Time for an review update -- Today I remembered why I stopped going here. Pulled in by a new startup, LevelUp, partnering with area restaurants to sign people up, we got pulled in for lunch. I ordered my usual (or what used to be when I was regular) - falafel pita sandwich with curly fries. The pita was stale, the sandwich falling apart, the curly fries were oozing out oil on your tongue as you took a bite. A few hours later, the lunch meal is still making me sick just thinking about how poorly prepared everything was. I have memories of a couple of scattered similar experiences in the past year and based on those aggregate, it's time to put Mezza stars where it truly now is.

Good spot for lunch if you work nearby. Quick service, but usually gets pretty busy around 12. I always get the shepherd salad with spicy chicken and it is very good. I probably eat here once a week and its consistently a good lunch spot.

This is one of the greatest lunch spots in the city... a hidden gem if you will. If you are looking for a Mediterranean place that has a lot of variety, come here. You can customize your wrap/salad with everything from avocado, to their delicious red pepper sauce. I usually stick to the Chicken Schwarma with lots of add ins. If you order something that you don't like, it's probably because you made it that way. Strangely, I also love the fact that they rock curly fries. Not exactly what I think of when I'm jonesin for Mediterranean, but also hard pass up.

If you want a quick lunch, this place is fine. If you want a healthy, tasty Mediterranean option, then meh. The hummus is tasteless and oily, and the the pita is fluffy in a wonder bread processed way. I had a craving, but I wish I had saved my $1.75 on a side of hummus.

Reasonably priced Mediterranean food off of Michigan Ave. near the pedway. I had the falafel plate for about $8. Filling. I saw someone getting tossed-for-you salad that looked pretty good so I would go back for that. I also like the seating. The booths are nice for a more private conversation and there's sunlight coming from the walkway. Modern decor.

Let me start out by saying that I have been going to Mezza for lunch for the past 2 years on a consistent basis. In that time, they have changed the menu twice, switched the ordering process, removed chips as being included in a 9 dollar salad, and switched loyalty programs. Every time I go here I leave unsatisfied and feeling as if I just got ripped off. Not the food prices, but everything else that this business tries to do to make more money. Getting rid of the bag of 5 chips and charging extra for them? Not allowing me to use my reward card that was going to give me a free salad because the system was broken? This place clearly has had major growing pains. They have taken the good team members and moved them on to other locations. It is a shame. The food is the only reason I gave it a second star.

I would agree with previous posts on the organization.. somebody really wasn't paying too much attention to that when they planned the place... the menu is on the side wall, right near the cashier.. so you can't really wait in line and look at what you're going to order. Also, if you're like me, you have to keep turning to the board to make sure you customize the order - instead of talking to the cashier (which I think is kind of rude of me). If you're getting it to go, then you kind of mill about in the middle of the order area until they call your number. If you get it to eat in, they'll bring it to your seat, which is nice. But anyway - the food. The food was good! I've had the chicken kabob pita and the hummus and both were good. My co-worker and I have agreed that they really need to stick to what they're good at (tuna salad? really?) which is the middle east/Mediterranean food. They had a chicken and rice dish (I don't remember what it was called, but it was basically a can of chicken soup over rice. It even had the "metal" taste of a can. I really want to try the schwarma - if you stick to the kabobs - you're good. One thing that kind of was weird to me (maybe its just me, which is quite possible) was the addition of tomato and lettuce on the kabob pitas. Sounds odd to me - I just order them without, and they are still delish.

This is my fave place to eat during the work week! The best thing I've had is one of the rice bowls - Moroccan Veggie Stew - but it's so hearty it threatens to put me in to a food coma. My other standbys are the Roasted Veggie Wrap (you can't beat fire roasted peppers) and the Falafel Pita. Mmmmm.

As far as Loop lunch options go, this is one of my favorites. Granted, I'm no expert on Mediterranean food so I can't say how "authentic" it is or whatever, but it's tasty. You get a good value for your money here, too. The chicken shawarma sandwich is loaded with meat and yum toppings, and their falafel sandwich isn't half bad, either. I highly recommend the Shepherd's Salad - it's loaded with goodies like avocado, dates and goat cheese. Definitely worth a stop.

