Buyer Beware. I recently went to Alta Villa for Christmas Eve with my family and the buffet was very disappointing. They had put the cocktail sauce at the beginning of the pasta buffet and to my dismay I had put it on my pasta. Why didn't they put the cocktail sauce at the shrimp buffet? I went up with a new plate and sure enough the red sauce on the pasta was watered down. The pizza was nothing more then frozen reheat pizza. Would you believe they charged $22.00 a head for this buffet? The biggest compliment I can give is not to go back there again.

We had our son's baptism luncheon at Alta Villa Banquet and the entire staff was easy to deal with. They provided us and our guess with excellent service, delicious food, clean hall, plenty of parking and best pricing all around. Any time we had questions Cheryl had the right answers. I would defiantly book our next event at Alta Villa. Thank You and keep it going!

I love whenever this place has brunch type events, I guess they only do it for certain special occasions (Easter, Mother's Day, etc), but man, do I love it. Everything is buffet style, but it's A TON of food, makes you get that guilty feeling, with all the less fortunate. Considering what you get, the price is very good imo. I love the fish, the calamari here are great, refilled very quickly because they go fast. Mussels, clams, octopus, etc. Then there are carving stations (IIRC, there was ham, turkey, and either beef or filet), pasta dishes, meat and chicken (had lamb for Easter), little arancini, pizza/foccacia ,little calzones, oh my, it was excellent. They have dessert too (some mini pastries and ice cream), but I never get that far since I get so stuffed. There's other things I don't get to either, like fruit, soups, and other appetizer type stuff, and a lot of stuff I'm forgetting (just remembered ribs). Also, a kids area with chicken fingers and all that. We usually go later in the afternoon, but once we went early and they had breakfast items too (waffles, eggs, french toast, etc). I would really recommend it for one of those occasions, like Easter or Mother's Day. Don't know the exact price, would estimate around $25-28 per person (call to be sure, they take reservations anyways). It's buffet style, but not your average buffet, more like a brunch, with an Italian flavor. For what you get and the price, I think it's an excellent value, especially knowing what other brunch events run around Chicago. I love it, just wish the events happened more often, 5 stars!

We were here for a mid afternoon luncheon. The food far surpassed my expectations for mass-produced food items. This place is very Italian, as evidenced from all the wall murals (which were nice, if not a little hokey). But back to the food... First was an Italian foccacia tomato bread. Thick soft bread with tomato chunks... Yum! Next came minestrone soup which was hot, full of huge vegetable chunks, and not too salty. It was awesome! A green salad with healthy, dark lettuce (thank goodness-I hate iceberg!!), cucumbers and a tomato wedge. We had three dressing options too. There was (well duh!) a crusty Italian bread that was small but fresh. There was a rigatoni course in between (Italians know how to eat!), and the pasta was hot, adequately sauced and al dente!! Very impressive. The main course was chicken Marsala with crispy potato wedges and green beans. A side of beef also came out. Everything was fantastic, but the beef was my favorite. It was all so much, but the staff was happy to provide boxes so we could bring extra home. The star that's missing is because of service. The luncheon could've used an extra waitress. It took three inquiries to get a pitcher of diet coke. Also the bathroom-- it was nicely updated, but the water was freezing cold!! Don't know what was up with that! Positive experience overall, and I would consider hosting a large event here in the future.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I planned my wedding shower at Alta Villa Banquets - and it turned out amazing! My guests couldn't stop complimenting how beautiful everything looked. They took care of everything - the table linens, the card/gift table, dessert table, punch table, place settings, centerpieces, etc... but also gave me room to add our own personality to the space! They allowed us to bring in our own "candy bar" supplies, signs, table numbers, etc. and were so helpful with setting up and making everything look perfect! We even had some last minute no-shows and seating arrangements that had to be changed, and it was effortless! They changed everything over so quickly that no one even noticed! It really took a lot of stress off my shoulders - i'm so thankful to everyone at Alta Villa for giving me an amazing shower to look back on! ....and of course - the food was phenomenal!!

This is as good as it gets! As a first time Mother of the Bride, I was quite nervous putting my daughter's shower in the hands of a Banquet Hall. But this was not just any Banquet Hall. The staff here is very caring and helpful and reassuring. Is was an amazing wedding shower!! All the guests complimented the food the service and how beautiful it looked. A HUGE THANK YOU!!!

Alta Villa's office people are shady. I called to get pricing on throwing a surprise party there with pizza, etc and received one price and then when I was ready to book everything, they told me the price was wrong and increased it by 150%. Needless to say, I went elsewhere. Completely disappointing when I grew up going here for every school and family event.

We've been to occasion after occasion after occasion at Alta Villa; 2 bridal showers and, now, a 2nd wedding. They accommodated about 275 for this last wedding and the ballroom was quite large with plenty of space for bar, dancing, and tables. That's useful not simply for comfort; but if you have relatives who are on the outs with each other you have plenty of ways to separate them. We enjoyed a sit down dinner, it started with a unbelievable leek soup with onion and a hint of potato; it was almost buttery. I shudder to think of the calorie count, but I downed it anyway. Then came spinach salad with fresh mushrooms and a warm bacon dressing. Wine and champagne was offered to us throughout the meal as was Perrier with lime and gelatto between each course. They took real care with the main entree: a surf and turf with a small filet mignon and several gigantic shrimp. Potato and steamed asparagus included. I will say this, the man seated next to me was allergic to shellfish and when he started to remove the shrimp from his plate the serving staff grabbed that plate from him like there was arsenic on it. They brought him an entirely new meal with adjusted portions to compensate. Good job on that. The food was very, very good. The wedding cake was served with ice cream for dessert, but later when coffee with brandy was served a gigantic Sicilian style sweet table, that spanned 2 walls was set up. The strawberries on that thing were as big as the palm of my hand. From chocolate fountains, to creme puffs, to individual fruit tarts, that sweet table was fully loaded. Even though the rooms could use some upgrading, the food and service really made up for it.

I have been to this banquet place once for a wedding reception. From the outside, it was nice enough. But the decor inside wa a bit strange - cowboys and horses were painted on various places on the walls. It was sort of weird to see cowboys and horses among the elegantly dressed bride, groom, and guests! Maybe you'd want to host a party here with a cowboy theme, but not really a wedding reception.
