Ko Sushi Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

The 5 Stars are solely for the Red Dragon Roll. I was a little cautious about ordering sushi in the area as I live downtown, but I ordered takeout two days ago. The sushi was so fresh and the roll compared to some of the best I've had. Definitely will be back for the same roll.

I have been to Ko's Sushi place since it opened few years back. I thought it was one of the best at that time. Enjoyed so much. Sorry to say that but the quality of the fish has gone down . Will stop going there for a while. One of the waitresses also needs some smile and training.

We love going to their lunch buffets. Sushi is good but the rest of the entrees in their menu needs polishing. The staff is great except for a young asian server who is a bit on the lazy side. She would rather focus on her phone than do her job and the other male employee tries to cover all the tables. It came to a point we stood up to hand over our orders personally and asked for a pitcher of water to refill our glasses and handed it over to the next table so they could refill their glasses too.

Last night, I ate out at Ko and the experience was fine. Two servers handled our table and between the two of them, we were waited on with great attention. The quality of the sashimi was good and the food was brought to us quickly. Also pretty affordable!

We came in on a Sunday night and the place was pretty empty but very clean. We ordered the Godzilla and Angel Hair Rolls - both were delicious. They even gave us the House Special Roll for free - also delicious. The large Saki was a little small but we managed. I'm only giving four stars because the service wasn't stellar. I would definitely return to this restaurant to try out their menu further!

First time diner at this place. I've heard good things about their sushi so we decided to try it. The restaurant is small and long. The flooring is terrible! I slipped and saw several others do the same. I was waiting for an accident to happen. The service was confusing as a few different girls waited on us, so we didn't have a dedicated server. The service was attentive, though. We ordered three sushi rolls, two regular maki and one specialty roll. The yellowtail/scallion and the unagi (eel) rolls had large pieces of fish and were good. The specialty roll we ordered was Ko's House Roll. It was a very huge roll and impossible to eat in one bite, but full of flavor. Very good. One of the servers gave us complimentary mochi after our meal, which was a very nice touch and a great way to end the meal. Ko's menu had a good variety of raw and cooked sushi and other Asian meals, like soups and noodles. I will definitely go back to try other sushi offerings.

I am giving this four stars because I really do think this is the best quality sushi in the area. The lunch can specials are decent and you can also come here for $19.99 AYCE sushi. However, this is another establishment where service is just not where it should be. Sometimes you luck out and get the waitress that speaks to you, is attentive, and is generally great at her job. Sometimes you don't. Prepare to spend much more time here than you think it should actually take to eat lunch. Even when this place is empty it can be quite slow. It can also be quite disappointing when you come for one specific item (I'm looking at you, uni!) and it's not available. If you're not in a hurry, I would still say to give this place a try.

Went there with a friend. Ordered the regular sushi for 2. The sushi are fresh. Will definitely come back.

Have dined in and ordered carry out on several occasions and am so happy to have such a sushi gem like this in my area. The sushi is fresh and flavorful, and on 2-3 occasions I have received free appetizers along with my orders! The ambience inside the restaurant is cool and modern. The inside is small and is in a strip mall next to a Dunkin Donuts, but don't let that discourage you at all from trying this place! Also, special shout out to the sushi chefs! They are so kind and sometimes have greeted me even before the hostess does! For anyone who works as KO Sushi that may potentially read this, my only complaint is the music that auto plays on your website. It's nothing major, but maybe as a courtesy for customers who maybe looking at your website during lunchtime in class only to have elevator music blast and having the whole classroom just stare at you .... have a mute feature or a stop feature for the music! :)

KO Sushi is amazing! I'm so happy that there is an amazing sushi spot by the house. Anything and everything you order here will be beyond expectations -I PROMISE! Sushi is a pretty price but am ecstatic lunch specials are very affordable! My go-to dinner order is: Chicken Katsu Pad Thai Sweet Potato Roll Boston Roll Spider Roll (A random special roll) I guess the only negative is that the miso soup is lacking a bit of the fillings. But everything else makes up for it!

