Ordered delivery for lunch. Food we received was good. However, the service was just terrible. First, we ordered three lunch specials. Entree, appetizer, soup of the day. About 20 minutes later, we got a call from Circle that they had none of the appetizers we wanted. They didn't offer any replacements. Another hour goes by before food arrives. Delivery guy called me instead of ringing the very visible doorbell. He was rude and impatient on the phone. Downstairs, I found him knocking loudly on the delivery service garage door (wtf?). I signed the receipt and added a tip. He grabbed my wrist when I handed it back to him and yelled rudely "How much tip for me?" right into my face. I tried to explain that it was on the receipt -- and I had tipped him against my better judgment -- but he wouldn't listen. He just kept yelling about his tip. I just walked away- -- it was truly appalling. Finally, the food. What we got was tasty -- pad thai and panang curry. No appetizers. No soup of the day. Some lunch special! Terrible service. Would not order from them again.

A friend and I stopped by Circle Sushi and Grill, on the way to the Steppenwolf Theatre. Very nice inside, will gorgeous colors and bright lights. We decided to give it a try, based on the looks of the dishes the other customers were having. We ordered according to the names of the sushi: OMG roll, basically tuna with jalapeno and spicy mayo; Don't Make Me Cry roll, shrimp and tuna with a nice unagi sauce; and Fire Circle roll, deep-fried smomy salmon and tuna (of course!) and I think it was cream cheese. Give them all a try! Next time we'll go with the Godzilla!!

Really good sushi and Thai noodle dishes. Have already ordered there twice in a week. Sushi was better than most delivery spots, and the Mexican roll and spicy tuna rolls rock. They have a fat rice noodle pad Thai option which I love. Reasonable prices. Only reason I can't give them 5 stars is their menu options are more limited than many Asian restaurants that deliver.

Parking is a bit tricky, but with enough patience, you'll eventually find something. The owners are SOOOO nice and the decor is charming. The only thing I found annoying was that the lighting could have been brighter since it got a bit difficult to read the menu. Everything we ordered was great and I would definitely return and recommend!

Love this place! It's my go-to delivery. I haven't made it in the restaurant yet, but plan to. Their service is great! Love their teriyaki sauce - one of the best I've found.

Had a great time eating here! Excellent service. BYOB with no fees for uncorking. Sushi was very good, price about average for chicago. Their OMG roll was our favorite. Waitress gave free appetizer and dessert for table for no reason which was great. Very good ambience, will definitely return.

Came for Sunday lunch. Not busy. BYOB! Decor - Dimmer light. Modern. Clean. Had Maki rolls - quite good. Fresh!!!! Had Philly, Spicy Shrimp, Spicy Tuna, Chuncky salmon, Shrimp Tempura, Maxican. Only one I didn't care for was Maxican- needed a lil more flavor (maybe a spicy chipotle sauce). Service- she was great! Smiles and frequent - yet not overbearing. Parking was not the greatest but we did find a spot. Few theaters around here so would like to eat there before a show and check out the vibe then . Lastly - bathrooms - downstairs and super Clean!!!!!! So important.

Ordered grub hub. They give you fee crab ran gun with a certain minimum amount on your order which is awesome. But my sushi was horrible. Not fresh and it was gross.

I have done 2 take out orders and I have to say the food has NOT disappointed and ordered the same thing!! I don't like that they serve me in plastic containers with hot food with all of the damn chemicals but that's what all of the food take out places do! I ate their Thai Basil Fried Rice and Tofu Basil fried rice both EXCELLENT DISHES!!! Their spring rolls seem a little cheap in their ingredients and could do a better job in making sure its more higher end since they are charging me 5 dollars for this stuff! Overall, I will order it again! And I will actually go into their restaurant since I love their take out stuff!!! THE FOOD IS GREAT AND WILL ORDER AGAIN!!! Again improve on your spring rolls and you will get a 5stars from me!!!

