Definitely hidden. Not exciting in terms of atmosphere but reasonably priced delicious Thai food. Lots of vegetarian choices. They even have those fried cream cheese wontons. Yum! Can't wait to work my way down the menu. Medium green curry was pretty spicy! Have only done takeout.

We tried to have lunch there on three different occasions, twice it was closed without notice even though it was a regularly listed business day for them. When we did finally get in, the place was cold as an icebox and service was sporadic. We tried two different dishes and were not impressed with either. Prices are too high for what is served, definitely had better. It was worth a try to satisfy our curiosity but for $10-12/pp for lunch and lack of ambience, quality, and warmth I would not go back.

I used to go here more in the past until quality seemed to vary between just so-so and great, I didn't want surprises as I can't afford to go out much, needed more consistency. So, I stopped going for two years. Been three times in last six weeks, food has stabilized at "pretty good", however the service is poor or even non existent...they're "nice", just aren't doing the job. If it's cold outside, it's likely to be colder inside, refuse to turn on heat. Brrr...take out for home. Décor has always been a bit industrial quirky, no issues, just simple. But NOW, it looks like they're setting up a flea market with odds and ends, cheap kids clothes, swimwear, knick knacks...super tacky...if it matters to you. I do find it tacky, yet amusing. No "mood."

Food was okay...but I am used to more flavor in Thai food. My family ordered take out - 4 "meals" - $60 - 1 small grocery bag of teenie take out boxes. Maybe dine in is better, but we probably won't find out, sorry.

The green chicken curry had canned veggies in it. The chicken kapraw my wife had was flavorless. The kids pad Thai was just ok.

One of only two Thai restaurants in Sandpoint. We were staying at the Schweitzer mountain resort, and were looking for some other options besides the places on the mountain. This seemed to have better reviews so we tried it out. The actual location is very small so if you have a large group keep that in mind. We had 12 in our group and we barely were able to fit inside. The cook is the owner and is very friendly. She did her best to accommodate us. The food was decent. The panang curry and tom kai soup were the best two dishes. The pad see yu was also decent. The red curry was not as flavorful as i'd like and some of the other dishes were a little bland for our liking. If you are in Sandpoint this is probably your best Thai option.

This place really is a secret. Funky little hidden away place with great service, prices and food. Definitely best Thai food in Sandpoint.

Nice, sweet lady was there to take my order and make my food. Felt like a home cooked meal. It was a pit stop from work to home so I asked for a Togo Ordered the pat see ew 4 star with extra Thai chili peppers. The dish was good. Spiciness felt like a 3 star. Service: 5/5 Food: 3.5/5 Environment: 4/5 Price: 3/5

Love it! authentic food and always good, may take awhile to cook so plan on 20 to 30 minutes.

Best Thai in Sandpoint. A bit inconsistent, and sometimes confused with the orders. Pad see ew with rice not noodles? Nice diversity for Sandpoint.

I agree with Michael H. Great food, friendly service and cooked to perfection!! I've been a Thai food aficionado for years. I moved to Sandpoint in 10/2011 and was delighted when I found Secret Thia.

The name describes the location well- located off the alley next to Eichardts (a well known pub in Sandpoint) and behind Bank of America. It's well worth the effort to find! it is owned by a lovely Thai woman whom also is chef. I can't spell her name but it's very pretty. Now...the food. it was fabulous. cooked to order as Thai should be. fresh, luscious flavors, that slow heat that makes my bald head glisten ( we ordered 3 stars. you can go to 5 but the chef/owner might come out to discuss your sanity). the two of us shared Som Tom (green papaya salad), Tom ca guy (SP) ( spicy coconut soup) and green curry . It was wonderful. I'm so happy to finally have authentic Thai in Sandpoint. It's a very small place, I think only 5 tables inside but I was told when the weather warms a little more (we all hope soon!) they add table outside. I was too full to try the fried banana with ice-cream for desert but plan on coming back and having that first next time, then taking the dinner to-go... They don't have a liquor license but tell me you can bring your own beer or wine. Such a deal! buy it at Eichardts or Pend Oreille winery around the corner! they are open for lunch and dinner but close at 8pm. as it gets warmer and stays light longer they will extend their hours some. The waitstaff (Mary) was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I give Secret Thai 5 stars because I love tiny little hole-in- wall places run by family and friends that serve food made with pride and love where the customers are as likely to talk to you as the staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!
