Don't you ever dare come here. I eat chipotle maybe once every couple months, less and less all the time, every time it's evident why, the eroding customer experience, this one is the Mount Everest of colossal fails however. Expecting fresh food, prepared on the spot, made quickly, followed by a prompt checkout and you're out the door? Suspend and or abandon entirely those expectations. 7:20pm - After parking illegally outside and putting blinkers on with the expectation of being in and out in no more than 10 min, I walk in to see on static non-moving fixed line, it appears to be the line to order in, I assume my place at the back and think, this is chipotle, it only warrants no longer than 8 minutes of waiting in the grand value proposition. Sounds snobby? No , if I wanted to wait for food is go somewhere where food was being prepared for me, let's call chipotle what it is, an assembly line, and that's cool. 7:28pm - The line doesn't move for 8 minutes, young whipper snappers behind me having for lack of a better word, "straight douche" convos: Exhibit A: Douchelord 1: "Dude Brody Jenner and 50 cent are going to be at Parliament this weekend!" Douchelord 2: "Whoaaaaa that's bangin yo" Douchelord 3: "I'm thinking dark jeans and either a v-neck or a button up" Douchelord 1:"Dude last time l was there, it wasn't even anybody special and half of the people were in suits" Douchelord 3: "bro I'm not wearing a suit for 50 cent" Douchelord 1: "brah you're gonna have to" Douchelord 3: "ya, you're prolly right..." Wow. 7:38pm - The line still hasn't move, when I see a cluster of about 10 people off to the right, just lingering, slightly worrisome, but at that very moment the line begins to move. There's some chatter at the front, the guy in front of me says something about I don't need chicken, ok then it clicks maybe that's why the line is held up they've all been waiting for chicken, he orders and as soon as it's my turn, a tray of chicken shows up, the woman behind the glass asks me what I want, and ten people rush in front of me and order. Even though I wasn't getting chicken. Wow Ok I'm out, drive home, park, pisssssssed. Sitting in my car reflecting on what just happened and what my options are. Surely I can go to potbelly's and drown my sorrows in an oil and vinegar soaked wreck on flat bread. Exit the garage, walk to potbelly....no dice ace. 8:02pm - Sorry Charlie, Potbelly's closes at 8pm. After screaming for about 30-90 seconds, kicking a bus stop sign that ended up hurting my phone, I start walking aimlessly, muttering to my self "God damn chipotle back stocked chicken, son of a f'ing $&&), I'll give ya corn salsa!" 8:10pm - I wander into Lou Mitchell's diner, (their reviews follows there) 8:12pm - Order fried chicken and begin to write this diatribe of a review 8:45 - finally sit down to eat, over an hour after walking into chipotle (This all happened within a four block radius) Conclusion: Kick this chipotle right in the ear and keep walking by...

Stopped by again today and had to leave. The line was out the door at 11:45 and was NOT moving. They used to be so efficient and has gone to hell recently.

I'm mad at this Chipotle right now since they didn't accept my coupon which was a few days expired. They lost a lot of business by being cheap.

So I went to Chipotle for the first time in four or five years just to switch things up after yet another wacky week at the gulag left me strung out. Anyone in Chicago knows Chipotle is almost as ubiquitous as Starbucks. If you throw in the Chipotle clones like Blaze Pizza, which uses the same template, you can easily walk down any block in the city and not know what street you're on because these monochromatic eateries-- based on the model of the now floundering Subway-- are rolled out on virtually every street. And the orderly queued up sheep just love these greet/order/chat about sunshine/get your ticket punched/move to the next station/rinse/repeat assembly line joints. They're out the door and blocking the sidewalks for this stuff. So I went to Chipotle, went down the assembly line in an orderly fashion, let out a baa or two to blend in, paid my eight bucks and got my burrito. And now I remember why I hadn't gone to Chipotle for four or five years. I like rice. I like black beans. I like flour tortillas. I like cheese. I like chicken. But I could probably make a fat rice and black bean burrito at home for one-fifth of the price and one hundred percent of the totally prosaic taste, without spitting out at least half of the chicken. Chipotle. It's middlingly sister kisser-esque.

