I am 100% Mexican, and have traveled to a few different parts of Mexico numerous times. This place has THE BEST Mexican food I've ever had. The taco meat is tender and not too dry. Not to mention, the portions are insane! If you happen to stop by, I STRONGLY recommend you try their carne asada nachos, or carne asada burrito with french fries. OMG to die! Another thing you MUST try is their horchata...so yummy! The service is also great. I usually go late at night so I always see the same waitress there by herself. Sometimes it is very busy, but she's super sweet and fast.

For a strip mall burrito joint it passes mustard, but it's not a destination type of a place. If you are driving by, or in the area, by all means try it. But don't go too far out of your way. The steak is NOT the best around. Maybe the best on Lake St in Addison, but not worthy of lofty praises some bestow upon it. If you think it's the best, take a fifteen minute ride west to Hacienda de Roselle and try that. Then, come back here and tell me this is benchmark quality (there are better places than Hacienda de Roselle, but I can't think of one in this area). Slightly better than average taco stand fare in big porttions at average prices served by nice people in a place clean enough to pass inspection. That just about sums it up.

We wanted tacos and the usual local place was closed, so we thought we'd try a new place. We were in route to a random place we pulled up on yelp but saw this place and stopped instead. Maybe we should have kept driving. They were very nice here but the steak tacos weren't anything to write home about. The meat was dry and in big chunks. I like my tomatoes smaller and they also were in big chunks. The fries weren't what I like but that's a personal preference, not to say that they were bad. Salsa was alright. Next time id check out another location.

This place is really good for several reasons. Good food, good hours & good service. The food is soooo yummy and after traveling to Mexico, Ive found it to be pretty authentic as well. From breakfast, lunch to dinner- it's perfect for any meal. Dine in and they give you fresh chips and salsa. They also serve you and are very attentive. When you take something to go, they put a ton of their home-made salsas in the bag and everything is always perfect. They have a nice selection of Mexican drinks such as horchata (a sweetened rice drink) and Jarrito's soda. The steak burrito is loaded with good quality meat and cheese and I believe only $5.50. The jamón con huevos is also pretty good. The tamales used to be a lot better, something changed and was green the last time I ordered it..so definitely won't recommend those. They are open pretty late too so it's good for a late night grub, too. Note, this is not the El Burrito on Lake St but the one next to the Caputo's OFF of Lake St.

My favorite place around for mexican food. Better than the fancier places in the area. I've ordered many different things and they were all good. Every place has an off night here and there if go enough times but not here. Their steak is of better quality than most football burrito joints you'll find. Hard to spot if your not paying attention, just look for Caputos and pull in. The steak is great as well as their tamales and stuffed peppers.

Fantastic Mexican food! Got a burrito with carne asada and an horchata and it was so yummy. Meat was perfectly cooked and their horchatas are always on point. Walked in when it was lunch hour but their service was so fast there was barely any waiting for my food. Service was great and they are really friendly. One of the best Mexican restaurants in that area.

The food was the closest thing to Taco Bell Yet. Located in a strip mall this place is impossible to see from the street. Worth a stop plenty of parking.

Had good expectations because of times reviews. Especially after reading a review from the girl who is 100% Mexican and traveled to Mexico. She claims this is the best place ever. Idk what part of Mexico she went to or where else she ate but this is definitely not the best place ever. You don't have to be Mexican to know that this place is not the greatest. Seriously this place is worse than taco bell. In fact I prefer taco bell over this place. The chips and salsa were good I give them that. The Carne Asada taco was decent. Everything else sucked. The spicy pork should be called salty pork. Couldn't even finish it because it was so salty. The chicken taco was just OK. The staff was really friendly though so I'll give then that. Otherwise it's not worth for me to come back. Im from San Diego and also have traveled to Mexico many times. It doesn't qualify me to be the commissioner of Mexican food. But I've only found one place that has great Mexican food out here and this is not it.

The food is always consistently excellent. The Carne Asada con Cebolla is only $8.95 on special. Very basic atmosphere, but don't let it fool you. Some of the best Mexican food around at a very reasonable price. They also do a great breakfast burrito, too.

I'm so gald I found this place on here. All of the other places in the area don't compare. Their chilaquiles with green sauce are AMAZING...... My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!!! The portions are large for the price, and the service is very pleasent.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
