Ordered for delivery through Grubhub. PRO - There is only one. The delivery was incredibly fast, like under 30 minutes. CONS - The food order was messed up, the toasted ravioli was overbreaded and very greasy, and I've had better Italian Beefs at a place that looks like it should be shut down by the Health Department any minute. I did not try the pizza so maybe I am missing out, but I'm probably not going to try again when there are so many other places that do the stuff beyond pizza so much better.

All hail Pie-Eyed. I was introduced tot his place via Beauty Bar and have been obessed ever since. Now lets be honest: their walk up slices leave much to be desired, but if you haven't ordered a pie then you haven't experienced pie-eyed. Their made to order pizza is fresh and oozing with flavor.Their sauce taste as though it has a hint of sugar and like so many other sweet things it kind of taste that makes you go back for more after you're al ready full. besides that hint of sweet in their well balanced sauce they also have 2 buck off cupon on their website for large pizzas and their take out is pretty quick. Ask for extra sauce and be preapred to meet your new pizza obession.

I absolutely love their Buffalo shrimp. Their pizza is not bad. Their delivery is pretty fast.

I went in with the kids the other day and realize this group really cares about their customers.

First, I've ordered from here a couple of times now. Below Average Pizza - lacks the minimally required flavor and texture. And the surprising uncalled for cherry on top - Extremely rude customer service. It's almost like they're trying not to have sober loyal customers. Need I say more?

Considering I only eat the pizza slices when I'm drunk, my rating may be a bit generous... But the slices are huge and tasty!

I would really give it 2.75. It's solid pizza, the people are nice and the menu has a lot of diversity to it, but I just didn't feel like it wowed me or left me with any overwhelmingly favorable impression. Also ordered some of the appetizers which were diverse but I didn't feel like had any real value or wowing taste/appearance. Solid and reliable but not can't miss.

I've been here a few times (lunch and late night) Food was fast and good. Good service (especially when emergency dictated the use of the top secret restroom). Make it a combo with fries and a drink.

I love pie-eyed! I'm usually pretty lucky to be one of the first customers of the day. For most that means getting the biggest slice of pie. The problem is their slices are HUGE! Don't get me wrong I like to eat, but I always have to talk the lady into giving me the smallest slice. Add a blood orange San Pellegrino and my stomach is happy. Thanks for the pie!

It doesn't take much genius and creativity to bake good pizzas. And even a good pizza would have been acceptable, dough, sauce and cheese, temperature and time. But when you can mess up something so basic, you may wanna fire your kitchen staff and start all over again. $24 for a 18" flatbread with ketchup sauce (???) and cheese = killed my appetite and never coming back!

fuck every review that isn't 5 stars i miss this place so much from when i was in high school i have it delivered to me. to the inconvenience of pie eyed lol. the point is without pie eyed in high school i would've starved to death so forever thanks. it's a good fucking slice of pizza and a pop for a little over 5 bucks fuck off everyone who aint agree

This is a fantastic little find! It's reasonably priced in fact, it's inexpensive, it's open really late, it's got a great menu, and the food ain't bad. I recommend checking the daily specials. The Monday Meatball Sub is fantastic. They give you large meatballs with a lot of cheese and the sauce pretty decent. It's not fresh, but let's keep expectations realistic here, it's a great little dive with good prices and completely convenient. The pizza is good, I like their crust and is sold by the slice. The chicken parm is ok too. I had their wings.... Well....ummm.....errrrr....ehhhh....let's just say don't get the wings...it's not a wing joint, ok? If you live nearby, you're crazy not making this a regular standby/go-to. Oh, watch out for the bakery. Best way to put this, make sure you have dental insurance first, just sayin'....

I gave this place 3 chances. First time: Fried Ravioli and Garlic bread special. The grease was bad, I ate two raviolis and for the rest of the day I had an epic stomach ache. No bueno. Garlic bread was an odd combo of soggy and chewy and tasted like straight butter. Gross. Second time: Tomato Pizza with fresh Basil: Well my pizza was only reheated halfway so the first half of the pizza was warm and decent. The second half was cold. It was just Ok. Third time: Garden Salad: Sooo much rotten lettuce that it was inedible. I want my money back but I already used my lunch break and can't get take any more time out of my day to deal with this rotten little salad. needless to say I am pissed. Bottom Line: I feel like this place only cares about their late night customers who are too wasted to know whether they are eating cardboard or pizza. Save your time and money.

I like the Italian beef I get here. Also the staff is always friendly. Because I go in there so much I'm always joking around with the guys. Oh another plus they always have a game on. Perfect for playoffs

There are very few options for late night food in this area so the pizza was decent, but undercooked and not an option under normal business hours.

great place for a quick bite right off the Chicago blue line! Oddly enough they have excellent spinach salads! The dudes working at the counter are usually extra helpful and nice. The heart shaped Pizza is a sweet deal!

Maybe something other than pizza would be better, but the pizza was only okay imo. Got a sausage slice and the sausage was a bit skimpy and the slice was way undercooked, not at all crispy. It also was just really lacking in flavor, i like tomatoes and seasoning, and this was just doughy, cheesy thin bread with a bit of sausage--not a terrible thing, but not a treat for my taste buds, which is what I look for when I eat out. I only saw NY style, no Chicago or Sicilian. It also wasn't piping hot. The slices are large, but not $4.25-worth. The staff is friendly, and the location is excellent--right behind the east-bound 66 bus on Chicago, and across the street from the blue line Chicago stop. I could see going again based on convenience, given the location and late night hours, it would be a good place to sit and wait for the bus, but I wouldn't actually recommend the pizza. Oh, and there's a bike rack right outside.