This restaurant was AWESOME when it first opened. I would go all the time. I thought it was much better than my favorite place in Romeoville. It seems to me that the quality of the sushi has gone down. The rolls are not rolled tight. When you try to pick it up it falls apart. Fighting loose sushi rolls does not make a pleasant dining experience for me. And I LOVE the volcano roll but they way the cut this roll now makes no sense and is very difficult to pick up. Yesterday it was cut diagonally and weird. Another common problem that I have noticed is incomplete orders. We would order different appetizers and/or rolls and we just would not get them all. We would have to remind them of missing items often. I can understand if it happens rarely, things happen, but this has become the norm and not the exception. Finally I'm noticing the presentation of dishes has gone WAYYYYYY down. It's not uniform. Different people at the same table would order the same dish and it would not be the same at all. Different serving dish and different presentation. It would be great to get the service and food that we used to get when this restaurant first opened. It was awesome food, for great value. Well worth the price. Now i don't think so. It seems the pride has left the building. Please get that back and take pride in your service and your food and I will be a regular once again..

Terrific place!!Not very cheap not very expensive! They always bring us one free sushi plate which is really cool! My favorite is their fried kind sushi, seaweed salad and eel with rice. I drive all the way from Chicago just to eat here. The atmosphere and service is also great! I highly recommend this place!

Usual experience is dine in(no reviews because it's always a hit or miss), but did take out today for the sake of time. The lunch special is served Monday through Saturday from 11:30AM to 2:30 PM. Ordered two lunch sushi and sashimi combos. It comes with 4 pieces of nigiri/sushi and 6 pieces of sashimi. Instead of the California roll, I opted for $1 more per order, the spicy tuna roll. Lunch comes with a miso soup. Pretty generous portions if you ask me. The 3 stars is due to the fact that it is a takeout order, I didn't particularly like the fact that 2 hot miso soups were packed on top of the sushi, apparently my name is RINDA, and I found a piece of fish scale in the spicy tuna roll. Nothing too outrageous. You know, it was just unpleasant. The food itself was great for the price. I do keep coming back here because I support small and local businesses. However, the level of service definitely can improve here.

Me and my husband came here and I'm writing a review for our second time. The first time was great and the prices were reasonable for the amount of maki and sushi we got. All of their food is fresh and they have great customer service the 2 times we have came. I have been to Edo in Joliet and 3 other sushi places now as me and my husband wanted to try them and find out for ourselves. Highest ranked was the one in Bolingbrook Promenade called Tamari but it wasn't as good as KO just fancier place and way more expensive. KO will be our go to sushi restaurant in our area from now on, definitely recommend!

My new absolute fav sushi restaurant! The waitresses are the worse possible, very rude and took forever to take our order but the food made up for it completely! We got the edemame, the Godzilla roll, the mermaid roll and the sweetheart roll, every one of them were amazing, rolls were not to big for your mouth, and easy to pick up. They also sent us a completely dish that was very good aswell. It's very pretty in there, and smaller which is nice, I will defiantly be coming back often! It's do hard to find a great sushi place, blue ginger was my fav till it closed down so I'm happy to of found KO Sushi! Great fir a date, and price is not bad at all, wonderful plating too! I can't say enough good things about this place! Yay :-D

  • Diana K.

It is by far the best sushi place that is closest to me for the price and quality. Call ahead though if you like tuna. As a best seller, you'd think they would keep it in stock but they run out of it pretty quick. Expected service for an Asian place in Bolingbrook. Their spicy scallop role is my favorite.

I haven't been out for sushi in years (maybe 10?) Regardless of how many, it has been a very long time. This was my "re-introduction" to the cuisine and I was impressed to say the least. Don't ask me what I had because I wouldn't know if you asked. I made my dinner-mates make the decisions and I just ate. It is what I do do best really. It really seemed that each dish was better than the last. I found my self getting more excited to try each new dish. I was sad when the meal was over. Not only did the food impress me, the service and the facility was top notch. I think it is time to go back soon...

I really really liked this place when it originally opened and was super excited to see a sushi place FINALLY opening up in Bolingbrook. When they opened, I would definitely say it was at a minimum of 4 stars. However, in the past year, I'm sad to say the sashimi has come out frozen more often than not. When we tell the staff, we are told it's frozen 'because it's so fresh." Last week I took a friend for lunch and she ordered the Chirashi, which she loved. So this week, we brought her husband and went back and they ordered the same thing. This time it came out w/ mostly egg and fake crab, and no fish. Even the plating was different, and this is in a week's time. When I called the waitress over, they insisted it was the same thing even though I explained we had the same thing last week with a completely different array of fish and on a different plate. Further, the majority of their wait staff seems overtired and overworked. There is one Asian waitress in particular who actually WALKS AWAY while you are still talking to her. I was asking for a lemon (for the 3rd time) and she walked away in the middle of my sentence. I think she was going to actually get the lemon for me but please, let's have some courtesy here and can you wait until I finish my sentence? I just watched an episode of Kitchen Nightmares and they featured a sushi restaurant where the fish was frozen and NOT fresh and it finally clicked for me that this restaurant is serving frozen sashimi. My sister and I had take out this evening and it was half frozen. It started out so good, but unfortunately, we will not be returning to this restaurant. We need to go someplace where the fish is FRESH and not frozen.

