Almost hate to write about this place. One of those little gems you find on the road where you want to ensure it doesn't get overrun by the masses. But this place has possibly the best breakfast I have ever had. I make it a point on the road search out diners, and it gets easy to tell who cuts corners and who really cares. Service was really nice, the place was filled with locals and the food was fantastic. After the first bite I would have been completely happy with a plate of buttered biscuits and jam, but the hash browns do Idaho proud, and ham had to have its own plate. Just plain good. Why complain about parking, you are going to need a walk after packing away your vittles.

The best breakfast joint in Pocatello. The breakfast breads (toast, waffles, pancakes, and scones) are all skillfully homemade and are all worth the wait, which can be considerable on weekend mornings. The service can be hit or miss, and the parking can be frustrating at times, but this place is definitely worth a visit.

I AM SO MAD...that I live in California & this diner is in Idaho. The food was out of those world. They don't make diners like this anymore. So old school, I'm so happy to see a place like this has survived. The cinnamon roll was the best I've ever had. I have icing all over my dress as I write the review. The scone was nothing I've ever had before. It isn't a scone as I know it, but what the hell do I know about scones? It was like a mini funnel cake. I really wish I could eat here weekly.

Solid breakfast stop. Good sized portions and good service. A good old fashioned truck stop where everyone is old and fat. This is a good sign for good food. The chicken fried steak is amazing!

So I'm pretty picky about biscuits and gravy because, you know, my mom makes it the best. I rarely order it out but took a chance and ordered it here. Wow. I am so glad I did!! Almost as good as moms and I mean 99% as good. Portions were big and the biscuits were delicious. Service was great - fast and with a smile. Good with the kids too - The staff was genuinely upset that the cook forgot to make the choc chips on the pancakes in the form of a smiley face. We didn't know the difference - Our daughter didn't care - she gobbled it up. Bookmarked for our next trip through the area!

If you are looking for an affordable home cooked breakfast with extremely friendly service you can stop your search at Jumbos. Portion sizes are huge and everything is truly home cooked. The breakfast burrito was solid and loaded with sausage, fresh cut peppers and onions to boot. Not once had I ever considered putting sausage gravy on Hash and will probably never be the sale again. Smashing!

Big portions! The eggs, bacon and hash browns were simple and delicious! The biscuits and gravy I did not care for but the other stuff was still good and I left super full so it was all good in my book

I've ordered chicken fried steak here on two separate occasions, but I still haven't tasted it! The first time they were out. Three weeks later, I tried again. It was very loud and busy, and I guess the waitress didn't hear the "chicken fried" part--I was served a sirloin steak, which I hate at breakfast. I also hate throwing away good food, so I didn't tell her about the mistake. To be fair, the sirloin steak was excellent--tender and cooked perfectly to order (I asked for medium). Food quality, portion, and preparation is diner standard. Their hash browns could be more browned and crispier. Eggs fried correctly. Good bacon and pancakes. Coffee is fair (by diner standards). Atmosphere is terrible. If it's busy, then it's obscenely loud. Staff will yell across the room at entering customers, telling them where to sit. China are basically thrown around, clanging loudly. I would avoid this place on weekends. It is a stressful environment. The family who seems to own/operate are friendly, and you can tell that they try hard. But sometimes they're a bit overwhelmed. And some of their waitresses have a resting mean face and are not very friendly. I bussed tables and washed dishes at a small diner in Wyoming when I was a young chap, so I know how it goes, and I appreciate their effort. But it's not for me. Just too loud, stressful, and depressing. I wanted to love it. Oh well.

Little whole in the wall cafe. My experience there was great. Very friendly place. The food was awesome, good portion size at reasonable price. Biscuits and gravy were great, cinnamon roll was incredible. If your passing through I recommend stopping by.

My wife and a couple of my kids and I tried Jerry's jumbos café for morning breakfast. We ordered various items off the menu and were very impressed with most. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak and was very underwhelmed but my son who ate it the next day after we took it home and said that he absolutely loved it I tried it also and it was okay. But everything else was really good there gravy was also a little underwhelmingbut it was okay the bacon the ham the eggs and the potatoes were cooked perfectly The biscuits and gravy and we're good big thick great biscuits and I had flapjacks which were also good and The side portion was huge. I definitely recommend this place if your hungry for a good morning breakfast.