I really like the pizza here. I'll start off by saying that I prefer my pizza crust to be thin and crispy. Deep dish just doesn't do it for me. The crust here is just a little too thick for my taste, but the toppings make up for it. I do wish they'd put more seasoning into their sauce, but other than that I'd say the pizza is a good deal for the price, and the topping selection is large enough to allow for a lot of variety.

Our favorite place for pie delivery! If you are craving delicious pizza with fresh toppings, this is the spot! Classic thin crust, sweet sauce, and spot-on delivery. We make sure to always add on an order of buffalo shrimp, which you can order increments of five (which is great, in case you only want a little something extra to complement your pizza). The shrimps come lightly breaded and sauced in their fantastic buffalo sauce -- which also works well on the buffalo chicken pizza! Highly recommend. Your order typically comes with coupons too for future discounts. Awesome perk for loyal customers :) FYI, for pizza-and-wing fans, their wings are breaded as well ... I only mention this because we ordered them once and forgot to ask, so we were caught off guard.

Ordered the gluten free pizza for the first time the other day and it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend has been gluten free for a couple years now and we honestly have the hardest time finding a good tasting gluten free pizza. We found our new pizza home. Loves it!!!! Can't wait to be a fat a$$ and order one a week.

Oh this is my favorite spot to stop on trips coming back from ORD. Small hole in the wall pizza place, but good pizza. Hands down the BBQ chicken us good, get the cilantro on the side if it's to go, and put it on at home. Get a side of BBQ sauce as well. So good!

  • Raychel Y.

I love this place! I am not a deep dish kind of girl so the thin slices here are perfect! They have great food and amazing service. The guy who is normally working the register is always very nice. The prices are affordable and they have a lot of options. This is right off the Chicago blue line. The only down fall is there is no parking, so I have to risk a ticket every time I want to swing by and grab food.

  • Marc E.

I'm in the neighborhood a lot and eat here a couple times a week. Pizza should be the obvious route (their to-go slices are the best in the neighborhood), but then they also have these weekly specials -meatball sandwich and chicken parmesan- that particularly strike my tastebuds.

Simple slice of pizza here folks, nothing more nothing less. They are open till 5am on Friday and Saturdays.

  • Kenny O.

Hands down best thin crust pizza in the area. Open till 4am on the weekends, so they get drunken orders from me all of the time. Their top competition is D'Agostinos and I personally favor Pie Eyed's sauce over theirs. I've never had anything besides their pizza.

  • Jeremy T.

Come for the pizza. Stay for the delicious pizza sauce. I walked in and stopped for a slice of sausage and cheese. I thought it was just alright. Last week I had their pizza at Beauty Bar and thought it was great. So great that we ordered two pizzas last week. Both times we got only pepperoni for a topping. If I wasn't so fat I would get their pizza all the time. If you decide to try this place, I highly suggest that you get extra sauce on your pizza. It's definitely a must. They have have some of the best sauce around. In the future I want to try more toppings and appetizers. The also seem to have some solid special throughout the week. Just writing this is making hungry for more Pie-Eyed.

Pretty solid late night choice. Open til 5am on the weekends and they also have delivery. Huge slices of pizza too.

  • Paul R.

This place sucks. Anyone who thinks this is good pizza doesn't know what good pizza is. The cheese is as fake as it can get. Tried the Italian beef and there's more bread than beef. Asked to have it dipped and they didn't do it. They don't listen to what customers want. Gave this place 3 chances for lunch and failed everytime. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Garbage food

Delicious pizza by the slice and a meatball sandwich delivered from heaven with cheese and hot peppers for 5 bucks yes, yes, yes!

  • Jennifer H.

Great for late night pizza by the slice. Best pizza by the slice I ever had. Right by Chicago ave blue line stop. I recommend a slice of tomato basil. Open till 5am Friday and Saturday. Very little seating. Full of drunks late night and the staff is always friendly. Grab your pizza and eat it on the curb, or on your way home. We've even order a whole pie for delivery. It was pretty good. Support your local pizza!

Pretty decent pizza. I love that you can buy thin and deep dish by the slice. It's a biiiiig slice too. We got this new york style "cookie" which was like a dough with chocolate and vanilla on it. Just get it dude. It was delish. Nice twist on a traditional cookie.

  • Erika G.

What looks like an unassuming little pizza joint from the outside houses the driest, most tasteless pizza that I've probably ever eaten. The slices are large, sure, and they are also mediocre. In a city known for great pizza, you can safely pass this one by.

    (2)
  • Jacob J.

One of their photos on here depicts winning "voted best pizza 2010" in the Reader. I wonder who the competition was; Chuck E Cheese and Chicago Pizza co? This is just pizza. A meal to satiate a hunger. Sweet sauce, thin crust, fresh toppings and a cafeteria like feel. It's served & that's it, no personality to it. No major selections, just plain old pizza. A little less than $4 a slice. For the same cost you can check out a nicer neighborhood hangout down the street, it's two blocks away.

