I have no problem giving Chipotle, as a chain, a four or five star rating. They're quick, filling, and have increased their use of local ingredients. I have been to a few in Chicago and other cities and really have never been disappointed. When it comes to the one near DePaul, on Jackson, I want to pull my hair out. Anyway I always float in and out of phases in Chipotle: I'll be hooked on burritos for a bit, then bowls, sometimes the kids meal quesadilla (which is the best deal around), then finally the salad. Well, I'm currently in a salad phase thanks in part by that amazingly tangy, perfectly spicy dressing they have! When the Jimmy Johns next door told me they were out of sprouts, I went to Chipotle as a last ditch lunch option. I really wasn't in the mood for it, but when I walked and smelled the place I immediately wanted my salad. I waited in a line of about 5 people, which took about 10 minutes. Very rare for Chipotle, they are usually extremely quick. Now by this point I was already late for my 3:10 class. I finally got up to the front and asked for a salad. No lettuce: the guy looked in the lettuce bin, looked at me, looked in the bin again like it was going to magically appear and said he'd be right back. Two minutes later he appears with the same stupid look on his face waiting for the lettuce to fall from the sky or something. I told him it was ok, just give me the bowl, I was in a rush. I made sure to put emphasis on the rush. As I moved down the line, I got to the woman who could hardly speak English. Couldn't be too difficult, after all pointing is a universal language, right?! She gets the pico de gallo right, but when it came to the salsa, she dumped the wrong kind on it even after I started saying "no, no, no..." She stopped midway through, looked at me, looked at the bowl, looked at me again and went to dump it out and start over. At that point I started screaming that I was in a rush, just keep going, and she still tried dumping it out. I got nasty, "What don't you understand. I'm in a rush; I do not have time for this!" She finished up my bowl and of course the cashier is nowhere to be found. Could it get much worse? I doubt the lady making the bowl was able to work the register because I doubt she could even count so she shoved my bag in my hands and told me to leave. For my minuscule First World struggle, I could have paid. I mean, I am a drama queen and I love all eyes on me, so I'm sure I blew a lot of the horror out of proportion. The bowl was good, nothing special, but it did taste better free than anytime I had paid for it. I doubt I'll go back to this specific location, I understand having one dumb worker, but two? That's too much for city life. There's plenty of others in the area and I'd rather have to walk a bit further than have to deal with idiots.

Typical Chipotle. Nothing special to see here.

I ordered a carnitas burrito bowl and I had enough food to last 3 meals, which is a great contrast to some locations. Very friendly staff and everything was very fresh and flavorful. Plan to spend about $10 total if you want to add guacamole to your meal, and be prepared to stand in line if its the lunch hour rush. But don't let it scare you off, they move very quickly.

    Not my favorite Chipotle.

It's not a five because it's a fast food place, but it's as good as a fast food place can be. The line at lunch is huge, but they move you through like a well-oiled machine to the beat of some nice tunes. No matter how long the line is, I'm out in 15 minutes and the food is great! Compared with other Chipotles, the service is great, too. They work fast, but take the time to make it right, so you don't have all the salsa in one spot, or a torn tortilla with everything spilling out. And they don't skimp on the portions. At least not in any obvious way. Sooooo good. My favorite lunch in the loop.

If you are a big fan of mexican food don't get your hopes up because this is NOT MEXICAN food But the mild salsa and guacomole are ok

I can't get enough of this place! It's my go-to lunch spot even though my lunch buddies can't handle the spice that many times a month. I constantly crave my fave - the steak burrito bowl with black beans! All the goodness of a burrito, but easier to eat and more like a salad. I love piling on the mild, medium AND corn salsas...makes for a yummy taco salad! I grew up on TexMex and Chipotle is on par for good Mexican... "authentic" has many variations. What I love just as much as the food here is that they always have freshly brewed iced tea and freshly cut lemons and limes to go with...a rare treat! I love you Chipotle.

"Deliberate" portions in the city! Okay, I love Chipotle. I frequent the one in Arlington Heights frequently (with frequentish abandon?). But, this location, and the location on Harrison are very careful about the amount of each ingredient they provide. I usually get a steak fajita bowl to go. I don't know why, in the city, they bother putting the domed aluminum top on. The servings are level with the edges of the bowl. The food is really good. But, if you want more of it, head for the 'burbs!

  • Lee C.