So waitstaff are homophobic. Not professional and you did it behind the young dudes back. Really is that how it is. You should really spend your energy fixing your teeth.

Stopped by while passing through town after recommendation by a local. My husband and I chose to share a three egg western omelette, and could have easily split it three ways with the huge portion sizes! Food was warm, served quickly, and hit the spot. Staff are friendly, spunky, and attentive. Feels and welcoming as your mom's kitchen, and tastes even better! I will absolutely come back here every time I'm in town!

Visited this restaurant as the reviews indicated it was #1 for breakfast in Pocatello. Let's just say I was much more impressed with the Best Western continental breakfast than the sub-par meal we were served here. The gravy was luke-warm and bland, the biscuits were stale and didn't seem like they were freshly baked. The French toast was ok, and did not live up to the hype of the menu or the waitress's recommendation.

If it's a great old-fashioned country breakfast you're after, JJC delivers! The scones are delisious. The biscuits, sausage gravy, bacon and hash browns will make you feel like you're at your grandmother's kitchen table. The service is good, too. What they lack in atmosphere, they more than make for with quality breakfast fare. Well worth the 5-10 drive off the freeway. Trust me!

The food was bland very poorly made. Ridiculously unprofessional! The waitress and the cook were fighting to the point where it was so uncomfortable that I just l wanted to leave. As we were paying there was some thing they had charged extra. When I pointed it out to the lady checking us out she slammed the check and said I'm not doing this yelled at an older lady that was there and told her to do it. I had been wanting to try this place for years and finally got the chance. Never again! I could have let go that the food wasn't great but the way the acted while the place was full was horrible.

This used to be our favorite place, but our last four visits have been disappointing. Today the coffee tasted like water, the biscuit was dry and hard, waitresses were bickering, service is cold. Last time we waited 45 minutes for our order, and then it was completely wrong. We've noticed it's not as busy as it used to be on weekends, so maybe others have noticed the changes too. On the other hand, portion sizes are big so come hungry, and prices are decent. The Cowboy Benedict is fabulous when it's warm and fresh.

After going to several other diners I've finally found the best breakfast in Pocatello, by far! Portions are extremely large, the food is fresh and delicious. I ordered the meat omelet. It came with lots of high quality meat inside. The country potatoes were delicious and they added their amazing sausage gravy on top. They have homemade bread and strawberry jam that's ridiculously good. The service is usually pretty good. As long as they get the food to me in a timely manner and refill my drinks I'm happy and that's exactly what they do. If you are in town for breakfast GO HERE!!!!!

Food is good but service is very hit and miss. Too many times my servers did not refill my coffee and forgot about existence. I would have rated higher but bad service does not make up for good food, especially when there are other restaurants in the area with equally as good breakfast and have much better service. I haven't been back due to the bad service.

On vacation and wanted more like a home cooked meal for breakfast than a chain restaurant. It was pretty crowded but we didn't have to wait for a table. The waitress worked her but off and checked on us several times. The food could of used more seasoning/flavor. I would recommend it for breakfast.

I give the food 5 stars but the customer service took my selection of stars to 3. The breakfast is delish! I would go every day but dread the customer service.

This is the best breakfast in Pocatello! I love their breakfast burrito! It's also a good place if you want something bad for you (that tastes good) like chicken fried chicken with gravy on it. It's a sit down place, but service doesn't take long!

Basically if you want breakfast in Pocatello this is where you come. They have massive portions and everything down to the jam is homemade. The wait staff is fun and friendly and the food is delicious.

Went at 11am and the place was almost empty, so no problem with parking spots & finding a table. great customer service, food portions large & quality wasn't spared. The food was prepared, seasoned & cooked just right.

I disagree with the other reviewers' complaints about the lack of parking. There is an unpaved lot next to the diner, that could accommodate two diners' worth of cars. That being said, I had a great breakfast. The prices are not low, but they seem fair for the amount of food. Plan on spending $8-$10 for breakfast. The service was very good, but I forgot to leave a tip. I will fix that when i go back next time. I ordered two eggs, biscuits and gravy and hash browns. The order was ready in about 10 minutes and was just what I gad hoped for.