If you like frozen supermarket pizza that you heat up in your oven, THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU! If not, avoid this place at all costs. The pizza is downright awful. I think there are essentially a few reasons people eat here: 1. They genuinely like this pizza because they were raised on tombstone pizza and it tastes about the same. 2. Its 3:30AM and they are totally shit faced drunk and anything the put in their mouth to help soak up the alcohol is a good thing. 3. Their blood sugar is low and they are waiting at the bus/el stop, and if they don't eat something quick they will faint. 4. Like me, they decided to try it once, and have vowed never to return. Never again...unless I'm drunk.

  • Cheryl C.

They do good work here. The closest I've gotten to New York style pizza in Chicago. If you can get it straight out of the oven, it even gets some of the bottom-crust crunch right. More importantly, they provide me with tasty, convenient, sizable and inexpensive pizza slices at all hours of the day and night. Employees are friendly, although I'd prefer if the TV wasn't always on either football or monster movies. Usually I wish I'd brought a TV-B-Gone. Overall, solid.

Love this place. They are always on the money, always on time with delivery! I've ordered from them at the office at least a 10 times now, each time - fresh toppings, delicious sauce, deep dish is good, thin is awesome! Never had a bad experience with this pie place. Came upon them on a whim, seemed to be the only place with reasonable prices and good reviews, in addition to cheap same day delivery. Been with them ever since!

    (4)
  • Ashley B.

Super fast, cheap, and awesome. Plus we checked in with Foursquare and got 20% off our order, what's not to like about that? The reason it didn't get four or five stars is simply because this is Chicago, there are lots of other amazing pizza places out there. Gotto be fair!

  • Nick H.

This is my favorite pizza joint in Chicago, due to its proximity to my home and the quality of the thin crust pizza. The sauce is sweet, the toppings are quite generous, and the crust is crunchy. It's a little thicker than most thin crust, but still great. All of these lambasting reviews about how terrible the pizza is are garbage. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but those gratuitous comments are simply sensationalized. I've had their Chicago-style pizza as well. Though I'm generally not a fan of that type of pizza, it beats Giordano's handedly. Why 4 Stars and not 5? Sometimes their selection isn't all that great. I've walked in on more than one occasion, just to see one type of pie on the warming plate. I am easy to please: pepperoni, sausage, cheese, or any combination of the three. Sometimes those aren't available.

    (4)
  • Kevin Y.

At first I thought this was just good late night pizza, but then I ordered it for a lunch meeting and everyone commented on how good it was. And it was good. I've never gotten the deep dish here, but the thin crust is damn good. If you're looking for New York style pizza in Chicago, this is the place to get it.

Stopped in here for a quick slice before a drinking adventure. You walk up to the counter and the latest creations are out on display. I opted for a slice of pepperoni. The sauce is super thin and sweet here. Lots of gooey cheese is on each slice. Problem: the toppings just slide off of the crust :( There are individual tables and a side counter to stand at and eat. You can also find Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and oregano shakers out for use. The place was not spotless and the tables with dirty. The TV was on and that seemed to occupy the employee's attention. Prices for a slice are cheap....I think it came out to around $12 for 3 slices...you do the math. Bike parking out front on street.

When we moved into our neighborhood, just a block from the corner of Milwaukee/Ogden/Chicago, I lamented not having a laten-night-go-to Burrito place for a post-night-out snack. Instead, my husband and I would opt to stop at CVS on our walk home from the Blue Line after a night out, not realizing that right on our walk home was a little gem of a place with some truly yummy thin crust pizza that's cheap, delicious and always open when you need it! While I probably wouldn't go here for a sit down meal (not that I'm a snob or anything...it's just not very large and my couch and tv are so nearby) it will be my go-to latenight spot from here on! Yay for River West! or whatever the heck you call the neighborhood we live in!

12/10/13 Please open your restrooms to your customers. Pie Eyed pizza is still great, restroom policies are stil not great. No customer restrooms. The pizza is great and gets 3 stars for Chicago pizza and 5 for late night pizza. But Pie-Eyed should be ashamed for locking off employee restrooms and turning away customers. If you want to report them to the city you can Google "chicago consumer retail complaint", the first result will take you to the correct form.

Pretty good- awesome- creative- open late! All words that come to mind with this place. It is good either midday or late nite. Not overpriced like so many "chicago pizza" establishments. Totally check it out. Oh and the guys behind the counter are totally down to earth and listen to some killer music. Just one thing that sucks, im a cash only kinda girl. They dont do cash for delivery late night. I understand why, they have their reasons. However, they would have had so much more biz from me if they would accept cash.

Great pizza....amazing thin crust and savory sauce. Generous on the toppings. Quick delivery. Love this place. Also, every time I call in or go in, the customer service is great. Very friendly staff!

