luv this spot.. It in the hood, but its a really well ran black owned & operated spot. Very clean jazzy music playing in the back ground ( a la wnua). theyhave exposed brick with a few paintings put up. I normally get the turkey bacon egg & cheese sandwich on wheat toast. (Ive had the pancakes there b4 as well), but last time I went I decided to try the bisucits... Oh my damn.. MY INNER FAT GIRL WAS AWAKENED. very tasty!.. def check this spot out, the ppl are nice & its cool to be able to grab a quick breakfast bite . The only reason why I didnt give then 5 stars is becuase they can take a lil while for carry out...Also, they close @ 2pm ;)

The breakfast at Ms. Biscuit is simply delicious! I would even call it soul-satisfying. I am not exaggerating. Everything tastes homemade. Their biscuits are divine. Buttery, slightly sweet, perfect texture, melts in your MOUTH!!! My vegetarian omelet was perfectly prepared. The servers are very attentive--my water glass and coffee cup never went unfilled. The restaurant is tucked near the end of a residential street, just north of 55th Street on Wabash, next door to a hoagy shop and a car wash. Based on an outdoor area in the front of the restaurant, it seems an outdoor patio may be in the works. I didn't ask anyone to confirm, but it would be a nice addition. The restaurant's decor is nice and simple. The seating area is framed by exposed-brick walls and colorful still-life paintings. It is a very clean and comfortable environment. I felt at home. Actually, I wanted to put my feet up. My dining experience was so positive, the food was so good, I went back twice within three days. It's in a new location from the old days on South Chicago Avenue, and wasn't crowded when we went on Saturday at noon. But I know the crowds will come soon!! Or maybe it was my lucky day. Either way, Ms. Biscuit offers simple, straightforward breakfast food--if you want banana rum pancakes with carmelized pecans you're at the wrong place. But if you want good service, tasty food like steak and eggs, Denver omelet, French toast, a good cup of coffee, the softest biscuits you've EVER had (with or without gravy), come to Ms. Biscuit. They also have turkey bacon and sausage (links or patties). Please check it out and if you do, YELP about it!!

Wonderful place, great service! Street parking was easy at the height of Sunday breakfast . The place is small but nicely decorated and very modern (no booths but there is a breakfast counter). I wouldn't recommend 6+ groups. The reasonably priced menu is simple front/back but covers all of the traditional AfrAmer offerings e.g. salmon croquettes, rice as a side. Waitress Stacey was INCREDIBLY good at anticipating our needs but made sure to ask too. And the food? Very good! Omelets are flat, but I was happy they had turkey sausage. Large portions of grits and hashbrowns (Stacey offered peppers&onions with the potatos when I usually have to prompt at other restaurants.) Signature biscuits- great! Not a five star cuz...the layout of the place means a cold draft when the entry door is opened in the winter, plus the acoustics make things loud enough to make conversation difficult.

I use to love this place until today. My friends & I would eat here at least once a week. Thus morning I decided to get a to go order on my way out of town, long story short it was horrible. I called to let them know & the female manager told me I should have kept the food to bring it back. REALLY...I am so disappointed. P.S. I'm still waiting on that returned phone call.

ms biscuit had no biscuits! i came from chicagos northside as i saw the review of this restaurant on one of the cable shows and since i was visiting family i thought this would be a wonderful surprise for my family member..i thought about biscuits and gravy in eager anticipation as people on the north side know great biscuits are hard to find..we went on a saturday as they were to be open til 2:00 pm and we arrived about about 1:15 pm..waited about 1:30 till someone came to the front to ask how many in our party...didnt mind the wait...when we sat down a fellow diner advised us to get comfortable as they had been there about 2 hours as we are use to waiting for food again no problem if it is good...when the waitress finally brought coffee and asked our order and we said biscuits we were advised without an "i'm sorry" no biscuits...(WHAT?) no signature dish that they are famous for?..we ordered anyway...the food was wonderful but because they advertise as MS BISCUIT and didnt put away some dough for the last hour diners is why they only get 3 stars ...dont go in the last hour...biscuits unavailable..but the food is good...we are still craving a biscuit...maybe i can get one from popeyes :)

A nice south side breakfast staple. Their biscuits are amazing! Also, they have turkey products! Especially if you get them grilled. I like Ms. Biscuit as a breakfast pick-up spot than an eat in restaurant. I appreciate the excellent customer service and fast service (like 7-10min for two ppl's meals to be prepared).

A bit of a wait for the server to arrive. The menu is a bit confusing at first glance. The food is excellent, and fun wait staff.

I've heard so many great reviews about this place, so decided to meet my friends for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. First, the seating was chaotic. It took way to long for us to be seated. Second, they combined a small and large table to seat us...bad first impression. Third, our food wasn't prepared how we'd asked (not the waiters fault) by the chef. Fourth, our bill had extra meals on it. I can go on and on. We asked to see the manager and he declined to see us, unprofessional! The food was nothing special, mediocre at it's best. Usually, I take home a doggy bag but didn't bother. If it wasn't for our waiter I would have given 2 stars. However, she saved the day! I wish we remembered her name but two waiters helped and I don't want to give credit to the wrong person.

I've always been a fan of the food, but after today I refuse to support them ever again! My wife ordered green tea with her breakfast. The server forgot to bring it to her while she was eating. No problem, mistakes happen from time to time. But the server insisted that she have the tea and my wife refused because we were leaving. The server brings the bill, I pay with my card (USE CASH AT MS. BISCUIT) and now I was charged a completely different amount. The server made the error of adding the green tea to my bill. Instead of removing the charge placed on my card. She gave me the money in cash for the tea! I could have been petty and requested the money for the tax I paid on the tea, but I did not. I just left the cash she gave me for her tip. Hopefully, one day we will learn that customer service is equally important as exceptionally tasting food!

We decided to check this place out one Saturday afternoon. We found out they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner so we figured 3/4p would be the best time to go. There were a few parties dining when we arrived. We were greeted right away and seated. Our server was hands on in the beginning but became forgetful throughout our time there. I ordered the fried catfish dinner. It came with two large fillets, three sides of your choice and a side salad with one biscuit. The food was seasoned well. I had the red beans and rice, greens and Mac in cheese. The portions were huge and the bill was cheat. The quality of the food was excellent. There were 4 in our party and we had dessert as well the everything was delicious

Someone I knew said they wanted to grab breakfast and stated they have been to this breakfast spot that was really good but couldn't remember the name. So I went on Yelp and looked for places and mentioned "Ms. Biscuit" he said "YEAH THAT'S THE PLACE!" I've heard of it but never been. The place is a bit loud from all the customers but the service was good, they ask you everything you want including Pork or Turkey. I had a Turkey sausage and bacon omellette w/raisin toast it was pretty good.

