QUICKIE: Food - DELICIOUS, especially the peach cobbler! Service - Impeccable, friendly and fun! Environment - Casual, small and probably better for a onesie, couple or takeout. Definitely not great for a group unless you're taking out. Price - Just a wee bit pricier than I expected, but still pleasantly full for $12. Nothing to break the bank, but I can see why some may have complained for portions vs. cost value. Though I'm not complaining myself. If I had eaten any more, you'd have to roll me home. Dirty Deets for those of you who like to read: You know, it seems like I either give 1-star or 5-stars on my reviews, with an occasional 3-star (usually when it comes to fast food or chain joints). But I firmly believe this place earns my 5-stars. I wandered in about 9:45 on a Friday night, just as they were wrapping up for the evening. And yet, I was thoroughly surprised at how friendly and accommodating the staff were, and I never felt rushed out. Irving, the guy who took my order, engaged me in a nice conversation and helped me decide what I wanted. And I got a little entertainment from the peanut gallery in the back, too (didn't catch any of their names, but they all seemed very friendly and fun). Now, I am NOT a BBQ aficionado. I have not gone to any of the Chicago "hood" joints that some of the other reviewers recommend, unless you count Leon's on Archer, which is a totally different beast than this place. I was born and raised in Chicago, but I've lived in Memphis and have only eaten at Corky's and a couple other places, but probably not any of the FAMOUS ones. I am not an expert at BBQ. But I AM an expert at defining a delicious meal and great customer service. And this place does it right. I had the burnt ends - Mostly because it was described to me as being "like brisket but fattier"...I love brisket, especially when it's fatty! Burnt ends were just a bit more than brisket, so I gave it a go. The burnt ends were not burnt. I've seen this in other reviews, but unlike the others, I was actually glad for it. I'm not really one for chewing on char. It was nicely crusted with a little black, very tender and fatty and delicious. I got a 1/4 lb and it consisted of about 8 chunks. I wish I had gotten more, but the 1/2 lb was out of my single-dining budget. I was hoping to have the smoke roasted corn (?) but they had just sold the last one, DARN! So I settled for the small hush puppies. I think they came with like 5 or 6, which was a more-than-generous portion for one person. They were nice and crispy on the outside, soft and mealy on the inside with little chunks of what I believe are onions. Best part - they come with this "Alabama sauce" that reminds me of a sweet, tangy remoulade, very delish! Speaking of sauces, they've got a myriad of sauces which are all finger-lickin' good; reminds me of Memphis, and it really makes me happy when I can enjoy my meat with more than one sauce choice. They've got their classic, a hot, a honey mustard and a thin vinegary option. My favorite was the honey mustard, it was only slightly sweet, but tangy and flavorful. I enjoyed several squirts of each sauce. The meal came with a choice of bread and I chose a moist, sweet and delicious piece of cornbread which I savored and enjoyed thoroughly. But the piece de resistance was the peach cobbler. To paraphrase Roger from American Dad: OMG the peach cobbler, Yelpers. OMG. The peach cobbler. OMG. Sooo yummy. Soft, buttery, peachy, moist, delicious mouth full of awesomeness topped with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. This is definitely what hooked me and what will keep me coming back. The meal was delicious, but the peach cobbler is addictive!

    - Living in Bridgeport, I'm really glad that this place opened up! This neighborhood is always ready for some new, delicious restaurants, so I'm glad the owners decided to settle down on 31st street. - The atmosphere was really nice. The restaurant is sma

Passed by this place many times while driving to work and decided to give it a try. Turns out that this place was known for its pulled pork sandwiches. There isn't that many seats inside so I decided to get it to go. I ordered one of their nose popular called the three hogs which have bacon, ham, and pulled pork between two slices of toasted bread with a side of tater tots. The tater tots were very well-seasoned with salt, pepper, and a hint of brown sugar. Yum! Next I tried the three hog sandwich. At first, I was upset that it cost $9 for that small of a size but now I could see why. It was a struggle to put in my mouth since it was stacked high. Eventually I managed to get a good bite out of it and it was savorous! Quick and good quality service. They put wipes and plenty of napkins in your bag.

Amazing succulent fall off the bone baby back ribs. They were perfectly cooked doused in sweet BBQ sauce. The mashed potatoes and collard greens were yummy. The hot BBQ sauce was good and I appreciated the NC vinegar being a Carolina girl. Service is fast and friendly. We'll be back for more!

Cashier was extremely helpful with my indecisiveness lol Saw this truck on the Travel Channel and couldn't wait to visit. Glad we did because it was amazing! Fried pickles and onion ring breading are A1...makes your lips all greasy, which I like lol Porky Tots we awesome, burnt ends were great and the pulled chicken was good. Loved this place and will be going back soon!

Needed a bbq fix, looked up a yelp and this place was mentioned. Thanks again yelpers Parking: Street no hassle Free. Scene: Small cozy place about 2-3 benches on the inside. When I came after a shift around 6 pm middle of week, no line no hassle. Not the best for large groups I could imagine unless there is seating hiding from me. Service: Great! Kind of a mom and pop feel. Made me feel back home in Texas with the affable crew. Was greeted by the manager and asked about the menu. Was kind enough to explain it, give the favorites, and chit chat for a few. Food: So, I had Fried Pickles, Mash Potatoes, Mac N Cheese and chicken sandwich. all were delightful! Fried pickles succulent, the batter was great blend of soft/stern gave great texture to seek into and let the flavor come out. Mac N Cheese topped bread blew me away. Mash potatoes delivered a great sweet taste that caught me off guard but i did not mind at all. Everything really tasted amazing. My only complaint is with myself that I didn't try the fried twinkie and corn bread to atleast take home sigh. Overall: loved it! great staff. would recommend and come back again! Cheers

Stopped in recently for a quick bite while waiting on a car estimate nearby. Setup with the place is really comfortable and casual. Little small corner spot with picnic tables inside and the staff was really friendly. Well enough about the setup... The food. I ordered the 3 Hogs Sandwich ($9) which featured bacon, pulled pork and ham. Delicious especially with it being on Texas Toast which was perfect. Also ordered a side of hush puppies which I believe was an extra 3 bucks. Pretty good. Sauce helps. The only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 is the price. Everything here is a la carte and my meal was over $12 without a drink. For a sandwich and hush puppies it's a little pricey. But that's my only real issue. Would have been really nice if the food specials came with a side and a drink.

Actual conversation I had with the lady taking my order at the counter: Me: I'll do a quarter brisket. Fatty, if you can. Her: What? Me: The fatty end. From the point, not the flat. Her: Oh, then you should order our burnt ends. Our brisket is really lean. Me: Um. Ok. Sure. Her: It's really good. Oy vey. The Texan in me already shook his head in bitter disappointment. What is there to say about Husky Hog? The sauce is really good. The classic and classic hot are pretty randy. They're also unavoidable since the meat is smothered in it. According to Yelp, the owners are from Tennessee, and it definitely reminded me of Memphis-style 'cue. Smothered. The burnt ends were fine. Some pieces (i.e., the ones with fat) were better than others. The fatty pieces sort of hit the spot for me, but on the whole, they're still on the lean-ish side. Franklin brisket, this is not. The pulled pork is better--so much better--at Smoque. Husky Hog dries out the pulled pork way too much, though it's hard to tell when smothered in aforementioned sauce. Really liked the pickles and pickled onions as meat complements, gratis and atop. Baked beans were good, too. They were tangy and vinegar-based, with an unsubtle hint of bacon. Good setup, too. I really like the Bridgeport area and it's a nice addition. There's lots of positivity in the Yelp reviews, and I know smoking can be a fickle beast (Case in point: the best brisket I had in Chicago was at Green Street Smoked Meats. But my second visit, it was just dandruff dry). But my visit to Husky Hog was thoroughly average.

