I had a lot of crazy night at this bar back in 1995-1998. All disgusting things must end. It was fun and drunk and the epitome of my 20's. Long live shit dive bars from back in the day. Maybe some day wicker park will be awesome again. No Gucci. No cabs. No rich people. Well folks it's time to move to Detroit.

This was yet another real deal version of Wicker Park and I would say the final version that has human elements that I would care to associate with. I really miss this place. I was baptized into Chicago at Borderline and will never forget how it used to be (turning tricks, turntables and dimes). True flourishing of arts and culture on any given night of the week. So many characters would frequent this place and these days I sometimes drive by and hope to see the ghosts of some of them through the window...but, nah, it's all over. It is a damn shame-the way things went... Shameful hipster/yuppies/yupsters? Go back from whence you came and give us back our prodigal soul.

RIP Borderline. The Tavern sucks and we miss you. I miss your beer cooler, I miss your bathrooms, I miss your entrance to Red Dog (RIP, aussi), I miss sitting in the window on a Saturday night, I miss your bartenders, I miss Reggie voguing until 4am, I miss the PR's who used to start fights over girls, I miss my people......RIP Wicker Park.

This is a great late night bar in the heart of Wicker Park/Bucktown. It is a perfect ending to closing down Subterranean across the street! Drinks are cheap, crowd is good! The bathrooms look really cool too. If you want a table in the front, I would get there before the bars around there close down, because after 1 or 2am it gets really busy!

Borderline is currently under construction...It will be totally different once it reopens which I am completely grateful for. I frequented Borderline since it was in the neighborhood years ago but as time passed by, it got worse and worse, The crowd was unbearable and it just got too damn packed in there. One of my fav bartenders no longer works there and I dont really care for any other ones.
