Popeyes chicken isn't very good at all. However, this location generates business because of the close proximity to CTA Kimball Brown line. I occasionally find coupons in the Sunday Newspaper coupon insert. When your energy is depleted due to the nature of job you perform for eight (8) straight hours (answer: retail), you will appreciate anything. The Popeyes chicken, in other words, become extra delicious. Sometimes I have to compromise, yet that's life! Judging from a foodie point of view, the slaw is diluted; the Mac and cheese has no flavor and needs some intense seasoning; the spicy chicken is spicy but lacks substance to its spiciness. Everywhere you slice it, it absolutely cannot measure up to the gourmet quality at most sit-down restaurants in the city of Chicago. Well, I didn't find any insect or peculiar foreign object. That's why they still retain three-star rating. I've never been to this location without a coupon, and they hardly give me a difficult time. Thus from the customer service perspective, they've earned a passing grade.

The customer service I received earned that many stars because the food tasted like any other Popeye's... The 2 seasoned gents were really sweet and accommodating for that reason I would return and recommend other do as well.****this place offers online coupons!****

I am seriously, not joking or exaggerating. Every time i eat the 5 spicy chicken strips at lunch, i get diarrhea in the evening. Really, every time!!! I know spicy food can get you diarrhea but those chicken are not even considered spicy. I eat some spicy noodle that is 5x spicier, but never get diarrhea. I am not eating it from now on.

After reading Erika V's recent review of Popeye's on Lincoln, I realised that I hadn't gone for fried chicken in ages. So I totally went. This location is not very big and doesn't have a drive-through like the one I frequented in my old neighbourhood, the one at Diversey & California. I must have shown up at an off hour because there weren't many patrons in there. The staff were very friendly and I even got a 'you have a great day, OK!' The spicy chicken was freshly out of the fryer when I arrived so my Year of the Ox was going splendidly so far. Someone commented on the neighbourhood being 'beyond skanky (borderline scary at night)'. Well, let's see...there are lots of different 'ethnic people' out in the streets at all times of the day and night...Yeah, some of those blue-collar bastards are pretty damned skanky. Don't you totally hate them prowling around the streets like nobody's business? Seriously, what the fuck. Let's see, a couple of random strangers wished me a happy new year, the skanks. I bought some champurrado off a cart one time, that was pretty skanky. Another time some guy moved to the side so we could both pass on the snowy sidewalk, fucking skankhole. Then there were the nights when I'd bike around the neighbourhood at 300 am to work off my insomnia and totally lived to tell the tale. In fact, at 130 am last night I rode up Kimball from Bubbleland with 25 lbs of laundry on my back and stopped for some shawarma at George's. I was molested by a grand total of zero skanks. Huh, that could be a problem. (OK, I'm kind of a skank.) But back to the issue of fried chicken. Take it from the authority here, it's Skank Spanking Goodâ„¢!

Kind of a sketchy place. The one time I was in there it was crowded, not very clean and just generally disorganized. The staff was friendly and surprisingly efficient, but the food was terrible even by fast food standards. The chicken had been drying out under the heat lamps for hours, yuck. And the biscuits were hard enough to crack your toes if you accidentally dropped one. Getting in and out of the parking lot is a lot more tedious than it should be. I will avoid in the future.

The have all ghetto employees, they don't even thank you when you're picking up your food. It is just handed to you like your dog and they turn their backs to grab the next order. If you dont like good customer service, eat here.

There is finally a fried chicken place in my neighborhood after the loss of Brown's Chicken a good many years ago. This place replaced some nondescript fast food place and is great for those heading to or from the CTA Brown Line station at Kimball and Lawrence.

Went here for lunch with a coupon of buy a 3 pc meal get a 2 pc meal free. I got this coupon from Popeyes website. I presented it to the cashier, an indian gentleman and it was immediately refused. The address on the coupon was 3362 W Lawrence instead of 3352 W Lawrence. I told him that I got it from Popeyes website then he reluctantly accepted the coupon. He didn't ask if it was for here or to go or if I wanted the additional cup from the 2 pc meal I got for free. He was real pissy about it. The store itself was okay. Not going back to this one anytime soon.

To me the biscuits and the sides are the best thing about Popeyes. I know alot of folks love spicey chicken. I especially like this location that's right across the street from the Ravenswood Brown Line train. This is one of their newer locations. There used to be a hamburger stand here for years.

The decadent, juicy meat dwelling beneath the crisped shell of fried batter is a treat for the palate. Each succulent bite coaxes imagery of Cajun hootenannies murmuring late into the night in the Louisiana bayou. Okay, whatever, I mean, it's fast food chicken. It's hot, sometimes. It's also cheap. Ish. The fries are either crispy and piping hot, or they are reminiscent of under-seasoned packing peanuts, soggy and more disappointing than I am to my father (I'm sorry I got an art degree, Dad! Get over it). When the chicken's fresh, it's Popeye's; yum, delicious. Suck it, KFC. But when it's been tanning under a heat lamp too long, sometimes I consider deep-frying my cats, since it'd be far more satisfying, but I can't, because I'm not clever enough to come up with an excuse to tell the missus why Boots is missing, and, dangit, I'm not taking the fall for another dead animal. Also, sometimes the customer service leaves a bit to be desired. And by sometimes I mean all of the times.

The tradition of fast food has lost much in the years. Fast? You can throw that out the door, food? Well, we'll leave that up for judgment. Today I went to Popeye's to grab some mashed potatoes to go with my brisket for dinner and I noticed there were maybe three people in front of me ordering. This Popeye's messes around every time and if you order almost anything on the menu expect to wait a crazy long amount of time. Today, I waited twelve minutes to get mashed potatoes. Maybe the owner will one day want to spend some more money to hire more staff for rush hour because this is the slowest Popeye's Chicken anywhere to be found!

I usually follow a vegetarian diet, but on occassion I'll eat chicken tenders (especially from Marriott Hotels). I have been to KFC once in my life, and had biscuits, coleslaw and mashed potatoes. The chicken parts piled up just don't appeal to me. But, then it was KFC and not Popeyes. I admit, I was a little bit drunk when I decided to try Popeyes Fried Chicken the other night. It was hot. The spicy coating was delicious, and dipped in alternatively honey and Louisianna Hot Sauce...Amazing. KFC has better biscuits, coleslaw and mashed potatoes, but I'll be back to Popeyes to try their chicken tenders. There was so much sodium in that chicken that I had to remove my rings and watch and wear stretchy pants for a few days after.
