only end up going inside anyway, and going inside is always 10x faster. This time around, knowing that, I went in. I was shocked that they had Cajun chicken already ready, (often they do not), and my biscuits and sides were promptly created as well. (Mashed potatoes and Red beans & rice are old faves.) The staff was polite and the service was shockingly prompt. Oh, and yes, there was a single drive-through car waiting for their order when I arrived. ;-) Ha ha!

I'm writing this before I get my food, assuming that it will be up to par. That's why I'm giving two stars. This has certainly been a one star experience so far. The crew working here is understaffed, impolite, and way too nonchalant about serving customers. I have been here for 20 minutes - waited in line for 15 minutes with only ONE person in front of me. I won't be back to this location.

I always come here. The food is good. So that's why I keep coming back. But the service here, specially at the Drive Thru is real ghetto. No thank you for coming to our restaurant, no thank you come again. Kind of feel unsafe handling my credit card to some person via some anti-crime swivel window thing. So over all the food is good. But forget about the friendliness here. That's why I gave them a 2 star rating.

I first pulled up to the drive thru window and waited for 15 minutes. The car ahead of me did not proceed past the menu and I quickly realized that she hadn't been addressed. I parked and came inside and waited in line before giving my order. The lady at the counter was very nice and she was the only redeeming factor other than the quality of the food (which is always consistent). I saw a woman who had arrived after me and ordered the same thing receive her food while I waited for an additional 15 minutes inside. The crew seemed really disorganized! The lady who was waiting at the drive-thru menu in front of me earlier was inside at this point and asked to talk to the manager. The manager said that the intercom was broken (there was no note on the menu) and that the customer should have pulled through to the window to order. She was offered nothing for her wasted time. Overall, this location is hectic, disorganized, and dirty. The only positive thing is that the food is consistent...

For some reason, I just had a hankering for some Popeye's. The chicken was good. Real good. Classic Popeye's. The place was clean and I witnessed no service issues and didn't have any myself.

I arrived in the drive-thru at approximately 5:30pm. The time it took to wait behind one car and then wait for the cashier to acknowledge me on the intercom took a total of 11 minutes before my order was placed (5:41). I was told my order would take 7 minutes to complete, and after paying, to park my car and my food would be delivered. My food was brought to my car at 6:10 (29 minutes after ordering). I ordered a 12 piece tender meal. I left, checked the contents of my bag, and saw that a) the fries were missing and b) the sauce packets within my bag had exploded. I drove back to the store, waited again for someone to acknowledge me at the drive thru window, stated I was missing part of my order and that I needed a new bag with new sauce packets. I waited 7 more minutes for these items. From the time I pulled into Popeye's until the time I left, 47 minutes had passed. Never again will i return to this location or to any Popeyes.

Yeah, yeah. The chicken is good. But frankly, I'd stay away from this location. The neighborhood? Not my favorite. Either I attract a lot of a attention here, or this place is just full of people who enjoy telling strangers how they are the spitting image of their 25-year-old estranged daughter with four kids. It's a little shabby on the inside, too. There are some much nicer locations that have been recently renovated. They do have a drive-thru, although it took me forever to notice it. This seems to be a Popeyes thing, as it's been at every location I've seen so far, but the drive thru window is a strange turning table in which you're at all times separated from an employee by a pane of what I assume to be bullet resistant glass. I bet the employees dig the fact that they don't have to smell anyone's nasty breath, but man it is a pain to understand someone when they're trying to talk to you through it. The quality of the food here is questionable, too. How can you be out of both chicken nuggets AND barbeque sauce simultaneously? Who's not doing their job? I wonder. She gave me honey mustard sauce instead, whch was fine... Until I saw the suspicious rip in the container and the congealed yellow goo crusted around it. Save yourself the food poisoning and the awkward interactions with the weirdo clientele and go to the one on Irving Park and Ashland instead.