I like this place. For what it is - which is a hole in the wall, cheap, sushi/Thai lunch spot - it's pretty great compared to other options in Chitown. First of all, it's almost always empty since most of their business seems to be conducted via delivery and take out. So if you're looking for a quick and quiet spot to grab lunch during the weekday and not have to wait on a table, this place is perfect. It's right off the red line, so I pretty much eat here whenever I have to venture in to Lincoln Park during lunch to run errands. Their lunch specials are pretty awesome. I've had their robata as well as their basil stir fry and both are reasonably priced, a ton of food, and pretty tasty. The stir fry is not oily at all, a light sauce with a lot of flavor and fresh veggies. The robata was PLENTIFUL. Huge skewers, rice, salad, soup...I definitely couldn't finish. I had their sushi once and that was also more than adequate. I'd say Circle probably does Thai a little bit better than they do sushi when you take in the value. There are other sushi places around where you can get better quality for the same price. But it has become one of my favorite Thai places around due to the lack of oilyness and a somewhat more natural Thai flavor instead of being overtaken with soy sauce. Side note: their tom yum soup is surprisingly one of the best ones I've had. packed with flavor and tons of vegetables. It comes with any of the Thai lunch specials and I highly recommend. Service is quick, and I can be in and out in 30 minutes easy. Also, they take Amex, which is rare for these types of places and a nice perk.

I've been here twice with friends and both times we were blown away by the delicious sushi! I highly recommend the OMG roll if you like spicy, and even just a plain salmon-avocado roll from there is so delicious. On top of being BYOB and having so many fresh, delicious roll options, they're also very reasonably priced. We went crazy on sushi and it was only $16/person! Definitely recommend this place, especially for a girls night out.

A real shame. Food is really good but the ridiculously inflexible attitude of the management is a reflection it seems of the service issues other reviewers note. Ordered from grubhub and took advantage of a coupon for a free egg roll for my order. got a call from the manager of the restaurant saying have it was impossible to make it a veggie egg roll even though it is the same price on menu. Argued with her back and for several minutes but she was a total ass and basically hold me chicken or nothing without any justification. horrible customer skills she should not be interacting with the public. Mentioned to her I will be taking it up on Yelp and she hung up on me. Real nice.

The food was excellent and the price was even better. It was nice to have a restaurant open late and not seem to rush the guests out. Even better they gave a free helping of shrimp egg rolls which delicious as well. Definitely recommend! (hint: the Fire Circle is to die for)

I think I am not far away from the delivery guy (who is always super friendly btw) greeting me on a first name basis, that's how much I've ordered from this place :) I really can't get enough of their curries and the pad thai is excellent as well. Honestly nothing I've tried has been bad or even close to it. They have always delivered food right within the specified time frame, most of the time they deliver it sooner than indicated. The Tom Yum soup is a really lovely blend of sweet and spicy and I seriously cannot get enough of the crab rangoon, so tasty! I have actually never dined-in so note that this is a delivery-review only. I am one completely satisfied costumer when it comes to Circle Sushi, and am so thrilled to have them join our neighborhood of local eats!

These guys occupied the old Mangia Roma spot; and trust me when I say this place has been totally transformed. Right away, you notice their bold selections of colors and eye for lighting. I recommend trying their tuna tar tarki appetizer, red rock roll and the beef bobata. Carry-out and delivery has its time and place, but this is the type of restaurant you bring a couple of bottles of wine with your friends in toe, and just relax.

I went here because my boss suggested it, and it's conveneintly located to work. I must say I was impressed, the decor was great, as well as the food. I had the Lunch Special; Pad See Ewe, with Shumai as an appetizer and their soup of the day. Technically the Lunch Special comes with an egg roll but when i asked if I could substitute the waitress said ok. After a delicious meal, I was even happy when I got my check under $8. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is the music is a little odd and doesn't go with the rest of the vibe. I'll definitely go again, next time I'm trying the sushi.

We ordered dinner a couple of weeks ago from Circle Sushi & Grill off Grubhub. We were really impressed by the quantity and quality of the sushi rolls. I can usually eat a LOT of sushi, and was stuffed after eating 2 rolls. My boyfriend isn't the biggest sushi fan, but he really enjoyed it also. The signature rolls are creative and all sound delicious. Prices seem pretty on part with other sushi places in the neighborhood. The delivery was by the expected delivery window, if not a little bit before. The woman ended up going to the house next door, but she was very sweet. I did try calling here to order take-out again on a weeknight on my way home, and had to call twice before someone finally picked up. Not necessarily a good sign about the service, but maybe they were just really busy. I'll definitely check it out and take advantage of the BYOB soon!

