Overwhelming selection made it a little difficult to order something... and I'm still not entirely sure what on the menu is a side, as opposed to filling in a wrap... but whatever I ended up with tasted good. What I ended up with was a gyro wrap (lamb) with... more or less everything in it. I think I asked for pickled something-or-other, baba ghanoush, red cabbage, tzatziki sauce and maybe falafel. It ran about $7. It wasn't spectacular, but the wrap was light and the gyro tasty. The many, many flavors within complemented each other pretty well, and overall I think it's a good deal. GRK isn't the first place I'd go to in the loop for Mediterranean food, but it's certainly not a bad choice.

The location in Northwestern stinks. The help is surly, and the music which should be Greek is Godawful. This place reflects that there is no management present. The help is bored out of their rude minds and should be replaced. Maybe they are paid badly. Northwestern went from a huge cafeteria to independent food places. THAT STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN. Northwestern has set a lousy example. Over rated.

Popular and quick service Greek during the downtown lunch hour. With a line that was 20 deep when I arrived in, I thought this was going to be an adventure and a satisfying meal. The line moves fairly quickly, as the menu setup is simple. All the meats and salads are just scoop ready for the servers so you just go through the queue to order. Options: Either a wrap or plate. With wrap - everything is wrapped up - sauces, hummus, veggies and meat. With the plate - everything is on a plate. Pretty simple eh? A bit of a disappointment is that they don't shave the gyro meat off the roasting spit or a freshly roasted sausage out of the broiler, but I get it...its lunch time - fast fast fast!. I tried the hummus and the baba ganoush, which was lacking in flavor. The rice tasted like it was mass-produced and out of a box, lacking much flavor. Gyro was just meh, but the sausage was a welcome surprise. Fill-your own fountain drink setup. It was fairly easy to grab a table - as I think the traffic flows through nicely. Its spacious enough not to feel cramped at lunch. Overall - it was not what I expected. For a quick meal at lunch whilst downtown - GRK Greek delivers as expected...Food quality meh (there are better)...but its efficient and I would say good value for the quantity of food you receive.

I really love the Greek salad here with lamb and beef meat. The pitas that come with the meals are warm and soft. They also have a rewards punch card that makes the 11th meal free.

I was a little intimidated by the long line at first but the food made it worth the wait. The decorations were so cute and the lamb gyro pita was very authentic. The staff was very nice and I was happy to see they sold Greek chocolates. It was a great place to have lunch and escape the busy city life! Plus, I was happy to see some fellow Greeks while I was there!

Just ran in for a side salad. Got a small Greek. I asked for another olive and was told there's be an extra charge. Ok, fine. I was asked if I wanted dressing. Well, of course. Got back to the office. No dressing. Not a yummy salad without dressing. Probably wouldn't go back to try more.

Ordered the rotisserie chicken wrap with hummus, cucumber sauce, tomato/cucumber salad, feta cheese, lettuce and a side of fries. $9 bucks and change. The chicken is flavored well, kind of dried out though. I like the wrap itself - it's tough and resilient similar to pita bread and never cracked or tore. The wrap held up well considering the moisture from the fillings. The wrap is pretty large. I don't think I needed the side of fries. They don't cut the wrap in half. I cut it prior to eating.

Should have read my previous review before coming back. Rotisserie chicken is so dry and I really hope the sharp thing I just swallowed is a very well done piece of thin chicken. Not a fan and now I don't feel that good...I should not have wasted my money or calories on this one.

So the office ordered lunch from here today. Grk is generally a very reliable restaurant. They deliver on time which is appreciated. I ordered the Greek salad with chicken and it comes with a pita. It was good but not great. I wish there was more feta and the salad came in a plastic container that was good for tossing the salad. That's a beef I have with lunch salads....they are impossible to toss. One ends up eating each veg at the same time as opposed to evenly. A real negative that I have for this meal is that I found an olive pit in my salad. That could have really damaged my teeth.

Ordering is confusing, as some items pertain to plates, others only to salads, etc. The food is mediocre and the hummus is awful. Way too salty. I've never had too-salty hummus until today. I'm fairly certain I was overcharged but when I tried to speak with them to clarify, they were rude and rushed. Go to Taza or to Roti. Both are better.

Loved this place! If you order the village salad be aware that there is no lettuce just big hunks of tomato and cucumber. Yum yum. Pita is not the best so you will not be tempted! Barely even needs dressing the ingredients are so fresh!

FRESH GREEK I really think Chipotle has had an effect on the fast causal dinning experience. This place has taken the Chicago Style Gyro Sandwich to another level. Typical fast food gyros have one option and that's a pita sandwich only. This place allows you to get a sandwich, salad or a plate. What I like about this place is all of the options you can pick to choose with your meal. I decided to get my gyro as a salad. The guy grabbed romaine and I asked him for some spinach too. He looked at me like I wasn't suppose to do that but he didn't say no. I then had them add tomatoes, olives, red onion, spicy feta & cucumbers. The menu board was a little confusing. I asked the guy what else I could get on the salad and he pointed at the board and said anything. I then said how about some hummus and he told me that would be an extra charge. That is where my confusion was. I told the guy not to worry about it and skipped that option. I got the Greek Vinaigrette as a dressing. Then I saw the words spicy tahini and asked for a side of that. I love spicy. I was not a fan of the vinaigrette because it was a little bland. Instead I used the spicy tahini as a light dressing. It was amazing. There was also a pita on the side but I didn't eat that because I was trying to eat light and skip the carbs. I really liked this place. I loved having all of the fresh options and customization when making your food. I do wish the board was a little more descriptive. I was confused just looking up at the menu and the staff really did not take any time to explain it to me. They kind of stared at us and kept talking to each other. I kind of wished they would have asked if we needed help or walked us through the menu. Besides the lack of customer service the food was delicious and fresh. I will come back and next time I should be a pro at picking my food items off the menu. There are a few tables outside but you will not be in the sun. Yeah the tall buildings make a lot of shade. There are plenty of seats inside and the room is comfortable with nice booths. So if you are downtown and looking for a fresh Greek option then this is the place. You can grab your food fast and the way you want. This is the new way to eat in a fast causal setting in the city.

Just finished eating a huge, delicious plate of food from here. The protons are generous. Rice is underseasoned but that's what all the sauce and cheese is for. The pita I got was as big as my head. Reading some previous reviews I was worried about being charged extra for toppings, but I wasn't. I received modest amount of onions, veggies, olives, lettuce and cheese all for under $9. It was a slow day so service was very quick. It's right next to my work so I will be back.

It's chipotle greek style! This is a great spot to pick up some quick fresh greek cuisine. They have more options then your standard fast food gyro on a pita. Also, really good place for gluten free dieters out there. Always expect a long line during the lunch rush, but it's worth it.

I was here yesterday (7-31-2015) around lunch time and it was pretty busy but fast. They were friendly enough, but you did feel rushed when ordering. I got a falafel wrap on whole grain with romaine, humus, pickles, and spicy red that was decent. I also bought some humus and pita chips that were fantastic.

The first few times I went there, the food couldn't have been more delicous. Really amazing...good flavors, fresh and yummy. The quality has gone downhill. The chicken is dry and gristly. The salads are getting smaller and smaller. The peppers tasted old and off. I'm sad because I love Greek food and was so excited for a fast option in the loop.

  • Mark M.