When I lived in Bolingbrook, I would come here at least once a month. This time, I got the sashimi special and the portions were very healthy. The evening waitress was friendly and attentive. The best sushi in Bolingbrook, Il.

I definitely agree with the other people here. The service and food definitely gone down. They were way better when they first opened. It's mediocre now. I'm definitely in the market for a new sushi place...

  • Holly H.

Really good sushi with reasonable prices. The lunch special is a great value and super filling for less than $10. The rolls aren't rolled very tight, which is a pain, and the only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars.

I typically only review when I have a bad experience. It's about time that I start reviewing when I have a pleasant experience. Having traveled world-wide for many years, it's seldom that I find Sushi worth commenting on. I went on a Sushi "hiatus" after eating Toriwasi and Basashi Sashimi as well as Jellyfish Sushi in China - I was sick for a week and well, I'll just leave it at that! :) This was my first visit to Ko Sushi - I typically frequent another Sushi restaurant. The atmosphere and service at Ko was excellent - our table was visited multiple times asking if we needed refills of tea and water. I had the Spicy Tuna Rolls (3), Salmon Roll (1) and (3) Tuna Nigiri - all fish was fresh and prepared with care. Presentation was consistent on all dishes. This was the first time that I feel like I ate an entire aquarium - I am sure the "all you can eat" didn't help. The overall experience was excellent and I will be recommending Ko to family and friends. Would I go back? Absolutely! FYI - the total check including tip (standard 20%) was $56. I highly recommend the all you can eat lunch special for the experienced and inexperienced!

Sushi was good, but not the best. Although it didn't take long for our orders to arrive, it also didn't taste any different from other places I've tried. On the plus side, their lunch special was good. Two rolls for $7.99 and three for $10.99. If you have a hearty appetite you'd do well to get their all you can eat for $19.99. However, you would have to pay $1 for each one you can't eat. As for the service, the waitress was not very friendly. Not once did she smile and she made it seem like it was such a hassle when we asked for something. Definitely did not like that. All in all, Ko Sushi was okay but it was not impressive.

I like the setup of the place, its cute and cozy and the food is great too I like that you can substitute for brown rice, if you're feeling health conscious I've tried their sushi and entree items, and I've been satisfied both times Nice addition to this side of town, considering almost everything here is franchised.

I wanted sushi & Yelp pointed me to Ko's. This is another of those cozy little hole in the wall places that if you didn't know where it was at, you'd definitely pass right by it. I arrived shortly after they opened for dinner service. The decor was well done and appeared clean. The menu is definitely a no frills & no pictures menu. You're expected to know what the items are and what you want. Prices are a bit low for most of the sushi and teriyaki items. The fish platters were around market price. I ordered a regular spicy salmon roll and the Mermaid specially roll since I just wanted sushi & a Captain & Coke to relax with. I received my drink and the ice water I requested and the bartender didn't skimp on the rum. The conversational level was low and the other people appeared eager to get their meals. My sushi order arrived within a normal time frame and was exactly as I expected it would be. The spicy salmon roll had the right amount of kick & wasn't overpowered. The specialty roll was nicely presented & spiced well. I was also given a small complimentary strawberry flavored dessert. Overall, the quick sushi meal was on par, quick, and properly balanced. I will make it a point to return and try the other dishes.

Love this place, out of all the places in our area it's the only one I have never been dissatisfied with. My favorite meal is the teriyaki steak. Normally it would be a 4 star review but nothing is better in the area (within 5 miles or so) so that makes it a 5 in my book.

    (5)
  • Jo P.

They have a very reasonably priced lunch special that is great. Their rolls are good but we stay away from their hot foods. For example, their chicken teriyaki was just ok.

My family and I - dined at Ko Sushi last night. Not very thrilled about the dishes. Spent $120.00 and fresh yes but the dishes had all american vegetables. The salad was also diced iceburg lettuce with cucumbers. Not Japanese. I have had real japanese food and this is not it. The place also is a tight squeeze not alot room and located in a small strip mall.