This would have been 4 stars for service and food BUT the owner killed it all. I'm only giving one star because you have to give something to write a review. The ROACH walked across our table while we were enjoying the best part of our meal, the owner Dylan justified its presence by saying "we serve all types of households here." This was a clear, intentional effort at blaming the customer. Just despicable but it gets worse when you think about the way he treats his staff. Me and two of my friends decided to spend our Saturday morning enjoying salmon croquettes, biscuits, grits, eggs, hash browns and pancakes - we thought one of the best places to do this would be Ms. Biscuits. After a short wait (a wait we thought would have been longer) and a 2nd short wait at our table we were greeted by our server. She was sharp, quick, had an ear for detail and took our order like a pro - we were impressed. While we are not easily impressed she impressed us further at her ability to multi-task, working several tables while still remaining personable. She was just damn good at what she did. Overall, we were having a GREAT experience until the roach walked across our table, not once but twice - right when my girl was able to kill it. It was one of those roaches that you know has family near by ......if you know what I mean. Anyway, after a long wait the "manager" comes out and said the "owner" sent her over ("manager") and this is what she tells us "you should know that we serve all types of households, we haven't had this problem" and after a long pause had the nerve to follow THAT with a disingenuous "I'm sorry", while providing absolutely no remedy for the injury that had just occurred. She leaves and then we ask for the "owner". He comes out with this smug smile, clearly ready to stick to his shameful justification of "the roach came in with my customers." Without making this post longer than necessary here are some highlights of our conversation with him: - We serve all types of households......... That was his story and he was sticking to it. He could not understand the error in blaming the customer and instead insisted on maintaining this position. I advised him that the most appropriate thing would have been to sincerely apologize and offer a remedy - he didn't get it, and instead went on to say "people always trying to get their meal taken care of." As my debit card sat on the table. - "This table turned over several times today, especially after Pastor Hannah let out his sunrise service." Another BS excuse, still no apology. - "I have plenty of haters." Whatever the hell that is supposed to mean. Sometimes, folks really ain't hating. It's simply when we have "clownish" ways well......people call you on your BS. Still no apology. -"I don't care if you write a post or a yelp review, people who do that want a free meal or are hating anyway." He said this with a smile. This was his response to my saying "you only have 3 stars on yelp so I didn't plan on posting a bad review - shit our waitress WORKED her butt off and the food was good. Still no apology. - and finally he says, "Don't worry about leaving her a tip, because I'll take it from her. This bill I have here will come out of all of their pockets." I was OUT DONE!!! Still no apology. We even tried to give her the tip for her hard work and her response "Don't give me a tip, he's just gonna take it from me." I WAS DOUBLY OUT DONE. Also, he only agreed (reluctantly) to credit are bill after a constant back and forth discussion of the situation. STILL no apology. Someone please advise this man that this was wrong on SO MANY LEVELS. Advise him to learn the value of his workers and more importantly his customers because we are the reasons he has a thriving business. Speaking of business, he gets no more of mine.

We arrived just in time to beat the Sunday after church crowd. It was still pretty packed so servers were busy and rare to come around. Food was decent but the portion was huge and we ended up bringing most of the food home. Vegetable omelette with hashbrown and biscuits and gravy - first time ordering an omelette without any meat but surprisingly delicious! generous pieces of veggies, juicy, cheesy, and seasoned just right. hashbrown and biscuits were okay, nothing special. Do note that there is an extra charge for gravy. It's a small charge so I didn't mind but would have liked to have been informed when the server asked if I wanted gravy on my biscuits. My husband ordered the denver omelette with pancakes and grits and wasn't thrilled with his choice. I was excited to try the salmon croquette since so many reviews have mentioned it but didn't find it to be anything special.

I've been to this place a few times and the customer service and food has always been "good enough", but today was the exception. 1st, I had to ask a lady with red and black hair if "we", the patrons, could be seated. She acted as if we were disturbing hair. The young guy with locs, bussing tables had to take the reigns and got us seated. Once seated, we were given water and menus. It took us no longer than 5 minutes to decide what we were going to eat. After an additional ten minutes, we were remained unhelped. Again, I was able to get the attention of the bus boy and I informed him that we had yet to be waited on. He immediately went and advised a group of waitresses that were just standing around about our situation. Moments later, a waitress is heading our way, only to bypass my table and help the table next to use where the patrons were clearly just seated. That was the last straw for me - gathered our things and proceeded to leave. On the way out, I adamantly thanked the bus boy for his assistance. Btw, he should be promoted to qaulity assurance mgr. and he should train the rest of the crew workers at this restaurant. This place is horrible in regards to customer service and this wasn't my first time experiencing shoddy service from this place, but I am a believer in second chance. Now, I know, that was one chance too many.

3.5 stars would be a little more accurate. It's a shame because it has everything to be a good breakfast place on the Southside but the thing that kills it is service. If you are going during a peak hour like Saturday morning, you can almost forget it. It's usually a line that sometimes is out the door and even once you are seated, you can almost expect another wait on service. Breakfast is the worst meal in the day to want to wait on as it is but it's even worse when you are sitting around and you see you aren't the only one waiting. So where is the food? Luckily, my last visit was a weekday morning so the restaurant wasn't crowded. Was able to get a seat soon as I walked in. The food is pretty good. I ordered a skillet dish with biscuits. Get the grilled biscuits; they are better, imo. Service overall was ok as well. With this place, it's all about timing.

We arrived at the breakfast spot at 11:22am didn't see the waitress until 11:35 then she took our order. It took her until 12:05 to bring coffee. After all of that we decided to wait for the food, it took them approximately 1hour to bring us some chicken that was brown on the inside and over cooked. The Italian beef was dry and bread was falling apart. The corn beef sandwich meat was over cooked and hard. They also flooded the sandwich(corn beef) with peppers. Will not be returning at all. Bad experience and I'm still hungry. Had to give one star but they don't deserve that.

2/5 is reflective of my entire experience today at Ms. Biscuit. The food was subpar at best. The biscuits were dry. I absolutely dislike the use of cornmeal on my salmon croquettes. They were very mealy and crunchy in a bad way. They also lacked moisture. I requested for my hashbrowns to be crispy and they were not. The pancakes started off good but had a weird after taste. Our waitress rarely came around to check on us. When we asked for extra items (i.e. cheddar cheese and ketchup), she brought them when the meal was practically over. However, she did apologize for the service. Unfortunately, I won't be back anytime soon. Even if someone were to treat me to breakfast or brunch...

Never going back again! Ever! Looks nice on the inside, but the service is extremely terrible! First time I went, we had to leave because our server never came back after saying hi. We set there 5-10 minutes. We went back today after a couple months and guess what! The same thing happens but this time we were seated and that was it. Literally we waited 10 minutes and still no water. I had to go get someone to demand water. Still no one brung water. So we got up to leave, then all of a sudden someone runs over like "what's wrong"? Your service is whack, that's what's wrong! What I don't understand is how fast someone ran to our needs once we decided to leave, but no one ran to our needs after we were seated. The only good thing was my son was with us and this served as an important lesson for him. Never accept crap service for your hard earned money!

First time here!!! I love black owned mom and pop spots. I order the Salmon croquettes and they were cooked in the same oil as everything else. They were very hard. I won't order this again. They also had overdone hash browns. (burnt) The French toast was okay. I may try something else if I decided to go back.