Tried this for the first time. Wasn't impressed. The service was rushed & brusque. The menu was confusing. I ordered a plate with rotisserie chicken. The food was ok but the ingredients seemed a bit skimpy. I will stick with Roti or Nesh next time.

Great to see a decent Greek place. Had the rotisserie chicken pita. Delicious with the yogurt and hot sauces. The falafel looked delicious and I will return to sample it. Got fires with it which were ok but I was shocked when I couldn't find my ketchup. That said no one goes to a place only for fries. I will return to sample the lamb as well.

Got a gyro sandwich, played it safe being my first time here. Asked for Tahini sauce and got the last misty pump of the bottle, which the worker decided wasn't worth filling up for my sandwich. Wrapped it up before I could even ask for more sauce on my sandwich. Got to the register and asked for more on the side. They insisted and I mean insisted on charging me extra, I even told him to open my sandwich and look for himself, he still refused. Rather not pay extra to get something I'm already paying for. One star for lack of care for the customer and rude managers.

I just moved to Chicago recently and work around the West Loop downtown. It's possible that lunch in this part of town is like an all-out war and you have to have the patience of a monk to stand in most of the lines. Needless to say, one of the days I decided I was waiting for GRK come hell or high water. It was worth the wait. I love greek food, and while I wouldn't call this place "traditional", it was definitely a great stand-in. I got the greek salad with chicken kabob on top. I highly recommend it! My only complaint... the sides or "extras" are pricey. I got a SMALL (emphasize, small) cup of rice pudding to-go which couldn't have amounted to more than 2-3 ounces, and it was almost $3. It just seemed outrageous and it didn't blow me away. Otherwise, when I feel like fighting the crowds for a gyro during a downtown lunch workday, GRK will be top of my list.

My company regularly has GRK as a seamless lunch option. usually order the same thing - Greek salad w/ spit fired rotisserie chicken. Normally I'd rate this place a three (the Greek dressing is all vegetable oil, I usually dump most of the oil out before shaking it with the vinegar and spices). Tried changing it up today with a spinach salad and Skirt steak w/ greek dressing. The steak looked gray and spongy, tasted like dog food. I ate one piece, started chewing the next and spit it out. Really nasty. Also, the dressing was so salty I couldn't eat the salad portion. Like "I'm going to have a heart attack or bloat three sizes" kinda salty. My two stars is an average of my usual experience and this last one (1 star).

  • Saumitra S.

It's a great place. I usually get a rice/pasta bowl with their chicken kebab. It's unfortunate that they charge extra for additional toppings, unlike other places

  • Ryne M.

Hummus? Bland. Greens? Wilted. Chicken? Underseasoned, dry, strangely chopped. Pitas? Terribly stale. Selection of toppings? Limited. I think my favorite part of the plate was the hair they put in there for me. It was the only thing they didn't charge extra for. Spare yourself...spare everyone you know. Go to Roti, Benyejuda, Nesh, Naf Naf, I Dream of Falafel...literally anywhere else to get your Mediterranean fix.

My company orders here through seamless-food delivery service .About 4 months ago I ordered the fruit cup had mold on it and I decided that that was a bad sign- no more. On Wednesday they were up on the lunch choices so thought Id take a chance. Got a greek salad and small lemon soup. All in all not bad except the pita bread was stale as shit. HOWEVER about 3 hours later start getting bad indigestion. Long story short i got food poisoning. Food poisoning lasts 24 hours vs flu bug which can last a week or more. Severe symptoms and I fainted twice. Fell flat on my face. Feeling better today Friday. Able to eat some scrambled eggs F u GRK kitchen!!!!!!You will be reported to health dept. Anyone else out there get sick from this poor excuse of a restaurant? To add insult to injury this place isn't cheap either!

90% of the time I would whole-heartily recommend GRK. The food is always fresh and the service, despite the panic-inducing line, fast. GRK offers loyalty punch cards where the 11th meal is free and I've gone through 3 now. I typically get the Village Salad, which is chunks of tomato, cucumber, onions, feta, olives, hot peppers, and fresh falafel. My only, ONLY complaint is that they don't always fill the bowl up to the top. Rather, the woman has a tendency to only fill it half way to capacity. This would be fine if I wasn't paying $8 for the salad. That being said, if the woman (very friendly) is filling it, make sure you ask her to fill it to the top (the other gentleman always does). Aside from that, I will always recommend this restaurant as a great place to grab lunch during the workday. If you're still hungry, get the rice pudding!

  • Bruce J.

I've been here a few time and would rate the food a 3 for fast food Greek, but the service line is rushed and rude. They didn't get my toppings right and would not give me the sauce I wanted on side to fix it. They said it was there and of course when I unwrapped it wasn't.

Average gyro but fantastic space; if you show up at 11:30 or well after the lunch hour, you should be able to score one of the booths along the wall and hang for a while without that feeling you get when someone breathes on you from the table just six inches from you at Roti, Naf Naf or other Greek/Mediterranean spots in the Loop. I dropped $7.50 for my gyro and it was not nearly as good as the $6 I spend at Falafel & Grill or Niko's, and there wasn't nearly as much meat (maybe that's a good thing, but I'm not eating gyros to be healthy). Not worth going back but for having a casual meeting/lunch with colleagues, it's hard to beat this space in this 'hood.

Best Greek salad. Chicken kebob is so good. If I don't pack lunch I'm hard pressed not to go here. And now you can order online to pick up??? Fab. The only downside to this place is the line!

Honest, fresh, and healthy - these are the words that come to mind when I think of this place. I know it's really easy to run out in the loop and grab Chipotle, Potbelly, or Jimmy Johns for a quick lunch. However, Greek Kitchen gives you the opportunity to try something more fresh that will also make your taste buds jump and scream a little bit during your lunch hour. This place serves up delicious platters filled with rice, hummus, baba, veggies, and your choice of meat for $8! You really can't go wrong here, and you'll be eating something that is freshly made with fantastic ingredients! On a cold winter day, try their Greek lemon soup - it's wonderful!

So glad I found this place through friends. Such a better alternative to Roti and Chipotle. Better quality, fresher food, but same concept as Roti and Chipotle, you start with a plate or sandwich or salad, choose your meat and other toppings. Great Greek food, fresh ingredients, good amount of meat and yummy pita bread. Chicken kabob and steak are delicious. Egg lemon soup is also good but overly lemon-y on the day I first tried it. Staff is hit or miss, some are friendly, some barely speak English, others are in a hurry to get you through the mad rush assembly line that happens during lunch. Even if the line is long, which it usually is, it moves pretty fast. Pretty large seating area for a place in the Loop. A plate will run you about $9. I'm a fan and will be back.

Had the gyro pita, spanakopita & plain fries. $16+ This place is far from "cheap" but it's rich in flavor. Had to ask for extra sauce on the pita, kinda tight with that ladle. Only thing I didn't love was the sapanakopita, they make theirs without feta or maybe just mine? It was bitter & disappointing. Also, not enough ketchup to go with the big as$ box of fries. Will be back.

I I stopped by this location for my lunch break. I wasn't particulary hungry for a whole meal, so I ordered sides and asked for a side of Orzo. There was a huge tin full amount in front of me on the counter. I asked the gentleman serving the food if I could have a side of it. He said no, that side of Orzo's are in the cooler behind me. I told him I wanted it from the batch in front of me (that was freshly made), and he repeated himself again that the sides will come from the cooler. Needless to say, I didn't buy the Orzo from the cooler and just went with the soup. Even though the food is good, the service is rude enough for me not to recommend it to anyone else.

