I can't comment on anything about the actual restaurant, but I will tell you that we drove all the way over at 5pm on a Sunday just to be told that they close early on Sundays. Please change your hours on yelp and also on the sign on YOUR DOOR if these are not your actual hours.

Quiet, clean and impeccable service is what you can expect at 4 Yolks. I did not like the watery bearnaise sauce or soggy muffin, I would not suggest the eggs benedict. However, the soup of the day and blueberry pancakes were delicious! I saw extremely pleased with the service which is why I would go back to try it again!

Got breakfast from here. I loved it. Better than your average breakfast food. The portions were great, food was cooked perfectly, service was fast, driver was a little late but called ahead of time. Will be ordering again! :D

If I could put no stars or half of one, I would have. Absolutely terrible food and service. My friend and I each ordered coffee, water, and eggs Benedict with a cup of cream of chicken rice soup. Soup was decent but that is where it ends. Slowest service I have ever experienced and it wasn't because they were busy, the waitress simply didn't give a care. Instead of potatoes with my meal I asked for cottage cheese. Big mistake! I took a huge spoonful and realized too late that it had gone bad. Considering there were no napkins and finding the waitress to get one was impossible I ended up having to go to the bathroom to deposit the spoiled cottage cheese. Told the manager? Owner? And she just said let me go check. Wtf? No offer of something else until my friend spoke up. I refused anything additional as I was just over it. Took another 15 minutes to get a box and check, a check that mind you, showed no compensation whatsoever for the disaster of a breakfast. Never again!

Today was my first time here and we'll definitely be back! Don't be turned off the the sketchy sign outside, the restaurant feels warm and inviting inside! We had the eggs florentine and a Greek skillet--both delicious. Pancakes were also a hit, and they had fresh fruit as a side. Portion size was good and our bill was under $20! Can't wait to go back.

Just had an amazing lunch there. It doesn't look like much from the outside and I was shocked at how cute the decor was. I had a ranchero omelette and my husband had the meat lovers. The portion sizes are great. I'm a fan of big portions. We could have split a meal and still had leftovers. I am so full, and I'm 7 months pregnant. That says a lot. Super friendly knowledgable server. I saw the owner talking to a few other customers. It's nice to put a face to the place. I already want to go back for dinner.

I like this place. Plain old neighborhood spot. Do not blink or you will miss it! Service good. Food good. May try her for a meal other than breakfast. Raisin French toast was okay. I prefer the bacon and eggs.

A low key spot, friendly waitress. This place caught my eye because of the location and after looking the reviews up on Yelp I figured I give it a try. I ordered the chipotle skillet and I was not that impressed. The tomatoes in the skillet were bigger than the pieces of steak. It seemed like they cut a skirt steak in half and then cut that into tiny little pieces. Pros Staff Menu options Price Cons Quality Just not up to standards when it comes to breakfast spots for me. If you're in the area take the time to check out Blossom Cafe, the premiere breakfast spot in the area. Cheers,

I have been here three times ( because I truly want to love this place) and TWICE found hair in my food. C'mon guys.. seems like I am not the only one according to other reviews. My second time was on a Sunday morning. The service was HORRIBLE that I seriously wanted to tip myself or give it to the cook. The waitress, an older lady, gave us the wrong food then had to go back and get ours, brought back what we ordered and never checked on us again. Sure, it was fairly busy. But can we atleast have some silverware? I had to walk up the bar and ask for some. Then I needed ketchup, tried to get my waitress's attention and was ignored. I embarrassingly (for them) walked back up to the bar and asked for ketchup. We finished our meal and waited for the check. GUESS WHAT? I had to walk back up to the bar and ask for it. The guy at the bar who seems to be the owner apologized and said "its very busy." I get that, I understand. So hire more people! I always feel bad for waitresses when it's busy, I have been there and it sucks. I don't really plan on going back, which is sad cause it's a couple of blocks away and I like their skillets and prices (the two stars). I hope things improve, maybe Ill go back in 3 months to check it out. I might order for pickup (so I can wait on myself) and cross my fingers for no hair.

So I ordered today around 230, said food would be here by 3:55. The food did not get here until 4:20. So I was already a bit upset from that. Then I took the food out and tried the stuffed French toast, it was ok but it was super cold. Then I tried the pancakes which tasted really good but again was so darn cold. Then I tried the chorizo skillet and the first thing I noticed was no cheese or salsa even though it said it comes with it. This was also cold but the flavor was good. The potions were generous though. This review is solely based on delivery. I'd give it another try but actually sit down at the restaurant.

I absolutely love this place. They have so much of a food selection that would please anyone. It's a very quiet and comfortable little place. I highly recommend it! Service is fast and friendly! Bon appetite!

