Been going here for years. Still the best tasting baklawa in Chicago. Pick your favorite nut. Cashew for me. Also you must try the canned French feta cheese. Guaranteed you'll never buy any other feta again. I can't stop eating it even plain on crackers. For me also make outstanding hummus. If available, the cheese, filo triangles are incredible too. Must eat the same day. Much more great stuff.

Some of the best falafel on Kedzie in an unassuming storefront. The sweets and bakery are excellent and prices are really good. They also have a pretty good selection of middle eastern groceries in a second storefront. Owner was very helpful and friendly.

The guys who work there are awesome. Great, helpful customer service. I walked in to ask if they had any dairy-free cookies (I'm fasting so it's all about being vegan for me right now) and they looked at all their pastries and found one. Success. I took five, and as he rang me up I handed over my debit card but I guess he didn't want to charge it because it was only a dollar and I had no cash, so he gave me the cookies and said I could pay him back next time. Wow. Granted, I felt like crap, but boy was that nice of him. I'm definitely coming back next week to pay back that dollar. Oh, and the pastries I had were delicious. One of my new favorite bakeries for sure!

I went to Feyrous today because we are cooking Molukhia tonight! It is kind of like a stewed spinach dish but in English it's called Jews Mallow. Still the BEST FALAFEL in the City, Bulgarian feta, Labna (yogurt), Olives, Apricot and fig jam, Spinach pies, pita bread, orange blossom honey, and the pink bag of tea.

Friendly Palestinian Bakery with that small bakery feel. Wonderful selection of middle eastern sweets. I was looking for incense but actually needed the charcoal and found it here. I will be back to pick up more baklava.

I walked into this place because I had about 20 minutes to blow before my appointment. If you venture through the whole store, you'll find that they have a vast variety of Middle Eastern foods. The owner makes you feel at home. I was asking lots of questions because as we all know, we don't want to be confused for one ethnicity by a total stranger. You know, asking if you're Mexican if you are from a South American country or asking an Asian if they're Chinese. I went off on a tangent, just as you can in this place full of food and desserts. The Falafel sandwiches are so delish (I don't tend to say delish, brings out the girlie in me) and $2.05. The Baklava and other sweets are tremendous and I'm not a dessert guy either. I usually forgo the dessert for extra food during the actual meal. Btw, this is not a sit down cafe or a little bistro. Nope, just grab and go. You can even buy the Falafel balls by the pound. Enjoy!

i love this place. the dudes who run the place are super friendly. every time i go in there with my kid, he gets a free sesame cookie or falafel. i usually stop in here for some pickled turnips, harrissa, canned stuff, spices, tahini, or any other shit I'm looking for. everything is super cheap and authentic. they have amazing pastry selection and you can get a big tasty falafel sandwich for $2.50! where the fuck do you get such a deal like that? if you wanna make you're own falafels sandwiches at home, buy a dozen falafels for $3 and get a bag of pitas and homemade Jerusalem salad too! spinach pies or zattar bread is off the chain too. defiantly a little gem in albany park!

This small store disguises a pretty big selection. I'm not a huge sweets person, so I can't really speak for the pastries. But everything else is great and the prices are definitely cheap - $.99 pita bread, pre-cooked falafel ($2/doz), and a nice selection of canned foods.

Great Arab grocery - this one is good for baked goods and cookies! Has the usual array of semi-disorganized stuff jumbled together. Friendly and helpful owner.