I went back today, prepared to do battle, and as Alden V. mentioned, Med Kitchen is now GRK Kitchen. I feared that the staff would be different and that the credit I was due from being overcharged would be null and void as it was from the former establishment. I really only expected a credit of $1.25, but since "sausage fingers" ended up comping my entire lunch, I'm leaning towards forgiveness. Not sure why they changed the name either, because it is exactly the same menu, setup, and staff, albeit with slightly higher prices now.

A cross between Roti and I Dream Of Falafel. There is that same "assembly line" dynamic that has become commonplace thanks to Chipotle. Falafel plate. Hummus. Baba ganoush. Rice. It was all good and quick, and I mean every word of it. To keep from holding up the queue, I ordered in a rush fashion and didn't get to see if there was anything on the board that made the restaurant more Greek than just catch-all Mediterranean. And the take-away offerings were smaller than the dine-in plates I saw other customers with. Nice service. Reasonable price. Good taste, although the hummus and baba ganoush were runny. Will have to try again at a later date. The restaurant seems very, very new and needs to settle for a few months.

Med Kitchen is now Greek (GRK) Kitchen. It's not a new place, it's been "re-branded". The food is pretty much the same with a couple small menu changes/additions. This place puts down a pretty good product, but it isn't quite at the level of Roti or Naf Naf in my opinion, which are both within a block of here. I stopped in here most recently because they were giving away free pita sandwiches for the re-launch, and to see if anything is markedly different. The meat has good flavor and they have more options than most places which is pretty sweet. No one else has spicy feta, which is awesome! The rice could have some more spice and pop in my opinion. One thing I'd recommend/comment on is that I'm not a fan of all the little extra charges. I like when I know what I'm paying for up front without needing to worry about paying extra for add-on's, like that spicy feta that's soo good. There are definitely worse places to eat at in the loop and if you're looking for solid-tasty gyro meat, this is your place for sure. The owner responded to my original comments surrounding the re-branding. He explained that it's not a sneaky move to revive the restaurant, or anything like that. They were awarded a space in Northwestern Hospital and it was suggested that the "Med" could be confused with Medical, so they relaunched with a new name. The other menu changes could be worth exploring, so I'll probably stop back to give GRK another go.

I ordered delivery to our office for 13 people. We had our order in by 10 for an 11:30 delivery- food arrived early at about 11:10. GRK is only two blocks away from us but it was basically 0 degrees outside...nice to have delivery for an option. 4 stars given the overwhelmingly positive reaction for the office. Even the pickiest eaters were satisfied- GRK has a ton of customizable items and they got our entire order correct! They were great about separating and labeling each person's order so there wouldn't be any confusion. If you do an online order on Zuppler and register, you get 10% off your first order. Not a lot for one person- but pretty substantial for the whole office!

I come here at least once a week for lunch. You can't beat this place. I usually get the chicken kabob plate with rice, hummus and tomatoes. It is delicious and pretty cheap. I get a small glass of water and I usually don't refill it. I feel you get a lot with the plates for your buck. The staff is very friendly. There is not a lot of options but the food is so good. Gyros platter is also pretty good, want to try the salads one day. It's super quick and super tasty. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the loop.

Omg this place is super awesome. it's perfect for lunch, and its super clean and has great food. We tried the gyros platter and the chicken kebob platter. Both are delicious, I loved the tzatziki sauce and the orzo pasta. The hummus was rather a let down, but they have a killer orangini drink that comes in a cool bottle that I like. Im going to use the bottle to make a vase for flowers. The place doesn't have a great ambience, but it has high cielings, is super clean, and the staff is helpful. They even made us fresh falafels which were super delish. The 2 platters were $20 and fed three people. Reason enough for me to come back. See you soon Med Kitchen~

I'm a huge fan of the Loop's OTHER Mediterranean go-to lunch spot (Roti!) so I was hesitant to give Med Kitch' a try just because I was fearful it wouldn't be as good as its competitor. As soon as I noticed not half as many toppings resided behind the counter a la Roti, my heart sank a little. One bite into my rotisserie chicken plate, though, and my heart fluttered like a tiny hummingbird. Med Kitchen might not have as many options as Roti, but what it has is good and that's all that matters. I have to disagree with the Yelpers who say the food is bland - my entire plate overflowth with spices, garlic and tasty-ness. The biggest bummer is the prices, though. $10 for 'fast food' is a few steps above what I'd like to pay for lunch. $8 would be awesome. But whatever. I'll still go back.

  • Kyle D.

Med Kitchen offers a healthy lunch/dinner alternative with fresh foods and great taste. It's a build your own meal kind of joint, with options of sandwiches (pitas), salads, or 'plates'. The choices are authentic for Mediterranean cuisine and there are a ton of options. Sure its not the most amazing Greek food, but it's a good substitute. I went here with a friend for lunch and we both enjoyed our meals. Service was fast and friendly, but it was very 'in your face' and 'hurry up and order' once you got to the cooks. Nothing special about the restaurant decor, but overall it was a good lunch. Atmosphere: 6/10 Service: 7.5/10 Food: 8/10

Dine in for larger portions. Hands-down the tastiest place in the area. The Rotisserie Chicken and Greek Salad are awesome.

The food here is generally good. I have been coming here since it was Med Kitchen. Today, went for my normal, yummy Greek Salad. Paid my $7.18 and got back to my office and could not believe how SMALL that salad is now. The bowls have gotten smaller and they are filled barely half way. This is not worth the money anymore.

  • Emily F.

I would give this place a 5+ stars for their salads alone. Fresh, delicious, great options to pick from and their meat is also A+. Sadly, there are other things wrong that take it right down to the 3 stars. To start... their hummus is terrible! I mean seriously, its a place that probably 2 out of 3 people add hummus to their entree and it is horrible. It tastes lemony or something. I've tried it twice and trashed it both times because I couldn't bare to eat any more. Honestly, I think all their side items are missing the mark (grape leaves are ehh, chip options, fries, ect). Price. Again, the salad is amazing, but for almost $9 without a drink or any side items, seriously? I keep going back because their salads are my fave but it feels like I should probably cut it down to once a week at that price. The management. The one ( I'm pretty sure he is the manager) guy is a total jerk. He has been rude with me many times and you would think being that my office is right next door and my boss and I go literally at least 3 times a week, they would throw us a smile, a hello, or MAYBE even remember us! The guys on the line are smiley and helpful but I have to wonder how they are treated. Sorry GRK, I'm going to have to break my habit and try Roti more often.

  • Kailin L.

Salads and fillings are fine, but they charge extra for extra veggies! This seems pretty not okay, considering that my greek salad literally had 4 slices of tomato and 4 olives. It's Roti or my new favorite, BenjYehuda, for me from now on.

My office has had food from Med Kitchen brought in for several office functions and I have enjoyed the food every single time. For our last function, we ordered the Greek salad, chicken, falafel, pita bread and hummus. The Greek salad is wonderful and has a good dressing and big chunks of Feta cheese. The chicken is seasoned perfectly and cut nicely as well and makes a great filler for the pita bread. I'm a big falafel fan and these falafels do not disappoint. They have a perfect crispy outside and the filing is delicious as well. Overall, totally worth having it catered to your office for any office function.

  • George K.

