A classic dive bar for serious drinkers. This is a bar person's bar. I'm a third generation patron. And there are a couple generations after me that will yet enjoy the 5 Mile. You should too, just to say you have. Years ago my grandparents had a huge club/restaurant/apartments across the street. Myrtle's Place. Myrtle's is no more and, rest their souls, neither are my grandparents. Grandpa Ernie died of cancer and Grandma Myrtle devoted her years to her church and family. But The 5 Mile lives on. Like asphalt. Kinda crusty and kind of old, but necessary.