Oh man, it was hard to give 4 stars today. 3 or even 2 stars may be more appropriate...but...I'm being considerate of the fact that I have seen improvements at Ms. Biscuit. Service is still not the best but it's not the worst either. I dropped a star because of the food. The salmon croquettes were so bad that I couldn't eat them. My sweetheart said they looked and felt like hockey pucks. Lol. They did! They were hard, dry and made with WAY too much cornmeal. Yuck. So disappointing. Really ruined my entire meal. Anyway, I will return but I'll order other breakfast items instead.

Nope. Nope. And nope. Don't go here unless you're legit starving. Went on a Friday around 11am. Wasn't super packed but you would think it was by the extremely slow service. Sat for a solid 15 minutes before even having our order taken. Saw a few others get their food before us when they came in after us. Some man actually got up and left the restaurant once his food came because he was so dissatisfied with service, I'm assuming. It's not like they were short on staff either. There were at least 10-15 people on staff. I thought ok, their service is bad so the food has to be good, right? Negative. Everything was underseasoned. I got the catfish breakfast meal. Catfish, eggs, grits, and biscuits. The biscuits were the only thing halfway decent on that plate. Overall, very underwhelmed. Seems they need to have a staff meeting to talk about how to be more efficient to make sure customers are satisfied. They def have an extensive menu and some potential to improve. I really hope they do, but until then, I won't be back.

Ok. Not much to brag on. They gave my order, wings and fries, away twice to to-go orders while I watched my friend eat her breakfast in front of me. The fries were bland and disgusting. Wings were ok. My friend said the French toast was amazing. Try for yourself i definitely won't be back

Loved it !! First off you must try the hash browns with the peppers & onions and don't forget to add cheddar cheese. The pancakes are to live for- bacon was perfectly crispy!! It was so very tasty :)) Our waiter was great !! There was no wait, our food was nice & fresh.!! I will definitely be returning.!!!

Had the opportunity to dine here with Jackie! The service was TOP NOTCH from the host greeting us to rapidly seating us. Our waitress "Jackie" was superb! she exhibited superior customer service and attentiveness. She ensured we understood the menu options and provided us with many recommendations! The portion here is very LARGE you receive a lot of FOOD for the more than generous pricing. Pricing is VERY reasonable and ample street parking. The dining room is very modern and exceptionally clean! When I am back in Chicago I'll be certain to dine here!

I heard a lot about Ms. Biscuits so of course when my girlfriend invited me out for breakfast, I was eager to try it. Upon entering the restaurant, I fell in love with the exposed brick walls and loft style setting but then it immediately went down from there. The hostess was on the phone and pacing back and forth while my friend and I stood there for 5 minutes. She never acknowledged us. We were greeted after about 6 mins by a server who just happened to be walking past to another table. We were seated at a table with no silverware and waited another 5 minutes for a server to approach the table. The menu is straight forward so I was able to order with ease. My friends pancakes came out without syrup (which they then brought out in a small to-go plastic cup), my toast with no butter and the hashbrowns were not seasoned. It was very loud and noisy to the point that I had to lean in over my food to talk to my friend. The service was average at best as I received more service from the bussers and runners than my actual sever. The space itself is nice but loud. Not sure, if I will return.

I wish I had known about this place during the summer. I imagine the outdoor patio would have been a great place to have breakfast. Ms Biscuit would have easily gotten a 4* review if the coffee had been decent. In this day and age with a Starbucks in every neighborhood, there is no excuse to serve the weak-ass stuff Ms Biscuit is passing off as coffee. Especially at a restaurant specializing in breakfast food! The breakfast food was good. Get the biscuits grilled - unless you likes heavy doughy type biscuits (which many people do). I prefer lighter biscuits. I had the hot sausage with eggs and rice and I really enjoyed it. The sausage was a nice change of pace from the usual links or patties. The server was extremely efficient and knowledgable about the food preparation. This is a great neighborhood cafe. I'll definitely return for breakfast, but I'll take my own coffee next time.

I was very disappointed this time. Our wait time to be seated was totally unacceptable, after being seated there was another 15 minute wait to have our orders taken. The ambience was much too loud for a meal setting. The cozy setting would be excellent for a casual business meeting but I would fear the ambience would be much too distracting. Lastly, the lighting in the men's restroom was atrocious! I hope these things get better very soon.

I have this place 4 stars due to the lack of customer service given. Me and my cousin went here on a Saturday morning for Brunch about a week ago. Overall, I would go back but I would want them to make some minor changes. When we arrived it was about 12:45 pm. There was no hostesses waiting to greet us but there was a big sign that asked for people to wait to be seated. There was no line but we waited about 5 minutes before someone came to greet us. After we were seated it took about another 10-15 mins before we were seen by a waiter/waitress. In fact, they had to almost convince someone to come wait our table. This was most disappointing part. When we ordered, the food came fairly quickly. For the price you pay, which is cheap, it is decent food. I'm usually skeptical about breakfast food and places but I would go back for their breakfast. Also, they give you a large portion too! If they can improve on the service, I will gladly give this establishment 5 stars!

Visited for breakfast today, and the service was by far THE WORST EVER!! It is typically slow, but I've overlooked it in the past because the food is really good. Today was my breaking point. Waited more than 15 minutes for someone to take our order, and when my food arrived 40 minutes later, my eggs and bacon weren't prepared correctly. I asked the server to simply remove them from my bill, and was told that the manager wouldn't do it because,"that's just the way it comes." Mind you, she'd already taken my uneaten eggs and bacon away from the table at this point. I asked for the manager to be sent to our table, and was told after having waited another 15-20 minutes that he was too busy to come to the table, and that I'd have to pay the full bill. I politely refused, calculated the total for what I was actually able to eat, and LEFT. As I said before, I've overlooked the poor service in the past, but the way I was treated today was completely unacceptable! It is unfortunate that some Black businesses feel like they can treat their Black patrons any type of way, and still receive their business. Ms Biscuit's management needs to take a look at the way they are running this restaurant, because they will soon find themselves out of business if they continue down this pathway of poor service. I witnessed several people walking out today because they'd waited for way too long to be acknowledged. They even managed to lose someone's credit card today. I won't be back until they change!

I thought that my meal good. I had a classic breakfast...pancakes, eggs, and sausages and of course of the biscuit with gravy. It wasn't memorable. The customer service is not welcoming as I enjoy those chain-smoking waitresses who make a lil' chit chat that you see on movies that you meet at other breakfast joints. And there's no unlimited coffee, big NO NO. Good to come if you live in the area but no reason to come if you live far.

What a terrible experience! After my eggs arrived with with a nasty hair on top, I disputed my bill for being charged À la cart for items listed in a combination order. The owner/manager was unapologetic, argumentative and refused to accommodate me as a patron. To add insult to injury, when I asked him to please remove the $2.15 charge as a good will gesture, he said, "I made you another one, that's good enough!" I asked him if losing a customer was worth $2 and he said, "I have to protect the profit margin of this corporation!" So... In this case the OWNER is always right! Hmmm... Never underestimate the power of social media!!!" If only businesses would equate service with the $$dollar?

