Great place, great food, great service. Tasty! Slightly pricier than your average burrito place but the authenticity is worth it!

I work nearby this place and my coworkers and I order from here at least once a week. The place is clean and spacious and the food is always delicious. The have quite a few items on their menu that we order often. They also have daily specials on the menu in the restaurant but not on the takeout menu. (The reason for the 4 star review) The staff is friendly and everything is made fresh. I definitely recommend stopping in here. If you are ordering takeout, pre-order it! Waiting for it takes a little longer than I'd like.

Friday lunchtime, was busy but had plenty of seating. $9.00 Chimichanga w/ ground beef dinner, comes with rice and refried beans. Very good flavor. Huge! Other two in the party got the Burrito dinner. No one could finish their plate. Free chips and salsa. Horchata was excellent. Will come back for sure! :)

Free chips and salsa when you dine in! The salsa had a unique smokey flavor to it. They had a lot more menu choices than the typical taqueria.

I expected something better. Maybe quality has gone down since those last reviews were written..but this was definitely NOT the best burrito (or the best gorditas) I've ever had. The service was polite and the food came out quick. The burrito and gorditas technically looked perfect. PERFECT. I was sure this was going to knock out that Mexican burrito place on Maple. When we bit into our food, it wasn't that it was bad (it wasn't good), but we couldn't put our finger on what it was. Then it hit us: it's BLAND. Completely so. In the gorditas, there was not one flavor that you could detect. It was all plain, and the meat tasted like nothing. The burrito had the same issue, but the salsa helped a bit. While the service was good, and the food LOOKED amazing, we spent way more money than I expected on some plain food and ok horchata.

One of the more divier El Authentico Burritos while being a little tricky to find as the area is surrounded by a good number of stripmalls and storefronts. The lady there was nice enough to explain the differences among the huaraches, their specialty, since the menu had no description for each of the huaraches. Ordered a ranchero huarache and an al pastor burrito to go. The ranchero huarache ended up being a lot better than expected. It was a large thick soft tortilla, which seemed to be made on the premises, with chorizo, lettuce, cheese, beans, avocado, carrots, and pickles on top. The burrito was ok, I liked the equal distribution of vegetables & meat, and the crispy lettuce, but wished the meat was seasoned or something as it had no flavor.

This place is pretty good, definatley authentic Mexican food. I especially love the hot sauces they have there. They have a green and an orange colored hot sauce that is to die for! The steak is quite good. I have had better, hence, the 4 stars instead of 5. I would much rather be here than nasty El Burrito Loco!

I stopped in for a quick bite before going grocery shopping because if I don't go grocery shopping on a full stomach I usually end up with much more than I ever wanted. When I walked in I noticed that they were advertising a few of their specialties which are authentic Mexican menu items that I have never heard of. I played it safe and stuck with my test for any authentic Mexican restaurant, the steak taco. Because I was dining in, they did bring me some chips and salsa which were pretty good. The taco was great and I loved the hot sauces that they provided on the side. They also have a full ice cream bar in the restaurant which looks great. I am excited the next time I go grocery shopping again to stop by and try something else.

Solid place. They have taken over the little store next door and bumped out the space for both more seating as well as an ice cream counter. In addition to the typical taqueria offerings, they have a number of specialties on their menu such as molcajete and pambazos. The food is good enough for me to return, better than a number of taquerias closer to me. But at the end of the day, these types of tacos can't really be outstanding. As another poster mentioned, they have an interesting creamy-type of hot sauce that packs a punch.

Outstanding. I had a marinated chicken breast and skirt steak. Home made tortillas, hot and fresh. Perfect pico de gallo. Best Mexican food I've had in a long time! Not much on ambiance, and no bar, but I didn't go there for those things. I went for good food, and got what I came for!

Outstanding huaraches, enchiladas, burritos, and more! The owner makes his own sauces and I swear I come here JUST to have something to put his sauces on! The green and red sauces are incredible. Great fresh salsa. Wonderful marinade to the chicken and steak. I am truly impressed. The enchiladas weren't just smothered in a 1/2 pound of cheese like El Burrito Loco in town -- but instead, were smokey, flavorful, with that wonderful chipotle-type red sauce. Incredible. The owner is very knowledgeable of good cuisine and happy to talk to you! This place is RIGHT near me & open LATE. Just started favoring this place over El Burrito Loco & I keep coming back again & again!!!

A friend (Richie) referred me to this place for killer burritos. Now with a name like "El Authentico Burrito" you burritos better taste fabulous. I ordered the Burrito Jr to be on the safe side because the menu on the wall indicated the Burrito Grande was BIG! The junior size was a good portion in itself. The carne asada (steak) filled the entire tortilla. Bursting with flavor, you can tell the steak was seasoned for a good while. I can honestly say this was the best burrito I ever had. Towards the end of my consumption I just wanted to eat the meat it was that darn good! I love the hot sauce, it was more like a cream/paste substance. Not runny more like icing on a cake. You get the green and orange squeeze bottles and I was putting that sauce on everything in site...chips and fries. Great job El Authentico...me gusta!

Stopped in for a quick lunch to-go. Grabbed a burrito vegetariano... Service was polite, food came out quick, and price was middle of the pack ($6.25 for burrito, drink). Granted there's not a whole lot to a veggie burrito, so I don't grade too hard, but a lot of places have seemed to pull it off fairly well. El Authentico was good, but far from the best. You get what you pay for size-wise (i got the grande), but flavor seemed to be lacking throughout. Beans, rice, some avocado, couple slices of tomato, and a lot of lettuce. That's about it. Bean and rice had little flavor and every bite was roughly 75% lettuce. The word "filler" comes to mind... Thumbs up in most areas except in the flavor department. The accompanying salsa wasn't very pleasant either. Tried their bright orange and green salsas, which were far from impressive. Tasted a bit off, and lent nothing to my burrito. Quick, friendly service, but the food was very, very average.

My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday night about 11pm. I ordered the steak nachos and he ordered a taco salad. I specifically said no tomatoes and yet they were on my nachos. He specifically requested nacho cheese on his taco salad- no nacho cheese. Food was cold and subpar. Won't be back.

Delicious! Huarache Authentico is super yummy and their chile rellenos can't be beat. The staff is friendly and the food is always ready quickly and served piping hot. Must try!

Big Fan! I eat there every day (literally). 5.99 for a burrito and drink (Horchata only). Service is great. People are great. Best Mexican around IMHO. Very much recommended.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