I went there this morning.. Country Fried Steak and egg platter was ridiculously huge. Not heavily breaded and quite tasty. Also, a heaping portion of potatoes and toast. I asked for a chocolate milk and I got a 16oz glass of it- no little 8oz glasses here. I am just waking up from my food coma now. And contemplating upping my workout intensity so I can return often.

Went for lunch but ordered breakfast. Ordered 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs and sausage links. The food was great except my biscuits were a bit hard. I understand that they can and do dry out over the day. I think they microwaved them a bit to long. Now if you read my other posts I am quite picky. This place has the friendliest staff I have seen in a Pocatello restaurant. The place has that down home feel where everyone knows your name. Not decorated very well but looked superclean. My order was togo and yes they gave me a ton of food. Lost a start because of my biscuits hardness. Needed a knife to cut them, but were still full of flavor.

My sister and I went this morning. There was a huge argument between three of the waitresses resulting in ours walking out. Did not receive one refill on our coffee; and the sausage gravy tasted like there was dish soap in it. (Both of us took a bite and said the same thing.) Would have quietly mentioned this if anyone had bothered to check on us once, but was not given the opportunity. Did mention this when we paid for our meal (that went 95% uneaten) and was told she would look into it with a roll of her eyes. The portions were very large, and the scone on a different table looked outstanding, but I will not be returning.

Now called Lisa's Jumbos Cafe, this place is a little rundown looking, but overall the food was good. It's nothing to write home about, but if you're hungry, the food is good and you get lots of it. The waitress that we had was attentive and even gave my grumpy 5 year old extra whipped cream on his hot chocolate.

Visited: 11am 2/14/10 I'm not sure if something was lost in my ordering, but apparently they thought I was feeding an army!!! (that's a good thing!). I've never seen so much food for such a great price! And my slab of ham was the size and thickness of a frisbee! Still juicy and delicious though! I took off a star for parking, as it's kind of nonexistent, and for atmosphere, as I think the place could use a little ambiance update. Tried it on Valentine's Sunday morning while visiting from Los Angeles, and only had a short wait.

Here for the Simplot Games and our hotel offers a free, borderline palatable breakfast, But Saturday is the when the big dogs come out to play and it is the finals at Holt Arena. So Fathers and Coaches of Big Dogs need a big dog meal! I Yelped Breakfast in Poky and it did not let me down. The parking at this place sucks so be warned, but you could take that as this place must be damn good if all the parking spots are taken! Once you walk in Lisa's thats the name now you know you have found a diamond in the rough. I routinely take a look at the first table I can sneak a peak at to gauge what we are about to get into. My look gave me the hurry up and seat my ass I want to eat attitude. The menu has all the usual suspects, first instinct said for the french toast which is made with home made bread, down home style. Belly said Biscuits and gravy, and I had seen a plate of that come up and it was Man VS Food style so gluttony won over instinct. My road dawg, fellow parent Dwayne ordered the Jumbo which is essentially 2 of everything. When the food arrived, which both of our orders were delivered on 2 plates each, Dwaynes pancakes were the size of Melos 20's spinning there ass to NYC. At least a 1/2 Lb of home fries and 4 Pieces of perfectly cooked thick country style bacon. My plate had two softball sized biscuits with gravy the size of meatballs! Same setup on the home fires and bacon. Neither one of us could finsih our meals, just to damn much food! I wasnt that fond of my biscuits which were a tad over baked, but my home fries and bacon were right along with the best I have had! If in this desolate spot of Pocatello and wanting a good breakfast, Lisa's AKA Jeri's is the spot and FYI as we were leaving a order of the Homemade french toast came out and my instinct was right that was what I should of ordered. We will be back next year once during the Simplot games and I will get my Toast French sytle!

Very great food but very unhealthy lol. I love the local feel of the place and their portions are great. The cinnamon rolls were to die for even if I have to run for a week to lose the weight I gained from eating one. Service was not as good. It took a while to get our food and they were not very personable but I would still go again for the food.

I have to agree with Joshua this is the best breakfast in Pocatello! I do have to say that the sausage patty I got last time wasn't as good or big as before, but I guess the economy effects everyone :( Anyway everytime I come to Pocatello I have to eat at Jumbo's! It's very homey. They are good at accommodating large groups(everytime I come I bring the whole family)and the food is just awesome. The toast is even fantastic!
