High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

I was on the streak of "fast food." However, I'm not seeking for any fast-food restaurant on the national chain. I prefer everything local. Ladies and gentleman: let me delightfully announce my finding today...introducing Mr. Beef and Mrs. Burger...or just "Beef & Burger" in short. This place is literally the next door of that legendary "Susie's," but I normally don't carry much cash. Nevertheless, Beef & Burger does accept credit cards. We ordered the ribeye steak sandwich ($7.49) and the gyro plate ($10.99). Everything was made to order. My sandwich was pretty large, with two (2) big pieces of ribeye, along with lettuce, tomatoes and grilled onions. Nevertheless, hubby's gyro plate was really worth the money; it had two (2) large pita bread, a plenty of gyro meat, a side salad featuring chunks and chunks of fresh feta cheese. All combos come with nice, greasy fries. They do offer pick-up and delivery services. The lady behind the counter, other than speaking to someone on the phone in Arabic, was getting phone calls for either pick-ups or deliveries. Although we were the only patrons dining in, they were busy prepping for those off-site orders. If you're short on cash but carrying the plastics with you at all times, like myself, try this place out.

This place is good. Not one of the best, but it's up there. The fries were just the right amount of crispy and mushy. The burger, however, was thin and a bit tasteless. It is a step above the usual, but it's nothing too special. The price is decent, about $7 for a meal (burger, fries, drink). The drinks are well-portioned. You get a lot of fries and drink, but I wish they would've put more thought into the burger.

Good burgers. Good Italian Beef and Sausage combos. The dude is really cool. He really takes pride in his place. My only issue is that it closes so early.

I had the double cheeseburger with fries. The burger was very good. It was juicy and grilled just right. The toppings were fresh. The fries were good home cut style. The flavor was really good and cooked perfect. It's a little small inside with a table along the window. I look forward to returning and trying some of the other food.

I'm not sure how Beef & Burger compares to Susie's (same kind of restaurant literally right next door), but I definitely loved what I ordered from here. I got gyros and fries and the sandwich was amazing. It's no Hubs, where you get what seems like 2 lbs of meat in your sandwich; but what's nice is that they actually put the sandwich together for you, and it's manageable when you're eating it. This is the first place where I have been able to pick the whole sandwich up without anything falling out. The pita bread they use is fantastic -- crispy on the outside and chewy goodness on the inside. Perhaps my European roots are coming out when I say this, but I love sauces being associated with everything I eat. Gravy, Au jus, dressings, guerre blanc, mayonnaise, you name it I'm all over it. The tzatziki sauce inside the gyros sandwich is evenly distributed so there's no trying to dunk a sloppy sandwich into a dipping sauce; or messing your hands further by dissecting your sandwich in order to spread the sauce inside. Don't worry, the sandwich is still huge and you're more than satisfied once you're done devouring it. The fries that come with your order have a wide girth and perhaps 4 of these equal a small potato. One thing I wish about this place, considering the size of their fries, would be that they offer a better selection of sauces for them. Only because they are so huge and they seem to eat like a meal. While I waited for my sandwich, the customers ahead of me ordered hamburgers and for a moment I almost regretted ordering the gyros. They smelled in a way where you knew once you took a bite into one, the meat would be juicy and full of flavor. I think they could stand to upgrade the quality of their buns. They looked cheap. I'd like to see them invest in pretzel buns with those kinds of burgers. Beef & Burger is an old building, but it looks like they keep it clean. The guy who took my order looked like the owner and he was extremely friendly. I think he was smiling the whole time I waited for my order. The small space inside made it kind of awkward to wait. I guess I have personal space issues and I don't like standing too close to anyone I don't know. Bathed or not. Again, if you live in this neighborhood, there is no need to visit a McDonald's or Burger King; unless it's super early or late in the day. I'll definitely be back!