I'll have to go with my sis, Katie T. on this one. In fact, I did. She treated to falafels and cokes, and their housemade chips are excellent. It's typical downtown lunch prices, about 8 bucks a person all told, and I'll go back for sure. The modern decor is very neat, but the booths are not cushioned in any way, so be aware of that (though you'd figure it out as soon as you sit down...).

I've had better. Much better. I got the beef and lamb pita. The meat was dry and tough. The homemade chips that came with the pita were a nice effort but they were greasy and had a stale texture. I found it to be a bit pricey as well - I payed $9.49 for the pita and a soda. On the other hand the staff was quick and friendly.

If you work anywhere in relation to the Michigan Ave pedway and haven't been to Mezza yet... your eating way to much Burrito Beach! Super Quick for dine in or to take back to your desk! There are quite a few options so take a mintue to check out the menu on line avoiding the stress of feeling rushed once your in line.I redomend the Falafal pita with an upgraded side of cuscous, a huge portion for $7. Healthy, filling, and on the lower price point range of Loop Lunches. sold.

They have the best red pepper hummus I've ever had. The pita is usually warm. If you order just a side of it, it's only a little over a dollar. The falafel pita was very heavy. Will not get that again. My favorite there is the feta pasta. A small order is a little over $3 and it's very filling.

Go here for lunch on Monday, or whenever your next day of work is - you will not regret it. Mezza makes delicious, out of the ordinary Mediterranean sandwiches, salads and entrees for a fraction of what you would pay for (in my opinion) lesser-quality food in Greektown. The Sheppard's Salad is my hands-down favorite - greens, cabbage, goat cheese, almonds, avocado, tomatoes and figs tossed in some of their uniquely sweet-and-sour homemade dressing. Everything is the very definition of fresh - crunchy cabbage, juicy tomatoes, tangy goat cheese and perfectly soft avocados. A friend is so addicted to their spicy chicken pitas that it's not unusual for her to get Mezza takeout 3 times a week, and when you can get in and out in less than 20 minutes having spent less than $8 for a healthy, scrumptious lunch, who can blame her?

  • Sarah P.

I'm obsessed with Mezza. I eat here far too many days in a week. The salads are just so delicious. The custom salad is the way to go. I've perfected my customized salad and crave it pretty much daily. There is also a great deal for a soup and salad combo that is under $8. It comes with a pita too! I highly recommend the chicken chili. Note: they have fountain Diet Coke a large cups. This is key to the success of any lunch location during the work week!

This place is awful. It just opened up in my building a month or two ago, and both times I've been have been terrible. I ordered a kabob dish with brown rice and back came a single sickly-looking skewer on top of rice that didn't seem any different than white rice except that it was a palish brown color--no different texture or anything. The side dish I got was swimming in liquid and just tasted terrible. I don't know why anyone would want to pay 7 or 8 bucks (at minimum) to eat here.

I have come here a few times now for lunch. Amazing!! the beef and lamb shwarma is to die for as well as the falafel. Everything is so fresh, never nook-warm and the staff is very friendly. I have opted to get a side salad (ceasar) or hummus instead of the chips. Although I have heard great things about their homemade pita chips. Price wise I think it is fine for all that you get. Stop in for lunch and you will not be sorry.

  • Katie T.

Sealed the deal with a tuna wrap that came with house chips mmmmm. Kept coming back and have yet to be disappointed. Cesar salad the other day was great; they put pita chips on it instead of croutons. Dig it! Their hummus is my favorite right now. Felafel was and is great! Might finally have a go to for lunch after 8 months of searching...

Have only tried a few dishes, but all were good - ingredients tasty and typically fresh and spicy. I usually get the Falafel Pita 0 ingredients are good but preparers think they work at Subway and slap/throw on the food (hummus etc) so more often than not, you end up with a gooey mess, Their lentil soup is outstanding (sometimes overly turmeric-spiced though) and I like their mediterranean soup bowl. Worth a visit.