We waited 50 minutes for our food, manager is cooking and we asked for him 20 minutes ago. I won't be back! The waitress is unbothered about it and scarcely around. I'm done! Then she wants to know what's wrong, lol!

Workers were slow. Food is good. BUT MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE. I found a strand of hair in my food. To compensate, the manager wanted to give me 10 percent off my bill - that equals to 24 cent off my bill after tax. 24 cent. I explained my concern again and the manager was difficult. The manager didn't even offer an apology for the incident. And what's worse - she reacted as if it happens often. I appreciate the business for the jobs and revenue it brings to the local community but personally.. I'm never eating here again.

Went there for the first time on 05-09-15. I ordered the smoked sausage omelette with hash browns, biscuits and apple juice. The food was delicious and the restaurant was clean, nice staff. The only suggestion I would give is to tell staff not to talk so much. The cooks and servers were extremely loud. It was over barring, not professional. I'll go back for sure.

For my first time here, I was neither blown away nor disappointed. The wait was a little longer than I would have liked, and there was no hostess to seat us, just a busboy who waived us over to a seat after 5-8 mins. The waitress who helped us was very dry & standoffish. She came and dropped the check WITH the meal and didn't even come to check up on our satisfaction nor came to offer me a refill on my beverage. The ONLY thing I can say is that service aside, the food was decent and the restaurant itself was pretty chic. I would go here again, but wouldn't make it a regular spot of mine.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! I had one of the worst experiences ever at this restaurant. A friend and I went to breakfast. We waited almost an hour for our food. When the waitress, who smelled like alcohol, finally brought our food I asked for condiments. It took her another 20 minutes to bring them and at this point my food was cold. I stated that I did not want to send it back to be warmed because I was afraid that it would take too long to come back to me. The waitress assured me that she would bring it right back. Of course she did not. It took almost another 20 minutes for her to bring my food back. At this point my friend was done eating and I no longer wanted the uneaten food. In the meantime our bill was brought and they had charged us for another meal that we'd never even ordered. We asked to see the manager and he refused to come out instead sending another waitress. I told her about the incorrect bill and that I no longer wanted the uneaten meal. She came back with the corrected bill but the food that I had not eaten was still on there. She stated that the manager, who still wouldn't come out the back stated that I was responsible for the food becuase even though I hadn't eaten it I should've sent it back earlier. At this point my firned and I walked to front to talk to the manage directly since he would not come to us. He consistently talked over me and when I told him I was not dont talking he stated that "When I start talking you need to be quiet!" At that point I left. I refused to pay for the uneaten food nor to be disrespected as a consumer. Its unfornate too becuase I believe in patronizing neighborhood businesses but not at the expense of a decent dining expereince. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Im totally not impressed at all. The service here is awful. As we came in, we were not greeted, we waited 15-20 minutes before someone waved us to "come on". We sat another 5-10 minutes with no water or utensils. We asked could someone take our order and the waitress said "let me see who's supposed to help you". Finally we get a menu... the menu states if an item such as gravy is requested on the side it us considered a la carte and will be an additional charge, not to mention a to go box is also extra... worst service I have ever had.

This is one of my go to breakfast spots. The service can be great or just mediocre, but I have never had bad service. The food is always consistently good. The portions are huge for more than fair prices. This is a neighborhood gem. I can only attest to the breakfast. I have never eaten the lunch/dinner food. So this review only applies to the breakfast.

I've heard great things about Ms. Biscuit over the years so I decided to give it a try even though many of the yelp reviews weren't all that positive. Sadly, I should have headed the warning from my fellow yelpers... I stopped in one morning for breakfast with a couple of friends. While they both really enjoyed their food, I can't say I enjoyed mine all that much. I ordered the #2 which consisted of the french toast, sausage and eggs. I also got a side of bacon. Everything was okay but nothing to get excited over. The eggs were bland and bacon was just okay. The sausage was gross so I only took one bite. The french toast wasn't all that great either. Our waitress was pleasant but she seemed to be MIA for most of the meal. She took forever to bring silverware to the able, didn't bring our drinks until after the meal had arrived and had to be asked more than once to bring the check. Then after she had the credit card, she must have held onto it for nearly 10 minutes before returning it. The photos of the catfish dinner looked delicious but I doubt if I'll bother returning to check it out.

I visited Ms. Biscuit on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't crowded we got a table right before the rush started. First let me say if you are looking for a buttery flaky biscuit this is NOT the place to go. I ordered the steak skillet, it was good. My friend ordered 2 eggs and ham with biscuits and hash browns he said he's had better. My son ordered the burger and a side of fries.. He said it was good but I can't understand why we had to order a side of fries just so he could have a complete meal. My daughter had a short stack and bacon (2 pancakes) she said it was good. We ordered a side of salmon croquettes just to taste them, never again I'm still ISO the seasoning that would have given the croquettes flavor. They do give you a lot of food. Our server was gone the whole time we were at her table after the food was delivered other than to drop the check. Overall, I would make this place my last choice for breakfast, and will not return anytime soon.

We were there for our friend's birthday breakfast. We told our waitress about his birthday. Later the waitress & waiters sang happy birthday at our table. Their voices were great & energizing! The service & food were great! I had the ribeye steak & eggs with biscuit! Loved it! They are known for their biscuits, hence the name, "Ms Biscuit." I will definitely go back and bring my family & friends to try this place!

Good place to eat! Giant pancakes and big portions all around. Friendly waitstaff and pretty inexpensive for a city restaurant.

Although I use yelp on a regular basis (like daily) I haven't written a review in a while due to my hectic schedule. But the food that I just ate was so disgusting and I feel so ripped off I felt the need to take advantage of this useful tool we call yelp. I moved to Chicago from LA about 3 weeks ago and something that I have enjoyed was the food. My Sunday routine is to get soul food. I called and ordered blackened catfish, mac and cheese, candied yams and "mixed corn". Let me briefly sum this up: -Catfish, although blackened, it had the flavor of a cotton ball. Yeah, it tasted like nothing -Mac and cheese, as if the smell of the curdled cheese sauce wasn't enough, the little bite I had made me wanna throw up.. literally.. -Yam, outside if the greyish/green color of the yams, the taste was pretty good. -"Mixed corn"- I have no idea what that is but what I got was canned mexican style corn (with the red and green peppers) and not 1 pinch of seasoning or flavor.. The only thing that was appetizing was the biscuit. The lady told me my total was $17.29**blank stare**. I gave her a $20 and told her to keep the change. I feel so ripped off because that was one of the most disgusting meals I've had in years.. You don't too often experience nasty restaurant food.