How can such a cool place go so wrong with a slice pizza? While walking around my neighborhood at midnight (no, I wasn't drunk... this time) looking for a cheap bite, I came across Pie-Eyed. On the surface, everything appeared on the level: Great name? Check. Good prices? Check. Open late? Check. Cool and friendly staff? Check. So how can something seemingly so right, go so wrong? Flavor... or lack there of. Being that I was a newbie to Pie-Eyed, I figured I would try a slice of pepperoni with a Diet Coke. Nothing too out of the ordinary here, so I ensured that the "bar o' expectation" was set to a moderate level. Granted they did toss my slice in the oven to ensure it had a crispy crust and bubbly cheese, but it was what happened when I took the first bite that surprised me. Hungry and somewhat exhausted, I took a decent sized bite of gooey cheese, crispy crust (not burnt, but actually nice and crisp) and even a piece of pepperoni. I could feel the warmth, smell the flavor, see a delicious looking piece of pizza in my hands, but yet the flavor was missing in action. I thought that this may have been a figment of my imagination, or perhaps a CrIss Angel mind trick, but another bite yielded similar results. Now the crust on its own was very good- light, a bit airy and crisp. But sad to say, even the crust needed a boost in flavor as well. I tried to add pepper flakes, seasonings and parmesan cheese to see if that would help, but even a good amount of those extras, couldn't help the cause. It was a shame too, because I felt all the ingredients were well proportioned to each other, but the flavor was still too muted. I really want to give this place another shot, but from I have read from other Yelpers, I may be subjected to the same experience. That is a shame, because this place has everything else going for it. Clearly they know how to knock out a great looking piece of pizza with a great textured crust, but the flavor just doesn't match the aesthetics of the pizza. Maybe the pan pizza has more soul? Or maybe I just need copious amounts of alcohol to enhance the flavor?

Best pizza in the city?!? Ummm.....no. Sorry Reader, but you read that one wrong. Good option at night when you are: 1. tired 2. hung-over 3. getting off the Blue Line? Yeah. Why not? Big, cheap and tasty. Worst welcome in the 'hood from the dude behind the counter? Most definitely. But hey. It's a pizza place. Not an enoteca, not a trattoria, not even a pizzeria. A pizza PLACE. But still....a little smile and some articulate words?!? Thanks!!

I love this pizza it just like New York style big and thin and the fried mozzerella sticks to die for. This is good whether you been out drinking all night and need to soak up the toxic waste or if you just want a good slice of pizza. We always get the tomato w Fresh basil with a sprinkle of parm and red pepper flake. The cheese is melted nice into the tomatoes and fresh yes fresh basil chopped up and tossed on top PERFECT!!! The staff is always welcoming. My favorite side is the fried mozzerella sticks yes its not healthy but every once in awhile you just have too! And these are worth it they are not really greasy lightly fried and served with yummy marinara sauce.

There are better pizza places in Chicago. That being said, there are definitely worse pizza places in Chicago too. if you're in the area and interested in pizza, I wouldn't hesitate to go in. I've ordered from here a few times and have never been really disappointed. It's just that I've never been blown away either. Pizza is a pretty personal thing. It's an art really. The artists at Pie-Eyed aren't really big on sauce or toppings. It's definitely a minimalists dream. I'll order from there again, I'll just order from a few other places first.

    (3)
  • Susan C.

For being a quick grab-a-slice-on-the-go, this place is awesome! Their pizza is pretty good. Although you shouldn't expect a gourmet slice, you should expect a good, hot, gooey slice of pizza that is very generous in size.

As other Yelpers have said, Chicago Reader has it wrong by voting this as the best Chicago pizza for 2011. I agree that this pizza tastes better after drinking. I had it first for free at Beauty Bar - 3 strong cocktails in, my 2 pieces of thin cheese were intriguingly good and seemed to give my fave (D'AGS) a run for it's money. So I decided to order a thin sausage at home, sober, and unfortunately didn't deliver the same satisfaction: 1) Thick layer of rubbery cheese 2) Crust was chewy and not crisp/well cooked on the bottom so I had to "pull" on the piece to get my bite (ya know what I mean?). Def not a paper-thin, crisp pizza. The outer edge crust is thicker and kind of hard. 3) Hello sausagefest!!!! While I appreciate getting my money's worth, this was a helluvalotta sausage. Huge pieces and they were EVERYWHERE. If anything, waaay too much for the female pizza eater. Of course I know the above is all a matter of personal taste, so if you like it heavy, I guess you'd love this. Usually I can manhandle a pizza, but this was just so heavy that I started to take the cheese and sausage off after 2 pieces and satisfy my love for carbohydrates by just eating the crust and sauce for a few more pieces (probably TMI). Four positives to mention: 1) I do like the sauce, as it's somewhat sweet which I like 2) The sausage was fresh and had a nice flavor 3) Online ordering (and though I've not partook, the 5am delivery) 4) When the delivery guy realized he didn't have change for me to give him an appropriate tip, he gladly took the random $1 bill I had lying around with no attitude.

This place has some really great pizza and great service. Where else can you have pizza and watch classic wrestling matches of Hulk Hogan kicking ass while listening to some Rage Against The Machine?! And the delivery is pretty fast compared to other places I've had.

Pie-Eyed makes a pretty good pizza pie. If you need food in the wee hours, their thin crust pizza isn't bad. It's not great, but it isn't bad, and that is all it frankly needs to be as late as they are open. I layer on the parmesan and hot sauce anyway.

  • David J.

Ordered a medium pan and it was delivered quickly and hot and the driver was very friendly. I ordered a medium half pepperoni with mushroom, tomato and spinach and it was fantastic. There was plenty of yummy gooey cheese and plenty of sauce just like I prefer and the crust was very crisp and tasty. All in all a perfect delivery experience for my 1st time ordering and I plan to try it again or pick up late night.