This place would get 4-5 stars as I've been eating here for years and the food is great, however in the past year it's all gone down hill. They changed their menu and removed all the variety, which is what made it so great. There were many vegetarian options as well, not the case anymore. I usually get the falafel or the spicy chicken wrap, or the chopped salad/lentil soup combo. The lentil soup is good but a little overly salty, and make sure you get harissa mayo on pretty much anything you get, it'll only make it better I promise :) Another disappointing thing is that in the past year they've jacked the prices up from an average meal costing around $7.25 to about $9+ which I consider a pretty extreme price hike. They've also started nickel and diming their customers, but my biggest complaint is that the menu is super vague now... Often times I find myself wondering and subsequently arguing with the staff as to why they're upcharging me. I've even asked where it's written on the menu etc. and they can't point it out to me. And from one staff member to the next, the perception of what is and isn't an upcharge is different. I wish I could rate this higher, being a regular 2-3 times a week customer of this location since it opened on Day 1, but I can't due to the poor customer care in the recent year. What's funny is the menu was reduced to make it less confusing, according to management, yet it's now more confusing! That said, the food is still top notch ... try the Chicken Chili it's very good!

I cannot help but frequent this place as often as my pocket book allows me to for lunch. The looooong line at Mezza's in the Illinois Center full of a ton of other places to eat should be all the proof you need that it's at the top of a lotta people's lists. I heart the Sheppard's and Mezza Salads, Chicken Shwarma Pitas, and Beef Kabobs that come with brown or white rice and a choice of a number of different sides. The cucumber and tomato salad is my fav side though the tabbouleh is pretty delish as well. You like more of this, less of that, Mezza's happily obliges with the make-your-own salad option! All veggies are fresh and the greens options are pretty big. Never once have the ingredients tasted like it's been sitting around in the fridge for days or even hours! Portion sizes for everything are awesome. Even the side of piita breads with hummus can fill you up! Service is friendly and quick. In/out in a jiffy. Want to actually relax and eat here? Sure can here with a mix of booth and cafeteria table-type seating. Not a bad sized eating area, although, probably not a place you wanna hang with more than a handful of people. Lunch (rush) hour from noonish is pretty packed as many places in the Illinois Center. Just be patient... and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Mezza will take care of ya and you too will want to go back again and again... and again...

This is a solid weekday lunch option! The line was long but it went quick. I had a falafel pita, it was very large and messy! The falafel tasted good and the flavors worked well together. Nothing amazing though. The chips that come with it are tasty. I noticed everyone around me was eating salads, so I'll have to try those next!

Dilemma: you run a popular lunch spot with a line issue. In order to increase business, you shorten the menu options and adjust your assembly line of employees to increase efficiency. More customers through the line, more money right? The downfall, is when you sacrifice common sense for efficiency and the quality of the product goes down. Yes the lines are shorter at Mezza now...but for me that is because I go to Mezza less! Food-wise, delicious and tasty. I love the lentil soup (so creamy), Shepard's Salad (sweet, tart, and nutty), and the spicy chicken wraps hit the spot (name is a misnomer, they're not spicy at all!). From this perspective, 5 stars top notch option for grabbing lunch in the Loop. Experience-wise, here is where the wheels have fallen off the bus for me and made my visits to Mezza drop from once a week to once a month: 1. Down-sizing the menu last year. Now, I actually don't have any issue with the smaller menu per se. I understand the financial reasoning for it and the remaining items are delicious. However a bizarre casualty of the list was the plate of sides. They still serve the sides like hummus and falafel, but you can no longer order a sampler plate of them. You have to order each side individually and it's pricey. Also, the sides are listed as $1.75-3.95 so it's unclear what things cost. I've switched over to visiting Oasis Cafe for a hummus & stuff sampler plate instead when the mood strikes me. Also, agreed with other reviewers that there are weird upcharges from time to time that are not listed anywhere on the menu or consistently applied. 2. Assembly line orders. Again, I understand the reasoning for having every person in a role behind the counter. However when someone isn't in place here, the system breaks down. The soup person stepped away? People look around confusedly trying to figure out how to get you the soup. You want a half salad with the soup? Well, our system of color coded tongs is great but we don't have a half salad designation. Unless I follow the bowl down the line and keep saying "Half! Half", there's a good chance I'm getting a full-size salad at the register. And sometimes the cashier wants me to pay for the whole salad even though the order was done wrong. 3. Salad quality. While everything is still tasty, they are putting together the salads at a much faster pace and some of the quality isn't there. Used to be that the person would thoroughly toss and make the salad so every piece was dressed. Now they just splash the salad, a couple quick tosses, and put in the container where pieces are either drenched or dry. You can't shake it yourself either because it's packed tightly in the container. The staff is super nice and I can tell they are just following the system. I don't fault them for the awkwardness or the weird menu policies. I like the food plenty but unfortunately its less hassle to go elsewhere.