I was craving a burger and looked up that joint. Rated 4 stars and within 5 minutes drive I thought would be a good choice. Not quite.. There were no customers inside, the manager lady was sitting on a chair playing with her phone and a grill guy came out later. I came in looking around guessing if anyone was interested in having me as a customer. Don't think so.. That was the regular "all right, since you're here, how can I help you?" attitude. And even that I had to wait in silence reflection for a period of time enough to make you wonder why you are even here? I ordered a cheeseburger, which comes with french fries, and a coke. My order was processed within 5 minutes which was okay, not great but can't complain here. The burger was okay, better than McDonalds but was it better than Burger King? Nope.. don't think so. The fries was just trash, something horrible, I didn't know there was a way to fuck up fries that bad. Now, the feeling of interior.. spending just a few minutes in that gutter made me want to leave right then. $8 for my order was okay. I guess I wouldn't spend more at Burger King. Bottom line is I found nothing there that would make me want to come back so I won't.

Love this place! I came across this place on Google Maps when searching for a nearby cheap place to get some food. I tried the cheeseburger the first time and just fell in love with it. It was pretty good, considering it was only $6 including taxes. And it came with fries. All items on the menu come with fries, however, if you don't want them, they take a dollar off. Which is what I do, since the fries are not the best here. So I get a cheeseburger almost every other day, and it runs me about $5. The burger is quite big, so it's a good deal. I also tried the gyro here and it was pretty good! However, don't ever try the tamale. It comes in a plastic wrap and they just microwave it for you. But then again you shouldn't be ordering a tamale from a place like this anyway. The owner there is very friendly, every time I go there, I always stay for a few minutes and chat with him. His name is Albert, or Al, which I think he prefers. He's always there, along with his cook Oscar. They're both friendly all the time and always smiling. I love that about this place. As for the actual physical appearance and set-up of the place, it's not the best. In fact, it's quite shitty. I never eat there, I always pick up. It's just one of the places you always pick up from. Unless you're really hungry, they do have seating arrangements, but nothing special. Which I don't really care about, since I'm a college student. And the food I get is pretty darn great for the price.

Good decent Chicago fast food (hotdogs, hamburgers, beef sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, gyros and Greek salads) and shakes. The chocolate malt is my fave. The owners are nice, helpful people, move quickly, add extra, fries come with everything. Food is fresh. I've stopped going to Susie's down the street unless I really really need a drive through, which Beef and Burger doesn't have. When I'm really lazy or overwhelmed with work, I love that I can call B&B for delivery, I think the min order is like $10.

  • Mary H.

I would not recommend this fast food restaurant. The gyro sandwich is nothing like it used to be. The service is so slow. Overpriced for the quality of food as well as the poor service.

My family has been eating at this restaurant for several years now. The food is always great, especially if you're on a budget. Personally, I like the gyro sandwich. It is honestly one of the best gyros in Chicago, and it's what I always think of first when I'm starting to miss home. The owners have also improved their shakes recently. They are very good!

Absolutely my new spiritual home. I've been back several times and still haven't managed to get anything other than the bacon cheese burger because it is SO. GOOD. Fresh, real bacon! That they cooked in front of you! And the burger itself is no slouch. Big and cooked medium-well, it is very, very much my taste. Whenever I'm in the mood for a burger, this is definitely the place. Forget Five Guys or any of the other gourmet or lunch counter burger places. If you want a fantastic burger and fresh-cut fries, hit this place up. You will NOT be sorry.

My boyfriend and I decided to make a pit stop here when we were in the neighborhood. The Yelp reviews sounded too good to be true because I love burgers AND we had been trying to find decent gyros. This place was definitely what you would call a hole-in-the-wall. The staff were nice enough and we also met the old Greek grandma who lives next door. Later when we left she offered us a package of her own homemade Greek cake and invited us to the Greek Festival the next weekend. But I digress. We ordered the bacon cheeseburger and gyro sandwich. I was underwhelmed by the burger. The bacon was good but the rest of the burger was just average. I think a change in the type of bun used would make a huge difference. The gyro sandwich was very good. The meat wasn't too greasy and it was a good-sized portion. My only complaint is that they put too much of the yogurt sauce on the gyro. The fresh cut fries, which come with every order, were hot and crispy but not as wonderful as the reviews would have you believe. Would I come back? Yes but only to see the nice Greek grandma.

My fiance and I went to Beef and Burger yesterday. The service is so so slow. There were only 2 ladies in there when we came in. They were together but the slow cook can not multi task at all. He can only make 1 sandwich at a time. Back when they first opened Nick was so nice and he had a cook that was quick. Now they have slow poke Rodriguez and he can't make more then 1 sandwich. Boy times have changed and not for the better... I am not going back. It took 25 minutes to get 2 cheeseburgers. Come up people Don't you want customers?