Pie-Eyed is turning into the place that I hit on the way back home from a night out on the town if I'm in that particularly inebriated state that requires a slice of NY pizza. It's right off of the blue line on Chicago Ave, so it's really convenient if you live round there (like me). If you come in for a slice, the pizza is all preprepared and they heat it up in the oven for you. I just pick whatever looks freshest and go from there (for some reason I've always lucked out with sausage). I can't say it's the absolute best pizza, but it's certainly good. The place has been really reliable and the staff have been pretty friendly when I go in there as well.

this is my neighborhood pizza joint. can't say that its my favorite pie in the city but it definitely satiates my pizza fix when needed. i think i can confidently say that i like their cheese fries over their pizza. this says a lot considering i'm a bit of a frites snob. and as for the cheese, it's so fake and so good. love that stuff!

Recently I read in The Reader that this was voted Best of Chicago 2010's "Best Pizza" and I have to disagree. As far as pizza in Chicago is concerned, it is average at best. I have eaten there on several occasions and the only times that I thought it was wonderful were when nothing else in that area was open. Not awful, but the "Best Pizza" in Chicago it is not.

Even drunk this place is disgusting! I wanted to like it because a friend that was with us kept telling us it was a delicious choice, especially for late night fare. I do admit the mushrooms were good, but only when they first came out of the kitchen. The place itself is disgusting. There were flies all around the restaurant!!!! Even later that night, thinking back to that image of flies everywhere made me want to puke. [shiver] the image will haunt me forever. Pizza is a menu item to be respected in a town like Chicago, and especially as a late night pizza place, there are only really two things one must accomplish: big portions and fairly clean vicinities. While portions are big, the taste of their pizza was completely bland and the flies. omg. the flies. I think I might gag right now.

I had some friends in town and after a long night of drinkin, I was stuggling with how I could wrangle them some late night pizza. My doorman referred me to a menu and I swear, I thought this place was called "OPEN UNTIL 5AM". We happily ordered a pizza and cheese bread. Delivery was exceptionally fast and while I didn't love the pizza, it was edible and the cheesy bread was great! This definitely won't be a go-to spot for me but in case of future late night emergencies, I'll re-order from "OPEN UNTIL 5AM".

Pie Eyed Pizzeria is a pretty good place to grab a slice of pizza on the go Far from being excellent pizza but again pretty good for take out! the restaurant itself is a shabby little hole in the wall dive with a very small staff which are lacking in their customer service skills, but the food is Good. Parking can be a total pain in the ass since they are located right on the very corner in front of the subway entrance and a bus stop. Many of their customer seem to be walk in from around the neighbor hood. They do make a awesome meatball sandwich and the best chicken fingers ever. Their prices are a little on the high side but again I think the food is worth the price.

Ok, the pizza isn't the best. But the stories you can get, standing in line waiting for your pizza, priceless. This is pretty much an after hour joint and all the drunks come in. It's hilarious. The guys behind the counter are pretty cool and young. There's this one big guy that holds down the fort, so if you act a fool inside the place, one look and you'll be stone faced the whole time waiting for your pizza. We always get a slice and walk back home and put all these strange condiments on it. Some of the pizza ends up on the floor. All that matters is, Pie Eyed was part of a memorable (or not so memorable) night.

This place is cheaper than most other pizzerias, and the deep-dish is REALLY good. The tomato sauce is savory and there is not too much cheese (which is usually the case with deep-dish). Further, the sausage was good quality, which is rare for a hole-in-the-wall place like this. I think this place does a good slice of pizza, and they are friendly to everyone. The atmosphere is a little dismal, but all in all, if you're near Chicago blue line and don't want to be ripped off, try the pizza here. Especially the deep-dish.

WORST. HOTDOG. EVER. BUT. Their fries are good. That is the only reason they get the 2nd star. I'm serious, the hot dog wasn't close to a chicago style hot dog and was actually kind of gross. So disappointing.

Pizza was pretty good and the people working here are really nice. Its a good place to go for a slice of pizza late at night.

I went here for the first time and tried a slice of the Sausage Thin Crust Pizza ($3.50). The slice was huge, easily enough to fill me up, and I hadn't even chosen the biggest one. They're still a tad smaller than the monstrosities at Bacci, thankfully. The ingredients were fairly standard and the sausage was nothing out of the ordinary, but the cheese and sauce were fairly portioned and easily held up by the crust. The crust was on the soft side and could have used a lot more flavor (and char), but it wasn't bad. I ended up getting a few vegetables on the side of my slice by accident, which made me wish I had gotten the veggie pizza: crunchy onions and peppers paired beautifully with the rest of the ingredients. I might return just for that. I would probably return to delve deeper into their extensive menu. Also, they're open insanely late on weekends, so it's a perfect food opportunity for a drunken walk home.

Pizza- 3 stars... Service - I wish 0 stars was an option. How unfortunate for Pie-eyed! I have always liked this place, been a regular, for a while now, being that it is just 4 blocks away, and on my way home as I take the blue line and get off at the chicago stop. Why don't they deserve my money any more you say? I came here and ordered a pizza, because I didn't call it in, and it's Friday night, I expect to wait 30 minutes, maybe 45. An hour rolls by, I haven't eaten all day, stomach rumbling, and I realize, something isn't right here. So I check in with the guys on the progress of my pizza, and they proceeded to tell me the order was lost. Accidents happen, no biggie. Obviously I wanted my money back, but I expected some humility, an apology, a free slice or something. Not even a glimmer of remorse. Poor business sense makes for a poor business. This place hasn't been around that long and I'll be happy to see it replaced by another more business savvy pizza shop. By the way, we go to Bacci's now. Cheaper, delicious, and really effing fast. It's a couple miles down the road, at Chicago and Western, but they are always polite and efficient. Giordano's right around the corner delivers in this area quickly!