This is a decent lunch choice in the Illinois Center pedway. The ingredients are usually fairly fresh although on one occasion I did have some "mystery-meat" instead of beef, if you know what I mean. It took me a few months to go back, but eventually I did and haven't had a problem since. The spicy chicken wrap is my favorite sandwich. The potato chips are excellent - just make sure they remember to give them to you as I've noticed lately that they don't automatically add them to your order. All in all, Mezza is a nice option in the pedway. It isn't as tasty or interesting as Roti, though, so if you're looking for even better fast-food Mediterranean food in the Loop, head to Roti.

We use Mezza for catering regularly. The food is awesome and the service is top notch! The food at our events is always the BEST and everyone raves about it! It is always fresh and made just the way we want it! We look for opportunities to order from Mezza. Try it and you will be hooked too!

Mezza. You are delicious but you are overpriced for a downtown lunch spot and the nutrition information page on your website has been "under construction" since you opened up years ago! Isn't that illegal? I want to know how dangerous your wraps and salads are since they taste so good. Fix it and I'll come back!

Mezza is a good alternative to the humdrum office lunch place. It's better than a regular cold cut sandwich, and has more flavor than the bland salads at other places. I usually get the chicken kebab with brown rice (awesome and a great portion size), or the chicken shwarma pita. This location moves really quickly and I found that I can get in and out of there in under 10 minutes, even at the peak lunch time!

This is one of the reasons I miss working in the Illinois Center. They keep teasing me saying they are opening a location in the Merchandise Mart but I won't believe it until I see it! Mezza uses quality ingredients. The vegetables and protein are so fresh and not scraps that some other places use. Definitely get their Mezzateranean Saland and some hummus to go. So good!

  • Nida F.

Let me start of by saying how much I love kebabs... and the thought of having them as often as i could with a mezza's just next door-- makes me even happier.. but I just don't get this place. I try to like it, but they just miss the mark every time I go there. So, sorry mezza's today was your last try. Your rushed service, messy counter and disappointing food won't suck me in again. I guess that means i'll just have to continue making the long trek to Roti when I need my kebab fix