Great food, nice quick service. Open late (but not 24 hours). Fries come standard. There are many similar places and this place tastes exactly like would expect it to taste; it doesn't disappoint.

I like Kuma's but this place has a better burger. This burger is even better than The Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas. The frys are hand cut and perfect. The milk shakes are good too. Number 1 in my book for the perfect burger! Been here many times than any other burger joint on this planet! Best kept secret.

  • Errol B.

I ordered delivery. The gyros I got was good, but pretty skimpy. The burger was ok. The main reason I give it 2 stars is how in the world does a gyros and bacon cheeseburger come out to $17.60 for delivery??? The gyros was 6.99. The (single pattie and thin) burger came out to 5.49. The lettuce and tomatoes were an extra .69 added to that burger. You have to be kidding me. Delivery charge is $3. Add a tip and you are out $20 for $10 worth of food. It should of been more like $16 including tip. This place was better when it was Golfo's.

Still has the amazing gyros I had when I was a kid 20 years ago. An absolute joy for take out! Highly recommend!

We received a flyer and started ordering from this place. The food for the most part was very good. Then, we would call the telephone number listed on the flyer, and no one ever picked up. I thought the business had gone out of business. Then, I began taking a different way home and went by the place. I would see a few people in the place. Wrote down the number and saw it was the same number on the flyer. Yet, when we called--no one would pick up the phone. Decided I would give it one more try. I told the woman what happened--called me a liar. Claims she works 12 hours a day. You don't call someone a liar. Tried to be reasonable. If she is a new owner or ownership changed, that is all that had to be said. There was no need to be rude. Don't think--I will bother.

Nothing beats a Greek owned fast food restaurant! Consistently good burgers and gyros, good fries and I always am satisfied and sleepy after getting carryout from here! Beef and Burger you kick the pants off Susie's Beef!

Back in the day (80's n 90's) the Greek lady owned it, it was called Golfo's and food was good then and the lady was sweet. Our dad would sometimes get gyros there on Sat. afternoons. The other day, I called for a pick-up order and the man on the phone really took his time, particularly ascertaining EXACTLY what I wanted. It's a similar menu/business model but now known as Beef-N-Burger. My order was an Italian sausage with marinara, sweet & hot peppers. Not dipped. The food was hot & ready when I arrived several minutes later. Price was GREAT, just over $6 bucks for an It. Sausage W/ Peppers AND Fries!!

There are probably a thousand places like it in Chicago, but man was it GOOD. Fresh-cut fries ... perfectly executed Chicago dog and Polish ... and the owner is Assyiran and super cool. Considering I stumbled across it after another Yelp-tip turned out to be closed ... it was money.

I picked up some Italian Beef sandwiches and a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich on the way home the other day. My beef was good, but nothing special. Same with Christopher's Philly Cheese. Mom liked her beef sandwich as well and thought the meat portion was quite generous. The service was very friendly and fries come free with the sandwiches. Next time I will try a burger for grins and giggles.

This is a great little place for burgers, hot dogs, gyros, and a number of other treats. The faded signs for gyros and fresh-cut fries along with the handwritten menu (which has a ton of choices at GREAT prices) give it a familiar feeling. Everything is made to order and comes with a generous helping of deliciously seasoned (if a tiny bit limp) fries. I recommend the gyros, but when they say "With everything?" ask for the dressing on the side. I think it's just Greek yogurt and not tzatziki, so it's not as easy to mix the meat up in it. We've only ever had good service there. We always do take away because it's just a 5 minute walk, but I guess they also deliver. There's a nice little picnic table outside, only a few places to sit inside. Also, I don't think it's air conditioned (or if it is, it can't compete with the heat of the grill) so during the summer plan on eating outside or having it at home. They do use styrofoam, so that's a bummer. But it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood.

Everything about this greasy little grill is solid. Better than average because: fries come with everything; owner is friendly; prices are low; gyros and burgers are particularly tasty.

  • Craig D.

Best burger joint around, hands down. Portions are huge, prices are cheap, shakes are cold and malty. Everything you'd expect from a corner burger place, lots of selection (from gyro's, triple cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and other munchies), and the friendly owner who always gets your order right...or he'll fix it. The perfect fix for when you're looking for a quick, tasty, and greasy (what? sometimes you want greasy!) meal. They also offer delivery, but we have never taken advantage of this.