Well what a great surprise I had a great time from the time I walked in the Door. I was greeted by a everyday customer. And a cashier that really love her job. She new about everything on the menu. And happy about it. I was about the meet the owner. Mr. Joey was down to earth and from Tennessee. With that being said I see why he has a great menu. Today I tried the burnt ends, Bacon baked beans, hush puppies. Everything was finger licking good. And how could I not order a fried sweet treat. Deep fried Twinkies. Need I say more. This place also sale's there made on site house made sauces. Great job HH BBQ Keep up the good food

call me a fan. I walked in tonight and the owner (pretty sure) reminded me as if I was back in VA. Super friendly, approachable and great customer service. I got the pulled pork sandwich, tator tots and beans. It was amazing. I got it to go and while they were packing it, he and I were shooting the shit about carolina bbq and various other types. The sandwich was amazing and the tots were spot on..I got the extra spicy bbq sauce and it was perfect. Thank God I live near here, I will be there often!

Lunch is always a dilemma. So one day I couldn't decide on lunch and wandered down Clark Street crossed Monroe and saw a line of food trucks. There were multiple trucks but Husky Hog BBQ stood out because I love everything BBQ and they have a big, shiny truck. I ordered 2 brisket sliders with 2 sides (tater tots and slaw). There are multiple serving options depending on your appetite (i.e., 1 slider - 1 side, 2 sliders - 2 sides, etc.) The brisket was tender, topped with pickled red onion, and had great flavor; tater tots were seasoned well. $10 and change. About 7 minutes from placing order I had my lunch to go, they have a few different BBQ sauces and small plastic containers with lids. The menu is easy to read, ordering is a cinch (the guy taking orders is cool), and the food is great. I enjoyed it because there aren't many places in the Loop to grab BBQ. I've been a few times since and can say it has been consistent every time. They accept debit/credit cards too!

I have been waiting to try this truck. Not bad! We ordered three pulled pork sliders. They were really expensive, $18. It came with three sides. We got the mac and cheese, Cole slaw and potato salad. The sides were awesome. Great taste in all of them. Very different as well. There was a spice in each one that we could not identify but it gave a very unique flavor to them. The sandwiches were good. Very small and as I mentioned expensive. $11 for two sliders with two sides and $7 for one with a side. I consider the truck as a novelty and part of the overall experience so I was OK with the cost. The meat was tender and tasty and their sauce selection was good. It tasted good as well. I will eat here again given the opportunity but will not anxiously await for it. We arrived at this truck in Carol Stream. They had a mechanical breakdown so we had to wait awhile. The service was OK and the overall system could use improving. People were packed all around the truck and in the way of collecting their order.

An amazing place to dig into some really well cooked meat! The manager was really friendly, cracked a lot of jokes and was very accommodating. I highly recommend the "3 hogs" for meat lovers and also the portobello taco for vegetarians/vegans. If you're a visitor, don't leave Chicago without trying this place out!

Ok, I will warn you...DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE...unless you want to become addicted! Joey and Lauren are great and and bring a lil Southern hospitality to the midwest/near southside spot. I stumbled upon this gem a few days ago and it was amazing. Recommendations...Ribs, Mac n Cheese, Collard Greens, and the brisket in other words...yes everything is recommended. Great spot and definitely my new go to BBQ joint! Lauren and Joey thanks for the hospitality.

First visit: Lets start with the guy that took my order. Seemed to be maybe an owner? Who knows? But he was very polite and talkative like he really cared about his customers. A little good customer service goes a long way. I ordered the 3 hog sandwich, tater tots and cornbread. The sandwich was really good. Nice juicy portions of ham, bacon and pulled pork on Texas toast. I also like that they did not drench the sandwich in bbq sauce which gave me a chance to taste all the flavors of the different meats. The tater tots were tater tots. Not much you can wrong with those. The cornbread was decent. Not my favorite but not the worst either. Although the outside of the building doesn't give you the best feeling about the place the inside was cleaned and made up for the rough outer appearance. One thing i didn't find there were rib tips or hot links. I was a little disappointed. Also, ribs are only served on Fridays and Saturdays or if you reserve 48 hours in advance. I would definitely come back and look forward to trying some of the other things on the menu [fried oreos, ribs...]

We arrived early for a White Sox game and decided to consult Yelp to find a place within walking distance where we could grab a quick bite. We could smell our dinner before we walked in the door - always a good sign for a BBQ joint. When we entered there were several things I noticed right away: the place was tiny, the guy behind the counter was super friendly, and - most importantly- it was CLEAN. We're talking spotless, people. I might even consider observing the five second rule in this little BBQ joint (well... not really, but still...) My husband ordered a half pound of burnt ends, along with three slider buns and a side of coleslaw. Once our food arrived, he didn't speak much except to groan in delight and continuously mutter that we MUST buy another pound to take home. I ordered the 3 Hog sandwich: BBQ pork, ham and bacon served between two pieces of Texas Toast. The BBQ was excellent, but that ham was out of this world! The sandwich was huge, so my thoughtful husband helped me clean my plate. We will definitely return the next time we're in Chicago. Heck, we might even come back just to eat here.

Pretty great place with really good food. Portion sizes are large here as well. Everyone seems happy when we come here and I know I'm pretty pleased after we're done. The place is small, but comfy and cute with a nice charm to it. I can tell a lot of love went into this place. The staff is really friendly and will bring the food out to you when it's ready. My only complaints are sometimes the staff isn't listening correctly and won't catch what you ordered. (I.e, I said chicken fingers and tater tots and they didn't hear the chicken fingers), and it's a bit dirty. Like the table needs wiped off and dirty napkins need to get thrown out. But nothing major.

Several other reviews have mentioned the prices are high for the serving sizes, and I'm inclined to agree, I guess. But the meat industry isn't the most sustainable one, so yeah meat is expensive, but let's live it up while we still can! I will be waxing poetic to future generations about Husky Hog BBQ (specifically, the Three Hogs sandwich) over a meal of lab-grown meat. Also I am severely iron deficient so eating here on the reg is basically mandated by my doctor.

Small BBQ restaurant preferably for take out due to limited seating. They have two picnic style wooden tables inside for dine in customers and two large picnic tables outside as well. Baby back ribs are served on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday ONLY, or with a 48 hour notice. The beef brisket was tasty and it can be served as a sandwich as well. The presentation is not appealing since it's served on a small hamburger bun. They offer the meats in 3 sizes: 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb, and 1 Ib. The side of baked beans and cole slaw were good as well. The miniature corn muffin has the size appearance of a sample. My meal which consisted of the 1/4 beef brisket sandwich, large (8 oz) baked beans, small (4 oz) cole slaw, and a bottled water cost $18.65 (tax included). I have dined at BBQ joints ordering the same items with larger serving for about 1/2 to 2/3 of the cost. The pricing is high for the quantity received. Lastly, the employee restroom is available upon request.