If the line is literally out the door your employees shouldn't be standing at register talking about personal stuff as I'm trying to hand them my credit card to pay for 30 seconds. Totally inefficient line that takes longer than it should for several obvious reasons. One of the worst chipotles I've ever been to.

Customer service was top notch. I recommend getting here earlier than 30 minutes before closing. Their veggies were a bit dry, but other than that, good experience

I tend to go to this location since I live next to it but don't bother going M-FRI for lunch because the line is ridiculous. I also feel like I get shorted on all the ingredients in my burrito, usually they hardly add any rice and meat is scarce.

Quick service, not skimpy on portions. A good chipotle. There is always long line after 11:30, but it moves decently quickly. For a loop lunch, this chipotle moves quicker than the other locations.

Pretty convenient chipotle location in the westloop. The only downside is the long line. Lots of college kids seem to be coming here due to the location.

Chipotle is Chipotle. They have awesome food and this location keeps the line moving as fast as humanly possible. If you get there between 11:30am-11:50am or 12:30-12:50pm, the wait is quite short. Just be smart about when you visit and all will be well. Cheers to healthy eating.

Every time I go to this Chipolte (usually on the weekends) the service is horrible. It seems like the folks working there just do not care. Today after being ignored for several minutes, someone finally helped me. The killer was when I asked for a side of guac and the server pulled something very large out of the guac (maybe a quarter or a piece of avocado pit). When I said SERIOUSLY? The server said, "if you find anything in your guac call to complain." Is anyone managing this location on the weekends??? Terrible.

Placed an online order through my phone for two burritos. Got the confirmation email and time. Arrived exactly at 5:25pm to pick up my order. They were busy. Okay cool. I get that. So while standing there for about 5 minutes waiting to be assisted, I walked up to ask if my online order will be ready. I told the manager or supervisor that I understand since they were fulfilling an order for a coach bus full of people. Then what got me mad was him lying that the order was on its way already. I then assumed the line of burritos were not just for the bus but mine may be mixed in there as well. Then I see the manager grab my order receipt from the back and gave it to one of his employees. So it wasn't on the way.... Then while the employee was making it, she took an order from another customer who just walked in which left the burrito there cold. This place has no organization or direction and it starts at management "telling" people their food is on the way when it is not. I never liked Chipotle in the first place. I never understood the hype of this place. Seven dollars for a burrito filled with 75% rice? My wife loves this place (hence the second burrito) and I try to give this place another every time for her. I try to like it, but these poor experiences doesn't help.

Cold food, small portions (strange for a Chipotle), bad service. Only good thing is its open Sunday, otherwise I would not even consider.

As long as you already know that it's going to be packed and it may take you a while to get your order, Chipotle never fails to satisfy my cravings! Quality is always high and they stuff your burrito to the max!

Ordered for the office again, and again they did the pretty large order well. It was mostly ready when we got in, except for the crunchy shells which were made while we waited (figure its safer on the shells).. the food's always good here. Long lines at lunch time.

Agree with previous reviews; meat is cold/luke warm. With Roti and Hannah's so close, I probably won't be back here.

Why do people like Chipotle so much? It's simply 'OK,' but not good. I've been to Chipotle a few times, but every time I have been left wanting. Sure, ingredients seem fresh, but they aren't really melded together to create great food. I would honestly rather have Taco Bell. Oh, and the interior reminds me of a dairy farm. I've given up on Chipotle.

Close to Presidential Towers, this Chipotle has been seriously anticipated by those in the area who don't want to ford the river to get to the Chipotle 2 blocks east. Evidence: constant 20-minute line out the door for their grand opening, EVEN with no free burritos. That's dedication. The high ceiling and long windows make this location feel bigger than it is, but it still has decent seating capacity. There are plenty of large tables for when the lunch rush comes in groups and a few smaller tables hidden around a corner near the bathroom. There's a special entrance for pick-ups ordered in advance, so you can skip the regular line. Decor is the most minimal I've seen at any Chipotle, with some plywood walls that I assume will make way for something really cool really soon. Service was friendly despite the opening day insanity. Hip staff with piercings and other clear indicators of hipness. Efficient as per the Chipotle model, although I was told after waiting in line for chips & guac that I could have just come to the front of the line immediately (good to know for future reference, but 1. I'd already waited and 2. who will tell that to the 800 people I bruise past in the future?) Chipotle is, as always, delicious, and I'm glad they put one here. Additionally, the chicken burritos are $6.05, the price we proud vegheads pay for ours everyday...