My fiancé and I are so excited this place just opened. We were hoping for a Thai/sushi place to open up in this area. We went for dinner tonight and were very satisfied. The restaurant was empty and only had a few pick up orders during our time there. Given the snow storm happening outside, we were not too surprised. The decor is really nice and they really paid attention to those small design details. Food did not disappoint. We shared the tuna tar taki appetizer that was a bit on the small size but so delicious and was served in a cute martini glass! We then opted for Thai dishes. The panang curry noodle dish was very flavorful and delicious, just a little too spicy. The pad kee mow (spelling?) was also tasty! Our server was so nice and gave us dessert and miso on the house which was very much appreciated!! We'll definitely return!

Well this place is a joke. I ordered the woosen pad thai, and some gyoza. It took over 2 hours for it to be delivered, not to mention the food was cold. Somehow I expected it to be good. This food was oily, and tasteless, a complete waste of my time and my money. This is not how Thai food is supposed to taste. When I called grub hub to complain about the delivery time (this was before my food had arrived), the manager of circle sushi called me, and in broken english said that my food should come soon, they were very busy in house. If I was a customer in house and it took over 2 hours to serve me dinner, it would't be acceptable. How is that an acceptable response, sorry it took us 2 hours, we were busy. Thanks for making your customer feel important. Bottom line - mediocre cold food at best, awful customer service.

My girlfriend and I recently moved only a block away from Circle and were excited to have a sushi spot so close. We have been three times for dinner, and each experience has been great. The staff is more than accommodating. On to the best part: the food. I like to rate a sushi restaurant on their tuna nigiri. Circle certainly does not disappoint. Their menu offers a variety of traditional and unique rolls along with other entrees such as curry and cashew chicken. Each dish is well presented and delicious! To top it off, they offer a complimentary piece of cheese cake at the end of the meal for a nice bite of desert before you leave. I will be a frequent patron of Circle!

I went here during lunch and got four different sushi rolls. Out of the four that I got, only one was half decent, the others tasted like very old materials were used. The ginger we received with the sushi was absolutely terrible to the point I had to spit it out. The only reason I give this place two stars is because their crab Rangoon was pretty good.

I've Grub-Hubbed this place so many times and I love it! Food is delicious and they give you a generous amount. My favorite thai place here in the city!!! I'll dine in here eventually...:)

Just ordered sushi delivery from here, along with some spicy miso soup. The food was fresh and tasted delicious, and the delivery was prompt. A little on the pricey side, but this is probably the best delivery (sushi) I have had in Chicago. Will definitely be ordering again.

Circle Sushi and Grill has some great food. The sushi and the Thai options are all delicious. I love the panang curry. It is fantastic! And so far all of the sushi rolls that I've tried have been good. So why the 2 star rating? I'm sorry, but I just can't get over how consistently awful the service is. I've had truly awful service when dining in and when ordering/picking up carry out orders. Circle Sushi has the rudest servers I have ever encountered, and service when dining in is incredibly slow. I've only dined in once. It would be an understatement to say I wasn't impressed with the service. The food was good, however, so I thought that getting carry out would be a good option to get a tasty meal while avoiding terrible service. I was wrong. Half the time, no one answers the phone. If someone does answer, then they are likely to hang up on you. Some portion of my carry out order has always been wrong, and they will argue with you if you point out their mistake. No, I'm not mistaken when I say I ordered chicken and not tofu. More than anything, I'm tired of being lectured and talked down to by the hostess or waitress. If you tell me my food will take 10-15 minutes, then don't lecture me about how late I am when I show up only 12 minutes after ordering. Don't lecture me about your credit card policy when I'm trying to pay with cash. Also, don't ask me if I plan on tipping or not as soon as I walk in the door. I'm sorry one of my co-workers never tips you, but I don't see how that is any of my business or my responsibility. Then there are things that are just annoying. Circle has some great lunch specials. According to their printed menu AND their online menu, the Thai lunch specials come with soup. Apparently that is only if you are dining in. If you are getting delivery or carry out, then you can't have soup, and no, the price doesn't change. Don't ask for a fork or napkins, because even if you do ask, you aren't getting any. Also, they are now charging extra for condiments in carry out and delivery orders (at least that is what I was told when I went to pick up my latest order, which will also be my last order), so that packet of soy sauce is going to cost you. Sorry, Circle Sushi, I don't care that you are super convenient to work and have some tasty sushi and Thai food. I just can't visit you anymore. I always walk out your doors feeling either annoyed or angry. Step up your customer service skills, please. Your food and prices are right, but you lack basic people skills.