Good decent breakfast nearby. I tried the chilaquiles, at first they looked a little pale so I'm thinking oh no, bland , canned, who knows! Actually very surprised they were very tasty and not spicy (which I like) and just asked for a side of homemade salsa. The skillets are also good. They ran out turkey sausage which made me sad.

My experience at 4 yalks today ( tuesday morning ) was the worst experience ever - talking about service in this place! I'm writing my first review on yelp because it was that bad. Me and my kids were the only table there! Waitress took the order . Later she place our food on the table and that's was all . She never ask me if we need anything else. I have to go and take silverware from another table. I have to get her attention to get refill of coffee and ask for water . The way she look at me ... OMG . I'm experience waitress Working at the breakfast place! I always tip great 25-35% Because I know how this girls making money. Today for the first time I tip $2 Out of $27 Sorry but you need to be nice and take care of your customers. I feel bad for this place. Food is really good Place it small and nice. They should hire some nice girls with personality. I'm sure they will have much more business then!

This morning I went to church at St Ferdinand for a mass in memory of my mother in laws death anniversary. My wife, her 2 brothers, sister in law and niece decided to go to breakfast/brunch afterwards. We found 4 Yolks on Harlem Ave just south of Diversey Ave. It's a small restaurant That is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was a pretty good crowd of people inside. Nice interior and clean. We started to peruse the menu and found a very large selection of meal items for anytime of the day. Everything to Mexican to American cuisine. I ended up selecting the Huevous Ranchero as I had a taste for Mexican food. This came with corn tortillas. My wife got a fajita skillet. When the food came and we started eating we decided to swap. They were decent size portions very reasonably priced, but really didn't have anything noteworthy. The waitress however was awesome. She never missed a beat even though she was serving a number of tables. I heard people asking her for 4 things @ 3 tables and she promptly went and got what the customers wanted. Stellar performance 5+ Food 3

This place surpassed my expectations for a small local diner. The food was fresh and amazing and the staff accommodated my party of 8 and let us enjoy a 2 hour lunch without hurrying us. The San Diego Sunrise platter was brilliant (I got it sans hollandaise sauce) and came with a chopped steak topped with two eggs, fresh tomato slices and avocado, and three potato pancakes. Everybody liked their food. They delivered the 8th meal pretty late but the food quality and friendly service outpaced the slack. The yelp check in offer was a nice suprise. The coffee is mediocre diner standard. The menu was very affordable.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch for my sisters birthday a total of 5 of us and a child. The place is fairly small and doesn't have much room to accommodate large groups. MY VERY FIRST IMPRESSION I would have to say was walk out. The place was somewhat busy not to the point were I felt it was ok that were not acknowledged when we walked in. NO hello no wait here and there aren't any signs to wait anywhere. So I was a little pissy when I wasn't greeted as we stood there looking like dear in headlights. We managed to seat ourselves in a table large enough for us 5 and the waitress came back and just asked what we wanted to drink. Not the most warm welcome but however we did not leave and continued to explore the menu. I ordered a meat skillet with over easy egg and it wasn't too bad. Food was cooked to order but I wasn't impressed but I also didn't think it was horrible. Everyone at the table did enjoy there food and it came out in a timely manner and the portions were pretty large. I may think about coming back to this place because it's so close to home, but they need some serious work with their customer service and this place will be in great shape!..

I went here for breakfast on a Monday with my wife and daughter around 9am. There were only 3 tables seated. By the time we left there were no open tables. There was only one server for the entire floor. We felt sorry for her running around by herself. The food was not very good. My wife ordered steak and eggs. The steak was way overcooked and had a strange metallic taste to it. None of her eggs were cooked as ordered. I had the corned beef hash skillet. 1 out of the 3 eggs were cooked as ordered and my pancakes were still raw. My daughters burger looked pretty good. This place would be an absolute gem if they got their act together food and service wise. Also, a table sitting next to us left shortly after seated due to the coffee cups not being clean. The server had to go through an entire tray of coffee cups to find an acceptably clean coffee cup for them.

I'll be short with my review here. Food 3/5; Service 2/5; Facility 4/5. They try to keep it clean, well organized, but is doesn't work. No silver at the table, butter for the toast is frozen, no jam. Some tables were left dirty even though it wasn't even busy. Coffee is so watery that you don't want refill. American potatoes are dry, appearance of the food is okay. I'll try it one more time in a month, and i will update my review. Hope it will change for better, especially the service.