Yes, it's fast food, but they use quality meat. My major complaint was always that they give you too much food, but then I learned that you can get smaller orders if you ask -- two soft tacos is plenty for me. I like steak with pinto beans, salsa, corn and lettuce.

I love Chipotle!!! I've eaten at several across the US and I love them all. The burritos are the size of my head and I'm always satisfied. I know they're not "real Mexican food" but they are great comfort food. Plus, they didn't even blink when I asked for all 4 salsas, and they didn't rip the tortilla, which means a lot to me.

  • Eddie O.

What did i do before Chipotle existed? I have at least 2 meals here a week and would eat here even more if I didn't know these burritos were so unhealthy. The lines are always long, but that's just because everyone is aware that Chipotle has the best burritos.

This is by far one of the most efficient Chipotles that I think I've been to. With what seemed like a never ending line out the door during the weekday lunch, the crew seemed to breeze through the line. Like all other Chipotles, this one offers a cheap and pretty safe gluten free dining option in downtown Chicago. Like always, if you have an allergy, make sure you alert the crew, so that they can make the necessary adjustments to accommodate the preparation of your meal.

We ate here during Lollapalooza (during the evacuation) so it was definitely more crowded than normal. However, the staff were very kind, they continued to keep the place clean and were able to get through the line pretty quickly. The place is pretty small but it is in a very convenience location. Decent place to stop and get your Chipotle fix!

First time ever trying Chipotle and I can say that Hawaii, we are not missing out on anything! Chipotle is well-known for their burritos, tacos, and bowls. I didn't know any better and got tacos, it seemed like a safe choice for a first-timer like me. My boyfriend got a steak bowl which I should have opted for but whatever. So after you choose your main entree, you get to pick what's inside and all the toppings. I picked chicken for my taco and all the basic ingredients you would get..such as salsa, sour cream, lettuce, and cheese. No beans nor rice for me cause who puts that in tacos?! Bleh. Wish I had gotten the salsa on the side cause I didn't realize it would be that spicy..I asked for mild too! Oh well, lesson learnt. A cheap, fast meal if you're hungry. There was a line when we entered, but it moved pretty quickly. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon unless I'm on the mainland again but at least I can finally say I tried it!

Good food but are never ready at 10:30 when they open. Had to wait 5 for someone to come to the register.

This is the closest Chipotle to me during the week for lunch at work, in fact it's practically IN the building I work in. Just a pointer here...get in EARLY, there will be a line practically down to Lake Michigan any time after 11, but I will give the folks here some credit, the line goes by pretty fast! And comparing this place to the burbs...they are SO stingy when it comes to filling the burrito bowls, rice, meat, everything...so of course this is where I order extra rice because if I'm paying almost $8 for lunch and a burrito bowl, I don't want them to skimp out. Given the crowds here too, there isn't a whole lot of room to sit down and eat here so I also suggest taking your order to go at this place. I will keep coming back here as I have no other options nearby, but I make sure I go early...or much later after the lunch rush.

I love chipotle I have been eating it for years. This chipotle is very busy. During lunch time a line wraps around the store. Luckily the line moves fast. However this store could use some improvement. My issue with this store is two things. Sometimes their things are too salty. You can get a bloated belly just be eating here. Also sometimes the food is cold. That also makes me mad. I always have to rely on a microwave to heat my burrito up after buying it. The burrito is not as flavorful when it is cold!! They have some work to do!

    (2)
  • Sam B.

I went here and they were out of guacamole, corn, pinto beans, cheese, lettuce and black beans. I wouldn't be mad, but they did not tell me this before I ordered my food. I was counting on Chipotle to satiate me when I was short on time. In the end I was misled and dissatisfied. I wished they would have offered more meat, free drink, or rain check to make me feel like I was receiving a fair deal. They did nothing of the sort! I will try this location again in a few months, but in the interim the management here needs to make sure that the customers are aware (BEFORE THEY ORDER) when precious burrito crafting supplies run dry.