Simple pizzas for average prices. Great when you're starving and need something to eat quick and in a pinch, but definitely not a destination location. The service is fast and good, and you can't top the convenient location.

Disgusting. I find it hard to believe that anyone can mess up pizza...even the worst-rated pizza places on the block still remain delicious to me! Any type of saucy cheesey mess is always delicious! But Pie-Eyed...ugh...never again!!! Pizza only has 3 main, very basic components: crust, cheese and tomato sauce. How the eff do you mess that up? Here's how c/o of a 16" thin crust pizza from Pie-Eyed Pizzeria: Crust: Taste and consistency of a condensed saltine cracker. Cheese: Complete rubber (how does something so simple as melted cheese turn out like that...how!?!?) Sauce: Tasted like an overkill of a decade old neglected shaker of crappy dried basil Awwwwwful. A 16" is about $14, which isn't terrible, but after adding giardiniera + tax + delivery + tip, I ended up paying $23 to have a piece of shit brought to my doorstep....and hunger unsatisfied. Shoulda just walked a few blocks over to Village Pizza.

Love this local pizza place. We discovered it a few months back when we moved to River West & it's within walking distance of the apt. Have ordered delivery numerous times and always prompt & polite. The pizza is delicious - thin crust, some of the best you'll find in the city. We've also walked in and ordered a whole pizza or just a couple slices. Friendly and quick service. Prices are great too and there's always a coupon on their website. Yum!

Eh. I was kind of intrigued when it first opened up, and the late-night factor is a plus, but the bad things have outweighed the good, in my opinion. The people working there range from surly to outright rude. They actually expressed their disdain and refused to deliver to us because we were "too close." Well, we had a house full of people and didn't feel like cooking or going out - if we're paying for delivery, what's the problem? The food isn't great - bland beef sandwiches and so-so pizza; there are so many other, better options that it doesn't seem worth it to go back.

Have you had Chicago's Pizza ? I mean, come on, if you've actually lived in Chicago for any length of time, then I'm sure you've at least had a slice of their pizza at some point; and it was prob late night, post bar time. Well, if you've had Chicago's Pizza then you've pretty much had Pie-Eyed, imo. I found their pizza to be almost exactly like that of Chicago's Pizza, and while I haven't had it in ages, it's definitely a pizza you remember (aren't all pizza's memorable though, even the least noteworthy?). The missus brought home a few of their fairly huge slices the other evening and they were decent. I went w the basic cheese, she opted for the sausage. Both were nicely cooked, golden brown delicious cheese, a semi thin, chewy crust with a sweet red sauce...overall it did the trick and that's about it. In summation, Pie-eyed is aptly named b/c this is the sort of pizza i'd reserve for a late night, by the slice, pizza craving. Can't say i'd ever order for delivery or dine-in as there are just better places to be had in the City.

  • Kimberly K.

This isn't the most amazing pizza in the world, but it's good and by the slice. It's great for a late night snack or lazy afternoon lunch. They are open crazy hours! (until 5 AM) So, you'll never want for pizza in Noble Square.

    (3)
  • Kelli K.

Better than D'Augustinos pizza, way nicer service, super convenient. I work across the street at Soulistic Studio & Spa and these guys always have my order ready. Whoever said there's poor service is wrong. They are super nice and accommodating, and they have the best side salad and most reasonable priced pizza. I'm a fan.

Maybe I shouldn't have gone here sober. A couple of friends recommended Pie-Eyed, and since I just moved to the neighborhood, I tried out a couple of slices last night in the early evening. I've gotta honestly say--not impressed. I really want to give this place 3 stars because the guys working behind the counter are very friendly, the service is quick, and the pizza is cheap. But the truth of the matter is, if I'm rating an eatery, the heaviest emphasis goes on the quality of food, and in the case of Pie-Eyed Pizzeria, the pizza is bland and thoroughly uninteresting. And I'm not one who needs to be impressed by pizza. I mean, after all, it's pizza, not some fine cuisine. The biggest problem I had with the pizza was the ultra dry crust and the bland, dry globs of sauce. That's two thirds of a pizza right there; can't do much to salvage the slice at that point. I'll probably try this place again, but only if I'm drunk and need a late night snack. Hopefully, last night was an off night and my subsequent trip(s) will show an improvement.

Kool-aid with no sugar, cereal with no milk, late night pizza place with no pizza....wait, pizza place with no pizza, then why the f*&k are you still open, to cure our hunger with your warm personalities?

  • Agnes F.

if you ever find yourself craving pizza after an all night binge drinking session, this is the place for you coz quality wouldn't matter by then (and chances are, you won't remember what it taste like the next morning anyways) the pizza is so so but this is one of the few places in west town that is still open in the wee hours

    (2)
  • Danny O.

One of the very few places in Chicago that has a similar pizza to New York Style. I Love the big floppy slice with a sweeter sauce. They key though is to get your pie cut Pie Style instead of squares. When they cut it in squares it makes it too much like the mediocre "thin crust" that alot of places in town have. Thier slices are usually pretty good when you catch them fresh. Great fast delivery and good prices. I just moved out of the neighborhood, so I'll be missing my Pie Eyed Pie.

