I was so excited watching this checkers in the building process and couldn't wait to eat there. I live in hillside and normally only ate checkers when I was on the southside. Every time I come here, I have to sit and wait an additional 10-20 mins(where ever I can find parking) to get my food. Which wouldn't be a problem if my order wasn't always wrong, missing something or cold when they finally bring it out. This situation happens everything I go, I mean literally every time I go. They seem to employ a lot of teenagers which is fine, but why can't any of them take an order correctly and then serve the correct order. There have been times, I order drink fries and burger, I'm told to pull around, I sit and wait, finally they bring me a burger in a bag with a receipt. The receipt says fries burger and drink, why didn't he check the receipt before bringing the food? So now I have to go back and remind them of my order and wait another 10 mins for them to finally bring the complete order, now the burger is cold and the fries are salty as hell... This is way to much for fast food. This place has almost made me never want checkers again from any where. I use to love checkers fries burgers now every time I think of checkers I think cold food & and melted ice cream.

Can I give this place a negative five stars? They don't have enough parking, service sucks,30 minutes wait on the drive thru for them just to take my order and they ran out of fries,waiting time for the fries? ANOTHER 30 MINUTES.! Hell no NEGATIVE FIVE STARS.!

The service at this checkers is horrible I had to wait 20 minutes just to place my order. I was waiting for my food for 15 minutes I went up to the window to see what was taking to long to found out they gave my order to the wrong guy who was gone so I had to wait another 15 minutes so they can make my food again.

Only one lane drive through when checkers and rallies is know for it's two lane drive through, only 4 spaces to park, terribly slow service. I'm beyond disgusted.

I was super excited when I drove by this location when it was being built. I couldn't wait for the opening date of this Checkers (closest one to my home). When I was a child Checkers was amazingly delicious to me so I thought that it would still taste exactly the same as it did about 15-20 years ago, that is why I was so excited to have Checkers again. Well I didn't have it until about two months after it opened and I am still upset to say that I was pretty disappointed. The parking lot is super small, the drive through takes forever and the eating area which is also small isn't quite the cleanest or the parking lot! The service is slow and the most disappointing is the food! My food was cold and the worse part is that, it was NOT delicious. Definitely didn't taste no where near the same as it did about 15-20 years ago. I think McDonald's is actually better :( I will not be going back!

10 minute wait and not only was the fries embedded in grease but they were cold and so was the burger. I cant see them lasting for too long serving food like this.

Woah, 1-star hate much? I mean, this location has its problems (not the least of which being the area it's situated in), but short of seeing a cockroach in my meal I don't think it's wholly deserving of 1-star........ When a friend of mine tipped me off about a new Checkers opening literally 5 minutes from my M-F job, I nearly peed myself in excitement (I did actually pee a little). Visions from my childhood came rushing back as I sauntered up to the counter and ordered a Big Buford and a banana shake. Since I discovered this location a week ago, I've been here three times and have had some odd and rather unpleasant experiences. Experiences like: - 1 full star for having run out of ketchup on my inaugural visit (seriously, who runs out of KETCHUP? I didn't think 1st world countries had to deal with this type of scenario?!?!) - 1/2 star for being out of banana shake mix on my 2nd trip - 1/2 star for serving a decidedly questionable 'cheezy chicken' sandwich on funky, day-old bread - 1/2 star for a cramped parking lot that is just asking for an accident to occur + 1/2 star for having sweet tea as an available drink option .......which leads me to their redeemer. Checkers has one menu item that is not only is the best thing that they offer, but is quite possibly the best thing that ANY fast food restaurant offers in the Chicago metro area: + 2 full star for their fries. They are the greatest thing mankind has created in the history of the world, and are without a doubt the best fries I have ever had the pleasure of eating. They're breaded, seasoned, and usually served piping hot, almost too-hot-to-eat. I have yet to find french fries that can surpass Checkers' in terms of taste and overall satisfaction. If there were a human-equivalent of their fries, I would find that person and marry them. So, while there's a lot of things wrong with this spot, it's not enough to overcome sensational fries and a quick trip down memory lane. I can't help but wonder why so many 1-star reviews? Whatever, just keep drinking that Hator-ade, people. While you're sipping on that, I'm enjoying the shit out of their fries, some sort of a baconzilla monstrosity, and a sweet tea. And a banana shake. Long live Checkers' fries.