Was a bit dissapointed after my 3rd visit to this location in particular. I ordered 1 steak taco, side of brown rice, and side of corn salsa. I use to work for a couple of Chipotles about 2 years ago so I know what it is to be in a "restaurateur" restaurant. The steak was barely warm (obviously they didn't check water in hot tables), the person on tortilla gave me a half serving of fajitas on my taco, and about 1 oz of meat. Lettuce was noticeably not so fresh, it had brown markings on some of them. The cheese was fine, but when I got to eating the corn salsa on the side, it was mostly frozen. I bought it to the line's attention and staff was courteous enough to change the corn on the line. I noticed that there was also no lime juice added to it as there is suppose to be per the recipes. However it didn't matter because the whole batch of corn that was made was all frozen as pointed out by the cashier. So she apologized for the inconvenience, and offered another item. Normally when a crew messes up a food item on the line, ANY food item is offered. When I asked for another taco, cashier said they could only offer me another salsa (which is pointless because if I would of wanted another salsa I would've already asked for it when ordering). Staff was overall decent in service, but quality of food, and attention to the standard and details was not there at all.

A burrito bowl used to have more than 10 little pieces of meat!!! EVERY SINGLE TIME! And when you ask for more they look at you like you just cut off their arm! If it wasn't chipotle, and extremely convenient for a fast lunch (yes I give them props, they get people in and out super fast) I would never come here. Compared to the dozens of other chipotles I've been to, this location by far gives you a lot smaller portions of meat/ingredients. Just because you're in a prime location doesn't mean you can be cheap and take advantage of your customers.

    (2)
  • April T.

This Chipotle is the WORST with portions. EVERY TIME I get a bowl here, it's almost nothing - and they give you like 5 pieces of meat. I won't be spending my money on food here again. Other Chipotle's are much better.

  • Jessica V.

I LOVE Chipotle. Eat it multiple times a week. But god do I DREAD going to this location. The lines are always long (which isn't their fault) but they are extremely slow!! They give you about half as much food as the location on Madison gives you. Really, the extra star is just because I love chipotle. I've literally waited 30 minutes in line at this location. Unless you have nothing else to do with your life (which apparently I didn't that day) do not come here.

    (2)
  • Nicolas P.

One of the best Chipotles I have been to. Good fast service and they never skimp on the portions given. Friendly servers and while the place is always busy, the cleaning staff does a good job of keeping the place clean and inviting. If you're alone or eating with a friend sit in the window seats and watch the exciting and usually laughable antics of Chicagoans as they pass by on Jackson Blvd.

I can't believe I've caved to the love for Chipotle. I can't resist their burrito bowls though, even more so now that they offer brown rice! I came here once when I needed something more than a donut before class and now I come here when I haven't eaten all day and have class. In all honesty, the time you go depends on the quality of service. Saturday mornings/afternoons are great. 5pm during the week, pretty good time. 5:30pm, not so much. Early afternoon, not so much. Yes, the portions are inconsistent, but the only one that drives me nuts is the guacamole. Hey, if you're paying $2 for it, I think it's fair that you get more than a teaspoon of it, but that's just me. This Chipotle is one of the better ones I've been to, but it's also quite small compared to some of the others. Just know you'll have people crowded around you while you're eating and deal with it. The line moves relatively quick (again, depending on what time you get there) and most of the employees are really nice and outgoing. That definitely helps when you're hungry and cranky and don't want to smile at anyone.

Consistency!! If you're looking for a great burrito all the time then Chipotle is for you. Personally I think Moe's is better but no Moe's in Chicago. Fast service, Fresh ingredients, Consistent taste!! What more could you ask for? The only fuss I have with Chipotle is the cost of guacamole. Seriously!? $1.79 for a spoon of guacamole?

  • Nichole M.

LOOOOOVE their medium salsa. I always get hard shell tacos here (authentic, I know) and they always get soggy by the time I eat them. So now I put the salsa on the side and then can dip the ol' taco in the salsa and I am happy as can be. The incredients here taste fresh unlike other fake Mexican restaurants. I usually get the pork, with just lettuce, sour cream, cheese and salsa on the side. YUM I also like their chips, so get those on the side, especially if you like your salsa on the side, like me. Like my love for Panda Express, it's not because it's authentic, it's just because it's so darn good. Go here, eat here, love here.

This is my favorite Chipotle location! Their food is always fresh, hot, and has the right amount of seasoning.... and they're always fast!

  • Hoang L.

The GOOD: -Very fast, even when the line is wrapping around the restaurant. -Consistent quality of food. -Clean. -A variety of hot sauces. The BAD: -Not generous with the rice like they used to be. -Guacamole is a huge disappointment. Flavorless. Can someone pass the salt please? I'll need a lot of it. -Cannot take the food to go because it always gets cold so quickly, even with the Styrofoam / foil container. -Crazy food coma afterwards. If I want better Mexican in the area, I'd rather recommend La Cocina, a block away.

  • Tony L.