I ate at the sushi bar and had the sushi dinner (7 pieces and a roll), asked for no shellfish so they subsituted a tuna roll for the California roll . The service was great, the waitress was very helpful, the sushui was fresh and the beer cold. I will return and recommend this restaurant to sushi lovers.

Ko has the absolute greatest value when it comes to their AYCE sushi lunch special. For $20.00, you not only get your fill of select sushi rolls, you also have a large selection of soups, salads, and appetizers to choose from, also AYCE. Feel like nothing but miso soup and veggie dumplings? Have at it, since it is all included in the lunch special. What sweetens the deal even more, is the fact that the food is good! Quite possibly my favorite miso soup ever. I'm not a fan of chewing on large chunks of tofu, but here, it is so finely chopped in the broth, that I hardly even notice it. The veggie gyoza are good, although a bit dry (the dipping sauce made up for that, though.) The crab rangoon are creamy and delicious, so much that I had to get seconds on them. The rolls were good, a perfect size for the lunch crowd. The shrimp tempura roll was my favorite, while the yellowtail and scallion roll, Philly, Special Volcano, and Rainbow Rolls were quite delicious as well. The only thing that drives me nuts here is the decor. Up front, near the windows, you can hardly tell. In the belly of the dining area, it is darker with plenty of slowly flashing neon lights, that is more akin to a disco than a restaurant. Pair the neon with the strange piano/synthesizer music going on, and it can be quite headache inducing if you are not expecting it. Service here is wonderful, as an added bonus. Our server was polite and prompt, and kept me well stocked with their tasty green hot tea. All in all, this has to be my new favorite sushi joint in the area!

  • Hani Q.

The service was horrible. The waitress had an attitude, and did not refill or remove any of our drinks or dishes. Also she didn't once come to check on us. When we complained to the manager, the manager had the audacity to yell at us. This is very disappointing because I have been a regular here but will not ever return after the way I was treated tonight.

Best sushi place in the burbs! I recommend the Alaska roll and mermaid roll - they were to die for. It's very hard to find good sushi around the burbs or in Illinois for that matter since we don't live near an ocean. The place has a great vibe, small but cozy and very modern. Service was amazing and drinks are strong!

Wife and I have discovered there all you can eat lunch sushi special. All I have to say is tremendous value and the sushi quality is excellent. $19.99 all you can eat plus an app and salad/soup

We have been waiting at our table for past 55 mins just for a pad Thai and kids meal bento box. We had to tell two different servers before we got our food!!! We are still waiting for our sushi roll... Our carry out order has often been messed up several times before so we have been trying fine in. But now we are not planning to dine in either. Sad cause we really liked this place when it was new

I LOVE KO SUSHI! No longer do I have to drive all the way to Woodridge or Lombard for my sushi, honey! One of my girlfriends put me on, and I am telling the world. [Mainly because I don't want them to close for lack of service] I love the service, they are nice and quiet, very friendly. I have been about 5-7xs now, I adore it. The decor is calming and there are never that many people. The sushi is fun, always comes with cute stuff along with it, as you can see from peoples photos. Sometimes, you may get a complimentary plate of sushi or a dessert! NOW. If you DO plan on dessert, make sure you ask to see the dessert menu. There is a 2nd one, and I feel very duped because as many times I had been there, no one mentioned this to us for as many times as someone else and I had been. Lovvvve that sushi, I recently had the Mermaid, which came with a blue LED light covered in some jazz on my plate. I don't know if the jazz was edible, but I didn't try it. I loved it, I love them.

I did takeout and ordered the Mango Chicken lunch bento box special. it was pretty average...maybe next time I'll just get sushi. Their chicken was super dry and oh...they forgot to give me silverware, nor did they mention if I needed any. I've worked at a restaurant and seriously who forgets silverware? luckily I store extra in my car. Anyways just below average. Maybe they're more popular for sushi cause their hot entrees were bland...so was the miso soup. GROSS SOUP.

Never had anything bad here. Absolutely love them and I order all the time. Spicy tuna is my fave, all their special rolls are delicious. Anything with spicy mayo :) the miso soup is also great, my kids love it. Anytime I've dined in, with my kids, the staff has been so sweet!! Very friendly, quiet atmosphere.

Great all you can eat sushi on weekends for lunch! Seaweed salad was very fresh, rolls delicious! Only negative, service was a little slow as waitress was also cashier.

  • Vicki T.