This place blew me away. It's small and very simple but oh so yummy and their food art is just beautiful. The rolls were delicious. Love BYOB places. I tend to have more fun. Maybe it's cuz we have the mission to finish the bottle of wine lol. Definitely recommend this place. Go! Go! Go!

I really hate to write this review but it's necessary. When I first moved into the neighborhood, I thought I had found the holy grail. The sushi from Circle is fresh and delicious. They make their spicy rolls properly (full pieces of fish with the spicy mayo on top, not ground up mush that you're not sure is fish). On top of that, delivery was incredibly reliable. It would arrive often within 20-30 minutes of placing my order. And then something changed in the last few months. My friend was over and was feeling hungry. I recommended Circle to her. It took an hour and a half and some frustrating words on the phone to find out where her food was. I chalked it up to one bad experience. The food is so good! And I was ordering from them practically weekly. Then, one late night (around 8pm), I placed an order after a brutally long day at work. At 10pm, I went to bed hungry. After an awful discussion on the phone with a woman who at first told me "10 more minutes" and then "20 more minutes" and then said, "Do you want to cancel?" I was incredibly disappointed. That was about a month ago. Apparently, I'm a glutton for punishment because I placed another order today (a Saturday afternoon at 11:45am). The order said 30-45 minutes so at 45 minutes I called and asked the status. All I wanted to know was that my food was at least in the works - I'm not in a hurry today. The man on the phone didn't even ask me my name or address to look it up, all he said was "food takes 45 minutes to an hour." Well, okay. Fine. But it's been nearly an hour. Does that mean it's ready and just waiting to be delivered out? Then he asked if I want to cancel. I told him that I had no intention of canceling, I just wanted to find out the status. He put me on hold and came back and said the same thing - 45 minutes to an hour. Okay, I get it. 45 minutes to an hour. But it's been nearly an hour for me. So what does that mean for me?? Then he said, I have your record where you canceled your order last time. And I told him, yes, that's true. It took two hours and I was so disappointed but I loved their food and I wanted to give them another chance. This was their opportunity to not be jerks and get back into my good graces (good graces that ordered from them WEEKLY!). Then he said, it's with the delivery guy already. ....Wait, WHAT? Why didn't you just say that in the first place?! And then he wouldn't stop asking me if I wanted to cancel. (Clearly a language barrier here). If it was with the delivery guy, then why would I want to cancel #1 and #2 why did it take so darn long to tell me that it would only be 10 more minutes? It would have saved us both the headache! And quit asking me if I want to cancel my order - unless you're lying to me about my food being out for delivery, then I don't see why I can't wait! The frustration of this entire ordeal has become not worth the effort. They blew three chances and that's enough for me to call it quits. I'm going to savor and enjoy my last meal from Circle. I can't give them my business anymore. We had a great run. Best of luck. TL;DR Version: I used to order from Circle weekly. Their food is delicious. However, their customer service and delivery has gotten so ungodly awful, it's not worth the pain to try and eat their sushi rolls. I'm out.

Great little place near the North/Clybourn area. We didn't have much of a wait. The servers were attentive and knowledgable on the menu. We ordered a platter of sushi, chirashi, and a roll and everything was tasty and wonder. The prices were on par with other sushi place. Defintely check ou this place if you're in the area.

all asians know that "asian fusion" restaurants can't be great at everything on their menu. in this case, circle can't be phenomenal with both their thai AND japanese offerings. and they aren't. but that's not to say that their food isn't pretty freaking tasty. after that preamble, it's imperative you know that overall, their thai food easily trumps their japanese food, so stick with that. for the area, though..if you're seriously jonesing for some maki, it's not bad. just nothing to write home about. back to the point - the thai. and their LUNCH SPECIAL. every day from 1130a - 3p, you can get any of their noodle or rice dishes, a cup of soup, and an appetizer (usually crab rangoon, and theirs is GOOD) for $8.95. i eat a lot and i've always walked away with leftovers. if you're still hung up on the sushi, you can pick two rolls and get a miso soup for the same price. they also have robata grill lunch specials, which was clutch when i gave up meat for lent. PRO TIP:: if you get the pad kee mao, sub crispy noodles for the regular noodles. SO WORTH THAT EXTRA DOLLAR. the service can be a little faster, but they're all very cordial.