    (4)
  • Jeremy H.

Your pizza is okay but you're open very late. This is the only reason you have my business. I'm sorry i say "that" instead of "the" when I'm drunk. 2 stars. edit: because of the rate I frequent this place I have to bump the rating up to 3 stars. I can't rightly give this place only two stars when It allows me to close down a 4am bar with enough time to quell my hunger pangs. Truly my bad pie-eyed. my bad indeed."

    (3)
  • Digital M.

The pizza is pretty good. I like the fact that the ingredients are fresh. Mushrooms are sliced fresh which says a lot. Crust (hit it), Cheese (hit it), Ingredients(hit it), Sauce(a tad bit too sweet). Way better than Chicago Pizza.

    (4)
  • Mahendra N.

Pretty average pizza. The crust was thin for sure, but quite dry. Also, it is not hand tossed and is rolled. This almost always results in a cracker like consistency and is not very good. The sauce was good and it was cooked well. If its late and you are in a pinch, this will do, but there are many other pizzerias in the neighborhood that are far superior.

    (3)
  • John G.

Any place that stays open 'til 5am on the weekends is a-okay in my book. I work late and usually do not find much in the way of food when I'm getting off work. I have never had a bad experience at this place and the gents that work there are nice dudes that are down to earth. People's people. I am a big fan of the pizza as they tend to put a good amount of sauce on it. There is nothing crazy or special about it, but it has a good taste. Their fries are smaller and always crispy.

    (4)
  • Kira B.

This is my favorite stuffed pizza in Chicago. The ingredients are fresh, the sauce has just a trace of sweetness, and the crust is delicious without being overbearing. I have ordered from here several times and have never been disappointed.

    (5)
  • Chauncey P.

Very good pizza. I've been there twice and both times found the pizza to be better than anticipated. To me, it's just what you may expect. Late night fare. The place is small, I like that. Pizza is fresh, better still. Cost effective, you bet. If you are in the area, check it out. It's better than good.

    (4)
  • Tom I.

Crap pizza, but it's open late. They usually don't let you use the bathroom since it's in the back, which is not very good since the only time you should come here is late night after bars when you're trashed. Get a frozen pizza, chicagos pizza, or Mexican food instead.

    (2)

Really "Best Pizza in Chicago"?!?! What was the reader thinking when it gave that award to Pie-Eyed? It's decend drunk pizza at best....

    (1)
  • Jabber W.

Salty and dry thin crust but good in pinch when you something to go with that bottle of hooch. Used to be a 24 diner but no longer. "Open late" just isn't the same. Still worth a shot if you NEED pizza.

  • Daniel M.

This place has been a late-night savior, on many occasions. Up until my last order, I was a huge fan of this place, and would order delivery whether late-night or not. (This is why I give it 2 stars instead of one, maybe my most recent experience was just an off night for this place) But a couple of nights ago changed my view on things.. I'll keep this short: Ordered delivery, he told me it would be there within the hour. (I live about 10 blocks away) Asked him to include a menu, as I get pizza from there often, but my roommate threw out the one I had. He said sure no problem. An hour and 40 minutes later, my pizza shows up. No menu. I open up the box and there's a medium length, thick, brown HAIR intertwined between two of the slices. Just not something you want to see when you've been waiting so long to eat! On top of all this, the quality of the pizza seems to have gone down. It just didn't have that freshness that it usually does.

food is amazing, staff is really friendly and treats you like family. i started going there about a year ago and it is by far one of the best pizza places in chicago

not great... not bad but just OK... fills the void for some grub around that neck of the woods for people who don't want to eat the mystery meat from the lady grilling outside of Butterfly social club... supposedly they have more veggie pizza options but I have only seen cheese in slice form at the counter... They will get a second shot.

probably as close as you get around here to new york style pizza. it's still not even close, but like i said - as close as you get. it's a little different than most places around here. nice that it's cheap and very decent. great place to drop in for a hangover.

    (3)
  • Rampelle A.

i've been here sober and drunk... AWESOME both times! its nice that the employees know what to expect from the late night crowd and are still cool about what the cat drags in. pizza is great, fries are good too! check it out!

  • Austin O.

I really like pie-eyed. Best neighborhood pizza place in the area. The crust is really good, so are the toppings. The sauce is a little sweet for my taste, but overall the pizza is quite good. Plus the service is friendly. On the whole, way better than Bella's

    (4)
  • Jen S.

Good food after a late night! Open LATE! Always friendly guys working.

This has to be probably the worst pizzeria in Chicago. The cheese & sauce are terribly bland, The crust is absolute cardboard..........No taste whatsoever.

    (1)
  • Trent M.

For some reason I find myself craving their pizza, even when there are other places open that are clearly better. The pizza is always pretty good, super cheap, and they are open late. The guys who work there are really nice too boot. The food is better when you go in an get a slice, there is something not as good about their delivery...

    (4)
  • Ren H.

This is the answer to any late night pizza cravings, drunk or sober. Their thin crust pizza is pretty good and they are open until midnight weekdays and Fridays and Saturdays open until 5 and 6 AM! They even deliver into the wee hours of the night, its awesome!

  • nathanael u.

this is good pizza and its good by chicago standards. i think a lot of these reviews would rate it higher if Pie-eyed had never been listed in the Reader's top 20 because that does make one expect greatness, and these guys only deliver good. they do it at reasonable prices and with quick delivery, so 4 stars it is

    (4)
  • Chelsea S.