The food is really good but the service is terrible. Our waitress didn't write down our order. Forgot our soup, had to ask again what we ordered. Never checked to see how we were. She was actually eating her dinner across from us at the bar! I had to ask for the check even though we had been done for a long time. This was all when there were only two tables filled on an early Saturday evening!

Love this place!!! Flavors are fantastic, only downside is the sushi sometimes comes out frozen and one server is terrible!!! Owner is fantastic and the spicy tuna is fire, that's why I keep going back

I'd give this place another try... But the dish I had last week was not good. I had Red Curry with chicken- one of my all times favorites. This version was distinctively different from any other Red Curry I've had (not in a good way). I went on a Saturday evening & it was slow- the staff was very young, but pleasant. Based on the other reviews I might try sushi one time in the future, but perhaps they can't handle other 'Asian' dishes.

My wife and I read some reviews and decided to try Ko Sushi. Since then, we have been back several times and never disappointed. Between the Sushi and the other Asian cuisine, we've always been very happy. We cannot comment on the raw fish sushi since neither of us like that, but everything else has always been fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and if the waitress don't know, they always ask the Sushi chefs to ensure your questions are answered correctly. Also, the prices are more than fair for the quality of the food.

I've ordered take out sushi from here 3 times and hot food once. The hot food, a noodle dish, was not great. It was WAY too spicy, and on the menu it was not labeled as spicy at all. However, the sushi has been great every time! And every time they give me a free roll as well. The fish is good quality imho. I can't wait until I get a chance to go to the actual restaurant and try the food, rather than take out. :)

Went in here during lunch with a friend and my first impression was what a great ambience and vibe. I had the 3-roll lunch special which is a great deal for good quality sushi. The food and ambience is wonderful here but our server was god awful terrible. She handed us the menus and the all you can eat paper menu. We told her were just going to order regular and not do AYCE. She replies "Oh..." with a pouting face and an awkward walk away like an absolute child. She failed to clear our table during the meal after coming back multiple times. I had to ask her to take bowls away that were clearly put to the edge of the table to be taken. Mind you, throughout this entire time I was being so polite and more customer service friendly to her than she was to me. I caught her dilly dallying on her phone on the dining floor. If you're going to check your phone on the job, at least be discreet! When she handed us the check, she finally cleared the table but came back immediately, awkwardly hovering watching us put money into the check book. After that, she stopped talking to us with no good byes or have a nice day. I felt very uncomfortable with every interaction and she was not very polite - just there to do a mediocre job and receive a mediocre tip. It's too bad because it's a great place to eat but I will have to give this only 2 stars because it was the worst dining experience I've had with a server. Perhaps it was a bad day. I will go back though if I am ever in that town again.

My wife and I kept a steady watch after the sign went up for a sushi restaurant opening in the area. Since we've left the city and moved to the south burbs, it's been a battle trying to find good sushi that's worth the price and effort to eat at. So when Ko Sushi finally opened, we happened to pick a snow storm of a day to go eat there... Here's the deal: Both of us were on a strict paleo diet for the month of January, so any sushi tastings would pretty much have to be sashimi. This is a curse and blessing in disguise... Curse: You cannot enjoy the fun and inventive chef's rolls with different combinations. They certainly had some innovative ones here at Ko, but unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to try. Blessing: By eating sashimi, you don't ever really leave with that "i'm about to explode" feeling at the end of the meal. Also, you get a true understanding of the quality of the fish since there are no others flavors (cucumbers, vinegared rice, etc.) to hide any of the shortfalls of the fish. This can also be a curse. We found a paleo compliant garlic and broccoli stiry fry which we started with as an appetizer to help fill our stomachs a bit. Great flavor, excellent fresh broccoli, very tasty. Followed up with various cuts of sashimi, in which the food turned a bit downhill. Salmon - Wife's past favorite which she said was fishy here. I thought it was fine. White tuna - Something was definitely off about the white tuna. The flavor wasn't quite right, and we couldn't put our finger on it... Yellowtail - Tasty, one of the fresher pieces of fish that they served. Mackerel - My wife's favorite choice this evening, marinated decently. Not outstanding, but tasted about right. Bonus points: Owned and run by a Chinese team, they played C-pop as well as some older stuff that my parents used to listen to which I enjoyed personally. Also, the green tea had toasted rice which added a nice complexity to the flavor. I think the manager/owner may have heard me when I complained to my wife about the $1 charge, so we had some free refills on the tea. Also, the presentation of the sashmi and appetizer were excellent so lots of attention to details. Verdict: The sashimi quality just isn't that high.. but the interesting rolls will have us coming back on one of our paleo cheat days. Great friendly service, especially once they know you're Chinese, excellent decor, great presentation. We'll come bcak!