Being a fellow Greek I had to try it. I wasn't expecting it to be like my grandmas cooking but I must say I found the food meaning the flavors to be mediocre at best. I found it extremely confusing to order. You order handheld or plate but then you skip a whole load of veggies that are for I guess salads only but look way better than what's going on your "handheld" I thought the Greek fries had good flavor but I would have like to get feta in every bite not just a couple. And the soup was very lemony and watery. I know it's a lemon flavored soup but wow. I like the concept but I feel like they aren't reaching their full potential. I'd call it slight step above Mediterranean olive in lincoln park.

    (2)
  • Eleni B.

Greek fast casual...what a fantastic concept. The steak wasn't seasoned very well, but the sauces made up for it. Their hummus was just ok. But the gyros was quit good. Would go again.

  • Rachel L.

Meh. It was ok. Neither my lunch companion nor I were particularly impressed. I thought the chicken (rotisserie) was dry. He thought his portion was small. It would be nice to have an option with no grains whatsoever for those of us avoiding them. I also thought that they were a bit disorganized at the counter, and one guy stood half way down the line and kept yelling questions at me, which I couldn't hear.

I went here for lunch on 12-31-2012. I got a Rotisserie Chicken Plate. It tasted like the chicken was cooked in a vat of oil. Easily the oiliest meal I have ever had. Normally this place is quite good. Naf Naf just down the street is better. But it was closed today.

Another great lunch spot in the Loop! I was actually walking to another restaurant when I discovered GRK. The restaurant had great curb appeal, so I decided to give it a shot. I tried the white bean tomato soup and lamb on a wheat pita. The soup was flavorful and a perfect way to warm up on a chilly day. The lamb pita, which I had them load up with all of the possible toppings, was filling and delicious. I left GRK full and feeling as if I made a somewhat healthy choice. I'll be back for sure.

Really wanted a steak wrap, but for $1.50 more, I wasn't willing to pay close to $9... maybe when I feel more indulgent. Tried the gyro's instead, with everything on the classic pita. Pita is toasted lightly, giving it a toothsome chew. Thinly sliced pickles, along with some of the nice slaw mixture, some tzazki sauce, olives, thinly sliced onions topped of the food. Fresh veggies and tasty. The gyro meat was already pre sliced and pulled from a prep container. Was seasoned nicely, and while not perfectly tender, wasn't overcooked either. Just under $7 for a pretty filling gyro sandwich... Tasty, fast, and enjoyable, but from a price standpoint, Greektown offers much more and more tender gyro meat for the same price. Verdict: Enjoyable, fast, and fresh veggie ingredients are wins here. The price, unfortunately, is in line with Chicago food... slightly over priced likely due to rent at the location. I'd go back to try some other items in the future.

I ordered delivery for the first time for GRK Kitchen. Let's just say I was disappointed. I usually go to the brick and mortar location at Washington and Wells, but had to order in because of work. I ordered extra lamb and I barely got a real portion. Not to mention I barely got any hummus or tomatoes and cucumber in addition. Stay away from ordering delivery. It is clear they don't care about those orders.

For a downtown lunch spot, Med Kitchen is a pretty safe bet. I usually always go with the Greek salad with chicken kabob as my meat option. I get it so often I usually don't have to order, as the staff know what I like. I also appreciate that the salad comes with a warm pita to soak up all the vinaigrette dressing at the end. The reason this is not 5 stars is that the line during the lunch rush tends to reach to the door and the ordering line is a little chaotic. I think if this could be worked out, it would be my everyday spot. Can't go wrong with Med Kitchen!

Bad day at the Med Kitchen. Offered up by a trade association as one of 8 neighborhood spots, we chose poorly. Ordered the Chicken Roti Wrap. The wrap was old and hard along the edges The chicken was chunky, overcooked and dry. I expected it to be thinly sliced and juicy as I saw the gyro style turning meat in the background. This meat was pre-sliced.. chunked, and sitting in a steam table pan. the cucumber, pickles, olives and sauce were good... but overwhelmed by the two main ingredients noted above. I stopped by their website this morning to send a note but the contact page offers only a fax number.. no email... they don't seem to want to hear from people. There are loads of fine , inexpensive , eateries in the neighborhood. This is not one you need to try. This marks my first BAD review.

Med Kitchen is a great place for a hearty lunch. They serve authentic Mediterranean cuisine and it is consistently fresh and delicious. My favorite is their Platter with chicken kebobs, orzo, mixture of cucumber and tomato, salad, hummus and any other sauce, and it always comes with their pita bread. The platter is around $8 which is average in the neighborhood. Their orzo, kebobs, and falafels are the bright points at this place. I personally like their pita bread because it is very soft and not crunchy. A must try, but be warned they don't skimp on the serving size and you may find yourself sleepy at your desk after eating it all.

Is it just me or are Mediterranean places spreading like wildfire in the loop? I'm definitely not complaining! But I digress... So, I ate lunch at Med Kitchen today. I'm hooked. This is fresh, tasty, affordable Mediterranean food that definitely puts the Roti Grills of the world to shame. I ate the falafel pita filled with tomatoes, lettuce, feta, hummus, tzatziki, and spicy sauce. OMG. That is one legit falafel sandwich!! (I'm not going to lie... I was skeptical of falafel at a Greek joint.) I've already planned my order for my next visit (likely in a few days): chicken kabob plate.... avgolemono soup... Mmmmm.

Went here for lunch around 1pm. The space is huge with plenty of seating, which is nice because it can be hard to find a seat in the area at lunchtime. The service was fast and efficient. We walked in (no line), ordered, paid and sat down within 3 minutes. Nice! The food is very good. Eat-a-Pita this is not. There is plenty to choose from, and the portions are huge. I had the chicken kabob on pita with tomatoes, cucumbers, feta and tzatziki. Very filling, and only $6 +tax! It's a great deal for lunch. I will be back.

My loyalty and business just went elsewhere. I just called to order a single item for pick-up (which I have done dozens of times in the past) and was told that they were too busy to take my order and that I needed to come in and wait in line. A blatant profit over people attitude is a bad motto for a company and for it's owner. How hard is it to write down an order and make it.

Had lunch here, was good but not great. The gyro was OK, but not particularly distingushed- the meat was bland, but not bad. Also had a side of hummus, which was good but did not come with nearly enough pita- I finished it all before even a quarter of the hummus was gone.

It's nice to have a great Mediterranean place on this end of the Loop! Unfortunately they do not have wi-fi and their hours a bit limited, but a good option when they're open and you're hungry!

Chicken Kabob! Yes, I love coming here to have chicken kabob. One plate costs $7.25 and comes with two giant skewers of chicken kabob that's right off the grill. With your plate you get rice or pasta and some pita bread. I added some tahini sauce and loaded it up with some onions and veggies for a delightful snack. Lines at Med Kitchen are reasonable and the place is very clean - reminds me of the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. There is plenty of room and you won't find yourself too crowded even during lunch time. Try the chicken kabob and enjoy!

OK, ignore the first reviewer. They are clearly employed by the restaurant. I had lunch at Med Kitchen today. I got there at 1pm and there was no line. I ordered the Steak Pita and a side of falafel ($10.59 includes tax). The Steak sandwich was actually generously piled high with thick cuts of somewhat greasy meat. The toppings were a little skimpy however and the pita was more of a greasy flat bread. But it was a filling sandwich. The falalfel, with side of Tahina (i think) was pretty bad. It wasn't "Roti" bad, but it was pretty tasteless. And at $3.50, it was a total rip-off. Go to Taza if you are looking for a decent Falafel. My Falafel were cold also. Falafel should be eaten hot and fresh, or not at all. The place was very clean (big plus) and the people were nice, but I don't think I would rush back. I will go back at some point, but I won't go out of my way. Place deserves 2.5 stars but I'm going 2 because of the bull$hit first rating.