I'm still debating whether or not I like this place, but I'm leaning towards "not". On the plus side, the portions are generous and prices reasinable. The location is also convenient to my place of employment and other places of interest, like Presidential Towers and Oglivie. Customer service is also okay. Now for the minuses. The set-up is weird. It kind of looks like a jailhouse cafeteria. There is plywood on the walls. Lines at lunchtime are horrendous. The overall ambiance is loud and confusing. The super tall ceilings make it seem like there should be some scaffolding up there. Definitely not a fan of the look of this location. I would never choose to eat inside.

I'm all for eating a veggie burrito or a veggie bowl from Chipotle. I love going to Chipotle during the weekends when I have to work. Can you really go wrong with this place? Yummy! Service is very good here and the place is clean. There is lots of space to sit and they even have an outdoor patio.

Cold food, slow service, unenthusiastic employees is what makes this chipotle a spot to forget. Took another team member 5 min to put the toppings on my burrito bowl simply because there was mo one at that station. I most likely wont be returning to this destination.

This has to be the worst Chipotle I have been to. The only reason I have been going to this place is when I'm working late and it's right around the corner. However, I am fed up and will no longer visit this location. They are so inefficient. It literally takes 3 times as long to get through the line. They average about 7 workers (I counted them), however only two of them are working. The rest are in the back talking to each other and basically slacking off. Also, they always run out of ingredients during the dinner rush. Last night they stated that they are out of lettuce! Are you kidding me?

I have a love hate relationship with Chipotle. On the one hand, when I get busy at work and go too long without eating, I get insane cravings for a ton of food. Weird. So naturally I end up at Chipotle, with their burritos packed full of cilantro lime rice, black beans, and meaty goodness. On the other hand, after I come down from my feeding frenzy, there is always that lingering feeling of regret from eating, well, a huge burrito. This particular Chipotle has a faux industrial feel, with exposed air ducts and very high ceilings. All of the tables are steel and make you think you are under some sort of experimental lab lighting. Luckily, I get my burrito to go and so the ambiance does not bother me. Although they get slammed with the normal weekday lunch rush, the staff is able to handle the line easily, even putting someone with a mobile ordering computer ahead of the normal prep line to help everything move faster. In short, Chipotle understands my addiction to meaty, high calorie foods and gives me my fix. They will not, however, ever win any awards for healthiest lunch.

Worst Chipotle EVER! Ordering is very stressful because everyone is yelling at you and you cant under stand what they are saying AND they have messed up my order every single time!

I work nearby and often order my food online and then go in and pick it up, I highly recommend doing that to anyone who works in the area with internet access. The only thing I hope comes to this location, as well as all the Chipotle's in the city, GARDEN CHICKEN. The veggie burritos are ok, but having tried the vegan chicken in 3 other cities in the country, I can say this would be a GREAT improvement.

I've been to other Chipotle locations, so the main reason for this review is to give a much deserved shout out to one of its workers, Delisha Smith. I go to physical therapy around the corner and stopped at this Chipotle for dinner twice after my appointments. Each time, Delisha was working and had one of the most vibrant, friendly personalities I have encountered. There was one night when she was helping a customer who did not speak or understand much English. She was so patient and was trying her best to help him and ensure he received what he wanted. I even complimented her on the spot and told her what a breath of fresh air she was. Usually, in the fast food industry, you encounter somewhat "crabby" personnel. -Let's face it, the fast food industry is very fast paced, can be chaotic and I'm sure the workers encounter less than-polite customers often throughout the day. However, despite it being later in the day (around 6:30-7pm) Delisha was "on". She is very good at what she does, so visiting this Chipotle location is a pleasure!

I like the food - same as every other Chipotle. The service was quick. It's always good at Chipotle but better here I felt. We were third in line at noon on a weekday. That never happens in any other Chipotle I've been to. We even managed to get a seat.