Update!: 01/15/2010 They are now open Sundays and until 11PM This is the best! Skip McDonalds and get some good old fashion real food. The burgers are delicious, hot dogs amazing, and Oreo Milkshakes! Done perfect (And cheaper might i add then Baskin Robins!) The owner is a great guy, always making conversation with his customers. it's a good change from other food joints.

While discussing my love of Susie's cheese fries and my disappointment at the other food on the menu a friend suggested I try Beef and Burger. Which for some reason I had never noticed. FInally tried it today and now regret the 7 years we have lived so close but never tasted it's totally unhealthy yet totally delicious goodness. Beef and Sausage combo-the bread was soaked in the delicious juice and both meats had distinct flavor. Also tried the gyro and we finally have a gyro place we like in the neighborhood. And the fries. Huge, thick, hot, fresh cut fries. Totally blissed out. I still have leftovers in the fridge and look forward to heating them up in the toaster oven for dinner. Or maybe right now since they are back on my mind... No it's not gourmet but nothing in that paper bag came out gross or overly greasy. Prices were right, portions were huge and even the tomatoes were fresh and not soggy. The food took a long time but it was worth it. Now we have the menu so we can call ahead and try to beat the crowd that was gathered.

I'm an expert on cheeseburgers, and for better or worse, I eat one almost every day. Due to my high volume intake, I was pretty damn surprised to find that the bacon cheeseburger I had at Beef & Burger might be one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. The meat and bun are sit-down restaurant quality. After considering what I just wrote, plus the friendly customer service of the owner, the always free french fries, and the relative low cost, I have to give this place 5 stars.

I've been here several times for burgers, hotdogs, polish sausages, gyros, fries and shakes. The food is just as good, if not better, than a nearby establishment and the service and quickness of preparation is by far more superior. Will continue to be a customer of this place!

  • Aaliyah S.

This place is awesome..I just wish that when you order for delivery, they give you at least somewhat of an estimated total price so you could have a tip amount prepared..on one occasion, the delivery driver complained about me not having the tip in hand, but I didn't even know my total amount,so of course my tip wasn't ready! I found him to be very rude..other than that,.i love this place

We order from here often and they have some great food for any occasion. The portions are extremely big for what you pay. If you need a quick place to eat with fast delivary time, then order from here.

  • Raymond A.

This place by far is the best location for a quick bite. The fries and cheese fries are better than Susie's next door. Quality, service, price and quantity are all 5-starts. The old greek man behind the counter has always been nice to me and made sure that I enjoyed my previous order when I would come back. If you are looking for some Gyros come here order the dinner plate which you can split between two people because the amount of food is good. Keep up the good work guys, also their milk shakes are good as well.

  • S D.

This joint is next door to Susie's. There are reasons to go to Susie's. But if you want a burger or gyros, go to Beef & Burger. The 5 stars are because I come only for gyros or burgers and they're both perfect here. And if you like cool old Greek men, platonically, or I guess s*xually as well, there's another perk coming to B&B. The milkshakes are good too...and the reasonably priced sandwiches all come with fries. No fast food fries...hand cut potatoes that are dank. They deliver too now but as I'm a block away I don't need it and can't review that aspect.

My boyfriend and I always go here when I am craving a philly cheese steak. It is cooked to perfection and it's so big I end up not being able to walk out of there. The fries are freshly cooked, but lately they have been loosing their taste. Seeing as they have good business the owner should invest in heating during the winter because you really can't enjoy your food thinking you might catch pneumonia. Other than that the food is great, friendly service, and affordable prices.

  • Nate C.

I finally made it in here after years of always going to the competition. I've been craving a real gyros that susie's never had and I was actually satisfied. The fries are nice and fresh also. I only have one gripe is that they put the sauce on the pita and by the time I get to work to eat it...45 min. or so, the pita breaks apart. Its awesome fresh but next time I get it to eat later, I'll be sure to have the sauce on the side or on top of the meat. I just wish they were open past midnite so I'd have an alternative place to go after work.

