The food is delicious. The best guac for $3.50; u will love it. I'm normally not a fan of refried beans but theirs is delish. The rice is fluffy and authentic tasting. The cole slaw is delicious. The only prob I have is they always speak Spanish to me. Even though I'm not, they declare I am. The curse for being racially mixed. I strongly recommend them.

We always order our chicken here and it's amaZing. A whole chicken meal comes with rice, beans and tortillas. The horchata is very flavorful and rich, ohhhh don't forget to order the strawberries with cream, they are just delicious. The workers will welcome you with a smile and they are very friendly

Pollos asados a la parilla!!! Yet another grilled chicken review. The place is nestled right in between a subway restaurant and a currency exchange. It is a small place but always clean. The service is always nice and fast. The place is kinda small with some bars against the wall where you can eat. I usually take it to go. Chicken is grilled and good in flavor. Sides are good and limited but go well with the chicken. They do have grilled onion and jalapenos. They also have flautas that are ok. Usual drink menu. Not a destination, but if the hood and hungry this is a cool place to have a bite.

This place is one of the "RARE" finds you will ever have the pleasure of Enjoying on 55th and California Ave.. I was absolutely taken back at how "GOOD" their chicken is! When you combine the chicken, tortillas, beans and rice into a hand made taco and top it off with their 5 star grilled onions and jalapenos......Man -O- Man look out! It's a party that will rock your taste buds!

Wow I just had this chicken. My father brought some home. We would always eat from el chisme and pollo feliz but wow! This chicken is awesome. Perfect tender taste! Rice is awesome and the salsa is smooth! My new favorite chicken!!

Chicken and potato flautas are so good! Comes with two different sauces and sour cream. Mashed potatoes are good as well and come in different portions. One thing I didn't like about my visit (which has happened twice already) is that I placed an order for pickup. Waited then came in to find out my order ticket was still there with no one working in it. Didn't wait that long but that was the point of me calling it in. Place is pretty small and can get pretty crowded.

Even as you drive by 55th & California, roll your window and smell ! That alone will be enough to awaken all sorts of hunger and so then just pull into the parking lot and run into the PALENQUE Restaurant! They also have a daily special where you can have some delicious char-grilled chicken with a variety of Mexican-style recipes. Make sure to include get some grilled onions & peppers! Enjoy!!!

I'll keep this review nice and short. This place has good chicken and some of the best Cajun fries out there! Even when I'm not hungry and want a snack, I stop in and get some fries. I would highly recommend this place!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