I love Mrs. Biscuits. It's good food for a reasonable price. My colleagues and I would meet there to work over lunch or breakfast and they would take care of us. The service can be slow sometimes, but it's a nice friendly atmosphere.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Nice, casual atmosphere inside with well-maintained patio area outside. The grilled biscuits and pancakes are quite tasty. Mostly friendly wait-staff. 2013 Update: They have added a second side to the place which was needed to accommodate the large breakfast crowds. The food is still good but the wait staff could be a touch more attentive when customers enter and are awaiting seating. Me and my gf have had to just seat ourselves twice because whomever is responsible for seating folks is just MIA.

The service got to be terrible here. Management didn't help either. I came 3 or 4 times, hoping it was a fluke, but it wasn't. Good food, terrible service. Such a shame for what could be a great restaurant.

My mom and I came here on a Sunday after church and we had really good food, it did take a while for us to be seated, but Sunday after church, so what would you expect. Joy, our server, I felt she was overworked and had to many tables and she needed a little help, but anytime we needed her she was right there. I had the salmon croquettes and my mom had the fried fish, we both got the grilled biscuits. Everything was delicious. My mom has come here on a Tuesday afternoon and had no wait and no problem, so I guess it all depends on the day and the time you go. I would definitely come back, probably on a Tuesday, lol!!!!

During my lovely vacation, I made my rounds to all of the places i've been wanting to try but just didn't have the time. A friend brought me here for breakfast and we were not disappointed. I ordered a breakfast skillet and they had a half order of pancakes. My skillet was ok, but the shining star were the biscuits! They offer them grilled, I didn't exactly know what that was but I'm not afraid to try something new. I had one grilled and the other plain, the grilled biscuit was sliced in half and left on the grill or it had a nice crust on it. Both biscuits were SO DELICIOUS! The service was fast, our waitress was friendly and the food was hot, what more could you ask for.

If it was rated just based on the food? It would deserve at least 4 stars but the customer service here is BAD. I have gone here twice and twice I have had the same waitress who twice either messed up my order or someone at my table's order. But I will start from the beginning. You first walk in and they have no greeter (not that I care for that) but once youre seated you have to wait 10 minutes for water and then another 15 minutes once you tell your waitress what you want to drink. I can watch an entire half of Harry Potter before my food comes and then it's a 50% chance that someone at your table had their order completely messed up. But I am not one to judge, people tend to forget, especially during busy hours, and thus mess up things. But overall the food, once it arrives, is AWESOME.

So I have been to this restaurant a total of 2 times now. The first time I went it was on a Sunday afternoon for breakfast. The second was on a Saturday afternoon for dinner. Both meals were really good and the service was decent. The restaurant is a small so they cram a lot of tables in the space that they have. Its get really load. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the last time I went they had an imaginary cut off for breakfast that only applied to my table. People after us were able to get breakfast after they told us that breakfast was no longer being served. I chalk that up to miscommunication amongst staff. Overall I love the food and will more than likely go back.

Whenever I have family from out of town come down we eat breakfast here! I am a huge fan of salmon croquettes, they taste just like my mothers. The interior is very elegant and has a homey feeling. However, when the restaurant is slow so is the service. Very odd but thats what Ive experienced multiple times.

Great food for the first few months but then the Service started to get shity! The first time the service was bad my partner and I assumed it was a busy Sunday afternoon. However, today took the cake...we waited for 10 minutes for a server to come greet us and ask for our order, but NO they were hanging out on the back wall laughing and talking. No one came so we walked out without ordering, I'll never go back! Additionally, I called the manger and left a message with the owner and as of today no one has reached out to me regarding the crappy service!

Ms. Biscuit knows what's up! I ordered the Denver omelet with cheesy grits and a biscuit with grape jelly. My friend ordered the full order of french toast which came with eggs and a side of meat. The portions were huge and everything was delicious but the french toast, biscuits, and ham are really worth noting. We had seriously just gotten our coffee when the food arrived. Wow! So fast! The service was excellent: the server checked on us several times and there were separate coffee and water servers circulating the dining room. All the servers wear ear buds and radios to stay on top of the customers needs. I will definitely be back!

Just like many of the other comments, food was delicious but the service needs work. I've been here several times before I decided to review and determine if the service is consistently slow, and it was. Our last visit was on a Sunday morning around 1130am. The place was packed. Myself and my husband walked in to an empty host desk and waited around for a minute. We were given the last table in the place fortunately. But unfortunately our food wait was 20 minutes. We didn't order anything extravagant; I ordered the Denver omelet and my husband ordered scrambled eggs & sausage. While we waited no one came to give us an update on our food status. When it did arrive however, it was scrumptious. I won't say it was worth the wait because 20 minutes is way to long for eggs, but the food was hearty and delicious.

I ordered pancakes, turkey sausage, scrambled eggs (medium) and the grilled biscuits. I wasn't that hungry, but I wanted to try a little of everything since it was my first time. The wait wasn't bad. Our waitress was friendly, but she wasn't on top of things. I drank single every drop of my tea and had to ask for more water and jelly for my biscuits twice. The pancakes were amazing, but my eggs were over cooked. My sausage was old, as 1/3 of it had a hard powdery texture on the inside; and surprisingly, the biscuits were stale and rock hard around the edges. No amount of butter and grilling could mask. I'd go back for the pancakes only if I'm in the neighborhood. Otherwise, I'll stick with the Beverly Cafe. They have amazing breakfasts, coffee and pastries.

Out of all the food I had in Chi- town, this was my favorite! When we walked in, we were told that breakfast was no longet being served, my friend was bummed, she really wanted me to try the breakfast. So we ordered dinner, I had short beef ribs... super tender! Mac and cheese... the best I have ever had and that is saying alot, Im from the south, we know about mac and cheese! Greens were delush and it was topped off by a grilled bisciut! They did that! Ok before the food comes iut, the people who came in after us ordered breakfast. The hostess saw us gawking and she hurried to the table to apologize, which she did several times before we left. Now that I think about it, we should have tried ti get more biscuits.... lol! The food was soooooo good and the hostess apologized numerous of times so I gotta give credit when it is due! I loved it and look forward to going back to try breakfast.

The food here is very good and I've enjoyed breakfast as well as dinner, but the SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! I recently went for breakfast for the first time but I waited soo long (approx. 1 hour) till by the time the food came, I had lost my appetite. I watched several customers come in and leave before I was even served! Still sitting there with cold coffee. The waitress seemed to become annoyed because I just wanted to know that was taking so long and then she seemed to ignore me. I asked to see the manager and the manager took another 30 mins to come which by this time, I had finished eating but still had no bill. I was soooo frustrated and it is unfortunate because the food is good; but if they don't get better service they are certainly going to lose customers. This is definitely a management problem!! Please get it together Ms. Biscuit.

Overall I was pretty pleased with Ms. Biscuit. We went for breakfast and had the salmon cakes and the pancakes. The salmon was a bit dry, but the pancakes were spot on. You really can't mess up eggs and hash browns as those were good too. They have a nice clean decor. It is a bit noisy from the crowd, but not unbearable. The service was outstanding! The waitress introduced herself, kept the glasses full, had suggestions, and checked back immediately after our food was served to make sure everything was OK - all signs of good service. I will definitely be back for breakfast and to try their dinner menu. Also, you can get your car clean at Dylan's at a 10% discount while you dine. Just ask the wait staff.