I love sushi. Usually I have an issue with the rice; the rice is either too dry or too much. Circle is not only BYOB but it is also exceptional sushi. I went here on a double date and I have never been so impressed with the quality of our sushi but also the presentation of our rolls. It was ridiculous. We ordered three decent sizes rolls and one special roll, all of which were amazing and devoted to the nines. We ordered salads, appetizers and with all of that are total came out to 63.45. This is a new hidden gem that needs to continue thriving. And it's BYOB!!! bring friends from out of town, go on a first new date or simply just enjoy the company of friends or family in a simple but quaint ambience with delicious foods and your own drinks.

I was optimistic about this place. I just moved to the area and was craving some sushi. Circle seemed to have decent reviews to I took a chance and ordered delivery. Not only did it take FOREVER, but when I called to see where it was the woman working did not speak English and was literally screaming into the phone at me. Once the food actually arrived I discovered the delivery man did not speak English either and could not figure out how to buzz into my apartment [not difficult]. He eventually made it to my door, but unfortunately both he AND the food reeked of cigarettes. I was hoping it would dissipate after he left, but no such luck. The food stunk to high heaven. The sushi was questionable looking, and after a few pieces I gave up and had a bowl of cereal. I know everyone has different experiences with restaurants, but I'm here to tell you that mine was NOT GOOD. May the odds be ever in your favor.

This place is new to the area, so maybe it needs some time to work out a few kinks. It is BYOB which is always nice and a great way to save a few bucks. I've done takeout a few times and some of the dishes (Tom Kar soup) are AMAZING. Others (like the gyoza) were clearly frozen and heated up. Sushi is okay -- rolls are on the smaller side for the prices. I'll probably come back as it's the one of two sushi options in this area.

What a great choice for our Thursday night dinner. Ordered the Fire Circle maki and OMG maki, this was probably the freshest maki I've ever had. I personally love the deep-fried maki rolls, the "fire circle" was probably was also one of the most delicious I've ever had!! Agedashi tofu was also good, and service was swift. We will definitely be back!

Great new spot under my friends apartment. BYOB and good for groups. Service was very friendly and they even gave us a few dishes for free including a discount on our total bill - very nice! Pad See Ewe was great. Comes with Chicken or Tofu (no Shrimp). Sushi rolls were great. One suggestion is to turn up the music a little bit. It was awkwardly quiet for a BYOB place on a Friday night. Will definitely be back.

Ordered from here through grubhub on a clear weeknight. The food arrived about 15 minutes late - not so bad! We ordered three rolls: Godzille maki, Salmon Lullaby Maki, and crunchy spicy tuna maki mono. The order came with a free order of crab rangoon, which is always nice. Godzilla maki was my favorite. My main issue with Circle Sushi, however, is that I notified them that I have an allergy to cilantro, and asked them to leave it off of the Salmon Lullaby roll - this notification was in bold. Unfortunately, the sushi roll came coated in cilantro, and I couldn't eat it. Also, the free crab rangoon was very cold, and there was no sauce included with it. While the sushi that I did eat was okay, it wasn't the most flavorful. Godzilla was by far the best of the three. Overall, I've had much worse sushi, but I've also had much better. Probably won't order again, because I know I can get better elsewhere. Oh well!

Yay, I'm a fan indeed! My friend and I went for a little exploration in her neighborhood and were pleasantly surprised. no wait (it was a Monday night) so they sat us right away. It's byob but we of course didn't indulge as it was a school night. Miso soups are free at this joint (with an order of course). We got edamame - not sure if you can screw up edamame but it was good. Then we ordered a Dragon roll with Salmon, OMG roll and Mexican (???) - the one with yellowtail and scallion. All of them very tasty but more so HUGE. Peggy and I usually kill 5 if not 6 rolls between the two of us...but turned out 3 was more than enough. The rolls are good - they put a lot of fish in them which I love and not a lot of other stuff "to kill the taste of fish". So I definitely appreciate that. Oh, did I mention they were huge?!? Yeah like 10 pieces per roll! Don't overorder. :) Service was great, food came out quick and so did the check. Circle is located next door to my favorite Mediterranean joint - Dawali. So location wise they did very well. Not sure how they are on weekends or whether or not they take reservations. I would definitely give it a go. It's not Jiro style fish by any means but it will definitely satisfy the sushi craving most of us experience (some more often than others) :) Cheers

Love it! Ordered delivery twice this week already, its very addicting. Delivery is fast and friendly. Sushi is excellent! I've tried the spider, spicy tuna, spicy salmon and shrimp tempura so far and liked them all! Would eventually like to try a specialty roll. Also a plus they gave me free crab rangoon without asking (yes I later saw the coupon for it if you order a certain amount, but most places just don't give it to you without you asking for it). Definitely going to be ordering from this place alot more!