I'm SOOOO glad someone finally opened a quick serve shop that does more than just sandwich/salad/soups... there literally must be 30 sandwich/salad/soup shops in a 1 block radius of here, and very few non-sandwich options (and really, I'm not even exaggerating on the count). My first impression of the place... it's very nicely decorated inside. People eating in were served their food on white glass plates, instead of paper like all the other places in the area do... environmentally friendly, and a nice touch! The menu has quite a wide variety of things, something for everyone perhaps. The prices were pretty decent. I got the Chicken Shawarma Pita ... It comes with homemade [potato] chips. About $7 after tax. You can substitute any salad/side item for $1. I was going to get the jerusalum salad as a side, but the guy at the register convinced me the chips that come with it are good (and they were). The chicken shawarma was enjoyable.... it's marinated chicken, with tahini, lettuce, tomato... Overall it was a good choice, it had nice flavor. I really like their pitas, I don't know why... :] They have a breakfast menu that includes a wide variety of plates (egg scrambles), sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, etc.. Pretty well priced, starting at $2, most around $4. I went back for breakfast... Ordered the shepard's scramble as a sandwich (it's available as a plate or sandwich on a pita). Eggs/potato/mushroom/peppers/cheese I believe it was. it was OK, more like hangover food than healthy food... I almost missed it in entirely, but behind the register they have a full coffee menu. (Some things are crossed off already, or is that "for now"). I stuck with what I order just about everywhere--a chai latte. Their chai is the standard Oregon Chai that's available in every other coffee shop. Good, but nothing unusual. Some Trixie behind me ordered a cafe au lait...the register girl didn't really know what it was at all, but the manager knew and was explaining, then just made it.. I waited a week after opening, and things were quite well ran when I've been there. The line went quick, there weren''t more than 1 or 2 waiting in front of me, and the wait time was decent. Anyone who reviewed the place opening week saying their organization was bad needs a reality check. For what it's worth, they're at least twice as organized as the Alonti that was previously in this space. They seem to mostly put the orders out in the order they were received. I had the Kefta Kabob pita on my last visit... the flavor of the meat was good, but it lacked the tahini sauce the menu advertises. it was just meat and lettuce. and it was supposed to have tomato too, but there was a tiny fragment of a tomato from the skewer on there. I wish I was dining in, I would've taken it back... :(

    (4)
  • Anne R.

Tried it once - never again. The wrap itself was OK - falafel wasn't great but wasn't bad but the veggies were a bit stingy - whatever. But the tahini is disgusting. Why does the tahini have the consistency of mayonnaise and a the flavor of... not tahini. The flavor isn't like mayo but it's not like tahini either. I asked a co-worker and he experienced the same tahini. It was seriously gross. I'd rather walk to Oasis Cafe on Wabash, personally.

YAY! Something new and exciting in Illinois Center! As much as i mourned Alonti when it left this space, I am very happy to have Mezza in it's place! It's nice to have a unique lunch option available! The interior is very cool and modern - I especially LOVE the booths set back into little alcoves! I don't often eat-in when I go to lunch, but will keep it in mind for the future! For my first try at Mezza, I decided to stick with something basic, so I ordered the falafel sandwich. It was not bad! I wish the falafels had been a tad spicier, but they were still decently moist inside, and crispy on the outside. The hummus on the sandwich was pretty good too, but I have yet to try it on it's own. The homemade chips on the side are OK too. In addition to a variety of pita sandwiches and wraps, Mezza also offers rice bowls, which sound very tasty, as well as traditional kabob plates. While I was waiting in line, I checked out everyone else's food, and the flatbreads look really good as well! Of course they also offer a bunch of salads, along with traditional Mediterranean sides, like hummus and tabouleh. They also have a few breakfast items in the morning, and they stick with the basics - eggs, oatmeal, bagels and pastries. I haven't tried the kefta sandwich yet, but just the IDEA that I can now have this for lunch is exciting!

The falafel pita I had wasn't bad, wasn't great. The chips were lacking. They do need to improve their line setup, confusion occurred between the salad eaters and the sandwich eaters. Not very efficient. Would probably go back for the kebabs since I work in the building.

Sheppard's Salad. 5 stars!! Ingredients- lettuce/cabbage, sliced almonds, goat cheese, corn, avocado, tomatoes, Best Dressing Ever Hands down my favorite Loop lunch item. Pair it with two perfectly cooked falafels and it doesn't get any better. This salad is the crack of the salad world!

I had never ventured in here while walking past because I saw it being built, and the outside looks much to fancy to drop $15-20 on a lunch meal. My co-workers dragged me in here yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. $7 for a pita sandwich & falafel? OK, i'm a fan. The kicker you ask? It was actually good...just a little tip, get the spicy chicken pita....

  • Dan R.

