Small location but very active! I've been coming here to play Volleyball for a few years now and am looking to put my daughter in the gymnastics program here. The staff here is truly great and I have gotten to know a few of them well. The parking situation is here a bit hectic especially around 6pm. Other than that, this place is the bees knees.

Pros: -Very active, even during off hours-always a good sign -The pool is generally kept quite clean, has the right amount of chlorine, and the temperature is just right -Safe atmosphere. People generally mind their own business, but any other interactions with other patrons and with staff have been nothing short of pleasant. Cons: -The Pav is for families (this might be a pro for you!). When swimming in the pool and getting changed in the locker room, I prefer not being accosted by screeching and crying of children. It can be tiring to have kids getting in my lane during swim class. -Overpriced for what you get. -Locker rooms not particularly clean. There always seem to be clumps of hair in the shower. -Parking is a real problem because it's so crowded. -While I liked my swim teacher, I hardly learned anything in terms of improving technique as the class had advertised. I would return here for another class because it's a convenient location and it suits my needs.

It's a one stop shop. They have just about everything in there and they even have rock climbing here. I wish the pool could be at least 10 feet deep but what can you do. At about 8pm here you can usually start your scuba training at the deep end of the pool. I signed up with DJ Scuba for my classes and then we would meet here for our pool sessions.

Just got back from a good workout at the Berwyn YMCA, which is an establishment as American as you can get. YMCA's are so diverse, really, I love them. You workout with old Polish men in black knee high socks, older Czech ladies pushing their walkers around the track, young Mexican kids lifting weights in their gym uniforms, twenty something year old black guys lifting weights and doing boxing looking step work stuff, and then there's the 42 year old white lady trying her damnedest to look anything less than 42. (Yea, pull that baseball cap down a lil lower sister.) Aside from the amazing diversity of Berwyn YMCA, it's also a really nice facility. There's the standard pool, basketball courts, weight room and indoor track but this place also has more. A few (maybe more, three years feels like six months when you're 42) years ago a climbing wall was put in and a ropes course built outside. The classes offered range from Salsa dancing to Martial Arts and Spinning. The locker rooms aren't bad here either. But all kidding aside, the people that work at this Y are what I love most. They are the friendliest and most helpful group of people you will ever meet.

I would join if they had lap lanes at convenient times...bummer.
