Got Lox & Bagel, but lost appetite when employees do not care. I got a nasty look when I asked my bagel 2 B toasted. My bagel was tossed like a toy. Not happy with the do-not-care-what-happens-in-the-world attitude of the 2 new guys.

Best on-campus coffee!!! (... ok, within the Top 3 coffees) I'm a BIG fan of the coffee here. Great motivator for my early morning classes. The egg white / asparagus / mushroom / Swiss cheese is my favorite breakfast sandwich! Worth the try. Also only "300 calories" (for the health conscious). The chocolate chip bagel with cream cheese is an addictive mid afternoon snack.

I have tried a variety of bagels and cream cheeses in this Einstein Bros. location over the last few months. I recommend Jalapeno Salsa (CAUTION: it is spicy) and think Onion & Chive is bearable. Everything else from Garden Vegetables to Salmon cream cheese flavors can be disgusting. In terms of actual bagel, the asiago, the plan, the everything, and the sourdough bagels are all pretty standard and do the job. Bagels are best when toasted, but their bagels are frequency less warm than the ideal. I would also recommend staying away from their overpriced bagel sandwiches. Service can be slow at times.

This place has many different types of bagels- blueberry, honey whole wheat, asiago, plain, everything, chocolate chip, sesame, etc. There are also bagel sandwiches- there are breakfast specials, lunch specials, and "thin" sandwiches that are supposed to be healthier. But the entire menu seems pretty healthy. I usually come here for breakfast because they are open at 7 am on weekdays. I like getting the Egg Wrap and the Maple Oatmeal Egg Sandwich, which seems like a seasonal menu item. The Egg Wrap is eggs, breakfast sausage, and some kind of spicy sauce all wrapped like a burrito. The Maple Sandwich is eggs, bacon, and cream cheese between a Maple bagel. It's delicious but I wish it had more bacon :P In fact, they should have a bacon sandwich on the menu because bacon is delicious. They both cost under $5 each. There are also a good variety of drinks, including various types of coffee. My favorite is the Hazelnut Coffee. It smells heavenly. It can get busy and crowded sometimes on weekdays when students stop by here to grab a meal and study between classes. Also, there is this really nice Asian lady who works here.

This place is inside the Reynolds Club on the University of Chicago campus. I often pop in for a mint tea and/or a snack to take off the winter chill so I don't shiver thru my radio show. No real complaints on the food, service or cleanliness, but - Seriously, and I've asked you this before - can we turn off the B96 twaddle on the radio and tune in the ACTUAL CAMPUS RADIO STATION?! It's at 88.5 FM, and is right upstairs, so you'd get great reception - and a LOT more ambiance, I dare say.

I stop in to get a bagel or some lemonade between classes in the morning. Bagels are good and the lemonade is strong which acts like caffeine for me, but honestly, the workers are giant, under the bridge-trolls and most of the time instead of having to deal with my food and card being thrown at me after i order, I'd rather just go somewhere else. The proximity and the limited amount of time i have makes it difficult to manage, but not having to deal with the rude employees makes it worth it. also, to the reviewer who said there's a nice Asian lady who works there, I've met this lady. unless they suddenly hired a new Asian lady who looks exactly like the other one, nice isn't exactly the word I'd use to describe her.

A good place to study - though it can be loud. There are also not enough outlets. Service is often slow. Egg sandwiches *may* be worth the wait. Sometimes. If you're willing to wait. The latte is horrible.

3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to pull the rating up a bit. The setting: bustling, noisy, college students in jammies rubbing shoulders with folks in lab coats and suits. A few coveted booths (really not enough), sometimes frustratingly taken up by a lone, brooding student with several sizeable books and a laptop. The rest, square tables for 2 that can be pushed together without complaint. The food: chewy bagels, egg sandwiches, pastries. I'm fond of their blueberry muffins - somewhere between freshly baked and the packaged ones from walgreen's. And hello, I can't believe no one else has mentioned the ONE DOLLAR MILKSHAKES on wednesdays?!?! It's only been a staple of this location for the past, I don't know, at least 10, maybe 20 years? Now they're not mindblowing, and they are a little small, somewhere between 8-10 ounces but they are tasty and lines go on and on for them. They are the perfect little warm weather treat for kids and adults alike, though you can get a wednesday shake any time of year. Do note that shakes are not available for any price any day other than wednesday. The coffee... meh, unremarkable. I would usually get a bagel with tea in the morning on my way to 130s. And my buddy Pearl and I would have shakes on our walk home frome HUM. For morning people, the hours disappoint, since they open at 7 during the week and 9 or 10 on the weekends. For you night people, it's open fairly late, till 11 every night.

I love this place. Too bad I am so lazy because I would go there much more often.....it's a solid 5 minute walk from my office: can you imagine?!?! I am hardly kidding: people in this university tend to not go more than 50 feet away from their hub and in that case, that's a shame. Of course it's a classic Einstein (the name has a particular echo here, site of the world's first man-made self-sustaining nuclear reaction. Yep!) with its classic bagels (and a tiny selection of muffins) but it's located in the lovely Reynolds Club. They offer $1 milk-shakes on Wednesdays (go fight for it!! the crowd is huge!!) and flavored coffee. Me likey......!!! If you can grab a booth for yourself, a friend and a computer you are almost in heaven - as close as it can get around there at least!

I'm here (C-shop, as it's known on campus) pretty much every other day. It's a great place to grab a quick snack or light lunch before classes. Their bagels are always fresh, chewy, and delicious, and they have a good selection of sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, salads, and bottled drinks too. It's usually bustling and filled with other students studying.

Service is slow. And by 'slow,' i mean 'slow in the head.' the staff speaks barely intelligible English and is clearly overwhelmed by the job, as illustrated by how they left every single self-serve coffee pot in the place empty and wouldn't refill them even after being informed. Their coffee sucks, their food is overpriced, and you can never help but feel cheated out of something precious every time you leave. Not recommended.