For something different, refreshing and fast this place is a good choice. I like the salads and soups. The falafel is decent but not something I am a qualified judge of. Same for the tabouleh (sp?). It is to Mediterranean food what Chipoltle is to Mexican - fast, convenient and different. This is not a place I would go out of my way for. Nor would I avoid it. It is a good change of pace.

So glad there is a new place in the IL Center for lunch. Stopped here the other day and I had the chicken kabob pita. The sandwich was pretty good! The lettuce was kind of warm and wilted. You also get hand made chips and those were amazing. Under $8 for a sandwich that comes with chips. I am pretty picky with Middle Eastern food because I live in Albany Park. I can spit on a falafel joint from my back door. I have high standards when it comes to shawarma, falafel, kafta, fattoush, tahini, hummus and kebabs. A nice alternative when I want something else than a turkey sandwich near the office.

Wouldn't normally think to write a review for a quick-service lunch spot in the Pedway (though there are a surprising number of very serviceable options down there, even for a vegetarian), but my experience the other week made me feel like I ought to give them a shoutout. I came in to order my usual lunch/dinner combo for when I know I'll be staying late at work -- tub of lentil soup for lunch, 5-piece falafel to reheat for dinner, all for about eight bucks. It was at the tail end of the lunch rush and they were out of falafel, and asked if I'd mind waiting 5 minutes or so. No problem! But for this negligible inconvenience, the staff made sure I got: - My falafel for free - An extra piece of pita bread - And a card for a free sandwich on my next visit It would never have occurred to me to complain about the wait -- they're just that friendly and accommodating. And the food, for the price, is one of the best bargains around. That 5-piece falafel, served with a hearty portion of jerusalem salad, runs all of $3.33 with tax, and it's tasty. The pita bread that comes with sides and soups is freshly warmed, soft, and savory; I could eat platefuls. I don't like the house-made chips -- not fried hard enough, in my experience -- but you can switch 'em out for a substantial side of anything else for just a buck. Yes, many of the sides are mediocre, the lentil soup gets really salty the later in the day you order it (evaporation?), and it's nothing I'd go out of my way for if I weren't on my lunch break. But when I am, the food is perfectly satisfying, and the price and service far beyond that.

I can't recommend Mezza, but I also don't dislike it enough to not try it every once in a while. This place needs some serious managerial oversight. Although the prices and food quality are generally OK, Mezza needs work in some critical areas. The cleanliness of this place has got to be improved. I regularly see less-than-pristine plates in the stacks behind the counter and the sitting area leaves a lot to be desired. I have had to ask them to use different plates before when I wasn't comfortable with the cleanliness of what they were going to use for my salad. The floor today was a little sticky. I'm OK with clearing the table, but having to scrape trash from plates into the trash and then stacking them into tubs is a little much. The greens are routinely wilted. I'm not sure what the issue is here, but if the solution is a new refrigerator or a new supplier, it seems like a no-brainer to fix it.

Just came here for the first time today! I had the falafel pita with Tabouleh instead of chips it was under $8, so not a bad deal. The hummus was excellent and the Jerusalem sald was amazing, bot were on the falafel. I wasn't a huge fan of the Tabouleh, but I think if you liked the ingredients more than I did you'd be happy with it. I got the pita on wheat bread, so it was bigger (and probably healthier). It was pretty quick and the people working there were very nice. This is in my building, so I am sure I'll be back again before too long.

makes you feel like you're escaping the office for a fun dinner when you're really in the lobby of your building... depending on what time of day you go, you will get a a fluffy salad with a chockful of toppings or a few leaves with a handful of tomatoes and cucumbers drowning in dressing. the white balsamic vinegarette is absolutely delicious. i'm not a fan of croutons (it's stale bread, people!!) but the crunchy pita topping that comes with the chopped salad and the fatoush salad side is a treat. the red pepper hummus is my absolute favorite accompanied by 2 whole pitas (enough to split). the north bridge location is a lot better as far as portions and consistency but i think over time, this location will catch up and live up to the mezza name. sit down to eat on "fancy white plates" or carry-out-- either way, the service is always quick and accurate.