Not nearly as great as Roti. Their salads are fresh and taste pretty great - as long as you order a pre-made salad off the menu. I made the mistake of thinking this was like Roti were you can choose a handheld, plate or salad. I got a salad with feta, olives, tomatoes and 3 falafel and my total was almost $10. The pita bread is awful. The falafel has a crunchy outside and the inside is dry - very odd texture. There are better Greek places in the Loop with better quality food and prices.

Oh, Med Kitchen...what would I do without you. You aren't the very very best Greek I've ever had, but you are fast, reliable, delicious, and ever so convenient! Seriously, how can you go wrong with good Greek quickly? This place gets super busy at lunch but the line moves pretty fast. You get the choice between salads, wraps, or plates. I usually opt for the plate because it includes your choice of a main meat (anything chicken or gyro is a guaranteed win) or dish (falafel and spinach pie!) a pita (white or whole wheat all nice and warm), rice or orzo pasta (get the orzo!!), tomato and cucumber salad with your choice of greek toppings, and then you get to pick between hummus or baba ganoush and then pick another sauce for your meat. Its not way too much food, and its all really fresh and appears to be fairly healthy depending on what you choose. They have yummy sides of stuff in the case, soups, and fountain soda or bottled choices. All in all, its a very solid choice if you are jonesing for some quality Greek/Med style food that is affordable and are in the Loop M-F from lunch to 8pm. Go there now!!

Simply said, this place has great Mediterranean food. Tasty, inexpensive, great environment and fantastic service! The "plate" entrees are very generous - I personally love the roasted veggies. Enjoy!

Overall great food. I like the variety of choices they offer. They have huge portion sizes which is always good in my book. The only negatives were mediocre falafel, and the decor feels very corporate. It's like a Mediterranean-themed Chipotle.

Hands down one of the best "greek salads" I've eaten for the taste, price and portion. I'm a Greek salad junkie and try it nearly anywhere I go, and this place had a nearly perfect salad topped with perfectly seasoned chicken kabobs pieces, accompanied with either a whole wheat or regular pita. I was a bit skeptical b/c I definitely am not a fan of Roti and love authentic Mediterranean cuisine, but I am definitely adding this to my list of regular go-to spots for lunch! Can't wait to try out more of the menu!

In a word, bland. Life's too short to eat bland food. Med Kitchen's arrival to the scene is like the mean younger brother to Roti. Only it's not as sexy. Everything had no flavor. The chicken, the rice, the feta cheese, the yogurt. Bland. All bland. How can you throw that much on a plate and not have any flavor? I went with a chicken kabob plate. Big mistake. I almost speared myself twice trying to get the damn chicken off the skewers. It's like they were glued on. These weren't very lunch friendly as I needed a mountain of napkins when I was done to clean up the mess I made. I'm not sure why they don't take the chicken off the skewers prior to serving. In the end the only thing I partially enjoyed was the pita bread. But Med Kitchen follows the basic rule for lunch success in the loop. Unfortunately, it's speed and delivery that make it shine. The flavors won't bring me back.

Hi The food is great but the attitude of the workers there makes it enough to not go back. I asked for different salad dressing and the guy slammed it down on the counter and yelled something. Even the guy standing next to me in line made a look like " are you serious".

Mediterranean fast-ish food. Their greek salad dressing is really good, and the portions are big. Reminds me a lot of Chipotle. I'd definitely go again.

1 star because I'm not sure which part of Greece forgot to teach you how to read (probably the illiterate part). We order via Seamless for lunch because we cannot leave our office during market hours. This is the third consecutive time the order was ass backwards despite the order being typed on the bag in clear English. 1. Four weeks ago, I asked for all the sauce and hummus on the side of my plate. Regardless, you dumped a gallon of ALL the sauces on my plate of chicken, steak and salad. Mmmm, hummus with a side of hummus. And some tzatziki to wash it down. 2. Two weeks ago, you raised the price of the orzo pasta salad to 2.95 when it was free for the last 3 years as an option from the rice. So I ordered the rice instead with my chicken, extra steak, and salad plate. Not only was there no steak, the chicken was only 1 order's worth, there was no salad, and the rice was just Uncle Ben's boiled brown rice. Last time I checked, Uncle Ben wasn't from the Mediterranean giving rice cooking tips to Spiros and Kostas in your kitchen. 3. Today, I ordered my standard chicken plate with extra steak with rice/salad side. Fortunately, on this strike you remembered the sauces on the side. But you forgot the steak. Again. But I got extra rice. Crisis averted. Out of the 15 orders we placed today, at least 5 were wrong (including, but not limited to, getting a sandwich instead of a plate, sauce on ALL the food, and forgotten items). Based on the food quality alone, 4 stars. But if you're ordering online, fuggeddaboudit. I won't be ordering online/phone because I'm pretty sure next time you're just going to send me some burgers from Wendy's. Unless I'm going into your restaurant and personally supervising the "chefs" as they mangle my order, I sure as shit won't be back. See you never dicknoses. Signed, Sleepless in Seattle

I decided to check out Med Kitchen at lunch today because I am about to give up meat for a couple of months and thought I could see how good their veggie options are as well as have some gyro meat before Lent. I liked this place enough but I agree that some of their food is quite bland. Like: the gyro meat. Although it seemed a bit dry (they don't slice it right off the revolving skewer thing even though they display it that way for show), it was quite tasty and not too fatty. Rice was fluffy and light, and seasoned well but not too salty. The ambiance/venue was as many described- like a Greek version of Chipotle. Sterile, fast food-like but clean and pleasant. Overall, I felt like this was a 'healthy' lunch alternative whether it was true or not. Dislike: everything else was rather bland. The cucumber/tomato salad had no apparent seasoning and it seemed dry. The hummus was probably the most bland I've ever had. The yogurt sauce was also bland. The bill came out to be $10+ with a drink. Not expensive, but not cheap for what it is. Still, I gave it 3 stars because there's nothing that objectionable about it and it's relatively close to my office so I'll try it again when I'm in the mood for something other than the usual (lunch) suspects.

Just when I thought I had tried all the Mediterranean joints around work, we had a late holiday lunch here. I got a plate of the greek sausages, but with a chicken kabob in addition to it along with the tomato and cucumber salad and orzo. Don't ask how I can eat so much food. Yep, I even had some baklava afterwards. The sauce options seemed limited and the spicy sauce was like the chinese seeded sauce that I add to some of my stir-fry dishes. I really want to come back and try the spinach pie and one of the wraps. I am a sauce and flavor person, so if that could be kicked up a notch I'd like it a little more.

Visited Med Kitchen for the first time today with my co-worker. I ordered a plate with steak. It is the worst experience I have ever had. The only topping options offered were orzo salad, Diced Tomatoes/Cucumbers, Hummus and chopped romaine (what happen to the crumbled feta, spicy feta, vinegar pickles, french fries, and baba ghanoush you mentioned on your website?!!!!) I asked for some spicy sauce and all I got is sauce look and taste like Sriracha. I looked at my place with 5 strips of steak and small scope of orzo and diced tomatoes - I could not stop laugh on how pathetic my lunch look. Most of all I can't believe we just paid $7.25 for that poor looking plate of food. How can you even call yourself HIP Mediterranean Food??!! I'm sure this will be our first and the last time visiting Med Kitchen. We'll be sure to share our experience with work and stick with ROTI. At least we'll walk out of Roti knowing they have give us enough topping option and good food option.