We had the joy of trying Husky Hog Bbq this evening and our experience couldn't have gone smoother. My boyfriend and I were looking for a good, almost late, night meal and came across HH. Grubhub tried to say that it was too late to order at about 815pm so we decided to call and find out. The gentleman was more than happy to cater to us when I asked if they were taking orders. He was also very courteous when I came in to pick up. We picked up our order about 12 minutes later and it was hot and ready when we arrived. We had a burnt ends sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich. Both were delicious. They even packed the buns separetely to avoid it getting soggy. Sides were Mac and cheese, fried green tomatoes, and some corn bread. Great flavors all around. We will absolutely be visiting again soon. Thank you!

  • Hannah C.

I'm not sure if the food just wasn't that good or wasn't my style. Take the burnt ends. They were not burned at all and super fatty. Which, like, if you want a beef flavored gummy bear, that's awesome. But I do burnt ends for lean meat and crunchy caramelization. The boyfriend was similarly unimpressed with the pulled chicken. The three hog sandwich needed some more flavors and textures - cheese and slaw or something? Sauces were quite good, as was the Mac and cheese, it just didn't live up to the competition.

Really excellent grub on our way to the Sox game. Short 4-5 block walk from the 35/Sox Red line stop. Small place with some outside tables too, which wasn't busy when we arrived on a Friday around 5:30, but had a steady stream of people coming/calling in as we were there. Lauren was super friendly and took time to cover the menu with us, making super recommendations. My pops went for the tacos, filled with delicious brisket & pulled, pork. I had the pulled pork and slaw, both fabulous, enjoyed with some of that HH famous sauce. All of the side dish options on the menu looked amazing. Topped it off with a peach cobbler, which I opted for over the fried Oreos/Twinkies! Yummy!

A coworker said I had to try the ribs, I did and they were just the way I like them. I ordered a half rack dry, it's the way to go. Add the sauce at the table. My second visit was a 1/4 of brisket, which was nicely smoked and great quality. The Mac and cheese was a pleasant surprise. This isn't your run-of-the-mill Orange noodles, it is also not your overdone bacon, brisket, five cheese and breadcrumbs Mac and cheese either. It has a little spice, which I liked. The man at the counter is friendly definitely from the South and a touch smartass, which is fine by me. In short, go try this place you will not be disappointed ( unless you are going for the ribs on a Monday, they only have them Fri-Sat).

After seeing this place a few times for the past year I decided to stop by today. Nice location small but clean. I ordered the Burnt Ends and Sweet Potatoe Fries. The Sweet Potatoe Fries was the best part of the meal. The Burnt End were just chunks of pork. No charring whatsoever. Very disappointed or perhaps spoiled by Famous Daves Burnt Ends. The Husky Hog Burnt Ends shoulda been charred hence the name. This was a big disappointment. The pork was served in a cup and seemed very small portion for $825 tasty but not what I was expecting. I may go back for the Sweet Potatoe fries

Husky Hog BBQ is brand new to the Bridgeport area so we though we try it. My husband smoke his BBQ all the time for us so we like to take a break once in awhile and check out an establishment that also smokes BBQ too. The man who runs the little whole in the wall is funny guy and he is friendly so that is a plus. Look we know BBQ takes a lot of care and love to make it taste super fabulous and makes you crave for more of it. Which also means the guy might be working all day long to make bbq happen for the folks who are willing to buy almost $10 only 1/2 of the meat pork, beef brisket and the ever so golden pieces of the burnt end sandwiches. We ordered 1/2 lb of the pull pork to share and two side items hush puppies and mac n cheese. He nice enough give me bread with my order, but it cost someone $0.50 for some bread normally which I found kinda weird bc everybody wants some sort of bread with their bbq and most restaurants just give you the bread. So what's the verdict here? The guy can make a mean pull pork and I like the bbq sauce that he makes, at least I believe he does. However, I am not a fan of the hush puppies or the mac n cheese. To me those were sides with very little flavor or seasoning perhaps that is the way it suppose to be so the BBQ can stand out. I'd be back to try the beef brisket possibly when I want to spend more money there because it isn't cheap. BBQ I feel in the Midwest is a novelty food if you don't do it yourself at home. It is expensive stuff.

I live across the street from this place, so me and my friends are here frequently. I love this place. The people are so nice, and the food is great. A lot of cops frequently eat here, and its always a treat to see them in their uniforms chowing down on some good bbq. They finally have been getting enough business to change their hours to stay open later, which is great because they only used to be open till 8 pm. So far I've had the mac n cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, pulled pork, burnt ends, 3 hog sandwich and fried twinkies and oreos. It's all good! I have never once been disappointed in my order.

Husky hog is awesome. The pulled chicken is my favorite and if you want to indulge, the peach cobbler is out of this world. Glad to have them in the neighborhood!

Dudes. This joint is legit. OF COURSE the owner is from Tennessee. BBQ this good couldn't come from a native Chicagoan. Now it's all making sense. I had 2 chicken sliders. Smashed potatoes. Cornbread. Memphis sweet sauce. $10. Good Lord was all of it amazing. The chicken. Legit, real chicken. None of that weird looking chicken here. I am insanely picky about BBQ sauce, I love a sweet & mild sauce, and this Memphis sweet sauce is pretty much everything I've ever wanted in a sauce, forever & ever, amen. Bottle that up, Joe. I'll be first in line. Those smashed potatoes had chunks of real delicious potatoes. The cornbread was crumbly & soft. Joe, if you're reading this. Please, please, please make Clark/Monroe one of your frequent stops. And for the rest of you, start following @HuskyHogBBQ right now. ------quick update------ I have now also had the shrimp & grits (delicious!) and the mac & cheese (also delicious!). Just order one of everything. It's the only way. ------another update------ Ok seriously. I can't stop eating here. I had the fried pickles today (YUM!) and the potato salad. I have literally not had anything even remotely unenjoyable from this truck. So. Good.

Do yourself a favor and hit up this new Bridgeport landmark. If you want to have a home run meal, order any of the following: hushpuppies, cornbread, greens, ribs, MAC AND CHEESE MY GOD, and burnt ends or pulled pork. The brisket here isn't outstanding, but who cares- everything else is. The sauce is BOSS, the staff is helpful and super professional as well as kind, and the adorable layout is a humble, sweet place to scarf. My Mom loves it here, so whenever she visits me I always pick her up some of their world class BBQ.

They had a food truck at Morton Arboretum for a festival. Service was friendly. Corn bread muffins were burnt on bottom. Mac and cheese tasted funny. My friend enjoyed the onion rings & corn on the cob.

Thank you Husky Hog for coming to the neighborhood! My husband does the ordering and picking up, so I've never actually entered the place. I have however, had their ribs, pulled pork, brisket, mac and cheese, and baked beans. Everything was really good. The sampler plates are really not that large and although the server suggested 1 plate for 3 adults and 2 kids, it was really not enough. Luckily we ordered more food and had just enough. My husband went in recently for some BBQ sauce for his own pork shoulder he was smoking on his new smoker, and the owner was really nice to him. He showed my husband his equipment (smoking equip) and gave him tips on smoking the pork. It came out delicious, especially with the Husky hog sauce.