I'm not a falafel expert by any means. In fact my first falafel experience was just last week and I had my second yesterday. So for a falafel newbie this place does it for me. It also helps that it's directly downstairs from my office. I have only tried the falafel and a few of the sides. The ceasar salad was good, pretty good serving size just for being a side. The cucumber salad is also yummy and the small side of hummus is enough to fill me up. I want to try other items on their menu because there are so many but I can't not get the falafel when I'm down there.

Favorite lunch place during the work week. 2 blocks from my work and ton of variety but I end up getting the same thing all the time because it is so darn good. Salads are large, fresh and delicious and they are accommodating with toppings. I always order their chicken ceasar salad and ask for them to add avocado and olives, yummo!!! The lentil soup is also very very good. The food is fresh, large portions and staff is very nice. Definitely make it a loop lunch destination (all for under $8) And you have a choice of spicy or mild chicken, both are good but I do the spicy. Haven't tried them yet but their desserts also look delicious and are freshly made on a daily basis.

the tunisian wrap almost changed my life. i don't know what sauce/marinade is on it, but it is to. die. for. i could probably drink it. the steak wrap is also great, as are all of their homemade greek sides. if you're into salads, the shepard's salad is my go-to. the salad dressing with the avocado and dates are a perfect match. seriously, everything from this place is good. the people behind the counter are always super nice and speedy too. thumbs up!

This is a decent lunch place. I came in as a solo diner at about 12.30 and found plenty of places to sit. My order for a Chicken Schwarma (they spelled it differently) Pita was taken quickly, and I was given a number to place over on my table. The sandwich comes with chips, or for extra you can upgrade to a salad. It was really nice to have my food on a ceramic plate, delivered by someone to my seating area, and so I felt that alone justified the price tag of over $7. The chicken in the pita was juicy and did taste well seasoned with spices, and the pita itself was also fresh tasting. I'm not sure why they bothered adding tomatoes at this time of year, since they tasted of watery-nothingness, but did add some color. So a solid lunch sandwich. I'm not a big potato chip fan, but I think they were above average. My only complaint is that the dinning area is very noisy, so it wasn't exactly a calm environment where I could focus on my reading, but if I were there with a few people for some a conversation over lunch, I might not have noticed. Based on the quality of the chips and pita, I'll come back again to try something else out. A very solid three stars; I'm happy to have the business in the concourse. Edit: I had a delicious croissant for breakfast today from Mezza. I was the only person there, so I didn't have to wait in a line and the cashier was very friendly. My drip coffee was average.

Love the Sheppard's Salad with spicy chicken. It has a delicious dressing! Recently tried the spicy chicken pita - it was just okay. The pita was soft but I had hoped for something more interesting than chicken in a pita. Oh well.. I'll stick to the salad next time. The service is fast so don't be intimidated by the long lunch lines.

One of my favorite lunch spots at work. I eat here several times a week. I am severely addicted to the Tunisian Chicken and Steak Wraps. The rice plates and salad are fantastic too. Really friendly staff. And the free (homemade?) chips you get with every sandwich are a great compliment to the meal. The food is always fresh, healthy and filling. Check it out!

Mezza was fantastic. I eat in the pedway a few times a week, and I never ventured to that area because it's tucked away. I'm glad I did! Couldn't eat there more than once ever few weeks, but when I do, I'm sure I'll love it.

This place is located in the amazing 225 N. Michigan Ave "food court." I think they just opened this location because I never saw it before. Anyway, the line was long but moved pretty fast, and then the wait to have your food brought to you at a table was pretty much instantaneous which left me thinking that it is not made to order. However, I dont care if it was because my falafel pita was delicious! It was covered in hummus and warm and gooey. Also, for an extra dollar (total 7.72) I got to sub freshly made potato chips for a yummy pasta salad with feta. They have a bunch of options you can sub the chips for including hummus and salads. I am definitely bringin my co-workers back here and ordering a salad and soup because those options were giving me food envy as well. Try to go here if you work in the loop!