This place is usually jam-packed with students during the week and the line gets pretty long but I have to say the line goes by pretty fast thanks to the hard working staff! It's a great place to grab some solid food during breaks.

Alright Chipotle, I don't know what the hell is going on with you, but you have been making me one unhappy customer my last few visits. I placed an online order at 10am yesterday morning for a 6pm pick-up, mostly to ensure it would be ready when I got off work. Was it? Not at all. I arrived at 6:10pm because I got held up, but expected to pick-up, pay, and leave. I went to the register, and asked the manager if I could pick up my online order, and he responded with a surprised look on his face, then scrambled to the other employees, who then started preparing my order. He asked if I wanted to wait, and I reluctantly said yes because they had already wasted my time. I went to pay and complained that this should not have happened when I put my online order in at 10am, and it was now 6:20pm. Seriously, what is the point of having on ordering system if you can't stay true to it, especially when the restaurant was pretty much empty? Ugh. He offered to take an order off, so I paid half the price of my meal, which I was relieved about, until I looked in my bag to see that the employee screwed up my order. I wanted a Burrito Bowl, but I got a Burrito. Once again, I went t the manager who bagged my order, and told him that my order was wrong. He replied with, 'Oh, I noticed that your order was wrong when I bagged it.' Ohhh, you did? Funny, because you didn't mention anything to me, while you took my money for a 7 HOUR LATE AND WRONG ORDER. UGHHH. As you can imagine, I retaliated with a high amount of sass and anger mostly from a rough day yesterday, and the entire experience definitely was the cherry on top. He again offered to re-make the food, but since I hate wasting food I said no, and that I would not be coming back anytime soon. Oh, and did I mention that they raised their prices almost a dollar on all menu items? I might be back when you get your act together.

This Chipotle gets SUPER busy during the peak lunch hours. We arrived around 11:45am and the line started to form. By noon, the line was out the door! The food here is really good and fresh. It wouldnt be my top pick of Mexican food but its fast and tasty and reasonably priced for the loop. Service is quick! Plan to take your food to go otherwise have someone reserve a seat for you if you want to sit down and eat here.

  • Shakeia T.

This Chipotle doesn't give the same amount of food as the others. They give LESS! You're supposed to have difficulty finishing a burrito bowl, not still be hungry afterward. On top of that, the service was terrible. Every single person who touched my food in the line did something to irritate me. The girl with the shells gave me a burrito shell when I asked for tacos, the guy with the chicken gave me baby portions, and the girl at the "toppings" ripped my shells. Awful. Just awful. I love Chipotle, but I'm staying away from this location.

I love Chipotle and discovered them when I lived in Denver (before they expanded nationally)- but this location SUCKS! They seem to have really high turnover, bad management and they skimp on the fillings here. Last night was the last straw- after waiting 10 minutes in line to get my order, I get to the end and they are out of guacamole! Might not be a big deal to people who get meat, but I'm a vegetarian and guac is basically the substance to my tacos. The guy offered me a bunch of free stuff, but come on, I was hungry. They don't have enough on the menu for them to be out of one of their main components. I walked out empty handed. If you're going to be located across the street from one university and within walking distance of several other campuses, you should be prepared. They always seem bewildered that so many people come there every day. Yet, nothing changes.

The line gets outrageous during lunch, but to be expected both being in the loop AND right next to DePaul. Once you wait it out - be set to go. I'm a bit specific with my ordering at Chipotle and they never have a problem with it. On the flip side of some of these portion complaints- I rather enjoy getting a "normal" portion vs. a giant burrito. No one wants to go back to their office feeling like they just ate a hippo.

Solid lunch place. It's not real Mexican food, but the food is fresh and well put together. Just fine.

I am a fan of Chipotle in general, but I love this location specifically. It isn't that close to my job, and the line is always long so I order online. I got a few coworkers into ordering online also. The only thing is sometimes they don't have my order in the system and sometimes they give me a bowl when I order a burrito. The funny thing is even if I order with a group of people, they only get mine wrong. It has become an inside joke. Why five stars, you ask? Because even when they get it wrong, they make it right. The online order guys are friendly, quick, and they follow up with you to make sure everything went ok. I assume it's a fairly new thing and they are tweaking the kinks out of the system, but I like it and the guys make sure you are happy with the service. Skip the lines, use the online ordering system.