This place is great! I've driven by here numerous times and decided to drop by here this weekend. They have an AYCE during the weekend which runs M-Sat 11:30 - 2:30. Its $19.95 a person. The cool thing about this is you dont get jui st sushi with AYCE, they have selected apps, salads, and soups too. Their king crab rangoon, gyoza, and shrimp shumai are awesome and you can have as many as you want. Beware, though if you don't finish your sushi, you are charged $1 per sushi that you don't finish. Overall its fresh and good. Service was spotty. There were only two servers and the nicest one was a young Hispanic lady. Even the owner came out to greet us which I thought was really nice!

when we go it is always for the make-to-order lunch buffet. for chi western burbs, this is really good sushi, and $19.99pp buffet is a bargain.

My husband and I went in for dinner on a Sunday night. The restaurant is really nicely decorated from the inside and has a cool modern vibe going. Our server was nice but the service was very slow. It seemed that they were quite understaffed as at one point there were a few finished plates of rolls just waiting to be served at the sushi bar. The sushi was pretty good, we had a few rolls and they were yummy and good sized pieces. We were even given a plate of rolls on the house. Now the not so great: My husband ordered a green curry entree. And although I knew to not have any great expectations of Thai food from a predominantly Japanese restaurant, the curry was terrible. It was orange in colour and was filled with green peppers. The plate was even decorated with slices of orange, and the curry tasted sweet and way too strongly of fish sauce. Next time, I would go back to ko sushi just for the sushi and would be pretty hesitant to try other things on their menu. Nonetheless, I'm happy to have found a decent sushi place close to our home.

I've been eating at Ko Sushi for a while now and I have to say this is by far my favorite Sushi restaurant. In fact it was Ko Sushi that got me back to eating sushi in the first place. Not only are all of there maki rolls very tasty, but their not too expensive either, especially during lunch time. Also their special rolls aren't as pricey as some of the other Sushi joints in the area. The service is always great, and they have been known to, at dinner, bring a free maki roll or a free dessert out to us. I've also had their tempura and their Pad Thai and have to say they are quite yummy. I even like their Miso soup! If you are looking for great tasting sushi in the suburbs look no further than Ko Sushi!

Pretty standard for a sushi bar but what really stood out was their really great service. Granted, we were the only people there, but with that said, they even served us rolls on the house for us to try and were super attentive and nice. The sashimi and sushi were prepared well and tasted fresh. We weren't big fans of the rolls cause they were just too big to eat in one bite, but the flavors were all right. Is it as fancy and high quality as going to the city? No, but for Bolingbrook, they're pretty good.

I was craving sushi last week and wanted to find a new spot. I googled sushi places and found Ko Sushi. I decided to try it because of the good reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was great. It's small, but nicely decorated. Service was quick and friendly. And the sushi was amazing. I just ordered the chef's special and got 7 pieces and 6 rolls (I believe). It was all so tasty. I couldn't stop telling my friends who like sushi about it. I may even go there again tonight.

The sushi was really good, the sashimi was mediocre, the drinks were good. The water dripping from the AC unit was a little annoying. The price was a bit high, but I would go back for sushi. Friendly staff.

I can't quite figure out why these reviews have been less than stellar, but I can say that my husband and I enjoyed our visit here and we will be back! The ambience is dark and private, which was surprising due to the strip mall setting. They did a great job of creating a little cozy haven right on busy Boughton Rd. We tried the Volcano and Angel Hair rolls and they were awesome. Not only were they huge and the fish very fresh, but they were also aesthetically attractive and inventive. I can't wait to come back and try the other unique rolls. When you go, definitely order the Angel Hair Roll - the sweet from the apple and mango sauce mixed with the spicy from the mayo and crunch from the tempura is amazing. Service was very attentive, while also giving us time and space, which was very much appreciated. It's hard for some wait staffs to strike a balance, but they did so beautifully. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Go, eat, and enjoy... and when you get back home, be sure to review this place! I really do believe its current rating does not reflect the restaurant accurately!

KO Sushi is our favorite sushi in the southwest suburbs. They have a very good atmosphere and a very artistic presentation. The rolls are very good and provide a wide degree of variation.