I was craving a good burger on a Sunday afternoon and being new to the area I checked on Yelp for something close by. Stumbled onto Beef & Burger and could not have been more satisfied. The shop is very small with just a few places to sit along the windows or outside if it's nice out but for me it's better to order and enjoy it at home. Ordered the double cheeseburger with fries (all sandwiches come with fries) and it was very tasty and made well. Just the right amount of vegis and condiments and the fries were thick and also very good. The older gentleman (the owner probably) behind the counter was super nice and seemed genuinely grateful for my business, which made the trip that much better because I like supporting places that care about their customers. I will definitely be back to try some other things on the menu.

Beef And Burger (formerly Golfo's) is my neighborhood Burger, hot dog, beef place. Their cheeseburgers are to die for. Their fresh cut fries are so good that I compare everyones fries to theirs. My Mom will eat no one elses fries. The owner who runs the register is so nice and is always friendly and courteous. Great fast food at great prices! Just went again tonight on the way home and the chesseburger was excellent. Such a big burger for the price! And the owner and his wife are SO nice and friendly. Its always busy too which is nice to see. I hope they're doing well and stay in the neighborhood for a long time.

I often wondered how this place can stay open next to the legendary and more popular susies 40 ft away. after giving it a chance I see why. The owner/counter man is extremely friendly and accomadating. The taste and quality is vastly superior to susies and the customers arent a bunch of hoods. you can choose susies ghetto minimum wage single moms to be at the counter or you get Beef and Burgers sweet man who sounds like and resembles alan arkin. their polish is realy good outside of jimmy's. the beef is way better than most places in the area. really well dipped and smoky. the only thing susies has on them is the variety of shakes, but B&B has better QUALITY shakes. It seems that susies is trying to milk as much out of their customers as possible. From now on unless I want an usual flavor or something B&B doesnt carry I wont be going to susies. Support this well run business.

Great little friendly hole-in-the-wall place to go grab some food. The chicken Philly is pretty awesome. Prices are very reasonable and service is great. Much better than the nasty 4am joint next door! *cough*

The chicken from this place is the best i've ever had. Even better then upscale restaurants. It's perfectly marinated in herbs and spices and never disappoints. You can have it on a pita (my favorite), a bun or in a salad. I get it so much the owner started suggesting other items on his menu every time he sees me (I promised him I would order something else). The fries are fresh and equally as delicious. The portions are generous (see pic). The place is small so I always take it to go. The owner is friendly and helpful, the service is fast, excellent prices, great food...what more could you ask for? Ever since I started frequenting this place, going down the street to Susie's has never crossed my mind.

believe the reviews. i'm not a burger person at all, but this one was top shelf. throw in great fries and friendly staff and we have a winner. i'm tough, so no 5 stars, but close.

I love Beef and Burger! Big Al and Mona are some of the nicest folks I know. The food is fresh, good quality and full of flavor. They are also now open late, open Sunday, offer delivery and take credit cards. Some of the household favs include cheeseburger, gyro, beef, pizza puff, Greek salad and fresh cut fries with cheese sauce. Also a big fan of their milkshakes with real fruit.

Not a bad little burger joint! I wouldn't put it in the category of "best kept secrets," but a nice little burger joint with good service, good food, and overall a decent experience. They have limited seating outside, but the staff was nice and the burgers were great for the price! The fries were a bit "eh"....but again, for the cost, the food was very good and in good sized servings. We went here when we found out Kuma's isn't doing carry-out anymore until the coming Fall, so I may have found a good alternative for carry out burgers.

I'm here a couple of times a week. While I was initially lured into to Susie's down the street by the neon and old-school charm, I've learned that this place makes a far better burger, polish, and gyro. The fries are pretty damned good, too.

When my fiance introduced me to Susie's drive in on Montrose, I thought I found heaven. It wasn't long, though, that I woke up and realized eating that much grease is just disgusting, and it's not okay that every person that served me food looked like they've been stuck in a grease box for too long. As a replacement, we found Beef & Burger, and this place is definitely much cleaner for a greasy joint. Everything about this place is better, cleaner foods, better tasting foods, and you don't feel like you are eating something that was just scraped off the floor. They even have salad choices and i can tell you that the greek salad is quite delicious. Their sandwiches are good and you get free fries with everything. I don't eat a lot of the choices offered at a greasy joint, but from what i have tried, I can tell you that this place is a much better alternative to Susie's drive in down the street. The owner is also incredibly nice, and although the food does come out a little slow, it's definitely worth it.