I don't understand why Chipotle is managed so poorly from an operational perspective. Doesn't matter which location you go to, but this one is particularly bad, the line flow is terrible. It's not rocket science to say that they're a mexican fast food joint in the loop--lunch time will be crowded. There is never any less than 20 people in line normally closer to 30. But all the locations have one register--is this the 1950's? Get with the program.

    (2)
  • Nicole K.

So, first of all, who doesn't like Chipotle? This place is as good as any other place and though the line gets long on weekdays during lunch (as every other place in the loop area) , the service is quick.

I am a fan of Chipotle in general. In fact, when I finish this and move on to the other locations around the Chicago are that I've eaten at, I might click the "four stars", or "Yay, I'm a fan." Alas, this location receives an average rating of "A-OK" which I'll explain here in a little bit. Location: 5 out of 5 (narrowly scoped) People don't eat at this Chipotle if they live in the burbs that already has one. For the proximity to where I work, it's five stars. Doesn't take me more than 3 - 4 minutes to walk there. Look for the radio shack on the corner of Jackson and State. It's just further east on Jackson. If you hit Arby's or Fast Foo's, turn back immediately, because those two are not equivalent substitutes for Chipotle. Crowds: 3 out of 5, adjustable. As others have alluded to, don't be in the group of people that gets there past 11:30 or you're guaranteed to wait. If you have other Chipotle frequenters in front of you, it's not so bad because they know what they want and the ordering is fast. Plus the assembly line is fairly efficient for the most part. If you get there past 11:45, good luck. Also, if you get there with a group of tourists who has never eaten at the place, be prepared to wait as they ooh and ahh all the offerings. Speed of Service: 5 out of 5. Unequivocably the fastest group of assembly line workers I have seen in a Chipotle. From the moment you order to the last person wrapping up your burrito/tacos/bowl, it takes probably no more than 30 - 45 seconds, assuming you don't have a doofus in front of you. Pricing: 2 out of 5, tied in with portion size at THIS location only. I mean, Chipotle's not cheap by any standards, especially if you get guac, and then if you want chips and salsa and a drink, it'll run you double digits easily. However, their beer prices are actually quite reasonable. Go figure. This Chipotle does a good job of making all your final payments easy figures. Chicken Burrito comes to 6.75. The second tier pricing comes to 7.25. You get the point. That's why their sodas are like...2.19 without tax, and their chips are 1.47 or something. You get the picture. However, my beef, pun intended suckers, comes with the relatively smaller portion sizes you get at this location. Don't hate, but when I eat at Chipotle, I expect a HUGE burrito, not an average one. Plus I split it up into two meals cause I'm watching my figure. And 'pear' is not a figure. Portion Size: 2 out of 5. See above for details. You get noticeably less here than you would at other locations. I'm not joking. Quality of Food: 4 out of 5. Not to shabby. If you've eaten at one, you know how it goes. The higher ranking for this location comes from the fact that everything is always fresh due to a constant demand. It's not gourmet food, but it IS good food, and it's served quickly.

Two words: Portion. Control. Who would have thunk it...portion control at Chipotle?! WTF. Granted I can't finish a whole burrito bowl, but the best part is eating the other half for dinner. I was thoroughly upset I didn't have enough to take home. Nonsense! My coworker ordered steak tacos and only got (I counted) 4.5 pieces of steak on one of them. Poor guy. Rumor has it (yes, I'm talking chipotle gossip) that there's one specific lady who gives you significantly LESS rice and meat than every other employee. I think we got her... Besides the skimpy amount of food we got, it was still good. Duh, it's Chipotle.

  • Kwoky L.

A great tip for this Chipotle: They are absolutely stingy with the portions if you order at the counter but if you order online, the portions from the back kitchen are humongous. You have an option to ask for half/half meat and extra rice, they way I like it. They also have(had) a 50% on the entire order promotion for Mon-Wed if you order 6 or more orders of burrito/taco/bowls via online or fax. Ask them if they still have that anymore.

Knowing this is near my school gives me the comfort that international spies must have knowing that they have a cyanide capsule hidden in one of their molars. Carnitas burrito with pinto beans, pico de gallo, corn salsa, sour cream, cheese, lettuce. A panacea. A big ol' log of, "bad day go away or I'll stab you in the neck." I've never known anyone who's worked at one of these joints, but it seems like they treat their employees pretty darn well. I mean, they have a darn tip jar. When's the last time you saw a tip jar at a McDonald's? And last time I was here, they ran out of pork, so the manager comped the meals for everyone who had to wait for the next batch to come up, saying, "Nobody should ever have to wait for their food at Chipotle." Solid four stars for all that. And an extra star for the beers at Cal's that pocket money went to!