Run, don't walk, to this place! Ok, or drive. But just go. Excellent bbq, which I was desperately craving. Pulled pork sandwich was wonderful. Baked beans were really great, too (got them on recommendation from the young lady taking my order, usually wouldn't be my first choice but glad I got 'em). They were sweet and vinegar-y at the same time. The cornbread was excellent, too. You order at a counter, nice intimate dining area, and the staff was so friendly. I will definitely be back. You should go, too.

This place is fantastic. Small, family-style set up with a few big tables and a handful of small ones. A very friendly staff. And phenomenal, mouth-watering food!!! I had the beef brisket which was tender and seasoned/sauced to perfection. Then had some fried Oreos for dessert. I have no complaints. Go there!

Tasty, good options without being overwhelming, fast and inexpensive. Really enjoyed this spot and left well fed and very full. I had the "special" 3 hog sandwich on Texas toast with side of coleslaw. My friend got the chili with side of mac and cheese. All were really good and I would recommend. Not much to look at from the outside but if given a chance I am sure you'll enjoy it.

I think that a second trip is needed here. The meat was good (brisket and pulled chicken) and so was the shrimp Po' Boy. The corn on the cob was so so, but the baked beans were fabulous. I believe another trip is needed here because it seemed so expensive for what we purchased, but will definitely try one of their dinner/value packs. Food was great- small portions and kind of pricey. Need to try the Hush Puppies and the three hogs sandwich.

Delicious sampler platter, great rec for first timers. All sides are yummy. Super nice staff. Just wish they wouldn't use so much disposable containers (styrofoam) for dining in. #fullandhappy

The brisket sandwich is the bomb! It's so juicy and the BBQ complements the tender meat. The buns were squishy and soft. The sides were all good except for the Mac and Cheese. It had coriander in it so the side had an Indian flavor to it. I thought the cheese as the flavor didn't mix well. The owner is really friendly and he's from Tennessee so he knows a thing or two about barbecue. Compliments to the smoker.

Amazing food! Had the sampler platter, perfect for two to share, everything on it was great. Was delighted to see fried green tomatoes on the menu, had never had them and I was in heaven! Daughter had the pulled pork sandwich and the mac and cheese. She devoured the sandwich but wasn't crazy about the mac and cheese, but that's because it was way better than any usual Kraft stuff she'd ever had! Will be coming back for sure!

Holy moly! The barbecue here is AMAZING! We got two sampler plates to split for a family of 6 plus 2 kids. We devoured every bit of that magnificent meal. I loved the pulled pork and the brisket was incredibly tender and flavorful. Be sure to get the burnt ends! Don't pass on the cobbler either. They had cherry and apricot when we went in and we ended up ordering an additional portion of each to split amongst the table. My only regret is not being able to try their baby backs. They're only served on Fridays and Saturdays and you have to call in advance to reserve your rack! MMMM!

I have to update my review because of the "burnt ends" slider. Don't let the name throw you off - it's cubes of beef brisket cooked again in its own juices. It's probably the best thing that's happened to me today. You must try it. On top of that, the lovely folks working in the truck hand out small cups of beverages - one time, when it was cold, it was hot apple cider, and today, it was lemonade. They also gave me a free cornbread with my slider. The only small gripe I have is that it's a little pricy - $4.50 for a slider hurts my wallet a bit. Other than that, I don't know what more you could ask for.

Spotted this truck outside Daley Center today at Chicago-ween...and the line wasn't too long so it wasn't a tough choice. Great value for the amount of food. 2 sliders and 2 sides for $10, add one more side and a drink for $12...and these aren't tiny little sliders. I got the shredded chicken and burnt ends sliders and the potato salad and mac n cheese...and man was I full. The shredded chicken was a huge portion and super tender and juicy. The burnt ends were topped with perfect pickled red onions that made for a meaty candy flavor explosion in my mouth. The mac n cheese had a nice kick too it and the pasta still had a bite too it. The potato salad was light and refreshing. Great flavor and not too creamy. Not going to lie, I would like to take an afternoon power nap following that lunch but maybe that's just because it's Friday and I'm ready for the weekend. Overall, add this to the list of trucks not to be passed up.

Husky Hog to the rescue! Invited friends over for HH BBQ ribs, pulled chicken and sides to shore up our strength to watch Game 7 of the Western Conference Championship, Chicago Blackhaws vs Anneheim Ducks. Dinner was beyond amazingly delicious, our guests were impressed and the 'Hawks won. Thanks Husky Hog, for making me look like the hostess with the mostess!

It's a bit expensive for the portions they give you. If you have an appetite like mine you will spend about 40 dollars on lunch. The chili is good and the brisket is tasty. I go here when I get my tax return back.

Burnt ends, brisket, pulled pork and sides, served up strictly southern style. This is a much needed great addition to Bridgeport, it's authentic and one of the only places close by for BBQ, luckily it's good. Husky hog also operates a food truck, which does more business than this walk up location, with that in mind give this place a try. I think once you do you'll be sold and want to come back on a regular basis, I know I will be.

Customer Service - GREAT! I was promptly greeted by a young hipster looking woman who was courteous and nice! Very upbeat! Food - DISAPPOINTING! Please don't waste your money. I was excited because of the southern pride BBQ smokers that can be seen in the back. However, I had the 1/2 slab of ribs and it tasted like they were oven made and covered in BBQ SAUCE. Very disappointing. The ribs had no pink smoke ring and the meat was brown looking as if it was sitting in a heater all day. No smoke flavor whatsoever. Tasted like grocery store ribs, which is crazy because Mariano's with the BBQ pits actually prepare better tasting bbq with a smoke flavor. Mac n cheese - Bland taste! Topped with bread crumbs and non melted shredded cheese. My suggestion is to take a page out of Lockdown Bar and Grill's book or Priscilla's Soulfood (Hillside, IL) book on good mac n cheese. If you're looking for overall good BBQ, go to Smoque. Consistency and Quality are hand in hand there. All sides are great and full of flavor and the meat is full of smoke and flavor. The ribs are fall off the bone at husky but they didn't taste like anything special! Just something out of a oven with BBQ sauce on them. If you're in Bridgeport, take an extra 15-20 min and go to a Hood BBQ spot like Uncle John's (inside Dat Donuts on 82nd and Cottage Grove) and get some much better BBQ with better sauce and tasteful sides and are plentiful in value. 1/2 rack of ribs and a small mac n cheese and a can of pop was $17 at Husky. Go to Uncle John's and get the same thing (maybe a different side) and pay a little over a half of that with better tasting smokey BBQ and more of it! This place has the potential to be great! Just put the effort into the food. Blend the value of hood Southside BBQ and their flavor and add your own touches and do the same thing the folks at Smoque are doing! Hours suck too, close at 8PM. But if they're food doesn't change for the better, it's probably good that they're not open that late.

They have some of the best baked beans I have ever tasted. They must have had some salsa mixed in because they were refreshing while still satisfying the indulgence of baked beans.

Great for carrying out/eating at home in pajamas and also eating at the restaurant. Cute decor inside, and everyone behind the counter is sweet, chatty and friendly. Staff was also happy to recommend appropriate portion sizes to my sweetie and me (we almost ordered two slabs of ribs when 1/2 a slab was plenty, which could have been a painful decision, as my boyfriend is a dedicated member of the clean plate club, and views gigantic portions as a challenge). The ribs are out-of-this-world delicious, and the Frito pie was a wonderful and tasty surprise. They also killed it with the peach cobbler, ice cream, and some secret additional spicy topping.

