Been meaning to review this place for a while :). By far the best chow mein noodles I've ever tasted....really hits the spot when I'm in the mood for some comfort chinese food. I'm drooling as I'm typing this! Their mongolian beef is the boy's favorite. All in all, tasty food, great portions, reasonable prices, and friendly people.

I grew up on this Chinese food! I almost always got the Mongolian beef (delicious) or their fried rice (pick one, they're all good) or their egg rolls (greasy but amazing) or their egg drop soup (mmm, hot and good). Obviously, this was prior to me knowing about any other Chinese dishes haha, but it's what I'm used to there so I haven't really tried anything else.. one of these days I'll expand my repetoire and try more dishes. They're quick, they're good, and they're so cheap! I just looked at their menu today and they have lunch specials that are (all?) under $5 and come with fried rice.. how do they make money?! I don't know but they've been here awhile and they're good.. check it out!

I'm convinced that this place is a sloppy operation - I got orange chicken and it just looked and tasted like extra burnt sugar sticks. The fried rice it came with was so black, I assume it was just swimming in soy sauce.

So I'm not biggest Chinese food fan. But this place is extremely tasty. The lady that took our order was really nice and she gave us coupon that we didn't ask for, super nice of her. I was impressed with the quality of the food as well. The location is kind of hard to find, if you don't know what you're looking for. But it's definitely worth trying.

I have read reviews on Dragon Boat and always meant to try it out. However, they have recently moved from their previous address near Belmont and Menard to near Belmont and Parkside (early 2013) and I fear the original reviews reflected the older location. The new location resides in what used to be a sushi restaurant. The food here is edible but lacking in flavor. I've had the fried shrimp appetizer and the shrimp fried rice as a carry out order, and the jumbo shrimp fried rice and kung pao shrimp when dining in. My first visit was carry out. The fried shrimp had too much batter and it tasted like it was fried in old oil. The shrimp and batter was tasteless but had plenty of grease to it. The shrimp fried rice looked edible and delicious, but, again, it was lacking flavor. I had to add soy sauce every so often to avoid my taste buds from getting bored. My second visit was dine in. The jumbo fried rice had more flavor than the regual probably due to the bell pepper that was added in. The jumbo shrimp lacked any flavor (again) and I proceeded to add soy sauce (once again). The shrimp kung pao wasn't spicy at all! The menu marked the shrimp kung pao as spicy, but it was severely missing. Once again, the shrimp lacked flavor. The sauce also lacked flavor (yes, more soy sauce). When I dined in, the water I received was room temperature instead of cold. The menu for dining in is different than for carry out. The dine in menu lacked most of the smaller size entree options and the dinner specials that are listed on the website's menu. Summary: The shrimp items that I've ordered lack any flavor. Expect to use soy sauce to add some life to your order. I was served room temperature water instead of water with ice that restaurants usually serve to customers. It seems like the dinner specials and small entree sizes are only for carry-out. Thus making it cheaper to do carry out than dine-in. I want to like Dragon Boat, but their shrimp dishes need more flavor.

The food in this place is great, especially Dragon boat delight and anything with Kung pao sauce. My family has been eating here for over 10 years and the food has not changed.

This has taken over the top spot as my #1 chinese joint in my hood. The prices are reasonable, the portions generous, and it tastes really good. You've got to try the Seafood fried rice. It has shrimp, scallops, and lobsta! Yes I said lobsta, and a generous portion as well, i'm not talking a carton of rice and 3 pieces all the way at the bottom. The mongolian chicken, sesame chicken, egg rolls, and crab rangoon are all top notch as well. The only thing keeping them from a 5 star review is the fact they don't offer General Tso's chicken. But overall if your in the area or live in the area., try this place, you wont be disappointed!

They must have been having a really off day! Our entire meal was super greasy. Our governors chicken was sweet but had no spice and the egg drop soup was absolutely flavorless. I am giving this 2 stars because I appreciate local businesses, but this place deserves an 'ewww gross.' I will never order from here again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly.