Went to this place for the first time this morning. Breakfast is my favorite food and I was so excited to try it! We-my boyfriend and I-got there and were immediately greeted. Very friendly staff. We both had a cup of coffee. My coffee cup had a hair in it, so I was a little put off at the beginning and was nervous for the rest of the meal. I got over it. The menu is HUGE and took me a long time to decide! Mostly because at breakfast I want some of everything. I am a vegetarian and I decided on a vegetable skillet which came with a choice of toast or pancakes. I chose pancakes. My boyfriend ordered the French connection meal: 2 eggs, French toast, bacon, and sausage. His meal was definitely bland. There is no way around that. His scrambled eggs tasted like the powder eggs. Yuck. The thick French toast was not thick at all. My meal, on the other hand, was quite good. The veggies were all fresh and the eggs (which I ordered over medium) were cooked perfectly. The pancakes had decent flavor. The food came quickly and was hot. Definitely a must in my book. I am not a fan of places where the syrup is served in little plastic cups, but we pick and choose our battles. I gave it three stars mostly because of how bland the food was. Our server was great and my coffee or water never got empty. I will give this place another try and hopefully it will be better!

.. What a wonderful experience.. We were greeted with a friendly hello, seated promptly and our server came over quickly and introduced himself (Gabriel) which I love when people introduce themselves.Coffee is really good , as is the Oj and the food was served quickly and I really wish this local new favorite breakfast place a long successful stay.. Oh and the menu is very extensive but breakfast is served all day. Please stop in and support 4 Yolks. You will be happy

I'm still clearing ketchup off my plate with my last few fries as I write this review. I literally wanted to waste NO time in getting this place some momentum following their grand opening. When my mailman first dropped off their menu at my work, I began to worry. Their menu is huge. They have everything from omelettes, to skillets, hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, club sandwiches, salads, steaks, tacos, crepes, pancakes, burgers, appetizers.....oh my gosh. The list goes on. My coworker and I decided to place an order for pickup right away. Overwhelmed, I decided to stick with something that I know I will often eat. A veggie burger. Most places I order veggie burgers from are veggie patties such as Boca or Morningstar, and the places with homemade veggie patties fail in making a good patty. This veggie patty was perfect. Perfect texture, perfect flavoring, I absolutely loved it. The bun was fantastic as well. Homemade, soft, and huge. My meat eating coworker got a South of the Border burger and said it was delicious. They cooked it perfectly to his request. He was very pleased with his selection. The fries served with both burgers were very good. Not soggy like a lot of places. Crispy on the outside and soft and potatoey on the inside. For what this place is, a small neighborhood breakfast/lunch joint, it gets a well-deserved 5 stars. A nice addition to a neighborhood dead of breakfast food. Finally, I can get a good egg breakfast at work on a weekday morning without eating nasty 7/11 breakfast sandwiches.

Went there on Friday for breakfast with my girlfriend and we will never go back. Ordered the huevos con chorizo because on a previous visit another table ordered it and it looked delicious and huge. After 25 minutes and no coffee refill the waitress came back with our breakfast. My plate consisted of chorizo and eggs and rice. The portions were basically 2 small eggs and a serving spoon of rice. No beans, no salsa, and a whole lot of empty space on my plate. When we asked the waitress about the missing beams we were told that they ran out. I wish she would have told me that before I ordered or possibly informed me before they put the order in so I could substitute something for the beans instead but all I got was a"we ran out" response before she dropped the plates on the table and walked away with a curt "I'll get you more coffee" which didn't come until the meal was almost done from a gentleman working behind the counter. Both the waitress and gentleman were filling everyone's code in the other side of the restaurant but not where we were sitting. I almost forgot that I received 3 tortillas that had some sorry of brown sticky substance on it. I know what burnt tortillas are and this was something i couldn't identify. Never received a check from the waitress and had to go up to the register to finally get some service. When asked for our check she added it up for the full amount without a word about the sorry plates. Shame on you. The girl rang me up without asking if everything was OK but i expect she didn't want to hear about the missing food as the previous 3 customers to pay all complained of the same thing. It's funny but both times we ate here we heard customers leaving saying how they would never come back, I guess we will join that group also. I understand your a new business but this is no way to pay the bills. Most businesses build a customer base so they come back for more great food and service, not grab the money and run. NO STARS!