Great sushi joint. They offer great lunch deals and a tempting all-you-can-eat deal too. I like the atmosphere inside. It is clean and has a modern decor. The service is great. I highly recommend this restaurant to all sushi fans!

The place was beautifully decorated and it was hard to believe it was in a strip mall. The sushi was great and reasonably priced. We also received a special roll "on the house" which was a great surprise. We will definitely be going back!

After a solid work out, my friend and I stopped by here to grab some sushi to-go. As we walked in, we were greeted with a handshake from the owner. We had talked to him on the phone a few minutes before we went in. Gotta say, I like a handshake from someone I'm about to do business with (even if it's just getting some quick grub). Don't call me old fashioned, unless your gonna buy me one (my favorite drank). The atmosphere is a lot different than I expected. They have a couple TVs (which we liked since we caught some of the Hawks game), some intimate booths, and a really interesting modern chandelier behind the bar. The sushi was good, nothing ground breaking, but nicely rolled and very attractive. We had the Volcano roll, Chicago Roll, and the Angel Hair Roll. I don't believe the fish was the freshest one can get in the suburbs (which is tough). We noticed this especially with the Nigiri (Yellowtail, White Tuna, Striped Bass). However we were still satisfied and happy with what we ordered. If you're into hibachi (meh...) or some other Asian fare, they've got a decent sized menu in case your not into dat rawwwww. Ko Sushi, guess I'm happy you're there instead of a Blockbuster.

I'm absolutely thrilled about this place. The rolls were HUGE for the price. we ordered a dragon roll and godzilla, and we also recieved a volcano roll on the house. Presentation was great, staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. I want to go back already!!

We love Ko. We get carryout from Ko at least once/week and in all that time they have NEVER gotten our order wrong. We generally order the sushi rolls and sashimi. The rolls are always fresh and wrapped well and the portions are generous. This is our favorite local sushi place!

Excellent food at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is pretty as well. The outside does not look like much, being in a strip mall. But don't let that stop you. It is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. The rolls are very good. On weekdays and Saturdays, the lunch menu has 3 rolls for 10.99 (I believe it is), and it is an excellent deal. Sushi is not cheap anywhere, but the prices here for the quality is fantastic. Also, every time we have been in recently, we have been given either a complimentary roll, or a complimentary dessert. I don't know if that's because we are regulars, or if that is something they offer everyone to promote their dishes, but they have been a treat. I recommend the Chicago Fire Roll. It comes with an upside down martini glass in the middle which has been doused in something and set afire. It always turns heads when it is presented. The roll itself is also delicious.

A little Pricey also the DINNER BUFFET should be cheaper Sushi city and A LOT of other places charge about 18.99 for buffet and they charge about 20 if I'm not mistaken. But all in all AWESOME GOOD FOOD and GREAT decoration! Very modern and relaxing. Also they have really good presentation!!

We ate here last Friday night and it is a great date night place. The service was really good and the food is great. I highly suggest this place for those of you in Bolingbrook or if you are ever hungry and in Bolingbrook.

The first time we went here, it wasn't bad. I have been three times since and will not be back. Consistency is key in a restaurant and every time I go it is different. I loved the cucumber salad the first time, then went back and it was completely different, like they forgot the sesame seeds and vinegar all together. Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me.

All in all this is a really solid little restaurant. I am a big lover of sushi and Japanese food, and I can't think of any Japanese restaurant in the area that is anywhere near as good as this (Osaka Grill, I'm looking at you). It has definitely become a favorite of mine. Even beyond just Japanese food, I would say that this is at least the best restaurant on the West side of Bolingbrook and welcome change from all of the chain restaurants. I've been here a bunch times since it opened and have been very impressed by the food, atmosphere and service each time. The sushi is surprisingly good. Considering that Bolingbrook, IL is about as far from an ocean as one can get, I expected very little. I've never been impressed with any of the sushi I've had at other restaurants in the area, but this was quite solid. I tend to stick to the sushi vs. the rolls, and, all things considered, the quality of the fish is pretty good. I've liked all the rolls that I've had, all were above average. But I think their real strength is in their main dishes. I've tried most of the Japanese noodle dishes and they are all fantastic (yakiudon and teriyaki prime rib). The entre menu does include a lot of non-Japanese, pan-Asian fare, but all of it that I have tried is really, really quite good: Pad thai and thai curries. By far my favorite has been the Mango Shrimp dish. Recommended. I absolutely love the aesthetics. It is in a strip mall, but inside is very intimate and cozy. The interior is very cool and chic and definitely qualifies as a sit-down-and-relax date night atmosphere; certainly not your average bare bones take out place. Along with this is the food presentation, which is absolutely outstanding. There is a tremendous amount of creativity and visual flair that goes into their dish presentation. Each time I've gone, my party and I end up spending a few minutes after the food is set down talking about how it's "too pretty to eat". The guilt doesn't last too long though, as its always delicious looking too. Service is really solid as well, and I think they have really worked out all of the kinks that are inherent when a new restaurant first opens. All of staff are all very easy-going and personable, but definitely on their game about getting tables served. I just wish they had seating at their bar. Nothing soaks up a cold beer like sushi.