Fresh toppings and excellent thin crust pizza. Best by the slice, eaten in the wee hours of the morning.

    (5)
  • Anjali S.

First, I've ordered from here a couple of times now. Below Average Pizza - lacks the minimally required flavor and texture. And the surprising uncalled for cherry on top - Extremely rude customer service. It's almost like they're trying not to have sober loyal customers. Need I say more?

    (1)
  • Austin G.

    (5)
  • Raj A.

    (2)
  • Chaz A.

fuck every review that isn't 5 stars i miss this place so much from when i was in high school i have it delivered to me. to the inconvenience of pie eyed lol. the point is without pie eyed in high school i would've starved to death so forever thanks. it's a good fucking slice of pizza and a pop for a little over 5 bucks fuck off everyone who aint agree

  • Si A.

    (4)
  • Mira S.

New York thin crust pizza drunk while stumbling home from the bars.

    (3)
  • Liza P.

    (4)
  • Paul F.

Considering I only eat the pizza slices when I'm drunk, my rating may be a bit generous... But the slices are huge and tasty!

  • d a.

  • J. A. L.

  • Jennifer D.

    (4)
  • Marc E.

I'm in the neighborhood a lot and eat here a couple times a week. Pizza should be the obvious route (their to-go slices are the best in the neighborhood), but then they also have these weekly specials -meatball sandwich and chicken parmesan- that particularly strike my tastebuds.

    (5)

Simple slice of pizza here folks, nothing more nothing less. They are open till 5am on Friday and Saturdays.

    (3)
  • Kenny O.

Hands down best thin crust pizza in the area. Open till 4am on the weekends, so they get drunken orders from me all of the time. Their top competition is D'Agostinos and I personally favor Pie Eyed's sauce over theirs. I've never had anything besides their pizza.

    (5)

  • Keyona D.

What looks like an unassuming little pizza joint from the outside houses the driest, most tasteless pizza that I've probably ever eaten. The slices are large, sure, and they are also mediocre. In a city known for great pizza, you can safely pass this one by.

Super fast, cheap, and awesome. Plus we checked in with Foursquare and got 20% off our order, what's not to like about that? The reason it didn't get four or five stars is simply because this is Chicago, there are lots of other amazing pizza places out there. Gotto be fair!

For being a quick grab-a-slice-on-the-go, this place is awesome! Their pizza is pretty good. Although you shouldn't expect a gourmet slice, you should expect a good, hot, gooey slice of pizza that is very generous in size.

  • Daniel F.

    (5)
  • Amanda M.

WORST. HOTDOG. EVER. BUT. Their fries are good. That is the only reason they get the 2nd star. I'm serious, the hot dog wasn't close to a chicago style hot dog and was actually kind of gross. So disappointing.

  • Grace L.

Hopefully, last night was an off night and my subsequent trip(s) will show an improvement.

if you ever find yourself craving pizza after an all night binge drinking session, this is the place for you coz quality wouldn't matter by then (and chances are, you won't remember what it taste like the next morning anyways) the pizza is so so but this is one of the few places in west town that is still open in the wee hours

    (2)

This is my favorite stuffed pizza in Chicago. The ingredients are fresh, the sauce has just a trace of sweetness, and the crust is delicious without being overbearing. I have ordered from here several times and have never been disappointed.

Salty and dry thin crust but good in pinch when you something to go with that bottle of hooch. Used to be a 24 diner but no longer. "Open late" just isn't the same. Still worth a shot if you NEED pizza.

It just didn't have that freshness that it usually does.

not great... not bad but just OK... fills the void for some grub around that neck of the woods for people who don't want to eat the mystery meat from the lady grilling outside of Butterfly social club... supposedly they have more veggie pizza options but I have only seen cheese in slice form at the counter... They will get a second shot.

probably as close as you get around here to new york style pizza. it's still not even close, but like i said - as close as you get. it's a little different than most places around here. nice that it's cheap and very decent. great place to drop in for a hangover.

i've been here sober and drunk... AWESOME both times! its nice that the employees know what to expect from the late night crowd and are still cool about what the cat drags in. pizza is great, fries are good too! check it out!

I really like pie-eyed. Best neighborhood pizza place in the area. The crust is really good, so are the toppings. The sauce is a little sweet for my taste, but overall the pizza is quite good. Plus the service is friendly. On the whole, way better than Bella's

This has to be probably the worst pizzeria in Chicago. The cheese & sauce are terribly bland, The crust is absolute cardboard..........No taste whatsoever.

For some reason I find myself craving their pizza, even when there are other places open that are clearly better. The pizza is always pretty good, super cheap, and they are open late. The guys who work there are really nice too boot. The food is better when you go in an get a slice, there is something not as good about their delivery...

This is the answer to any late night pizza cravings, drunk or sober. Their thin crust pizza is pretty good and they are open until midnight weekdays and Fridays and Saturdays open until 5 and 6 AM! They even deliver into the wee hours of the night, its awesome!

this is good pizza and its good by chicago standards. i think a lot of these reviews would rate it higher if Pie-eyed had never been listed in the Reader's top 20 because that does make one expect greatness, and these guys only deliver good. they do it at reasonable prices and with quick delivery, so 4 stars it is

Fresh toppings and excellent thin crust pizza. Best by the slice, eaten in the wee hours of the morning.