  • Jay G.

This place is usually busy during lunch, so I'd try to avoid going during that time. They're usually pretty fast with making your food, but sometimes they put so little rice/meat. I found that you can actually ask them to add more (unless it's meat, because they'll charge extra) of the sides.

You've gotta really be craving Chipotle if you want it for lunch on a weekday because the line is jam-packed. Now then, the great Chipotle v. Qdoba battle aside, this particular Chipotle runs very fast, sometimes messing up my order. I can't expect the assembly line to run at baby-pampering speed when the customers are lined out the entrance, but I've spent my time in line just like the rest of the restaurant and the least I can ask for is a decent burrito. It gets quite crowded so you get to meet all sorts of characters during lunch. I'll never forget: a patron two seats away from me left his food unattended for a trip to the soda fountain. A vagrant noticed the lone burrito from the outside due to the huge glass windows (very little "sloppy eating" privacy). I come up from a bite and see the vagrant yank the burrito and run out the door. Chipotle Public Service Announcement: Keep your burrito on your person at all times or enlist the supervision to a trustworthy neighbor.

What can I say about Chipotle? It is itself. This location in particular often is full of DePaul coeds making the wait for a meal that much more enjoyable. This location does have a habit of screwing up orders which can get annoying. Overall not bad at all.

Ok, after having Chipotle at the St Charles/Randall Road location last night, I'm officially upping my rating to five stars. Man, this stuff is just spectacular. Went with the burrito instead of the bowl last night. Got chicken, pintos, rice, sour cream and extra cheese. It's been a while since I went with the chicken, and I've forgotten how good it is. This place is a gold mine, hats off to its founder. Clean, efficient, comfortable, fresh, hard to find a single problem with it.

Maybe it is just a couple bad apples in the employees......I ordered steak bowl and found many pieces of steak very raw. This is of concern to me because I am pregnant and I should not eat anything raw. I have ordered steak bowl a handful of times before at other locations and Qdoba. It was always well done. I didn't make a fuss. I simply ate what seems safe to eat from the bowl. Before I left, I went up to the cashier and said: I just want to let you know that the steak today is under-cooked. A female employee right next to the cashier paused a second and said: it is supposed to be "medium rare". Medium rare! I left feeling quite insulted. If the meat is supposed to be medium rare, then it should be listed on the menu as such! Besides, anyone can see that I am very pregnant (over 7 months) and no one warned me about it when I ordered it. I doubt that it is the company policy that the steak should be medium rare. On top of having to worry about what biting into rare pieces of meat might do to my baby, now I am also very disappointed with the attitude of the employees there.

Alright, I'm a complete Chipotle addict. It's my one fast food weakness. There i've admitted it, i am not seeking recovery, only more indulgence. I would eat it every day if i could. Now I have become something of a connoisseur of the local chipotles and this one is one of the top locations in the loop. They have Craaazy lines at lunch. I've literally seen them out the door, but they zoom you thorough and are pretty good about special requests. The lack of one star comes because the prices in the loop have been jacked. so that when I got to chipotle here vs let's say my home base chipotle at Damen it ends up costing me about $1 more. boo. Also if you ever look at the nutrition facts you will want to opt for the burrito bowl like i do and skip the sour cream (it's worth the indulgence from time to time though). I can't help but love every delicious bite

This is a huge location. They have at least 5 people working behind the counter, trying to get everyone through as fast as possible. During lunchtime, the line is usually out the door, or around half the restaurant. It moves pretty fast, though, so you won't spend your entire lunch in line. The food is the same, as with all the other locations. It needed a little salt, but I'd rather it be undersalted than oversalted. There are plenty of tables, but it definitely won't fit everyone. If it's nice out, you can go across the street and sit on one of the benches in front of DePaul.