I drove past this place a few months ago and kept it in mind for a Sunday I had time to go out for breakfast. I ran a few errands this last sunday and decided to stop in and give them a try. It was about 11:15 and they were fully seated. It looked like there were only two waitresses who had their hands full. People wanted to leave to make room for people leaving but were waiting to get checks. A party of 6 came in after me and an elderly couple as well. The couple left, not wanting to wait. The party of 6 was seated before me which kind of bothered me as I had been waiting about 10 min by that time and I saw that a table was opening up. Ok, I get a 6 party table will make more $s than a 1 person table, but they had to wait about another 5 min for the table next to the empty one to clear to seat the party of 6 and another table right next to it was clearing out as well. Since I knew another table would be available soon I did not say anything. The menu is very large. I ordered a small bisquit and gravy, and Denver omlette with pancakes instead of toast. The bisquit was large and fluffy but the gravy lacked flavor and had very little sausage in it. The pancakes were kind of chewy. The omlette was a good size and fluffy and not overcooked and the cheese was in the middle like it should be and not off to one end. The hash browns were nicely crispy on top. Service is about as good as it can be for a very busy small establishment. Like I said, it looked like there were only 2 waitresses there that day. I am not sure how many the establishment seats, it is not large. Sometimes it can take a bit to get your waitress' attention. The place is clean and neat. It was standard breakfast fare - but I did not order anything fancy. Definitely better than going to chain restaurant for breakfast food. I will go back again and try something else off the large menu. If you go on a Sunday morning - prepare to wait like you would any other breakfast stop. Parking is limited as it is in a tiny strip mall. I parked down the street.

Super friendly. Super helpful. The potato pancakes are weird. The stuffed french toast was good. If they intend on staying open they have to step up their food game. It was wonderful potential though. To sum it up, its a decent place.

My first time in and what a surprise, Real Home Made Hash Browns Potatoes. That was a treat ! I've always hated those manufactured potato shreds most places serve.

I heard great things about the place so pretty excited to have breakfast here. First let me start by stating its a cute lil place with a diner feel but down to earth ambience. Its a pretty busy place so it'll take time for service. Be patient. The people are very friendly. Now to the bad part. Our order wasn't up to par. I ordered Denver Potatoes Pancakes that came with 2 eggs and a side of bacon. I must add that our whole order from our table looked great. I received pan cakes with wheat and Denver mixture inside. I love potatoes pancakes but this def was not what I expected. They did take it off the bill but looking at the menu no such reference of wheat was in there. Eggs were runny but all in all not bad. Next time I'll stay with simple. Its at least worth the try.

I been here a few time because I live close by. The problem I've experienced, is the inconsistency of the food. It can be exceptional or very bad. They constantly don't have items listed on the menu. I have ordered dinners that come with free pie, but they never seem to have it. I also ordered the roast turkey dinner and got some very gross turkey loaf. The servers are very welcoming, but screw up some thing on every order. I've ordered pasta with meat sauce and get marinara sauce. Ask for gravy on the side, get gravy on every thing. Have gotten soda out of a bottle instead of the tap, which was flat. Have ordered a chicken and mushroom dish and was told they had no mushrooms. Yet, I continue to keep going back, because, I think if they get their act together, they would be great.

Very good food. Notice, I didn't say great. To me, if you want great food then you will be paying a lot more money and you need to go to a banquet hall or the sorts, not a family restaurant. The staff if fantastic and friendly. Especially the tall guy. (Said his name but I do not remember! Sorry bud!!) Great diverse menu. Water constantly refilled. Thought I was a fish!! Must try breakfast one day. I give you an A+.

Yum! Finally a local diner with clean dining room, tasty food, and friendly staff. They are reasonably priced and keep the hot coffee flowing. I'm excited to have a place to swing into with the kids, grab a BLT or maybe splurge on a fresh off the griddle short stack. Thanks 4 Yolks!

I just moved to the area a little over a week ago, and it's safe to say I have found my new go-to breakfast place after going here this morning. The food was excellent, the service was extremely quick, and the staff was very friendly. If you're in the area, or even if you aren't, this place is definitely worth a shot. The menu offers plenty of options for even picky eaters like myself.

Very nice and clean place with uncomfortable seating tbh.. The chicken noodle soup was pretty good and I also ordered a 2x4 breakfast meal which were 2 scrambled eggs and 4 pancakes which honestly weren't good at all ... They were too thin and just not pleasing ... Worst of all was a bad stomach ache right after I left the place so obviously something I ate had been bad as well as my gf ... Not going here no more rather go to golden nuggets .

We went here for breakfast and did not disappoint. The staff was super attentive and on point. Food is pretty average fare for breakfast but the service makes it nice here. We live close by so this place will be a great addition to our list of places in the neighborhood. P.S. The homemade ranchero sauce is homemade and yummy!

First off service is very slow. We waited 47 minutes for our food. My grandson ordered sunny side up eggs. They were raw. Not runny. RAW. We sent them back and then they came back only partially raw. So they went back again. He got them over medium to be safe. Food was good but not better than any other place in the area. Won't be going back because of the long wait.

Good quick service. Serves breakfast from 6am to 9pm. I would recommend the pancakes. The bacon was a bit over done for my tastes, but that is a personal preference.