This is a great place for lunch if you don't want crappy stuff like McDonalds, or having to spend $20 on something decent. Med Kitchen falls right in the middle. Quick, easy, cheap and best of all - its good! You build you own sandwich and when i was there I had a sandwich with gyros meat, Diced Tomatoes & Cucumbers, Spicy Feta (Tirokafteri) and Hub's Tzatziki. My only complaint was that they put ALOT of tzatiki on my sandwich, which made it almost too rich. I ended up only eating half and bringing the rest home. The falafel is just ok, its kind of fluffy and sweet, which is not what you want in falafel. Skip it. I am definitely coming back here whenever I need lunch downtown.

Great fresh food - healthy salads or a roll up. So first you make that format choice, pick your fillings, add some toppings, maybe throw in some extras (fries, and more fillings) and you are good to go. When getting the salad we ask for it in a take out container (even when eating there) so you can add the dressing and close the top and shake it up - works every time! Plentiful, affordable, and delicious. So like there website says eatgrk! It's good - really good.

While the food was decent, the service was terrible. I placed an online order at 11:50 for pick up at 12:20. I walked into the restaurant at 12:15 and got yelled at by the manager because they hadn't yet received my order when I told them that I had ordered online. Now, I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure if I order online through your website, the fault is not mine. When they did make my food, it was sloppily thrown together, the spicy feta was scooped on top where it would sit in a clump, the spicy red sauce was thrown on so that there was none on one end and all of it on the other. The sausage was OK, the side of falafel I ordered was again, just OK, nothing really stood out. I was very excited to find a Greek restaurant just two blocks from my office, but nothing about my first experience made me feel a need or desire to return and try other things.

Yet another place to add to my lunch rotation! This place is kind of like the Chipotle of the Mediterranean Food world. You choose a sandwich or plate, a filling and then toppings. The steak is good, I like however they prepare it and whatever marinate that they use. It has a good flavor to it. I just wish they would chop it up a little instead of leaving it in large strips. It's not easy to eat those in a sandwich, I usually have to use a fork. You can have fries in your sandwich which I tried once. Not bad at all. I always go for olives (it's an addiction) and the lettuce is nice and fresh. Of the sauces I've only had the tzatziki and it's good. I tried the falafal and that's just ok. Not the best I've had but also not the worst. I want to try to dolmades... they're on my list. Since there are so many options I'll be sure to be back soon to sample the rest of the menu.

I tried this place for lunch and ordered a salad with falafel on it and they were so rushed that they put chicken on it instead. I told them that I wanted falafel, not chicken and rather than making me a new fresh salad, they half hazardly picked off some of the chicken, threw falafel on top and sent me on my way. I did not enjoy the salad, there was chicken all over it. I tried to complain but they were not kind or accommodating. The falafel is also no where as good as roti, I Dream of Falafel, or any of those places. Don't try it, not good and service is horrid.

I stopped in here the other day to grab some B-fast to go. A new b-fast place on my walk to work? Yay! I have to say, I was very happy with the taste of my feta, tomato and spinach egg wrap. I love that you are able to choose between the Lebanese bread and a pita, since pitas are generally too "bready" for me. My only complaint was that I wished there was more spinach on it. The prices were average for the area, and the employees were very friendly. I'll definitely be back!

Have you ever eaten in a place that was soooooo bad that you felt you had to give it another try......because it couldn't have actually been that bad. Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to Med Kitchen Med Kitchen is near where I work so I thought they might have amazing fresh pitas that would be stuffed full of fresh vegetables etc. Nope, welcome to the Loop buffet station where everything was cooked that morning - 3 hours before anyone orders it. I thought I could get a warm pita stuffed with fresh Chicken, mayo and fries and instead I got something that looked like King Kongs condom stuffed with cold fries cooked 30 minutes earlier. The Pita wasn't even warmed before putting any of the fillings into it. I ate less than half of it and threw out the rest. I went to Med Kitchen again today to see if it would be any better. I walked into the restaurant and it was completely empty. Walked to the counter to see all the food still left over from the lunch rush still in the famous buffet station. Old cold fries were still in the fryer basket so I turned and walked out. I really hope this place improves and gets the basics right.

First time I had eaten at a Mediterranean place here, and I was suprised that I liked it-But due to a new job I started eating at Roti-Today I decided to see which place was better and I have to say it's Roti- Pros' for Med Kitchen: Their steak is a bit better Rice is good Con's: Hummus has no taste at all Taziki (sp?) is not so good If you eat there the plate is so damn heavy Like I said, I had nothing negative about this place until I ate at Roti, which just has more flavor in all their food-

Grk Kitchen is a little better than Roti, but they are not very catering towards their customers. All of the plate protein options (except steak) are the same price - I asked for 1/2 vegetables and 1/2 pork and they refused to do this without charging me extra. Chipotle allows you to get 1/2 chicken 1/2 steak for no extra charge. So while Grk kitchen is ok in terms of taste, customer service (in my opinion) is #1 and they don't do a very good job at it.

I love Med Kitchen! I went there for the first time today with a friend for lunch and loved it! A nice addition to this area of the loop and much better than Haifa Cafe on Wells. I can't comment on everything, but I tried the Greek salad with chicken kabob on top. It was really yummy! The ingredients were fresh and the chicken was very flavorful and not dry like most kabobs are. The Greek dressing was good, but didn't blow me away. I would definitely have it again though. I really liked the layout of the place too, nice and big with ordering similar to chipotle. I enjoyed the atmosphere, tall ceilings, somewhat modern decor, nice music. A nice place to sit for lunch in the loop. I'll be back for sure!

Med Kitchen is pretty darn good. I ordered a gyro on wheat pita with tomatoes and cucumber, lettuce and feta cheese. I walked in so hungry that I could barely see straight so I totally forgot to get sauce, which was kind of a bummer but the sandwich was still really good and very filling. There's plenty of seating, and the line moves very quickly even during the lunch rush. I will definitely be going back very soon.

Wow. Med Kitchen is very good and will be giving Taza a run for its money. The pita is full of meat, great onions (great), and other veggies, and on top of that comes an amazing sauce. This all for under $8. I also like to do the weight test when I pickup lunch to-go. The test where you kind of feel the weight of your lunch bag and this bag weighed just trust. I'm not talking about the deceptive french frie type weight, I'm talking juicy, dense type weight.

The first impression of this place was great. I was very much reminded of a GREEK version of Chipotle to be quite frank. This is a good thing. I was very satisfied by the food that I ordered...Greek Sausage Wrap. I give them all the credit for their fast service and clean, interior. I will be coming back or more.

Great place and very good food indeed! Great, healthy menu, generous portions. What is most impressive to this place compared to others in the Loop is the friendly and efficient service, which makes the long lunch disappear before you have time to look at the latest updates on your smart-phone. Kudos!