I just left Ms Biscuit and I would recommend and go back again. Like most breakfast places it is small, crowded and long wait lines. My wait was about 15 minutes and I ate at the bar, great view of what is going on in the kitchen! I ordered the grilled biscuits, which you have to order they are wonderful! I also ordered the #2 Short Stack French Toast, bacon & eggs. I love when a breakfast place sells cranberry juice and that is a huge plus for Ms. Biscuits. My food came out in a timely manner and I was well pleased with everything, seasoned just right. I barely put any syrup on french toast. Nice decor, nice paintings on the wall, plenty of street parking. Jackie was very nice! They are now open for dinner, I will have to go back and check out what's for dinner. If it is like breakfast I know it will be good.

i was a skeptical about dining here at first but nevertheless i gave it a try, my first impression was i thought the waitress was rude but reality was she lacked proper training when dealing with customers. I ordered breakfast and it was outstanding! My lady ordered the beef brisket yams and green beans/w broccoli soup she- she was impressed upon trying her beef i was also impressed! I think the place is cool, my only hang up is the waitress that waited on me needs to listen more so that talk, it can come across as being rude sometimes but i knew she meant no harm,.-i will definitely be back soon.

Ms "BISCUIT!" With a name like that, I went in thinking I was going to have an amazing biscuit; it wasn't the case. I ordered the short order of french toast. I had scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage patties, a side of hash browns and I ordered 2 biscuits to share with the hubby. The french toast had no taste. The hash browns had no taste. I ordered one grilled biscuit and one regular biscuit, both tasteless. Even the orange juiced sucked! Maybe I went in there with my expectations a little too high. I figured that I would have a delicious biscuit, if anything. They have a "juice bar,' yet the regular orange juice had a watered down taste to it. My hubby had a lemonade, it tasted really artificial. The server said it was homemade. I guess mixing it in house counts as homemade, lol. The food overall was tasteless and mediocre. One thing that threw me off when ordering our food was, that the server asked, "how do you want the sausage cooked?" Umm, I just thought that pork was always well done :/ guess not. The reason for only giving it one star was that, the server was rude. They wear headsets and as she asked, "any coffees? anything to drink?" As I was about to reply, she turned around and started asking the man at the other table a question. She then finished taking our drink order, continued to take our food order and kept interrupting us as we ordered, to answer the people in the headset :/ She never once said, thank you, please, would you like anything else? NOTHING! Just plain rude. I would definitely not recommend this place and will not be going back. Seriously, Cracker and Barrel has better biscuits, hands down.

It's OK. I just moved back to the neighborhood. It's OK because it's clean and a newer place. The food is short-order cooked, but that's OK, too. The service is slightly below average. Everyone means well, they just don't have an efficient system or a good training program. It's the best restaurant in a mile radius. If you've got to eat, you've got to eat.

I'm a fan mainly because of their salmon croquettes. Just like homemade. You must order the salmon croquettes, grits, the biscuits (of course!) a coffee, and I also order bacon on the side. You will not be disappointed. It can be crowded in here. Park your car close to the restaurant, you will be stuffed when you leave and ya won't wanna walk far. !!!

I just left Ms. Biscuit and have mixed reviews about this place. We ordered the Denver Omelette and the french toast. We like to share and so while ordering we asked the waitress to bring an extra plate. Mind you, it is 10am on a Wednesday morning with the restaurant half-full. We were told that it would be a $1 surcharge, since they are running short on plates. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Also, the coffee was lukewarm and we ordered a full-stack and received a short-stack. Then when it was time to pay, we noticed a $2 misc charge on the bill, which was an overcharge for the full stack of french toast. The waitress could not re ring the bill and just laid $2 out of her pocket on the table, and said that that should cover it. It's too bad that this is what's left of south-side breakfast spots. The food is good, but could just use new management.

The thumbnail: -- 1 busboy -- No silverware -- party of 2 seated at a table that inexplicably only had one chair -- Plates too big; tables too small -- Overcooked omelet, under-hot coffee -- Servers with headsets, yelling at each other Even the biscuits (which of course you have to try if you are eating at an establishment called "Ms. Biscuit") tasted like something warmed up from the freezer. You walk in thinking you're getting cooking like Big Mama used to make and then you realize that this place is run by, like, the one kid who wasn't paying attention when Big Mama was teaching them how to cook... Ms. Biscuit is located a block away from where my dad grew up. We were both very excited to try it and glad to see that there was an establishment like this in "the hood." Unfortunately, we were both overwhelmingly underwhelmed. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd probably feel compelled to eat there again. But I don't, so...

Food 5/5 - Good! Solid! HUGE! Tasty Breakfast! Vegetable Omelet - super! Service 5/5 - Staff very friendly and helpful! A lot of space! Price 4/5 - less than $20 for two of us. Location 2/5 - Day time visits only! It is crappy and dangerous neighborhood. Highly recommended! Will be back!

I was taken here for brunch on a visit before I moved to the city, and after eating here I knew I would love Chicago. I come often as I live not too far away, and I've found ways to make my experience fabulous every time. 1. Try to go on a weekday. If you must come on a weekend, go as early as possible. Please remember that you will have to wait if you go on Sunday during the after-church rush. 2. Please don't go with more than 4 people, you will definitely have to wait since this place is pretty small. 3. If you get the biscuits, get them GRILLED! They split them in half, butter them and griddle them to a golden brown-perfection! I am straight country so I use syrup on my biscuits, which makes them almost like a griddle cake. Yum! 4. They don't season their eggs or potatoes, so the salt/pepper shakers will be your friends here. 5. Come hungry, you will not finish your meal as the portions are huge! The staff here tries to run this place like a well-oiled machine, with the headsets and super-quick service. I wish that some of the servers could be a little more personable but it seems they are focused on getting people in and out. But overall I'm impressed that they are able to provide quick service with great, homestyle food in an area surrounded by fast food.

My girl and I decided to set a brunch date. We decided we would plan on a Saturday brunch at Ms Biscuit. I've heard lots of great things about this place. We were seated right away and it seems like we got there at a great time because there was a line out the door. The food is good and the prices are even better. Great staff and great location.

I visit here when my mother have appointments at the university's hospital. Though I like their food ( I have only had breakfast here) their service is the worst that I have experienced. Today my mom and I dined in and waited forever to order though we were seated. Food came out pretty fast. However server never came once to check on our table. Upon finish eating, the ckeck never came and my mom suggested that we leave. Even when my mom caught the attention of the waitress the check still was not brought to the table. My mom had to walk up to the register and the waitress stated that she would take care of charging of the credit card though a check was not provided. We waited and waited and noticed our waitresses taking other table orders. I then walked up to the register and advised the sorry waitress that we had to leave. She advised me that they were short staffed (2 servers for the entire restaurant) and that she cannot touch the cash register as she continued to take food out to a different table. The one person allowed to touch the register advised the server that she was waiting on the green copy which was never provided to her in order to cash out the order. The waitress apologized for the wait. I wrote "horrible service" across the top of my receipt. This was not the first time that I experienced sub par service here. However today was ridiculous. It is a real shame. The management should hire experienced servers to train their inexperienced staff how to attend to customers no matter the circumstances. From the other reviews it looks like the owner is only concerned with making money only while sacrificing customer service.