I had been looking forward to this location opening as I've always loved their burgers and those seasoned fries. As many have mentioned in their reviews, the service is beyond ridiculously bad and getting in and out of the parking lot is a joke. My food was fine after the 15 minute wait but my fiance's bun on her burger was burnt completely black. Didn't bother to try and replace it because it probably would have overwhelmed the useless staff there. This place won't last.

It use to be a Checkers right on Mannheim road and Washington back when cash money was taking over for the 99 and 2000 (they tore it down to make a currency exchange.) I was sad to see it go and said it will never be the same. Although it was two checkers still in IL for a while but I would never travel to them. The fries were good but they weren't THAT good! So imagine my surprise that Bellwood would be the first one to have it back in about a 10 mile radius It was delay not sure why date changed and a fire broke out. date changes again, but it finally opened! The first few months was TERRIBLY SLOW. I would HATE having to drive over the bridge because it was so much traffic. The place was just too small for how many customers it first had.... at one point I could have sworn they had about 40 employs I think a combination of training for other nearby locations and to accommodate the the crazy long lines sitting outside. I had to park three blocks down the first week to get here. (They blocked anyone from parking for about two months but it didn't really matter seeing how the employees take up half the parking spots.) I've given this place about 5 chances since opening day. I'll say they never got anything wrong, but each time it just took TOO DAMN LONG. the very last time I DID get food. Took about 35 min to get my food and this was me standing in line with 5 people in front of me. I think the cashier would take the order. close the window then take the drive through order wait for food to get done and then take the next order. (THIS CAN"T BE LIFE!) I gave up on this place when I stood in line 20 min....and hadn't ordered yet......at 2am....with only about 5 people in front of me. The experience here has completely turned me off from Checkers and it's tripped out as they now have one in Broadview and Maywood They should have just stayed gone and brought an In & Out here.

Doesn't deserve 1 star....BEWARE of this place. My son bit into a sandwich and the chicken was raw (pic posted). Called to make a complaint and was told that the manager was busy. Then had the nerve to asked me did I want another sandwich. Hell no and I will never stop there for another sandwich again.

Never again!!!!!! Me and my family were on our way home from bowling and my little ones were starving. My husband pulled in and placed order. It took 20 minutes for two kids meals. My five yr old son saw his food and didn't want to eat it and my 6 yr old was starving so she ate it. The next day my daughter was in the emergency room with a stomach virus from contaminated meat!!!!!!!!!!! She was vomiting uncontrollably. I will never ever go to any Checkers again. I'm so glad the rest of my family didn't eat from there. I felt so bad I should have stopped at the gas station and got her some chips until we got home so that I could cook her something I know that wouldn't have made her sick. I'm mad at myself cause I know how nasty Checkers is. They should do away with these franchises again for good this time!!!!!

I had to explain to the cashier that fries do come with my order. I paid on the receipt. Big Buford combo. Cashier was rude and didn't want to give me what I paid for. The name on the receipt of the cashier is for someone not working at the time. I had the window shut in my face. I understand this is only fries but it was my dinner with the last of the cash I had and they wouldn't even try to get the order correct. Avoid this place. I contacted corporate about the rude treatment. I will never go to a Checkers again. Not once was I greeted and when my order was given the cashier said here and shut the window. This is pathetic service by pathetic employees. Up date: I called the corporate office after my call to this Checkers went nowhere. Corporate said they would call me back within 48hrs. I did not receive a call. I called back and was told the same 48hrs. I have not received that call yet. I don't believe that I will. The corporate office doesn't seem to care about the service provided to their customers and offers nothing to replace the items shorted in the order. If a negative star score could be given I would say -2 stars for not caring one bit from Checkers stand to corporate level. I will surely avoid Checkers and Rally's branded locations. Corporate did eventually respond to me and promised to send free coupons and weeks later I am still waiting. I do suggest this location be avoided, perhaps others will be better but I will not be their customer.

I have loved Checkers for years and was thrilled to see a new one going in near me. That is, until I went to this one! The service was beyond horrible, I had to explain a simple order to three different people, then the same person taking the order came back about a minute later and said I gave you your burgers right? now you're just waiting for fries? I explained that I had just paid him one minute ago. Then he asked me to pull around and park, which is almost impossible there, and wait for my order. After 15 minutes more I walked to the window and asked about my order, which I then had to explain a 4th time because they hadn't even started yet. After another 8 minutes the burgers were brought out. Unfortunately after the poor service and nearly 25 minute wait I tried to eat the food but it was horrible. The burger was overcooked and dry, and the fries were exceptionally greasy. I ended up throwing the majority of the $18 meal right in the trash. I won't be visiting this location again anytime soon. Definite FAIL !!!