A great BYOB sushi place for the neighborhood. Good quality for the prices and were definitely treated well with some Miso soups and green tea ice cream. This place will definitely become a go to spot for us

My husband and I went on a Saturday night at 6pm. There were many tables seated but not overly busy. The service was very good as was the food. Everything was fresh. We had a seawead salad, OMG roll and green curry with shrimp. The curry was spicy for sure Yum. BYOB so you know. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because they had the radio playing and we don't like listening to commercials.

Unbelievably good! I ordered the chicken teriyaki and crab rangoon for delivery. I expected some run-of-the-mill greasy Chinese food. What arrived was fantastic and fresh. Great strips of tender chicken, sticky and perfectly cooked white rice, crisp and creamy crab rangoon. I normally feel guilty after eating Chinese food, to be honest, but it tasted so good and was so well made that it felt like I had a decent meal instead of junk food.

This is a restaurant that is trying really hard but is just not getting it. Nothing we tried was very good, the sushi is covered in sweet sauces, totally Americanized. It seems to me that take out/delivery takes precedent. We won't be back.... And oh my goodness please change the high tempo techno as it just weird ...

Not bad...and local. We won't go there for takeout since Yuzu is about the same price with better sushi, but if we want to dine in, it's the new spot. They take reservations and they aren't that crowded...for now.

Bless this poor waitress' heart. We sat at our table for 25 min before even getting water. She was the only waitress in a restaurant that seats at least 50 on a Saturday night!!! What are the owners thinking? Also, there were no bussers or hosts, and only two Sushi chefs who seemed to be working unbelievably slowly. I had to leave the rest of my family after an hour and a half with food yet to arrive. The food is good, but not good enough to wait THAT long. Hope they get it together soon!

After reading all of the positive reviews I was excited to try this place out. I did not visit the location in person, but had it delivered. After the experience I would recommend dining in as the photos of the restaurant itself look appealing and it is BYOB which is always nice. However, speaking to the food that was ordered, I was very underwhelmed with the sushi. When it arrived it came in a small aluminum container and did not look appealing whatsoever. Beyond that, I was quite disappointed with the taste of the roll. Thankfully, the thai noodles that were ordered helped to salvage the experience. I would recommend dining in and sticking to the thai food on the menu if I were to try this place again.

This place is delicious. Great compromise between my husband and me because he can eat the Thai/Chinese style cuisine while I feast on sushi. The food is fresh and atmosphere is pleasant. My one complaint is there is one waitress who is a straight up unpleasant bitch. Seriously- it would kill her to smile and be polite. I asked her for a dish we order takeout from often and she said no, and that they can't do that. When I told her we order it out often, she still said no and basically walked away. Upon speaking with the other two incredibly friendly waitresses pleasant, I was told no problem and the dish was great as always.

Awesome delivery sushi. The prices are reasonable, the sushi is fresh, and the spicy rolls are actually spicy. They even throw in free egg rolls or crab ragoon :)

Very good food, decent prices ($2 healthy portion of one piece sashimi/nigiri). Great service (cheesy music). I'm excited to see another BYOB in the neighborhood!

This place is unreal! Excellent service, delicious food and great prices! We even got a complimentary app and tempura roll. I will definitely be back!

This place is AMAZING. It was 3 of us, we ordered fried spicy tuna for the appetizer. It was the good kick!! I love the sauce on top and the presentation. We also had the grilled scallop bacon and asparagus bacon. And the main course were yakisoba noodles and OMG maki. We love every dish. My only complain is yakisoba noodles was pretty dried and more likely they didn't put enough of sauce . Overall were great. Cozy, classy decoration and very reasonable price after all. Definitely come back again!!