My first trip to Chipotle and it wasn't bad for corporately run burrito haus. I must admit that I am a bit spoiled when it comes to burritos seeing as I live in San Francisco and all. Its where the "mission style" burrito was created and perfected. Duh. Of course its the best. That said, Chipotle isn't half bad. Fresh ingredients, hormone free meats, decent portions, and fast service are the makings of a great lunch stop. I love that they have crispy tacos. Aside from Taco Bell which is delicious but horrible for you, its seemingly impossible to find it offered anywhere. Chipotle offers a healthier if not less caloric alternative. Yum! The (3) barbacoa crispy tacos were fabulous renditions of my favorite Mexican foodstuff. Simple yet satisfying. This location in particular seems a bit stingy on the meat and fillings, but it caters to the nearby shirt and tie crowd so go figure. Not as cheap as I would like, but better ingredients = higher price, which is only natural. $6.50 for 3 tacos pre tax. Whoops...did I just review the wrong location???Dammit...I did...Good thing they are all almost the same.

It's not mexican food, it's CHIPOTLE. It's like a whole new food group, and i do enjoy it. After a couple of years i have refinded my order to the optimum flavor: burrito: carnitas, pinto, veggies, mild, hot, and corn salsa, little bit of sour cream. bowl: chicken, black beans, veggies, mild, hot, corn salsa, sour cream, lettuce (liberally apply green tabasco) and the gaucamole is yummy and the chips okay.

CHIPOTLE! What are you doing to me? It hurts. But it hurts so good. I take classes right across the street. It's cold, it's windy, and so I survey my "mad-dash" lunchtime options: Arby's, Fontano's, some crappy Chinese food hole, and Chipotle. Not a great selection for a pescatarian. Sure, with a little more time and a little less wind, I might turn the corner and head for Potbelly's, Subway, Tokyo Lunch Box, or La Cocina. But they're SO far away. Almost a full block. Chipotle is right there, less than 20 yards away. I give in, again. The line is unbearably long during the lunch hour, but the folks at this location are FAST. And they're friendly. And they always give me extra guacamole on my giant burrito. Tables are also hard to come by, and I'd probably carry out my giant burrito more often, but then I wouldn't be able to slather every bite with Tabasco green sauce. On a good day, I can finish off half a bottle. My insides are never happy with me. Like I said, it hurts. But I can't help it. I keep coming back for more.

This place is my new obsession - although because it is across the street from DePaul, it can be totally packed with an insane line (I will give them credit though, that line moves faster than the US towards war). I love that they have all natural options and HUGE portions (especially because I don't need to cook after a meal here :) I now crave it on a regular basis, but try to limit myself to once a week (I only like the spicy salsa and it can do a number on my stomach). Oh yea - who would have thought that a place like this would serve beer, although I have never partaken, I like to know that I have the option!

I dislike Chipottle cause of their unmeasurable pricing. The ingredients given to you on their spoon is always inconsitent. One Chipottle the burrito is huge, another location the burrito can be tiny and still be the same price. Don't even want to get started on the extra fee for guacamole. It sits offered like any other ingredient, but if added it's extra. Bologne!!! Really, in all honesty...come on, the steak is always dry.

Why are people hating on Chipotle? Ok, I am aware that it's not "authentic" Mexican food. But seriously, who cares? It's FREAKIN' AWESOME. You know what's good? A veggie fajita burrito. Half the rice they normally put on it, black beans, fajita peppers and onions, green salsa, guacamole, sour cream and CHEESE. THEN you put green Tobasco sauce on it. I would say Chipotle is pretty consistent from location to location. This one is busier than most others, though. During lunch time there can be a line out the door. The line moves fast and you won't have to wait long for your burrito of joy. I will note that I cannot eat a whole burrito in one sitting. They are huge. It's more like 2 meals worth of food - however, Chipotle just isn't as good 5 hours later. It's one of the best fast food options out there. I would say, though: It's not terribly good for your waistline.

I am a Depaul student and need something real quick to eat during my break, i won't deny this place is quick service but also along with BAD and RUDE too. One of the girl in the station was so RUDE and acted like she's an owner. Never ever again for this location. I'd rather walk to the one on madison and eat there.

Headed down to Chipotle for lunch today. We were there during the lunch rush, but there was an employee taking preorders and running credit cards while we were in line, so the line moved REALLY fast! The place was packed but somehow it didn't feel that way. Great lunch spot. Steak was a bit spicy for my taste, but I am a big wuss.

No one ever really has a bad thing to say about any Chipotle, so far be it for me to be the first to tear it apart.I kind of like the fake fast mexican place. Its too expensive, however...and really, are you seriously only going to give me an eye drop of cheese and sour cream? Fine, you win....its good, the best being the spot in Roger's park with the ultra cool outdoor patio....plus anyplace that sells Corona's can't be that bad, can it???