Now we've all tried our fair share of of BBQ sandwiches (I'm generalizing about people who yelp for bbq) but this one reigns supreme. Different sauce each bite (if you're like me), and portions to wow.

I got a 1/2 lb brisket sandwich, a large side (not that large) and a can of Coke and it came to $21 and change. That is too pricey in my opinion when you can get more food for less at places like Smoque or Pork Shoppe. The brisket was okay and the beans were okay. The customer service was very friendly.

Stopped by the restaurant on my way home and got the pulled pork slider - a bit pricey and the bun was soggy by the time I ate it but it was very tasty and I like that it wasn't drowning in sauce so you could taste the goodness of the meat. The young girl at the counter was a bit snarky but I live nearby and the food is good enough for a return trip.

HH has thankfully increased its seating capacity by 200 to 300% or so...from just a few stools in the window of its tiny storefront, to some picnic tables and benches. The BBQ is all masterfully prepared. I will definitely bring my brother here when he's in town visiting from food-mecca Philly.

This is a really good place for BBQ - lots to love here. Good BBQ and helpful/friendly people. The brisket is pretty lean - I admit I enjoy a little more fat as a guilty pleasure, but this is still tender and tasty. I have also had the burnt ends, pulled pork, and the three-hog sandwich. ALL GREAT. They have a lot of sides that I would love to try, but I have to limit carbohydrates for my health and so I enjoy a little BBQ sauce and skip the sides. Not the place for a really cheap meal - but you are getting quality BBQ so the price is reasonable.

I had a craving for BBQ for dinner and found this place through yelp. My pulled pork sandwich and the collard greens were seasoned very well and cooked to perfection! I can't wait to come back to try the tempting range of meats, sides and desserts.

On our way to a Sox game, we stopped in to try this new local BBQ joint. We decided to get the popular choices -- loaded tots (featured on cooking channel) and award-winning burnt ends chili. The tots were indeed loaded with zesty seasoning, mac n' cheese, bread crumbs, pulled pork, tangy sauce, and pickles. We scraped the bottom clean -- you must get the loaded tots. The chili was hearty and flavorful -- chock full of meat and corn, topped with onions and cheese. Get a bowl this fall. The meal was complete after fried twinkies. To top it off, the owners are super friendly -- we'll definitely be back again!

in addition to their sliders stuffed w/BBQ (had the burnt ends & brisket), their fried Twinkies & Oreos were delicious...a bargain at $11 from the truck....

So, you're reading this and you're probably not reading it to hear about how awesome the staff is. Well it's my review and I'm gonna start how I want to. DON'T TELL ME HOW TO LIVE MY LIFE. Now let me tell you a story to illustrate. Tonight, when it was -4 degrees out. We had the brilliant idea to walk down to the CVS to buy beer (why don't they sell it at gas stations out here?) and then walk back home and stop for BBQ. The idea was solid. It's the -4 degrees that was problematic. Frozen, weary and carrying our beer gains, we stumbled into Husky Hog and was greeted by smiles, savory smells and smoked chicken noodle soup why we waited. The folks who run this place are just awesome. Accommodating, kind, and completely knowledgeable about what's good there, not to mention rad as hell. Every time I step in there, it's sort of like coming home. There is joking, lots of delicious food and a lot less harping on why I'm not married and why there have been no grandkids yet. The food is delicious. I haven't made a purchase that wasn't just outstanding. The spicy chicken was my first taste, a lovely amount of heat and the coleslaw on top added a nice crunch. Everything after that has been a delight to the point where I like everything so much that I never want to try anything new. The one recurring purchase are the tots. Always the tots. Tonight I gorged myself on the 3 hog sandwich (omg, so much pork) and delicious soup. You probably wouldn't go to a BBQ joint to get soup but trust me, it is a must have in this kind of weather. You put on your boots, your gloves, scarf and coat and a large container of their smoked chicken soup and you're set to tackle this Chicago weather.

You can tell a lot about the character of a restaurant owner when you call them to ask how they are celebrating National S'mores Day, and they not only do not think it's a prank call but invite you over to use their stove. Now that's neighborly friendliness! While I did not take up Joe on his offer, I did stop in to try the 'q, which has been tempting me for weeks, as it's just down the street from me. It was great meeting Joe in person, and he assured me that mine was not the strangest request Husky Hog has ever received. He was very funny and really made us and other customers feel engaged in the ordering process and welcome. My friend and I both ended up with scrumptious dishes. I ate the fried pickles (with an amazing generous portion of Husky's made-from-scratch signature white sauce--all their sauces are made daily from scratch), the spicy chicken sandwich with Siracha and slaw (wet, tangy, and tasty), AND a small mac & cheese. The mac & cheese seems to have pimento peppers in it and is covered in some sort of crumbs. At first I thought it was strange (I had been forewarned by Joe and fellow Yelpers), but then I couldn't get enough of it. Next time, I think I will get a large mac & cheese. My friend enjoyed his pulled chicken sandwich and tater tots. The tots had a slightly sweet taste that intrigued us both and had us grabbing for more. Joe even gave us some corn bread muffins, which, as my friend put it, were the "pièce de résistance." I liked the corn bread, but it was a little difficult to eat because it was so crumbly. My favorite feature of the joint is that there are self-serving sauces with little cups to go. Make sure you grab a lot of the white sauce. You'll be craving it! Thanks to Husky Hog for a good experience. I look forward to coming back.

I used Husky Hog for a catering event - a party at Garfield Park Conservatory - for 40 people. Due to a slight email communication error, I showed up at (what I thought) was the correct day and time, and Joe said, "I don't have that scheduled today." He immediately followed it up with, "But let me work with you...how about..." and he presented 3 viable options in which I could get my order, to the party, in-time and hot and complete. His team even delivered the food (it was supposed to be pick up) using the food truck (so all the food stayed hot)! What could have been a complete disaster turned out even better than the plan! His team even thought about our guest list - and cut the corn-on-the-cob in half for the "little ones"! Joe was very helpful keeping me from making mistakes. I really wanted sweet potato fries - but he wouldn't do it. "No fried foods. They'll be soggy. You'll hate them. We can do much better." But the biggest accolade I can tell you about is that my mom - who has written and published and sold almost 1,000 copies of her own cookbook "Southern Grace and Italian Charm" - hasn't stopped raving about the food. "The corn - it was so perfect - sweet, with just the right spices and butter!" "Oh, those portobello mushrooms with the peppers and onions - I don't normally like portobello mushrooms, but those are to-die for!" "They certainly didn't skimp on the cheese on that mac-n-cheese - look at the way it strings, even reheated!" So, if you ever need an event catered - I can highly recommend Joe at the Husky Hog BBQ. And try the Alabama Sauce - if you've never had it, you won't be disappointed!

We thought the brisket was excellent and the grits with shrimp was fantastic. We tried the BBQ meat from the food truck but got to visit the brick and mortar location today and were very pleased with the BBQ sampler for 2. The mac 'n cheese and bacon baked beans were great. This is a great food stop if you are going to a White Sox game!

I'm so happy they opened a restaurant! The food is so delicious! Enjoyed the Pulled pork and Burnt Ends with Mac & cheese. SMOKED corn on the cobb a must try! Fried Green tomatoes w/bacon Asiago cheese wonderful flavors! It's a dance party in your mouth!!!! :-) Definitely worth the drive from the Northside to the Southside! The owners are amazing people...Very welcoming with southern charm!