Delicious! Really A+. Small staff and they work hard. I have nothing bad to say about it. (Well okay maybe a small complaint that the outer chairs are not quite a comfortable seat.)

Six of us went to dinner on Saturday night at Circle. Great addition to the neighborhood. The food was excellent. We started out with edamame, crab ragoon, shrimp shumai, and the fried spicy tuna which was a big hit. Two of our friends had soup as their main entree ( Tom Car and Tom Yum). The Spicy Basil with chicken which was delicious as was the cashew chicken. The OMG special maki is a must. There is a good assortment to choose from. BYOB is great. There is a sushi bar and table seating. The new interior is nice. Brighter and cleaner looking with a steel and brick mix. There was quite a bit of take out activity. Service was excellent. I would definitely go back and recommend this restaurant to others.

Great sushi with friendly service, other menu items were lacking. I ordered a Mexican Maki roll, it was fresh and spicy...perfect! The edamame was soggy so I would not recommend that. They threw in a free crab Rangoon which was decent. I would definitely order more sushi but skip the appetizers. Cheap delivery fee as well- only $2.

A group of us here for a friends birthday. The food was good but the service wasn't. Every time we needed anything, I felt like we were bothering our waitress. I would order food from here but wouldn't dine in again.

I had the "Rolling Rock" maki sans cucumber and a couple pieces of salmon sashimi; both were phenomenal. The unagi was probably the best I've had in Chicago to date: it felt clean, soft, and fresh. Not only was the food fantastic, the service was ABCD. Highly recommended.

I always saw this quaint little joint after it recently opened and finally walked in on a whim with a 12-pack of Sapporo. Place blew me away. The detail, on each roll, each plate wow'd me. The service was impeccable, food was outstanding. And the atmosphere... Best I've seen in the city. Great vibe with a mix of soft trance music. A boom, bam WINNER.

This new place has everything going for it. Proximity to north and clybourn, nice decor, great Thai, and affordable yummy sushi. The staff is very nice and even gave us free miso soup and green tea ice cream when we were dining in. They're very accommodating for byob too! I have also gotten takeout. I love the pad Thai with tofu and my picky boyfriend enjoyed the spicy basil with chicken. I am so happy that this place is in walking distance for us. Definitely try it out! Delivery is also great. We get the lunch special delivered to work and it is a good price for lots of food!

good spot that is not too far from my pad. the rolls were huge and had very little rice which is something I don't find often in the Chi. they have a cool modern/rustic vibe going on with some good tunes playing in the background. will definitely be coming back...

Poor Delivery Experience. Ordered one entree with vegetables and they made with chicken. The vegetarian in the room wasn't too happy. Ordered a hot tea and they delivered miso soup instead. Order was quoted at 10-30 minutes on Eat24 and took almost 70 minutes. Asked for forks, napkins and ginger but only received chopsticks. Hamachi was room temp+ by the time it was delivered. Food was good enough except warmish hamachi. Too bad as the delivery experience was so poor.

Great sushi & awesome prices! I order from here for lunch at least once a week. You can order online and they get it right every time. Today I requested spicy miso with my order and they took care of it for me and even gave a $1 discount (I didn't even ask for it!). Get the spicy shrimp & spicy scallop rolls!

We went here based on the four star reviews. Although we didn't quite have a for star experience. The food presentation and taste is great, however the service was lacking. 1. We got served our appetizers and it took us 5 mins to get the attention of our waitress so we can get plates and utensils so we could eat what's in front of us. 2. We don't eat beef and specifically ordered a rice dish that didn't have beef or pork. Guess what - the dish came with beef. We told our waitress and she checked the menu and took the dish back. We received no apologies. No nothing actually. It was a big deal for us but we choose not to make a scene. We just won't be going back there. Overall, the food we ate was good, the reason for 2 star is for the service.