Is it necessary for you to rush me through the line like that? Phew, good thing I've been to my fair share of Chipotles and didn't hesitate or, *gasp* , pause to read the menu prior to placing my order. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the speed - especially when the line is out the door - but when I ask for something specific and you ignore the request because you're moving too fast to hear me, it makes me think you need to move a taaaad slower. It's the normally Chipotle scene - wood, silver, clean lines... it's always crowded and the line goes fast. Study the menu before coming here and have your CC or cash out and ready before they have your burrito wrapped in tin foil - you might get some fierce looks if you pause to pull out the wallet. And, if you actually want to put your change in your wallet once you pay you should move out of the way to avoid being run over by oncoming purchasers.

This is pretty much similar to my other Chipotle review. You pick one of a couple meats (carne asada, barbacoa, carnitas, and pollo) and then you decide if you want tacos, a burrito, a burrito bowl, or a salad. As I've said before, it isn't authentic Mexican food. Don't go here expecting that. This particular Chipotle is right by DePaul, but it seems to move more smoothly than the one on Madison. They got that assembly line running full speed here. I prefer this one cause the portions seem to be bigger. I never get the burrito cause I feel like I should probably cut back somewhere. Bye bye flour tortilla. Burrito bowl it is...and it makes it look less like poor representation of a burrito. Only other burrito downtown I would choose over it is Zacatacos...

Been to one, seen them all! Why on earth do they have to put cilantro in EVERYTHING on the menu? Okay, maybe not everything, but I had the chicken tacos (one of the things you can get sans cilantro) and the chicken was so fatty and disgusting I ended up with flour tortillas, sour cream, lettuce and cheese. The only reason they have one star is that their chips save them.

I used to be a regular at this place a few years back. I was in here once a week for lunch when I worked in the area. The following review is based on my most recent visit alas most disappointing visit here. I like the food at Chipotle. it is not the most authentic but it is tastier than most other fast food options available. This place is ALWAYS packed during the lunch hour and it can be very difficult to eat in. We arrived here at about 1:15 hoping that most of the big lunch crowd would have already dispersed. It was still packed but they were moving the line quickly. Lara went and got the one remaining table for us and i went ahead to place our orders. This is where the frustration starts to set in. they messed up my burrito which was OK because they fixed it right away. When I got to the lady who was putting the cold product on our stuff, I asked for lettuce on Lara's burrito where I was told there was no more lettuce. OK fine then no lettuce! When I got up to the register to pay for my meal someone brought more freaking lettuce! I guess I was shit out of luck for my lettuce now since I was walking away with my food. I went to get our drinks and they were out of diet coke. I made the mistake of trying to use the bathroom too. I can see locking the bathroom when the place is slow to keep the transients from showering in the sink. When the place is busy they really need to keep them unlocked because you need to fight the crowd to get to register to get the key and then wait to get acknowledged for it. I waited way to long to use the bathroom. My steak fajita burrito was very good as always. I am not going to write this place off because of this one day of bad service. I will revise my review upon my next visit. I enjoy the food at Chipotle too much to completely write this place off. Every place deserves a second chance.

This Chipotle definitely serves less than other Chipotle locations...I have encountered this many times. I go there as its close to home but I think I am going to stop...When they opened they were on par with other locations but now they have increased the price yet reduced the quantity on all items. I agree with other reviewers - they short change you on salad and rice every time and I have to ask for more. The last 2 times including today they short changed me and others on the beans but I didn't fuss about the rice or the beans this time. When the server decided to short change me on the beef too, I was ready for a fight...when I tell him that he has already short changed me on the rice and beans he said he can give me more of that but can't give more beef. I was ready to make a scene when he finally agreed. The icing on the cake is when the server after him made a face when I asked her to add more corn...don't tell me corn is too expensive too...clearly this location is about making money and not serving the customers. I am going to ask my friends not to go there anymore...Chipotle will soon go under if this continues...

What did i do before Chipotle existed? I have at least 2 meals here a week and would eat here even more if I didn't know these burritos were so unhealthy. The lines are always long, but that's just because everyone is aware that Chipotle has the best burritos.

    (2)

  • Claudia S.

This place is usually jam-packed with students during the week and the line gets pretty long but I have to say the line goes by pretty fast thanks to the hard working staff! It's a great place to grab some solid food during breaks.

So, first of all, who doesn't like Chipotle? This place is as good as any other place and though the line gets long on weekdays during lunch (as every other place in the loop area) , the service is quick.

  • D H.