Tennessee style BBQ. Delicious, very tasty, fresh and very tender! It was our frst time stopping in here and hadn't really read up on it, but we were pleasantly surprised. We both had the pulled BBQ pork and it was just right, tender and just enough BBQ sauce. The mac n cheese was excellent and I also had the collard greens which were delicious. We took the food to go because we were going to watch the World Cup but next time we plan to sit and eat at one of their outdoor picnic tables. Great Southside eating, no frills, excellent food and service and great prices. Can't wait to go back to try everything else!

I am drawn to food trucks like a moth to a flame. To make it worse this is a BBQ food truck, and I'm drawn to BBQ like a fat kid to cake. So, I when I saw the Husky Hog BBQ truck I was like a fat moth that saw a flaming cake (wait, what?). On an incredibly cold Chicago day (yes, I know it's only early December, I'm a sissy) the lure of beef brisket chili was too much to resist. When it was my turn to order I asked which side was better, the cabbage slaw or collard greens, he said he'd give me both so I could decide for myself. The chili was very good, although a tad spicy for me. I'm a big sissy though, it's probably the perfect amount of spiciness for most people. The corn muffin went perfectly with it. Now, to answer which side is better; the collard greens were really good. The slaw wasn't bad, but not as good as the collard greens (which were cooked with what looked to be brisket). Next time the HHBBQ truck and I cross paths I'll try the sliders. Mmmmmm, sliders......

Read about the Husky Hog on DNA Info Chicago and said, "Hey!! That's just down the block!" So when we were thinking about lunch today, we thought we'd swing in. The owner was incredibly friendly. Since we'd never been to his food truck, he took the time to explain all of his options and serving sizes. He was incredibly friendly and had a whole lot of character. The serving sizes were perfect. The prices seemed a little low for the amount of food we were getting--I really want to see this place succeed, so I hope that doesn't become an impediment for them. They still run the food truck, too. They do events and catering. He said he's doing a wedding tonight. Sounded like an awesome idea. We got pulled pork, burnt ends, fried pickles, potato salad, shrimp & grits, and he threw in some coleslaw in case we were still able to walk afterwards. We were surely full, but I didn't feel weighed down or disgusting. Awesome food. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

I first tried Husky Hog BBQ through their food truck and I was hooked. I particularly love the pulled pork sandwiches and their BBQ sauce is amazing. They have lots of great sides to choose from: mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, slaw, greens, baked beans, corn bread & more. I follow them on Twitter so I know when they'll be around. I was also recently in charge of finding a caterer for a lunch at work and picked Husky Hog. The food was great and working with Joseph was great because he was very flexible. In summary: Food is excellent and the people are amazing.

I decided to check out Husky Hog after reading the reviews on yelp. Sadly, I can't say the experience lived up to my expectations. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with tater tots and baked beans. The sandwich was a nice size and pretty tasty but it was greasy. The bottom bun was soggy due to all the grease which took away from the enjoyment. I liked the sauce though and appreciated the fact that they used high quality meat. The tater tots were standard but they came tossed in Husky's sweet n sour homemade dry rub. It kinda tasted like a cross between ketchup and bbq sauce mixed together. Whatever it was I didn't care for it so I didn't eat too many of the tater tots. That was my fault though because I should have paid closer attention to the menu. I wanted to try the baked beans so I ordered a side of those as well. They were the perfect mix of smokey and sweet but had way too many onions and bell peppers. The cashier warned me that the beans were served that way but I didn't expect that there'd be so many. The onions and bell peppers were present in every bite which wasn't very appetizing considering I don't really care for either. I paid $12 for the entire meal and that price didn't include a drink. IMO, that's a little high considering Husky is a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant located in Bridgetport. The pulled pork sandwich at Porkchop (located in trendier areas of the city) is cheaper and the first side item is included! Maybe it's just me but I feel like the tots should be included. The long and short of it is that I didn't come away very impressed with Husky Hog. I might be inclined to give them another shot sometime in the future but it probably won't be anytime soon.

Despite my Midwestern upbringing, there is nothing that I love more than good barbecue. But, with many of Chicago's great BBQ places quite a ways away from my Bridgeport neighborhood, good BBQ was something I never got much of. This is why I was so excited to see Husky Hog BBQ open up in Mr. Spanky's old location in Bridgeport, and was praying that it would be good. And, man, does it deliver! I stopped by on a Sunday evening and ordered their sampler, which came with pulled chicken, pulled pork, burnt ends, and beef brisket. I also got a large side of Mac and Cheese, a small order of hush puppies, and two pops. All that food was more than enough for me and the person that was with me, and it all cost only $25! The meat was all delicious, with my personal favorite being the burnt ends and the brisket. It was all smoky and succulent, but not so smoky that you couldn't enjoy the meat. All of the restaurant's BBQ sauces are homemade, and they are all delicious. The owner invented his own mayo-based "Alabama-style" BBQ sauce that is to die for! The Mac and Cheese was tasty, and the hush puppies were the best I've ever had. As if the food wasn't enough, the owner is awesome! Very friendly and frank, it's clear that he's proud of his food and can't wait for you to try it. When we were finishing up our meal, he even gave us some free watermelon for desert! The only downside is the limited seating. They have a small, four-seat lunch counter indoors and two picnic benches outside. As long as you come in knowing this, it's no problem. If you're looking for great, affordable BBQ, this is the place to go! Here's hoping the Husky Hog does well and stays in Bridgeport for years to come!

Great addition to the Bridgeport area! Went there last night for the first time and had a delicious meal. We ordered the sampler platter, half order of ribs, mac and cheese and sweet potato fries (we have lots left over!). Everything was very good, and our favorites were the brisket and ribs. The pulled pork was good, but the sauce used seemed much sweeter than their regular sauce. Although I do enjoy sweeter sauces, it was a little too sweet for us. Speaking of sauce, their mild and hot sauces are very good - perfect amounts of sweet and heat. And - the service seems awesome. I was late in picking our food up and just assumed it would be in a warmer or cold - but they actually recreated most of the order for me. Unnecessary (since it was my mistake) but greatly appreciated! Will definitely be back!

The pulled pork, brisket, and burnt ends were all soooo yummy! The fried green tomatoes were heavenly. The mac&cheese and baked beans were also delicious. We are so excited to try the rest of the menu!

Pulled pork slider is amazing, but cheapest meal deal is misleading. Ordered the cheapest meal deal they offer, which includes 1 slider, 1 side, and a drink. No signage indicates this, but the drink only includes their soda options, not water or lemonade. Didn't find out until ordering that I had to pay $1 more for water. Just doesn't seem right.

I saw the truck again today at Clark and Monroe. This time I had the pulled pork slider and the 'burnt ends' slider. The ends being the fattier parts of the brisket and it was good. I also has the bacon baked beans and the hush puppies. I love the hush puppies. I ate most on the way to my office before I took a picture. I wanted to show everyone you get a good amount of food for the money. I also really like the box. My photo doesn't do the presentation justice. It's a clean and simple brown box, which I assume is easier to recycle and more environmentally friendly. It's a very neat and clean package. I hope there will be another chance for me to try some more of your food soon. But I'll be getting the hush puppies for sure!

I still stop by occasionally and get the pull pork sammie. I want to try the ribs sometime. They are available Fri, Sat and Sun by order the night before. I recently tried the pulled chicken and my that was tasty. The owner said that the chicken is marinated in a citrus brine. The sides are great too. I'm happy that this location is only 2 blocks from the house.

