I'm having a hard time understanding the bad reviews of Beggars Pizza. Full disclosure: I eat a LOT of pizza. Too much, in fact. The Kankakee area has many pizza places, ranging in quality from excellent to poor in my opinion. On the other hand, my wife hates pizza. And I have to beg to to eat it, unless it comes from Beggars. Whether thin or thick, their pizza is consistently good. I can't say that about some of their local rivals. When dining in, their service is at least above average and usually excellent. Pro tip: try a double sausage thin crust. (There's already a ton of cheese.) I had my mother - also no pizza lover - try it recently and she clamored for more. Another surprise: the chicken wings were surprisingly good. I ordered them plain with sauces on the side and enjoyed them. I wish they had expanded the buffet rather than cut it back to Sundays only. All in all, guess I have to respect the detractors of this place. But I'm not one of them. Maybe I would dislike the pizza places the haters love. But to my tastes, Beggars makes a good solid pizza.

I came here for the lunch buffet. There really are not a lot of choices around here and I know the name from back home. I was seated right away and got my soda lickity split. Everything was just warm. So on the deep dish pizza the thick cheese was hard. The sauce was too sweet. Being Italian I know that if it's sweet, that means they didn't boil it down to get rid of the acid in the tomatos. They just covered it up by adding sugar. Straight to hell, do not pass go and do not touch the two hundred dollars. This is one kick in the pants above the Hut. But it was just lunch in the sticks!

We were regulars at Beggars in Bradley until tonight. We were seated upstairs. Our drink orders were taken quickly and we ordered our pizzas. Pizzas took 45 minutes in a fairly empty restaurant. Th whole time we had very poor service from our waitress - Dawn and had trouble getting drink refills and even getting the bill paid. I complained to the manager and let him know that our waitress was ignoring us to eat her dinner. He appologized but we wont be back. There is an awesome Aurelios Pizza just up the road that we will go to from now on - you should too.

Beggars pizza is one of my top 3 pizzas. Been waiting to get a good pizza place in this area. I always get take out and have never had a problem. I always show up early to make sure I get my pizza right out of the oven. Everyone's always nice and place is clean inside. No slacking as far as the pizza goes. They do indeed lay it on thick. Never a lack of ingredients! Try it you'll love it.

We tried the lunch buffet today....we heard this chain was supposed to have good pizza...we got there before 1 p.m. and the place was empty (lunch buffet runs 'til 2 p.m.). Greeted fairly promptly and drink order taken/served. Not much attention from staff otherwise. There was a "fresh" sausage pizza put out on buffet after we'd been there about 30 mins and crust was soggy on it but nothing else was refreshed. Food was barely warm, cheese solid on pizza, crust soggy, pasta at steam table was dried up and salad bar looked sad. Several large chunks of gristle found in sausage links from buffet and on sausage pizza (just about broke a tooth). I will not try another Beggars Pizza after this experience.

This is not beggars pizza, for anyone who is from anywhere there is a beggars pizza, the crust is different the ingredients tastes different and 9/10 time the crust is charred to a crisp black, when eating in be aware the service is slow and the staff is pretty non existent! I'd recommend making the drive to the university park beggars before wasting your money here!

This pizza is awesome. Great customer service also. They use real Italian sausage and real thick cheeze. I recommend this place big time.

OMG Reads these reviews first. We did not!! Stomach still try to digest their Raw Pizza lunch Buffet!! $ 16.00 wasted. Salad bar!! Really!! Scrape the bottom of each container to get contents of Salad? Bar. The worst Pizza and the worst Salad Bar. Truck Stops serve higher quality food.

27 dollars for a large thin crust pizza and they use canned mushrooms! Seriously canned mushrooms! I won't be back!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