This place is amazing! My sister orders the take out a ton and it is always ready on time. You can also walk up and order then sit at the bar and talk to the friendly chefs while you wait. I've been over 10 times and the service is excellent. The sushi comes out quickly and they like to add some flair to the presentation. I recommend Ko Sushi to anyone that asks if I know of a good sushi place. The lunch all you can eat deal is the best too.

The first time we went to this place we actually really liked it. We thought that the service was great, food was good, and for a suburban sushi restaurant they were near the top for me (see my previous review). However, this all changed the second time. We ordered sushi carryout (two little kids makes it hard to go out sometimes). So, when my wife went to pickup the order, they had messed that up. Instead of vegetarian entrees they made chicken. Also, they failed to tell her on the phone that they did not have a particular thai dish and they told her that when she got there to pickup the food. So, she waited 20 minutes there with the kids while they remade the two dishes and finally she came home. This gets worse... We got home and started eating our food, only to find hair in one of the entrees. So, fed up as we were, we finally called to complain. The person in charge said that the best she could do is remake some of those dishes. Now, having been through all of that, we asked for a partial refund instead since we did not want to go back to pickup the food again. She stated that she could not partially refund it since it was already charged to our card (really?!!). So, she offered us half of our dinner's cost back to us as a credit for next time. Well guess what?! There will be NO next time for us. She had the opportunity to make things right by offering us a refund at the time. Don't bother with this place.

If I would have wrote a review the first time I ate at this place, it would have been a perfect 5 star. The sushi was huge... and the prices were great. You know you have a winner when you have a piece of fish over the rice and you don't know there is rice under there. However, in the months since the quality and value has gone down. The fish has gotten smaller and smaller or is at a minimum inconsistent on the plate. The fish is always fresh, but this place is no longer our absolute favorite. I would rather them raise the prices a bit and have nicer sushi than compete with coupon gimmicks and make less quality. The atmosphere is good. People are nice. Drinks are slightly below average. I would recommend this place to go if you live in the area as the choices are limited. However Ko Sushi needs to get back to how they used to do it or they will simply be yet another mediocre sushi place in the area.

I gave 4 instead of 5 only because I told them we had a coupon from their web page and they didn't honor them. However the sushi rolls were amazing! Everyone says do the volcano roll so I did..it was good but the Angelhair roll is hands down the most unique roll I've ever had! And I loved the Chicago Fire roll as well as the House roll! We will definitely be back for more to try!

Stopped in for luncg. Nice inside. Very tasty miso and really liked the salad dressing. Vegetables were crisp tender with just a slight char for flavor. Nicely seasoned without any heavy sauce. Sushi was very good as well, nice sized pieces. A better place to go for lunch or dinner than those standbys on Weber road. Then you can stop by Best Buy for your favorite c.d. that's out!

Best sushi in The Chicago burbs, everything is delicious and the fish and portions are amazing! I know the one girl that works there is a bit rude, but the owner and the rest of the staff are absolutely delightful. The only sushi place I go to. I have been to every single sushi place in a 30 mile radius and hands-down this is always my favorite

I've only been once, but enjoyed Ko. I had the all you can eat lunch, which for $19.99 was a good deal-if I'd ordered off the menu I would have likely spent that much, but wouldn't have been able to try all of the different items. Rolls (Dragon, Shrimp Crunch and particularly the Spicy Tuna) were good and the sashimi was decent-could have been a little cooler than room temperature. Avocado salad was good and the crab Rangoon and shumai were as well. It's not a large place, but that's fine, and it appeared clean and the service was good-everything came out pretty quickly (take a hint, Sushi City!). I'll return for sure and will be more adventurous with actual sushi and sashimi choices next time since I stuck with some basics for my first visit.
