I feel I can't give them five stars since I've only ever had shrimp and fries. Those shrimp and fries sure are good, though. I grew up on the far East Side of Chicago and spent many hours driving down Torrence to River Oaks. My family and I are quite the shoppers and would be famished on the return trip. Harbour Point to the rescue with bags of fried shrimp. I can say I've never had a bad bunch. If you're ever out east, stop in. They have a pretty extensive menu, and I hope to try at least half if it someday.

Purchase of gumbo for the first time seem like the rice has been sitting in there as long as the gumbo has been made and the gumbo taste old. Called and asked how often do they make it and she said it's fresh every other day. will not buy this again!! Too disappointment.

If what you want is mouth watering fried seafood to go, come here! I drive about 25 miles just to get their buffalo shrimp. Their jumbo shrimp is huge, Im excited toto know what the colossal shrimp looks like and can't wait to try some fried alligator. One of my favorite low-key spots! (Only takeout)

The only place I get my fish & crab chips from. My husband loves the shrimp as well. If they delivered I'd be in hog heaven!

Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! ALL of the other reviews have to be by employees or the owner's family and friends because it was DISGUSTING! I ordered blackened catfish and what they gave me was definitely NOT catfish. Whatever it was it had a totally smooth texture on the outside. Give me what I paid for, not some leftover crap that you're trying to get rid of. I will NEVER go back to this place and I am going to spread the word. Whatever that fish was, it was greasy and had no flavor, the "homemade" red beans and rice tasted like some crap out of a box and the fries weren't even good. They changed ownership at least 5 years ago and I had only been once since then. The new owner was trying some new things then so I thought he just needed some time to work out the kinks. Not sure if this is the same owner from 5+ years ago but I will definitely NOT go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Popped in based on Yelp reviews- it's a little hole- in-the- wall place put we were pleased wih the service. The Buffalo Shrimp was EXCELLENT great size not over breaded and not over cooked.

If you compare this place to Bob's Shrimp in Hammond Indiana there is none. This place uses too much breading and leave the tails on. That adds weight so you get fewer shrimp. The shrimp texture is different. I can't describe it. Perhaps one uses gulf shrimp and the other uses imported tiger shrimp. There is a different taste; like Lawrence's from Canal St in Chicago. They use too much breading too. Don't get me wrong: I'd rather a short travel than drive to Hammond Indiana. Everyone has a different taste so give them a try you might like Harbour Point better. I didn't.

Really this is a 3.5! I was quite impressed with the menu of this dive-y takeout joint ~ so I ordered all I could with my $36 ~fried alligator ~fried shrimp ~fried orange roughy ~seafood gumbo ~spinach and pasta The reason for the 3.5 and not the 4 simple ~ the shrimp ~ they were totally covered in thick breading ~ sometimes I had a hard time telling the head from the tail. Way to much. The gator was a little better then okay ~ I was surprised it was as good as it was being so far from the gulf. The spinach and pasta was edible ~ but I should have known better ~ this a fry pit The orange roughy with a squeeze of lemon was 4 stars! The meat was light and melted in my mouth. It stood on its own. No sauce needed. I almost wished I could trade it all in for just a few more pieces. The seafood gumbo was the bomb! This was also a solid 4 stars. The roux was just the right color and seasoned beautifully. I would have preferred my rice on bottom instead of mixed in ~ but it was so good that it was easy to ignore the foul. All in all a good place to get some fried fish. If you are remotely close swing by ~ if need be eat in your car ~ grab some nice white wine or a couple of beers and have a fried picnic in the forest preserve ~ though I had a 25minute drive to my destination and the food was still nice and warm. Good eats!

Good place for fried-anything-seafood in the middle of an otherwise dreary area... the place looks kinda sketchy but it's actually decent... the owner is as nice as can be.. he came out and chit chatted with us and everything. we had fried lobster, which was very good... they're kinda lobster nuggets or something.... and buffalo shrimp are pretty good, too! it's obvious that this isn't your ordinary "fried anything" type place though... the owner really is trying to do something different from everything else in the area... he has items on his menu you wouldn't find anywhere else... and does things really well, he doesn't just throw things in a fryer and hope for the best.