This place has really gone downhill since my first stellar reviews! They stopped giving the free appetizers or desserts, which is fine - but was a nice little treat to look forward to. Most recently I ordered delivery including a salad (it's only 4 blocks away but I hurt my ankle- hence the laziness). I paid $3 delivery plus a $2 tip. When the driver arrived he demanded for me to come down my 2 flights of stairs and abruptly hung up before I could ask him to come up. When I went to open the package the salad was wilted and the lid was not secured, resulting in most of it spilling to the floor- being un-eatable. Def will not be offering delivery from here again

BYOB. Good value. Common dishes. Quality of dishes 'may' fluctuate depending on whose working in the kitchen and at the sushi bar. CUP OF SHRIMP TOM YUM ($5) -- 4 small shrimps. Perfect portion. Decent broth. I hate rough chop veggies and the Cook got lazy as 1-2 mushrooms were sliced and the rest are an entire button. SPIDER MAKI ($8) -- good price and portion. Invokes truth in stereotype that Thai-owned sushi establishments are always doused in sauce. VENUE -- clean, organized, dark romantic with thomping dance music. SERVICE -- eager, decent as long as you don't mind food check shove on table without checking for dessert. I look forward to $7 lunch specials and test my food quality tolerance.

A Friday night for dinner. Sushi was not fresh. Really below average. Poor service, bordering on rude. Seaweed salad was from a bag. Even the Miso soup was a disappointment. Avoid.

Went for Lunch on a Wednesday around noon, we were the only ones there. The hostess/waitress greeted us... although I think she was the owner. We asked to sit in a booth near the window, but she unobligingly retorted "no I don't feel like walking back and forth"... we sat and she gave us a menu. When she came back with the water, she quickly tried to scamper away but I had to stop her just to give her our appetizers order. She quickly turned and tried to jet again, and I had to stop her again to ask her for some sodas, again she was ready to bolt when I had to stop her to ask about the lunch specials. Which I am glad I did cause for $9.99 for 2 rolls (albeit slightly modest in size) and soup it was a steal despite the service up to this point. But the service was a nuisance, I mean just imagine every sentence or question someone is ready to run away... despite the restaurant being empty, not like she had anything to do! Ok so you get it... 1 star knocked off for service. Next up the food. The fried scallops we got as an appetizer came out in good time and was tasty, the batter was slightly heavy and slightly over fried imho. But was still good none the less and for 6-7$ for 5 medium sized scallops, not bad and id consider getting them again... that is if i ever returned (the price is the only tempting part... but i'd still rather spend another 20 bucks and feast at Yuzu's!). The waitress lady bussed our table in good order which I greatly appreciate and this was the case throughout the meal. Miso soup arrived soon after and it was pretty good. Shortly after, our sushi came: 2 negi hamachi rolls, spicy salmon roll, spicy scallops roll, and a bonus spider roll (which was not part of the lunch order special list of rolls). The seafood seemed fresh enough and was tasty, my issue that I take with the sushi in general was the seaweed seemed as if it was sitting out for a just a bit too long and may of been a tad bit too ripe. If you ever had old seaweed in any dish you would know it gets quite chewy and my jaw muscles got tired just eating this sushi. My last gripe with the sushi itself was with the spider roll, so thinly sliced that i could barely eat it with a fork as it was falling apart. I ordered this roll from the reviews I read on here and I have no clue what anyone is talking about as it was nothing special... at all. Ive saved the best for last.... the hair in our sauce that decorates the plate. Disgusting. But we just didn't dip anything in there so didn't ruin our experience but i probably would of lost my lunch had I found that in my mouth with some food. We got our check, which was only $40 (not including gratuity) for the 2 lunch specials (2 rolls + Miso Soup), Spider roll, and Fried scallops app. Not bad at all for sushi, but I just wouldn't go back. I rather spend an extra 20 bucks and goto Yuzu or Kai sushi. So in summation.. 1 star off for service 1.5 stars off for the food, but in this case I rounded down because they do not get the benefit of the doubt in my mind.

Great quick lunch for a reasonable price before a matinee show @ Steppenwolf Theater. The bacon wrapped asparagus is delicious!

I ordered from Circle Sushi & Grill through GrubHub tonight and was really impressed! The sushi was as fresh as it gets and delicious. Also had the Pad Woosnen (glass noodles with a plethora of fresh, perfectly cooked veggies, and egg which I ordered with the optional shrimp) which was delicious! It is not a spicy dish (I don't care for foods that are too spicy). The restaurant added tiny shrimp spring rolls for free which were yummy bites of crunchy goodness. I will definitely order from here again, and when the weather is better, will find my way to the restaurant!

The sushi was delicious!I would recommend the OMG roll or the dragon roll. The tune tar tarki appetizer was also awesome. The price of the sushi was very reasonable, as well. The service was a little slow, but the servers were very friendly. They even brought us dessert for free.