Heaven on earth is vanilla and chocolate swirled soft serve in a cone on a nice summer day. I crave twist cones every summer for two reasons. The first being that they are just delicious and second they remind me of my childhood and simpler times. I had been on a twist cone search only to find that McDonald's and Baskin Robins both don't have them, even though when I was younger they did. Which is slightly saddening. A friend of mine mentioned that Beef & Burger had them. Guess what....they do! B&B is my heaven on earth during the summer season.

Best fries in Old Irving, and would be a good competitor in several other neighborhoods too. Just can't give 5 stars to a fast food joint but if I've eaten here once, I've eaten at least two dozen times. Al is a sweetheart and everything is made to order and comes at you HOT. Gyros are fantastic. Lucky it's within walking distance.

OK, i really DO love Susie's, but my one gripe--besides the slow service, which I admit is often worth it--is their sub-par gyros. Beef & Burger has solved that problem with its generous portion of succulent, spit-roasted meat, thinly sliced and perfectly seasoned. To top that off, it's served with a heaping side of rich, garlicky tzatziki studded with recognizable, still-crisp shreds of cucumber. order your cheese fries at susie's, hop over to B&B for a gyros and get back across the street just in time to grab your spuds fresh out of the fryer. delectable!

Deee-lish!!! Great gyros, Italian beef, burgers and chili dogs.....but the fries, holy moses, are FANTASTIC (hand cut, skin-on, perfectly salted, mega-generous portions, served hot and 'free' with sandwiches). Nice, clean little place, friendly service, reasonable prices. This is pretty much 'to-go' only because there are no tables inside (there are chairs and a little ledge-counter, so you can eat in, just don't bring a crowd). I DO wish they were open a bit later (and they're CLOSED on Sundays), but the owner is always there when they are open, so I understand he needs a break. Food much better than Susie's, IMO.

  • Lori L.

Yummmmm.....the Greek salad with grilled chicken is to die for!!! The olive oil dressing will call you back over and over again. Also the grilled chicken sandwich on a Greek style pita. The seasoning they marinate the chicken in is outstanding. It leaves the chicken very moist and flavorful. Call ahead and have it ready and waiting.

Beef & Burger holds its own, despite the stiff competition from Susie's across the street. Beef & Burger has a smaller menu than Susie's, but seriously, who doesn't? Their burgers are fantastic, and the fresh cut fries are fantastic. Your food is freshly prepared, and the staff couldn't be nicer. I'm a big fan.

    (4)
  • Jacqueline O.

Wow..the owner AL must be the laziest man in the world. The poor fry cook was sweating his way through the orders, and AL sat at the register watching. The food was sub par, and not worth the trip. My first visit will be my last. The only reason I am giving two stars versus one is the fry cook's ability to juggle multiple tasks.

We love Beef & Burger. The food here is always so fresh and cooked right on the spot. Forget Susie's next door their food pales by comparison. The portions are generous and their prices are very reasonable. Get the hot dog special and you will get more french fries then you can possibly eat. Fresh cut and delish. The down side is they are not open late and the service can be slow. But when you are cooking freshly prepared food this will happen. The owners/employees are really nice. The Gyros is amazing. If you are getting to to go ask for the sauce on the side or you will have a soggy pita. Not their fault but it happens. The steak taco's are also ridiculously good. The shakes and icecream are also really good. Super clean place!

Love Beef and Burger!!! Great family-run place. We always visited when it was called Golfo's, under different ownership. It has actually gotten BETTER, which is actually hard to believe. It's super clean and updated now. Best burgers, gyros, milkshakes and fries! Incredible portions and free fries with every meal. You can't beat the prices, and they are open way more hours that Golfo's ever was...