Really good food, grilled biscuit is the bomb diggitty but I had one unpleasant situation while dining. The server dropped my food by the kitchen, another server relayed the message and out comes my server with another plate FAST. Umm..did you just pick the food up and put it back on the plate? Too fast for them to fix a RIB EYE STEAK don't ya think? After that my stomach was turned off and I haven't been back since..

It's a nice restaurant but to me the food was okay. It was very crowded but I didn't experience a wait which was nice. Although when I sat down I felt a little uncomfortable by the lack of personal space. Our waitress was good even with the crowd. Not somewhere I'll be rushing back to.

UM, YUM........... Another great breakfast spot in the hood. Actually discovered this place last year, been meaning to get on here and yelp. This place is so charming. And you cant go to Ms Biscuit w/o trying the biscuits and man are they good. The biscuits are ALWAYS hot. Their pancakes are good too. I like the Parker House sausage w/hashbrowns and cheese eggs. Its affordable, new and clean. Everything outsiders expect it not to be, which makes me proud.

I'm sorry Ms Biscuit, I have to take a star away. I was excited to take my husband on my next visit. There was a line to be seated & about a 15-20 min. wait. We didn't have a problem waiting, but Ms Biscuit has no waiting area, just standing room only in the narrow entrance. A short wall separates the seated area on the left. While waiting, I noticed many things that I would have changed if I was the owner. One in particular was the guest waiting for their pick up orders. Although I felt uncomfortable waiting to dine in....it probably was more of a discomfort waiting for your pick up order. Either you have to stand closely behind the bar stool of someone seated at the counter or you rear end the table of a seated patron. There was one table available .......WHY was this being used for ,what appeared to be an job interview. Not a good idea, perhaps this should have been done after hours or during non-peak hours. This time I tried the biscuits with hash browns and turkey links. The biscuits were delicious but taste more like dinner rolls. The waitress was polite, but the service wasn't up to par. I ordered turkey links & received pork. For someone who doesn't eat pork...this was a BIG issue for me to bite into the link. The replacement order took so long, I had finished my hash browns & biscuit by the time I was served. My husband ordered the cheese & bacon omelet. The waitress was not familiar with the cheese choices, so there was a delay in fulfilling our order. The omelet was ok, nothing to brag about. Ms. Biscuit, I will give you another try in gaining your star back.

This is a review of their breakfast menu. This was my family's first visit and everyone enjoyed their meal. The servers are friendly, the location is convenient, the prices are very reasonable ($7-8/plate), and we got a table without a wait. We all ordered tradition breakfast food (eggs, bacon, pancakes), so I can't comment on the other items. But the food was good... not amazing, but perfectly good, and the biscuits were fantastic. I'm not normally a biscuit person, but if that's your thing, I highly recommend this place. Also, the portions are HUGE. The pancakes are the size of a dinner plate. A side of hashbrowns was enough to be a whole meal. So, be careful ordering additional items. You will almost certainly be taking food home. This could definitely be a regular, affordable place to get together for brunch with a couple friends. I plan to go back.

First time there, and I will come back. Great food, I was with two picky people who like their eggs a particular way and they were able to get it right. You want veggies on an omelet they certainly make sure you get your veggies. Completely satisfied with the portions and coffee was good. The grilled biscuits were on point. The service was OK, The ear pieces look cool but are annoying, it makes it appear the server is ignoring you because they are listening to the ear piece and not you. The place is not big enough for that system.

The food here is typically pretty good. Tasty salmon croquettes, fried catfish and ample sized omelets and skillets. HOWEVER that won't matter one single bit because what you'll actually remember is Ms. Biscuit's CONSISTENT AND EVER WORSENING poor service! Carefully read other recent reviews for yourself and you'll see clear theme. I've been here myself 3 times but never again. I went with a group of four this past Sunday afternoon because it was the most convenient spot for all parties. (Note:Two other friends who were in the area were also invited but refused to join once they found out where we were eating) We arrived and were sat immediately. No wait. They were busy but not at capacity. After waiting 12 mins for a waitress to finally take our order and then another 50 without food we made the very hard decision to walk out hungry and find someplace else to eat. Only then did the waitress stop us at the door so that her and the manager could attempt a pretty clumsy and particularly insulting explanation for all we had been through. ...Wait for it. "One of you ordered the fried chicken omelet and we had to make that fresh and so it's taking a while". 50 minutes for fried chicken?? Really! This poor excuse was coming from a MANAGER, believe it or not! We watched several patrons come in after us and were now eating. (Sigh) A simple apology would have been much better! This whole scene would have been funny if it were a sketch comedy routine but unfortunately it was not and we were starving :-( Magically the manager and the waitress worked with the kitchen staff to get our orders out as we stood waiting in the doorway for an additional 7 mins with car keys in hand wishing we had gone almost ANY PLACE other than Ms. Biscuit. Once we returned to our seats still somewhat shocked by it all, the food was actually pretty good, as I stated. To be fair, they did comp us a portion of our bill but too little too late. SO if you are as addicted to breakfast as I am but want to avoid this inevitable foolishness, here is my honest advice to you! If you are STILL curious after reading all of this I suggest you try this place only ONCE, enjoy what you can and never, NEVER return. Or maybe just go alone when you're on the south side and really need a jelly biscuit but can't make it anywhere else in time for breakfast. However you should NOT take family who value their time or friends you plan to keep.

Great food in a bad neighborhood. Well worth the visit, fantastic food maybe a little high priced, but so worth it. Just park close!

Really good breakfast, I had the Chopped Steak and Eggs, and with it they give Hash-browns and Biscuits. They asked me if I wanted onions on the steak and onions and green pepper in my hash browns, I said 'Yes' of course. The hash-browns and steak and eggs were really good, The biscuits were OK (sort of funny since the place is named after Biscuit). My wife had the French Toast which I tried and it was very good also. Anyway an excellent place for a good sized breakfast at a good price.

Good food! I got the Denver omelet with added tomatoes. Got there just in time, big rush came right after us. Def come early and because the places is small but nice and clean. Staff was good but you can tell they are about business.

I visited Ms. Biscuit for the first time this weekend. Strangely enough, this is not even a mile away from my house. Whenever I passed by, it never looked open. Well, it was my lucky day when I stopped into the place. The service waiters/waitresses was very pleasant. However, the one I had was not very familiar with the menu. Therefore, there were instances where we needed another waiter to clear up any of our concerns on the food. The atmosphere is lively and the place is really clean. We met the owner of the establishment and it was great to know he takes pride in his establishment. As for my food, I had the vegetarian omelet and grits with biscuits. The omelet was not good at all. That is not one of their specialties. The ingredients used were not fresh and the omelet looked overcooked. On the other hand, they put their foot into making the biscuits and grits. My friends had pancakes and eggs. I tasted the pancakes and they really know how to make a great pancake. In addition, the biscuits were freshly made right out of the oven. YUMMY. Thankfully, the name really means something because the biscuits are really that good. Now the best thing about this place is the price. For three people, our tab was only $20. I can't go anywhere for that price for breakfast. I will continue to support their business and order biscuits with grits each time. Just note to self, order what you know they are good at making not what they dibble and dabble in...