We have been waiting for BBQ like this in our part of the world. The BBQ brisker was tender and soft. The buns were as fresh as could be. Wait until you taste the hush puppies with the Alabama White Sauce. Oh yum. Cole slaw was delcious. And when I went inside to pick up my food, the staff was so welcoming and friendly. They will get lots of repeat business from us. There are a few tables if you want to dine there.

I have been excited to try this place for a while. Had the pulled pork sandwich which was great. The sauce that came with the meat was tasty. They have a huge selection of sides. Mashed potatoes, skin in which is the best way, were awesome. The Mac and cheese had a really nice spicy kick to it. Tried their peach cobbler and that was delicious as well. The owner and staff are friendly people. Will definitely be heading back very soon. A lot more to try on the menu.

This food truck is completely forgettable. The brisket was bland and lacked the "smoked for 14 hours" flavor and texture I would expect. The burnt ends were anything but burnt....they were just chunks of meat. The mac and cheese was cold (there was even un-melted cheese on top) and had a mustard-like texture and color but somehow tasted like nothing. That should never happen with mac and cheese. The collard greens were just ok. I don't get all the positive reviews? This tasted like something I could get in a ready to eat to-go container from Jewel (at double the price). My co-workers were equally disappointed and we spent the entire meal complaining about how bad the food was.

I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Their good is delicious, the price is just right, and the owners couldn't be nicer! Follow them on twitter and when they're close, trek through whatever weather Chicago throws at you. If they're not afraid to sit outside with an open window, you shouldn't be afraid to stop by and pick up a meal that will satisfy. Don't worry, the turn around time is fast, so you'll be on your way in no time. This food is well worth whatever you need to do to get some, so head on out!

I had the pleasure of eating at the Husky Hog food truck this past Saturday. I tried the pulled chicken slider and a cornbread muffin. Everything was fantastic! I also took some additional sauce (the honey mustard and I believe it was the original BBQ) and they were soooo good! Like another reviewer said, if they bottled it, I'd buy it! Also, the chicken looked to be white meat (which is my preference) and yet it was not overcooked at all and was moist and tasty. Well done Husky Hog!! I've finally found my favorite BBQ in Chicago! Still looking for that perfect thin crust pizza though......are you up to the challenge Husky Hog?!? Oops! Forgot to add: the staff working the truck were incredibly sweet and nice! Went during the great downpour at the Chicago Food Social this past Saturday : please give my kind regards to your staff who were working the event that day: they were awesome!!

Best BBQ in the city hands down! Love this place, I've never had a bad meal there. I'd recommend for first timers the BBQ sampler platter so you can get a little bit of everything. Save room for the Mac N Cheese though because it's absolutely delicious.

Stopped by the Husky Hog before heading to a sox game. Joe was working the counter and was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was A+++++ Location was a little small, especially if you wanted to eat in, but thats to be expected in the city. The only thing that matters, the food, was delicious. I had the burnt ends, my girlfriend the pull pork. Both were amazing. The Sweet potato fries were delicious as well, im usually not a fan of them. Plenty of food for 2 people at 15$ too.

it was okay, maybe i have high expectations because I've heard so many good things from so many people including yelp, honestly i prefer Honky Tonk, I had a sampler platter with the pork brisket and 3 sides i wasn't impressed by any of it the mac n cheese was like a box mac n cheese with an addition of a spicy velveeta, beans were good but beans make themselves, brisket and pork were typical. I honestly think that if this was a fast-food chain it would be perfect for a teaser of what these staples should be, but a chicago staple this is not. I honestly prefer old school "hood" rib joints to this place. Please do something to separate yourselves from the rest because anyone can slow cook meat, we are in the midwest good cuts of meat are easy to come by, someone who makes it special is very hard to come by. Bottom line is, nothing special about this place, if you are in the mood and in the neighborhood it will satisfy but not blow away

I am not a big fan of BBQ typically, but this food truck has perhaps won me over... BEST MAC & CHEESE IN THE WORLD. Pulled chicken sliders were ridiculously good..... my entire department was jealous of the smell coming from my lunch. Will bypass all other food trucks and walk straight to the Husky Hog BBQ going foward! 5 stars - no doubt.

I'm from upstate New York, so coming to live in Chicago I didn't understand the craze of food trucks! My first month in Chicago I came across a food truck festival and thought I would try out some good ol' fashioned BBQ! Boy was I glad I did! Husky Hog has such great BBQ, and amazing Mac and Cheese! The crew was so friendly and gave me great suggestions for which sauce to try! I now understand what this food truck craze is all about!! I will definitely be back for more Husky Hog!!

I stopped in to try the new storefront out, before going to dinner later tonight. Decided to get the shrimp and grits ,and Mac and cheese to snack on. The grits were the best I've had in a long time, shrimp were okay(a little over cooked) The Mac and cheese was great, I recommend the large. I can't wait to go back for the meats.... Smelled great.

Totally legit !!! I have been barbecuing for over 20 yrs being a barbecue purist my families knows the real deal. Husky Hog has the quality of food I can take them and they are very satisfied and I love it too.

We came here based on the Yelp reviews and were sorely disappointed. The prices were high, the portions tiny. They obviously cook with foil, as we found some small strips of it in our food. Meat seem slow-cooked, but like in a crock-pot, not BBQ'd. It was tender, but not flavorful. Wooden plank bar is only place to sit inside.

So I decided to stop in after work one day and went back 2 days later because it was so good. The sauce is pretty good. I had the pulled pork and brisket. They were lightly sauced but you can take as much sauce with you as you'd like. The brisket was very tender and tasty. My favorite BBQ item is always the pulled pork and they do not disappoint. For sides, I've tried the Mac and cheese, baked beans and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were excellent. The beans had a little too much sauce for my liking but was very good nonetheless. I really like the mac and cheese, it has a little kick to it. I'm looking forward to getting some greens, cornbread and peach cobbler in my next couple of visits.

It's good, not great. The place is tiny with a couple of picnic tables on the street. I could see it being pretty annoying if they had more than 5-6 people in line to order. They seemed to be pretty nice people. The woman who took our order was very lively. My only issue would be anytime someone goes out of their way to tell me how great something is, it usually isn't now that I have an inflated expectation. I'm already in your restaurant, no need to tell me how great your food is. Other than that, I had a pretty good experience and was full when I left. There is way better BBQ in the city, but if you are in Bridgeport and looking for a quick meal, you can do way worse than this place.

I haven't had the chance to stop by the brick and mortar location but the truck was perfection! The first thing that greets you are big smiles and a delicious aroma of meat, what else could you ask for? I love that they offer sliders because I love to try a little bit of everything and I could do just that. The pulled pork melted in my mouth and the Mac & cheese had a different but delicious taste I couldn't put my finger on. I defiantly suggest hitting up Husky Hog to indulge in all your BBQ cravings!

Got dinner delivered and everything was fantastic. Has beef brisket sandwich, Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and baked beans. Great baked beans...not overly sweet and a little different than the usual take but in a fantastic way. Mac n cheese was an interesting yellow like a mustard but still great! I like the panko and asiago cheese topping. Also had the hush puppies and I think they were my favorite part of the meal! Great sauce and not too dry or bland!!