Having been to Susie's often for a fast food fix - I would notice a huge crowd inside the Beef & Burger joint which is a store front just North of Susie's. For several weeks, I wondered what the draw was about until my fast food craving hit me in the middle of the morning. I got to the place and notice how small it is. No tables, just ledges where you can sit or stand to consume your meal. The grill/kitchen took up half the inside space. The choices varies from grilled chicken, steak sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs / polish, gyros, fried chicken, shrimp, some salads, shakes and Greek styled desserts- little of everything to hit all my cravings-the best part is that they hand cut their fries and the fries comes free with all sandwich orders. I couldn't decide what to order - so I played it safe and ordered an Italian beef combo with peppers. The fresh and hot fries were the best- the fries were so hot and crispy that you just want to devour them right away but can't because your mouth is burning from the hot oil. The sandwich had great flavor and the size was overwhelming- it was a mistake for me to try to drive home while trying to eat this thing. You definitely have to use two hands to take on the sandwich. One set-back was that I ordered my sandwich "dry"-not dipped-and they had dipped it which made it more of a challenge to keep the "thing" together and not made a huge mess in the car. After the meal - I couldn't eat anymore for the rest of the day. I will be back, and next time, go early to avoid the crowds and dine in.

the staff here is super nice. it is usually two guys behind the counter. the tacos are HUGE and delicious, one is more than enough to eat. my friend gets the gyros and he said it is much better than others he has had. all of the meats are delicious and seasoned well, but not too salty tasting. the large fry is GIGANTIC, but fantastic to share with you and two friends or so. they are fluffy in the middle crisp on the outside. mmm.

I like Kuma's but this place has a better burger. This burger is even better than The Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas. The frys are hand cut and perfect. The milk shakes are good too. Number 1 in my book for the perfect burger! Been here many times than any other burger joint on this planet! Best kept secret.

I've been here several times for burgers, hotdogs, polish sausages, gyros, fries and shakes. The food is just as good, if not better, than a nearby establishment and the service and quickness of preparation is by far more superior. Will continue to be a customer of this place!

I had the double cheeseburger with fries. The burger was very good. It was juicy and grilled just right. The toppings were fresh. The fries were good home cut style. The flavor was really good and cooked perfect. It's a little small inside with a table along the window. I look forward to returning and trying some of the other food.

  • Jeet P.

*cough*

  • Alex S.

To top that off, it's served with a heaping side of rich, garlicky tzatziki studded with recognizable, still-crisp shreds of cucumber. order your cheese fries at susie's, hop over to B&B for a gyros and get back across the street just in time to grab your spuds fresh out of the fryer. delectable!

I will be back, and next time, go early to avoid the crowds and dine in.

the staff here is super nice. it is usually two guys behind the counter. the tacos are HUGE and delicious, one is more than enough to eat. my friend gets the gyros and he said it is much better than others he has had. all of the meats are delicious and seasoned well, but not too salty tasting. the large fry is GIGANTIC, but fantastic to share with you and two friends or so. they are fluffy in the middle crisp on the outside. mmm.

I've been here several times for burgers, hotdogs, polish sausages, gyros, fries and shakes. The food is just as good, if not better, than a nearby establishment and the service and quickness of preparation is by far more superior. Will continue to be a customer of this place!

Gyros! and shakes and huge steak cut frites! call ahead for quick pick up or delivery. Much better noms than some other close by joints, but not 24 hours;/ nicer peoples behind the counter too! #bonus

Great little friendly hole-in-the-wall place to go grab some food. The chicken Philly is pretty awesome. Prices are very reasonable and service is great. Much better than the nasty 4am joint next door! *cough*

  • Alex S.

I had the double cheeseburger with fries. The burger was very good. It was juicy and grilled just right. The toppings were fresh. The fries were good home cut style. The flavor was really good and cooked perfect. It's a little small inside with a table along the window. I look forward to returning and trying some of the other food.

  • J.M S.

Everything about this greasy little grill is solid. Better than average because: fries come with everything; owner is friendly; prices are low; gyros and burgers are particularly tasty.

  • Sarah H.

  • Jessica C.

I'm here a couple of times a week. While I was initially lured into to Susie's down the street by the neon and old-school charm, I've learned that this place makes a far better burger, polish, and gyro. The fries are pretty damned good, too.

    (4)
  • Megan L.

  • Suzy C.

I will be back, and next time, go early to avoid the crowds and dine in.

the staff here is super nice. it is usually two guys behind the counter. the tacos are HUGE and delicious, one is more than enough to eat. my friend gets the gyros and he said it is much better than others he has had. all of the meats are delicious and seasoned well, but not too salty tasting. the large fry is GIGANTIC, but fantastic to share with you and two friends or so. they are fluffy in the middle crisp on the outside. mmm.

  • Jaxx H.