The pancakes are DELICIOUS! I was pleasantly surprised by how fluffy yet buttery they were. They must add vanilla extract because there is a sweet cream vanilla taste that I thought added the right amount of flavor. The bacon was a bit greasy. It's not the thick bacon I prefer. I did order carry out so that may have something to do with the wimpy bacon. The biscuits are GOOD, just what I needed on a Sunday morning. Good job Ms. Biscuit! I'll be back, often!

Great neighborhood breakfast place. Using a daily groupon, we went on a Thursday morning. The restaurant had a loft-like feel and was half full. I ordered french toast, cheddar scrambled eggs, and ham. The french toast was excellent and the other items were good. Ms. Biscuit serves good food and huge portions in a nice atmosphere. They serves somewhat standard breakfast staples, with a few exceptions (ex. chopped steak & eggs, hashbrowns w/peppers & onions). We tried the biscuits and they were just OK. Service was strange (waitress asked to see my ID for groupon & credit card?), but the food was very good. Will be back very soon.

We order breakfast from here weekly, I prefer Ms. Biscuit over the Pancake house in Hyde Park which is too expensive and the food is not that great. I order and I pick up in 10 minutes. I can feed 3 to 4 people for under $30.

My family and I had breakfast on Saturday September 11th at Ms Biscuit restaurant and EVERYTHING was delicious!!! The hostess and our waitress Brittany were delightful. This is a great place to eat breakfast in the city.

Don't be surprised that it's always crowded. Breakfast is the cheapest meal of the day and the Black community never seems to want a fine dining experience in their own neighborhood, making Ms. Biscuit a success. The food is good. The food is tasty. The food is satisfying. But the food doesn't make the whole restaurant experience; the size and services are lacking. They don't take names or call numbers and patrons have to decipher amongst themselves who is next.. The seating arrangement is narrow. I had to hold a plate in my lap just to make room for my biscuits. My croquette's were cold when first brought out. My waitress quickly and politely took it back. The procedures for payment are unclear (at the table). These are little observations that did not take away from the overall pleasant atmosphere and delicious meal.

Dine in date: 12/6/09 After church, to celebratie my mother's bday.......me, my sis and two nIEces dined at Ms. Biscuits. Overall, I probably won't be back as I was very disappointed with pretty much qthing I ordered esp. the grits which weren't cooked long enough and the biscuits were nothing to brag about. My oldest nIEce loved her pancakes though. My sis and mom ordered salmon croQ, and both were disappointed. Our waitress was patient.

nothing impressive about this place- at all!. My hasbrowns had a "refrigerator" taste to it (as if they had been in the fridge for a couple days, with no covering) I ate one fork full and was done with them. Our waitress felt it was okay to chew and pop her gum while waiting for us to order. The biscuits were just okay. Ms. Biscuit- get your ish together!

I have been to this restaurant 5 times, and today will be the last. Food and service up until today was okay. This morning there was only one patron in restaurant when my party of two arrived. I was told that I needed to return to my vehicle with my travel cup of coffee as they don't allow people to bring in their travel mugs or bottled water. They didn't ask if I would be ordering coffee or what was in my travel mug. Since I have always brought the mug with me I was surprised and humiliated. Nothing like bad service. Back to Daley's where service is fair and money is green.

I don't see what the big discussion is about. A lot of my friend's love Ms Biscuit. To me its average. I can cook most of this stuff myself and it tastes just the same. I'm so not knocking the restaurant. I am big on customer service and appearance. I love that the owner cooks and prepares food alongside his workers. I like the atmosphere. I like that the customers are excited to be there. I love that the restaurant uses turkey products a posed to pork. I like that it is black owned.

I LOVEEEE this place! Where can I begin??? Service: Excellent Food: Excellent Price: Excellent I've read the other reviews and I don't know what happened when they visited but, I am a regular and for good cause. The staff is very friendly, I felt like we've known each other for years. They always wear a smile and service is quick. I've never had a problem with my order that couldn't immediately be resolved to my liking. You can't get much better as far as prices are concerned, compared to other breakfast eateries. The place is very clean, even the restrooms...what's not to like about the place? (Read my other reviews, I am picky and very serious about service) If you like a good meal, at good prices with friendly service...then you should try Ms. Biscuit. Oh yeah, and the biscuits are warm, soft and oh soooo good!

Went in on a Friday morning, our party of four was seated immediately. Wait person was good. Each one in the group ordered something different. My vote goes for the full-size pancakes, which were very light. The hash browns with onions and peppers were tasty. A person in our group had the salmon croquttes, which they did not like. Another had French toast which they devoured. And the last person had eggs/sausage with biscuits. They were not impressed with the biscuits but the other items disappeared. This requires a second visit.

Five of us went to Ms. Biscuit after hearing good things about it and we were impressed. I ordered the pancakes and they were great!! Now, I love Sweet Maples pancakes, but these were lighter and more fluffy. Someone else in our group ordered the veggie omelet, which came with potatoes. The omelet was very tasty, but the potatoes were a little bland. I prefer my potatoes to have some seasoning and be browned a little. They do put green peppers and onion, which helps, but some seasoning would make them better. Overall, we all enjoyed ourselves, therefore we will be returning!!

nice spacious place in a renovated old strip building. Has space outside for dinning as well. Went on a weekday early no wait at all, and had some great french toast, and eggs with oj. Decent staff, maybe a little bit of a wait but I wasn't in a hurry.

I've tried just about everything on the breakfast menu with no complaints! but my regular order is usually: A veggie omelette, w/ hash browns & grilled biscuits! I've seen the reviews that their biscuits aren't good I highly reccomend the GRILLED BISCUIT! no butter, no jelly req'd...melts in your mouth! Everything is always perfectly seasoned - you do not need to add onions /grn peppers to the hash browns - salt n pepper, ketchup is enuf...they are quick to offer it up like it's a free option which it isn't! u'll be charged for the 2 ingredients accordingly. I also love the flavorful Hazelnut coffee - if only there were free refills on flavored coffee;( food is plentiful however So this I can overlook - pancakes the size of the plates reminiscent of Miss Muffet's - I've received nothing but quick, friendly service whether dining in or getting carryout except on Sunday - go before the church rush!- still definitely A MUST TRY! NOTE:they will be extending their hours in the coming weeks to include a dinner menu!

I hate when there is a long line going outside of the restaurant that is average at best. We came from the suburbs after church one Sunday Slow service, a long wait for food, food was mediocre. The restaurant is very loud.