The food is good, but the system used to serve it is not so good. The first thing that I noticed at this place was how confusing the menu structure is. Most places have simple lunches or dinners grouped so that you can go up to the counter, say what you want, and take care of a few details, and you are done. This is a greek Chipotle wannabe and, I am sad to say, if you can get over the system used to order the food, then you may like the place. For example, I wanted a Gyros sandwich - a fairly standard item in most greek places - and told the guy what I wanted. (The menu demands that you ask for a wrap or a plate - how am I supposed to know what is best for what I want without talking at length with them, and this is at a busy lunchtime) He did his best, but he was overgenerous on the veggies and miserly on the meat. Bottom line, I was confused and had to watch like a hawk since they were integrating phone orders with the in person orders and that made me nervous. (Ever go to a new place where you don't know what to order and then you end up getting someone else's order?) I had the hummus as a side and found it a bit runny - not having enough substance. Maybe I am being too harsh, but with Haifa Cafe around the corner and providing personalized service for exactly what I want, I probably will not return here. I also think the way they have their menu constructed is too confusing. You end up asking for something you think should be included but find it is a side and costs extra. I think they need to rethink this menu system. Harsh, but honest. I wanted to like it, but probably won't be back to try again.

To take advantage of the unusually warm day, my colleague and i decided to leave our east loop office and try somewhere further away from us for lunch. We are so glad to have tried Med coz the food was good and the price was reasonable We both had the lamb and beef (gyro), i had the sandwich (with tzatizki, crumbled feta, cucumber and tomatoes as toppings) and my colleague had the plate (with salad and rice pilaf). The food was good and the portion was huge. The place was clean and modern looking... quite like the chipotle layout. Good lunch spot, just wish its a little closer to our office but actually we didn't mind the stroll back just to walk off some of the calories! :)

Med Kitchen is really yummy, and well-priced. I work at Lyric Opera, and it is nice to have a tasty, quick and healthy option so nearby. The hummus is delish, as are the salads and kabobs. The Illy Coffee is also a plus. Give it a try!

This place is solid. I've literally had the same thing 4 times...not my usual style, but the pork on a wheat pita and choose your toppings is beautiful. I hit it up with hummus, tzatziki sauce, olives, onions, tomatoes and...whatever else grabs my eye at the time. Pretty filling but not too much, which is good for lunchtime. Cool vibe too - i like the art on the walls. The last time i was there the line was almost to the door, but we got through pretty quick.

Had pita & hummus, falafel and dolomades. Hummus was bland and they only gave me 1 pita for a large hummus. Worst dolomades ever - like hard bland tubes. Falafel was o.k. Overpriced to top it all off... Wouldn't go back.

There are about 4 Mediterranean places to choose from within 5 blocks of my office. I tried this place today with a group of coworkers and I absolutely loved it. My favorite part about it is their chicken...its awesome chicken! Its not like dry and boring but really moist and awesome flavor. I got the spinach salad with chicken and feta. Next time I pick to eat Mediterranean, i will most likely walk to this place again.

In addition to my last review, nothing has changed - it's still a great lunch option! I went again yesterday and got the chicken kabob plate. You get two kabobs, and I think it's a pretty good option for those that are looking for a protein filled meal. Just make sure to get there by 1145am if you want a table!

I eat Middle Eastern/Greek food often and I don't get what the hype is about Med Kitchen especially with Roti a block away. I got the chicken kabob wrap and it was dry chicken and too much bread. The sauces were okay and a bit more authentic than Roti's, but that was about the only saving grace. To top it off I was really exited to try french fries on my sandwich as a splurge and they didn't even have any cooked.

Food = 5 stars Price/value = 3 starts I tried the beef & lamb sandwich and it was VERY tasty. All ingredients (I added lettuce, tomato, onion, kalamata olives, tzatziki, and hot sauce) tasted fresh and the meat was flavorful and juicy. So, technically, my sandwich was a gyro. The problem I have with this place is that they don't use pitas which is weird since it is a Mediterranean eatery. They served my sandwich on flatbread and, while the bread was fresh and delicious, I would have preferred an opened pita (especially if I would have gotten a falafel sandwich). I also thought that the prices were a bit high for what you get. The sandwiches are small and cost about $7 - which does not include any sides or drink. Would be nice if they threw in some pita chips or a few falafel with it. For me, it was filling but a few of my coworkers complained it wasn't enough food. I will probably go back to try their plates and see if that's a better deal. Sidenote: I like the way their floor plan is set up. If the line gets long it doesn't clog up a the seating area.

I had the Greek Salad with chicken kebabs. Big portion, comparatively inexpensive and extremely delicious. The vegetables were fresh, the chicken was cooked/seasoned perfectly, the employees were friendly and it wasn't crowded.

Had a chicken sandwich and a chicken skewer, YUMMERS! It was reasonably priced and big, clean spacious seating area. An absolute must try for anyone in the neighborhood.

Obsessed. I eat here between 3-5 times/week for lunch. It's not cheap but it seems healthy and tastes great. They have a punch card so you can get a free lunch after purchasing 10. Try the chicken kabob anything. It's addicting. In fact I think they put crack in the food because I can't stop!

i don't want to judge med kitchen on hummus alone... so it gets two stars for being clean, airy and efficiently run. now about that hummus... it stinks! i'm vegan and hummus comprises about 50% of my diet, so i consider myself a chickpea/tahini mush connoisseur of sorts. and this just wasn't good... they obviously use canned garbanzos and don't rinse them, because the result is oddly fishy tasting. to add insult to injury, they don't peel the beans... the hummus was... clumpy. and i detected no tahini, no oil, no garlic or lemon. just pureed icky beans! hummus should be creamy and dreamy!!!

Fresh, fast, authentic and delicious. All perfect words to describe Med Kitchen. Their food has a Lebanese/Greek flair for those well-versed in Mediterranean cuisine... so it's a beautiful blend of simple spices for the meats (olive oil, garlic, touch of lemon), an array of fresh cut vegetables, a delicious orzo pasta (unfortunately for me I spend some time picking out the black olives), and a few sauces (tzatziki, hummus) to choose from. I recommend the lamb schawarma sandwich with a Lebanese wrap (oversized, thin pita)! Enjoy!

Very average. Standard Lebanese style quick food except that they incorporate some Greek choices such as Gyros. I had the spit fire chicken wrap. Chicken had decent flavor, definitely no fire as you would assume by the name. The choices of toppings were a little limited and not very tasty. They threw tzatziki on my wrap which I like but ordinarily would not put on this type of food (usually I would go with hummus). I also had a side order of fallafal. They were served at room temperature, were not crispy on the outside, the sauce it came with had no flavor and really just not that good. I would choose Roti all day over this for Mediterranean food but not a horrible option if you are near by.

I thought downtown was becoming over-saturated with Mediterranean joints but this was on my radar screen for a while. Instead of the typical Lebanese derivatives this place is actually Greek and is a spinoff of Hubs up on Lincoln Ave (the "you likea the juice, eh? place). Nothing grabbed me so I just threw "chicken plate" out there and they gave me a chicken schwarma type thing with some orzo and some taziki. I also bought a side of baba gannoush, which was actually huge and came with fresh grilled pita. Took it back to my office and the whole thing was very good. My favorite thing was the orzo and I also loved the baba g which isn't the most Greek thing in the universe. To cap it off the whole thing was $10 for a very large, tasty meal, with leftovers.

DELICIOUS! So happy this place opened up recently. Fresh and good portions, and reasonably priced. I come here regularly.

This place is good...really good! I have basically tried a variety of their food items. This spinach pie was good. The meat reminds me of gyros in Greece...and the sauces are amazing! I pretty much get everything I want when I come here. By the way, I am loving the Greek-inspired art work on the walls!