I love Chipotle. The food is decent, I love their guacamole, and the cost is about average. This Chipotle always seems to have a long line, which brings down its appeal. The other catch is the decor. The inside has finished plywood on some of the walls which makes me feel like I am eating in an unfinished restaurant. When I eat there, I also feel as if I need to hurry up eat, and get out. The atmosphere is just not inviting. The advantages: location, customer service (although this time they added lettuce without asking and I don't care for lettuce on warm food), food, and price.

If you order online and pick it up, not only can you skip the line, but the burritos are consistently large! Plus the attendant there is super helpful!

what is wrong with the workers in this place? i'm paying almost $8 for a burrito bowl and i get a half tablespoon of meat and veggies. they scoop like their wrists are broken. i will fair better going to the sushi restaurant on the opposite side of the street!

Lines are out the door during lunch hours, but this staff moves very quickly! I tried weeding myself off Chipotle by eating there for lunch 5 days in a row.......didn't work, I wanted the Guacamole and Chips even more!!!!!! I know it cost a little extra but I always order my burrito bowl with extra Chicken!!!! You know you love Chipotle, check this location out!

Horrible location and by far the worst I have ever been to (especially on a weekend). I have been here a few times and while the weekday lunches seem to be ok, the weekend ANY meal is horrible. I have waited for 25 minutes when there are only 10-12 people in line. Last time I went them ran out of white rice, fajita peppers, chicken, guac AND lettuce; I mean how do you run out of lettuce? On top of the lack of effort by the staff, the management just does not see to care about this location. I have attempted to contact Eva Vargas this location general manager at her direct line of 312.379.0246 and have been hung up on and also was unable to leave a voicemail since her inbox was full. In the end, I would strongly suggest walking an extra couple blocks and avoiding this location by all means. **This is a review on this specific location versus the entire chain**

Alright, so boo and I were suckered into going to Chipotle tonight for the buy one get one free if you order sofritas. *twist our arm* We first tried the South Loop location and... no. That line was circling outside of the building. This aint no Friday night in Hollywood WTF! So we popped over to the next location that we found - off of Monroe. The line was still long but it was indoors and moved fast and by the time we made it to the counter the workers (who had obviously been working non-stop that day) were extremely friendly and sociable. More importantly, they were not stingy about the serving size (thank you baby jesus) and everything was clean & tidy. The food itself was de-lishhhh, as expected. On point, Chipotle! We'll be back....... by February 28 for our free burrito.

This Chipotle has something special about them. What is it... oh yeah, PATRON MARGARITAS! Woohoo! Stopped in for lunch with a buddy, waited in an extremely long line on a Friday, but the burrito-tistas moved things along pretty fast. My signature order is a burrito bowl with brown rice, fajita veggies, black beans, cheese, mild tomato salsa, and corn salsa. I'm not a TOTAL health nut, but I still can't bring myself to get an actual burrito. That tortilla adds like 200 calories. But who's counting! Anyway, the food is always fresh for quick service, and is reliably delicious and satisfying. So we order Patron margaritas at the counter. "You can't get those to go," says the checkout man. Yeah, no duh. Wasn't going to get it in a fountain drink cup! Though now that you mention it, very appealing idea. I'm not sure how many people order these at lunch (literally I didn't see anybody else doing it), but we dare to be different. We sat outside, they have maybe 5 tables arranged out front. Hard to get a seat but we got lucky. The indoor seating isn't that appealing since it's so crowded in there. Our margaritas were delivered to us in plastic cups about 5-10 minutes later - seriously I'm not sure they've made them before, it took so long and they seemed frankly confused by the fact that we ordered them at all - but they were pretty good! They aren't huge but they are tasty and boozy enough. Most of the places where you can have a drink with your lunch around here are either fancy, or just really crappy bars with unappealing food. Chipotle fits very well into this void! Fun Friday treat!

Had a burrito bowl. Was given 1/2 a scoop of rice. couple pieces of steak. half a handful of lettuce. After all said and done, my bowl was half full. I went over 5 times, and this happened 4 times.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