The best in the city. Nuff said. Get the brisket, you'll be in heaven. Pros: everything, staff, food, etc.

Love this place, besides their main dishes which are outstanding, the soups they've been offering daily are delicious. I have yet to try one that I didn't like.

Just had the brisket chili lunch special - $5. Spicy beef & bean chili with a tasty corn muffin. Great lunch. I'll be sure to try the sliders next time they're around.

Overall, this food truck provides good food for a great value: 2 meats, 3 sides and 1 drink for $12. I got brisket and pulled pork, with mac n' cheese, tater tots and corn as my side. Tender and flavorful, the pulled pork was amazing. The brisket on the other hand, was dry and kinda stiff. I think they need some thicker buns for their sliders. The bottom was soggy and flimsy, causing meat to spill out everywhere...Not good if you're eating BBQ on your lunch break. The mac n' cheese came out in kind of a small cup, but the sauce mixed in with coconut and bread crumbs gave it a really good flavor. Tots and corn were average, and nothing to complain about. The most surprising and impressive part of the meal was their homemade bbq sauce; I put it on just about everything. Check this truck out if it's parked near your office.

The Tennessean owner who calls me "brother" put me in the mood for some good BBQ. Burnt end slider -- Fatty and delicious. Bacon Baked Beans -- BBQ sauce taste and nice firm white beans. The Original sauce was sweet, popped, and finished crisply. The Carolina Vinegar was very good. There are so many good BBQ sauces but these are memorable.

I rarely go out to eat so it's something special that I've been here twice in the past month. Everything I've had has been phenomenal -- and there is a huge selection that seems to get changed up pretty frequently. Tons of house-made sauces are scattered throughout the place. They really did a few things with the space, it's small but they opened it up a bit more than it was when Spanky's was here. There are a couple of picnic tables and I'm pretty sure the music is straight from 18-year-old me's playlist (plenty of Weezer, Pixies acoustic takes, the Yeah Yeah Yeas, etc.) I have really enjoyed the demeanor of the various employees I've run into, and on my first visit a guy (chef? owner?) brought us out some complimentary soup that tasted like heaven. This is my new go-to spot.

Okay, here's the deal. I don't drink or smoke or do recreational drugs or run around on my wife. I have one vice and that vice is food. I really love food, from bone in ribeye and diver sea scallops to Reese's peanut butter cups. I know what you're thinking...what could this possibly have to do with this review, well I'll tell you. I eat off the HH truck every chance I get. I love the big, southern, gregarious hipster that guides me through my order and I love the food. I really love the food. Today? I had the brisket chili. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten. If I had money (I don't) I would invest in the mass production and distribution of this perfect balance of meat, beans and sauce. Kudos, I'll see you in our special spot next week.

What a hidden treasure! I wish it found it earlier.from the turmeric mc n cheese to the battered sweet potato fries, every dish has been crafted to perfection. Nothing seems to have been thrown on the menu as an afterthought. The owner/chef is a honey bear! He is clearly so passionate about the food he serves and making customers happy. I am happy to be a repeat customer and support businesses such as these where you know it's all about quality.

I waddled up to this truck 7 months pregnant and delighted in the fried pickles presented to me. The mac and cheese? Delectable. The brisket sliders? Delish. The chicken was good for being chicken, but I don't like chicken so there ya go. I'm eager to make it back to try the deep fried Oreos, and am sad that I live so far from where the truck makes its rounds.

This negative review is on the customer service and not the food. The food is really good and usually the customer service is as well. However, the women that usually work appeared to be off today. I arrived and there was only one person in line and his order was ready and on the counter. The owner was working the register and was having a conversation with the gentleman in front of me about his technique on grilling. This conversation went on well over 5 minutes. Not once did the owner verbally acknowledge my presence. He just looked at me and just continued to speak with the gentleman in front me. Keep in mind that the gentleman in front of me had received his order and had paid for it. I understand that he was in deep conversation, but a "ill be right with you" would have gone a long way. Finally fed up, as I turned around to walk out of the door, he then said "can I help you". Needless to say, I kept walking and i won't be back. I don't pay for disrespect. Blackwood is just as good and they will be getting my money from this day forward.

The most underwhelming burnt ends I've ever had. Overpriced too. I will not be going back.

This beautiful blue truck serves the best BBQ I've ever had! Burnt Ends are to die for and their Mac'N'Cheese is addicting....I could eat a whole tray of this stuff. The owner's are so friendly and really take the time to make sure your food is perfect! O and the fried pickles, that I was so hesitant to try, were delicious!! Now I want some Husky Hog BBQ just thinking about it! :)

AMAZING BARBEQUE. Sides that taste made-from-scratch. A sweet owner. You can't go wrong with this truck. I love the food and stop by every time they are at the U of C.

I'll pass on them . Had it yesterday with friends over for the Bears game. Burnt ends were hardly burnt. Mac and cheese? Ick! Never have I had red peppers in it. Surely not grandma's. or mine for that matter. Changed the whole flavor for me. Onion rings and tater tots were way too greasy! Everything looked like it was just shoved into the box like a pair of shoes. Had to go back because they forgot some of the food we ordered. Brisket was ok. At least it was tender. Had to pay extra for a couple buns. They couldn't just include 4 little buns? Really...R U kidding me? Beans were not great! On the cold side so called Mac and Cheese as well. and we only live minutes away. Maybe it was on off day. But, I will pass next time. I work to hard for my money to have food tossed in the garbage. I was very disappointed. ..and to think it cost me $65 bucks......never again.....it sat on my stomach all nite..

Absolutely amazing BBQ. I've had the pulled pork, the brisket, the chili, the hush puppies, the mac and cheese, the baked beans, the corn fritters, the corn bread and its all delicious. I have had BBQ everywhere in Chicago, from Chicago Q, to Smoque, to Smoky's, to Lilly's Q, to Bub City, and HUSKY HOG BBQ IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE! I can't wait to track this truck down again and get some more deliciousness

Mindfully prepared food - the best tasting BBQ and side dishes around. Haven't been to the food truck yet, but the catering was fantastically delicious. Enjoyable gourmet-level distinctive flavors and textures - not your run-of-the-mill blah mushy offerings

I just tried this food truck for the first time today and was pleased with the food, but very upset with the customer service. On their menu they listed a 1 slider/1 side/1 drink combo for $6.50 and stated that all items were also available a la carte. So, I purchased the combo and added a side. This happened to be less expensive than the 1 slider/2 side combo with an additional order of a drink. After I stood in line for a while, I got up to order and the small menu up front says that the combo I wanted was the "kids menu". Ok. Fine. Smaller portion, lower price. That's what I want. When I ordered this, I was immediately scolded like a school child and was told that I was trying to swindle them by ordering the "kid's" combo. First of all, their large main menu said nothing about this being a kid's combo. Secondly, no where did it state that the combo could ONLY be purchased for a kid under a certain age. Thirdly, there was absolutely no reason to be unkind and reprimand me for their own mistake. I tried to post this on their Facebook page and it was immediately removed with no response to me. I am a big fan of food trucks and I work with MANY people who eat at them every day. I will be informing all of them of my experience today.

Stopped in @ the Garage for some lunch. HHBBQ's food was delicious. Ordered the meal deal with chicken sliders. Great flavor, good portions, reasonably priced. Service fast and friendly. Very nice packaging. Can't wait to see the truck around the City. Been raving about it to friends and hubby.