The best lunch spot in the loop. we order from this place almost every week and it never fails us. The only advice I'd give is get there early because this place gets packed. its so good that I often crave it on the weekend.

I joined Yelp to let the world know how amazing this place is. So delicious - huge portions. The quality of the food is ridiculously amazing, highest grade, and for about the same price as a sandwich around the Loop. It's fast, and just the perfect place. GO!

Tasty falafel. They run a mint at lunchtime. A good place when you are hungry, as the portions are LARGE. Newbs never fear, the people speak english and will help you on your quest. An office favorite.

OK, this was my 2nd time at Med and this time I fared a little better. I got steak this time and it was delish! It more than made up for the bland/greasy gyro meat from earlier in the week. I avoided the hummus this time, which improved my whole experience here. Instead I tried the spicy feta, which was also good. Since I had to choose a side dish, I chose the Greek yogurt instead of hummus....meh. I think the yogurt was OK, I'm just not a fan of super tangy, plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt (I know it good for you, blah, blah, blah). Even though the steak was really good, I still can't go about 2 stars because: a) their rice is mediocre at best, how about switching to basmati rice with some stronger seasoning b) no tabbouleh c) no tabbouleh! (why would you feature baba ganoush and not tabbouleh?) d) their pita bread is just not right. it seems dumbed down and buttered up for mass consumption e) that bad hummus! f) tomato and cucumber salad needs more spices and vinegar g) I'm not sure I'll be back after I use my last coupon, even though this is very close to my office

Even with the over saturation of Mediterranean places in the Loop... I LOVE Med Kitchen. If it didn't have an assembly line and plastic trays I would of never guessed it was considered "fast" food. I have the luxury of it being across the street, and my friend Kate and I had a real quick dinner after work. Yum Yum Yum! Basically loaded my plate to the point of a food coma plus a drink for $9. Thank you Med Kitchen. Thank you.

I'm a long time Hubs customer so you can imagine my excitement to find out that Med Kitchen was associated by Hubs. Working in the Loop your Gyros choices are somewhat limited, there is G&G, Maxes etc.. but none of them rank in the class of Hubs, Nicks, or Kings on NW side. Med Kitchen is a well thought out layout a good amount of seating, and very modern looking, if it wasn't for the seeing the owner of Hubs at the front of the order line I would have never placed it as Hubs 2.0. On a side note It was great seeing him he looks like he hasn't aged a day since I was in HS, which was a very long time ago lol. Ordering is like I Dream of Falafel, Chipotle, Potbelly, and any other well ran place. It was really fast to get through the food line and pay. The gyros meat was fresh, moist, thinly sliced, and very good tasting as to be expected from Hubs, it should be said that they were not shy with the meat either. A sandwich was packed with enough meat to fill me up and I usually eat a bit more than I should, no need for fries or sides with this its enough food. If you've been the Waste of Chicago picture a gyros from there with about 10x more meat. A previous reviewer said that Pita was not an option, I don't know when this has changed but they did have pita and it was good. My topping was spicy feta, which I've never had before and it took a great gyros to the next level. This makes me wonder where has this creamy / spicy goodness been all my life, why have I been deprived of such a perfect gyros topping. One of my co-workers is telling me to try the chicken, I don't know if I could set foot in there and order anything other than a gyros. I'm sure I'm missing out on some other great food but this gyros is making me question how much I like the mighty Kings Gyros. I'm going to have to start working out now because I sense a lot of gyros will be eaten this Summer.

I tried this place since Protein Bar was absolutely packed next door and attempted to eat somewhat healthy by choosing the Mediterranean salad with "low-fat" Italian dressing and chicken. Well turns out the "low-fat" Italian dressing has 27g of fat!!!! The regular fat Caesar and ranch dressings have 31g and 28g. It should be illegal to call something low-fat when its probably the unhealthiest Italian dressing I've ever had. Also, somehow the wheat pita is significantly worse for you than the white pita. All-in-all my meal which included 1/2 of the wheat pita was 1,160 calories, had 101g of fat and was 29 weight watcher points. By comparison, a McDonald's Big Mac and Large Fry is 1040 calories with 54g of fat and 22 WW points. Safe to say I will never be back.

This place is outstanding.....I was considering hopping on the bus and going to Greek Town as I was in the mood for a gyro....my co-worker told me about this place....so I figured I'd give it a try. (and I have since been back 2 more times within a week) Service is very friendly, the restaurant is super clean. The gyro I had, was amazing..you get the option of either a white or wheat pita, or a Lebanese wrap (I went with the traditional pita). I got the lamb/beef meat combo with cucumber & tomato, onion, tzatziki sauce, and spicy red....and got this for under $7, and that is tough to find in the loop My co-worker went with the chicken in a Lebanese wrap with a lot of the same toppings.....both of us could not stop raving about it for the last couple days.... And they have a frequent eater card.....buy 8 and the 9th is free.

Love this place great food and fast. If you think 10 dollars for lunch is too high in the loop then you should really bring your lunch to work. It's the loop for heaven's sake! I love the lamb and beef plate and the staff was really friendly and fast!

Love Med Kitchen, it might be my new favorite lunch place in the Loop! I got the Spinach Salad with Rotisserie Chicken and a side of hummus, and everything was extremely fresh and delicious. The service is fast and friendly, so you can run in and grab lunch to go if you are in hurry. They also have a patio area in the front. which is great on a nice summer day like today. I honestly could not ask for a better meal, at such a great price.

I stopped by the Med Kitchen for lunch today, and I was quite impressed with the food. They offered Mediterranean style dining (kabobs, hummus, Greek salad, etc), but what was cool was that they actually kept true to the Mediterranean theme - I noticed Piri Piri hot sauce on the table instead of Frank's Red Hot or Tabasco Sauce. I had the Beef and Lamb plate, which was excellent. I highly recommend getting the plate option. For $6.75, it also came with a salad that included feta, tomatoes, and cucumber, Mediterranean style rice, and a fresh pita (similar to what you would get with a Gyro). Definitely a solid bang for your buck. The place is new and clean, but what I liked best was that the line to order is separate from the dining area, so you can actually eat without people hovering over you. I have to say, with all the lunch spots available in the area, I will definitely be back again.

This place is kind of a disaster. I will try almost any place that has my beloved egg-lemon soup, which is what brought me here. So, here's what I wanted: a regular salad with falafel and hummus on it and a bowl of egg-lemon soup. Apparently that order was too complicated for this place. Here's what I got: a terrible greek salad, inedible egg-lemon soup and average falafel. The calm and patient employees at Roti and I Dream of Falafel never have an issue making me what I want (Med's employees are completely hyper), so I'm going to stick to those places.

Absolutely delicious. I've had the steak and chicken plate at least twice this week. Everything is seasoned so well. The staff is great. Can't wait to go back!

I work next door, so it's a convenient location for me. I thought it was a decent place. Large inside, and the prices are reasonable. You do get quite a lot of food, more than I usually eat especially at lunch time. I tried the gyros plate and the lamb/beef meat was good, the vegetables fresh, but I wasn't overly keen on the fluffy rice. The pita did seem a little unusual and 'buttery' as the other reviewer mentioned. I haven't tried the felafel, but I find it hard to believe it'd be as good as the stuff from Taza just up the street on Franklin which tastes very authentic. Still, Med Kitchen is a handy place for lunch and probably healthier than many other options nearby.
