if you can't wait until the sunday morning maxwell street huitlacoche quesadillas, this is the place to go to appease the beast. and make sure to use both salsas.. bright green habanero and then a sesame flecked red sauce. they also have something i've never seen before. Montolay, otherwise known as Pansita de Chivo. This translates into goat belly, but my guess was that there was some liver and other assorted offal involved. anyways, it was great! here's a link that better explains what this slashfood.com/2007/05/14…

This place has great tasting food that's a little pricey. 4 dollars for a regular bottle of jarritos? Yeah. Ok. They over charged my sister's bill and refused to fix the problem. We also ordered an order to go while we we're still dining and the staff took forever to get our order ready. They must of forgotten because even after we finished eating our lunch, the quesadillas were still not ready. The place was not even busy. Seriously how long does it take to heat up some tortillas and melt some cheese? First and last time we're walking in here.

Seriously what it's up with these south side Mexican restaurants that keep over charging me?! This place has great food, a little pricey but I can tell why. Why 2 stars? Because my bill was $53.18, keep in mind that they charged me for an extra beverage and an extra side of beans that I did not order. When I asked the cashier, she said that the bill was wrong and was charging me 58.70. Confused because not only is it supposed to be less than 58.70 but now she was charging me more?? Confused, I politely asked her why it was more than it was, she didn't answer my question she just kept repeating my order. I looked at my bill and everything was on there but the price was not the same. I politely told her that the price she was charging me was wrong because on my bill clearly said 53.18. She kept ignoring what I was telling her and she just kept repeating my order. I did not asked you to repeat my order, I asked why was my bill different than the paper bill that was handed to me? Once again, she repeated my order a 3rd time. I finally gave up and told her to charge 15.00 on my debit card and that the rest was going to be paid in cash. She goes ahead and ignores me once again and decides to charge everything on my card!. This place has great food but clearly, it needs better staff. I guess the cashier girl did not liked the fact that I accused her for over charging me for stuff I did not order so she went and decided to over charge me more. This was the first time I came into this place and they messed with the wrong person. They lost my service and my family's. There's other Mexican restaurants in that neighborhood that won't do this to their customers.

Handmade sopes for 3.50 each! The al pastor on my sope was savory and grilled to a nice crisp. The taco con lengua was ok, not spectacular. Our final bill was spectacular: 13.50 for lunch for two (including 1 horchata and guacamole). Seriously great value.

Good carnitas tacos love the tortilla they use. But some of the waitress have an attitude. I always order a liquado and usually its good but sometimes they put no sugar, roo much sugar, no ice, or too much ice. Its is a bit pricey but its ok for to go once in a while.

I was very impressed by the quality of the food! I had a memelita de carne asada and a sope de rajas. Both were DELICIOUS! I ordered avocado on both and it was nice ripe and fresh. I get picky about paying for the cost of avocado only to receive it subpar - wasn't the case at this place. My fiancé had the carnitas dinner and everything that came with was also just as great. Complimentary salsas were nice and spicy! Service was great. The restaurant also has a full bar - pleasant surprise!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
